Mark Zunino Teams up with Bridal Reflections, Dresses ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Hosts for Red Carpet

Living and designing in Beverly Hills, Mark Zunino has seen the extremes celebrities rely on for red-carpet dressing and he wants consumers to avoid them.
With Mark Zunino Atelier, a new red-carpet inspired bridal and eveningwear collection, the designer wants women to have figure-flattering looks by choosing a well-constructed gown. Architecture was his course of study at Pepperdine, but accepting an undergrad job at Nolan Miller’s assistant altered his career plans. At that time in the Eighties, Miller designed costumes for the glitzy hit show “Dynasty.” Catering to clients like Sophia Loren, Bette Davis, Ann-Margret and Lana Turner (whom Miller was engaged to at one point), “we were so Hollywood engulfed. We were flying around globally,” Zunino said, during a preview of his wedding gowns at Bridal Reflections’ Fifth Avenue flagship. A one-year commitment led to a decades-long one, with Zunino eventually buying the rights to Emmy-winning Miller’s company. Miller died in 2012.
Traces of his designs for such celebrity clients as Jennifer Lopez can be seen in such unexpected bridal styles as a beaded open-back jumpsuit. With eveningwear retailing for upwards of $ 6,000 and wedding dresses starting at $ 8,000, the collection is being sold exclusively through Bridal Reflections, a three-store operation

Browns Hosts Dinner to Mark Fantastic Man’s Book About Men’s Dressing

LIGHT FANTASTIC: What’s the opposite of hi-tech? The new book by Fantastic Man magazine, “What Men Wear and Why.” A soft cover printed on recycled paper, it includes lots of charming interviews with men about how they dress themselves every day. The interviews are long — no social media-sized commentary here — and, crucially, there are no illustrations or images. Readers — refreshingly — are forced to use their mind’s eye.
Browns hosted a cocktail and dinner on Saturday night during Paris Men’s Fashion Week to mark the book’s publication, and its collaboration with Fantastic Man. The retailer has given over the windows of its store on South Molton Street to different quotes and themes from the book. The event took place at Brasserie Vaudeville, across from the Bourse, with guests including Stefano Pilati, Martine Rose, Liam Hodges, Raf Simons, Benjamin Alexander Huseby, Serhat Isik, Lucie and Luke Meier, Charles Jeffrey and Lou Dalton.

DVF Hosts a Night Under the Stars — Selfie Edition

STAR SEARCH: Diane von Furstenberg arrived at her holiday party in New York on Tuesday night hoisting a burning object — apropos given her fund-raising role for the new Statue of Liberty Museum, and the liberty theme of her summer collection.
The object was, in fact, a roll of smudging sage that she used to perfume her flagship Meatpacking boutique, and a new, adjacent 600-square-foot room she christened as an “interactive, experiential” gallery celebrating zodiac signs. Visitors can take in — i.e.  take selfies for Instagram — Konstantin Kakanias artworks on the walls and thousands of Swarovski crystals dangling from the ceiling. They can also park themselves on a sparkling crescent moon propped in one corner, as Glamour’s Samantha Barry did upon arrival. The “celestial” experience is to run through Feb. 2, with a new decor and activations unveiled every two months.
There’s an exit into the retail store, which stocks zodiac gifts, stickers and postcards as mementos. Setting the sage aside, von Furstenberg toted a camera through the crowd and snapped photos of guests next to their birth signs. Revelers include Fran Lebowitz, Andy Cohen, Sofia Sanchez de Betak and magician David Blaine.

Milan Hosts First Alaïa Exhibition

AL FRESCO: After Paris and London, Milan is hosting an exhibition of designs by Azzedine Alaïa that in terms of setting is among the most spectacular yet.
At the opening night on Thursday, 21 looks were unveiled in the Galleria degli Arazzi of the storied Palazzo Clerici, under spectacular frescoes by 18th-century artist Giambattista Tiepolo.
Guests including Silvia Venturini Fendi, Delfina Delettrez, Fausto Puglisi, Alberta Ferretti, Anna Molinari, Caroline Vreeland, Giuseppe Zanotti and Carlo Capasa joined Alaïa’s partner Christoph von Weyhe and close friend Carla Sozzani at the event.
Olivier Saillard, the fashion historian who curated the show, said seeing the outfits in the gilded reception room, which also features tapestries and a wood marquetry floor, cast them in a fresh light.
“There are clothes I have handled dozens of times, and for example this little white dress, I think, looks a lot more alive here,” he said, pointing to a short Grecian-style draped jersey dress.
“It’s the first time that Azzedine Alaïa is the subject of an exhibition in Milan. It’s like a little appetizer in the hope of perhaps doing something bigger one day,” he added.
Supported by the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation and Vogue Italia, in partnership with Place Vendôme Qatar, “Azzedine Alaïa Couture

