Keren Craig to Exit Marchesa

Keren Craig, Marchesa co-founder, said today she has decided to leave her role with the company to pursue new creative ventures.
Georgina Chapman and Craig established Marchesa specializing in women’s wear in 2004. The brand has evolved into a full lifestyle company and now includes an eveningwear line, Marchesa Bridal, Marchesa Notte, Couture and Notte Bridal, as well as collections of both fine and fashion jewelry.
“While I have made the difficult  decision to part ways with Marchesa, I have tremendous pride in the company, the team, and the many successes achieved. Marchesa will always be the realization of a dream,” said Craig. “Over the last 16 years,  it has been the most incredible and fulfilling professional journey. I am excited to now begin exploring additional creative opportunities and to push my potential as a designer in new directions.”
Marchesa has had a difficult 18 months following the rape and sexual misconduct allegations of Chapman’s former husband Harvey Weinstein. The brand suspended its runway shows and over the last few seasons has held only presentations, without Chapman and Craig present. Hollywood stars also initially shunned the label because of the Weinstein connection, but a few have begun wearing it again – although far

CAVALLI NO MORE: Paul Surridge on Monday morning confirmed he was leaving his role as creative director of the Roberto Cavalli brand through an Instagram post on his account. WWD was the first to report last week that an exit of the designer was imminent.
Surridge said in his post that he now wished “to focus on other projects that I put aside in order to achieve our common goals with Roberto Cavalli Group.”

Paul Surridge Said to Exit Roberto Cavalli

According to a well-informed source in London, Paul Surridge has resigned, or is close to taking that step, leaving his role as creative director of the Roberto Cavalli brand. An announcement is expected to come as early as this week.
Sources said the designer over the past few months has grown increasingly frustrated because of the lack of investment in the development and refurbishment of the store network as well as in marketing and communications. He is also said to feel the design team has not been supported, as resources have been scarce.
“The decision last summer to look for an external investor and, more recently, to not provide any more funding have made the original project impossible, and therefore triggered Paul’s decision to look elsewhere,” said one source.
Committed to chief executive officer Gian Giacomo Ferraris and his team, Surridge agreed to stay on to design and present the spring 2019 and fall 2019 collections. However, sources now say that Surridge has been approached for another project and wants to distance himself from the company in order to be in the position to evaluate freely the next step in his career.
The Roberto Cavalli company had no comment on the rumors.

Carole Radziwill Says She Walked Away from Something That Went Against Her Values After RHONY Exit

Carole Radziwill is asking fans what they would do if they were in her shoes.

On Friday, just days after announcing her departure from the Real Housewives of New York, the reality star polled her Instagram followers to see whether they would follow their hearts or put their bank accounts first.

In an Instagram Story, Radziwill, 54, posed a question to her fans, “If you were doing something that was forcing you to do things that went against your own value system would you walk away regardless of the pay? Its a tough decision.”

After fans overwhelming voted “yes” on her survey, the journalist wrote, “So 80% would walk away from something that went against their own values.”

It was a decision, she told fans, that she was forced to make recently.

“That’s how I felt this past year too. It’s difficult but life is long and you can’t always play the short game,” the star added.

It appears she is very happy with that decision, as the best-selling author was beaming in the photograph.

The smiling star looked chic but casual in a pair of ripped jeans and a white T-shirt as she soaked in some sun during her vacation in Aspen, Colorado.

“I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind. My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament,” Radziwill told PEOPLE in a statement on Wednesday.

PEOPLE learned that her ongoing feud with Bethenny Frankel also influenced her choice, as indicated by the portion of her statement in which she said she was “thrilled to leave frenemies behind.”

“They never seemed to be able to reconcile. The show couldn’t go on another season with both of them at each other’s throats. And Bethenny’s an OG. She’s been there since the beginning. She’s a , but she gives the show a lot of energy,” a source tells PEOPLE. “There’s no way they’re going to do it without her. Last time she left, the show went to hell.”

However, one production source insists that as far as producers are concerned, Radziwill could have chosen to stay: “She was not pushed to leave. She left on her own accord.”

RELATED ARTICLE: RHONY’s Dorinda Medley Predicted Luann de Lesseps’ Relapse: ‘She’ll Be Drinking in 3 Months’

She ended her statement with sincerity and wit. “I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind,” Radziwill wrote. “I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy. Next.”

In RHONY‘s tenth season, airing now, Radziwill has had a pretty epic fallout with Frankel, though she’s still friendly with Tinsley Mortimer, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan and Luann de Lesseps.

On Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen Wednesday, Ramona Singer told Cohen she’s “sad” to see Radziwill go.

“I love Carole inside and out. I think she’s really warm, special, down to earth, truthful, giving, kind, supportive of women, genuine, smart fabulous. I’m like, ‘Wow.’ I’m going to miss not being with her doing the next season. It’s going to be a void,” Singer said, shaking her head. “This is going to be a void for me,” Singer added.

He declined to provide details about his next project at this point, saying he would unveil weekly updates via his Instagram account.

