Fallout 76: Our Biggest Hopes and Fears

With the recent reveal of Fallout 76, a lot of us were surprised at the game’s online, multiplayer focus. And while the idea of venturing into a vast post-apocalyptic wastelands with friends sounds enjoyable to some of us, others were left questioning if this is something fans of the core Fallout franchise should be excited about. Here are some of our biggest hopes and fears for Fallout 76.

The building mechanics in Fallout 4 were….fine. But 76 is daring to up the ante with an all new C.A.M.P. or the “Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform” which allows you to build settlements anywhere you please. And with an improved Sims-like building interface, 76 is promising a much more robust approach to settlement building that seems very promising.

Common Trde Hopes to Invigorate the Showroom Experience

Laura Baker and James Waller are introducing a new showroom concept.
Baker, who co-owns the Pblc Trde showroom, and Waller, who cofounded the British streetwear brand Blood Brother, have partnered up to launch Common Trde, a showroom space that will be open during men’s market in Paris from June 22 to June 29 at 18 Rue Commines.
During previous seasons, Baker previewed her brands in either trade shows or rented out space in other showrooms, but with help from Waller, who has used his European network to bring in new brands, they are presenting more of a lifestyle space where brands of various sizes are able to maintain their own identity — each client had a hand in putting the space together — and use shared resources.
“In the past, we did not feel the brand’s individual identity was upheld,” Baker said. “It always seemed only to be about the trade show or that showroom. There didn’t seem to be any shared communication or practices.”
Baker and Waller are hoping to make the process more seamless for buyers and brands. They’ve created a show guide so buyers can preview the brands and speak to their sales managers before coming to the showroom. And instead

Russell Elliot Hopes His Sexy New Video Inspires ‘Queer Joy And Pleasure’

Russell Elliot is back with a sexy new song and video.

HuffPost Queer Voices first introduced you to the queer R&B artist’s music in 2014, and since then he has released a number of queer-themed tracks and clips. This latest video, for the song “On You,” is described by Elliot as a “sex jam” and he emphasized that songs like this one can be just as important as blatantly political work during tumultuous times of social unrest.

“I want queer joy and pleasure to stay visible in these tough times,” Elliot told The Huffington Post. “So many people said, ‘You can’t put out a sex jam. People want to feel angry, not sexy.’ I say we’re allowed to hold both. I’m writing my senators. I’m at JFK and Stonewall and on the National Mall chanting with my sisters. I’m also grinding one out on the dance floor. Because they can’t take that from us. I think we’re allowed to hold the resistance and our hard-earned joy in equal measure. I’ll go a step further and say I think we need to draw on both to fortify us if we’re to get through this.”

Check out the clip above and head here to see more from Elliot.

Bill Maher Hopes The Patriots Lose The Super Bowl, Because Of Donald Trump

Bill Maher is rooting for the Atlanta Falcons at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Not because he’s from Atlanta or is a longtime fan of the team, but because they’re up against the New England Patriots.

The Falcons are playing a team where the owner, the coach and the star quarterback all love and support Donald Trump,” Maher said on Friday’s broadcast of “Real Time.” “So I’d really like for [The Patriots] to lose by a score of a million fucking thousand to none.”

Maher, a fierce critic of Trump, later lamented how the new POTUS has politicized things that just shouldn’t even be political ― including football.

Hope’s Daughter

Hope’s Daughter

Life should be simple for Cassie. For the small population of Earth survivors who live on the Space Station Hope everything they do is planned and scheduled, down to the cyclical food menus, their roles in the station, even how many children they have. Despite rigid controls directing her life, Cassie feels more out of synch than ever and worries she won’t find a place for herself within the station community. Perhaps that’s because she’s hearing things inside her head that can’t possibly be real. Or maybe it’s the regular elopements of her peers, heading off to a romantic future in the Married Quarter of the space station, whilst she’s never even been attracted to a boy – no matter how hard her best friend Ami pushes them at her. Then there are the odd questions her work placement partner Balik keeps raising. His questions are just as troubling for her as his distracting smiles and eyes that seem to see inside her. As Cassie draws closer to Balik she finds that everything else in her life begins to shift. He tells her things that call into question the system they live within. She can’t believe he is right, but at the same time she finds it hard to deny the sincerity of his ideas. Could there be a connection between Cassie’s problems and Balik’s questions? The truth will drag them both to a terrifying and deadly conclusion beyond anything they could have imagined.

Why Trump’s election hasn’t crushed the hopes of environmentalists

Why Trump’s election hasn’t crushed the hopes of environmentalistsThe mood was a little grim at a gathering in New York two weeks ago for corporate and nonprofit types looking to advance social change—especially when the discussions turned to the environment, an issue that doesn’t seem to be a priority for President-elect Donald Trump. “It would be better, for sure, if the Trump administration weren’t obstructionist,” said Nature Conservancy CEO Mark Tercek at the NationSwell Summit. Walmart (WMT) pleasantly surprised many activists during the George W. Bush administration.

