Who Is Brad Falchuk? Get to Know Gwyneth Paltrow’s New Husband

After Gwyneth Paltrow married Brad Falchuk in the Hamptons on Saturday following four years of dating, many are curious to know more about the 47-year-old writer-producer.

The couple went public with their romance in April 2015 at Robert Downey Jr.’s 50th birthday bash, after a year of flying under the radar with their relationship.

A source close to the actress previously told PEOPLE, “She’s crazy about Brad.” Though the source said that she’s “cautious about marriage” and “very happy with how things are,” it wasn’t “out of the question” for the couple to walk down the aisle in the future.

Following their weekend nuptials, get to know Paltrow’s new husband.

He’s worked with Ryan Murphy for years

Falchuk began his television career as a writer, working on a few short-lived series before joining the season 1 writing staff of Murphy’s FX series Nip/Tuck in 2003. From there, the two formed a strong bond — teaming up to create Glee (2009), Scream Queens (2015) and the Connie Britton/Angela Bassett-led 9-1-1 for Fox, as well as the horror anthology series American Horror Story (2011) for FX.

He met Paltrow on the set of Glee

It was on Glee where Falchuk and Paltrow would meet, as she joined the show in 2010 for a season 2 guest spot to play lackadaisical substitute teacher Holly Holliday. The appearance went so well that Paltrow would reprise her role as Holliday three more times, including the show’s 100th episode in 2014.

All in all, she covered 10 tracks on the show — from Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)” and Prince’s “Kiss” to Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” She later performed her most popular cover, Cee-Lo Green’s “Forget You,”  live with Green in the 2011 Grammy Awards.

So far there haven’t been any shots of Brody and Isabella with Paltrow’s two kids with the rocker — daughter Apple, 14, and son Moses, 12 — whom she shares with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Speaking of sharing about loved ones on social media, Falchuk sure hasn’t shied away from expressing his love for Paltrow on Instagram.

In honor of her 46th birthday on Thursday, he penned a gushing tribute to his soon-to-be-wife.

“It’s this timeless beauty’s birthday today. She was born with endless gifts – big blue eyes, a brain and heart overflowing with curiosity, generosity and possibility and those heartbreakingly long legs that go on and on – but she never rests on any of them.”

For Paltrow’s 44th birthday, he praised her as “the most beautiful woman of all time. “We are all so lucky that she came into the world (but no one is luckier than me). Happy Birthday, Love,” he captioned on Instagram.

Gwyneth Paltrow Reflects on Relationship with ex Ben Affleck: ‘He Was Very Much a Lesson’

Gwyneth Paltrow is dishing on a former — and very famous — ex of hers.

The Oscar winner, who’s now engaged to Brad Falchuk, was asked about her relationship to ex Ben Affleck while speaking to Howard Stern on his SiriumXM radio show on Wednesday.

“How did you know not to marry him? You were never in love with him,” Stern asked of Affleck, who Paltrow dated on-and-off from 1997 to 2000.

“It’s interesting, I think there’s certain boyfriends where you are trying to work stuff out, right?” she replied. “Like, you’re trying to heal certain stuff from your childhood and he was very much a lesson in that way”

“I’m not sure exactly what I was trying to heal in that instance, but it was…he was, you know, it was specific,” the 45-year-old continued.

This doesn’t mark the first time the actress has opened up to Stern about the Justice League star. In 2015, she told the comedian on his podcast that Affleck “was not in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend” at the time.” She said her parents “were OK with the two of us not being together,” although they “appreciated how he’s super intelligent.”

During Wednesday’s chat, Paltrow also let it slip that she and Falchuk aren’t planning on having children together.

“This is his second marriage … Neither of us wants more kids,” the mother of two said.

“We’re on the same team,” Paltrow added.

Paltrow shares son Moses Bruce Anthony, 12, and daughter Apple Blythe Alison, 14, with her consciously uncoupled-from ex-husband Chris Martin. Falchuk shares son Brody and daughter Isabella with ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik, whom he was married to for 10 years before filing for divorce in March 2013.

