Watch Prince William’s Tearful Meeting with Teen Who Attempted Suicide: ‘It’s So Personal’

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Prince William took on a therapist-style role as he hosted a moving video with a mother who lost her son, and a teen who contemplated suicide over cyberbullying.

The women, who were the prince’s guests at Kensington Palace, spoke to the royal dad about their deep traumas following the consequences of online abuse.

The film reveals William’s motivation for his taskforce on cyberbullying. Mom Lucy Alexander and teen Chloe Hine both contributed to the taskforce’s investigation over the last 18 months.

After the birth of his son, Prince George, William heard about a young boy “who had killed himself following a vicious campaign of online bullying,” a Kensington Palace statement says. “As he looked into the issue further it was soon clear there were many similar stories from the UK and around the world.”

He was then inspired to set up the ambitious taskforce, which brings together tech and media companies.

Last year, Lucy Alexander shared the story about her son, Felix, who took his own life following online abuse. She started her own campaign to raise awareness of the issues in an effort to ensure no other parents would suffer the heartbreak of losing a child to online bullies. “ read Lucy’s story and asked her to be one of the parents to help the taskforce better understand the impact of cyberbullying,” the statement adds.

In the video, which ends with William giving both women a compassionate hug, Lucy Alexander says, “I sort of feel that Felix has given me a job to do – and my job is to make sure that we try and help as many other people like him.”

Chloe Hine, who was a member of William’s Taskforce Youth Panel, attempted to take her own life at 13 years old after being attacked online. She explains in the video that it was while writing a goodbye note that she found comfort in the ability to express what she had been unable to say in person. “On social media you can’t escape it, you’re constantly with that bully. People just turned against me because they thought ‘she said this one thing this one time so let’s all hate her for that’, and it just spiraled out of control from there.”

She continues: “It’s written down, so it’s there to look back at, time and time again. And if you’re in a negative space, that’s all you can see. You look for the negativity and you look for the cruel things.”

William brought together some of the world’s most recognizable names in media and tech, such as Apple, Facebook, Google, Twitter and online media companies, as well as children’s charities and parents, to work alongside the panel of young people to find ways to tackle cyberbullying.

On Thursday, William is set to unveil the results of his taskforce, which was chaired by tech entrepreneur Brent Hoberman.

If you or someone you know is considering suicide, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

It’s Rugby Day for William and Harry! Royal Brothers Tackle Separate Games

It is rugby day for royal brothers Prince Harry and Prince William. The athletic royals may be over 100 miles apart, but they are both supporting the sport they love.

Harry, 33, was at Twickenham, on the western edge of London, catching England as they took on Argentina on Saturday, while William, 35, headed to Cardiff to catch Wales playing Australia.

During a poignant weekend for the U.K., as those who have died or been injured in wars are being remembered, Harry met volunteers from the Commonwealth War Grave Commission (CWGC), which is the official match-day charity at the England game. The organization builds and maintains the memorials and preserves records of those who perished in WWI and WWII around the globe. Harry, who is patron of the Rugby Football Union, which runs the game in England, also met with those nominated for their contribution to the sport across the country.

Meanwhile, William, who is royal patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, will spend time with the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, which supports players and their families who have been severely injured while playing rugby in Wales.

And, at half time, William is set to chat with local Coach Core Apprentices, who are learning to be role models and mentors in their communities, under a mentoring program devised by William, Harry and Kate Middleton to create more sports trainers in the 16-24 age group. It is part of the royals’ drive to use sport as a way of bringing about positive change, especially for young people.

The royal brothers have already marked Remembrance week, with William speaking at a dinner for veterans at the Imperial War Museum, London, and Harry laying a small wooden cross among hundreds of others at the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday (when he joked that he “can’t hide” girlfriend Meghan Markle at public events).

SNL Takes on Harvey Weinstein Scandal: ‘It’s Not a Mistake — It’s a Full Season of Law & Order’

One week after Saturday Night Live made last minute cuts on jokes about Harvey Weinstein‘s sexual misconduct scandal, the sketch show came out swinging against the movie mogul.

During Saturday’s “Weekend Update” segment, Colin Jost and Michael Che jumped right in with Weinstein jokes, combined with the news of Apple’s new emojis.

“Apple announced it will add hundreds of new emojis to its iOS system including a person at a spa, a vomiting face and a shushing finger — finally giving emoji fans the ability to describe what it was like to work for Harvey Weinstein,” host Jost said.

Jost then announced that the producer is seeking treatment.

“Somehow, I don’t think that is going to help anybody,” he said. “He doesn’t need sex rehab. He needs a specialized facility where there are no women, no contact with the outside world, metal bars, and it’s a prison.”

RELATED: The Harvey Weinstein Scandal — All of the Hollywood Figures Who Have Spoken Out Against Movie Mogul

Co-anchor Che also didn’t hold back.

“This is a tough spot for a comedian because it’s so hard to make jokes about sexual assault, but it’s so easy to make jokes about a guy that looks like this,” he said. “I mean, he looks like chewed bubblegum rolled in cat hair.”

Che added, “Weinstein told reporters that ‘we all make mistakes,’ but you assaulted dozens of women — that’s not a mistake, that’s a full season of Law and Order.”

Multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, which came to light in an Oct. 5 New York Times exposé and were compounded by a subsequent investigation by the New Yorker, have been brought against Weinstein in the past few weeks.

Following the initial report, Weinstein said in a statement that he was working with therapists and planned to “deal with this issue head-on.” He has since been fired from his powerhouse studio, the Weinstein Company, and his wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, has announced she’s leaving him.

In response to the lengthy allegations made against Weinstein in the New Yorker piece, a spokesperson for Weinstein said, “Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.”

In another sketch, Aidy Bryant moderated a panel of three screen legends — Leslie Jones as Viola Davis, Cecily Strong as Marion Cotillard and Kate McKinnon playing fan-favorite character Debette Goldry — discussing sexual harassment in the industry through the years.