Jonathan Anderson Hosts New Talent Photography Exhibition

FRESH FACES: “It is scary to do this because it is sort of like a massive administration nightmare,” said Jonathan Anderson at the launch of his photography exhibition in London on Thursday. “But I’m really proud of it.”
Anderson was referring to the myriad photos that flooded into his studio after he made an open call for young photographers to submit work as part of his spring-summer 2018 campaign.
As reported, he wanted members of the public to submit pictures in his bid to promote future image-makers, with the slogan Your picture/Our future. He received about 1,000 submissions, ranging from portraiture to landscapes to abstract images.
The end result is a show that Anderson curated at 13 Floral Street, a gallery in Covent Garden. Titled “Your picture/Our future,” it includes 200 images from 50 contributors. A winner will be named on Friday and that person will be the one to shoot Anderson’s next campaign.
During the exhibition Anderson said it was great meeting different people and listening to their stories about why they wanted to become photographers. “I always see J.W. as some sort of cultural agitator,” said Anderson. “So it fits in. I think everyone here is fantastic.”
He said the highlight “is actually

2018 Cannes Film Festival: Vanessa Redgrave and Sienna Miller Among Hosts at AmfAR Gala

WOMAN’S HOUR: Female directors may have gotten short shrift in the official lineup of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, with only three women-helmed films in competition, but amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS gala should help make up for it.
The non-profit organization said on Tuesday it has selected 25 women from the worlds of fashion and film to be the honorary chairs of the event’s 25th edition, to be held at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes on May 17.
They include Sienna Miller and Vanessa Redgrave — both vocal supporters of the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements — Katy Perry, Aishwarya Rai, Heidi Klum, Linda Evangelista, Angela Missoni and Donatella Versace.
The theme of this year’s Carine Roitfeld-curated benefit fashion show, starring 40 top models in one-of-a-kind looks from a range of brands, will be “And Woman Created All.”
‪Grammy Award-winning artist Pharrell Williams‪ will be the night’s headlining act.
The late Dame Elizabeth Taylor — amfAR’s founding international chairman — hosted the foundation’s first ever Cannes gala in 1993, with personalities including President Bill Clinton, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Robert De Niro, Sir ‪Elton John and Madonna carrying the torch in subsequent years.

CHECKING OUT: Saturday night’s Burberry show was nothing short of a Christopher Bailey love-in, with staffers getting teary eyed and celebrity guests gushing about the designer who’s leaving after nearly two decades at the brand.
“Of course I’m here to support him — he’s been so generous to me, dressing me for years for different events,” said the actor Idris Elba. Naomi Watts said she wanted to be there because “I like Christopher – he’s a really lovely person to spend time with.”
More than 1,300 guests attended the show including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Keira Knightley, Michelle Dockery, Naomie Harris, Iris Law, Lily James, Jourdan Dunn, Kate Mara, Chelsea Clinton, Paloma Faith, Liam Gallagher, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Daphne Guinness and Stephen Jones.
When they weren’t gushing about Bailey, they were talking about their projects for the stage and screen.
Miller said she’s still recovering from the West End run of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” and is about to promote “The Burning Woman,” an American drama in which she plays a woman named Deb. “But I don’t set myself on fire and the film is not related in any way to Burning Man (festival),” she said.

Kering Hosts Party to Celebrate Agnès Varda’s Honorary Oscar

GOING FOR GOLD: Kering threw open the doors of its Paris headquarters on Monday for a party celebrating filmmaker Agnès Varda’s honorary Oscar.
Well-wishers including Isabelle Huppert, Jane Birkin, Louis Garrel, Jacques Audiard and fellow Oscar-winning director Michel Hazanavicius thronged around the diminutive director in the chapel of the historic building, built during the reign of Louis XIII.
Many of them wore badges proclaiming “I ❤️ Agnès” handed out by UniFrance, the agency dedicated to promoting French films around the world, which co-hosted the event. JR, the French photographer and artist who stars with Varda in their recent documentary “Faces Places,” sidled up proffering roasted chestnuts.
The Belgian-born director, 89, lapped up the attention, though she played down the fact that she was the first female director to be awarded an honorary Oscar.
“You shouldn’t be making a big deal of the fact that I am a woman, but you should be making a big deal of the fact that they chose someone who does not represent Hollywood values, because as I said in my speech, I am not bankable,” Varda told WWD between spoonfuls of pumpkin soup.