Gwyneth Paltrow Celebrated Her Bachelorette Weekend at this Not-Yet-Open Luxury Resort

Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her last days as a single lady in style.

Though she was married once before, to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, from whom she consciously uncoupled in 2014, the mom of two still fit in some quality bachelorette time with her closest pals before she ties the knot with fiancé Brad Falchuk.

Prior to the couple’s star-studded engagement party in Los Angeles on Saturday, Paltrow arrived in Cabo, Mexico, on Wednesday and checked into the luxurious Four Seasons Costa Palmas resort. She and a group of girlfriends enjoyed some spa time and hung out outdoors in white robes embroidered with their initials while sipping rosé.

The actress and Goop guru booked a stay despite the property seemingly not yet being open for business. It’s scheduled to open in 2018, according to Forbes, but doesn’t yet offer any reservations on its website. A representative for the Four Seasons did not immediately reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Despite this, Paltrow has already visited the exclusive hotel at least once before what she describes on Instagram as her “#henweekend.” GP and then-boyfriend Falchuk toured the property back in 2017, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Busy Philipps and Colin Hanks among others were also invited to get a VIP sneak peek of the 1,000-acre property on the Sea of Cortez.

Costa Palmas is located on the east coast of the Baja Peninsula, apart from most of the vacation destination’s hotels. In addition to the 145-room Four Seasons hotel, the planned resort community also includes private residences, a marina capable of docking super-yachts and an 18-hole golf course, according to Forbes.

The setting features 2 miles of picturesque white-sand beaches — a rarity in the area — as well as organic orchards and farms. There’s also a second luxury hotel next door, Amanvari, part of the international Aman chain, a celeb favorite.

In January, Paltrow and Falchuk announced their engagement on the cover of Goop Magazine’Sex & Love issue after dating for over three years.

Jade Eggs and Psychic Mediums: Dispatches from Gwyneth Paltrow’s $2,000 N.Y.C. Goop Summit

Hundreds of Goop acolytes (fondly called Goopies) descended on Pier 17 in New York City on Saturday for the first-ever East Coast edition of Gywneth Paltrow‘s In Goop Health summit.

The wellness conference, which had its inaugural event in Los Angeles last June, is filled with everything you’d expect from a Goop event — turmeric chia pudding, psychic mediums contacting dead relatives and of course, the infamous jade eggs — for $ 650 to $ 2,000 a ticket. But beyond all the Goopiness, there was also a strong message of female empowerment, thanks largely to a powerful panel of women like Drew Barrymore, Elaine Welteroth and more.

So did I, your on-the-ground reporter, drink the Goop kool-aid? Read on for a rundown of my day in wellnessland.

8:30 a.m.: I arrive at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, where I’m greeted by at least 20 Goop employees on my way in to the airy loft space that is summit central. After checking in, we’re instructed to swap out our shoes for a fluffy pair of slippers, an offer most of the room happily accepts. After passing the highly Instagrammable entrance (the words “In Goop Health” are surrounded by pounds of fresh vegetables), we enter a massive hall, which is filled with dozens of food and wellness options, from facial cupping to B-12 shots to Moon Juice to avocado toast.

9 a.m.: Ahead of the day, we all signed up for three wellness activities (which seemed to cut down on the long lines the L.A. summit-goers dealt with last year). I was late to the sign-up so I unfortunately missed out on some of the Goopiest activites, like the psychic readings. But I headed off for my first activity, essential oil therapy. It ended up being just a few dabs of UMA’s Pure Energy oil, but hey, at least it smelled nice.

9:10 a.m.-10 a.m.: I wander around aimlessly for a bit, snacking on the plentiful foods. A citrus salad with tahini-yogurt dressing was definitely my favorite, and I confirmed that I hate matcha. Good to know.