“Have I ever experienced sexual harassment in Hollywood? Good Friday, where do you want me to start?” Goldry exclaimed. “Women being harassed is Hollywood. Everything old is new again. Producers are abusing starlets. There’s Nazis marching in the street. And suddenly nude pantyhose are on-trend. I have never felt more at home.”

She added, “When’s polio coming back? This will be fun.”

The actresses discussed their own experiences will sexual harassment, such as men getting naked or trying to coerce them into giving a massage — allegations that mirror what women have said against Weinstein.

“I did have one meeting with Harvey,” McKinnon’s character said. “I was invited to his hotel room and when I arrived he was naked, hanging upside down from a monkey bar. He tried to trick me into thinking his genitals were actually his face. It almost worked. The resemblance is uncanny.”

McKinnon turned to the camera for the final word against sexual harassment and assault.

“Violence against women, it doesn’t just happen to famous actresses, it’s everywhere, d— it! It’s time we take it seriously,” said Goldry. “Pandora’s box is open now, and Pandora’s p—-d.”

When Olivia Newton-John began to have trouble walking, she never imagined that it was due to a cancer relapse.

The 68-year-old actress told Today that she initially thought her pain was due to sciatica. However, she soon learned she had breast cancer that had metastasized to the sacrum.

“I guess it was a little surprising,” she told Natalie Morales in an interview that aired Thursday morning. “I never would have associated it because in my mind, it was over. I had finished with it.”

However, Newton-John is not letting her diagnosis get her down. Although she admits to having dark moments, she chooses to be positive and look forward with a “glass half full” attitude.

“I don’t read into prognosis and statistics because I think that can really be depressing,” she said. “I’m not going to be one of those statistics, I’m going to be fine.”

The Grease star added, “I will probably deal with this in my life as an ongoing thing. I think you can live with cancer the way you live with other things if you take care of yourself.”

In addition to traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, Newton-John credits beating cancer the first time to her overall wellness plan. The cancer treatment center in Melbourne, Australia, which bears her name now offers patients holistic treatments including yoga, massages, art and music therapy to aid in their recovery.

The actress also shared that she’s been treating the pain with medical marijuana her husband John Easterling grows.

“People have this vision from the ’60s of people just sitting around and getting stoned,” she said. “I think that it’s not about that. This plant is a healing plant. I think we need to change the vision of what it is because it helped me greatly and it helps with pain and inflammation.”

RELATED VIDEO: How Olivia Newton-John Is Staying Strong After Metastatic Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Newton-John, who said her cancer battle has taught her that she’s stronger than she knew, calls herself a cancer “thriver.”

“Survivor sounds like someone clinging onto a lifeboat to me,” she said. “A thriver is someone who’s already off the boat and on land.”

Pennywise vs. the Joker: It’s Bill Skarsgard Compares and Contrasts His Terrifying Performance to Heath Ledger’s

They both played infamously evil clowns, but It’s Bill Skarsgard sees some major differences between his Pennywise and Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight.

“I think the biggest difference between Pennywise and the Joker character — or at least Heath Ledger’s interpretation — is that he’s far more based in reality,” Skarsgard, 27, tells PEOPLE.

“ is sort of this social anarchist, crazy person, and I don’t think Pennywise is the same in that way. He’s not even human, he’s just pure evil,” he adds.

The boyishly handsome Skarsgard, son of acclaimed actor Stellan, and younger brother to fellow actors Gustav and Alexander, is unrecognizable as Stephen King’s Pennywise the Dancing Clown from his 1987 novel It.

In the book, which gained further popularity after it was adapted into a 1990 TV series starring Tim Curry, Pennywise is an otherworldly force of evil that feeds on children in the fictional town of Derry, Maine.

But Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight had bigger plans than just eating and scaring the bejeezus out of little kids. His version of the Batman villain, which earned him a posthumous Oscar, was hellbent on creating chaos, upsetting the social order and of course, killing “the Batman.”

For Skarsgard, Pennywise’s motivations are “less crazy” than the Joker’s plan to turn an entire city against itself. Not that his clown is a jolly Bozo either: “Of course, Pennywise is still dark and sinister — and he’s going after kids.”

While the characters have their differences, both Ledger and Skarsgard worked tirelessly to transform themselves. “Where I went with it was like, ‘What’s the most horrible thing that could happen here?’ And then I’d do that,” Skarsgard explains. “You need to access parts of yourself where you’re thinking about what’s the most disturbing or horrifying , and then you have to commit to that.”

Skarsgard admits he had nightmares for weeks after It wrapped, saying, “It was very strange, it was almost like a really slow exorcism to completely let go of him.”

After Ledger’s death in 2008 from an accidental prescription drug overdose, rumors abounded that he “was taken down this dark spiral path to the depths of depression from his role as the Joker,” as I Am Heath Ledger producer and co-director Derik Murray told USA Today.

But his family and friends have vehemently dismissed the rumor. “Honestly, that’s been the biggest thing for us as a family,” Kate Ledger, Heath’s older sister, told the outlet. “He had an amazing sense of humor and certainly playing the Joker, for him it was one big gag. He had so much fun doing that. It was actually the exact opposite. There was no doom and gloom. … That was a shock to me that people even thought that, really.”

Despite Skarsgard’s bad dreams, he says, “I did have so much fun with the character, and I’m really looking forward to getting back under that clown makeup for the sequel.”

When Celebrities Do The Weather, It’s Breezy With A Chance Of Hilarity

Going on a news show to promote a new project is a normal part of a celebrity’s life.

Usually, these appearances just involve the anchors asking the standard questions about the famous person’s latest project.

Sometimes, though, the famous folk get asked to do the weather — and that’s when the craziness really begins.

The video above shows what happens when people like Katy Perry, Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Carell step out of their comfort zone and do the weather.

Kevin Hart shows one weather woman the importance of doing squats.

Tom Hanks seems more interested in dancing with the weather woman than talking about storm fronts.

Katy Perry isn’t quite able to master looking at the weather map and the camera at the same time.

Ellen DeGeneres just turns the thing into a bizarre interpretive dance.

Let the laughter rain down.

