DeMario Jackson’s Attorney Claims the Tapes Will Prove His Interaction with Corrine Was ‘Consensual’

DeMario Jackson believes that the tapes of his encounter with Corinne Olympios on the set of Bachelor in Paradise will show he did nothing wrong.

Jackson’s attorney, Walter Mosley, tells PEOPLE exclusively that his client is confident that when those tapes are reviewed, he will be vindicated.

“The tapes will show that everyone, all of the participants of the Bachelor, everyone was consenting to what was going on,” Mosley explains. “And certainly his interaction with Corrine was a consensual interaction.” (Olympios’ legal team did not respond to a request for comment.)

Mosley — a Harvard-trained, Los Angeles-based entertainment attorney — says that if Warner Bros. digs into what went on, they’ll find that fault does not lie with Jackson, but with themselves.

“If there is enough for an investigation,” Mosley says, “Then there’s 30 other people who all work for ABC or Warner Bros. who need to be investigated in aiding and abetting because they’re all sitting there watching with the cameras.”

As or how Jackson is faring during the scandal, Mosley says he is relying on his family to get through the storm.

“He’s leaning on his family right now, seeing his doctors, getting help, treatment, and therapy,” Mosley says. “Taking it day by day. He’s smart, well-educated, a fun-loving man.”

Mosley adds, “There’s a lot of elements here that are difficult for everyone. He’s a strong young man but this has been difficult for him. You can imagine that this is emotionally traumatic for him.”

Sources previously confirmed to PEOPLE that production was halted after a producer raised concerns about an alleged sexual encounter between Jackson and Olympios, both of whom had reportedly been drinking heavily all day.

Shortly after Olympios broke her silence on the BiP scandal saying she was shocked by what had occurred, Jackson was quick to issue a statement of his own.

“It’s unfortunate that my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations,” the star said in a statement to PEOPLE. “I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared and, per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws.”

RELATED VIDEO: Corinne Olympios Breaks Silence on Bachelor in Paradise Scandal: ‘This Is My Worst Nightmare’

Mosley says that Jackson feels “nothing but respect for Corrine” following the scandal, saying, “He thinks that she’s a great girl, very pleasant interactions with her, nothing but respect and nothing but well wishes for her.”

According to a source close to Jackson, the BiP star “has been in high spirits” since the investigation and is confident his reputation will soon be cleared.

“He certainly isn’t the man he’s being portrayed to be,” the source told PEOPLE on Wednesday. “It’s hard for his loved ones to sit and watch most of the slanderous accusations and comments from individuals who don’t know anything about who he is. I think the truth may tell different story than what’s been reported thus far.”

While the ABC show’s fate remains up in the air, a source told PEOPLE BiP will not be resuming this summer. “There are no authorities involved, no law enforcement but the incident was flagged internally and they take these matter seriously, so they’re looking into it. But Bachelor in Paradise will not be resuming — this summer at least.

John Oliver Calls ‘Turbo Bulls**t’ On Trump’s Comey Claims

John Oliver isn’t buying it.

The “Last Week Tonight” host doesn’t believe President Donald Trump’s claims that former FBI director James Comey said that Trump himself wasn’t under investigation three times.

“I call bullshit,” Oliver said on Sunday night. “I call turbo bullshit on that. There is no way those conversations went down in that manner.”

The president is somehow “both a terrible and an amazing liar, and I don’t know how that’s physically possible,” Oliver said.

Oliver also slammed the “genuinely weird” termination letter as well as the following week of “confusing and contradicting” explanations that were ultimately blown up by Trump’s interview with NBC’s Lester Holt on Thursday.

That was when Trump admitted he was going to can Comey, no matter what.

“Trump is so desperate to appear dominant he will rush to take the credit for anything no matter how bad it is,” Oliver said, adding:

“If you wanted him to confess to murder, all a lawyer would have to say is ‘Your honor, the killer could not possibly have been Donald Trump. It must have been someone much stronger and smarter with a much hotter daughter,’ and before they finished that sentence, Trump would be yelling, ‘I did it! It was me! Lock me up! Lock me up! Lock me up!’”

