Amy Schumer Shares Ultrasound Video of Her Baby: ‘It Has So Much Energy — That’s Why I’m Puking’

Say hello to Amy Schumer‘s baby on the way!

The pregnant actress and comedian, 37, shared an ultrasound video on Instagram Monday, over two weeks after her appointment as the footage was dated Oct. 16.

“It’s moving all around! Oh my God, oh my God, see it has so much energy — that’s why I’m puking every day,” Schumer said as she excitedly watched the screen, which showed her child’s arms and legs in motion.

Much like her Oct. 22 pregnancy announcement, the video had a secondary purpose as Schumer urged fans and followers to vote in the Nov. 6 midterm elections.

“Happy Election Eve!” the mother-to-be, who is married to chef Chris Fischer, captioned her ultrasound footage. “You can look up your polling place + hours by texting LOCATION to 21333 And you can look up a sample ballot to be prepared at vote411.org/ballot Make a plan to #vote and let’s make history tomorrow!”

In addition to recently showing off her baby bump for the first time on Instagram, Schumer has continued to update her fans about her pregnancy.

On Friday, the I Feel Pretty star discussed being in her second trimester while performing stand up in Las Vegas. “I don’t like it,” she said, later adding, “I’ve had a really tough pregnancy so far.”

Joking that she has “a half a year” left of pregnancy, Schumer also said everyone is a “psychic” when it comes to the sex of her baby. “It’s a 50/50 shot. It’s better odds than in Vegas. I don’t know what it’s going to be. I think it’s going to be a baby,” she said.

Schumer’s sister Kim Caramele recently joked about her sibling and brother-in-law becoming first-time parents.

“They are going to be UNBEARABLE parents,” Caramele captioned a photo of Schumer and Fischer taking pictures of their dog Tatiana dressed in a lamb costume for Halloween.

Amy Schumer Thanks Ex Ben Hanisch for New Patio Furniture — In a Burger Onesie!

Amy Schumer and Ben Hanisch may have split, but there’s no bad blood between these exes.

The 36-year-old actress shared an Instagram photo of herself on an outdoor patio featuring a picnic table with swings for seats.

“Thank you @benhanisch @frehr we are loving it @lastworkshop,” she captioned the photo, posted Tuesday, and tagging her ex-boyfriend, a Chicago-based furniture designer, and two furniture companies.

Fans also took note of Schumer’s hilarious attire: a white onesie adorned with images of cheeseburgers, perfectly matching her pup’s hot dog costume.

The former couple announced their breakup in May. “Amy and Ben have ended their relationship after thoughtful consideration and remain friends,” a rep for Schumer told PEOPLE.

The couple was together for nearly a year and a half, though the two were last photographed together in January and had been appearing less frequently on each other’s social media.

The comedian and Hanisch met on a dating app around November 2015. They went public with their then-budding relationship in January 2016, when Schumer called Hanisch her “man” after a visit to the White House.

“ is the first guy who’s really been my boyfriend,” she told Marie Claire in August.

Schumer recounted their first meeting in her book, The Girl with The Lower Back Tattoo. “We smiled at each other and in that moment, everything felt right,” she wrote.

“Things were just really easy with him,” Schumer told PEOPLE about their romance that summer. “There were no games, no waiting three days. It was clear and easy. He was so sweet. He didn’t know who I was. He’d heard my name.”

Still, Schumer said she was cautious about getting ahead of herself. “I want to be hopeful in love and commitment as possible,” she told PEOPLE, adding, “ I come from parents who have each been married three times.”

As for her views on marriage, she said, “I can’t lie about it. I don’t have this blind optimism.”

Amy Schumer Says It’s Other People Who Need To Accept Her Body, Not Her

It seems like everyone has way too much to say about Amy Schumer’s body ― except, refreshingly, Schumer herself.

Perhaps that’s why the topics of body image and self-love took up much of the “Snatched” star’s recent interview with Refinery29. With her trademark confidence, Schumer addressed her recent InStyle swimsuit cover and the controversy that arose when a swimsuit designer suggested Schumer shouldn’t wear a bathing suit.

