Hollywood Stylist Anita Patrickson’s Amanu Sandal Brand Sets Hotel Partnership

Hollywood stylist Anita Patrickson has aligned with Singita luxury lodges to bring her made-to-order Amanu sandals to resorts in South Africa. It’s the first move into the hospitality sector for the brand, and a full circle moment for Patrickson, who originally hails from Capetown.
She parlayed her work as a fashion stylist for Julianne Hough, Portia de Rossi and others into a custom shoe business that launched last year in L.A., inspired both by traditional sandals made using tire rubber in Africa, and the tradition of resort sandal making on the island of Capri.
Now she’s bringing the eco-conscious, high-touch experience  customers get in her West Hollywood flagship to guests at Singita. In June, Patrickson traveled to South Africa with one of the U.S. makers to train the staff at Singita Ebony Lodge and Lemombo Lodge to cobble the shoes, priced $ 160 to $ 275, from an array of leathers, with pony hair and feather trim, in under an hour.

LuisaViaRoma Inks Partnership With Secoo

Luxury e-commerce platforms LuisaViaRoma and Secoo have signed a partnership, in the latest move to corner the booming market for Chinese high-end online shoppers.
Under the agreement, scheduled to come into effect mid-June, Secoo will build out a stronger portfolio of brands, leveraging the 500 luxury and fashion brands in the Florence-based retailer’s network. In turn, Secoo will support LuisaViaRoma with its expertise in areas including mobile payment, order tracking and logistics.
“With Secoo’s 27 million high-end consumers, the cooperation is a win-win strategy for both companies to capture emerging online opportunities in China and augment values to Chinese consumers,” said Federica Marchionni, Secoo’s international chief executive officer. “While LuisaViaRoma will enhance its brand awareness in China, Secoo will strengthen its luxury brand connection.”
The Chinese luxury platform, which sells everything from high-end watches to fashion to cars, recorded significant growth in 2018, with its topline leaping 52.9 percent from the year before, a reflection of the still fast-growing broader market. McKinsey’s latest forecast expects China to account for 40 percent of the world’s luxury spending by 2025.

Lane Crawford Signs Strategic Partnership With Labelhood

LONDON — Labelhood, a Shanghai-based emerging designer support platform, community and fashion retailer, has entered into a strategic partnership deal with Lane Crawford for the Greater China region.
Labelhood will open pop-up corners in Lane Crawford’s stores in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu, with the focus on Chinese emerging talents from the fall 2019 season.
The partnership also includes a three-season scholarship supporting the most promising Chinese designers. The retailer will support the winner’s showcase in Labelhood during Shanghai Fashion Week with a cash prize of 100,000 renminbi, or $ 14,867 each season.
The first recipient of the inaugural scholarship is the New York-based Chinese designer Caroline Hu. Educated at Central Saint Martins and Parsons School of Design, Hu was nominated as a finalist in the 2019 edition on LVMH Prize last month.
“I am truly grateful for the support from Labelhood and Lane Crawford,” said Hu. “The scholarship is a very big encouragement for independent designers like me, and it will play a positive role in promoting the growth of independent designers in China.”

Converse Extends Partnership With Vince Staples

Vince Staples wanted to do something different.
Although he’s known for wearing Chuck Taylors, the 25-year-old artist from Long Beach, Calif., wanted to update a lesser-known silhouette from the Converse archives: the Thunderbolt, a sneaker that pulls from the brand’s history with running sneakers, which dates back to the 1900s.
“You have the Chuck and the One Star and it was just time to work with a shoe that a lot of people aren’t designing for the brand,” said Staples. “Me being the kind of person I am, I wanted to see what I could do with another silhouette.”
Staples worked with Converse designer Brook Bergland and team on the collection. The sneaker, which comes in a cream and black colorway that Staples said originated from the demo sneaker and they decided to keep it. It retails for $ 110. He also worked on an apparel capsule that includes a varsity jacket, a sweatshirt and track pants — each covered with “Run.” The line retails from $ 350 to $ 90.

