Inspiration: The luxury label found the inspiration for its new collection in the elegance of the Fifties. Calling the lineup “Gentleman at Ease,” Cucinelli offered a relaxed take on classic tailoring. The brand, which this season enlarged its booth at Pitti Uomo, returned the focus to its wide offering of suits, which ranged from effortless-chic styles targeting the new generation of men to evening options. In keeping with this renewed attention on suits, Cucinelli recently introduced in key stores a made-to-measure program that enables shoppers to create customized tailoring styles while experiencing the brand’s Italian lifestyle in dedicated areas offering high-end facilities and services.
Key Styles: In the suiting range, while jackets were cut close to the body, Fifties-inspired high-waisted pants with double pleats were among a selection of wider, comfortable silhouettes. Fabrics spanned from traditional wools and cashmeres to flannels, corduroy and velvet. Knitwear took center stage with cozy crewneck and V-neck sweaters, sometimes embellished with sporty-chic tennis details that showed rich melange effects. Ban.do, Starbucks Limited-Edition Offering to Come Stateside, Canada

ONE MORE TIME NOW: Steam behind Starbucks’ collaboration with Los Angeles brand Ban.do continues, with the two bringing a limited-edition collaboration Stateside for the first time.
Ban.do’s capsules for Starbucks have, to date, only been released to the coffee chain’s Asia-Pacific market locations. They’ve served as a key part of a broader strategy from Los Angeles-based Ban.do — known for its bright and quirky prints on organizers and accessories — to grow in the global markets.
The latest rollout brings the brand home with the launch at Starbucks’ U.S. and Canadian doors on Sept. 5. It will also include distribution in some of the coffeehouse’s locations within Target, grocery stores, airports and hotels. The collection consists of a ceramic mug, tumblers for cold and warm drinks, notebooks and pouches in two prints: a dark floral exclusive to Target and a print of whimsical drawings of rain boots, pumpkin-spiced lattes and sweaters.

OVS Taps Massimo Piombo to Refresh Its Men’s Offering

Massimo Piombo is the new artistic director of Italian retailer OVS’ men’s line.
During a press conference held Thursday in Milan to present the capsule realized by the company in collaboration with Kendall and Kylie Jenner, OVS chief executive officer Stefano Beraldo said the designer will overlook the development of the retailer’s men’s wear offering, which will be enlarged with the creation of a still-unnamed “upper casual” line featuring retail prices 30 percent higher than regular products.
The collaboration with Piombo will start with the fall 2019 season.
The same strategy aimed at dressing customers looking for more design-oriented and high-quality products will be extended to the women’s division, which will continue to be guided by OVS fashion director Caterina Salvador.
The new labels will be sold in dedicated areas inside OVS stores and online.

Oak Ridge Boys Team With Hart Schaffner Marx on New Suit Offering

The Oak Ridge Boys are doing their part to promote American-made manufacturing and have tapped Hart Schaffner Marx to create a new line of suits under their American Made Collection moniker.
The country music group joined Liberty Legends USA, a program created in 2015 by American businesses to promote products created in the U.S. The program started with the Gatlin Brothers USA Collection of Western jackets and dress jeans made by The Sewell Cos.
Both lines are available on the Mill Town Mercantile web site. Mill Town Mercantile is the fulfillment arm of the Mill Town Music Hall, West Georgia’s largest concert and entertainment venue that opened in 2012 in Bremen, Ga.
The American Made Collection consists of two fits: the Chicago cut, a traditional two-button silhouette in worsted wool with flat or pleated pants, and the trimmer New York cut, a trimmer two-button silhouette. Both retail for $ 795 and made-to-measure is also offered as an option for both suits and sport coats. American Made was the title of one of the group’s biggest hits from 1983 and the members are nearly always seen dressed in suits.

Tommy John Expands Underwear Offering

Tommy John is introducing its fifth underwear line.
The men’s innerwear brand, which was founded by Tom Patterson, is releasing its Go Anywhere collection, which is made from moisture-wicking, anti-microbial fabrics with four-way stretch. The underwear includes Tommy John’s signature features including the Quick Draw Horizontal Fly, the Stay-Put Waist Band and the No-Wedgie Guarantee.
“Guys are more active than they’ve ever been before, and the Go Anywhere collection is made from a fabric that can take them through the day,” Patterson said. “We’ve always focused on comfort first, soft fabrics that are smart and give a guy everyday performance.”
The line includes a jogger, a dress pant and a Henley along with a trunk and boxer brief. Tommy John first dabbled in apparel in 2015 with its ath-leisure collection. It also introduced Tommy John Labs, a platform the brand used to explore categories beyond underwear.
Tommy John is set to open its first store this October at the King of Prussia mall in Philadelphia, which Patterson said will provide its customer with a comfortable shopping experience they might not be accustomed to.

Nintendo Offering Cash Rewards to Improve 3DS Security

In an effort to improve the security of 3DS, Nintendo is paying hackers to provide information about vulnerabilities in its family of handheld systems.

