Nikki Bella Jokes That Twin Sister Brie Should Have Broken Up with John Cena in Her Place

Nikki Bella has a sense of humor about her relationship drama with John Cena.

In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with her twin sister Brie Bella, the wrestler, 34, quipped about the romance.

When Fallon asked about the advantages of having an identical twin, Nikki replied, “When we were young, we’d break up with boyfriends for each other.”

Brie chimed in, “We never had to go through the emotions of a breakup because I was like, ‘You wanna dump the guy? Cool.’ I’d be like, ‘Hello? Yeah, not into you. Sorry.’ And then I would just go on with my day, no hard feelings, and she’d be like, ‘Did you do it?’ And I’d be like, ‘Yeah, you’re good.’”

Then Nikki got in a burn: “So where were you a few months ago? Just kidding.”

“Sorry,” she said as the audience gasped.

“That would’ve been a hard phone call,” Brie replied.

Nikki was cheekily alluding to her rocky road with Cena, 41. The longtime loves got engaged in April 2017 after dating for five years. A year later, Nikki broke off the engagement three weeks before their May 5 wedding date.

“He was making it abundantly clear that he was going into this gritting his teeth the whole way,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “Nikki is an amazing, talented, strong, one-of-a-kind woman. Anyone would be lucky to have her in their life — yet John acted more and more like he was doing her a favor by somehow conceding to go ahead and marry her.”

On The Tonight Show, Nikki opened up about how difficult it is to watch the moments play out on TV.

“This season’s been really painful for me,” she said. “To just relive, it’s been super tough.”

When Fallon mentioned that the Total Bellas season finale is “emotional,” Nikki explained, “Brie and I, we’re just beyond open books. But we feel like if you want to have a reality show, you can’t have the fake stuff. You really have to let people into your life, and that’s how you connect with people.”

The split also stemmed from their differing thoughts on having children.

“I do want to be a mom,” Nikki said on Total Divas in 2013. “I feel like I’d be missing out.”

“I’m going to choose my words carefully,” Cena answered. “I can’t give you that.”

On a recent episode of Total Bellas, Nikki got nervous about marrying Cena because of this difference of opinion. “I just know deep down I want a baby,” she said. “I want to be a mom, and I feel like I can’t live the rest of my life not having one.”

Then, Cena agreed to have his vasectomy reversed.

On Total Bellas, the Blockers star told Nikki about his change of heart. “I physically can’t have kids,” he said. “So I’m also telling you that I’m willing to have surgery and then still go through with being a dad.”

But in the latest episode of Total Bellas, Nikki decided to cancel the wedding again. “It’s tough because he’s, like, fighting really hard for me,” she said, going on to add that “there’s something that is making me not feel like I can walk down the aisle right now.”

The season finale of Total Bellas airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on E!

Sister Act! Watch the KarJenners Pose Around the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Sexy Gala Video

Kim, Kendall, and Kylie take the Met!

Keeping Up with the Kardashians stars Kim Kardashian West, Kendall JennerKylie Jenner and mom Kris Jenner appeared to have a ball at Monday’s 2018 Met Gala, walking the red carpet of the Costume Institute’s annual benefit and sharing a slew of selfies from inside the ball.

But while the three sisters didn’t pose together for photographers, they united inside New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art where “they struck poses against the gorgeous walls of the French Wrightsman galleries” in a video shared to Vogue‘s Instagram page.

Meanwhile, all three reality stars looked glam on fashion’s biggest night out.

Though all seemed to skip the over-the-top couture designer duds that stars like Cardi B, Rihanna, and Katy Perry costumed themselves in for the event’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” theme, the KarJenners found their own way to stand out.

Kardashian West, 37, looked like liquid gold in her custom chainmail Versace dress featuring crosses embroidered on the bodice and hip. She teamed the look with double cross necklaces, super long extensions and a Cleopatra-like makeup look featuring a smokey cat eye and a very ’90s over-lined lip that would make co-host Donatella Versace  proud.

Kendall, 22, rocked an off-the-shoulder ruched couture top with sheer elbow-length gloves and matching “long train” couture pants designed for her by close friend, Off-White creative director Virgil Abloh.

The model was “reminiscent of an angelic cloud sought to signify Roman Catholicism in renaissance art – embodying purity and delicacy of a modern angel,” according the release sent by the brand.

Meanwhile, Kylie, 20, made her post-baby return to the red carpet just three-months after welcoming daughter Stormi Webster.

Attending alongside boyfriend Travis Scott, she wore a head-turning strapless black Alexander Wang gown with a stomach cut-out, mirrored sunglasses and Chopard diamond earrings.

“We were all so nerve-wracked because it was such a big moment, but she killed it,” makeup artist Ariel Tejada told PeopleStyle of her look. “It’s refreshing for somebody to walk onto a carpet looking refreshed and glowing and just ready to take on the event.”

The Family Business! Miley Cyrus Joins Sister Noah and Dad Billy Ray to Sing His Classic ‘Achy Breaky Heart’

Noah Cyrus had a big night Friday opening for Katy Perry on her Witness World Tour at Madison Square Garden in front of the Cyrus clan.