10 a.m.: Paltrow herself (or GP, as they seemed to prefer to call her) kicked off the day with a big welcome to her “Goopies,” whom she said like numbers and science, but also enjoy unquantifiable areas like psychic readings. “I think we like the in-between of data and the unexplained,” Paltrow told the audience. “There isn’t always a double-blind study that can explain it.”

She then introduced Laura Lynne Jackson, a psychic medium who roamed the room looking for people who, as she explained, have friends and relatives from the afterlife with messages to share. The first two women didn’t seem particularly into it, but the second two “shared a similar energy” to Jackson and excitedly nodded along. And she also predicted a Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl win, so place your bets now!

11 a.m.: The first panel was also on the afterlife, which personally was not my cup of tea. But I was very interested in the next one, on diet and body, with several dietitians and physicians. They had plenty of helpful tips, like focusing on eating the rainbow rather than worrying about calories, and to practice mindful eating by using your non-dominant hand to hold a fork.

RELATED VIDEO: Gwyneth Paltrow Says She’s Moving Away from Acting to Focus on Goop: ‘This Really Requires Almost All of My Time’

12:35 p.m.: My ticket got me into the upper-tier, or “ginger” events, so lunch was in a room off the main hall, and we all noshed on bowls of roasted delicata squash, kale salad with yogurt, gluten-free tamales and more alongside Paltrow and actresses Laura Linney and Bryce Dallas Howard, who were both on panels during the day.

1:30 p.m.: I spot a woman taking a nap on one of the couches. That is a very expensive nap.

1:40 p.m.: I’m pretty full, but I signed up for a Pilates class with New York Pilates instructor Heather Anderson. She’s fantastic and the 30-minute class flies by.

2:30 p.m.: My second pre-booked activity is a manicure from toxin-free nail salon Côte. I go with a very New York grey.

2:45 p.m.: Paltrow runs a discussion on relationships with therapist Terry Real. The woman next to me and I were hoping for a mention of her recent engagement to producer Brad Falchuk, but no dice. Real then takes a couple through a live marriage therapy session and it’s pretty drama-free — they seem like they’ll be just fine.

3:45 p.m.: I eat vegan charcoal ice cream…and it’s delicious.

4 p.m.: The panel on stress and depression was making me more stressed, so I left and wandered around instead, admiring the fancy skincare products and cashmere sneakers for sale in the Goop store area.

4:30 p.m.: I eat more vegan charcoal ice cream.

5 p.m.: Time for the main event — a panel on “changing the female paradigm,” moderated by Paltrow with Barrymore, Welteroth, comedian Chelsea Handler, Linney and author Gillian Flynn. I wasn’t sure how open the women would be, but the discussion ended up being incredibly empowering and motivating. They started off on the sexual harassment reckoning going on in Hollywood (Linney said it was something she was aware of for years), and touched on how we got to the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements (Handler convincingly argued that it happened because of the 2016 election), how to mobilize and get out the vote this year and the growing activism of young girls thanks to Welteroth’s ground-breaking work at Teen Vogue. It was honest, funny and inspiring.

6 p.m.: It was pretty much the end of the day, but I had one more appointment, a shoulder massage from Chillhouse. The last panel was probably the highlight of the day for me, but this was a very, very close second.

6:30 p.m.: I and the other attendees gathered our gift bags (backpacks with $ 1,000 worth of goodies for the $ 650-tier crowd, and Tumi suitcases for the $ 2,000 group) and rolled out of there. While I certainly won’t be doing vaginal steaming anytime soon, after a day in Goopland I have to admit, I am slightly drunk on the kool-aid (metaphorically, it is a workday after all).

Who Is Brad Falchuk? 5 Things to Know About Gwyneth Paltrow’s Fiancé

With Gwyneth Paltrow confirming that she’s engaged to Brad Falchuk after three years of dating, many are curious to know more about the 46-year-old writer-producer.

The couple went public with their romance in April 2015 at Robert Downey Jr.’s 50th birthday bash, after a year of flying under the radar with their relationship. And they’ve been equally shy about their engagement: ET reported that Falchuk popped the question a year ago.

