Highlights From the Fall Offering at Pitti Uomo

BRUNELLO CUCINELLI

Brunello Cucinelli
Simone Lezzi/WWD

Designer: Brunello Cucinelli
Inspiration: The luxury label found the inspiration for its new collection in the elegance of the Fifties. Calling the lineup “Gentleman at Ease,” Cucinelli offered a relaxed take on classic tailoring. The brand, which this season enlarged its booth at Pitti Uomo, returned the focus to its wide offering of suits, which ranged from effortless-chic styles targeting the new generation of men to evening options. In keeping with this renewed attention on suits, Cucinelli recently introduced in key stores a made-to-measure program that enables shoppers to create customized tailoring styles while experiencing the brand’s Italian lifestyle in dedicated areas offering high-end facilities and services.
Key Styles: In the suiting range, while jackets were cut close to the body, Fifties-inspired high-waisted pants with double pleats were among a selection of wider, comfortable silhouettes. Fabrics spanned from traditional wools and cashmeres to flannels, corduroy and velvet. Knitwear took center stage with cozy crewneck and V-neck sweaters, sometimes embellished with sporty-chic tennis details that showed rich melange effects. The color palette focused on neutral tones of gray, blue and beige, enriched with accents of warm dark red and deep purple hues. — Alessandra Turra

Alexander McQueen Missing From Paris Men’s Week

SHOW BUSINESS: Big acts missing from the official schedule of Paris Men’s Week in January will include Alexander McQueen. The house plans to switch to a series of intimate events as its new presentation format, WWD has learned. The first will take place in London in May for the fall 2019 season. “Intrinsically connected to the bespoke tailoring heritage of Alexander McQueen men’s wear, these events will be central to the evolution of the house’s commitment to the championing of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation,” the brand said. The house moved to showing in Paris in June 2017 after having shown by appointment in Milan and London in previous seasons.
As expected, Lanvin, which recently parted ways with its men’s creative director Lucas Ossendrijver, is also missing from the lineup, according to the Chambre Syndicale which released its provisional schedule for the week on Friday.
Maison Margiela will also sit out the Paris men’s shows this season as it undergoes a strategic review under chief executive officer Riccardo Bellini, who joined the company in March. The house is believed to be aligning its men’s ready-to-wear collection more closely with its women’s line and Artisanal couture collection. Maison Margiela creative director John Galliano oversees

Sarah Brightman Returns from Space Training for New Album and Tour: ‘I Needed to Earth Myself’

Sarah Brightman is making an astronomical landing with her fifteenth studio album Hymn.

After spending months in Russia training for a trip to outer space that she postponed in 2015, Brightman, 58, opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about the creation of her newest album and the planning stages of her tour.

“I needed to earth myself,” says the soprano singer. “I said I would like to do an album of songs which are full of light, full of hope. Songs that remind me of when I felt safe and familiar with things in my childhood when I sang in my church.”

“If I don’t use and I don’t convey my feelings through it, I feel depleted,” she added. “I don’t function very well and that’s the beauty of having a gift like a voice. You sort of know what to do. You know what direction to take, you know that you want to communicate through it.”

Brightman, who shot to fame after star-turning roles on Broadway musicals Cats and Phantom of the Opera, linked up with producer Frank Peterson for the album-creating process. What came out of two-and-a-half years of planning and recording was the dynamic, choir-filled album, Hymn, out on Nov. 9.

“ is about looking into the good in things because I do believe that good prevails always,” she said, adding that the word “positivity” would describe her album.

“I did experience huge amounts when I was in the space program that actually how precious everything really is on this beautiful planet and how precious that is,” she added.

Now, the “Time to Say Goodbye” vocalist is ready to take Hymn on the road later this fall for a tour that’s “going to be quite beautiful.”

“I have a lot of energy. I tend to before I go on these tours, I become more energetic,” she says. “You create a power for yourself which will protect you because when you go on tour you’re dealing with the hardship of jet lag and moving around continually.”