Beyonce Launches Vegan Home Delivery Meal Service In Hopes You’ll Feel #Flawless

If a diva is a female version of a hustler, then, logically speaking, a vegan diva is the female version of a vegan hustler.

The clean-eating Beyonce herself recently partnered with her personal trainer, exercise physiologist Marco Borges, to launch the 22 Days Nutrition plant-based home delivery meal service. The service offers three meal plans, where you can sign up to receive anywhere from one to three meals a day for 22 days delivered to your door each week. A full three-meals-a-day package will cost you a total of $ 629.79, including shipping of $ 19.95. According to the website, all of the meals are gluten-free, soy-free and organic. Each meal is “a perfect balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat with limited salt and sugar.”

The meal plan busts the myth that vegans struggle to get enough protein in their diets. “In reality, eating a variety of beans, nuts, seeds and grains will give your body the protein it needs to keep energy levels up and build and keep muscle tone,” the website says.

Twenty-two days of veganism may seem random, but the time span is a conscious choice of Borges and Beyonce. “The program’s philosophy is based on the concept that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit and on the 22nd day you are well on your way to forming new habits,” says a statement. The meal plan is targeted to those who want to lose weight, cook less or simply “experience a whole new way of eating.”

“I am so grateful that I took the challenge and credit Marco with leading by example,” Beyonce says in the statement. “He is the most energetic person I know and it’s all because of his decision to live a healthy lifestyle. He came up with a great program to get people motivated to make better nutritional choices. All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can.”

Beyonce’s first public stint with veganism was in December 2013, when she and her husband Jay Z adopted the plant-based diet for 22 days. Jay Z referred to the challenge as “a spiritual and physical cleanse.”

This 6-Year-Old Donated Her Hair In Hopes Of Helping Young Cancer Patients Feel Like Royalty

While some girls dream of looking like a princess, this girl dreamed of making that wish come true for young cancer patients.

Charlie Tillotson, 6, of Sidmouth, England, had never gotten a haircut, and was passionate about protecting her long, golden locks, according to the Daily Star.

She has always wanted to grow it as long as Rapunzel,” her father said.

However, after watching a T.V. show about kids battling cancer, Charlie was inspired to chop off her locks for Little Princess Trust, an organization that donates wigs to young cancer patients. She also decided to raise money for Children With Cancer U.K. — a charity that aims to help children and teenagers fight cancer — through a fundraising page that her father helped her set up.

Charlie’s father, Steve Tillotson, said he was moved by his daughter’s request.

“She came up to me … and said, ‘Daddy, would you mind if I had all my hair cut off for children with cancer?'” Tillotson told the Sidmouth Herald. “I welled up.

Her haircut took 2 feet off her total length of hair, and will be made into a wig for a child with cancer, according to Metro. While the cut took place two weeks ago, Charlie has already said she wants to do it all over again once her hair has grown back, and bring a smile to another child’s face, the Daily Star reported.

Her fundraiser was also successful. Tillotson said he and his daughter originally set a goal of raising 600 British pounds (about $ 1,010) through their Just Giving page. The fundraiser more than doubled their goal, bringing in more than 1300 pounds (about $ 2,200).

Charlie’s good deeds did not go unnoticed. The town of Sidmouth is rewarding her by giving her a true princess treatment. Charlie will get her own float at the Sidmouth carnival, as well as a ball gown and tiara, according to the Sidmouth Herald.

‘Awkward’: Jenna Hopes For Good Karma, But Is Sadly Too Optimistic (VIDEO)

This week, Jenna continued her campaign to improve her relationships on “Awkward.” Hoping to return good karma her way, she focused her attention on the adult women in her life. Her mother was depressed after losing her job as the school nurse while Val was still angry — and working at a convenience store — after Jenna’s essay got her fired.

But Val got a second chance in a school hearing, so Lacey used all the skills she gained watching “Law & Order” to act as her lawyer. Ultimately, though, it was Sadie who came in with a true testimonial that convinced the board to give Val her job back. So would things start going Jenna’s way?

Sure it was painfully obvious where things were going when those prom tickets fell out of Mattie’s pockets, but that only meant that we were shouting warnings at Jenna throughout the closing moments of the show. We hated the idea of Jenna setting herself so high for the inevitable fall. Mattie only wanted to ask her about taking another girl to the dance.

The AV Club’s Myles McNutt thought it was one of the series’ best episodes yet. “With Jenna’s life on the upswing, she begins to imagine a perfect narrative arc in which she gets the guy, loses him as she struggles to find her true self, and then returns to win him back and have the Prom date she could have had in the first season if only they had each better understood both themselves and each other. That this isn’t to be dislocates Jenna’s point of view … and sets the stage for a finale that has become much more unstable—in the best possible way—than it was set to be when the episode began.”

Tune in to the “Awkward” season finale, Tuesday night at 10 p.m. EST on MTV.