“I’m not like rolling around in bed going ‘Yaaas,’ but I think I can feel great,” Schumer said. “I can be feeling myself! Like I shot that InStyle cover and I was really feeling myself that day. I think that sort of acceptance… when I see myself in this movie, in a bathing suit, I’m fine. There’s nothing for me to get over. This is my body. This is my face. This is it. I don’t strive for this other version.

“I want to be healthy,” she continued, “and my weight fluctuates and whatever, but… I feel like other people need to work on accepting my body. Or not! People need time to decide how they feel about my body. I don’t think about my body. I want to be healthy.”

Schumer concedes that she feels “really lucky” for her deep-rooted self-confidence and feels bad for young women “growing up with all this social media and stuff.” But we could all learn a thing or two from Schumer’s relationship with her own body, and our relationships with other people’s bodies ― in that those latter relationships need not exist.

Head to Refinery29 to read the entire interview.

Mama Said There’d Be Days Like This: Schumer Cooks Up Trump 100-Day Playlist

If you can’t beat him, just sing along.

That could be the philosophy of Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — for now.  The Senate minority leader — who recently told HuffPost that he’s still open to working with a president who lacks competence — has come up with a Spotify playlist to mark the early part of the reign of Donald Trump. It’s a little bit lighthearted tongue-in-cheek (check out Trump in the “Saturday Night Live” parody video of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” above), a little bit angry, and lots of frustrated.

“Music has meant so much these #Trump100days,” Schumer tweeted Saturday, taking a tune-filled break from relentless Twitter attacks on Trump policies. “Shirelles, @springsteen & more here’s my @Spotify #100days playlist.”

Unfortunately, there’s not a song for each day. But Schumer has come up with 32 of them, with several titles and lyrics lamenting bitter realizations, disappointing people and lies, such as B.B. King’s “Fool Me Once” and The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

Some of the picks zing particular Trump issues — or personality traits, like “He’s Mista Know-It-All” by Stevie Wonder, “I Want It Now” sung by Esperanza Spalding, and Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend,” an apparent dig at the president’s several weekends off playing golf at Mar-a-Lago.

A common theme involves “alternative facts,” such as “Lyin’ Eyes” by The Eagles, “Lies” by the Thompson Twins (”Lies, lies, lies, yeah”), and “Beautiful Liar” by Beyonce and Shakira.

But there are also a couple about optimism for a better future, such as Bruce Springsteen’s “Land of Hope and Dreams” (”Big wheels rolling through fields where sunlight streams; meet me in a land of hope and dreams”).

And Bob Marley croons in “Three Little Birds”on Schumer’s playlist: “Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cause every little thing gonna be all right.”

Jennifer Lawrence Gets Real About Her Friendship With Amy Schumer In Vanity Fair

Despite already winning an Oscar, appearing in 20 movies by 26 and now earning $ 20 million per picture, Jennifer Lawrence shows no signs of stopping or slowing down for a second.

“I don’t like waking up with nothing to do or going to sleep without accomplishing anything,” the actress said in a revealing new interview with Vanity Fair. “That really depresses me.”

As the December cover star for the magazine, Lawrence opens up about what she would be doing if not for acting and the portrait she has of her dog (we’re with you, Jen). She also spoke about where her friendship with Amy Schumer stands and why she’s occasionally mean to fans (and Chris Pratt, but only in the mornings!).

If Lawrence didn’t make it big in Hollywood, she may have been doing something totally different.

In a short video for the magazine, the “Passengers” star joked that she didn’t have a contingency plan if she didn’t make it in Hollywood, confessing instead she would probably be “laying in a ditch” or “stripping.”

She has painting of her dog that her mom commissioned from a 14-year-old fan in New Zealand.

“Fuck it. I am the person who has an acrylic painting of her dog,” Lawrence told VF.  “I am a psychotic dog mom in a way that I am genuinely embarrassed about. If I could put her inside me and give birth to her I would.” She only worries about having kids because they “would be incredibly jealous because I would still be way more attentive to Pippi than I would to them.”