Princess Eugenie Says She’s a Fan of The Crown: It’s ‘Beautiful’

Well, The Crown does have some royal approval after all.

While it is unknown whether the subject herself, Queen Elizabeth, has seen any of the 10-part first season (in which she is played by Claire Foy), now her granddaughter Princess Eugenie has revealed she’s a fan of the Netflix hit.

“It has been filmed beautifully. The music is wonderful,” she told a gathering in London this week. “The story is beautiful and you feel very proud to watch it.”

The palace has stayed quiet on whether the Queen, 91, has watched the show, but insiders have told PEOPLE that it was the talk of the staff, and that her inner circle watched it early on in private screenings.

Eugenie, 27, shared her critique at a private evening Wednesday hosted by a family friend, Hong Kong businessman Sir David Tang, at the China Exchange in London.

She also spoke about the relationship she has with her “granny” the Queen. “Everyone knows the relationship you have with a grandparent is truly special. You want to hold on to that as long as possible,” she said, according to The Times.

It’s Only Just Beginning (Again) For Harry Styles

Harry Styles has always wanted to stage-dive into a crowd.

Perhaps its a sign of the times that he just decided to go for it, at the tail end of an intimate iHeartRadio show at Rough Trade NYC ahead of his self-titled album’s Friday debut.

After the dive, it took Styles several minutes to emerge from the circle of fans that surrounded him to climb back over the barrier and onstage, leaving in his wake an epic story to be detailed and rehashed on Twitter, adding to the overwhelming narrative surrounding the musician days before his first solo release: Harry Styles is as big as ever, and he still knows how to surprise us — even when doing so means knocking into fans with his boots during that impromptu leap off the stage.

Some have been waiting to hear what Styles could do solo since his turn as a 16-year-old contestant on the British “X Factor” in 2010, where he met the four other young singers who would join him on a sky-high ascension as the boy band One Direction. “Sign of the Times,” the first single from Styles’ self-titled album, was a sweeping, decidedly un-boy-bandy statement on how he sounds when it’s just him.

A caveat that feels necessary: To praise Styles’ new sound is not to disparage his former group’s. Both this new guitar-heavy, occasionally Bowie-esque pop rock and the more danceable bubble-gum tunes that preceded it are worthy in their own right. (As are the One Direction men themselves; their 2011 acoustic version of “One Thing” should have been enough to convince you. Don’t @ me.)

Those who are surprised by Harry Styles’ stylings, or the deference he showed fans in his Rolling Stone cover story, or the fact that he wore a badge that said “treat people with kindness” during his “SNL” stint last month, shouldn’t be. There have been signposts along the way — his extremely pleasant tweets or the times he’s pointed out when something objectifies women, for example — that have hinted Styles was not your average pop superstar. Now that the spotlight’s on him, it’s easier to see than ever.

During the cozy iHeartRadio set on Monday, Styles performed for a small crowd of lucky fans. He admitted in a Q&A with Z100 host Maxwell, though, that he had been nervous about the kind of reception his solo efforts would get, and felt grateful for the positive reaction so far.

With his backing band to support him, Styles played “Ever Since New York,” which he had performed publicly only once before, on “SNL.” He told the crowd, who already knew the words by heart, that he’d written the tune just blocks away.

That song and one other, “Two Ghosts,” that he played for the first time in front of a crowd (“Well, I played it for my mum,” he clarified, “We played it for all our mums”) seem to speak of relationships gone sour. The uptempo “Carolina” hinges its chorus on Styles repeating “She’s a good girl!” while his bandmates chime in with boppy “la, la, la”s behind him.

After the stage dive, the show ended. The crowd mostly parted, with some fans sticking around in the hopes of snagging a selfie or other brief, validating connection with Styles on his way out of the venue. It would be an early day for him and his crew tomorrow on the “Today” show, where they’d be playing for several blocks of shouting fans on a brisk Manhattan morning. All in a day’s work for Styles, but still, in a way, just the beginning.

Tune in to your local iHeartRadio station, or Hot AC station, on Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m. for the broadcast of Harry Styles’ performance.

Amy Schumer Says It’s Other People Who Need To Accept Her Body, Not Her

It seems like everyone has way too much to say about Amy Schumer’s body ― except, refreshingly, Schumer herself.

Perhaps that’s why the topics of body image and self-love took up much of the “Snatched” star’s recent interview with Refinery29. With her trademark confidence, Schumer addressed her recent InStyle swimsuit cover and the controversy that arose when a swimsuit designer suggested Schumer shouldn’t wear a bathing suit.

“I’m not like rolling around in bed going ‘Yaaas,’ but I think I can feel great,” Schumer said. “I can be feeling myself! Like I shot that InStyle cover and I was really feeling myself that day. I think that sort of acceptance… when I see myself in this movie, in a bathing suit, I’m fine. There’s nothing for me to get over. This is my body. This is my face. This is it. I don’t strive for this other version.

“I want to be healthy,” she continued, “and my weight fluctuates and whatever, but… I feel like other people need to work on accepting my body. Or not! People need time to decide how they feel about my body. I don’t think about my body. I want to be healthy.”

Schumer concedes that she feels “really lucky” for her deep-rooted self-confidence and feels bad for young women “growing up with all this social media and stuff.” But we could all learn a thing or two from Schumer’s relationship with her own body, and our relationships with other people’s bodies ― in that those latter relationships need not exist.

Head to Refinery29 to read the entire interview.

Netflix’s ‘Casting JonBenét’ Doesn’t Have Any Answers, But It’s Not Trying To Crack The Case

Six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was murdered in her home in Boulder, Colorado, sometime late on Dec. 25 or in the early hours of Dec. 26, 1996.

Now, 20 years and some months later, her unsolved murder has been the subject of numerous articles, books and television specials. The latest addition to the genre is Netflix’s newest documentary, “Casting JonBenét,” which doesn’t concern itself actually trying to solve the murder of the miniature blond beauty queen. In fact, no new evidence is uncovered and no forensic experts were interviewed for the project. Instead, the film explores JonBenét’s tragic death through the audition tapes of mostly amateur Colorado-based actors, who offer their insight, theories, judgments and personal experiences.