‘Survivor’ Player Claims He Was Fired From Job After Outing Transgender Teammate

Reality TV contestant Jeff Varner spent much of last week apologizing for making the “worst decision” of his life on “Survivor: Game Changers,” and now he’s facing the consequences of that decision in the real world.

Varner claims he lost his position at Allen Tate Real Estate on Thursday because he outed fellow tribe member Zeke Smith as transgender during Wednesday night’s episode of the reality TV competition.

“I didn’t even find out from my company,” Varner told EOnline.com on Saturday. “Suddenly my real estate license was inactive and my current clients [were] left in the dark.”

Varner added, “It took hours after my press junket to get anyone with the company on the phone to tell me personally and even longer to calm my clients, all of whom, by the way, are coming with me to my new firm.”

Allen Tate Real Estate did not immediately respond to The Huffington Post’s request for comment about Varner’s story.

The 51-year-old, who has appeared on “Survivor” three times, said his termination was directly related to the controversy that instantly erupted after the outing episode aired.

“My former boss told me that I was in a news story they wanted nothing to do with,” he told EOnline.com. “I was devastated.” He said he’d warned the firm that headlines might be coming, “but apparently not the people who needed to hear it.”

Varner has faced intense scrutiny and backlash since he tried to save himself from being voted off “Survivor” by asserting that Smith was being “deceptive” by not discussing his gender identity and history with the other competitors.

“There is deception here. Deception on levels … that these guys don’t even understand,” Varner told his teammates. “Why haven’t you told anyone that you’re transgender?”

Smith, a 29-year-old gay asset manager from Brooklyn who has appeared twice on the show, used the shocking moment to draw attention to the danger that trans people face and the potentially deadly consequences of being outed.

“I think he hoped others would believe that trans people are dangerous and fraudulent,” Smith told People magazine. “That reasoning is infinitely worse than him outing me because it’s the same one used to discriminate against, attack and murder trans people. What’s great is that nobody bought it.”

Smith, who worked with CBS and GLAAD in the months between the filming of the episode and its airing on Wednesday, offered more thoughts about his very public outing in an op-ed for The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, including his current feelings about Varner.

“If we’re being perfectly honest with one another, I’ve struggled with that forgiveness in the months following,” Smith wrote. “I can’t foresee us sipping martinis together in Fire Island. While I can reconcile the personal slight of him outing me, I continue to be troubled by his willingness to deploy such a dangerous stereotype on a global platform.”

Varner, who posted an apology on Instagram just moments after the episode aired, said he has been in therapy during the 10 months since filming to deal with the aftermath of the outing.

“I probably sent all the red flags up that I was going to kill myself over this, which, of course, I would never do that as much as I felt like I probably deserved it,” Varner told EOnline.com. “There was a psychologist outside at the path that I walked down and I fell into her arms. It was just great for me.”

Ultimately, he’s just happy to have it out in the open.

“I knew that it would be emotional,” Varner said. “I cried a lot. I sat numb a lot. There was relief that this is finally out there.”

Seth Meyers Claims Donald Trump Is ‘The Dude’ From ‘Big Lebowski’

This aggression will not stand, man.

During his “Closer Look” segment on Tuesday night, Seth Meyers recapped the topsy-turvy, ridiculous circumstances surrounding Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes and the investigation into Donald Trump’s alleged Russian ties.

Nunes was a one-man show last week, holding a press conference to claim that there was evidence that Trump officials were surveilled by the government. He even took the information to the president before going to his own committee.

Meyers said Trump took Nunes’ information as proof that the Obama administration had wiretapped him, despite those reports being shut down.

Among other things, Trump told Time, “A lot of information has just been learned, and a lot of information may be learned over the next coming period of time,” and, “Well, he just got this information. This was new information. That was just got,” which led Meyers to make a shocking discovery …

Donald Trump is The Dude from “The Big Lebowski.”