Yes, she’s still friends with Amy Schumer, despite the rumors

Lawrence ― who said she only lies when asked about “liking someone’s work”― got honest about her friendship with Schumer. Yes, she’s still shooting the movie she wrote with Schumer and yes, the two are still friends.

“My brother asked me the other day, ‘Everybody online thinks you and Amy [Schumer] aren’t friends anymore,’” the actress said. “And I said, ‘Oh, really, because everything online is always true.’”

JLaw has no tolerance for fans that invade her privacy.

“You might think you know me, but when you approach me you’re a total stranger to me and I’m scared.” Lawrence said, adding that she gets “very protective of my space. It took me a long time to be able to do that.”

And word to the wise ― if you happen to be at a restaurant sitting next to the actress, don’t take a photo without asking unless you’re ready to be called out (and rightfully so!)

“If I’m eating dinner and somebody comes up and a flash goes off from someone’s iPhone camera, I am really rude to that person. Then other people at the restaurant will see and be like, ‘Oh, damn, I don’t want to do that.’ Privacy is a full-time job and I work very hard at it,” she added.

She loves Chris Pratt, but not during early call times.

“He is a ray of sunshine,” Lawrence said. “We had to have a talk about his good moods at four in the morning, when he was encouraging the crew and I’m like the Grinch. I came on set like, ‘No more smiling. No more dancing.’”

Pratt, for the record, doesn’t disagree with Lawrence’s assessment and told Vanity Fair, “Jen is really in to her emotions,” adding “If she’s mad, she’ll let you know.”

Jennifer Lawrence Plays The ‘Trainwreck’ In Her Upcoming Comedy With Amy Schumer

After seeing this summer’s “Trainwreck,” Jennifer Lawrence knew that she and Schumer were meant to be friends forever. So she sent off a quick email, one thing led to another, and now they’re writing a movie together. But this time, Amy Schumer is the normal one.

Lawrence revealed some more details about the plot of the film — in which she and the comedian play sisters – to Entertainment Tonight, confirming the script is ”dirty” and “real.”

“Amy, in this movie, she has it very together,” Lawrence said. “It’s her lifelong dream to be a flight attendant. She works at the airport. And I’m a mess.

The project came together so quickly, the Oscar winner explained, because both women feel comfortable sharing their blunt, honest opinions with each other. “We both have very similar senses of humor, obviously, and aren’t afraid,” she said. “Which is a good and bad thing, because I don’t know what our movie will be rated.”

Whatever the case, Lawrence put off any idea that she might involve any of her “Hunger Games” co-stars (and friends!) Liam Hemsworth or Josh Hutcherson in the project.

“No, no, no, no, no. There’s not really boys in it,” she said.

Bechdel test, check.

The 10 Stages of the Yom Kippur Fast, as Told by Amy Schumer

The Yom Kippur fast is a sneaky one. The Jewish people were smart and decided to ease us into it by celebrating Rosh Hashanah the week prior. It’s almost like they assumed the more food they could provide us with during that holiday, the less painful the lurking fast would be 10 days later.

Turns out it’s not really less painful, because, like the hangover you’re enduring in your 10 am lecture Friday morning after a Thursday night out, we all knew this was coming. How is it that just 10 days ago we were all blissfully enjoying endless amounts of challah, consuming more jars of honey than a drunk Winnie the Pooh and now we’re fasting for 25 hours?

Yes 25 hours — not 24, because the Jewish people weren’t satisfied with the limits of a “normal” day, and thus, the extra hour of “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” nonsense resulted in a 25 hour fast. Talk about going above and beyond.

If you’re looking for someone who feels your pain, I’m sure you have several friends enduring the same gnawing hunger inside of their abandoned abdomens. However, if you need a greater sense of communal misery beyond your usual circle during this hangry time, we turn to the only woman who can provide a voice of sanity and reason in crises like these: Amy Schumer.

Stage One: Extreme Confidence

2015-09-21-1442868804-4631440-amy1.gif
GIF Courtesy of giphy.com

This is gonna be a freakin’ breeze. You’ve juice cleansed, cabbage dieted and gone an entire day eating only, like, one Chipotle burrito and four pretzels once, so you’re basically a pro. It’s hour one and with g-d’s blessing and your insane willpower, you are feeeeeeelin’ it.