The “Make Me” singer, 17, brought her father, Billy Ray Cyrus onstage with her to perform his hit “Achy Breaky Heart,” the audience got an even bigger surprise when older sister Miley, 24, joined the duo soon after.

The two sisters showed while they may have grown up in Hollywood, they still have some serious country moves, with the duo dancing around as their dad did a guitar solo.

“I’m so excited,” Noah told the audience. “You don’t get your family onstage every day.”

Mom Tish, 50, and sister Brandi, 30, were in the audience watching the performance — this was the family’s first time seeing Noah perform on tour.

“Miley, Dad, Mom, I love you guys,” Noah said from the stage. “Brandi, I love you.”

This was Billy Ray’s, 56, first time performing at Madison Square Garden. Shortly before performing with her father, Noah covered Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” and brought out producer Labrinth for a performance of her hit single, “Make Me (Cry).”

In June, Noah opened up to PEOPLE about receiving career advice from her big sister.

“Miley says, ‘Just have fun with it,’” Noah said. “Because I worry too much, and Miley is like, ‘You gotta just have fun with it.’”

Later in the show, Perry took a moment to speak from her heart about Sunday’s Las Vegas massacre, the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

“My wish is for some freakin’ peace! Don’t ya think?” the singer, 32, told the audience.

Before performing her 2012 hit “Part of Me,” Perry said, “This is one of my favorite songs to sing — I want to dedicate it to you guys. You chose to come out and overcome this dumb fear. You chose to come into the community of music and to be together… and be inspired.”

Andy Dunn, Sister Monica Royer Grow Children’s Biz Monica + Andy

NEW YORK — Direct-to-consumer children’s wear brand Monica + Andy is growing its offline footprint.
The three-year-old-company — named after Monica Royer, founder and chief executive officer, and kid brother Andy Dunn, founder of Bonobos and chairman of the board for Monica + Andy — this week opened its second guide shop. Located on the Upper West Side here at 410 Columbus Avenue, the 810-square-foot boutique is adjacent to Pure Barre and Scotch and Soda and is the former home of Alexis Bittar.
Royer has learned a thing or two from Dunn, who last week sold his eight-year-old men’s wear brand to Wal-Mart Stores Inc., for $ 310 million. She implemented Bonobos’ Guideshop retail concept into her business model almost from the inception of Monica + Andy, which launched an e-commerce site in spring 2014 at monicaandandy.com and opened a flagship guide shop in Chicago in July 2014. Most items in the collection — including newborn to toddler clothing and muslin blankets — range in price from about $ 20 to $ 70, with gift boxes that can go up to $ 250 to $ 1,000.
Instead of focusing on e-commerce first and trying bricks-and-mortar retail later — like many of the early direct-to-consumer companies, including Bonobos — Royer said

A Brother And Sister Fall For The Same Guy In This New Indie Comedy

A brother and a sister fall for the same guy in the heartfelt new comedy, “I Love You Both,” and HuffPost has an exclusive clip from the film.

Released on iTunes, Amazon and other streaming services June 9, “I Love You Both” follows Krystal (played by Kristin Archibald) and Donny (Doug Archibald, who is Kristin’s real-life brother), who are forced to confront a lifetime of codependency when they start dating Andy (Lucas Neff), who identifies as bisexual. The millennial siblings remain in denial about the fact that they’re both seeing Andy until he picks one of them ― a decision that could have a disastrous impact on their relationship.

In the clip above, Andy and Krystal enjoy a game of Heads Up while Donny looks on disapprovingly as he observes the obvious chemistry between his twin sister and his lover.

The Archibalds began developing “I Love You Both” when they recalled a time when they both liked the same guy, Doug Archibald told HuffPost. Their relationship is considerably more functional than Krystal and Donny’s, however. “As a director it was nice because we have many shared memories that helped me direct her and also I know what makes her feel certain ways,” he said. “But also it was amazing because she did things I never expected, too, even though I know her as well as anyone can know someone.”

The writer-director shrugged off the suggestion that the depiction of a bisexual man falling for two opposite sex siblings was in any way stereotypical or problematic. “The movie is just a very realistic scenario where a bisexual person meets two people who are just alike ― because they are twins and codependent ― so he naturally likes both of them,” he said. “He doesn’t lead on both of them. He does his best to take cues from them. And we can’t expect him to be perfect.”

Ultimately, Archibald sees “I Love You Both” as “a comedy about siblings” as opposed to a queer-specific narrative. “It would be nice to reach that person who wouldn’t normally watch a movie with a gay or bisexual main character, but takes a chance on ours and is maybe changed in a small way,” he said. “Maybe that’s our film’s place in the world.”

Noah Cyrus Reveals the Special Career Advice Big Sister Miley Gave Her

With multiple hit singles and dual upcoming album releases, Miley Cyrus and her younger sister Noah are already ruling the summer music scene.

The twosome performed back-to-back Saturday night at the iHeartSummer ’17 Weekend by AT&T at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and quite literally sang each other’s praises.