The film’s director, Kitty Green, grew up in Australia, where she was “obsessed” with American television and sitcom fantasy families when Ramsay died.

“I had never seen a beauty pageant or even heard of a beauty pageant before, so it was so foreign,” she told HuffPost in an interview on Friday, when the film began streaming on Netflix. “It was a uniquely American phenomenon and I was captivated by how odd it was, how dark it was and how it kind of punctured this image I had of idyllic American life.”

Those who grew up in the ‘90s will likely relate to Green’s earliest memories of the case.

“I mean, it was the imagery associated with it, which was all the pageants and crowns and the dress and the feather outfits that she was put in,” she said.”I think those images were really haunting. So it was almost like this image of this pageant queen who almost seemed to have it all, but whose life went horribly wrong, or horrifically had it taken away from her.”

Green’s fascination with the case ended up being a lasting one. Whenever she would meet someone from Colorado, she couldn’t help but ask who they thought was responsible for JonBenét’s murder. Their varied responses piqued her interest.

Before making the film, Green said she read every book and watched every TV special on the case. She came to the conclusion that trying to find JonBenét’s killer was futile and decided she didn’t want to make another true crime documentary.

“I knew there’s no way we can solve this,” she said. “There’s absolutely no way we can find out who killed her. So my motivation became an entirely different thing. If we can’t solve the crime, then how do we deal with the idea that we will never know?”

Green said that she’s more interested in the remaining ambiguity and the mystery that haunts the public as the case remains unsolved, and believes the casting-tape framework employed in the film allows for the actors to “talk about how it affected them emotionally and personally and they can draw parallels with their own lives and look at the way that they kind of digest this tabloid material and true crime films.”

In the course of the film, multiple actors audition for the roles the members of the Ramsay family, as well as local law enforcement and other suspects. It’s through these auditions that these actors reveal their own theories and personal experiences that they believe better inform them to portray the character ― like one actress whose brother had been murdered and spoke of understanding how people might react to the sudden loss of a loved one in different manners.

“I always knew we’d get stories out of people, but I was amazed at the level of honesty and some of the stories were so heartbreaking and it was an incredible experience and a privilege to be in the room with them. I guess I didn’t expect that level of raw emotional humanity that we got,” she said.

Since “Casting JonBenét” doesn’t offer any answers, it’s easy to see why it might be construed as exploitative ― not just of the 20-year-old cold case, but of the actors and their own stories. But everything is up for the viewer to decide.

“We’re looking at the way people speculate. The way people jump to conclusions,” Green explained, later adding that the film is about “human experience.”

When asked what she hopes viewers will take away from watching her film, she hesitated, and then recalled a time when someone approached her after a screening.

“They had read everything about the case for the last 20 years ―every article, watched every special ― but this was the first time they actually felt anything or felt any empathy for this family and the loss of life,” Green said. “And if they can feel the gravity of what happened in that town, if [the film] can humanize this whole case for people in some way, that would be really fabulous.”

“Casting JonBenét” is now streaming on Netflix.

“We decided not to have children,” she told Couric. “I really appreciate that other people do, and we will always have friends that have children that we are close to, but it was a choice I made very early. I really felt ― I feel ― that I would have never been able to have the life I’ve had. So it’s a choice and that was the choice I made.”

Someone ‘Fixed’ The Pepsi Ad So It Features Real Protesters, And It’s Awesome

Pepsi faced intense backlash last week after the company debuted an advertisement featuring Kendall Jenner wading through a political protest to hand a can of soda to a police officer. By depicting a whitewashed view of political protest, critics said, Pepsi was taking advantage of increased activism without doing anything to help the causes it hoped to profit from.

The ad was eventually pulled and Pepsi apologized on April 5. But a day later, the production company ThirtyRev released its own version of the commercial ― this one featuring real protesters at Standing Rock fighting to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline.

“Hey @pepsi…don’t worry we fixed it for u,” the company said in a tweet

For the video, ThirtyRev laid the same song used in the Pepsi ad, Skip Marley’s “Lions,” over powerful footage of water protectors at Standing Rock continuing to protest in the face of intense police opposition. Near the end of the ad, the Pepsi logo flashes across the screen alongside the words “Water Is Life.”

The final product, which is simply titled “Fixed Pepsi Ad,” is a powerful tribute to the men and women who actually put their lives on the line for the causes they believe in.

Joseph von Meding, a filmmaker at ThirtyRev, told Business Insider that when he first saw the original Pepsi ad it bothered him. “It came across as a bunch of advertising execs using a 20- or 30-year-old advertising playbook with a sprinkling of those recent ‘cool protests’ thrown into the mix,” he said.

ThirtyRev strives to create films “that contribute towards making the world a safe, just and sustainable place,” according to the company.

‘Juno’ Writer Says It’s Definitely Not An ‘Anti-Choice Movie’

In the 2007 film “Juno,” it isn’t long after Ellen Page’s character discovers the one doodle that can’t be undid ― her surprise pregnancy ― that she decides to put her baby up for adoption.

But the idea that “Juno” might be perceived as an anti-choice film has been “haunting” screenwriter Diablo Cody “for years,” Vanity Fair reported. Cody appeared at a Planned Parenthood benefit Sunday alongside cast members Page and Jennifer Garner, who participated in a live, all-female “Juno” script reading.

Abortion may have been a logical step for the teenage high school student, as it is for many facing unplanned pregnancies. Yet, although Juno walks into an abortion clinic, having talked over the option with her boyfriend Paulie (Michael Cera), she appears to be swayed by an anti-abortion classmate protesting outside, after learning her fetus might have already developed fingernails. Juno leaves the clinic.

Historically, abortion has been a rare plot point in Hollywood films. When it does appear in a storyline, the decision might provide a moment of melodrama as the pregnant character wrestles with “wrong” and “right,” which is implied to be carrying the baby to term no matter the circumstances of the mother.

But Cody, who banged out the “Juno” script from a Minnesota Target Starbucks in about one month, stressed that the character’s decision wasn’t the result of any “moral conundrum.”

