Joan Collins Slams Her Son’s Claim That Her Late Husband Anthony Newley Was a Pedophile

Joan Collins is refuting claims made by her son Sacha Newley that her ex-husband (and Sacha’s father) Anthony Newley was allegedly a pedophile.

Never in a million years would I have been married to somebody like that,” Collins, 84, told Good Morning Britain of the late actor and singer-songwriter, whom she was was married to from 1963 to 1970 and had two children (Sacha and daughter Tara Newley).

“Categorically, I can say that it is not true, that I never saw any of that kind of behavior from Anthony,” she added, explaining that the claims have been “very” stressful for her.

Sacha, 52, made the shocking allegations about Anthony in an interview with The Sunday Times published Nov. 26. “He was a paedophile,” Sasha said. “My father was drawn to youthfulness; he thought innocence was an aphrodisiac. That was his sexual proclivity and it’s a very dangerous, destructive thing.”

Now a painter preparing to release a memoir focused on growing up in Hollywood titled Unaccompanied Minor, Sasha went on to claim that he regularly witnessed sex as a child.  “It was Hollywood and all the people were beautiful and gorgeous, wafting in and out of parties. My father put sex front and center. He exposed me to all of that — it was absolutely inappropriate,” Sasha claimed.

One example Sasha gave to back up his claims was his Anthony’s 1969 X-rated musical film Can Heironymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?, which starred Anthony as Heironymus Merkin — an internationally known singer who recounts his promiscuous relationships with adolescent Mercy Humppe (Playboy playmate Connie Kreski) in front of his wife and two toddlers (played by Collins, Sacha and Tara).

RELATED VIDEO: Why Anthony Rapp Revealed Kevin Spacey’s Alleged Sexual Advances: ‘I Wanted to Shine a Light’

“ a confession of pedophilia,” Sacha told The Times, comparing his father to director Roman Polanski and his alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in 1977. “Mercy Humppe is the ‘perfect childlover’ — an underage girl. didn’t peg her age exactly, but it falls within the Polanski thing.”

The film was so damaging, Sacha claimed it lead to his parent’s messy divorce the following year. “My mother was destroyed by that film: it was the end of their marriage,” Sacha said. “My father was a great, flawed talent. He was a classic sex addict.”

On Good Morning Britain, Collins said that Sacha was off in his interpretation of his father, who died in 1999 at age 67 following a battle with cancer.

“I think that Sacha’s being extremely naive and not really knowing the meaning of that word because what Tony admittedly was, is he loved young women and young women of 17, 18, 19 years old,” she said, The Independent reported. “Not children by any means.”

“As far as I’m concerned this is absolutely untrue,” she added in a statement on Sunday, The Independent reported.

Collins’ daughter Tara, 54, also spoke out against Sacha’s claims.  “I was shocked by my brother’s comments,” she said in a statement, The Independent reported. “From my end, I don’t recognize the man he is describing. I had an incredibly close relationship with my father and am deeply upset by these false allegations.”

WATCH: Kim Zolciak-Biermann Breaks Down Recounting Son’s Terrifying Dog Bite: ‘I Was Literally Shaking’

“I was literally shaking.”

That’s how Kim Zolciak-Biermann describes the moment she learned about the frightening dog bite that nearly blinded her son.

The 39-year-old mother of six documents the aftermaths of Kash’s bite on Friday’s episode of her Bravo reality series Don’t Be Tardy, and PEOPLE has the exclusive first look.

Kim retells the story of what happened as she and husband Kroy Biermann drive Kash to one of his follow-up doctor appointments, just days after the April 22 attack.

“Before you know it, we’re walking to the ,” Kim says, breaking down in tears. “I knew the severity of it when my husband had tears streaming down his face. And I was like, ‘Kroy, just tell me.’ And he was like, ‘It’s going to be fine. It’s just going to be fine.’ And then they said, ‘He’s got to go to surgery right now.’ ”

Kroy was equally emotional, crying when he recalled what it was like while Kash was in surgery.

“I sat there not knowing whether my son was going to be able to see for probably about seven hours,” he says of Kash, who was ultimately in the hospital for four days, the scratch a millimeter away from his eye, and has now nearly fully recovered. “So, that news came — that was a very uplifting moment. To know that no matter what, he’s still going to have the same quality of life that he had before he got bit.”