Before the show, the sisters spoke about their friendship as well as their summer plans. Noah, 17, told PEOPLE that her sister has given her helpful advice about this stage of her career.

“Miley says, ‘Just have fun with it,’ ” Noah said. “Because I worry too much, and Miley is like, ‘You gotta just have fun with it.’ ”

The younger Cyrus also reflected on her recent rise to fame.

“I’m really excited because I just started in November, and I couldn’t have asked for things to go better,” Noah said. “I just really feel blessed right now for every opportunity I’ve gotten so far.”

As for Miley, 24, she’s focused on her career this summer as well.

“My plans for the summer are pretty much this – going out and performing the song ‘Malibu’, then I go back to The Voice coming up next month,” she said. “We’re doing the blinds, so back to my red chair!”

Miley opened her set on Saturday with her current hit — and ode to fiancé Liam Hemsworth — “Malibu.”

“I’ve played this song ‘Malibu’ everywhere – but it’s always really great when I can play it by the beach,” she told the crowd. “So, I’m happy to be all hot and sweaty with you guys, my hair is extra wild. Who out here’s hair is super f—-ing frizzy?”

The “Wrecking Ball” singer then performed her new single, “Inspired“, telling the crowd, “they told me not to do this, but rebelling is kind of my thing, so let’s do it.”

Miley dedicated the song to the LGBTQ community and explained that proceeds from the song are going to her Happy Hippie Foundation.

RELATED VIDEO: Miley Cyrus and the Happy Hippie Foundation – Exclusive Clip!

“We’ll sing this one with a bunch of love in our hearts for the LGBTQ community,” she told the crowd.

At one point, Miley, dressed in a white t-shirt, jean shorts, and thigh-high boots, brought Noah onstage to help soak the audience with water guns.

The older sister than passed down the torch to Noah.

“Make sure you’re super kind to my little sister who is coming out here to play next, I’ll be here watching,” she told the crowd. Noah immediately returned the favor, telling the crowd, “Miley killed it, right?”

Noah sang “Stay Together,” “I’m Stuck” and “Make Me Cry” as well as covers of “Electric Love” and The Weeknd’s “I Feel it Coming” (which Miley joined her for, as the duo did a little dance together).

The weekend concert series, which will broadcast on the AUDIENCE Network on June 23 and June 24, also featured performances by DJ Khaled, Halsey, Backstreet Boys, Fifth Harmony, Tinashe and Luis Fonsi.

The Lonely Island Tell The Story Of How ‘Dear Sister’ Came To ‘SNL’

Before they were never stop never stopping, or telling Lego World that everything is awesome, or even offering up “Congratulations on the Sex!” cakes, the comedic minds behind The Lonely Island — Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone and Andy Samberg — were brainstorming ideas for a digital short late into an April 2007 week during “Saturday Night Live” Season 32.

“We were hard up for an idea because we had gotten through that we’d be making a digital short every week at that point,” Samberg said to The Huffington Post, referring to the pre-shot segments cooked up by the trio that regularly ran on the NBC variety show from 2005 to 2012. “One of us was like, ‘What about that “O.C.” thing? Maybe we could do that.’”

The “’O.C.’ thing” was an idea they’d hatched years before, after watching a 2005 episode of the seminal Fox teen show where Marissa (Mischa Barton) shoots Trey (Logan Marshall-Green) over a soundtrack of “Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap (more commonly known hereafter in the pop culture lexicon as “Mmm Whatcha Say”).

“We were all kind of obsessed with it together,” explained Schaffer. “One day, Andy and Jorm took out our home video camera and, just around our apartment, kind of shot what I would consider the first 45 seconds, maybe minute’s worth of a short with no ending in mind … but it was not for any intended audience or for anything, really. It was just for fun.”

The just-for-fun idea in their library combined with a looming deadline eventually morphed into the digital short we all now know as “The Shooting,” or “Dear Sister,” on April 14, 2007. (It helped that “The O.C.” itself had just finished its run two months before the short aired, so an homage felt appropriate.)

Translating the idea from its beginnings into something with an arc of sorts was a challenge.

“It took a while for us to figure it out, just ‘cause there was no logical end. We had to really invent something,” Taccone said.

“And then it became completely logical,” Shaffer added.

We took a walk down comedy-memory lane with Schaffer, Taccone and Samberg for the short’s 10-year anniversary.

Did you guys have to run the short by Lorne Michaels or anyone before it made it on the show? What was the reaction when you first showed it?

Samberg: The first time Lorne would see any of our shorts was at dress rehearsal at 8 p.m. so I don’t think this was any different.

Schaffer: Yeah, and it played really well, and we were all kind of pleasantly surprised by that. I don’t think we thought it was gonna not do well, but we kind of didn’t know how much people would be on board for it, because it’s kind of a weird art film.

That’s what we kept laughing about, that we’d made kind of a weird art film that didn’t really have anything you could exactly explain why it was entertaining or if it was entertaining. The music layers on itself at the end, and that’s what was making us giggle in the edit room, it was like, “Ooh, we’re making kind of an art film here!” I remember saying that a lot.