Eric Emanuel Expands Partnership With New Era

New Era is working with Eric Emanuel on its first licensed apparel collaboration in North America.
The designer, who started making custom jerseys and introduced his own line of shorts and jerseys in 2016, worked with New Era for the past few seasons on hats, but this capsule is the first time Emanuel has produced apparel with the company.
“Since the inception of my namesake brand, officially licensed apparel has always been on my mind,” Emanuel said. “A random e-mail was sent to me about New Era apparel being a thing and I couldn’t reply faster. A week later, New Era was in my factory and we started the conversation and here we are now.”
The unisex collection, which plays on neon, includes a hoodie, shorts and cap that features the team logos for the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Atlanta Braves. Communications executive Annika McVeigh has just joined Maison Alaïa as director of communications following a seven-year stint as director of communications at Celine, amid a flurry of exhibitions dedicated to Alaïa’s exacting, sculptural designs. That includes a soon-to-wrap retrospective at London’s Design Museum, which the designer, who died of heart failure, helped curate.
Maison Alaïa operates two brick-and-mortar flagships: a three-story boutique opened on Paris’ Rue de Marignan in 2013 and a store on London’s New Bond Street, whose ribbon was cut in April by longtime Alaïa friend and muse Naomi Campbell.
Net-A-Porter became the brand’s first online retail partner in 2017. The new digital flagship falls under YNAP’s Online Flagship Stores division, helmed by Francesca Tranquilli, through a five-year partnership.

Undefeated Forges Partnership With Esports

Esports is tapping into streetwear.
The gaming league has teamed with Undefeated, a sneaker and streetwear retailer based in Los Angeles, to create a jersey for the New York Excelsior, which is New York City’s first professional eSports franchise. It is one of the 12 founding franchises of Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch League, which is owned by Sterling.VC, a venture capital fund supported by Sterling Equities.
“Excelsior wanted to create a unique approach to team apparel,” said Collette Gangemi, the head of merchandise and consumer products for the New York Excelsior. “Most eSports apparel is semi-juvenile. I was brought on to take more of a streetwear collaboration approach. When you are starting a league in New York and trying to build a community, having apparel that people can buy into helps that.”
Undefeated has worked with EA Sports on an NBA Live 18 event, but this is its first time partnering with eSports. James Bond, the cofounder of Undefeated, sees overlap in the streetwear and gaming communities.

Première Vision Announces Partnership With Chambre Syndicale

MUTUAL SUPPORT: With Paris Fashion Week around the corner, trade show organizer Première Vision on Wednesday revealed a partnership with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. The overall aim of the “mutual support agreement,” it said, is to reinforce Paris’ status as the capital of fashion.
Concretely, young designers who are showcased in a new space dedicated to young talent on the Chambre Syndicale’s web site, as well as in the Designer’s Apartment showroom during the city’s fashion weeks, will get access to the Première Vision shows and resources, as well as mentoring.
Meanwhile, Pascal Morand, the federation’s executive president, will act as a consultant to the fair on one of his specialty subjects: fashion tech. H&M Finds Success With The Weeknd Partnership

The Weeknd, whose birth name is Abel Tesfaye, is continuing his partnership with H&M.
For his first collection, which was released in March, Tesfaye selected items from H&M’s men’s collection. But for the new line he’s worked with the design team to create new pieces.
“Once again I’ve selected my favorite pieces from H&M’s collection, and because we’re moving into fall I’ve put the focus on sweats and hoodies. I was so happy with the first collection that I wanted to put my stamp on the pieces even more,” said Tesfaye. “We’ve been much more playful with the logos and graphics on many of the pieces, and I love the sense of identity that runs through the collection.”
The 18-piece line includes sweatshirts, jackets, hoodies, bomber jackets, varsity jackets and parkas covered in graphics, logos and messaging that’s related to the artist. The line is available now online and within stores.
“We worked very closely with him and one of his art directors who gave us a few ideas on prints and graphics,” said Andreas Lowenstam, head of men’s wear design at H&M. “But we wanted to separate this from his tour merchandise.”