The “Angel of Music” singer says her set on tour will be divided into two halves. The first will feature a more retrospective aspect to Brightman’s music, which will look like “somebody who is going to the ballet or the opera.” The second will be a bit more modern and feature most of the songs off Hymn.

“I’m wearing all these amazing runway gowns, which I’ve made a little more theatrical by adding things to them. Stones, crystals, all sorts of stuff,” she says. “I’ve got a big choir behind me. Up really high. I’ve got an orchestra on one side, a band on the other side and myself in the middle.”

Brightman’s album is filled with collaborations with artists like French tenor Vincent Niclo on single “Sogni” and Japanese composer Yoshiki on the emotional “Miracle.”

“ is a really interesting guy and we got along very well,” she said. “It was a very interesting collaboration with Japan’s most famous rockstar writing a beautiful contemporary classical piece.”

Along with the collaborations, Brightman’s album jumps from classical and cinematic music to pop rhythms in a cohesive album threaded by its spiritual nature. The album also takes fans back to one of her most famous classics “Time to Say Goodbye” with Andrea Bocelli, which she recreates in a touching English rendition.

“I wrote the lyrics for it but they were very much inspired from the original Italian lyrics when translated,” she said. “It’s quite a grand song, it’s almost like an opera song, but I wanted to do this in a very intimate way.”

Fans can purchase tickets for “Hymn: Sarah Brightman in Concert” through her website.

Woman Paralyzed After Falling Off Cliff While Running from Attacker Will Crutch New York Marathon

Just two years ago, Hannah Gavios lay injured after falling 150 feet from a cliff in Thailand — she didn’t think she’d live, let alone walk again. Now, she’s gearing up to complete the 2018 New York City Marathon.

On Sept. 1, 2016, Gavios fell from the cliff while trying to escape a man attempting to assault her in the southeast Asian country. As she fled the attacker, she fell and lay paralyzed. There, she was held hostage and assaulted for hours, she says.

She was later rescued but suffered a spinal cord injury from the fall. Gavios is now unable use her feet and toes, and her shins have nerve damage.

Her attacker was prosecuted and imprisoned.

“After the news of my injury, one of the most devastating things to hear was I’m unable to run, let alone walk,” Gavios, 25, tells PEOPLE. “But I needed to run again, so I thought the closest thing to that is crutching. I could participate in the race and use what I have to the fullest.”

Earlier this year, while still undergoing intense physical therapy, Gavios decided to participate in the annual marathon. She learned about Amanda Sullivan, who completed the race on crutches in the past, and was inspired to take on the feat herself.

RELATED VIDEO: Desiree Linden, Sarah Sellers steal show at Boston Marathon

“I began training at the end of March. I’d just go out for an hour, the longest I’ve ever is seven hours,” Gavios, a graphic designer in New York City, says.

“The best part of my training is getting into it and having fun with it. The hardest part is stamina, being able to keep it up for as long as possible. There are times I start to ache and my whole body hurts. But I proved to myself that I’m stronger than I think.”

Gavios has joined Team Reeve (of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation) and has raised more than $ 16,000 for the foundation, which supports people living with paralysis and funds research to find a cure. With the race just days away, Gavios says she’s “excited” to participate and start on her next challenge.

“I feel very prepared. I feel like finally the day is coming after all of this effort and energy,” she tells PEOPLE. “My long term goals are to run again. It’s not really over, I have more work to do and more mysteries to solve about spinal cord energy. I want to participate in the cause.”