Rather, the writer, with all her own “personal peccadillos,” put herself in Juno’s shoes and pictured how she might react, explaining, “I’m afraid to give blood, so I could see myself freaking out in the waiting room of an abortion clinic,” Vanity Fair reported.

“In a way, I feel like I had a responsibility to maybe be more explicitly pro-choice, and I wasn’t,” Cody told the outlet, adding that although she “never attempted to hide” her views on abortion, “I think I took the right to choose for granted at the time.”

Planned Parenthood provides information about and referrals to adoption agencies in addition to its abortion services. Since President Donald Trump’s election, the women’s health organization been under threat of defunding by his administration, inspiring a surge in donations. While Vice President Mike Pence stated that he would like to send a woman’s right to abortion “to the ash heap of history, where it belongs,” Trump also voiced anti-choice views on the campaign trail. His Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, a 49-year-old conservative judge who was confirmed Friday, may help decide the future of abortion rights in the U.S.

For Cody, who went on to write the female-fronted film “Young Adult” and series “United States of Tara,” the Planned Parenthood benefit helped assuage her fears.

“It was very healing for me tonight to have a representative from Planned Parenthood stand up there and say that she supported the narrative,” she said

It’s Baldwin vs. Baldwin As ‘O’Reilly’ And ‘Trump’ Chat Sex Harassment ‘SNL’

Alec Baldwin faced himself on “Saturday Night Live,” but it wasn’t so very hard to do because he was playing two brothers from another mother: Bill O’Reilly and Donald Trump.

When those guys get together, can the topic of sex harassment be very far away? Baldwin’s O’Reilly discovers during the skit that one of his reporters isn’t on the scene — and no longer works for Fox News — prompting O’Reilly to ask: “Did she get the check?” The reporter’s disappearing act is a dig about recent reports of payments to at least five women to settle sex harassment accusations against O’Reilly. Other disappearing acts? Some 60 Fox News sponsors who no longer want to be associated with the “O’Reilly Factor.” That leaves a room for a commercial promoting “Dog Cocaine” on the “SNL” skit.

Baldwin’s O’Reilly finally ‘fesses up that he’s been the subject of some fuzzy complaints from women involving “exciting opportunities” he has offered. Fortunately, notes Baldwin, someone who is “unimpeachable on all female issues” has stepped forward to defend him.

Cue “Hail to the Chief,” and there’s Baldwin — again — on the other side of a split screen playing Trump. “I see a lot of myself in you, Bill,” says Baldwin’s Trump.

“O’Reilly” thanks “Trump” for saying that he “did nothing wrong,” even though it appears Trump doesn’t really know the facts of the case. He had a “loose hunch,” says Baldwin’s Trump. “I’m more familiar with this case than, say … health care.”

What It’s Like To Be A Bride When All Your Bridesmaids Are Pregnant

When Heather Lundgren got engaged in December 2015, she immediately knew who her five bridesmaids would be: her dear friends Lauren, Kari, Ashley, Laurel and Miranda.

What she didn’t know was that in the next year, all five of those women would become pregnant, including two whose due dates now fall on the same week as the June 10 wedding in Plymouth, Minnesota. The rest are due in July.

“I knew pregnancy was a possibility for a few of them for sure,” Heather told The Huffington Post. “Not really a huge deal to me! Definitely didn’t think all five would be AND due within weeks of each other.”

While shopping for bridesmaids dresses in October, Miranda was the first to share the news that she was pregnant. Then came Kari, Lauren and Ashley. In November, Laurel was the last one to reveal she, too, was expecting.

“At first I laughed because I secretly knew Laurel was going to be,” Heather told HuffPost. “And then I was almost relieved, because I would’ve felt bad for her being left out of the pregnancy fun! Might as well make it a full party.”

Sure, the baby news posed a few challenges (the dresses were ordered before everyone had announced their pregnancies, for example). But more than anything, Heather was concerned with her friends being comfortable on the big day.

“Their health is No. 1!” the bride said. “Honestly, though, I am lucky. I have incredible friends who are agreeing to support me as much as they possibly can. For most of them this is their first baby, so they don’t know what they don’t know! The fact that backing out was never an option to any of them is a testament to who they are as people.”

In an essay for Redbook published last week, Heather talked about the experience of having five BFFs in their third trimester on the big day, which she described as “a little stressful and overwhelming at first.” Some people have told Heather they feel bad for her, but she doesn’t see it that way.

“This is so unique and such a lasting memory,” Heather said. “Five new lives are being brought into this world and five women who didn’t really know each other prior have found a bond in each other. At the end of the day, I’m marrying my best friend with the people I love most there to witness it ― the rest is just details.”

For more on this story, head over to Redbook to read the full essay.

Meryl Streep has her unparalleled acting chops, Channing Tatum has his lascivious dance moves, Kim K has her controversial, barely-clothed selfies, and of course, Zac Efron has his claim to fame: a set of impossibly chiseled abs. And thankfully, the Baywatch star is unabashed about giving the people more of what they want, strolling around the deserts of Dubai with no shirt on, all in the name of Hugo Boss fragrance.

Efron is the face of the brand’s men’s cologne, Hugo by Hugo Boss, having starred in their Hugo Man “Your Time Is Now” campaign. And being a celebrity spokesman comes with its own set of perks, such as getting to travel half-way around the world on behalf of your day job. Which is how the actor recently found himself topless on a camel in the midst of the United Arab Emirates.

RELATED PHOTOS: 13 Glorious Shirtless Photos of Zac Efron to Celebrate His Birthday

Efron posted a series of videos and pictures to his Instagram stories chronicling his day spent traversing sand dunes with friends while visiting Dubai on behalf of Hugo Boss, and showing off his hard-earned muscles without the needless obfuscation of a t-shirt.

The actor was in town to promote the men’s cologne, making a public appearance at the Dubai Mall on Friday, followed by a private gala dinner. Efron took the rest of his time in the country to explore the surrounding environs, flexing and posing for the camera while wearing only a pair of black sweatpants, mirrored aviators, and a red and white keffiyeh. And while he probably doesn’t speak the language, the international language of six-packs truly needs no translation.

