Balenciaga Apologizes to Chinese Customers for Fight at Printemps

BEIJING — A four-second video clip of a violent scuffle involving several Balenciaga customers at Printemps in Paris has prompted an apology from the brand, after it fielded accusations that it discriminated against Chinese shoppers.
According to the user who uploaded the video, the fight broke out when French shoppers attempted to enter, bypassing a line of Chinese customers waiting for their turn.
“Boycott Balenciaga discriminating against Chinese. Really angry, queuing up and yet get hit by the people cutting in line. From now on, buy Chinese Li Ning [the sportswear brand],” the video caption read, adding that Balenciaga would not be able to sell its shoes if Chinese consumers stopped buying them. Since posting, it has been viewed over 820,000 times.
The brand apologized in a statement on Thursday saying, “The house of Balenciaga regrets the incident that took place yesterday morning at a department store in Paris while customers were waiting to enter its corner shop. The security staff acted immediately to restore the calm. Balenciaga sincerely apologizes to the customers who were present and reaffirms its strong commitment to respect equally all its customers.”
The poster of the video wrote that every day she lined up to buy Balenciaga sneakers, and on a daily

NeNe Leakes Says Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s ‘Lies Have Runneth Over’ After RHOA Costar Apologizes

Kim Zolciak-Biermann may be waving a white flag in her feud with NeNe Leakes, but the latter Housewife is seemingly still seeing red.

Hours after the two women faced off on The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 10 reunion part two, Zolciak-Biermann issued an apology hoping to end their war of words. Zolciak-Biermann vowed to stop engaging in battle with her former costar.

Her apology, though, came with the threat of a lawsuit against Leakes — one that Leakes, 50, seemingly encouraged Zolciak-Biermann, 39, start.

“Please file a lawsuit,” the former Fashion Police host wrote on Twitter in a series of impassioned tweets, never directly naming her frenemy but alluding to Zolciak-Biermann. She added, “Anytime you wanna go to court, I’m happy to see you there because your lies have runneth over.”

“You can never WIN when you play DIRTY so throw in the towel!” she also tweeted, before seemingly mocking Zolciak-Biermann’s lip injections. “I mean, throw in the lips!”

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Leakes and Zolciak-Biermann both returned to RHOA for its tenth anniversary season after a long absence from the series, Leakes as a full-time Housewife and Zolciak-Biermann in the “Friend of the Housewives” role.

While the homecoming was supposed to be a triumphant one for the two former friends — who were original Atlanta Housewives when the show first premiered in October 2008 — they quickly butted heads throughout this season, with their fights often spilling over to social media.

The most explosive incident came when Zolciak-Biermann said Leakes was “sick and disgusting” and lived in a “roach nest,” a battle fans quickly dubbed “#RoachGate.” Leakes then responded with her own slams, calling Zolciak-Biermann “racist” and claiming she and her daughter Brielle “don’t like black people.”

RELATED: ‘Close Your Legs to Married Men’: A Brief History of Kim Zolciak-Biermann & NeNe Leakes’ Rocky Friendship

Zolciak-Biermann didn’t take Leakes’ claims lightly. Back in October, when their #RoachGate battle was playing out on social media, the mother of six obtained legal counsel against Leakes.

“She put #KKK on the Instagram post. I’ve hired legal counsel at this point. It’s just that bad,” Zolciak-Biermann told Larry King on Larry King Now. “It’s inappropriate. In this day and age, people are dying over racism. I’m on a show with all African-American women and I’m the only one that’s ever been on the show that’s Caucasian, so it’s the card that sometimes they play and it’s gross. And I won’t allow it.”

“I don’t take this lightly,” Zolciak-Biermann added to E!’s Daily Pop. “It’s one thing like I said to kind of banter back and forth and have an opinion. This is far beyond just having an opinion.”

She later revealed on RHOA that she received death threats after Leakes’ racist claims.

In her Instagram apology on Sunday night, Zolciak-Biermann told Leakes “we both know the truth.”

“We both know that if I wanted to, I could have a lawsuit for the lies you have spewed: tweeting out fake texts, implying I am racist, attacking me physically, claiming my daughter tweeted negative about you and your home – we both know these are lies,” she wrote.

Still, she ultimately apologized.

“I am so sorry for what has happened,” said Zolciak-Biermann. “I have reacted to it publicly and for that I am sorry. I should have risen above it. I personally will no longer engage with you on social media and perpetuate the hate. I am asking you to do the same. We are grown women with families. Enough is enough. I want us to move on.”