Sagmeister & Walsh Explore the Power of Beauty with Help from Swarovski at the MAK Museum in Vienna

HIGHLY SENSITIZED: Stefan Sagmeister and Jessica Walsh, the creative duo behind Sagmeister & Walsh, turned to Swarovski for a little reinforcement to create “The Sensory Room.”
The multi-sensory installation is part of the “Sagmeister & Walsh: Beauty” exhibition at the MAK, Austrian Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art in Vienna.
Through March 31, museum visitors will find an exhibition that is rooted in the power of beauty in design. The main attraction is the Sensory Room. Stepping into the crystal-encrusted, white cube-like area, patrons are immersed in fog, beams of color, citrus scents and sound. Combined, the overall effect of all the elements is meant to help visitors relax with a calming and soothing experience. Even the music — song of the Malaysian marsh frog — is meant to help patrons unwind.
The artistic four walls are encased in more than 26,000 Swarovski crystals. The two New York–based designers decided on Chalkwhite for a soft glow with an added luster. In total, Sagmeister & Walsh have chosen 70 items for the exhibition, which consumes most of the MAK on the Stubenring. Near the Selfie Station, visitors have the choice of virtually wearing one of two dresses designed by Mary Katrantzou. The longtime Swarovski collaborator

Kim Bourke and Evan Sturrock are all in.
The co-owners of Joe Bananas, a 40-year-old Australian luxury men’s brand, have picked up stakes, moved halfway around the world to New York and opened their first store on Madison Avenue.
“When Americans dream big, they dream of making it in New York City,” Bourke said. “And when Australians dream big, they dream of making it in New York City.”
And so he and his business partner — and brother-in-law — took the leap of faith, leaving their home, and their two stores in Sydney, to open a 1,600-square-foot space at 943 Madison Avenue, between 74th and 75th streets, next door to The Met Breuer. The store had a soft opening last week and the grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 18.

Megyn Kelly Apologizes Again for Blackface Comments Amid Criticism from Today Colleagues

Megyn Kelly began Wednesday’s episode of Megyn Kelly Today with two words: “I’m sorry.”

Holding back tears, the longtime journalist apologized again after defending white people who wear blackface on Halloween, asking why it was racist, during the show, Tuesday.

“I defended the idea, saying as long as it was respectful and part of a Halloween costume, it seemed okay. Well I am wrong and I am sorry,” she said.

“One of the great parts of sitting in this chair each day is getting to discuss different points of view. Sometimes I talk and sometimes I listen. And yesterday I learned,” Kelly, 47, continued. “I learned that given the history of blackface being used in awful ways by racists in this country it is not okay for that to be part of any costume, Halloween or otherwise.”

She added: “I have never been a PC kind of person. But I do understand the value in being sensitive to our history, particularly on race and ethnicity. This past year has been painful for many people of color. The country feels so divided and I have no wish to add to that pain and offense. I believe this is a time for more understanding, more love, more sensitivity and honor. I want to be part of that. Thank you for listening and for helping me listen too.”

A panel discussion on the issue between Kelly, Roland Martin and Amy Holmes followed the host’s statement — with her admitting at the end, “For my part, I have been listening and learning.”

RELATED: Megyn Kelly Asks if Wearing Blackface on Halloween Is Racist: ‘When I Was a Kid, That Was Okay’

Kelly’s apology came amid backlash for her comments, which were made during a discussion about censoring Halloween costumes with Jacob Soboroff, Melissa Rivers and Jenna Bush Hager during Tuesday’s episode.

“What is racist?” Kelly had asked. “Because truly you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on white face for Halloween. Back when I was a kid, that was okay as long as you were dressing up as like a character.”

“On Halloween, you’ve got guys running around with fake axes coming out of their heads. It’s going to be jarring,” Kelly said on Tuesday. “You gotta be able to take it.”

As an example, Kelly defended Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps, who had previously apologized for wearing a Diana Ross costume on the Bravo show. “Who doesn’t love Diana Ross? She wants to look like Diana Ross for one day, and I don’t know how that got racist on Halloween,” Kelly said.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Twitter was quick to respond, with stars like Patton Oswalt and Padma Lakshmi slamming Kelly’s views on social media.

“I cannot believe the ignorance on this in 2018,” Lakshimi wrote. “You are on national television. You have a responsibility to educate yourself on social issues @megynkelly. This is so damaging.”