“He’s got the best daddy ever,” Kim gushes of Kroy. “He woke up and the first thing he did was reach for his daddy’s hand.

RELATED: Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Son Kash’s Dog Attack Drama: A Timeline

On Wednesday, Kim and Kroy revealed exclusively to PEOPLE the details of Kash’s bite — including the fact that their dog Sinn was the one who bit Kash. The two were playing outside alongside the Biermanns’ other son KJ, 6, when Kroy was using a leaf blower to clean the yard and a nervous Sinn nipped at Kash.

Looking back on it to PEOPLE, Kroy says he’s still coming to terms with what happened. “It’s a process every day,” Kroy explains. “Being right there, it was just wrong place, wrong time, wrong circumstances. The perfect storm. Had one thing been different, it wouldn’t have happened. You try to say, ‘What would I have done differently?’ And there are a lot of things. now, but you can’t change any of it. You just have to learn from it and grow from it.”

RELATED VIDEO: Inside Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann’s Tough Decision to Keep the Dog Who Bit Their Son

The decision to keep Sinn didn’t come easy. The Biermanns had rescued Sinn, husky-boxer mix, as a puppy three years earlier.

“I hated Sinn,” Kroy said. “I genuinely felt a deep rage for what he had done to my son. … I love my dog, and nothing like this had ever happened to me before. But it’s my son. I don’t love anything more than my flesh and blood. I thought, ‘I don’t want to see the dog — he doesn’t get a second chance.”

But it was Kash’s “incredible bond” with Sinn and a hope to prevent him from having phobias that led to their final decision to keep him.  “If Kash ever looked at me and said that he didn’t want to be around Sinn or showed any hesitation, then he wouldn’t be here,” Kim stressed. “We love Sinn, he’s part of our family, but our children will always come first without a doubt.”

For more on Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann, pick up this week’s issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands now.

Now back in the home with a new routine — including a locked crate, private fenced in dog run, and constant supervision — the Biermanns are sharing their story in the hopes that dog owners know the signs to look out for if their pets are being aggressive.

“We’ve taught our kids, no matter how nice dogs are, they are capable of anything and cannot communicate to us in another way than through action — be it barking, growling, biting, scratching, or running away,” Kroy says. “A child sees flurry, fluffy, fun, slobbery … they don’t see danger. And we didn’t either, as adults who had always owned dogs but never gone through something like this. But you have to understand those triggers. Whether it’s loud noise, their tail being pulled, whatever it is, it should be on the forefront of everybody’s mind. Not as fear, but just awareness.”

William H. Macy on Shameless Son’s Arrest for Alleged DUI: ‘Hollywood Is Tough on Kids’

William H. Macy is a concerned father — on- and off-screen.

The Shameless actor recently spoke out about his TV son Ethan Cutkosky’s arrest for an alleged DUI, acknowledging that growing up in the spotlight can be challenging for young actors.

“I love those guys,” he told TMZ of the Showtime series’ Gallagher brood, who struggle to raise themselves and deal with their alcoholic father, played by Macy.

“I worry about them,” he added. “A young person growing up as an actor — Hollywood is tough on kids.”

Of 18-year-old Cutkosky, who plays Carl Gallagher, Macy, 67, said he’s a “great guy.”

Cutkosky was arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles for allegedly driving under the influence, according to multiple reports.

Burbank police pulled Cutkosky’s vehicle over after it was allegedly spotted straddling traffic lines, the Associated Press reported. He was later arrested, with blood-alcohol test still pending.

Cutkosky, who was reportedly driving an orange BMW, was given a field sobriety test during the pull-over, TMZ reported. Sources told the outlet that Cutkosky allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana that night.

According to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records obtained by PEOPLE, Cutkosky was released on a $ 5,000 bail by Thursday morning. He was charged with a misdemeanor but no further information on his charges was available.

Reps for Cutkosky did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment, and the Los Angeles Police Department would not comment further.

See the Terrifying Moment Kim Zolciak-Biermann Learned About Her Son’s Dog Attack

It’s every parents’ nightmare, and watching Kim Zolciak-Biermann experience it is heartbreaking.