Are you looking forward to Zac’s new Hugo Boss ads? Sound off below!

Doris Day Discovers Just How Old She Is — And It’s Quite A Surprise

Age is just a number for Doris Day ― a higher number than she thought.

The star of such films as “Pillow Talk” and “That Touch of Mink” discovered that she turned 95 on Monday, not 93 as believed by many including Day herself, The Associated Press reported.

AP recently dug up Day’s birth certificate from Ohio’s Office of Vital Statistics, revealing a birthdate of April 3, 1922, for Doris Mary Kappelhoff, her real name before show business. Day, who had presumed she was born in 1924, was delighted with the news.

“I’ve always said that age is just a number and I have never paid much attention to birthdays, but it’s great to finally know how old I really am!” Day said in a statement Sunday.

Even as of early Monday, a Google search of “Doris Day” and “age” indicated 93.

Day’s spokesman, Charley Cullen Walters, told AP a story circulated that Day’s age may have been miswritten on an audition form many years ago, leading to the mixup.

While the age difference may not be as great as she thought, Day can still rib pal Betty White for being older, if just by a few months. White turned 95 in January, Vulture noted.

Now that Day’s birthdate is official, we want to wish her a happy birthday ― a happy 95th birthday.

13 Times Reese Witherspoon Nailed What It’s Like To Be A Mom

It’s a busy time for Reese Witherspoon. The actress wrapped filming “A Wrinkle In Time,” has been making the press rounds for her HBO miniseries “Big Little Lies,” and on Wednesday, celebrated her 41st birthday.

Witherspoon had a solid squad to help her commemorate the occasion. She’s married to talent agent Jim Toth and has three kids: 17-year-old Ava, 13-year-old Deacon and 4-year-old Tennessee.

Since becoming a mom, Witherspoon has been open about the ups and downs of parenting. In honor of her birthday, we’ve rounded up some of her best quotes about motherhood.

1. “I was 23 [when I became a mom]. I didn’t know what I was doing. I was young. It was shocking. When people ask, ‘When’s the best time to get pregnant?’ I say, ‘Pick the best day for when your entire life is gonna change.’ There’s no good time to have your world turned upside down.”

2. “I constantly question myself: Have I exposed them to the right amount of culture (no), do I spend enough time with each of them as individuals (probably not), do I have the right amount of work/family balance (who knows!). I’m trying!”

3. “We have rules around the house. I always say if you aren’t yelling at your kids you’re not spending enough time with them. Just telling everybody to clean up all the time. I feel like I’m always telling people to clean up. ‘Clean up, clean up, put your dishes in the dishwasher, put your clothes in the laundry, come on now.”

4. “The first few months with a baby are so disorienting. I felt like my brain was scrambled eggs, and I think it is, understandably, hard to get dressed or even get out of the house ― you have to go easy on yourself. Having prepared foods in the fridge and freezer was essential because thinking about cooking made me want to cry.”

5. “No one’s really doing it perfectly. I think you love your kids with your whole heart, and you do the best you possibly can.”

6. “People know not to call me before 8:15, because 8:15 is when everybody has to either be on the bus or at school and then my whole life starts at 8:15.”

7. “I don’t think there’s been an hour of my life since Ava was born that I don’t think of my kids. I call it my CNN ticker tape: Is Ava OK? Yes. Is Deacon OK? Yes. Is Tennessee OK? Yes. Back to Ava.”

8. “Seeing my kids for the first time was primal. The ferocity of love you feel for your children when you see them for the first time ― but you’ve known them inside you ― is phenomenal.”

9. “When I had a little girl at 22, I was even more determined to, I don’t know … I went from just surviving to, ‘Who do I want to be for this other person?’ That’s what happens when you have a child… You kind of look inward. [When you have three], your eyes cross. You look so far inward that your eyes cross. No, you’re just confused all the time.”

10. “This is so dumb, but the other day Ava said, ‘Well, Mom, you said that drinking water with lemon is good for my body. I burst into tears, going, ‘Oh my God, you listen to me!’ Parenting triumph.”

11. “Having kids made me clearer about who I was as a woman. I just wanted to exhibit good qualities for my daughter. I was a little competitive before I had kids ― probably really competitive, to be honest. It really made me let go of that.”

12. “There are some sacrifices you make, and it hurts your heart sometimes, but my kids tell me they’re proud of what I’ve accomplished, and that just means everything. I grew up with a working mom, and I have so much respect for the things she did as a nurse and a teacher. I would never begrudge her that.”

13. “Parenthood is not at all what I expected it to be. I thought you make little people in your image. But they are just nothing like me or their father. They are their own individuals.”

Sometimes, the other partner said it back:

And sometimes they didn’t:

‘It’s a Danger to Our Students’: Illinois Student Dies During Unofficial St. Patrick’s Day Drinking Event

A student at the University of Illinois fell off a balcony and died Friday during “Unofficial St. Patrick’s Day,” an annual campustown event marked by its daylong drinking and rowdy celebrations, officials say.

The death of Jonathan Morales, 23, of Franklin Park, Illinois, is suspected to be an accident after he toppled over the balcony railing from his fourth-floor apartment and fell to the concrete courtyard in the interior of the apartment complex, Champaign police Sgt. Dennis Baltzell tells PEOPLE.

“He was on that balcony messing around somehow and accidentally went over,” Baltzell says.

Results from an autopsy, including a toxicology report, will take weeks but Baltzell said that Morales had been in his apartment with his roommate and friends who had come to town for the event, known commonly as “Unofficial,” and that Morales “had been drinking.”

Morales’s death was the third fatality during Unofficial, according to Robin Kaler, university spokeswoman. One woman died in 2006 after the motorcycle she was on crashed, and a man was killed in 2011 after two vehicles hit him, she said.

Unofficial was launched about 21 years ago by a Champaign bar owner after noticing he was losing business on St. Patrick’s Day because the holiday often falls during spring break, Kaler said. Instead, Unofficial takes place before students leave for break and “is typically celebrated by donning green clothing and regalia and consuming large quantities of alcohol with friends at a bar or private party, often starting early in the morning,” according to a history of the day.