Kelly’s Today show colleagues also spoke out about her comments during Today‘s 7 a.m. hour.

“The fact is, she owes a bigger apology to folks of color around the county,” Al Roker said. “This is a history, going back to the 1830s minstrel shows. To demean and denigrate a race wasn’t right. I’m old enough to have lived through Amos ‘n’ Andy where you had white people in blackface playing two black characters just magnifying the stereotypes about black people. And that’s what the big problem is. … No good comes from it. It’s just not right.”

“She said something stupid, she said something indefensible,” added Craig Melvin.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Prior to Wednesday’s show, Kelly had issued an apology to her NBC colleagues in an internal email.

“One of the wonderful things about my job is that I get the chance to express and hear a lot of opinions. Today is one of those days where listening carefully to other points of view, including from friends and colleagues, is leading me to rethink my own views,” Kelly began in her email, obtained by PEOPLE.

“When we had the roundtable discussion earlier today about the controversy of making your face look like a different race as part of a Halloween costume, I suggested that this seemed okay if done as part of this holiday where people have the chance to make themselves look like others. The iconic Diana Ross came up as an example. To me, I thought, why would it be controversial for someone dressing up as Diana Ross to make herself look like this amazing woman as a way of honoring and respecting her?” she continued.

Kelly acknowledged that she now realizes “that such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry. The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep.”

The former Fox News anchor concluded by telling the NBC News staff that she is “honored to work with all of you every day.”

Sotheby’s Paris Preps Fourth Auction of Books From Pierre Bergé’s Personal Library

BERGE’S BOOKENDS: If reading is the key to enlightenment, Pierre Bergé sure had a lot of books to spark his intelligence.
Sotheby’s Paris will hold the fourth auction for a selection of books from Bergé’s personal collection on Dec. 14. Several choice lots are on view at Sotheby’s New York office through Saturday, and they illustrated the myriad interests of the late French business titan: botany, gardens, philosophy, activism and more. The upcoming auction is expected to drum up between 5 million euros and 6 million euros, according to a Sotheby’s spokeswoman.
Literature, the 19th century and music were among the areas of interest covered in prior sales, with the first auction having been held nearly three years ago.
The December sale includes such highlights as Bartholomeus Anglicus’ “Le Propriétaire des choses,” circa 1486. This complete copy of a major medieval encyclopedia is illustrated with 19 large woodcuts, all hand-colored at that time. Bidders will also find Gustave Flaubert’s “Salammbô” from 1863, a first edition that was inscribed by Flaubert to the composer Hector Berlioz.
Another reading relic is Leonhart Fuchs’ “De historia stirpium commentarii insignes” from 1542 that is considered to be the founding treatise of modern botany. The auction house will also

Luke Hemsworth Picks Up Crocodile Dundee Mantle from Brother Chris in Ad for Tourism Australia

Luke Hemsworth is picking up where younger brother Chris left off.

In a PEOPLE exclusive video, the Westworld actor stars in an extension of Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home — the mock trailer for a reboot of the Crocodile Dundee franchise that was actually an ad for Tourism Australia.

Hemsworth, clad in khaki-colored gear, explores the sets of the film and highlights the wondrous regions of the country for the Government of Australia agency responsible for promoting the country to the world as a destination for business and leisure travel.

In an interview with PEOPLE, the 37-year-old actor says there are several things first-time visitors to the country should take a look at.

“I think the number one thing you have to go see is Uluru,” Hemsworth says of the massive sandstone monolith located in Australia’s “Red Centre.”

“Once you’ve done that in the center of Australia and once you’ve gotten dirtied by red gusts, go wash off in the oceans and go surfing,” he suggests. “You can’t go to Australia and not go surfing. And drink red wine or beer!”

The Melbourne-raised actor says he had good reason to join the campaign.

“There’s something about Australia, it’s primal and it’s old and you can’t help but stand out there in the middle of nowhere and be struck by the vast beauty of it,” he says. “It’s very unique. It’s obviously very near to my heart.”