Gianluca Flore to Exit Brioni

MILAN — Change is afoot at Brioni: Gianluca Flore is exiting the Italian men’s wear company, WWD has learned.
Parent company Kering Group confirmed the departure, effective Feb. 28, and said that a successor will be “announced in due course.”
According to market sources, Fabrizio Malverdi, chief executive officer of Agent Provocateur, is expected to succeed Flore.
Whoever will lead the storied firm going forward will be tasked with repositioning the brand and has a number of challenges to tackle. The company has been in a state of flux after going through two creative directors in less than a year, confusing customers and retailers. Issues linked to positioning, pricing and communication also weighed on the brand, as did a rationalization of its workforce at its Penne, Italy, headquarters.
Flore, a former Bottega Veneta executive, joined Brioni in November 2014, succeeding Francesco Pesci. Flore handpicked Brioni’s former creative director Justin O’Shea, an appointment that proved to be a major misstep. O’Shea, who had no design experience, abruptly departed the company last October last year, after only six months.
Numerous sources said O’Shea was fired, with observers speculating the reason was that the changes he initiated were not in sync with the brand. The general consensus is that Brioni

Karen Murray to Exit Nautica as Rendle Settles in as VF CEO

Steven Rendle, the new chief executive officer of VF Corp., is starting to make his presence felt and Nautica president Karen Murray is among the first to exit the company under the new regime.
Rendle last month took the reins at the Greensboro, N.C.-based company, succeeding Eric Wiseman. He had been president and chief operating officer.
Late Thursday, shortly after Nautica had shown its fall collection at New York Fashion Week: Men’s, VF said Brendan Sullivan had been named president of sportswear and Murray would become a senior brand adviser to the organization.
Murray, a highly respected industry veteran who has been with VF for just under a decade, did not give a timetable on when she would depart, but will remain through a transition period.
Sullivan was vice president of direct-to-consumer for VF and was based in the company’s headquarters in North Carolina. He will oversee Kipling in addition to Nautica and will report to Curt Holtz, president of Imagewear, Jeans and Sportswear Brands for VF.

How to Plot the Perfect French Exit for the Holidays

The holidays are a time of joy, peace, togetherness, and slipping quietly into the night because you can’t take it anymore.

In my new book Finding Mr. Brightside — click here for a chance to win a copy and a $ 25 gift card — Juliette is incredibly fluent in this kind of French … French exits, that is. A.k.a, leaving without saying goodbye to anyone. Yes, because she doesn’t want to be wherever she is ever, but also out of respect for the fun that others seem to be having despite the brutal circumstances.

Between office parties and family gatherings, you may find yourself in a similar panic-button situation this holiday season. By no means am I endorsing such disappearing acts, but it’s important to be realistic about the likelihood you’ll want to perform one, preferably without a trace.

Here’s how to plot the perfect French Exit for the holidays:

1. Dress in code — forgo your festive frock for camouflage couture. When selecting your outfit for the evening, choose a beta getup that will blend in with the wall paint of the place you’re going.

2. Leave your personal belongings in the car. You don’t need your inflatable-looking puffy coat for the 2-second walk to the front door! Unless you want to go back the next day to explain to the hosts why you left (it). It’s important to travel lightly when plotting a future silent au revoir.

3. Contain your exposure to others who may want to keep track of your whereabouts. Greet only the people you have to — e.g., the hosts — and then graciously survey the premises for all available exits. Maybe grab a carrot stick to be used as an “I’m all settled in now!” prop while you admire the craftsmanship of the doors.

4. Where’s the garage? If you’re trapped inside someone’s lovely home, is there a back door leading to the garage and out into the night? Say hello to your best bet. Garages are great because you can claim to be looking for someone besides your cab driver (the host) or something (trash can) if a fellow partygoer happens to catch you in the act.

5. If you came to the party with a social butterfly type, mistake! You may need to leave them behind, especially if they’re having a weirdly good time. When it’s time to go elsewhere, it’s every Frenchman and Frenchwoman for himself. They shouldn’t be surprised you’ve adopted this mentality unless they’re a complete stranger.

6. If you came to the party with a fellow antisocialite, you’re a genius. But hopefully you two thought of an EXIT! word beforehand. Something mysterious that still gets the point across. Suggestions: Disappearance. Dissipation. Disengagement. D words that evoke a comforting sense of future departure are always perfect.

7. If you’ve made it outside without anyone spotting you, great, but there’s actually a late arrival who’s just pulling in! If they’re familiar with the outline of your face in the darkness, whip out your cell phone and explain that you’ve stepped out to make a call and will be right in. Act like you really don’t want to make the call but it’s serious enough that you don’t have time to catch up because the fake person you’re calling has to be dealt with immediately.

8. Send an apology text the next day. One in which you refuse to make excuses — so selfless of you, plus you don’t really have any — and promise to stay longer than 25 minutes next time.

Have any inspirational French exit success stories of your own? Failures, then? Share them in the Comments section!