Stage Two: Lying to Yourself

2015-09-21-1442868863-9408623-amy2.gif
GIF Courtesy of giphy.com

You’re totally fine. Like, seriously, totally fine. You’re not even hungry. Actually, you’re full. You definitely woke up this morning and had breakfast and not just gulps of air. You’re totally okay, you’re more than okay — you are absolutely great.

Stage Three: Irritability

2015-09-21-1442868902-4989942-amy3.gif
GIF Courtesy of giphy.com

You’ve been sitting in services listening to the rabbi drone on in a language you still haven’t mastered despite 13+ years of Hebrew school and being bar mitzvah’d. You thought perhaps ~prayer would save you~, but the food that should be satiating your craving is instead being replaced by the annoyance filling you up inside.

Stage Four: Exhaustion
2015-09-21-1442868945-9700882-amyfloor.gif
GIF Courtesy of giphy.com

You’ve stuck it out at synagogue for as long as humanly possible, and you’re finally headed home to LAY. You have no food, no energy and nothing keeping you alive at this point. You feel like a limp noodle. OMG noodles. The couch looks inviting. Ugh, but your bed is also your bed. Honestly, at this point, the floor will do just fine.

Stage Five: Hysteria
2015-09-21-1442869048-4287714-amyhysteria.gif

LOL THIS IS SO FUNNY IM SO HUNGRY AND LITERALLY CANNOT FEEL THE LIMBS OF MY BODY OR ANY PART OF MY FACE JUST LIKE THE WEEKEND SAID! LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA WHAT. YES, MY COFFEE TABLE IS DEFINITELY EDIBLE. MMMM THE TASTE OF MAHOGANY.

Amy Schumer Hints She Will Push To Reduce Gun Violence

Comedian Amy Schumer suggested she is preparing to make a push against gun violence on Saturday, after a gunman killed two women and injured nine people during a showing of her latest movie in Lafayette, Louisiana last month.

Sarah Clements, whose mother survived the mass shooting at Sandy Hook elementary school in 2012, published a post on Medium calling on Schumer to speak out in the aftermath of the Lafayette shooting, which took place during a screening of “Trainwreck,” Schumer’s latest movie. In her reply on Twitter, Schumer referenced the victims and said she was preparing to do something:

21-year-old Mayci Breaux and 33-year-old Jillian Johnson were killed and nine others were injured July 23 by John Russell Houser, 59, who also killed himself during the incident.

Clements called Schumer “our generation’s epitome of what it means to be a strong, powerful, self-aware champion for the experiences and truths of being a woman,” and highlighted the particular challenges women face in pushing for gun control.

“The hatred and trolling of women fighting for gun reform is specifically twisted to become gendered threats and attacks. They reference rape, ‘setting us in our place,’ obeying men and shutting us up, and overall they simply exemplify the worst of a patriarchy obsessed with the symbol and purpose of guns,” she wrote on Medium. Clements also noted that women in the United States are much more likely to be killed by a person with a gun than are women in other high income countries and that women of color are disproportionately affected by gun violence.

After the shooting, Schumer tweeted that her heart was broken and her thoughts were with the victims of the attack. Earlier this year, she released a mock advertisement for birth control, advertising how difficult it was to obtain for women while guns remained relatively easy to get.

But Clements said that she knew Schumer could do more.

“Be a voice for our generation and for women — two groups who make up most of the victims of the gun violence in our country,” Clements wrote. “As you said and as I’ve learned, what truly matters in life is how you decide to write your own story. And in doing so, don’t apologize to the frightened millions who resent that they never had it in them to do it. Instead, show them it can be done.”

Why GQ’s Amy Schumer Cover Is A Little Disappointing

This week we saw America’s newest comedy darling, Amy Schumer, gracing the cover of the August comedy issue of GQ magazine in a curious pose.

Clad in the sultry Princess Leia getup that spawned a thousand Halloween costumes for nerds, a dolled-up Schumer sucks on a long, rock-hard finger belonging to the skittish space robot C-3PO. If you’re familiar with her boundary-breaking oeuvre, however, it’s a little surprising — maybe even disappointing — to see her embody this barely-dressed-woman-implying-fellatio trope.

