Kit Keenan, Daughter of Cynthia Rowley, Launching Her Own Line

Kit Keenan is following in the family footsteps.
Keenan, the daughter of fashion designer Cynthia Rowley and interior designer Bill Keenan, is launching her own fashion line, Kit, at the end of the month. The idea for the line is rooted in the fashion habits of the 19-year-old and her peers.
“What people my age want and need is reinvention, and thinking about the trends and what people wear right now. Especially with young people, our style is changing with trends all the time, so I wanted to have a freer form of what a brand meant,” she says. “The idea for the brand is every single time I do a launch, it completely changes. I want it to be for the girl whose style is always changing, because one day I’m wearing a dress, and the next day I’m wearing pants and a bucket hat. And I wanted to challenge myself to really reinvent clothing every time I design it.”
Hitting that note, her first collection taps into a frilly, ultrafeminine aesthetic incorporating reds and whites while the second collection will be streetwear-centric.
“I think that you see it a lot with lower-end huge brands like Zara, who’s doing so well because they’re changing

Princess Diana’s Wedding Dress Designer Is Launching a Very ’80s New Label

One of the designers behind Princess Diana’s wedding dress has a lot to be excited about in 2018.

Elizabeth Emanuel, who, with her then-husband David Emanuel, designed Diana’s 1981 gown, is set to launch a new fashion label. And she tells PEOPLE that the upcoming line, Emanuel Mayfair, will capture the energy of the 1980s and offer a dynamic twist on current trends.

Emanuel Mayfair is set to kick off in February after Emanuel received a new round of financial backing. She’s going to move into new, larger studios and is currently hiring a young and creative team, and recently appointed a CEO.

Elizabeth, whose most recent fashion label was been called Art of Being, says the new line will have the same “spirit” as her previous collections, but with a modern touch.

“It will have the spirit of Emanuel from the days when we made dresses some of the most of the most iconic women of the time like Elizabeth Taylor, Carolina Herrera and Joan Collins, but is taking it into the present,” she tells PEOPLE. “That whole period of time was wonderful but this will capture that but will also look contemporary and edgy. I’m bringing back the spirit in a new form after all these years. We will concentrate on bridal wear and evening wear – things to get dressed up in, pieces that are handcrafted and made to order.”

Emanuel, who spoke about her unique part in the life of the princess for PEOPLE’s The Story of Diana adds: “Our new studio is beautiful and is being renovated now for us to be ready in about a month.”

‘This is exciting. It shows that you if you never give up, good things happen. It is going to be a positive year.”

She hopes the first collection will emerge in July or September.

Sid Mashburn Launching Online ‘Made-to-Measurement’ Program

Sid Mashburn is taking the specialty store experience he’s gained over the past decade and extending it into the digital world.
On April 4, the Atlanta-based Mashburn, who operates five stores around the country, will launch a “made-to-measurement” program, offering customized shirts at a reasonable price to customers online.
Creating made-to-measure shirts has been a signature of Mashburn since he opened his first store in Atlanta in 2007, but now he has created a site where customers can either do a self-fitting at home, using a How to Measure video and entering their own measurements, or schedule a one-on-one virtual appointment with a Mashburn associate over Skype or FaceTime.
Mashburn knows that there are a lot of options when it comes to online made-to-measure shirtmaking, but he believes he is solving a problem by “democratizing the idea of custom,” he said. “Our customer doesn’t have time to shop, and convenience is what they want, so we’re giving you service any time you want it.”
He believes what sets his service apart is his own “point of view. We’re offering a very edited selection so it’s not confusing to the guy.”

Sweat the Style’s Adrianne Ho Launching Athletic-Inspired Line with PacSun

PACSUN’S NEW WORKOUT: Rather than unveil her new athletic-inspired streetwear line for PacSun with a fashion presentation, Adrianne Ho put editors through the paces Wednesday morning, during a rooftop workout at the Refinery Hotel.
The model, avid exerciser and fitness blogger already has a built-in fan base, thanks to her own brand and Web site, Sweat the Style. Ho has been plugging the Aug. 21 launch of the Sweat Crew by Adrianne Ho on her site and to her 368,000 Instagram followers. Images of her pre- and post-workout style can be found online in abundance, but Ho prefers not to refer to it as “ath-leisure,” according to a PacSun spokeswoman. Ho’s goal is to fuse technical performance elements with a high fashion sensibility so that the collection draws inspiration from edgy street style and vintage athletics, she explained via e-mail.
Before she started posting detailed tips about specific exercises, anti-inflammatory tips and healthy foods on her Sweat The Style site, Ho decided to get more serious about her own physical fitness and wellness when her modeling career first took off. Her portfolio includes beauty campaigns for Maybelline, L’Oréal, and MAC Cosmetics, as well as work for Nike, Stussy and Levi’s among others. For