A rep for Paltrow has not commented yet, but a source close to the actress previously told PEOPLE, “She’s crazy about Brad.” Though the source said that she’s “cautious about marriage” and “very happy with how things are,” it wasn’t “out of the question” for the couple to walk down the aisle in the future.

Here are 5 things to know about Falchuk.

1. He’s worked with Ryan Murphy for years

Falchuk began his television career as a writer, working on a few short-lived series before joining the season 1 writing staff of Murphy’s FX series Nip/Tuck in 2003. From there, the two formed a strong bond — teaming up to create Glee (2009), Scream Queens (2015) and the upcoming Connie Britton/Angela Bassett-led 9-1-1 for Fox, as well as the horror anthology series American Horror Story (2011) for FX. He and Murphy also serve as executive producers on the true crime anthology series FX’s American Crime Story, which premiered in 2016 with a season devoted to the O.J. Simpson trial and will open 2018 with a season devoted to the Gianni Versace murder.

All in all, she cover 10 tracks on the show — from Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)” and Prince’s “Kiss” to Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” and her most popular cover, Cee-Lo Green’s “Forget You,” which she later performed life with Green in the 2011 Grammy Awards.

3. He’s a father of two

Falchuk has two children, Brody and Isabella, from his 10-year marriage to Suzanne Bukinik, which ended in a divorce filing in March 2013. He often shares photos of the two on social media — and has taken Isabella with him as his date to the Emmys in the past.

So far there haven’t been any shots of Brody and Isabella with Paltrow’s two kids with the rocker — daughter Apple, 13, and son Moses, 11 — whom she shares with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

4. He gushes about Paltrow on Instagram

Speaking of sharing about loved ones on social media, Falchuk sure hasn’t shied away from expressing his love for Paltrow on Instagram.

“This is the most beautiful woman of all time and today is her birthday,” he wrote in September on Paltrow’s 44th birthday, captioning a photo of her eating pizza, drinking red wine and flashing what he described as “that f—— perfect smile.”  He continued: “We are all so lucky that she came into the world (but no one is luckier than me). Happy Birthday, Love.”

Other photos of Paltrow on his site come from his “getting ready” series, which often features Paltrow in various stages of preparation. “#LegsForDays” Falchuk hashtagged one shot of his fiancée.

5. He’s priming a groundbreaking new television project

Falchuk’s newest project, the pilot of which is currently filming in New York City, is the upcoming FX show Pose. Set in the Big Apple in the ’80s, the show focuses on a “the collusion of various worlds including the elite rich and the downtown ball culture,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

That’s not what makes it unique, of course. No, Pose will break through as the show with the most transgender series regulars of any show in American television history. A first look image of trans cast members Hailie Sahar, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Angelica Ross, and M.J. Rodriguez dropped earlier this month.

Pose also features Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, and Tatiana Maslany in major roles. Tony Award winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots) is also set to appear.

Gwyneth Paltrow Presents Newest Crop of ‘Trend-Proof’ Goop Label Pieces in NYC

While Gwyneth Paltrow is a year into designing clothes for her brand, Goop Label, she maintains that the mix of chunky cashmere sweaters, pique blouses and tweed shift dresses isn’t at all fashion.
“It’s really the opposite of fashion,” said Paltrow at her first preview of the line in New York on Thursday. “We’re not trying to move the needle.”
Wearing a navy velvet pantsuit of her own design and white sneakers, Paltrow walked WWD through the newest pieces, which start at $ 195 and go up to $ 1,395. New looks include dark-rinse wide-leg jeans, a cargo parka with a fake fur hood and a camel coat made from Loro Piana cashmere.
“Everything we make at Goop comes out of a white space; it’s like that with our skin care,” said Paltrow. “I love designer fashion, I’m a fan, but it’s so incredibly expensive. My point was, is there an under $ 600 version of that blazer that’s made in the same factory in Italy? It turns out, yeah. The idea of it is, how do you respect the modern woman and make beautiful designer clothing that’s trend-proof?”
From Paltrow’s “white space” came a black silk mock turtleneck jumpsuit that would be a no-brainer for an office holiday party,

NASA Refutes Claim that Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP ‘Healing’ Stickers Share Properties with Space Suits

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop has gotten a lot of criticism for its unconventional ideas – vagina steaming, over-the-top gift guides, and a $ 15,000 24-carat gold vibrator to name a few – and now the lifestyle brand is drawing fire from NASA for their claim that wearable “healing” stickers are made from the same material found in space suits.