And then playing it at the thing, you never know how the audience is going to react. I didn’t think that they would hate it or anything, but I thought it would be maybe quieter than it was. But it felt like they liked it right away.

Samberg: What we learned was that the sort of cinema and TV trope of the gunshot off-camera and somebody, in slo-mo, seeing blood on their own hands and realizing it’s them was more popular than we realized.

Jorma Taccone: I think that we also realized that we had our finger on the pulse.

Samberg (exasperated): No, Jorm, don’t —

Schaffer: Jorm should work in advertising for a little while. You have to forgive him. He’s a big advertising guy now.

When you guys brought Shia LaBeouf on, did he have any ideas of his own to add or was he just game for it?

Schaffer: He was just game. We always had a great time with Shia when he would come host. He was one of our favorites. I don’t even know how much we explained it to any of the actors, honestly. I think Bill [Hader] knew what it was ‘cause his office was next to ours and we would always, in the writing process, share with Bill, Bill would be there. And everybody else, we would just tell wardrobe what to dress them in and tell them where to meet us, and they would just kind of show up. I don’t know that we even pitched to them ahead of time.

Taccone: That was also a late-night one too, that people were showing up pretty late. Like, what time was it?

Schaffer: That was definitely a Friday night shoot, which is the worst, ‘cause then you’re editing it straight up till airtime. The reason that it looks the way it does is because there had been no plan to do it. I mean, based on basically what we already told you, which is that we were so stuck for an idea that we thought worthy of doing a short that we had to go back into our library and find something two years earlier. So that tells you how much we had been kinda stuck that week.

So it was definitely a last-minute short, and the reason it looks like it does is ‘cause that’s just a hotel suite. When it gets to be Friday night and you haven’t figured it out, then the only thing you can do is rent a hotel suite, grab some lights, and film in there. And so that’s what it is, just a hotel room and some lights.

I remember [Jason] Sudeikis being asleep on one of the beds of the actual hotel suite because we had asked him and Fred [Armisen] to come, you know, in their police outfits — they didn’t even know what it was for — and now it was like, three in the morning and we hadn’t gotten to their part yet.

Samberg: Yeah, and we kind of made up the ending on set, right?

Schaffer: Yeah, We knew it would be police officers showing up and then they would shoot each other, but I don’t think we knew that we would have them do it over and over again. Or maybe they weren’t gonna shoot each other, and we came up with them shooting each other on set?

Taccone: I can’t remember which part we came up with on set.

Samberg: It might have been just show up and read the letter and that was the blow on the whole thing, “Oh, she’s gonna [read] the letter about how they were all gonna shoot each other. How ‘bout that.” And then I think on set we had it that the cops shooting each other was also in the letter.

Schaffer: The fact that the music was overlapping was in edit. It was gonna be that it kept resetting.

Taccone: That was accidental. ‘Cause we let it go long, and then you were like, “Oh shit.”

Schaffer: Yeah, exactly, and it was like, “Oh, that’s cool.” And I do wanna give credit to Sudeikis because I feel like he was the first one to say, “Oh, we should shoot each other.”

The feeling I had first watching “Dear Sister” felt similar to watching the “David S. Pumpkins” sketch in this season of “SNL.” I was wondering what you thought about slightly confusing absurdity becoming sort of viral and iconic.

Schaffer: That’s high praise. We’re big into David S. Pumpkins.

Samberg: Basically anything like that where it basically makes no sense but there’s somehow a set of rules, they’re just not the rules of reality as we know it, we generally enjoy.

Schaffer: Yeah. It’s not pure random, because then pure random’s never funny, it doesn’t really have any meaning. But somehow, David S. Pumpkins taps into something everybody understands. It just becomes a delight.

Taccone: Those are also two great songs, you know: Imogen Heap, for obvious reasons, and David S. Pumpkins has an equally great song.

After the short took off with fans and got a life of its own, did that affect the way you approached shorts in the future at all?

All three: No, not really.

Samberg: It’s always a surprise which ones got, like, tribute videos and stuff. I never would’ve guessed that, for example, “Threw It on the Ground” would’ve been one, but that turned into one that people really liked. Like, kids liked it a lot.

Taccone: That’s kind of the advantage of “SNL” too, is that every week, no matter what you do, there’s gonna be a show next week, and you have to kind of reset and start from scratch. You don’t really have time to even — I mean, we were always sort of conscious of not trying to repeat ourselves, but there was no trying to follow something that was popular, because you couldn’t … there was no time to try to come up with, “Oh, is this gonna go viral?”

Samberg: Nothing ever went viral where, before someone made it, they said, “We want this to go viral.”

Taccone: This was early enough in the process that they didn’t clear music for internet use always and they weren’t putting things on YouTube, so it was especially impressive that it went viral considering it wasn’t put online. It was only put online by kids who were putting it online themselves. They only cleared Imogen Heap’s song for air, and so it didn’t even go online, so that’s how … I don’t know.

Samberg: That’s how much we have our finger on the pulse.

Nothing ever went viral where, before someone made it, they said, “We want this to go viral.”
Andy Samberg

Are there any sort of fun little moments that you guys remember from filming the sketch that most people wouldn’t notice when they watch it?

