EXCLUSIVE: Neil Barrett to Debut First London Store

MILAN — Neil Barrett is boosting its distribution with key openings and a new web site.
As a first step of a retail strategy aimed at bringing the brand founded in 1999 by British designer Neil Barrett in the most prestigious streets of the key international cities in the world, the fashion label is gearing up to unveil its first store in London.
Opening its doors just in time for the holiday season, the shop will occupy 2,153 square feet on Conduit Street in the heart of the Mayfair neighborhood and feature a “revisited, cozier version of the store concept by Zaha Hadid Architects, which is already on show in our 30 monobrand stores around the world,” said Neil Barrett chief executive officer Carlo Barone Lumaga, during an interview at the company’s headquarters in Milan.
“This is an important step for the brand and it’s even more relevant because Neil is British and he is very connected with his roots,” said Barone Lumaga, adding that the store will enable the brand to fully showcase its collection in a key market for the company. “We will definitely maintain our tight relationships with the British department stores and in the course of next year we will

James Harden, P.J. Tucker Take in Neil Barrett Show

JUMPING IN: James Harden and P.J. Tucker of the Houston Rockets flew into Milan Friday night and turned up the next afternoon in the front row of Neil Barrett’s show at the designer’s headquarters — where they were quickly surrounded by top men’s editors starry-eyed at meeting the sports celebrities and taking selfies with them.

P.J. Tucker and James Harden

Harden is a longtime fan of Barrett’s and wears his designs often — “I have more of his clothes in my closet than I realized,” Harden said, revealing he and Barrett are in talks about a potential collaboration, although he declined to reveal details. During the show he seemed particularly excited by Barrett’s sneaker designs, nudging Tucker several times to point at specific styles.
The basketball superstar said he hoped to spend the next day doing some sightseeing in Milan before he headed to Paris for the men’s shows there. He plans to attend Virgil Abloh’s Off-White show as well as Abloh’s debut as men’s artistic director at “Louis,” i.e., Louis Vuitton. “I’m excited to see that,” Harden said.

Ex-Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett spurns Colts, decides to try out with an NFC team

One of the craziest parts of the NFL Draft actually comes after the draft. As soon as the seventh round wraps up, a mad scramble begins that involves the NFL's 32 teams trying to sign the best players who went undrafted.  In 2018, that list of undrafted players included former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett. After the draft finished up on Saturday, Colts general manager Chris Ballard announced that Barrett had agreed to a tryout that would take place at Indy's rookie minicamp, scheduled for May 11-13.  "We didn't sign him. We're bringing him in for rookie minicamp," Ballard said after the draft, via CBS 4 in Indy. "It'll be fun to watch him work and see where it goes." Looking for a hot

Brantley Gilbert and Wife Amber Welcome Son Barrett Hardy-Clay – See His First Photo!

Brantley Gilbert‘s “Kind of Crazy”? New fatherhood!

The 32-year-old country rocker and his wife Amber welcomed their first child, son Barrett Hardy-Clay Gilbert, on Saturday, Nov. 11, his rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

Born at 1:37 p.m. after a fairly quick labor at Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Georgia, baby Barrett weighed in at 6 lbs., 7 oz. and measures 20 inches in length.

“Honestly, I’m just speechless,” Gilbert tells PEOPLE of the birth of his first child. “Watching the delivery, I don’t even know what to say. Amber and I are just so thankful and blessed to have this beautiful little boy.”

Due the 17th, Barrett arrived a bit sooner than originally anticipated. “It was really fast. Amber woke up, had a little pain,” the singer-songwriter explains. “And the nurse said, ‘You’re ready.’ It was 30 minutes, and we had Barrett. And I have no words, beyond it’s even more than I could’ve ever imagined.”

When it came to naming their son, the Gilberts looked to a longtime favorite, as well as their family lineage.

“Barrett’s a name we’d had for a very, very long time,” Gilbert tells PEOPLE. “We knew we wanted to have a ‘B’ name, and something we’ve always had and loved.”