The Goop website says the Body Vibes stickers “rebalance the energy frequency in our bodies” and “fill in the deficiencies in your reserves, creating a calming effect, smoothing out both physical tension and anxiety.” And claimed (in a statement that’s since been taken down) that the $ 160-per-10-pack stickers are “made with the same conductive carbon material NASA uses to line space suits so they can monitor an astronaut’s vitals during wear.”

But a spokesperson for NASA tells PEOPLE that they “do not line their spacesuits with conductive carbon material.”

Gizmodo also reported that Mark Shelhamer, former chief scientist at NASA’s human research division said, “What a load of BS,” when referring to the Body Vibes stickers.

“Not only is the whole premise like snake oil, the logic doesn’t even hold up,” he added. “If they promote healing, why do they leave marks on the skin when they are removed?” (Goop noted that if “you’ve got an event coming up,” to use caution since the stickers did leave marks on “a few Goop staffers” who wore them for the prescribed three-day period.)

In response, Goop issued the following statement to PEOPLE:

“As we have always explained, advice and recommendations included on goop are not formal endorsements and the opinions expressed by the experts and companies we profile do not necessarily represent the views of goop. Our content is meant to highlight unique products and offerings, find open-minded alternatives, and encourage conversation. We constantly strive to improve our site for our readers, and are continuing to improve our processes for evaluating the products and companies featured. Based on the statement from NASA, we’ve gone back to the company to inquire about the claim and removed the claim from our site until we get additional verification.”

But Paltrow has taken the criticism about the site’s wellness views in stride before – she even spoofed her recent Goop Wellness Summit.

Watch Out, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Is Becoming A Magazine

Oh Goop, where do we begin? The purveyor of vaginal eggs, leaf-scented perfume and $ 275 shower heads has left our brains spinning from fact-checking its dubious medical claims.

And now, all that Goopiness is spreading to a newsstand near you.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle site inked a deal with Conde Nast that includes quarterly print issues of Goop, Women’s Wear Daily reports.

The magazine, which reportedly grew out of a conversation between Paltrow and Anna Wintour, will feature typical Goop content on topics like health, cooking, style, design, wellness and travel. The first issue debuts in September.

This is great news for those of us who like to ogle extravagant gift guides on paper, but as always, be prepared to take Goop’s health suggestions with a grain of salt (and NOT an iodine supplement).

Gwyneth Paltrow on Working Out Almost Every Day: ‘I Definitely Don’t Always Feel Like Doing It!’

Gwyneth Paltrow has credited her near-daily workouts for looking young and feeling strong, but admits she’s not always in the mood to hit the gym.

“I’ve been a Tracy Anderson fanatic for over a decade, I’m an investor in her company, so yeah, I go every morning,” she says. “I drop the kids at school, work out, go to work.”

In addition to a disciplined workout regiment, Paltrow sticks to a pretty clean diet to stay feeling her best. However, she lets herself indulge when she wants to.

“I have a pretty healthy diet, so when I’m eating processed foods and not watching my alcohol intake, I feel it. But at the same time, you want deliciousness, you want a fun — pleasure!” she says. “You’re going to have a baguette-and-cheese-and-red-wine frenzy sometimes, but you want it to be a choice you’re awake to: ‘I know this might not make me feel great, but today I’m choosing it anyway.’ ”

Paltrow also spoke to the magazine about how she deals with being judged.