RELATED: Chris Hemsworth Meets Crocodile Dundee’s Son in Exclusive Teaser for Australian Mystery Comedy

As for whether his and Chris’ videos are a setup for a new Dundee film, Hemsworth says he’d have no problem with that.

“I hope so! Can I be in it?” he says, laughing.

Luke is the oldest Hemsworth brother, followed by Thor star Chris, 35, and younger brother Liam, 28.

John Lennon’s Imagine: Yoko Ono Reflects on Tracks from the Enduring Classic

Each year around Oct. 9, millions across the globe come together to honor the life and legacy of John Lennon on what would be his birthday. But this year fans had another reason to celebrate: the late legend’s solo masterwork Imagine received a lush multimedia reissue, providing unparalleled insight into one of Lennon’s greatest artistic achievements and, ultimately, his musical epitaph.

The album topped the charts worldwide upon its initial release in September 1971, giving the former Beatle his first number one under his own name. His solo debut, the previous year’s John Lennon/Plastic Ono Bandwas a searing confessional, recorded in the wake of an excruciating bout of experimental Primal Scream therapy. Though possessing a raw beauty, Lennon’s self-lacerating lyrics, probing the darkest part of his psyche, made it ill-suited for the contemporary hit parade.

Imagine, with its delicately wrought title track, was aimed squarely at the charts. Just as he and Yoko Ono — his partner in life, love and art — parlayed their fame to promote peace through the medium of celebrity-driven mass media, Lennon drew upon his unparalleled gift for melody and Ono’s singular gift for poetry to craft a utopian anthem for the Top 40. “Now I understand what you have to do: put your political message across with a little honey,” he later said.

Sessions for the album primarily took place in May 1971 at Ascot Sound Studios, a custom-built facility installed at Tittenhurt Park, the couple’s sprawling country estate outside London. This pioneering exercise in home studio recording went a long way in contributing to the gentle feel of the album. With Phil Spector — the infamous architect behind the so-called “Wall of Sound” — co-producing with Lennon and Ono, guest musicians were called in as needed, on a casual rotating basis.

More of often than not, the players were old friends. Klaus Voormann, a confidant of the Beatles’ since their days playing Hamburg’s Reeperbahn circuit a decade earlier, was enlisted to handle bass duties, while London session player Nicky Hopkins commanded the keys. Harrison turned up to play lead on half the tracks, including the Paul McCartney-bashing “How Do You Sleep,” and members of Badfinger — then signed to the Beatles’ Apple Records label — also put in an appearance, as did Mike Pinder of the Moody Blues. When they weren’t busy recording, the gang could often be found hanging out in the mansion’s homey kitchen located just off the studio. “It was really like home-cooking, that’s how Imagine was made,” Ono later reflected.

Consisting of four CDs, 2 Blu-Ray discs and a detailed book, Imagine: The Ultimate Collection offers rare demos, outtakes, and loose jams from the sessions, plus remixes of the original album skillfully handled by engineers Paul Hicks and Rob Stevens. The most unique elements of the collection are the innovative “Evolution” montages of each track, which edit together the earliest acoustic sketches and rehearsals through studio false starts and dead ends, all the way to the finished product. The result is a thrilling musical tour from conception to completion, allowing listeners to hear the song take shape through every step of the way.

Released on the heels of the box set is a hard-cover coffee table book, featuring intimate, never-before-seen photos curated by Ono herself, and reminiscences from nearly everyone involved with the album’s production. And if that’s not enough to satisfy your curiosity about this creatively fertile period (a “small hurricane” as Lennon once described it), a pair of documentaries — Imagine and Gimme Some Truth — have received a limited theatrical re-release, as well as a DVD reissue from Eagle Rock Entertainment.

The stunning assortment brings fans as close as humanly possible to those spring days inside Ascot Sound Studios when rock history was made. To be sure, PEOPLE spoke someone who actually was there — and played a seminal role in the creation of Imagine. In addition to co-producing the album, Yoko Ono co-wrote “Oh My Love” and also the title track. She graciously went track by track through Imagine, answering questions via email.