Dover Street Market Hosts Festive Open House

HOLIDAY INSTALLATIONS: With Christmas approaching, Dover Street Market hosted an event to celebrate with a series of signature installations from various brands and designers, and marked Comme des Garçons’ Re/tartan Re/energy Holiday campaign launch.
London-based stylists Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall, co-editors in chief of brand new magazine-cum-posterbook Chaos SixtyNine, held a “teenage bachelor bedroom” themed installation in the basement. “We wanted it to be a space where you could put up all the posters from the magazine freely. That seemed naturally to be a teenage bedroom,” said Lyall.
The space was also used to launch the Chaos Bruv Club Collection, as well as special merchandise. “The Bruv Club is like men’s suiting, racer graphics, a bit skate and a bit gentleman,” said Stockdale. “It’s a nice mix of the two. Bruv Club to us is all-inclusive: boys, girls, anyone up for a bit of fun.”
While the second issue of the biannual title won’t be out until at least May of next year, Charlotte and Katie have collaborations up their sleeves — the first of which will be with Hayden Kays, a British artist influenced by Fifties pop art. It will include custom graphics printed onto Chaos phone cases. They will be available

WWE Cancelled Talking Smack and Forget To Tell Its Hosts – and They Weren’t Happy!

It’s one thing to find out your show is cancelled. It’s another to find it out from a tweet.

But that’s what happened to WWE Talking Smack hosts Renee Young and Daniel Bryan, who learned Friday on social media that their 20-minute studio talk show that aired Tuesday nights following SmackDown Live would be no more.

On Friday, the WWE confirmed the news first reported by PWInsider that the weekly series was canned, explaining that the previous Tuesday’s episode was the last. Instead, the network plans to air the program following special pay-per-view events. “We continuously review WWE Network’s programming line-up based on a variety of factors, including viewership and subscriber research,” they said in a statement, PWInsider reported.

Debuting in August 2016 on the WWE Network, Talking Smack gave WWE superstars a forum to expand their characters beyond the ring. The unscripted panel program became acclaimed by fans for its unique format, many reacting to the chemistry between Young and SmackDown GM Bryan.

Fans were outraged on Twitter Friday — though their reactions were not nearly as surprising as Young and Bryan’s.

“Hmmm that’s one way to get the news,” Young wrote, responding to a fan who tweeted his disappointment.

She then retweeted a GIF of herself from the show, throwing a box of cookies behind her back.

Bryan appeared to be a little more angry.

“I come online to support #SamiForSyria and find this out,” he wrote, again responding to a fan who tweeted him the news. “I’m the GM!!! Nobody tells me anything!!!”

Their frustration was met with support from WWE personalities too — including Real World: Back to New York alum Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, who tweeted “RIP #TalkingSmack I enjoyed the freedom this show gave @wwe talent to showcase what they could do. @ReneeYoungWWE brought the best out of all.”

Young thanked Mizanin on Twitter — later telling fans, “Really disappointed about #TalkingSmack. We tried to make that show great. Guess I’ll go back to welcoming my guest at this time..”

RELATED VIDEO: Scott Hamilton on His ‘Humbling’ Brain Tumor Miracle

Talking Smack‘s cancellation comes amid changes for the network, which recently removed pyrotechnics from its shows. It also comes months after the WWE canned a similar program called Raw Talk, which aired Monday nights on the network after the three-hour live WWE Raw show.

Once Bryan’s appearances became less frequent, the show began to suffer. Add in the fact that the show was bumped until 11 PM to make way for 205 Live and Talking Smack was always swimming upstream in the battle for viewership.

The WWE told PWInsider that like Talking Smack, Raw Talk will also be back as a recap show following the brand’s respective pay-per-view shows.

Only on live weekly show remains on the WWE Network — 205 Live, which airs immediately after SmackDown. Unlike the other shows, it features WWE’s cruiserweight competitors.