Through HackerOne—a platform for coordinating and offering bounties for providing vulnerability and bug information—Nintendo is offering cash rewards that range between $ 100 to $ 20,000 USD for reports of 3DS vulnerabilities.

According to Nintendo’s HackerOne “Bug Bounty Program” page, the company is strictly interested in receiving information tied to 3DS, with the desire to prevent various activities, including piracy, cheating, and the “dissemination of inappropriate content to children.”

Tommy Bahama Using 37.5 Technology for New Product Offering

Tommy Bahama is introducing a new category of product for Father’s Day and has turned to Cocona 37.5 Technology to power it.
The technology uses active particles to capture and release moisture vapor to maintain optimum temperature and relative humidity in the body. This results in better maintaining an ideal core temperature while increasing comfort and enhancing performance.
Up until now, the vast majority of the products that have used 37.5 technology have been activewear or outerwear brands. But Tommy Bahama has created a yarn that blends silk and 37.5 and will introduce it in its camp shirts.
Bradley O’Brien, executive vice president of design and product development for the Seattle-based manufacturer, said Island Zone was “largely driven by 37.5. We believe that adding technology in our iconic products is a whole new way to get someone to buy something new.”
While the concept will launch with camp shirts, Tommy Bahama will offer Island Zone polos for holiday and shorts, which will blend 37.5 yarns with cotton, for spring 2017.
“We’re building a whole lifestyle of product around it,” she said.

AIG Offering Insurance for Couture Collectors

WEATHERING THE STORM: AIG is targeting couture’s big spenders with help from Garde Robe, a museum-quality garment storage service for high-end clients. Garde Robe’s Doug Greenberg conceived of the need for a niche insurance policy after sitting next to a client at a party whose Long Island home — and couture collection — was flooded during Hurricane Sandy. Afterward, the client discovered that her homeowners insurance didn’t cover her bespoke wardrobe — a common assumption. Greenberg approached several underwriters with his idea and found a match through AIG Private Client Group. Newly launched and modeled after similar polices for art collectors, AIG is currently the only insurance carrier to offer protection for valuable textiles damaged by flood, mold, moths and errant dry-cleaning. While Greenberg has been educating his clients about the need to insure their collections, he noted that the service has yet to pick up steam. Here are a few couture fans who might be interested.

P.J. Salvage on Track to Launch Intimates, Boost Kids’ Offering

Lounge and sleepwear brand P.J. Salvage is set to launch intimates and is also preparing for a re-set of its kids’ offering under new parent Delta Galil Industries Ltd.
P.J. Salvage’s parent, Loomworks Apparel, was acquired for an undisclosed sum by the Tel Aviv-based firm in a deal revealed this month. The transaction is expected to close Friday.
Nothing changes operationally as a result of the deal and P.J. Salvage headquarters will remain in Irvine, Calif., P.J. Salvage chief executive officer Peter Burke said.
“The whole acquisition by Delta certainly opens up a whole new world for us as far as worldwide distribution and production,” Burke said.
The company thinks there’s room in the market for its assortment of bralettes, bandeaux, thongs, hipsters, shorts and kimonos — some of which can be mixed and matched with casual day looks.
“P.J. Salvage has a really strong brand following worldwide and the time is right for us to launch intimates,” Burke said. “We’re not trying to compete against a lot of the other brands putting out a basic lace, thong and panty.”
The collection includes roughly 30 stockkeeping units priced at retail, come February, between $ 18 and $ 70.

EARNING THEIR STRIPES: Solid & Striped is expanding its team. Founder Isaac Ross has hired Michelle Copelman, who spent six years as a designer for J. Crew and Crewcuts, as design director, a new position at the growing brand. Copelman will oversee the men’s and women’s divisions of Solid & Striped’s design department and plans to help expand its product assortment and categories.
“Michelle has such a strong point of view and a great taste level,” Ross told WWD of the appointment. “And equally important is for a designer to know how to design into a brand that already exists — how to take it a step further, how to elevate us and push us in the right direction, but also how to respect the customer base that we need to remain very aware of and cater to.”

Terry Richardson Accused Of Offering Photo Shoot For Sex

Terry Richardson is yet again being accused of sexual harassment.

Model Emma Appleton tweeted a picture on Sunday of what appeared to be a text message from Richardson offering a Vogue photo shoot “if i can fuck you.”

She later deleted the tweet, but told BuzzFeed that she stands by her claim. Appleton said that the message came from Terry Richardson’s Facebook account.

Richardson’s reps denied the incident, telling BuzzFeed that, “This is obviously a fake. Terry did not send this text.”

A spokesperson for Vogue told BuzzFeed that “we have no plans to work with him in the future.”

Richardson has been accused of sexual assault and harassment a multitude of times.

Former model Charlotte Waters told Vocativ that he groped her and exposed himself during a photoshoot. Model Jamie Peck claimed that he demanded that she touch his penis. Jezebel assembled a laundry list of accusations against Richardson here.

Richardson has repeatedly denied these claims.