In April, the mother of six revealed her 5-year-old son Kash was hospitalized and in danger of losing sight in his left eye after being mauled by a dog.

Four months and multiple surgeries later, the young boy is healthy and healed — even getting a pit bull puppy last week for his birthday. But watching back the footage of the moment Kim learned of the attack will send shivers down the spines of Bravo viewers everywhere.

The moment comes in the season 6 trailer of Don’t Be Tardy… — Bravo’s hit reality series that follows the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, her husband Kroy Biermann and their six children as they navigate family life.

“We got to go to the hospital!,” Kim screams in the clip, which PEOPLE is premiering exclusively — the Biermanns’ home security footage capturing Kash wrapped in his mother’s arms as she races through their house for the car.

“Kroy, there’s a major problem!” she yells, later shouting in the hospital, “Somebody better take care of my son!”

It’s a tough scene, but just some of the drama coming for viewers this season.

Daughters Brielle, 20, and Ariana, 15 have their own blow-ups — Brielle fighting with her father over wanting to move in with baseball player boyfriend Michael Kopech. “You now you Kroy is, he’s f—— crazy,” Brielle tells her 21-year-old beau. “I’m 20, they don’t control what I can do.”

Kroy seems to think otherwise, telling Brielle, “You don’t need to be moving in with Michael. I’m done playing your game.”

Ariana is in trouble too after being caught on security cameras sneaking out of the house. “We have to be able to trust you,” Kroy tells her as she tears up. “I don’t know how you’re going to earn that back.”

If that weren’t enough, things get really tense when Brielle attempts to reconnect with Kim’s estranged parents, whom she hasn’t seen in six years. “I don’t like hating these people,” she says.

There will be happy moments too, of course. Chef Tracey is still cooking up amusing antics while getting her house remodeled thanks to the Biermanns.

And showing they’re forever in love, Kim and Kroy decide to renew their vows on a tropical vacation with the whole family, including KJ, 6, and twins Kaia and Kane, 3.

“From laughter to tears, I can honestly say that I’ve loved you every step of the way,” Kroy says in his vows.

Don’t Be Tardy…‘s double episode season 6 premiere airs Oct. 6 (8 p.m. ET) on Bravo.

Ovadia & Sons Men’s Spring 2018

Continuing the “narrative of last season,” Ovadia & Sons once again fueled a sporty lifestyle in its spring collection.
The trend-conscious lineup showcased an array of silk souvenir jackets, retro Fifties rayon shirts and geeky-cool pastel-colored suits.
“All the cool kids in school wore baseball jackets, but we couldn’t afford one,” said Shimon Ovadia, who designs the line with his brother Ariel. “So we’re doing them now.”
The less-predictable print that appeared on a coach’s jacket, a pop-over and a track pant was the first peek at a capsule with Interesni Kazki artists from the Ukraine that the twins discovered in their travels.
Their affinity for animal prints worked hand-in-hand with the tribal references they used to update their signature tracksuits.
The jewel tones employed in key pieces such as car coats and track pants added a sense of sophistication to the casual lineup. And the use of cross-body bags and bucket hats served as a reminder that the Ovadia brothers have once again embraced the trends of the season and brought their own twist to it.

North Carolina Pastor and Wife Who Lost Newborn and Toddler Sons in Tragic Accident Welcome Twins

A North Carolina pastor and his wife who lost their two sons in a tragic accident on the way home from a family wedding in 2015 welcomed twins Monday.

Hadley and Gentry Eddings, a pastor at Forest Hills Church in Charlotte, named the twin boys Isaiah Hobbs and Amos Reed in honor of their older brothers.

The couple was in a caravan with family members on their way home from Wilmington to Charlotte during Memorial Day weekend in 2015 when a truck driver slammed into them, killing their 2-year old son Dobbs and sending Hadley, who was 37 weeks pregnant, into labor.

Hadley, a teacher at a church, ended up having an emergency C-section, but the baby boy — whom they named Reed — died just two days later.

In January, the couple announced the happy news that they were expecting twins.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Hadley said at the time, “The Lord has not left us for one second in our grief of losing our two boys almost two years ago. God is a redeemer and a restorer! God blesses us beyond what we deserve or could ever imagine.