The latter cohosted a lunch at Verlaine in West Hollywood with Jacqui Getty and Rochelle Gores Fredston to celebrate the new “Poptastic” fragrance. The outdoor restaurant featured a confetti-strewn photo booth and plenty of colorful summer cocktails. Among those enjoying the sips were Rachel Zoe, Sally Perrin, Shea Marie and Julia Sorkin.
“I’m going to send this dress to your house today,” Zoe told Delevingne of the Rachel Zoe frock that she wearing. Most guests stuck to the summer dress code of white and blue, giving the party at very Montauk-meets-Malibu vibe.

Late Night Hosts Gave Donald Trump The Best Gags For His 71st Birthday

Late night TV hosts wished President Donald Trump a happy 71st birthday in their own amusing way.

Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, James Corden and Seth Meyers each used their Wednesday night broadcasts to give the president a “gift” in the form of a gag.

Kimmel imagined Trump giving himself a birthday message ― from himself:

“Late Late Show” host Corden said he was just glad that Trump could finally have a day “where he’s the center of attention.”

Corden also suggested the perfect gift for the president, before suggesting he take the day (and the week, and the month and the next four years) off:

On “Late Night,” meanwhile, Meyers joked about how Trump was now “a man in his 70s, who wants a golf score in the 60s, his country in the ’50s and his wife in her 20s.”

And “Tonight Show” host Fallon imagined just some of the birthday cards that Trump could have received ― including ones from Russian President Vladimir Putin and White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer:

Stephen Webster Hosts Menswear Presentation

HOMEWARE AT HARRODS: Stephen Webster hosted a menswear presentation at his studio in London on Saturday. Held at the second floor of his Mayfair office on Mount Street, the designer showcased a small range of homeware which will be available for purchase at a pop-up titled “Exclusively Men” hosted by Harrods on June 22.

Central Saint Martins Hosts Annual BA Fashion Show

LONDON — The Central Saint Martins annual BA fashion show highlighted works from 41 students studying fashion design with marketing, knitwear, men’s wear, fashion print and women’s wear as their specializations. Designs ranged from the conceptual and expressive to the eccentric.
Goom Heo won the L’Oréal Professionnel Young Talent Award, which comes with an undisclosed cash prize. The fashion print student, who has already done internships at Molly Goddard and Kenzo, was inspired by the men she discovered during her travels across Asia. This was Heo’s first foray into men’s wear with ensembles including a layered look featuring a top made from a stack of vintage T-shirts. She paired the top with shiny black trousers.
Second place went to LVMH Grand Prix scholar and knitwear student Sarah Ansah, who created a red-and-white striped knit crop top and matching miniskirt.
Fashion design and marketing student Sheryn Akiki came in third. Her final look was based on a military flight suit done in soft linen. She meticulously twisted elastic into the oversize trousers giving them a distressed effect. Her dresses were handwoven and screen printed with enlarged graphic patterns.

More than 400 people turned up for the event, the finale to D.C.’s first “Haiti Week,” hosted by Ambassador Paul Altidor, and it featured an assortment of products from Haitian-American entrepreneurs. Hugo Matha Hosts Cocktail for Latest Bags

Hugo Matha opted for embroidered phoenix motifs, red and black snakeskin, and painted alligator in electric blue for his latest lineup of handbags mixing vintage and architectural inspirations.
Matha presented the collection at a party in the Paris apartment and studio he shares with the calligrapher and illustrator Nicolas Ouchenir.
Now in his third year designing the namesake accessories line, Matha was joined at the presentation by a handful of fellow fashion start-uppers including Alexandra Van Houtte of Tag-walk.com and Elizabeth Hilfiger.
Hilfigerb — daughter of designer Tommy — sells hoodies and T-shirts decorated by body piercings on her e-store Fooandfoo.com, which went live only two weeks ago.
Van Houtte’s Tag-walk.com is a search engine that labels images from the fashion shows with an array of detailed keywords — an aspiring “Google” for the runway.
Seeing which tags occur most often during the fashion weeks can provide empirical insight on emerging trends, Van Houtte said. “The biggest runway trend so far is transparent,” she said, “In street style we’re still seeing a lot of silver.”

David Yurman Hosts First Men’s Collection Exhibition in Milan

One could hardly miss David Yurman’s first men’s presentation in Milan — a stunning crystal structure placed in front of the Baroque San Paolo Converso deconsecrated church promised more to come inside the location.