Schaffer: We were very impressed with Shia’s dead acting. When he hit the ground, he really let his head hit the ground. We were also impressed with how well he was able to hold his eyes still in a way that seemed, you know, whatever he was doing — thousand-yard stare — was really working for us.

The gun in it is also the gun, if you watched any of our pre-”SNL” short things we were making for our website — that gun was, I forget where we got it, but it’s like, shooting little plastic balls. We used it for everything that required a gun. That’s how homemade the digital shorts were at this point. We didn’t even ask the props department for a gun, we were just like, “Oh, yeah, we have that gun at home.” Everyone’s wearing their own clothes except for the costumes of the police, right? You guys, I think, are just in your own sweatshirts and stuff.

Taccone: To add to that gun story, what we did oftentimes with that gun — that was a little pellet gun — and we would ball up little wads of paper, when we all lived in Los Angeles together, and we would stuff them in the barrel and shoot each other with the gun and try to give each other little welts.

Samberg: Oh, yeah.

Schaffer: It was like an endurance challenge.

Was there anything else you wanted to add about the short?

Schaffer: We just love that people are taking interest in it. We loved it a ton and didn’t think it would become this popular, so it’s very fun to talk about.

Samberg: I guess the last thing I would like to say is: Shoutout to Josh Schwartz for creating “The O.C.,” and shoutout to Imogen Heap for making an incredible, timeless, classic tune.

Schaffer: I wanted to say to the kids to follow your dreams. When you watch this short, it requires nothing. Anybody could make it in their living room of their own apartment or house.

Taccone: Yeah, they could definitely get Shia LaBeouf to stop by.

Schaffer: We don’t have good lights, we don’t have anything. Except for cop uniforms, I guess. That would be — but anyone can go buy those at the Halloween store. My point is that there’s nothing fancy or unattainable about it, it looks like crap, it’s just an idea.

Taccone: I want to remind the kids to get out there and vote.

Sister Wives Stars Join Hundreds of Polygamous Families Protesting Bigamy Law

The success of TLC’s show Sister Wives has given millions of people a view into the real-life workings of a polygamist family. And on Friday afternoon, patriarch Kody Brown and his Sister Wives family brought the cameras with them as they rallied to make plural marriage legal.

Gathering on the steps of the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City, the reality stars joined hundreds of others polygamous people and supporters in protest of a bill that would keep polygamy a felony in Utah.

“I’m a father, a husband, and a lover, NOT a felon,” read a sign held by Brown.

It was the first time since 2012 that the Sister Wives stars made a public appearance in Utah. Brown and his wives — Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn — moved from there to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2011.

Last month, Brown attempted to challenge Utah’s bigamy law with the U.S. Supreme Court, but was declined.

Utah’s current polygamy law currently states that married people cannot live with an extra spouse or claim to have a second “spiritual spouse,” the Associated Press reports.

The new bill, sponsored by Republican Rep. Mike Noel of Kanab, would “adjust the definition of bigamy to say someone is guilty if he or she ‘purports’ to marry two or more people and cohabits with them,” The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The proposed legislation would also subject those convicted under it to harsher penalties if they’re convicted of additional crimes, such as domestic or sexual abuse, the AP reports. Those who leave polygamous relationships because they feared harm, coercion, are underage, or are trying to protect a minor in the plural family would be shielded from prosecution.

According to Noel and a handful of former polygamists women who support his bill, closed polygamous communities can have widespread problems – including sexual abuse, child abuse, welfare fraud and forced labor. They stated their cause on Friday, before the rally began outside the Capitol, the AP reports. (The Browns do not live in a closed polygamist community.)

Noel’s bill was approved by a House committee this week. It is not waiting to be voted on by the full House of Representatives, the AP reports.

There are roughly 30,000 polygamists living in Utah according to Noah’s bill. It’s practice is an early teaching of the Mormon church, who preached polygamy brings exaltation in heaven. The current Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints forbids the practice, abandoning it in 1890.

Brown told The Salt Late Tribune on Friday that keeping polygamy a crime makes polygamous families afraid to call ambulances or social services that can help them. “Stop prosecuting consenting adults,” he said.

“I want my right to live my life as a consenting adult,” added Meri Brown.

Kody is legally married to only one of his wives — Robyn. He was married to Meri, his first wife, until 2015, when the pair quietly divorced and Kody remarried. Kody and his wives remain “spiritually married.”

Serena Williams Blows Kiss to Fiancé at Australian Open as She Advances to Face Sister Venus in Finals

There was love on and off the court at the Australian Open on Thursday.

After securing her victory over Croatia’s Mirjana Lučić-Baroni, Serena Williams took a moment to blow a sweet kiss to her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian, as he watched her adoringly from the stands.

In a photo of the sweet moment, the 35-year-old tennis great is shown with her right hand to her lips, preparing to blow the kiss to the Reddit co-founder.

Ohanian, 33, has proven to be one of Williams’ biggest fans, posting Instagram photos of her matches as she battles it out in the tennis tournament.