New York Fashion Tech Lab Inks Accenture Deal for 2018 Partnership

New York Fashion Tech Lab has signed on Accenture as a partner for the 2018 program.
Springboard Enterprises founded NYFT Lab in 2013 with the support of retailers and fashion brands to help grow women-led emerging tech companies at the intersection of fashion, retail and technology. The company this year completed its fourth annual accelerator program. There’s some funding for the program from Springboard and the Partnership Fund for New York City, but most of the funding is from within the industry. That allows industry sponsors to learn about new tech ideas and work as mentors to further develop the ideas that they are most interested in.
Senior managing director at Accenture Jill Standish, who leads the company’s Retail Industry practice globally, said that with retailers and brands being disrupted by online “pure plays,” she sees Accenture’s role as partner with NYFT Lab to help the 2018 class participants more quickly accelerate their innovations to “better serve and connect consumers to the fashion industry.”

The California lifestyle company created limited-edition gift boxes that bundles shaving gel, a travel candle, bottle of wine and $ 50 Jenni Kayne gift card. The company’s now year-old boutique in the Stanford Shopping Center is less than a mile from the hotel.

Net-a-porter is teaming with Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld’s Good + Foundation for a summer of do-gooding.
The retailer and the organization, which was formerly known as Baby Buggy, will join together for “a series of initiatives, editorial features and events in support of the charity’s overarching mission to break the cycle of family poverty,” Net-a-porter said.

Nautica has extended its relationship with Lil Yachty.
The apparel brand will release a second collection for spring at Urban Outfitters, and Lil Yachty, along with his crew, The Sailing Team, will star in an ad campaign.

To commemorate the capsule collection, Lil Yachty will make an appearance at the Urban Outfitters on Ponce De Leon Avenue in Atlanta, his hometown.
Earlier this year Nautica named Lil Yachty a creative designer and the red-haired, bubblegum trap artist curated a limited-edition collection of pieces that were reminiscent of vintage Nautica. Long before he partnered with the brand officially, he wore vintage pieces from the line, which aligned perfectly with the boating and sailing messaging he’s built his identity around.
According to Nautica, the first collection was very successful and two out of the seven items sold out online the first day.

Tailored Brands Results Hurt by Failing Macy’s Partnership

The marriage between Macy’s and Tailored Brands is on the rocks.
At the same time that it reported sales declines for fiscal 2016 and warned of another tough year ahead, Tailored Brands revealed that its tuxedo rental initiative at Macy’s Inc. has failed to perform up to expectations.
Wall Street was quick to punish the company, pushing its stock down $ 7.53, or 32 percent, Thursday to close at $ 15.84 on the New York Stock Exchange.
In mid-2015, the men’s wear retailer inked a deal with Macy’s to open tuxedo rental shops inside 300 stores. By the end of 2016, Tailored Brands had opened 170 shops.
However, during a conference call with analysts, Douglas Ewert, chief executive officer of Tailored Brands, said: “The results we’ve seen thus far have been disappointing. We anticipated start-up losses of $ 10 million during 2016, which grew to $ 14 million, due in part to most of our stores missing the bulk of the wedding season.
“Based on last year’s results and the early reads on 2017, we now believe that the tux rental opportunity with Macy’s is not likely to be as big as we initially thought. We’re in conversations with Macy’s at the highest levels to look at creating a

Tracy McMillan, Relationship Expert, On The Key To Finding Your Spiritual Partnership (VIDEO)

Relationship expert Tracy McMillan, author of the blog “Why You’re Not Married,” uses a simple two-word prayer to help her make decisions in life. In the above clip from her appearance on “Super Soul Sunday,” she shares how it also helps her to let go of the people who aren’t meant to be in her life.

“Prayer is a big part of my spiritual practice and my prayers are very simple,” McMillan says. “It will be a prayer like this: Show me. Show me what you want me to do. Use me.

“Whenever I’m at a decision point in my life, it’ll be like I’m just going to open my hand and if it’s supposed to go away or if the wind is supposed to come along and blow whatever it is off my hand, let it go.”

McMillan takes the same approach to her relationships. She says that if you’re truthful with a partner about what you want and that causes them to leave, let them go. “It’s because they’re not for you,” she says. “You want them to go away sooner rather than later.”

“Absolutely,” Oprah agrees. “So many people are afraid that if I actually just tell the truth, then I’ll be alone and I won’t find anybody else. And this was my one chance.”

Tracy says the opposite will happen. “In fact, unless you tell the truth, you won’t find that spiritual partnership. Because the spiritual partnership is based on the truth.”