“Imagine”

The seeds of the lyrics for “Imagine” are taken from “Cloud Piece” in your book Grapefruit — what is it about the act of “imagining” that’s so powerful?

Because now we are like people in jail, we have to use our power in a stronger way.

“Crippled Inside”

What are some of the best ways that we can heal and not be so crippled emotionally?

Once we decide that we can heal ourselves, not leaning on anybody else, and focus our attention on that, we will come out healed.

“Jealous Guy”

Was it hard for two strong artists to co-exist in the same (psychic and literal) space? How do you ensure there’s enough energy for your relationship, but also for yourself and your work?

We had to be extremely wise and knowing that we are both very strong people. We also decided that we should not use our energy to fight with each other.

“It’s So Hard”

I always had the impression that “It’s So Hard” is the inverse of “Imagine” — all the day-to-day troubles that get in the way of our peace of mind. How do you manage with daily stresses and keep a clear head and peaceful soul?

I just found a way to do it.

“I Don’t Wanna Be a Soldier”

For so long, “manhood” has been linked with the capacity to kill. How do you feel we can move past this brand of toxic masculinity?

We have to really understand what men can do to make the world beautiful. The big mistake we make is to make men be what they don’t want to be. And vice versa.

“Gimme Some Truth”

In the eyes of many fans, John experienced a “political awakening” in the early ‘70s. How much of that do you feel was your influence?

I think I’d like you to imagine how much of it was me.

“Oh My Love”

In the past, you’ve named “Oh My Love” as one of your favorite songs of John’s. What is it about it that’s so special to you?

The reason is very clear, isn’t it?

“How Do You Sleep?”

What did you think about “How Do You Sleep?” at the time? Did you have any reservations about it?

No, because it’s a beautiful song.

“How?”

As one of the billions who love him, I always found this line particular affecting: “How can I give love when love is something I never had?” Why do you feel that so many people have such a hard time accepting love?

It was what John experienced too as a young boy. People are scared that the love offered to them may not be true.

“Oh Yoko!”

You’ve said that the two of you shared an almost psychic connection. In what ways did you think alike?

When we were creating a song we quite often realized that we were thinking the same thing.

Camila Mendes Shares How She Recovered from Bulimia and Why Rihanna Is Her Body-Positive Icon

Riverdale star Camila Mendes is sharing more about her struggles with bulimia — and how she’s found her path to happiness.

The 24-year-old tells SHAPE why she talks about her eating disorder on social media. “I realized that I have this platform, and young women and men who look up to me, and there is a tremendous power to do something positive with it,” the cover star says. “It was definitely a very vulnerable thing to put that out there to almost 12 million people on social media. But that’s who I am. That’s me being authentically myself.”

Mendes says she struggled specifically with bulimia when she was in high school, college and when she started working in Hollywood, calling her relationship with food “emotional” and anxiety-provoking.

“I was so scared of carbs that I wouldn’t let myself eat bread or rice ever. I’d go a week without eating them, then I would binge on them, and that would make me want to purge,” Mendes says. “If I ate a sweet, I would be like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not going to eat for five hours now.’ I was always punishing myself. I was even anxious about healthy food: Did I eat too much of the avocado? Did I have too many fats for one day? I was consumed with the details of what I was eating, and I always felt as if I was doing something wrong.”

Mendes says meeting with a therapist and nutritionist nearly a year ago has helped her stress: “The voices in my head never completely go away. They’re just way quieter now.”

She adds: “My nutritionist completely cured my fear of carbs. She was like, ‘You need a balanced amount of good, healthy carbs in your life. Have a piece of toast in the morning; have some quinoa at lunch. When you’re eating a little of them all the time, you won’t have this crazy urge to binge. You won’t be scared of carbs anymore because you’re going to realize that eating them isn’t going to make you gain weight.’”