On Thursday, he praised his wife-to-be and her sister, Venus, as they both advanced to the final round of the competition.

“This is going to be a historic #WilliamsFinals at the #AusOpen,” Ohanian captioned an Instagram photo post. “I’m so proud and grateful to witness this. I hope you all will be watching these two legends AKA my fiance and sister.”

After her win, Serena told reporters it’s very meaningful to be matched up against her sister.

“This is probably the moment of our careers so far,” she said, per CNN.

“It’s the one time that I really genuinely feel like no matter what happens, I can’t lose, she can’t lose. It’s going to be a great situation,” she also said.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

The 22-time Grand Slam champion revealed her engagement to Ohanian last month. Fittingly, she broke the news in a poem — on Reddit.

Ohanian commented on Williams’ Reddit post, writing, “And you made me the happiest man on the planet.”

Williams later subtly unveiled her engagement ring in a (you guessed it) Reddit post, showing herself posing alongside Ohanian. She titled the post: “Engagement shoe game.”

She earlier opened up about the engagement during a post-match press conference after securing a first-round victory in the Australian Open, saying, “It feels good.”

Serena Williams Engaged to Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian – and Announces on Reddit!

“I really haven’t thought about it too much, because I wasn’t even really gonna think about it until after the tournament,” she continued. “So, I just keep saying, ‘February, I’ll start looking at the bigger picture of my life.’ But right now I’m just so focused that this is all I can think about.”

She also gushed about Ohanian, calling him “a really nice person.”

“I think he definitely treats everyone the same, which is really cool to see,” Williams said. “Really, really nice to see.”

Why Alaia Baldwin (Yes, Hailey Baldwin’s Big Sister!) Is the Next Model to Watch

Celebrity siblings are taking the fashion industry by storm. First there was Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Then came Gigi and Bella Hadid. Now, Alaia Baldwin is joining younger sis Hailey (not to mention cousin Ireland, talk about good genes!) in pursuing modeling. The 22-year-old recently signed with new modeling agency State Management, which represents girls with strong looks and personalities. She is reportedly moving to New York next week to focus full-time on her new career.

With her freshly-shorn brunette shag—the style of the moment—and kohl-rimmed eyes, Alaia (she couldn’t have a better name for fashion) has a totally different look and energy than her bubbly blonde sister Hailey, 18, who people often mistake for being older than her. But much like Insta-famous Hailey, who boasts 2 million-plus followers, Alaia has some well-known friends including Sailor Brinkley-Cook, who appears alongside her brother Jack in the latest issue of Town & Country – count them as yet another celeb sibling duo.

Other fun facts about Alaia: she’s allergic to gluten, loves juicing, and when she’s bored she “just googles her family”.

When it comes to fashion, having a famous last name clearly helps get you get in the front door, but you’ve got to have the moxie, talent, and work ethic to really “make it.” Do you think Alaia has what it takes?

Sister Sledge Performs for Pope Francis in Philly, Readies to Release New Single

Sister Sledge needs only three words to identify them: “We Are Family.”
That 1978 breakout hit rocketed the Philadelphia foursome of Debbie. Joni, Kim and Kathy Sledge to fame. The latter has since gone solo, but nearly 40 years after the song’s release, the sisters were back at it Saturday, belting out the song for Pope Francis at the Festival of Families.
In a phone interview earlier this week, Joni Sledge said, “This song in particular is a gift. In this particular case, it was made for this day.”
And no matter how much of an anthem it has become, the song’s relevance remains intact, Joni Sledge said. “It’s just as powerful today. That’s one of the good things about it. It teaches respect. It’s kind of deep and teaches [that] we don’t have to profile, we don’t have to wear the latest fashions — we can just be one big family.”
To be chosen to perform for the pope, the Sledges submitted a video that featured clips from their world tour last year to the festival’s organizers. They also wrote a letter together about faith, family and love, morals they share with the pope. “Growing up, we honored his view which is very open

A Letter to the New Big Sister

Dear Kennedy,

Things abruptly changed for you about six months ago when your little sister got out of mommy’s belly and came home from the hospital with us. You were used to having mommy and daddy all to yourself. You and I spent all summer together. We went to the library, Chick-fil-A, played with friends and watched a little too much TV. It was a blast.

No matter the amount of talks and “big sister” books we read, it probably didn’t prepare you for what was to come. All of a sudden, there was a tiny little baby in our house. The baby was loud — probably much louder than you anticipated. The baby was always being held, and the baby always needed mommy.

If this upset you, it was hard to tell. You embody grace, especially for such a big girl who’s 3 years old. Even though you showed a big interest in the baby, you continued your life as usual and you didn’t seem to mind that the baby needed a lot of attention.

This had to be hard on you. I know it was. I know this because you had trouble in other areas, like using the potty. It was your one thing you could hold on to for control, and I guess I don’t blame you. But, you never seemed jealous or upset with mommy and daddy.

I’m a big sister, too. Sometimes, there’s a lot of pressure on us to set an example, not act like a baby and try new things to show that we are so big and so independent. Sometimes, we just have to be flexible, whether we like it or not. Sometimes, we get less attention and less praise. Big sisters have a tough job, but you were cut out for it. You’ve got this.