Schumer’s much-loved work in her Comedy Central show has often riffed on expectations of women in the media. She’s even specifically joked about men’s magazines’ predictably carnal undertones — her “Trainwreck” character writes for a men’s magazine spoof. She “knew it would be a fun place to satirize a little,” she told GQ in a May 2014 interview. So why the hackneyed pose now?

The magazine could have used another fantastic photo for the cover, preferably with Schumer’s own copy. Or this other shot that is such an absurdist take on the magazine’s usual tiptoeing around the idea of oral sex that we can’t help but give it an eye-rolling grin.

Then again, maybe this was Schumer’s idea of a fun cover? Or maybe it’s a dumb-girl joke that doesn’t quite hit its mark? In any case, for a woman known for her brilliant lampooning of beauty standards, we would have wanted GQ to let her humor shine through.

Because the magazine does have a weird history of making women do stuff with their mouths on its cover:

Amy Schumer: ‘Sex Is Just Explained Incorrectly To Us’

Amy Schumer tells it like it is.

In a CBS News profile on July 5, Schumer broke down the problem with the way young men and women are taught about sex.

“Sex is just explained incorrectly to us,” she said. “It’s like everything — magazines, sitcoms. Men ‘love’ sex, and women just deal with it.”

The comedian, whose film “Trainwreck” comes out on July 17, has never been shy about identifying as a feminist and filtering her ideas about sex through a feminist lens. “It’s so crazy that people don’t identify as feminists,” Schumer told CBS. “I think it’s only people that don’t know the definition.”

She also delved into more serious issues, like the way she uses comedy on her show, “Inside Amy Schumer,” to raise awareness about rape culture: “Maybe a girl will see this that this happened to and she’ll feel less alone,” Schumer said. “Maybe a guy sees it and think, ‘Oh that joke where she said, It’s not cool if the girl was sleeping, and it’s not cool if I film it’ — you know, maybe that’ll get in there.”

Amy Schumer Denies She Has A ‘Blind Spot’ About Race On Twitter

Amy Schumer took to Twitter Sunday morning to defend the way she treats race in her comedy.

“I am a comic,” Schumer wrote. “I will joke about things you like and I will joke about things you aren’t comfortable with.”

The post appears to be a response to a Guardian article published early Sunday morning that said Schumer has “a shockingly large blind spot around race” despite her large body of feminist work.

From The Guardian:

“Schumer’s stand-up repeatedly delves into racial territory tactlessly and with no apparent larger point. Her standup special features jokes like “Nothing works 100% of the time, except Mexicans” and much of her character’s dumb slut persona is predicated on the fact that the men she sleeps with are people of colour. “I used to date Latino guys,” she says in an older stand-up routine. “Now I prefer consensual.”

Schumer’s response didn’t mention the Guardian article directly, but said: “You can call it a ‘blind spot for racism’ or ‘lazy’ but you are wrong.”

The Guardian isn’t the first to take issue with the way the comic approaches race. A Daily Dot article published last week made similar claims. Schumer also drew criticism for a joke she made about “Gone Girl” and Latinas while hosting the 2015 MTV Movie Awards in April.

Amy Schumer Shows Why The Internet Needs To Get Over Its Disney Princess Obsession

The Internet is nauseatingly obsessed with Disney princesses, and even more obsessed with imagining them in some altered state. (As Velociraptors, seriously?) While websites love to fixate on things like how characters are animated so that their eyes are bigger than their wrists, or how they would look if they had more realistic waistlines, Amy Schumer’s latest sketch tackles the bigger question of why anyone would want to be a princess at all.

Sure, Disney movies and their characters are sanitized versions of classic fairy tales by the Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Anderson, but when all the adventure is said and done, being a princess is actually all about being married off as an underage teenager, and hoping you can produce a male heir.

Besides, everyone knows happily ever after isn’t a real thing.

Amy Schumer Admits She Got Awkward And Starstruck Around Kimye

Amy Schumer reminded all of us in April why she deserved a spot on Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list: because of her epic Kimye prank.