“We are excited that Dobbs and Reed are going to be big brothers to twins! We are so thankful for our family and so many friends who have prayed for us and cheered us on our way. We’re rejoicing, and thank Jesus for these two precious little ones!”

The couple made headlines when they publicly forgave the driver who caused the wreck.

Gentry, who suffered minor injuries in the crash, spoke to mourners at the time of the accident, saying he and his wife had forgiven the truck driver and were relying on their faith to get through such a difficult time.

Saint Laurie Changes Name to Kozinn + Sons

Goliath won out in the end.
Saint Laurie, a third-generation New York City-based tailor, has sold its name to Yves Saint Laurent and changed the name of its business to Kozinn + Sons Merchant Tailors.
Andrew Kozinn, whose grandfather Samuel founded the company in 1913, said his family has been “involved in litigation” with Yves Saint Laurent on and off since the Seventies. But when the company’s former creative director Hedi Slimane decided to drop the Yves from the name and rebrand the collection Saint Laurent Paris in 2012, Kozinn said he sued again.
But the cost of “modern-day litigation,” and battling a massive corporation like Saint Laurent proved too “arduous” for the small Saint Laurie business and Kozinn opted to “sell the trademark to them.”
The deal was quietly cut last year, he said, but under the terms of the sale, Saint Laurie had a year to officially change its name.
Now Kozinn has sent a letter to the Saint Laurie customers revealing the name change and ensuring them of “my family’s continuing pledge to provide quality, service and value to you.”
The letter explained that there was ongoing “confusion” between Saint Laurie and Saint Laurent, especially with online searches, and “the two companies negotiated

Ovadia & Sons Men’s Fall 2017

A vintage soccer photo on the back of the show notes was the first hint that the Ovadia & Sons fall collection was more personal than usual.
“It was inspired by our father who was in the army in Israel, which was mandatory,” said Shimon Ovadia, who designs the collection with his brother Ariel. “He was a certified athlete” who was an award-winning soccer player during his years in the service.
As a result, the collection showcased a balance between military uniforms and soccer references.
A camouflage shearling-lined parka paired with a zip-up red tracksuit was one of the best examples of the blending of the two cultures.
Deconstructed details — one of the trademarks of the brand — also appeared in elongated knits, giving them an appealing worn-in look.
What was especially strong was an array of youthful outerwear pieces such as a shearling biker jacket, a split-hood nylon parka in bright orange and a varsity jacket with Hebrew lettering and their father’s jersey number — 5 — on the back.
With this solid effort, the Ovadia brothers show how far they’ve come from their roots in sartorial tailored clothing to become a go-to brand for the cool, younger generation.
Dad would be proud.

Alec Baldwin and Laurie Metcalf in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons at Guild Hall

The first-rate revival of Arthur Miller’s tragedy All My Sons at Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater is a reason to celebrate theater out east. With a cast led by Alec Baldwin and Laurie Metcalf, under Stephen Hamilton’s direction, the drama moves quickly through the moral dilemma of an American family post-World War II. The sons, one presumed dead, one alive, ask for accountability, a heavy load for Joe Keller — that’s Alec Baldwin, his baggy trousers skimming an ample belly held up by suspenders — who is boss, businessman, and bully. When son Chris (Ryan Eggold) asks the big questions about his possible role in the deaths of 21 fighter pilots and the ruin of his partner’s family, Joe defends himself. He’s got a wife, Kate, submissive, damaged, but spiritual, performed by the formidable Metcalf, and a family to support, a good-enough reason to risk sending out faulty airplane parts from his factory — and, in fact, to lie. To his sons, Chris and Larry, his ordinariness is crushing, tragic — he was Father, better than this moral slide. They could accept no less in Miller’s classic drama.

Much rests on Alec Baldwin’s performance. While it takes a beat to get over that this is Alec Baldwin, he is a fine ensemble player, strutting and throwing his weight around, and attentive to everyone scene to scene. He had this kind of pivotal place in Orphans on Broadway a few seasons ago, allowing the actors Ben Foster and Tom Sturridge to shine. Joe’s volatility with Kate, and with Chris, is powerhouse, but they give it back, as does Annie Deever (Caitlin McGee), Larry’s one-time girl, now back for a visit with some revelations of her own.