The baby’s hyphenated middle name honors both sides of Brantley and Amber’s family — Hardy comes from Amber’s father’s side, while Clay was the country star’s PaPaw’s middle name.

Gilbert and his wife revealed they were expecting their first child exclusively to PEOPLE in May, explaining that it was “an answer to a prayer” after trying to conceive for almost two years following their June 2015 wedding.

“We’d been to see a fertility specialist, and two different folks that told me it would be close to a miracle if it happened without IVF,” Gilbert said at the time. “I’m not much of a quitter, but I was really, really frustrated.”

But in February, Amber “handed me a box and there were three pregnancy tests in there and all of them were positive,” he recalled.

“I think I stared at it for at least two minutes without saying anything because I was literally in shock. We’d been told it was just not in the cards, and I’m staring at this answer to many, many, many prayers.”

In early June, the then-parents-to-be celebrated their little one with a gender reveal party, where the “Bottoms Up” singer used a rifle to shoot at a target filled with blue dust.

“Everybody was crying. I turned around and I think that’s when it hit me that everybody’s wanted this for us as much as we did for so long,” Gilbert told PEOPLE. “When the blue cloud went up, well, that made it even more real. Now we know it’s a little boy, and he’s gonna have to get ready for a whole lot of love.”

“We got to go to the doctor’s and pick up the envelope with the in it,” Gilbert added. “Then we took it to the guy who was packing the powder. We dropped it off, then waited until the big moment … and man, when we saw that blue cloud of smoke rising?! There are no words.”

“Amber and I thought it was a little boy. I don’t know how or why, but we just did,” he continued. “I’d have been happy with any baby, boy or girl. But there’s something about the idea of a little guy … ”

The new dad is extremely grateful for the couple’s new addition, telling PEOPLE in June how much the support of their loved ones has meant to them along their journey.

“It feels like Amber and I have been trying to have a baby, and now that it’s happening, the world is as happy as we were,” Gilbert explained. “People saw what we were going through, and so many people have these problems, so we’re all in it together.”

Neil Barrett Builds His Block

MILAN — “A new chapter in my company’s story.”
That’s how Neil Barrett described the developments at his namesake brand, which recently set up shop in a new headquarters on Milan’s Via Ceresio. The 538,200-square-foot building was part of a former electrical plant and currently houses the Dsquared2 offices with the Ceresio 7 restaurant and gym as well.
“Finally we’re able to house all the operations under one roof,” Barrett said. “I used to be in seven different buildings before and so we would always get wet during the winter moving from one appointment to the other. It kept us quite real.”
That down-to-earth attitude is the spirit that has always guided the designer’s decisions — a low-key, steady-as-he-goes approach to growth that has enabled him to remain independent while generating revenues of more than 90 million euros in 2016.

“It’s such a pleasure to have such a big space that’s been designed specifically for every single operation in the building. It’s really tailor-made,” said Barrett.

Designed by Milanese architecture firm Storage Associati, the building, which features a faded black facade punctuated by myriad windows on both the front and the back, perfectly reflects the sleek, minimal aesthetic of the brand with its graphic combination of concrete and glass.
“Everything revolves around this central void. The concept that I’ve always dreamed

Neil Barrett Pre-Fall 2017

Reworking men’s tailoring from a female point of view may have been a tad predictable for Neil Barrett’s pre-fall collection. But he put aside the overt sporty references of his recent collection in favor of clothes that offered adult appeal for professional women. Barrett developed a reality-based wardrobe where sharp silhouettes, clean lines and sober colors conveyed a sophisticated, minimal elegance. Spencer jackets, blazers, coats and trenches were updated with cutouts at the underarm. Peekaboo slashes on the backs of cotton poplin shirts in masculine patterns introduced a sensuality to a classic men’s item. Pants took center stage in the lineup — flared styles with bands down the legs, wide-leg culottes and skinny washed jeans — while skirts and dresses cut just below the knee exuded discreet femininity.