“That’s the sole purpose of Unofficial: excessive drinking,” Kaler tells PEOPLE.

The “fake holiday,” she said, has become a “destination event,” attracting students from other Illinois campuses as well as those from around the nation, as determined by data compiled from police and hospital reports.

In the past, some students showed up to class drunk or tried to smuggle alcohol into classrooms, she said.

The university, police and city have tried reining in the revelry with a variety of measures the day of or in the weeks before Unofficial, including police officers going door-to-door talking to students about responsible drinking, raising the age at which patrons can enter bars to 21 that day from 18 or 19 the rest of the year, limiting packaged alcohol sales, banning guests in the dorms that weekend and sending letters to parents asking them to speak to their children about their behavior.

“We would like very much for it to never happen again,” Kaler says of Unofficial. “It’s a danger to our students …We lost a young man. That’s absolutely tragic.”

Robert Jones, the university’s chancellor, also lamented the loss of Morales. “We must find a way to work together as a community to end this event and avoid more senseless tragedy,” he said.

Morales was a junior studying communication at the Champaign-Urbana campus of the state’s flagship university, Kaler said.

One of his instructors described him as a “bright spot” in her business communications class.

“When you teach at 9 a.m. three times a week, it’s tough to have students who are consistently present, awake, and ready to jump in,” said Kate Ditewig-Morris. “Jon Morales was one of those students.”

Morales, she said, was “always engaged, smiling, and respectful to me and the other students in class. Slightly older than the others, Jon was establishing himself as a solid anchor among the others… I shall miss him very, very much.”

A GoFundMe page has been started to help Morales’ family with funeral expenses.

It’s a Very Kardashian Khristmas! Kim Joins Family for Kris Jenner’s Annual Holiday Party

This is how the Kardashian-Jenners do Christmas.

Kim Kardashian West joined the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan for Kris Jenner‘s annual holiday bash on Saturday — and what a party it was!

Although the 36-year-old mom of two didn’t post any shots from the party on her own social media, she appeared to be the star of many of her sister’s Snapchats, particularly Khloé Kardashian, who just couldn’t help but gush about her older sister.

“Look who it is in the house. Mrs. West in the building,” Khloé said in a Snap video of herself and Kardashian West cuddling close. It is unclear whether Kanye West attended.

She soon devoted an entire Snap video to Kardashian West’s ensemble — a shining gold, form-fitting, cleavage-baring dress featuring a curious accessory — a lip ring.

“How to die? How dope is my f—— sister? Look at this dress and look at the jewelry. You are a bad a– bitch, Kim!” Khloé declared.

Kardashian West then took over Khloé’s Snapchat to record a clip of Khloé, who wore a shining, black and gold min-dress, holding her daughter North West.

“Look at Northie in her Alexander Wang custom little dress,” Kardashian West said, showcasing North’s black, bejeweled gown. “She loves it.”

As one would expect from a Kris Jenner party, the bash was star-studded with John Legend, Babyface and David Foster attending to perform some tunes — “Show off, Babyface!” Khloé yelled as he sang.

Kourtney Kardashian‘s footage of the soirée was perhaps the liveliest of all. She Snapped several clips showing herself and her sisters dancing, playing and singing at the party.

In one Snap, Khloé, Kourtney and Kendall Jenner are shown singing along to Beyoncé’s “Love on Top.” An in another, Khloé held Kourtney, who wore a white fur to the bash, by the waist and spun her around.

Kylie Jenner attended the bash in a sparkling black bodysuit, and she brought a group of her friends in tow. She and her BFF Jordyn Woods gave sexy poses throughout the night as Jenner Snapped photos and videos of the two.

When she wasn’t taking selfies with Woods and the rest of her crew, Kylie Snapped videos of herself cuddling up to her rapper boyfriend Tyga. The two even shared a few kisses in the footage. At one point, Kylie showed off a diamond necklace that Tyga had apparently given her as a gift. She later said she matched with her mom Kris, who was wearing a similar necklace. (It was unclear if Tyga also gave a similar necklace to Kris.)

Snubbed! Blac Chyna Not Invited to Kardashians’ Holiday Party — They ‘Can’t Stand’ the Drama

Caitlyn Jenner along with Scott Disick and Kourtney’s children were also in attendance.

Notably absent from the family gathering were Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna. A source previously told PEOPLE that Kris did not include Chyna on the guest list for the party amid Rob and Chyna’s relationship drama.

“Rob’s family is over Chyna,” the source said. “She is not invited to Kris’ holiday party.”

The First Photo Of Prince Harry With Meghan Markle Is Here, And It’s Adorable

You’ve seen the Instagram posts, spotted the friendship bracelets and read Prince Harry’s noble defense of his girlfriend.

Now, at last, you can see first photos of the prince and “Suits” actress Meghan Markle together in public for the first time.

The Sun snapped the couple braving the brisk British weather in beanies on Wednesday evening, as they headed for the play “The Curious Incident of the Dog at the Nighttime” at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End.

The 32-year-old prince and Markle, 35, appeared relaxed as they walked “hand in hand.” And they didn’t care much that someone was photographing them, according to the British tabloid.

The lovebirds even shopped for a Christmas tree together, The Sun reports.

Markle is reportedly staying with Harry at his two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

The actress flew from her home in Toronto to London on Sunday to see her prince charming. The two are also planning a getaway vacation.

They’ve reportedly been dating for about five months after meeting in May in Canada, where Harry was promoting the Invictus Games, the athletic competition he founded for injured military vets.

At first, they kept it relatively quiet, though both were spotted wearing the same blue-beaded bracelet. Markle posted a few shots of herself with the wrist bauble on Instagram.

And then there was this:

In November, Harry warned the press to stop harassing “his girlfriend,” who’s been stalked by paparazzi, citing safety concerns. The prince was “deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her,” according to a statement from Kensington Palace. The statement also called out the “outright sexism and racism of social media trolls.”