The Kellers live in a fine house, Michael Carnahan’s set showing an inventive inside staircase and an outside view on the porch, with trees in the front yard. Also noteworthy are Sebastian Paczynski’s lighting and Amy Ritchings’ costumes, especially when Annie returns home in a sundress that instantly shows the sophistication she’s picked up in her move to New York City. David M. Brandenburg’s original music and sound design is memorable, befitting a play that requires that characters “figure it out, if you want to live.”

As Duggar Dad Ran On A Political Platform Saying Rape And Incest Merited Capital Punishment, He Was Covering Up His Son’s Actions

In 2002, Jim Bob Duggar argued that rape and incest merited the death penalty. But that same year, one of his own sons reportedly committed incest, and Duggar allegedly covered it up.

While running for U.S. Senate in Arkansas, the patriarch of the Duggar clan — the family that is the central focus of the TLC reality TV show “19 Kids And Counting” — said that rape and incest should be punishable by death. Yet during his run, he reportedly knew that one of his sons, Josh, had molested one of his daughters.

Gawker Media dug up a cached version of Duggar’s political platform from the 2002 Republican primaries.

When asked if he believed abortion should be legal if a woman had been raped, Duggar said, “If a woman is raped, the rapist should be executed instead of the innocent unborn baby. … Rape and incest represent heinous crimes and as such should be treated as capital crimes.”

Duggar lost the primary election in May 2002 to the incumbent, Sen. Tim Hutchinson.

While Duggar was running on a platform that included this position about rape, the first allegations that Josh had molested a child surfaced. According to In Touch Weekly, which broke the story, a female minor told Duggar in March 2002 that Josh, who was 14 at the time, had been sexually touching her as she slept. Josh admitted as much to his parents in July 2002.

A police report suggests that the first victim who came forward lived in the same home as Josh. In March 2003, more minors accused Josh of touching their breasts and genitals. The police report suggests that four of the five total victims were Josh’s sisters.

Duggar did not alert authorities. He reportedly did not punish his son at all, except to send him to live and work with a family friend for a while.

When Josh returned, his father allegedly took him to speak with Arkansas State Trooper Jim Hutchens, who gave the boy a “very stern talk.” According to In Touch, Hutchens is now serving 56 years in jail for child pornography.

The authorities first heard about the allegations in 2006, when an anonymous woman contacted “The Oprah Winfrey Show” with details of the accusations. The police launched an investigation, and In Touch reports five victims confirmed that Josh had touched their breasts and genitals.

Reportedly, the police did not press charges because the statute of limitations had expired.

The Duggar family could not be reached for comment. TLC did not respond to a request for comment.

Author Ann Rule Was Abused, Ripped Off By Her Sons, Cops Say

Bestselling true crime author Ann Rule was bilked out of more than $ 100,000 by two of her sons, one of whom demanded money while she “cowered in her wheelchair,” authorities said.

Michael Rule, 51, has been charged with theft in the first degree and forgery, for allegedly writing himself $ 103,628 in checks from his mother’s bank account, according to charging documents. Andrew Rule, 54, was accused of coercing his mother into giving him $ 23,327 and was charged with first-degree theft. Both are free on their own recognizance awaiting trial.

Ann Rule, 84, the author of 30 New York Times bestsellers, has been in declining health since an October 2013 fall that resulted in a broken hip, according to court documents provided to The Huffington Post by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Washington state. She “is on oxygen at all times,” suffers from periods of “extreme confusion” and is “vulnerable to undue influence,” the documents say.

“She is unable to perform many activities of daily living without assistance,” the court documents state.

Her sons began taking advantage of her weakness last year, according to prosecutors.

Authorities were alerted on March 2, when Rule’s son-in-law, Glen Scorr, told the prosecutor’s office he suspected his mother-in-law was being financially exploited by her two sons.

A joint investigation by the King County Sheriff’s Office and the Normandy Park Police Department revealed that four of Ann Rule’s children receive an estimated $ 25,000 monthly salary through her corporation, Rule Enterprises LLC, for “assigned responsibilities.”

Michael Rule, who lives on a property adjoining his mother’s Normandy Park home, allegedly pressured her into providing him with funds above his monthly salary. He forged her signature on checks from March 2014 to February 2015, authorities said.