As for RHOA, don’t expect to see Zolciak-Biermann back on the hit Bravo show anytime soon.

Asked over the weekend by TMZ cameras if she would return to RHOA, Zolciak-Biermann said “never, never,” explaining it caused “too much stress — unneeded stress.”

Executive producer Andy Cohen agreed. “I think she’s done, yeah,” the 49-year-old Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host told E! News, recounting the tension in filming the RHOA season 10 reunion. “ walked out of that reunion and I said, ‘Yeah, I’ve seen the last of that wig at these reunions.’ ”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion part 3 airs Sunday (8 p.m. ET) on Bravo.

YouTube Star Logan Paul Apologizes for Sharing Video of Apparent Suicide Victim

YouTube personality Logan Paul is apologizing after facing outrage over a controversial video shared to his page that appeared to show the body of an alleged suicide victim in Japan.

The 22-year-old social media star — who boasts 15 million followers on YouTube, has endorsement deals with HBO and Pepsi, and appeared on a recent episode of Top Chef — came under fire Sunday for posting a graphic video filmed in Aokigahara, a forest at Mount Fuji’s base that is often referred to as “suicide forest” due to the high number of suicides that occur there.

Titled “We found a dead boy in the Japanese Suicide Forest,” the since-deleted 15-minute clip reportedly began with an intro from Paul boasting about the disturbing content before showing footage of what appeared to be a dead body with its face blurred out.

“This is not clickbait. This is the most real vlog I’ve ever posted to this channel,” Paul said, New York Magazine reported. “I think this definitely marks a moment in YouTube history because I’m pretty sure this has never hopefully happened to anyone on YouTube ever. Now with that said: Buckle the f— up, because you’re never gonna see a video like this again!”

While Paul later made reference to the seriousness of suicide, depression and mental illness in his video — even linking to the American Society for Suicide Prevention in the clip’s description — criticism from his audience, who are mostly teens, came swiftly, many asking YouTube to suspend his account.

“Suicide is not a joke. Suicide is not a way to gain views. Suicide is not to be taken lightly. What Logan Paul did is not acceptable,” one user wrote. “If you’re struggling, please take your health seriously and please seek help. Your life is worth so much. You are worth so much.”

Celebrities like Aaron Paul and Sophie Turner also spoke out, as did Paul’s fellow YouTubers.

“You disgust me,” Breaking Bad star Paul said. “I can’t believe that so many young people look up to you. So sad. Hopefully this latest video woke them up. You are pure trash. Plain and simple. Suicide is not a joke. Go rot in hell.”

“You’re an idiot,” added Turner, of Game of Thrones fame. “You’re not raising awareness. You’re mocking. I can’t believe how self-praising your “apology” is. You don’t deserve the success (views) you have. I pray to God you never have to experience anything like that man did.”

Paul issued an apology to his 3.9 million Twitter followers on Monday, claiming the intention of his video was to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

“Let’s start with this — I’m sorry,” he wrote. “This is a first for me. I’ve never faced criticism like this before, because I’ve never made a mistake like this before. I’m surrounded by good people and believe I make good decisions, but I’m still a human being. I can be wrong.”

“I didn’t do it for views. I get views. I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the Internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity. That’s never the intention,” he continued. “I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention and while I thought ‘if this video saves just ONE life, it’ll be worth it,’ I was misguided by shock and awe, as portrayed in the video. I still am.”

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

He ended his apology by asking his fans to understand his mistake, and assuring them it wouldn’t happen again.

“I do this s— every day. I’ve made a 15 minute TV show EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 460+ days. One may understand that it’s easy to get caught up in the moment without fully weighing the possible ramifications,” he said.

The statement concluded: “I’m often reminded of how big of a reach I truly have and with great power comes great responsibility… for the first time in my life I’m regretful to say I handled that power incorrectly. It won’t happen again. I love everyone. I believe in people. I’m out here. Peace.”

In the wake of the drama, the former Vine star turned musician was let go from his Disney Channel show, Bizaardvark.

Walmart.com Apologizes for Racial Slur in Product Caption

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. today had to apologize after a vendor’s product was discovered with a caption the retailer called “appalling.”
A third-party vendor on walmart.com, the retailer’s marketplace, used a racial slur to describe the color of a product, a protective cap designed to be worn as a layer in between a person’s real hair and sewn-in hair extensions. The item was brought to light by a Twitter user.
“We are very sorry and appalled that this third-party seller listed their item with this description on our online marketplace,” a Wal-Mart spokeswoman said. “It’s a clear violation of our policy. Dave Chappelle Apologizes For Telling Viewers To Give Donald Trump A Chance

Dave Chappelle has one big regret about his appearance on “Saturday Night Live” last November ― and it wasn’t a punchline.