“When someone doesn’t like something you do, or doesn’t share your interest in something, that doesn’t have anything to do with you,” she says. “One of the best things someone ever said to me was that the only time criticism hurts is if you have a judgment about yourself about that very thing.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Consciously Couples With ‘Glee’ Boyfriend On Instagram

Out of all the things to come out of “Glee” (a Lea Michele-Naya Rivera feud, Jane Lynch’s overdue recognition as a comedic genius, rampant slushie abuse, etc.) we never expected that Gwyneth Paltrow would be the one carrying the torch all these years later.

Well, the Oscar-winning actress and her television executive boyfriend Brad Falchuk, who met while working together on the hit TV musical series, have been dating for nearly two years now. They’ve somehow managed to keep things on the down low apart from a group photo collage here and a paparazzi-heavy party there.

That is, until Wednesday, when Paltrow consciously made the coupling Instagram official by sharing a sweet message to Falchuk on his 46th birthday. Break out your $ 200 pelvic floor exercise tracker, because these two aren’t’ fooling around!

“Happy birthday handsome,” she captioned a photo of the two of them cozying up together.

Happy birthday, handsome

A post shared by Gwyneth Paltrow (@gwynethpaltrow) on

Apart from the selfie, we don’t exactly know how Falchuk decided to spend the big day, but we can only hope that it included Paltrow reprising her “Glee” character Holly Holiday for a a birthday rendition of “Forget You.”

Coincidentally, Paltrow’s ex-husband Coldplay’s Chris Martin celebrated his 40th birthday the day before Falchuk’s. Despite the developments in her love life, the actress and Martin still remain close, as the two co-parent their children Apple, 12, and Moses, 10.

Speaking with InStyle in December, Paltrow revealed that Martin would still “take a bullet” for her even though they are no longer together.

“He’s at my house every single day,” she said. “We have our own lives but we still have our family life.”

Falchuk is also dad to two kids with his with his ex-wife, Suzanne Falchuk, so when it comes to this pairing, it’s one big happy family.

Gwyneth Paltrow Miraculously Makes A Ruffled Blue Suit Look Good

You know what they say, Gwyneth Paltrow: If you can’t prove your site’s widely refuted health claims, just throw on a power suit and keep moving.

Paltrow looked undeniably adorable out in Los Angeles Tuesday. Wearing a baby blue ruffled, short-skirted suit with large metal buttons, fishnet stockings and heeled booties, the almighty queen of Goopland made it work despite the fact that her look is a bit mismatched from top to bottom.

We’re not sure if it’s the fit, the color, the style or the fact that she might be carrying a jade egg in her vagina that especially attracts us to this look, but something is working.

Gwyneth Paltrow Wonders Why Women Are So ‘Vitriolic’ To Each Other

Gwyneth Paltrow thinks women need to stop being so mean to each other.

Paltrow appears on the February 2015 cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK. Inside the issue, she discusses her relationship with Chris Martin and paving her own way beyond her famous parents. While she says she has developed a sisterhood with her colleagues at Goop, she also acknowledges how badly women can treat each other.

“Women really need to examine why they’re so vitriolic to other women; why they want to twist words, why they want to read about someone else in a negative light and why that feels good to them … But I also know a huge tribe of women who are loving and supportive of other women, in ways that are completely transformative,” Paltrow says.

In October, Paltrow’s feud with Martha Stewart made headlines and ended with the actress publishing a recipe for “Jailbird Cake” on her website. Many took this as a jab at Stewart, who went to jail in 2004 for insider trading.

The 42-year-old star tells Bazaar she has learned “the power of kindness and the importance of nonjudgemental ways of looking at others.” She also defends a woman’s right to be whoever she wants.

“I think we are a generation of women who are different in a lot of respects, and some of us want to be ambitious, and for it not to be a dirty word,” she adds. “We want to be feminine and soft, we want to be maternal, we want to be sexual, we want to be explorers — and we can be a combination of all of these archetypes. You can be powerful, but you can also be vulnerable.”