Michael Rule’s pressure on his mother included verbal abuse, authorities said. He would “yell at his mother demanding money as she cowered in her wheelchair,” the court documents allege. Once, he became so angry that he “screamed at her and threw a cellphone across the room, smashing it to pieces,” according to the documents.

Police said Ann Rule told investigators that “Mike often goes into rages, where he throws things across the room and sweeps a counter clean with his arm.” One of Ann Rule’s caregivers quit because she was “afraid of Mike and his volatile temper,” the documents say.

Andrew Rule also was aggressive in his pursuit of his mother’s money during 2014, authorities said.

“Andy would pester and bully Ann relentlessly for money, sometimes threatening suicide, sometimes trying to make her feel guilty, sometimes screaming obscenities at her, until she would finally give in and write him a check,” the court documents allege.

Ann Rule was granted a protection order against Andrew Rule in January. He was arrested and charged with violating the order on March 27, police said.

While in police custody, Andrew Rule told officers he “has battled drug and gambling addictions for years and that he used the money provided to him by his mother on gambling and strip clubs,” the court documents state.

Ann Rule declined to comment on the allegations against her children. Her books include The Stranger Beside Me, about the serial killer Ted Bundy.

Neither Michael Rule nor Andrew Rule were available for comment on Tuesday. During an interview with KIRO-TV of Seattle, Andrew Rule denied wrongdoing.

“I have never in my life, as God as my witness, stolen anything whatsoever from my mom,” he told the station. “Basically I used to have a gambling problem but I don’t anymore and I have absolutely no idea why I was pulled in at the same time my brother was,” Rule continued.

Dan Donohoe, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office, told HuffPost the brothers are scheduled to be arraigned on April 30.

How This Widow Is Keeping Her Husband’s Memory Alive For Their Sons (VIDEO)

During the final season of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Oprah and her team took the show — and one very lucky studio audience — to Australia for the adventure of a lifetime. There was an unprecedented look inside sacred caves, an encounter with some frisky koalas, Hugh Jackman on a zip line… and one particularly unforgettable Aussie couple.

Kristian and Rachel Anderson were college sweethearts living in a suburb of Sydney with their two young boys, Cody and Jakob. Not long before “The Oprah Show” arrived in Australia, Kristian had been diagnosed with liver and bowel cancer, and was literally in the fight of his life. Touched by the couple’s story (which gained attention after Kristian posted a loving video tribute to his wife on YouTube), Oprah had them join her for an episode at the Sydney Opera House and gave them a special surprise.

“We wanted them to spend every ounce of their energy being together and focused on getting well,” Oprah told the Opera House audience, before turning toward the couple. “You shouldn’t worry about the bills… because you will be getting a check for a quarter of a million dollars.”

Sadly, a year after that show, Kristian lost his battle with cancer at age 36. Now, almost three years after his death, Rachel tells “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” how she and their sons have been coping.

“Since we were on ‘The Oprah Show,’ life is… it’s pretty much turned upside down for us,” Rachel says. “In sad ways and good ways.”

With the $ 250,000 gift, the Andersons felt a great sense of relief and gratitude to be able to spend some incredible quality time together. “We booked a Disney cruise, and went to Disney World and Disney Land,” Rachel says, smiling. “[We] had the most magical time as a family.”

The Andersons made the most of their time together, and after Kristian passed, Rachel was devastated. “It was like living in a black hole,” she says quietly. “I remember waking up the first morning after he died. I remember lying there and seeing his wardrobe open and his clothes all there. Just realizing that was it. That was all that we had left. He was gone.”

In the midst of her grief, Rachel focused on her children, though she often struggled when either of her boys reached a childhood milestone. “About two weeks after [Kristian] died, Cody lost his first tooth and I just remember being devastated that Kristian had missed that,” she says. “It was horrible.”

Because Cody and Jakob were young when their father died, Rachel has remained fiercely dedicated to keeping Kristian’s memory alive. “I work very hard to make sure that he’s part of our day, still,” she says.