Meyers explained, “The Dude and Trump have a lot in common. They both have bathrobes, both obsessed with their rugs, and they both love White Russians.”

Also, don’t forget they both have a Steve Buscemi connection. Buscemi, of course, played Donny in “The Big Lebowski,” and while attending a Women’s March earlier this year, he posed alongside a “Lebowski”-inspired message to Trump.

There you have it, dudes.

So should we start calling President Trump The Dude now? You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brevity thing?

Stephen Colbert Calls ‘Bulls–t’ On Trump’s Continued Voter Fraud Claims

If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, it might just be President Donald Trump’s voter fraud claims.

In his recent interview with Bill O’Reilly, President Trump continued expressing his belief in rampant voter fraud despite an alarming lack of evidence. While that seems so perplexing that it’d be hard for many to put into words, Stephen Colbert did his best.

“This kind of accusation is called ― and I don’t want to get too technical here ― bullshit,” Colbert said.

The “Late Show” host went on to say that “the largest investigation of voter impersonation ever found just 31 incidents out of a billion ballots cast,” referring to a 2014 Washington Post report that looked at U.S. elections since 2000.

So what do we make of Trump’s claim that 3 million people voted for Hillary Clinton illegally? Colbert crunched the numbers and has an answer for that, too …

Stephen Colbert Addresses ‘Golden Shower’ Claims Like A Whiz

When it comes to ranting about “golden showers,” Stephen Colbert doesn’t piss around.

The “Late Show” host started his Wednesday show by commenting on the recent dump of unverified claims about President-elect Donald Trump onto the internet. (Actually, it’s more of a “leak” than a “dump.”) The story everyone’s talking about is that Trump supposedly hired prostitutes to perform a “golden shower show” (urinating on one another for sexual gratification) in front of him in a Moscow hotel room where the Obamas once stayed.

Uh, what?

Colbert said the claims were unverified and he wouldn’t validate the report by talking about it, not even the “number one” detail.

Then, of course, he talked about it.

Colbert continued, “I think this is just an unfortunate ‘leak’ that’s making a ‘huge mess,’ and I know I’m being a ‘wet blanket,’ but reporting on this is the worst kind of ‘yellow journalism.’ Even though jokes about this story are a ‘golden opportunity,’ I just, I won’t do it, not to say the story didn’t make a ‘huge splash.’ It did. It ‘flooded’ Twitter. We’ll keep you up to date as facts ‘trickle’ in. We have our best researcher working on it. She’s a real ‘whiz,’ and one thing is for sure. The president-elect is a Goldwater Republican who truly believes in ‘trickle down.’ He has the respect of our emergency service workers who gave his plane a ‘water salute.’ Trump has even denied allegations like this before in the strongest of terms.”

”So no, I’m not gonna make any jokes, not even a ‘wee’ one. So I’m cutting it off now. I am finished. Wait, a little more is coming out. It happens sometimes,” said Colbert.

Wow. Now you might say, “Hmm … for not making jokes, that sure sounded like a lot of jokes.”

Colbert explained, “After 8 years of listening to Trump make unsubstantiated claims about Obama’s birth certificate, I don’t think it matters if this is true or not because the fact is it’s out there, and that means, Mr. Trump, you’re in trouble.”

Sounds like Donald Trump could be in hot water … a glorious, glorious stream of hot water.

Parents of Toddler Trapped Under Fallen Dresser Speaks Out Against Claims Video Was a Hoax

The Shoff family is setting the record straight after some have questioned the authenticity of a video showing their toddler pinned under a fallen dresser.

Little Brock and Bowdy Shoff made headlines earlier this week after their mother, Kayli, uploaded nanny cam footage showing the harrowing moments in which 2-year-old Bowdy pushed a fallen dresser off of his twin brother in the nursery of their Orem, Utah, home.

