The Family Business! Miley Cyrus Joins Sister Noah and Dad Billy Ray to Sing His Classic ‘Achy Breaky Heart’

Noah Cyrus had a big night Friday opening for Katy Perry on her Witness World Tour at Madison Square Garden in front of the Cyrus clan.

The “Make Me” singer, 17, brought her father, Billy Ray Cyrus onstage with her to perform his hit “Achy Breaky Heart,” the audience got an even bigger surprise when older sister Miley, 24, joined the duo soon after.

The two sisters showed while they may have grown up in Hollywood, they still have some serious country moves, with the duo dancing around as their dad did a guitar solo.

“I’m so excited,” Noah told the audience. “You don’t get your family onstage every day.”

Mom Tish, 50, and sister Brandi, 30, were in the audience watching the performance — this was the family’s first time seeing Noah perform on tour.

“Miley, Dad, Mom, I love you guys,” Noah said from the stage. “Brandi, I love you.”

This was Billy Ray’s, 56, first time performing at Madison Square Garden. Shortly before performing with her father, Noah covered Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” and brought out producer Labrinth for a performance of her hit single, “Make Me (Cry).”

In June, Noah opened up to PEOPLE about receiving career advice from her big sister.

“Miley says, ‘Just have fun with it,’” Noah said. “Because I worry too much, and Miley is like, ‘You gotta just have fun with it.’”

Later in the show, Perry took a moment to speak from her heart about Sunday’s Las Vegas massacre, the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

“My wish is for some freakin’ peace! Don’t ya think?” the singer, 32, told the audience.

Before performing her 2012 hit “Part of Me,” Perry said, “This is one of my favorite songs to sing — I want to dedicate it to you guys. You chose to come out and overcome this dumb fear. You chose to come into the community of music and to be together… and be inspired.”

Justin Bieber Dodges Water Bottle Attack After Refusing To Sing ‘Despacito’

Justin Bieber may want to invest in learning the Spanish lyrics to his hit song “Despacito.”

The pop star, who sings on a remix of the Luis Fonsi track with Daddy Yankee, can be heard all over the airwaves worldwide. But at a concert last weekend, he refused to perform the hit single because he didn’t know the words.

When the audience at Stockholm’s Summerburst Festival requested that Bieber perform “Despacito” live, Bieber swiftly declined, per video taken from the concert by a fan. “I can’t do ‘Despacito.’ I don’t even know it,” the singer can be heard saying. “I can’t do the song. I can’t do it.”

Kudos for the honesty? Nope. One audience member apparently didn’t like that response and decided to throw a water bottle aimed at Bieber’s head, which the “Sorry” singer successfully dodged. Bieber appeared to take the whole thing in stride, telling the crowd, “Woah, don’t throw things at me, please.”

This follows an awkward incident in which the 23-year-old Canadian attempted to perform “Despacito” at a recent show in New York but instead sang, “blah blah,” and replaced some lyrics with the words “Dorito” and “burrito.”

Fonsi, for one, didn’t seem to mind that Bieber butchered his Spanish-language song in concert.

“That chorus is not easy to sing, even for fluent Spanish singers like myself,” Fonsi told Rolling Stone. “It’s got a lot of lyrics, it’s kind of tongue-twisty … I’ve done songs in other languages. I know how hard it is.”

At least Bieber has one person in his corner.

Watch Syria’s Piano Man Sing Along His Harrowing Journey To Europe

Four years of brutal civil war in Syria could not keep Ayham Ahmad from singing. Neither could his harrowing voyage to Europe.

The 27-year-old musician fled Syria and took a rubber dinghy from Turkey to Greece last week. As soon as he arrived on the shores of Europe, he sat down in front of the waves and began to sing of his home — the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk near Damascus.

“Europe is a land of freedom. Now that I’m in Europe I can continue to keep singing about life in Yarmouk and the people who live there,” he told The WorldPost after he arrived on the Greek island of Lesbos.

As he trekked across the Balkans, trying to find a safe route to enter Austria, he reprised the ballads to Yarmouk that he once sang on the camp’s war-shattered streets.

On Monday, Ahmad made it to Austria, the country of Mozart and Schubert. The same day, he came across a piano made by historic Austrian instrument-maker Bösendorfer in Vienna and sat down to play a song about Yarmouk.

“Yarmouk is in my heart, and it will remain in my thoughts and in my music,” he wrote on Facebook that day. “We will keep on singing.”

Ahmad arrived in Germany on Tuesday, where he hopes to find a better life and provide for his wife, two young children and elderly parents back in Syria.

On his first day in Munich, he got a German volunteer at the refugee reception center to join him on guitar as he sang stories of Yarmouk to the other refugees. He posted another video of him playing the piano in Munich on Thursday, wishing everyone well for the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha.

For years, Ahmad has posted videos of his recitals amid the ruins of Yarmouk to draw attention to the plight of the camp’s besieged residents. Earlier this year, Ahmad’s piano was burned by Islamist militants as he tried to move it out of the camp.

As he finally fled the country, Ahmad has meticulously documented his voyage on Facebook, and provided further materials to The WorldPost for a diary of his voyage.

“To speak the language of music is better than speaking English, Arabic, German, Dutch, Russian, Serbian and Bulgarian,” Ahmad wrote on Facebook from Munich on Wednesday. “This is what I felt through the interaction with foreigners on my journey to Germany.”

Mehreen Kasana contributed to this report.

Watch Cute Kids Sing John Oliver’s Song For DC Statehood

A group of cute kids gathered in front of the U.S. Capitol on Sunday morning to advocate for statehood for the District of Columbia, singing comedian John Oliver’s D.C. statehood song.

On last Sunday’s episode of “Last Week Tonight,” Oliver dedicated a segment to explaining the fight for statehood in Washington, D.C. At the end, Oliver led kids in a rendition of the famous “50 States Song” — with new lyrics.

Alabama and Alaska,
Arizona, Arkansas
California, Colorado
Connecticut and more
There are 50 states in total
And we’ll sing their names with glee
But there’s one place that gets shafted
And it’s Washington, D.C.

All the rest of us can choose a path

That we think is best

But any choice that D.C. makes

Is easily suppressed

‘Cause some asshole with a rider
Who might live in Tennessee
Can destroy a needle program
For preventing HIV.

The District of Columbia has no voting representation in Congress, but Congress has substantial control over the city’s budget and laws. Congress has frequently blocked or changed measures that D.C. residents voted to approve, such as marijuana legalization and needle exchange programs. While the District has a representative in Congress, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D), she has no formal powers.

“She basically has pretend power, like a child watching ‘Dora the Explorer,'” Oliver said.

Oliver’s segment has inspired a renewed fight for D.C. statehood among the city’s residents and elected officials. A community group called The Hill Is Home organized Sunday’s singalong.