It’s something Kristian gave thought to as well. Just after he was diagnosed, Kristian started a blog that is now filled with reflections, stories, triumphs and fears. “It was one of his dying wishes that we would get his blog published so that we had something tangible for the children to have growing up,” Rachel says, holding up a book. “I now have this that the boys can sit down and read, and they can find out exactly how Daddy felt at every, single point in his journey.”

As for Rachel, the mother of two has begun a new chapter in her own journey. During an appearance she made on New Zealand television discussing the book, a man named Richard saw her and reached out. The two began communicating and, eventually, dating.

“He turned out to be the most incredible man,” Rachel says. “In January of this year, we got married. He has a daughter that’s in between the ages of my children, so between us, we have a 5-year-old, a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old.”

Cody and Jakob enjoy their stepdad. “The boys think the world of Richard. He’s a big kid, really,” Rachel says. “He’s just fantastic.”

As the children continue to grow and change each day, Rachel believes Kristian is proud and happy to see their lives continue with love and joy. “I honestly do think that Kristian is watching over us,” she says. “I honestly do think he gets these windows into our lives and gets to see what’s happening. [He’s] taking care of us.”

“Oprah: Where Are They Now?” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.

Dad Captures Beautiful Photos Of Son’s Childhood After Almost Losing Him

One morning in 2013, dad Adrian Murray and his wife Michelle experienced every parent’s nightmare. They woke up to find their 10-month-old son Emerson unresponsive in his crib.

The parents rushed their baby to the hospital, where he remained for three days. After severals rounds of tests, doctors still could not provide an answer as to what exactly was wrong with Emerson. A few days later, the Murrays brought their son back to the hospital after they found him unresponsive again. The baby was put on anti-seizure medication.

Emerson’s ordeal was an eye-opening experience for his father Adrian, who was inspired to take photographs of his son’s childhood. “I felt like life goes by in an instant and that I needed to try and capture those moments of wonder,” he told The Huffington Post in an email.

Murray’s photos of Emerson depict the little boy in moments of pure innocence and joy. Drawing inspiration from some of his own favorite childhood stories like Winnie the Pooh, Murray’s photos “revolve around the idea of adventure and discovery,” he explained.

“Our kids are bombarded by digital media, lights, and plastic. I wanted something closer to what child is all about, wonder and discovery,” Murray added. “That’s why we try to go to a park, or explore nature as often as we can.”

Today, 2-year-old Emerson is in good health and no longer needs to take anti-seizure meds. This past February, the toddler became a big brother to “his partner in crime” Greyson.

The below images are just a sample of Adrian Murray’s beautiful photos of his happy little boys on adventures. You can view more on his photography site, Facebook page, and 500px profile.

Dear Mom: My Son’s Hilarious Summer Camp Letter

2014-06-07-Campphoto.jpg

Last year my 8-year-old son went to summer camp. It was the first time he had been away from home for more than a night. An hour after he left, I missed him. By the time I went to bed, I found myself wandering into his bedroom, just to feel close to him. As the days passed, I wrote to him daily. Each hour dragged as I’d wait for the mailman, hoping and praying for just one letter from him. By that point I missed him so much, I began to imagine what he might write to me. I fantasized I’d receive a letter something like this:

Dear Mom,

Thank you so much for letting me go to camp. I have learned so many cool things, like how to take a fish off the hook, tie sailing knots, and even how to groom a horse. Thanks for packing the sunscreen. I’ve been out on the lake a lot, so it has really come in handy. You sure think of everything! Since it’s been so hot, I’ve been drinking tons of water! See? I really listen to all your good advice.

The other boys here are really smart and nice. I’m making some lifelong friends I will cherish forever. We’ve had fun learning camp songs, playing cards, and catching frogs in our free time. During quiet time, I read the book you sent along. What a great selection! And just because you’re my mom, I made a special gift for you in arts and crafts!

I’m trying a lot of new foods, just like you suggested. You were right, the oatmeal at breakfast really isn’t bad when I add raisins. And don’t worry, Mom, I’ve been using all the manners you’ve taught me over the years.

We are camping under the stars tonight. I hope to see fireflies.

I love you,

W

xxoo

P.S. Tell my brothers I miss them!

Yesterday I received a letter. It’s just slightly different from what I imagined:

This year I’m sending a whole book of stamps. I can’t wait for more letters!
