Nintendo Reassures Investors That Its 2018 Lineup Hasn’t Been Fully Revealed

Looks like Nintendo has more tricks up its sleeve for 2018.

At its most recent general meeting of shareholders former President Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that Nintendo had unannounced “products” in the pipeline that the company plans to release before the end of this year’s holiday season. As translated by DualShockers, Kimishima said that it’s not yet time to announce the full lineup.

Kimishima offered reassurances to shareholders, who had grown wary after Nintendo’s somewhat lackluster E3 announcements caused the company’s stock to sink.

Yep, Fully Stackable Legos You Can Eat Actually Do Exist

Sometimes, brilliance comes in bite-sizes.

Just take a look at the inspiring video above, brought to you by Youtuber Grant Thompson, a DIY scientist and self-described “King of Random.”

With the right molds, some gelatin and patience, Thompson demonstrates how to make Lego-shaped Jell-O blocks at home that aren’t just delicious, they’re completely stackable, too — “as long as you can resist the temptation to snack on them first,” Thompson adds.

lego hand

In the video, Thompson uses Lego-shaped ice cube trays and his own silicon-based mold shaped out of real Lego bricks, and makes the whole process look unbelievably easy.

By heating the Jell-O mixture over a slow heat, the gummy sections come out extra clear and not at all as sticky as you might think, which makes them perfect for stacking.

“You can see there’s a surprising amount of detail captured in the gummy snack, and they’re not sticky at all but actually quite firm — and they smell delicious,” Thompson says in the video.

For tips on how to make your own Lego mold out of silicon like the one featured in the video, this Instructables post has you covered. Thompson added vitamin C powder to his Jell-O mix for a healthy boost, but we think a little vodka would go great for your next grown-up party.

The Art of Being Alive Series: Live Fully Alive and Awake

2015-01-01-1.jpg
The feature image photo credits: Brie Seavey, Olga Dossa, Gvantsa Mamatsashvili, and Ellie Savoy. (Edited by Adedayo) The image used is with their permission along with their stories submitted for purposes of the book and related work with “The Art of Being Alive” project.

This is a continuation of the first entry in this series “The Art of Being Alive: What does it mean to come Alive?” so if you missed that, please check that out first.

I believe that there are solutions to our anxieties and our fears; and having conversations regarding issues that matter like this creates an avenue for solutions to become apparent.

One of the most prominent motivational speaker today, the bestselling author of The Charge: Activating the 10 human drives that make you feel alive Brendon Buchard has three questions that he says got him awake to life and sparked his desire to live fully alive; he said “At the end of our lives, we will all ask, ‘Did I live?’ ‘Did I love?’ ‘Did I matter?’ How profound! I believe that is the question that will bring us to our realization as to how we choose to come alive and what the “art of being alive” means to us respectively.

It is everyone’s desire to matter, to live fully alive and awake, and one of the ways to start feeling more alive is I believe begins by focusing on as little or much of what our daily practices look and feel like. Just as Mike Murdock quotes that “The secret of our future is hidden in our daily routine,” hence our daily practices matter like gratitude and carving our meaningful connections, our consciousness about how we live, what we eat and who we are, awareness about our environment and awakening to the life we are living is crucial to our happiness and our well-being.

In her book Thrive, Arianna Huffington, a woman I personally admire says:

A life that embraces the third metric is one lived in a way that’s mindful of our eventual eulogy… changing deeply ingrained habits is especially difficult, and when many of these habits are the products of deeply ingrained cultural norms, it is even harder. This is the challenge we face in redefining success…

Only the failure to strategically control the contents of your consciousness keeps you from feeling the consistent internal charge of being fully alive, engaged, connected and fulfilled. — Brendon Buchard

What it means to come alive is to understand the points that we are in our lives, our degree of consciousness, awareness and awakening. What lights us up? What makes us feel free? How are we showing up every day in the world in relation to our goals, ambition and desire? What daily practices and habits are we infusing into our daily lives to optimize our well-being?