Now that your little sister has been with us for a little over six months, you use the potty like a big girl, and you are becoming so independent. The struggles you were having before seem to be no more. That doesn’t mean life is easy from here on out, but I have a feeling you will handle those with that same grace.

Kennedy, you need to know that we are proud of you. I don’t tell you this enough. You have a kind spirit, a hilarious sense of humor, a vocabulary that amazes me daily and the potential to be anything.

Most importantly, you have love. I realized this the other day when the first thing you asked from waking up from your nap was, “Where is Caroline?” Then later, you sat there and hugged her face with gusto (maybe a little too much gusto). And a little bit later, you found such joy feeding her puffs. Your little sister smiles from ear to ear when she sees your face, and always looks for you when she hears your voice. Even though I’m her mommy, I have a feeling that you’re her favorite person.

Want to know why?

It’s because of the love that radiates out of you. In the future, I know you will probably dislike her for taking your toys or borrowing your clothes. There may be some days or years that you aren’t very good friends. But she’s your sister. And this love right now? Promise me you’ll always carry it in your heart.

Keep shining, sweet Kennedy. I adore you!

Love,

Mommy

To You, Erma, Sister of Mine

Last week, when my birthday rolled around I reflected once again how nice it has been to share the day with one of America’s great humorists.

At the time of her death, every print and broadcast outlet in the country ran a tribute to Erma Bombeck, the homemaker from Dayton who one day sat down and began sending out dispatches from the front lines of motherhood. The dispatches grew into a column syndicated to over 900 newspapers, and then into some 15 books, including the hilariously titled The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank.

But, as uniformly fond as these tributes were, as I reread them online now, and many of them read as slightly dismissive, framing her almost as a clever dabbler, or a suburban mom who started writing columns as a lark.

As if any writer doing a thing “as a lark” could produce the tightly-crafted sketches she was known for. As if anyone tossing something off in the odd half hour could describe the child-rearing game the way she did.

She wrote in one column that she once lived in a place so small she had to iron in the baby’s playpen.

She wrote in another that if her kids had looked as good as the kids of her perfect neighbor, she would have sold them.

She spoke about the child who could “eat yellow snow; kiss the dog on the lips; chew gum that he found in the ash tray, but wouldn’t drink from his brother’s glass.”

And then there was the column where she imagined how each of her three kids might someday recall her:

Her first-born would think of her as: “The slim dark-haired mom who used to read me stories and paste my baby pictures in the album.”

Her second-born would picture: “The somber-looking bleached blonde who used to put me to bed at 6:30, and bought me a dog to save on napkins.”

And the baby of the family, she wrote, would remember her as: “The grayish lady who fell asleep during the six o’clock news, and was GOING to display my baby pictures, as soon as she took the rest of the roll — at my wedding.”

She had just that light way of describing time’s effect on us all.

But funny as she was, she always told the truth.

She spoke of the feeling that comes to women raising kids in the then-newly fashionable “nuclear family,” where a man, a woman and their children went off and lived on their own, sometimes far from all kin.

Her commentary on this new arrangement: “No one talked about it, but everyone knew what it was. It was a condition, and it came with the territory.”

She called that condition loneliness.

I learned about this loneliness when I left my job teaching to care for my own small children.

In their baby years, I would stuff them into coats and snowsuits and push, or walk or carry them — somewhere — anywhere I might find another woman in another house trying to do the hardest job on earth all by herself.

But, when those babies napped?

When they napped, I’d kick the toys under the couch and begin to read and read, looking for something I could not name — until one day in my daily paper, I met the writer who would show me what I most wanted to do in life.

Erma wrote a column every week for 32 years.

By now, I have been writing one for 35 years — and with every passing birthday, I think what a privilege it has been to follow in her footsteps, recording real life and celebrating its vicissitudes.

Connor of the Fae is delighted at his unanticipated meeting with the lovely Mary but appalled to learn that the innocent young woman is contemplating becoming a nun. Before Mary chooses a celibate life, Connor is determined that she should experience the carnal pleasures that she’ll be forsaking. And who better to teach her than the master himself. *Please note that this is the third book in the “Fae Lovers” series. The series is available as individual stories or as a collection titled “To Play With The Fae – Fae Lovers Collection, Volume 1.” The collection contains “Stranded,” “Siobhan’s Desire,” and “Sister Mary Does A Faery.” READER ADVISORY: This is a novelette length erotic fantasy story (approximately 13,000 words in length) featuring hot, graphic sexual situations involving the magical Fae (also known as faeries – though most definitely not of the Tinkerbell variety). Enjoy! EXCERPT: “Aren’t you just a beauty!” Mary exclaimed, squatting to snip the plant’s tender bud. She’d only seen pictures of this particular medicinal plant; Sister Petra would be delighted at her rare find. Mary added the herb to her overflowing basket of pungent greenery then rose to gaze around the little gem of a glade that she’d stumbled upon. God’s own hand must have touched this isolated spot in the forest to have gifted it with so many useful herbs. “I’ve never seen such a divine bounty in one spot,” she said, smiling to herself in satisfaction. “Nor have I,” a male voice agreed. With a startled squawk, Mary spun around, her basket of carefully-harvested plants flying. “Where did you come from?” she exc