Cupcakes and Cashmere Blogger Emily Schuman Is Launching a Clothing Line

Emily Schuman, the creator and life-envy-inducing blogger behind Cupcakes and Cashmere, has officially thrown her hat into the fashion designer ring.

07-culottes-cupcakes-cashmere

She revealed today in a blog post on her site that she’s launching a 40-piece collection on July 6, which will debut exclusively at Nordstrom and ShopBop. As Schuman writes, the West Coast serves as a major point of inspiration for the collection:

“Over the past 18 months, we’ve been working on our biggest project to date, one that reflects the true soul of the site and shows the evolution of the brand. On July 6, we’re launching a Cupcakes and Cashmere clothing line, selling exclusively at Nordstrom and ShopBop. The inspiration behind the fall 2015 line is centered around three thematic locations: Los Angeles (edgy, urban), San Francisco (preppy, polished), and Malibu (relaxed, trendy). We developed a line that can be mixed and matched with anything in your closet, focused on quality tailoring and materials, while hitting an affordable price point. It turned out better than I ever imagined.”

Schuman isn’t the first fashion blogger to jump on the design train—she’s following in the footsteps of folks like Rumi Neely and Elin Kling, both of whom started independent luxury basics lines (not to be confused with collaborations) within the last two years. If the images on Schuman’s site are any indication, this line will address the wants and needs of her passionate fan base—scalloped-hem shirts and skirts, leather jackets, chambray tops—quite handily.

While a full look book has yet to be released, you can head over to Cupcakes and Cashmere to get a sneak peek at what’s to come.

Fancy yourself a big Cupcakes and Cashmere fan? Check out Schuman’s gorgeous home and her jewelry collection.

Scosha Launching Children’s Accessories

MINI ME: Brooklyn jewelry label Scosha is branching out with a new line of children’s accessories called Little Scosha. The label’s founder and designer Scosha Woolridge conceptualized the idea after becoming inspired by her two children. The miniature jewelry range takes design cues from Woolridge’s adult line, and is comprised of precious metal cuffs and diminutive friendship-type strand bracelets, strung with tiny charms for an additional fee.
“You can’t help but become inspired by your children and want to decorate them in colorful things. My son was always putting things on his wrists probably trying to copy me, and since our classic braided bracelets are adjustable I put one on him every so often,” Woolridge said of the concept.
Bracelets in the ‘Little’ line will begin at $ 24, and charms will run at between $ 20 and $ 40 each. Woolridge has also created a miniature version of her precious metal cuffs, with a sterling silver version retailing for $ 130 and a ten-karat gold iteration for $ 990. The design is adjustable, and fits children from birth up to 14 years old.
All designs will be available for purchase this May at Scosha’s Williamsburg, Brooklyn store.

Blaak Launching Jeans With Lapis Lazuli

CRYSTAL CLEAR: British fashion label Blaak is getting into the science of healing denim — launching jeans with crystals attached to the interior of the waistband. It starts with lapis lazuli. “Lapis lazuli makes you feel more grounded,” explained cofounder Aaron Sharif. And more mundanely, these stones don’t break in the washing machine, unlike crystals such as coral, he noted.
“We wanted to go back to the root of when we started Blaak,” explained Sharif, who cofounded the label in 1988 with Sachiko Okada. Initially a denim label, the brand changed its offer to ready-to-wear, presenting during London Fashion Week between 2001 and 2004 and in Paris between 2004 and 2011. “We stopped rtw in 2012 and started researching the stones’ technique.”
While the company is based in London, the jeans are developed in Switzerland, woven in Japan and made in Portugal.
There is one style for men in three colors — indigo, black denim and overdyed black denim — retailing for 250 British pounds, or $ 371 at current exchange (and 225 British pounds, or $ 324 for the version without stones.)
Blaak denim is to be sold on the label’s Web site at the end May — coinciding with its relaunch with an e-commerce