Just days after Donald Trump was elected president, Chappelle went the magnanimous route during his monologue and asked viewers to give the new leader a chance.

But that was then.

On Monday, the comedian expressed regret for his “SNL” remarks at a charity event in New York City.

“I was the first guy on TV to say ‘Give Trump a chance.’ I f―ked up. Sorry,” he said at the Robin Hood Foundation benefit, according to MSNBC’s Willie Geist.

Rewind to Nov. 12, when Chappelle said on “SNL”:

“I’m wishing Donald Trump luck, and I’m going to give him a chance, and we the historically disenfranchised demand that he give us one too.”

Man, that seems like a long time ago.

Jim Carrey Apologizes For Tweeting Photo Of Boy With Autism In Anti-Vaccine Rant

Jim Carrey spent Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning tweeting about his anti-vaccination views, and on Thursday night he apologized for including a photo of a young boy without permission.

The actor had sent out an image of the boy, who has autism, as part of a series of tweets challenging a new California law that eliminates personal-belief exemptions for childhood immunizations.

The mother of Alex Echols asked Carrey to remove the photo of her son, noting that he had not been given permission to use it.

The picture, which has since been removed, was attached to a tweet that read, “A trillion dollars buys a lot of expert opinions. Will it buy you? TOXIN FREE VACCINES, A REASONABLE REQUEST!” It was included among several images of distraught children with autism.

The scientific consensus, based on multiple studies, is that the vaccines distributed in the United States do not cause autism. Moreover, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that thimerosal, the specific compound that Carrey argues can lead to autism, was removed from childhood vaccines more than a decade ago, except for some flu vaccines.

Alex’s aunt, Elizabeth Welch, posted a screenshot of Carrey’s tweet on Instagram. In the caption, she said that her nephew does have autism but was diagnosed before receiving any vaccinations.

Carrey is not the only anti-vaccine celebrity. Most notably, there’s his former girlfriend, Jenny McCarthy, whose son has autism.

Jay Mohr Apologizes On His Blog For Fat-Shaming Alyssa Milano

In a now-famous tweet she sent out on Christmas Day, Alyssa Milano took comedian Jay Mohr to task for making offensive comments about her body — and finally, he’s apologized.

On Thursday, he admitted that what he said was just a big fail, in a tweet to Perez Hilton and Milano (though still speaking about the actress in the third person).

The “joke” Mohr was referencing was something he said on his podcast after hosting the Dec. 6 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Awards in Las Vegas where Milano was a presenter. “It seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don’t really give a s**t’ … I read it on her gut… Somebody sat in the director’s chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, ‘Jesus Christ,'” he said, in part.

Milano’s comeback was pitch-perfect and completely classy.

There was no immediate response from Mohr. Milano’s fans (aka, anyone who grew up in the 80s), however, applauded her. As one commenter, on the HuffPost Parents Facebook page, wrote: ” Funny I know exactly who Alyssa Milano is but had to google Jay Mohr…I know him as the guy who fired Jerry maguire….check yourself Jay Mohr we all grew up with Alyssa Milano. [sic]” Jezebel, being Jezebel, called him a “residually famous person,” and pointed out that his wife, Nikki Cox, “is probably super-embarrassed right now.”

And that brings us up-to-date — 18 days after Mohr and Milano attended the event together, nine days after Milano took the high road and more than a full day after the comedian said, effectively, Wait, it was just a joke! — to Friday, when Mohr posted an actual apology on his blog.

“Comedians have a hole on their insides that can only be filled by generating constant content that is, many times, improvised in the moment. Unfortunately, in rare instances, it causes irreparable harm,” it begins.

I know full well how much words can hurt people, having seen my wife get destroyed by the tabloids, and I am embarrassed that I didn’t think before I spoke. Alyssa is an extraordinarily beautiful person—both inside and out. Alyssa is a mother, a wife, an actress, and a class act that should always be celebrated. Sometimes comedians go too far. I went too far. I cannot change what I said, but I can assure you that my heart is broken that I hurt her. I am very sorry. With the utmost sincerity, Jay Mohr