Are we connecting socially, are we serving as agents of change towards a greater good or are we just all about self? Are we doing things to improve our physical health like exercise and good nutrition or are we so much disconnected from ourselves that we don’t take notice of the impact of these things? Are we being creative, exercising our creative energies that takes us into a FLOW or are we mindless TV addicts? Do we take time to step out into nature and just appreciate the art of the things that have been given to us free? How are we using our pain experiences to serve us in a purposeful manner, or are we choosing to remain the victim that undermines our experiences which inevitably always serve as the source that brings out our life’s awakenings?

I believe there is so much to explore with the “art of being alive,” I don’t think there will ever be an ending to this project except for constant breakthroughs that will create epiphanies for us. This new quest to define what it means to live fully alive has only just begun. As a result I will be interviewing people from all walks of life and background, to explore what it means to come alive, to feel fully alive and awake to all that life has to offer us.

Your story to how you have found a meaningful way to come alive is needed to make this project viable. Please share your story using this link so your voice can be heard and be part of the game-changers making a difference.

Notes: Three ways you can be a part of the evolving of the project:

First Nighter: David Auburn’s Lost Lake Not Fully Found

Logan (John Hawkes) and Veronica (Tracie Thoms) don’t exactly meet cute. They meet awkward. They meet uncertain. They meet at cross-purposes. And they stay that way and don’t stay that way in David Auburn’s not entirely absorbing Lost Lake at Manhattan Theatre Club’s City Center Stage 1.

Where they meet is in the lakeside cabin (J. Michael Griggs designed it well) that Veronica, a nurse with a career setback, is evaluating as the ideal place for a short getaway she can plan for her and her children. Logan owns the cabin — occasionally occupying it himself and making necessary repairs — and it’s his to rent when and if he so desires.

In the two-hander’s intermissionless 90 minutes, Logan and Veronica get to know each other. And Auburn’s best achievement here is that he keeps the audience guessing whether they’re going to become romantically involved. If they do won’t be vouchsafed here, although it’s fair to say that one of the play’s funniest lines — “You’re kidding, right?” — may or may not be a clue to that outcome.

Mostly, Lost Lake is about the many getting-to-know-you exchanges that take place between them. As the chatter ambles along, the information includes more about how Veronica got into her trouble and what Logan has done to put him in hot water with, among others, a brother.

The time covered extends from Veronica’s first sighting of the cabin through her occupancy (the children never seen, of course) to a visit she makes the following winter because she’s received a large sum of money in the mail from Logan and not only wishes to return it but is also concerned about his well-being.

Incidentally, that drop-in is preceded by a coup de theatre that could be the comedy-drama’s most exciting occurrence. It won’t be described, other than to say anyone who’s dozed off during the many Veronica-Logan conversations will be jolted from their reverie when the whatever-is-not-being -described takes place.

Auburn — whose Proof, which debuted at MTC, won the Tony, the Pulitzer and the New York Drama Critics Circle awards — tips this work’s intent in his title. The protagonists are two lost souls looking for ways out of their situations and needing assistance to make recoveries.

So this is one of those plays in which the metaphorically blind lead the other metaphorically blind to some higher, safer ground. Perhaps they don’t lead each other to the highest, safest ground, but at least progress is achieved. As such, it’s not the best example of the genre, nor is it the worst.

Also, as such, it’s probably not going to put Auburn in the running again for any of the citations mentioned above. Considered with Proof and his last Broadway outing, The Columnist (being Joseph Alsop), it’s a noticeable change of pace. Somehow, those works promise more from him than this mild offering delivers.

Daniel Sullivan, who’s formed a meaningful and rewarding partnership with Auburn much like those he’s forged with other contemporary playwrights, does well with the material he’s been handed. He gets the right performances from Hawkes and Thoms. They’re both expert at showing the way in which being tentative is often a primary personality trait. They make Logan and Veronica appealing to spectators even as the characters may not think as much of themselves or each other.