Fourteen crystal cases in different shapes formed a circle inside the frescoed building and displayed chief design director Evan Yurman’s gold skull rings, amulet necklaces and cuffs.
Yurman tapped British artist Anthony James, known for his works called “kalos thanotos,” which in Greek means “beautiful death,” to create the unique installation, held during Men’s Fashion Week. “The structures are reminiscent of a diamond,” said James, who developed them over six months. “When you look into them, there’s a sense of infinity.” Two-way mirrors contributed to the effect. In steel and titanium, the cases were lit up from within.

James said he and Yurman had been talking about working together for the last two years, but that it took them that long to devise an idea — and for James to perfect the techniques used in the installation. The structures played off the octahedral shapes of raw diamonds, he explained,

Interestingly, Lagerfeld presented his line wearing a jacket designed by Hedi Slimane, who it’s rumored is being groomed as his heir, from Saint Laurent’s Spring 2016 Men’s collection.

For the show’s grand finale a troop of drummers moved through the streets, turning the catwalk into a giant dance party. Models invited fashion show attendees to join them in the festivities as the locals watched on from the balconies of their houses lining the street. Chanel’s guests were then invited to party late into the night and join Karl himself for a tango or two.

Document Magazine Hosts Paris Dinner

FANTASY DINNER: Document magazine and stylist Olivier Rizzo hosted a dinner in Paris on Saturday night to celebrate the New York-based title’s fall issue.
There was an intimate vibe in the salon of Lapérouse, the art-stuffed, 18th-century restaurant on the Left Bank where the event took place.
Miuccia Prada, Raf Simons, Kris Van Assche and Simon Porte Jacquemus were among the attendees.
“It’s like a dream. It’s so perfect,” said Nick Vogelson, who cofounded Document with James Valeri, speaking of the guest list. “We chose this venue because Miuccia presented her first Miu Miu collection here.”
Jacquemus had an addition to his own fantasy dinner invitee lineup.
“I would add my cousin. It would be fun to have a child joining the table,” the designer said, referring to seven-year-old Jean, who made a sensation opening Jacquemus’ spring show. “Everything is seen differently through the eyes of a child.”
Has the experience been life-changing for Jean?
“He’s just happy he’s skipping school,” Jacquemus said with a laugh, agreeing people will keep an eye out for what’s up next for Jean and Hudson Kroenig, Karl Lagerfeld’s godson, today’s It kids of the fashion world.
Meanwhile, guests indulged on foie gras, beef and caramel soufflé – the restaurant’s signature dessert. And after

Charlotte Dellal Hosts ‘Wild’ Dinner in London

LONDON – “I wanted everything to be leopard, even the guests, which is why we had a strict ‘leopard’ dress code,” said Charlotte Olympia designer Charlotte Dellal at the dinner she hosted to preview her spring-summer 2016 collection. However, not everyone observed the mandate: Dellal’s brother, Alexander, was shamefully leopard-free. But the shoe designer soon solved that: “I cut a corner from a table cloth to make him a pocket square.”
“It’s like being in the most glamorous safari tent in the world,” summed up furniture and interior designer Francis Sultana. The walls and ceiling of the private room at Daphne’s restaurant in South Kensington had been festooned with custom-printed fabric in the Charlotte Olympia signature leopard spots, which matched the tablecloths and seat cushions.
After dinner, bingo cards printed with shoes and bags from the new collection were handed out with gold bingo markers, and presenter George Lamb ran a semi-legit bingo game, with three big toy leopards as the prizes. Derek Blasberg won the first round of the game but donated his trophy to Arizona Muse.
“That’s probably the nicest thing Derek’s ever done,” said the London-based model. “I’m going to pop it in my son’s bedroom tonight so he wakes

Moncler Hosts Photographer-Laden Party at New York Public Library

MONCLER’S SNAPSHOT: Sure, sure everybody’s a photographer in these iPhone-wielding days, but at Moncler’s party Thursday night that really seemed to be the case.
Fabien Baron, Hans Feurer, Lachlan Bailey, Craig McDean, Brigitte Lacombe, Mario Sorrenti, Charlotte Kidd, Terry Richardson, Olivier Zahm, Pamela Hanson, Roxanne Lowit (…you get the picture) weathered the rain to get to the New York Public Library. Some like Calvin Klein skipped the seated dinner for 200, stopping by just to check out the “Art for Love” exhibit. The Baron-curated images are also in a new book and an online auction — no small task.
Moncler chairman and chief executive officer Remo Ruffini explained, “For me, these are the 32 best photographers. I made my own list. It was easy to make the list, but very difficult to convince them.”
Guests eyeing the “Art for Love” images included Lily Kwong, Liya Kebede, Toni Garrn, Nan Bush, and Pyper and Lucky Smith.