However, some skeptics have called the video a hoax, noting that the dresser was empty and the camera appeared to be focused on the furniture. But the boys’ father, Rick, said both were simple coincidences.

“They would get into the drawers, pull all the clothes that we had in the drawer and put them out and just throw them all over the room during naptime or whatever,” Rick explained during a Thursday appearance on Good Morning America. “So we just decided the easiest thing was to empty the drawers and put all their clothes in, like, the closet.”

He added: are pretty active so we do what ever we can to … make sure we can keep clean.”

Kayli previously explained that she and her husband didn’t know what happened until they checked their security footage and saw the scary ordeal unfold. However, some have claimed that the couple staged the incident, noting that Rick works for a camera company.

“I’m just an employee. I’m in sales for them and there’s thousands of sales reps for the company,” Rick explained. “We have cameras throughout our whole house and that camera’s just positioned in the best angle to see the entire room. So, it wasn’t positioned just to have just the dresser.”

He added that the cameras in the family’s home are attached to the walls and are not adjustable.

The boys were uninjured and the parents have since bolted the IKEA dresser to the wall, Kayli previously told GMA.

Rob Kardashian Claims Blac Chyna Won’t Let Him See Baby Dream, Still Refers to Her as His ‘Woman’

Rob Kardashian has taken to Instagram to plead with Blac Chyna to let him see their newborn daughter Dream after she left their shared home.

After Kardashian, 29, shared footage of empty rooms in his home and claimed Chyna “took the baby, took the whole nursery we built” on Saturday, he began posting memes people had created of the couple’s apparent breakup.

“Bring Dream back to her Dad please,” Kardashian captioned one meme that depicts Chyna, 28, “stealing Christmas” dressed as the Grinch with their daughter Dream and Chyna’s 4-year-old son King (from her previous relationship with Tyga) in her bag. “She blocked me or else I would ask to see her and she has the guard gate not letting me in the gate either. I just miss baby Dream.” (In a since-deleted post, Chyna said Kardashian could come see Dream if he wanted to because he “knows where we are.”)

In another post that shows Kardashian standing alone in an empty house, he claims that although he’s sharing the comical memes, the situation is anything but humorous.

“This is all very real and serious to me and I’m trying to cheer myself up with these and they are making me laugh. So relax,” he wrote. “This wasn’t fake or some publicity stunt. Trust me. My one month old beautiful baby girl got taken from me along with my wife who left me. Been upset for days so relax. This is all very real in my life. I don’t play when it comes to my woman and my baby.”

Kardashian’s most recent post was a collage of photos of his daughter.

“Pretty Dream,” he captioned the photos. “Miss u pretty mama.”

Chyna also appeared to regain control of her Instagram account after it was hacked on Saturday, sharing a photo of her children to promote the special episode of Rob & Chyna featuring Dream’s birth.

The anonymous hacker claimed she had left Kardashian and they were going to “expose” the reality star and how she was using Kardashian while allegedly cheating on him with other men. The hacker then began to share private messages and text conversations allegedly between Chyna and her lawyer, Jaden Smith and rapper Young Thug — although they didn’t appear to show any signs of infidelity on Chyna’s part.

Chyna later confirmed that the conversations were true, and even implied that Kardashian was behind the hack in a since-deleted post.

Museum’s ‘Kimono Wednesdays’ Cancelled After Claims Of Racism

“Kimono Wednesdays” sounds more like an ill-advised sorority ritual than sanctioned museum programming. And yet, this month, at the MFA Boston, museumgoers lined up to touch and try on kimonos in front of Claude Monet’s “La Japonaise.”

It wasn’t long before protestors spoke out both on social media and on the museum grounds, dubbing the initiative to be culturally insensitive and racist. Critics pointed out that, even worse, the garments on display were actually uchikake, not kimonos. Insert forehead slap.

As a result of the outrage, the MFA swiftly canceled “Kimono Wednesdays,” which was scheduled to continue until July 29.