Remember when Schumer threw herself onto the red carpet at the Time 100 Gala in front of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian? Of course you do, but here’s a refresher just in case:

amy schumer

On “The Graham Norton Show” on Friday, the host asked Schumer whether or not the prank made West smile. Schumer confirmed that the “All Day” rapper definitely did not break his usual “sad Kanye” face. But she noted that later on, West did sort of smile at Schumer — while she was nervously lying to his wife.

The comedian told Norton that when meeting the couple during the gala itself, she became completely fake. “You know when you’re in front of a celebrity?” Schumer said. “I become such a flake, I was just saying things I don’t mean.”

“‘You and your sisters, they’re just inspiring,’ just nonsense,” the comedian recalled saying to Kardashian.

West, Schumer said, was smiling during that charade, “but as if you programmed a robot to smile.” It definitely wasn’t this kind of Kanye smile.

Amy Schumer: ‘I Think People Hate Women’

Being a woman in Hollywood involves putting up with a whole lot of bullsh*t.

During The Hollywood Reporter’s Comedy Actress roundtable, six hilarious A-listers — Amy Schumer, Lena Dunham, Tracee Ellis Ross, Ellie Kemper, Gina Rodriguez and Kate McKinnon — got real about sexism in the entertainment industry.

Schumer didn’t hold back when discussing the lack of women in late-night television, and why women don’t make it into powerful and visible positions even though there is no shortage of female talent.

“I think people hate women,” she said. “I don’t think they want to hear a woman talk for too long. A lot of people project their mom yelling at them. My [career] has been about tricking people into listening. I’m not saying all men hate women, but there’s such an aggression.”

Dunham backed her up, pointing to the vicious commentary that awaits vocal women on platforms like Twitter and Instagram. “The way women are spoken to in social media is truly shocking,” she said. “It’s how you imagine people screaming at prisoners in Guantanamo.”

The women related stories of receiving death threats, rape threats, wishes of cancer diagnoses and hearing the good ol’ “women aren’t funny” refrain on social media. They also spoke about experiencing overt sexism from within their own industry.

Dunham opened up about a time when she heard man who was working on “Girls” make a rude comment about the work environment.

“I heard a guy on my show say into his microphone: ‘I hate this job. I can’t wait to be back on a show where there’s a man at the helm,'” Dunham recounted. Later on, she says the same man commented on her lunch, saying, “You’re really enjoying that buffet, aren’t you?”

“He’s the worst person alive,” said Dunham when Schumer asked her who the dude was. “I hope he reads this, which he won’t because he’s drunk.”

But all of the actresses agreed that having more projects led by women and people of color — especially ones that make money — make it easier for people who aren’t white men in the future. “Show them it’s all a good investment,” said Rodriguez.

Head over to The Hollywood Reporter to read the full roundtable discussion.

On ‘Inside Amy Schumer,’ Bill Nye Confirms The Universe Exists To Guide White Women In Their 20s

On Tuesday night’s “Inside Amy Schumer,” Bill Nye confirmed what we pretty much already knew — the universe only exists to send “cosmic guidance” to white women in their 20s.

Obviously.

Nye explained that while scientists once believed the universe was a “chaotic collection of matter,” recent breakthroughs have led them to understand it’s just basically a “giant dream board on which women pin their wishes.”

Because “if you just put it out into the universe, it will just manifest itself.” You know?

Totes.

Amy Schumer And Paul Feig Teaming Up For New Film

Life is good when all your favorite people team up to make something cool. Amy Schumer will co-write and star in a mother-daughter comedy, with Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids,” “The Heat”) producing, The Hollywood Reporter learned on Friday.

According to THR, Schumer and her sister Kim Caramele will rework a script that was already written by Katie Dippold, who has signed on to write the all-female “Ghostbusters” with Feig. Specifics, like a title and a plot, about the mother-daughter comedy are unknown, but THR reports that it’s an “action-comedy” that focuses on a “vacation gone wrong.”

Schumer collaborated with Judd Apatow on her latest film, “Trainwreck,” which is due out later this summer. Yes please, to all of this.