British Designer Claire Barrows Hosts Pop-up, Revamps Website

SECRET STORE: To coincide with the launch of her revamped Web site, Claire Barrow will host a “secret” pop-up store, offering limited-edition designs beginning Aug. 7. Shoppers can sign up on clairebarrow.com to receive a code to gain access to shop at the pop-up.
The online shopping area will offer 24 pieces including silk scarves, ruffle tops, tote bags, shirts, sew-on patches and leather coats and jackets. Designed exclusively for the store, the pieces have been hand-painted by Barrow. In addition, she’s selling a series of leather iPhone cases designed together with The Case Factory. The price range is 20 pounds, or $ 31, for a painted patch to 1,500 pounds, or $ 2,340, for a lambskin leather swing coat.
“It’s a pre-collection, but very limited edition, each thing having been hand-painted, dyed, etc. by myself,” Barrow told WWD. “Like all my collections, it has a story behind it. The idea of hand-painting things to sell online inspired the collection because it got me thinking about art you can wear and e-commerce; it’s a bit like being in the [museum] gift shop rather than the gallery. From this idea I constructed a curated ‘gift shop’ range of products for a make-believe museum of ancient erotic

The Paris Review Hosts Spring Revel

MAKE MINE EXTRA DRY, PLEASE: Blame on the pre-and-post dinner open bars, or the crowd’s thirst for a George Plimpton-worthy good time, but The Paris Review’s Spring Revel lived up to its billing once again Tuesday night.
As the literary pub’s editors Lorin Stein, Louis Begley, Mona Simpson, Richard Ford, Katie Roiphe, Gary Shteyngart, Kurt Anderson, Tao Lin, Emma Cline and other scribes worked the room, former Massachusetts Governor William Weld recalled shooting the breeze decades ago with Plimpton and Hunter S. Thompson during the magazine’s 62 White Street days. “George and I shared an affinity for three-cushion billiards,” he said with a laugh. “Hunter admired my style because he thought I was more of a dissolute than I really was.
“When I was 17, I worked in Paris near the Place Vendôme. We all lived in Paris and lived and died for that,” he said somewhat wistfully.
Then fellow Harvard Hasty Pudding performer Sharon Hoge buzzed by for a quick hello and to remind him of his collegiate cross-dressing days singing, “Career girls are independent” on stage. Weld explained, “So my preparation for my career in politics was prancing around on stage wearing women’s clothes and high heels.”
“And a huge brassiere,” she

RuPaul Hosts Reddit ‘Ask Me Anything’

Well, well, well. Looks like Ms. RuPaul himself finally sat down with the Reddit community and opened the doors for something we’ve all been waiting for: an “Ask Me Anything!”

While Ru ignored a couple of the questions that we’re dying to know the answer to (…”All Stars 2” anyone?), the Supermodel of The World did toss us a few juicy tidbits.

One of our favorite moments came when Ru discussed meeting Kurt Cobain at the ’93 VMAs shortly after Ru rocketed to stardom:

He was a real sweetheart. And he told me that he had come to see my nightclub act, in Seattle, but got there two hours too late! Haha! He had no idea that they put me on at the club so early. So he completely missed me. But he was a real sweetheart, a real kind soul. And he actually – we worked together again on SNL, you know, later on that same year. And he and the rest of the boys were absolutely fabulous, so lovely, and they really appreciated what I was doing, I think mainly because he thought outside the box and understood that, you know, what drag is at its core, totally punk-rock.

Another fan questioned Ru about the upcoming season seven of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” noting that in the past the show has taken aim at other popular television programs. When probed about what shows will be skewered on this upcoming season, he responded with: “SCANDAL… It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia… and Workaholics.”

Ru also answered one fan’s question about why he never took a drag name, and instead built his career on his legal name.

“Because I was stupid,” he claims. “It’s important to use a stage name so that your real name doesn’t appear on public records.”

And to top it all off… Ru finally settled the debate surrounding his famous “Pickle Surprise” video with Lady Bunny, filmed way back in the day.

HAHAHAHAHAA. Oh my god,” Ru told the commenter. “Do you realize that we filmed Pickle Surprise about twenty-five years ago? And the surprise in a pickle surprise is that there is no pickle! HAHAHA!”

Head here to read the whole Reddit “Ask Me Anything.”