Originally imagined to accompany Monet’s “La Japonaise,” a painting of the artist’s wife Camille Doncieux posing with a fan and kimono, the program encouraged visitors to ”channel your inner Camille Monet” by posing in similar garb.

What’s strange is that Monet’s piece is often interpreted as a satirical response to the absurd, fetishistic craze of the Japanese aesthetic sweeping Paris around 1876, at the time of the work’s creation. Instead of sparking a dialogue around the problematic Orientalism of the time, it seems the MFA engaged in a little fetishism of its own.

In an extensive tumblr post from “Stand Against Yellow Face,” protestors elaborated on the many supremacist aspects of the work’s presentation. “What is the value of inviting the public to then dress up and participate in the very thing Monet was critiquing? Why not choose a print from the Hokusai exhibit to highlight the experience of Japanese women? Or why not provide a discussion on the historical context and criticality about the 1870’s obsession?”

Protestors who gathered in person held signs reading messages such as: “It’s not racist if you look cute & exotic in it besides the MFA supports this!”

There is no education on the garment’s origin, history, uses, or importance in Japanese society at the time,” Stand Against Yellow Face explained on Facebook. “The act of non-Japanese museum staff throwing these kimonos on visitors as a ‘costume’ event is an insult not only to our identities, experiences, and histories as Asian-Americans in America, but affects how society as a whole continues to typecast and deny our voices today … A willingness to engage thoughtfully with museum employees and visitors on the bullshit of this white supremacist ‘costume’ event are [sic] welcome.”

Stand Against Yellow Face’s tumblr memorandum also elaborates on why the choice to exhibit traditional Japanese dress in this way, even if not meant to be offensive, is damaging and hurtful. “Orientalism exoticizes (read: others, demeans and obscures) many cultures including South Asian, East Asian and Middle Eastern traditions, and resulting aggressive attitudes (both micro and macro) towards Orientalized peoples persist to this day.”

On July 7, the MFA released a statement announcing a shift in programming, where visitors will be allowed to touch with and interact with the historically accurate kimonos on display, but not try them on.

As Katie Getchell, deputy director of the museum, told the Observer, the MFA thought “Kimono Wednesdays” would be a success in part due to the popularity of similar programs in Japanese museums including the Setagaya in Tokyo, The Kyoto Municipal Museum, and The Nagoya/Boston Museum of Fine Arts, when “La Japonaise” was on loan.

In its July 7 statement, the museum apologized for offending any visitors. Despite this, protestor Aparna “Pampi” Das told the BBC that despite the MFA’s statement, protests will continue until the museum issues a formal apology and opens a panel including protestors to discuss the incident in public.

The MFA wrote in an email to the Huffington Post that the museum is not making any statements in relation to the protestor’s new demands.

Bobby Flay Cheated With January Jones, Claims Estranged Wife In Court Docs

Bobby Flay and Stephanie March’s divorce is not what you’d call amicable.

The couple split in early April after 10 years of marriage and March is challenging the prenup under which Flay is required to pay the actress $ 5,000 a month.

In Touch reports that March is challenging the prenup on the grounds that Flay allegedly cheated on her with three women, including actress January Jones.

A source familiar with the case told the magazine that the former “Law & Order: SVU” actress is claiming in court papers that the 50-year-old celebrity chef “committed adultery” with Jones several times in the in early 2010. The magazine also reports that March has accused Flay of cheating with a food stylist and his assistant.

Page Six previously reported that it’s believed the couple’s prenup had no infidelity clause, and if true, March’s claims likely would not help her cause. However, TMZ reported that the actress also filed documents claiming that it’s her “amazing palate” that is responsible for his success.

Reps for Flay and Jones have yet to respond to requests for comment.

Model Janice Dickinson Sues Bill Cosby For Defamation Over Rape Claims

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Model Janice Dickinson has sued Bill Cosby for defamation over statements by his representatives that called her claims the comedian raped her in 1982 lies.

