PUBG Xbox One Patch Offers “Slightly” Better Frame Rate

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is receiving a new patch for its Xbox Game Preview version, offering what developer Bluehole calls “incremental” improvements, including to the frame rate.

The PUBG Development and Community Team posted the announcement along with other patch notes on the PUBG Forums.

Frame rates on both client and server sides have been increased slightly, and some VFX have received slight optimizations. A number of crash-inducing issues have also been addressed, as well as a UI issue that occurred when multiple players attempted to loot from the same object.

Microsoft Accused of Copying Fan’s PUBG Artwork, Pulls Advert

Microsoft has pulled down a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds advert from its social media channels, after the creator of a fan concept complained about striking similarities to their work.

Reddit user Macsterr had created a concept advert for the Xbox One version of PUBG that garnered tens of thousands of views – then noticed that Microsoft’s social channels had posted an advert with near-identical ideas. You can see both in the gallery below:

Seeing no credit offered, Macsterr pointed out the similarities on Reddit, which caught the attention of Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb a day later.

PUBG: New Map Hidden in Latest Patch

The latest test patch for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has revealed the layout of the game’s upcoming desert map.

Pushed to the test servers last night, it didn’t take long for users on the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds subreddit to sort through the new files and make some discoveries. One Reddit user managed to extract the minimap from the forthcoming wasteland map:

PUBG Gets New Gun, New Town, Fog And More

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ September patch is coming to test servers today, bringing foggy weather, a new town, a new semi-automatic rifle and more details on the upcoming vaulting feature.

In a post on the PUBG Steam page, players have been given a look at a host of new features, bug fixes and soon-to-be-added features. Coming immediately to test servers will be the introduction of foggy weather to lower visibility. Don’t start sweating just yet though, as this will be a, “low probability,” weather effect in the live game (it was noted however that this will occur more frequently on the test servers).