This is why Harry is our favorite prince.

It’s OK If You Don’t Want To Be An Entrepreneur

Why do you really want to build a business?

  • To make your life more exciting?
  • To have more freedom?
  • To make more money?

You probably want more of everything! Great, because in addition to all of the above, business can also be:

  • more terrifying,
  • more depressing,
  • more exhilarating,
  • more mundane,
  • more lonely,
  • more aggravating,
  • more unsure,
  • more annoying,
  • more liberating,
  • more expensive,
  • more time-consuming,
  • more joyful,
  • more unpredictable,
  • more stupid
  • and, of course, more wonderful.

So it’s not that you won’t have fun starting a business. You will. A ton of fun.

But you’ll also go through a multitude of other emotions, states, feelings and stark realities, with that same fun mixed in randomly.

So now is the time to ask yourself: can you deal with all the elements of entrepreneurship, or are you just down for the fun stuff?

It’s ok if you really just want to experience the fun stuff that entrepreneurship has to offer.

I’m not judging. But I am pointing out that it’s simply not the way it is — and unfortunately, you don’t find out a lot of the other elements until you’re so deep in the game that it doesn’t make sense to quit. That’s why there’s so much talk about “hustle” and never quitting in the business space online — because so many entrepreneurs are too deep in the game to even consider turning around.

Once you’re a few years deep, it’s much harder to just “move on.” So you have to be extremely tough mentally in order to make it. That’s where the “hustle” mentality comes from. Not because entrepreneurs are some rare breed that don’t get tired — but because mental and emotional resilience is a learned trait that must be developed in order for us to survive.

I’m not trying to scare you. I’m just trying to share some things I wish people would have told me in the beginning.

People start businesses hoping that it will solve their biggest problems, all the while, forgetting that any new challenge — and make no mistake, running a real business is a huge challenge — will inevitably create new, previously unforeseen problems.

If you’re down for that, cool. If you’re not, just be honest with yourself. There’s no shame in getting a good job. Honestly.

For as much as I preach about building your own thing (and I do strongly believe in it) — I’d rather see you just be honest with yourself and do what’s actually going to make you happy, rather than trying to do something that isn’t “you” because looking at hundreds of pictures on Instagram every day has tricked you into thinking that you’re missing out on something.

Trust me, you’re not.

And let me assure you, there is nothing morally redeeming about being a business owner. A lot of the talk online equates having your own company with “giving back” or living your life “to the fullest” — as if there’s no other employment setting where this might be possible.

False.

Entrepreneurship doesn’t bestow or imply any moral or ethical benefits.

Having a business isn’t a necessarily better way of living, it’s just an other way of living.

And this is your life. Any decision that you make for yourself will be correct — as long as you’re honest about what you really want.

“It’s Chloe Time”

By Jerry Zezima

I live in a different time zone than everybody else — right now it is 8:49 a.m., Eastern time, 5:49 on the West Coast and 12:27 on Mars — so I was a little late in finding out that my granddaughter Chloe, who is 3, recently got a watch.

I have had one watch in my life. It was given to me as a college graduation gift by my parents, who liked to remind me that I was born more than three weeks past my due date and hadn’t been on time for anything since. The watch was one of those digital numbers that didn’t have two hands, which required me to use two hands to tell the time. It was a pain in the wrist.

Not long after my wife, Sue, and I were married, our apartment was burglarized. Her watch was stolen. Mine was left behind. It wasn’t even good enough for thieves.

At the time (4:32 p.m.), I resolved never to wear a watch again. And I haven’t. I am in a deadline business, but I don’t care what time it is. If I need to know, I’ll look at the clock on the wall. If I don’t see a wall, I know I’m outside and that it’s time (midnight) to come in.

Now Chloe, who was born a week early, has a watch. It was given to her by her parents, though not as a college graduation gift because even kids these days don’t grow up that fast.

At least it’s not digital. It has a purple band with pink and white flowers and a face with two hands, which means Chloe doesn’t need two hands to tell the time.

What she does need is somebody to teach her how.

That, against all odds, is where I come in.

Whenever Chloe visits, she wants me to read her favorite literary masterpiece, “Tick and Tock’s Clock Book.” Subtitled “Tell the Time With the Tiger Twins!,” it’s the compelling if somewhat repetitive tale of two feline brothers who are baffled by time, which makes them no better than me. Of course, I never tell that to Chloe. Instead, I begin reading:

“Brrringg! The alarm clock rang so loudly it made Tick and Tock jump out of bed.

” ‘What time is it?!’ said Tock.

“Tick went to look at the clock.

” ‘Um … the big hand … Not sure,’ he said. What time did the clock say?”

“What time did the clock say, Poppie?” Chloe asked recently during a particularly dramatic reading.

“It didn’t say anything,” I replied. “Clocks can’t talk.”

Chloe giggled and said, “Silly Poppie!”

According to the drawing on the page, it was 8 a.m., even though it was 3:15 p.m. in my house, so I helped Chloe move the plastic hands — the big one to the 12, the little one to the 8 — on the clock in the upper right corner of the book.

The rest of the story follows the messy Tiger Twins through their day, during which they can’t figure out what time they are supposed to leave for school (8:30), finish their painting project (10:15), have lunch (12:30), go home (3:30) and have dinner (4:45).

But the best is saved for last. That’s when Tick and Tock’s mother, who has just cleaned up one of their many messes, announces, “There, it’s all tidy now. Look, it’s 8 o’clock, time for bed.”

But the clock on the wall says otherwise.

“Tick and Tock looked at the clock and said, ‘No, it’s not! It’s 7 o’clock. We have another hour to play, hooray!’ “

In one of the greatest endings in all of literature, the Tiger Twins’ mother can’t tell the time.

“Maybe,” I said to Chloe as I closed the book, “Tick and Tock should buy her a watch.”

The two-minute clip is everything we could have hoped for, featuring all the magic from the original animated feature. The only thing missing was Mrs. Potts (Angela Lansbury) singing, “Tale as old as time / Song as old as rhyme / Beauty and the Beast.”