Dickinson’s lawsuit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court seeks unspecified damages on defamation, false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims. The suit states Dickinson requested a retraction from Cosby about statements calling her allegations, made last year to “Entertainment Tonight,” a lie. An email sent to Cosby’s attorney Martin Singer was not immediately returned. Singer called Dickinson’s claims that Cosby raped her in a Lake Tahoe, California, hotel room in 1982 “false and outlandish” in a letter to The Associated Press last year.

Dickinson’s suit states the denials by Cosby’s camp have caused her embarrassment, humiliation and led to her being re-victimized.

Park Ranger Deryl Nelson Claims He Was Fired For Dancing On The Job

A park ranger’s love of public dancing may have sent him waltzing into the unemployment line.

Deryl Nelson, 51, worked at Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for seven years. About a year into into the job, he drew cheers for joining a group of visitors doing the Macarena.

After that, there was no stopping him and he would boogie oogie oogie at impromptu moments.

“It’s all about enjoying what you do and that’s the way I feel,” Nelson said told WRCB TV. “[It’s] clean fun. It’s nothing like doing any bumping and grinding.”

Some say otherwise.

Work was a kick for Nelson until recently when he was booted off the job after a woman named Melissa Parsons filmed one of his dance sessions and posted it online.

The raw video of Nelson’s dance shows him at one point laying on the ground with his legs folded under his body while he seems to pump his pelvis towards the sky.

“As a parent and seeing all the parents that were covering their kids eyes and turning their heads away, it wasn’t something you would expect to see in Coolidge Park or anywhere from a grown man, especially a man in uniform,” Parsons told NewsChannel9.com. “He went all the way to the ground, he came back up from the ground, he was grabbing areas that you would see on a rated R movie.”

When Nelson’s supervisors saw the video, they terminated him for what the city calls, “conduct unbecoming a public employee.”

Chattanooga city officials say they do not comment on personnel matters, but this isn’t Nelson’s first dance with danger.

According to city records, Nelson was suspended for crashing a car while on duty. In 2013, he was suspended for five days for “addressing inappropriate remarks to a co-worker,” according to UPI.com.

Last year, he also won an award from the police department for helping save a woman’s life at the park, MercuryNews.com reported.

News about Nelson’s termination has moved some people to their feet.

A Facebook group called Bring Back Deryl Nelson: The Dancing Park Ranger has attracted about 486 supporters, about the same number that has signed a Change.org petition addressed to the City of Chattanooga.

Nelson refuses to take the termination lying down — literally — and wants his job back.

“This is my song and nothing going to bring me down,” he said, according to TimesFreePress.com. “I love life and I love dancing!”

Jimmy Savile Sexual Abuse Scandal: 500 People Reported Incidents By Late Entertainer, Children’s Charity Claims

LONDON (AP) — A British children’s charity says at least 500 people have reported abuse by the late entertainer Jimmy Savile, with the youngest alleged victim just 2 years old.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children said Monday that the most common age group for victims was 13 to 15. Peter Watt, the charity’s director of child protection, said Savile was a “prolific sex offender … (who) lost no opportunity to identify vulnerable victims and abuse them.”

The cigar-chomping, platinum-haired Savile was a British television fixture for several decades, but after his death at 84 in 2011, witnesses and victims came forward to accuse him of sexual abuse. Police have since described the television and radio presenter as a serial sexual predator who used his fame to target young and mostly female victims, from star-struck teens at television recordings to patients in hospital beds.

A police investigation concluded last year that Savile’s abuse spanned half a century and included at least 214 offenses, most against victims under 18.

The NSPCC researched Savile’s crimes as part of a BBC documentary to be aired Monday.

It found more alleged victims than previously thought at Broadmoor psychiatric hospital. Police say they have received 16 allegations of abuse inside the institution.

Savile visited frequently as part of his charity work and was given his own set of keys to the hospital. In 1988, he was hired as an adviser to help resolve staff-management tensions at Broadmoor.