Sister States, Enemy States

Sister States, Enemy States

The fifteenth and sixteenth states to join the United States of America, Kentucky and Tennessee were cut from a common cloth — the rich region of the Ohio River Valley. Abounding with mountainous regions and fertile farmlands, these two slaveholding states were as closely tied to one another, both culturally and economically, as they were to the rest of the South. Yet when the Civil War erupted, Tennessee chose to secede while Kentucky remained part of the Union. The residents of Kentucky and Tennessee felt the full impact of the fighting as warring armies crossed back and forth across their borders. Due to Kentucky’s strategic location, both the Union and the Confederacy sought to control it throughout the war, while Tennessee was second only to Virginia in the number of battles fought on its soil. Additionally, loyalties in each state were closely divided between the Union and the Confederacy, making wartime governance — and personal relationships — complex. In Sister States, Enemy States: The Civil War in Kentucky and Tennessee, editors Kent T. Dollar, Larry H. Whiteaker, and W. Calvin Dickinson explore how the war affected these two crucial states, and how they helped change the course of the war. Essays by prominent Civil War historians, including Benjamin Franklin Cooling, Marion Lucas, Tracy McKenzie, and Kenneth Noe, add new depth to aspects of the war not addressed elsewhere. The collection opens by recounting each state’s debate over secession, detailing the divided loyalties in each as well as the overt conflict that simmered in East Tennessee. The editors also spotlight the war’s overlooked participants, including common soldiers, women, refugees, African American soldiers, and guerrilla combatants. The book concludes by analyzing the difficulties these states experienced in putting the war behind them. The stories of Kentucky and Tennessee are a vital part of the larger narrative of the Civil War. Sister States, Enemy States offers fresh insights …

Timbuktu-Book 4 of the Summer Sister Series

KINSEY JACKSON had finally agreed to go home after a long sabbatical in paradise. She thought she had lost her mind. In her heart, she felt unclean…damaged…from the nightmare that Adam and Derek Myers had put her through. The Summers clan (her maiden name) were survivors and although she was still frightened of crowds and most men terrified her, she had to try to go home and get back to her life. She had survived … Her baby survived. Now, it looked like her marriage would survive, too. They thought the nightmare ended when the cartel that worked with the Myers had been killed or put in jail but the corruption went so much deeper. Sabotage…had not been on their minds when Chief Marco brought his private jet to escort them home. They were going to surprise their families by showing up early unannounced. Through a treacherous storm and high winds they discovered that someone had messed with the gauges and the fuel tank. Their jet shut down and became a glider. Kinsey encouraged Marco to aim for the island ahead…it was the only thing solid for miles. The plane made a rough landing, injuring Marco and Caleb, Kinsey’s husband. It is nearly impossible to try to care for two large muscle bound men, a scared two year old daughter and an infant while the back of the jet was still in the water. KINSEY’S health was border line but she doggedly worked to get everyone ashore and treated. She set up camp in a large cavern just in time to hide from pirates that were trying to take the jet.The struggle for survival took its toll on KINSEY. Her family meant everything to her and she fought like a mama lion against pirates and more of the cartel. KINSEY claimed that she was a trouble magnet…a pervert magnet…and she was afraid for her family and friends to be around her because it wasn’t safe. One of the charter owners held KINSEY at knife point as her sister’s FBI unit ran to their rescue. His plan was the slit her throat as soon as the others got close enough. KINS knew this so she wait

Sister Megan Rice: The Outlaw Nun Turned Folk Hero

The world watched with intrigue this week as no-nukes nun Megan Rice, 84, was sent to the slammer—sentenced to 35 months in prison for breaking into a Tennessee nuclear-defense facility, spray painting it with peace signs and splashing it with human blood. When guards confronted Rice (along with her two male accomplices) back in 2012, she began singing and then offered him food. And on Tuesday, while being sentenced in federal court in Knoxville, she asked the judge for even more time behind bars. “Please have no leniency with me,” she said. “To remain in prison for the rest of my life would be the greatest gift you could give me.”

Brother And Sister Star As Billy Porter And Cyndi Lauper In Adorable Recreation Of Gap Ad

Kembe and India Howerton saw a Gap ad featuring “Kinky Boots” Tony Award winners Cyndi Lauper and Billy Porter and thought they were looking in a futuristic mirror.

Their mom, Kristen Howerton, who blogs at Rage Against The Minivan and also on The Huffington Post, helped the siblings recreate that ad for fun, and posted the image on her social media accounts. The resemblance is adorably uncanny:

Gap’s official Twitter account responded to Howerton, calling the side-by-side photo recreation “Worthy of a Tony!” According to Broadway.com, Lauper and Porter spread their show’s message of tolerance as part of Gap’s “Make Love” campaign.

And here, babies recreate classic kids’ books…