RELATED: Riverdale‘s Camila Mendes on Being ‘Done with Dieting’: ‘I’m Gonna Stick to This

In addition to taking pilates and yoga classes that put her in a “great mood,” the actress says seeing other women in Hollywood embrace their curves is also motivating for her.

“This body-positivity movement we’re having right now is so amazing, and it’s helping me so much. I’m seeing all these people who I look up to, like Rihanna, open up about their weight fluctuations and loving themselves the way they are. That makes me love myself more too,” she says.

RELATED VIDEO: Lili Reinhart Responds to Pregnancy Rumors: I ‘Will Never Apologize’ for ‘My Body’

Mendes—who now works with Project HEAL, a nonprofit organization that helps people suffering with eating disorders pay for treatment—was previously vocal about body positivity in March when Cosmopolitan Philippines photoshopped both her and her costar Lili Reinhart on their cover.

“I think Lili and I were the most shocked — we were the most shocked about the fact that they would knowing how much we speak about body positivity to our fans, and how much we love to talk about that,” Mendes said. “I’m so happy with the way that I am and I don’t think that was necessary. It’s never necessary to change your body. People know what I look like, I take photos on my own and I don’t edit them so people know. Stop trying to lie to people, you know?”

Holly Madison Splits from Husband Pasquale Rotella After Almost 5 Years of Marriage: Sources

Holly Madison and Pasquale Rotella are going their separate ways almost five years after their fairytale wedding, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE.

An insider says the pair split over the summer, with another source revealing that Madison is now based in Los Angeles and “doing okay.”

A rep for Madison did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The former Playboy model and Electric Daisy Carnival founder began dating in 2011, welcoming daughter Rainbow Aurora in March 2013.

The couple tied the knot in October 2013 in an extravagant Disneyland ceremony — they even rode in Cinderella’s glass pumpkin coach — and welcomed a second child, son Forest Leonardo Antonio, in August 2016.

Madison, 38, met Rotella, 44, after leaving the Playboy Mansion — and boyfriend Hugh Hefner, who died in September 2017 at the age of 91 — in 2008, moving to Las Vegas to pursue a career as a burlesque dancer.

“I thought he was going to die,” Braun said candidly about Bieber, 24, in the discussion released Wednesday. “I thought he was going to go to sleep one night and have so much crap in his system that he would not wake up the next morning.”

Braun explained, “There was a time where I would go to sleep almost every night, when he had the money to fly away from me, and I was worried every night that I was going to lose him.”

Braun said he tried to save Bieber by keeping him from his music. “That was the time where I was telling him he’s not allowed to work,” Braun recalled. “And he used to yell and scream at me. He wanted to put music out, he wanted to tour, but I thought if he did that, he would die. So I just refused. We weren’t making any money … I didn’t want him to work because I wanted him to get healthy.”

Braun says that Bieber, who is engaged to Hailey Baldwin, is now in a much healthier place, all thanks to Bieber’s own determination. “I think that he made a conscious choice for himself to change,” Braun shared. “It wasn’t until one day he woke up and said, ‘Hey, I need to talk to you. I don’t want to be this person anymore.’ He made the decision to change and actually put that into action. The result is who he’s become today.”

In March 2013, after a week in which Bieber was treated for shortness of breath mid-show and lunged at a photographer, a source told PEOPLE, “He’s wildin’ out. On a scale of hot sauce, he’s a mild, but his money is so hot, it can get him anything.”

The next month, police raided Bieber’s tour bus in Sweden and confiscated drugs.

Then, in January 2014, Bieber’s home was raided by police after he allegedly threw eggs at a neighbor’s house.

Weeks later, he was arrested in Miami for DUI. “Mr. Bieber made a statement that he had consumed some alcohol, and that he had been smoking marijuana and had consumed some prescription medication,” a Miami Beach Police spokesperson said at the time.

“The people close to him try, but he’s a mess,” an industry source told PEOPLE in 2014. “He acts as though he’s never heard the word ‘no’ and he thinks he’s God.”

Speaking on Lathan’s The Red Pill podcast, Braun reflected on the scrutiny Bieber’s behavior received. “I think Justin is an extraordinary young man who has been given an extraordinary life, and because of that he cannot complain that he’s held to extraordinary standards,” Braun said. “He used to complain, he used to fight it, and that’s kind of what got him into a dark place.”

Braun continued, “But when he accepted his responsibility and took a hard look at himself and not what everyone else was doing, that’s when he owned it, and he got healthy, and he got better, and he made the choice to change.”

Zac Posen Presents Spring — With a Little Help From Friends

Like lots of designers, Zac Posen wears many hats. In fact, he says it shakes out to 16 collections a year. He designs for Brooks Brothers; recently updated the uniforms at Delta Air Lines; released a cookbook; judges on “Project Runway,” and released a documentary. But it was his namesake label that started it all.
To present that collection for spring 2019, Posen is once again forgoing a traditional runway show — something he has done for several seasons — in favor of images and a film. The difference this season is that the film has a more narrative- and character-driven feeling. Gia Coppola shot the piece, with Maya Hawke as muse. To Posen, Hawke was more than just a subject — both she and Coppola are close personal friends, and Hawke, who was looped in and confirmed while he was still designing the collection, helped to influence his designs for the season. So spring 2019 was a family affair.
“The original Zac girl is a creative free spirit. When I think of my early muses, this collection has almost come full circle to that idea. It’s not grande dame, or overt glamour, there is a new side to it,” he says

Lingerie Is Getting a Lift From Newcomers Harnessing Digital, Fit Technologies

LONDON — A sea change in how women view bras — along with fit technologies and social media — is helping a clutch of direct-to-consumer entrants make headway in the lingerie category as some of its brick-and-mortar stalwarts grapple with slowing sales.
This includes American lingerie brand Lively, founded by a former Victoria’s Secret executive, who spied an opportunity in more inclusive brand messaging and fit innovations.
“Victoria’s Secret owns a third to 40 percent, depending on what data you look at, of the U.S. lingerie market, which is around $ 13 billion,” said Michelle Cordeiro Grant, founder and chief executive officer of Lively. According to Zion Market Research, the global lingerie market was valued at $ 38.9 billion in 2017 and is expected to reach $ 59.5 billion by 2024.
Cordeiro Grant is a former Victoria’s Secret executive and it was during her time at the brand that she noticed a potential for differentiation in the sector. Sales were down 5 percent across Victoria Secret stores in the U.S. and Canada for 2018, according to L Brands’ June 2018 sales report.
“Their point of view on lingerie is how do women feel when their significant other is looking at them. What I felt from a branding

From the Plastic Straw Void Comes $300 Luxury Versions

Behold the $ 300 straw.
Seizing on the plastic straw ban, which have been widely declared an environmental nuisance, fashion firms are stepping up to offer fancy versions of metal straws — some painted with colorful stripes, others dipped in gold. Already two jewelry companies are leveraging their expertise in precious metals to create straws that enable them to “join the conversation.”
Tiffany & Co. introduced one in the fall as part of its Everyday Objects collection of home items designed by Reed Krakoff. Curlicue like a piglet’s tail, it comes in yellow and rose gold vermeil as well as pure sterling silver, priced between $ 250 and $ 350.
“As plastic waste continues to pose a serious threat to our oceans, we’re proud to offer these enduring and finely crafted precious metal straws as an ocean-friendly alternative for sipping in style,” Tiffany’s chief sustainability officer Anisa Kamadoli Costa told WWD.

Some Reddit commenters wondered if the Tiffany design signaled a larger cultural shift. “Should the term change to ‘born with a silver straw in his mouth’?” pondered Grafter8.
This week, men’s jewelry brand Miansai joined the movement. The company launched artisanal straws, fabricated of brass or copper that sell for
