Kevin Spacey Competes With Gordon Ramsay At Cursing, And Surprisingly Wins

British chef Gordon Ramsay isn’t known to mince his words.

But even he seemed slightly shocked by “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey’s liberal use of curse words in a promo clip for his new show.

In a video that’s fast going viral, Spacey begins by talking about his upcoming one-man play “Clarence Darrow.” But the interview soon descends into an amusing swearing contest, with Spacey eventually gaining the upper hand.

“Damn, I’ve been out fucked,” jokes Ramsay at the end.

Check out the clip above, and see the full interview when “The F Word” premieres on Fox on May 31.

Here’s Some Surprisingly Positive News About Marriage In The U.S.

Here’s some heartening news about marriage: The U.S. divorce rate fell for the third consecutive year in 2015, dropping to the lowest it’s been in 40 years, according to a report based on Census data released Thursday.

The divorce rate ― represented as the number of divorces per 1,000 married women aged 15 and older ― was 16.9 divorces per 1,000 married women in 2015, a slight dip from the divorce rate of 17.6 in 2014. The rate is down 25 percent from 1980, according to the report, which was released by Bowling Green State University’s National Center for Marriage and Family Research.

“We may have reached the low point in the decline in marriage,” Susan L. Brown, a co-director at the center, told The Huffington Post. “Over the past few years, there has not been a further retreat from marriage among the US population.”

What’s more, marriage rates remain stable, with 32.3 marriages for every 1,000 unmarried women, up from 31.9 in 2014.

Though divorce rates have fallen among young people (35 and under), they’ve increased for middle-aged and older people, Brown said.

“Many of these Baby Boomers experienced the divorce revolution of the 1970s as young adults and then got remarried,” she told HuffPost. “The gray divorce rate for those in a remarriage is 2.5 times higher than for those in a first marriage.”

Meanwhile, younger generations are marrying later in life and being more selective in the process of finding a partner, she said.

“Young adults who get married tend to do so at later ages and they enjoy greater economic resources and they’re more likely to be college educated than their counterparts a generation ago,” she said. “Both of these factors are protective against divorce.”

Of course, the divorce rate varies by state: Washington, D.C. has the highest divorce rate, with nearly 30 marriages per 1,000 ending in divorce, followed by Wyoming (27.9), Nevada (25.7) and Arkansas (25.3)

Hawaii has the lowest divorce rate, with only 11 marriages per 1,000 ending in divorce, followed by Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Delaware, which were all under 13.

A Two-Year-Old’s Surprisingly Satisfying Song Requests, From Rob Base To The Replacements

Before you have children, you hear a lot of horror stories, mostly from people who raised a kid forty years ago. There’s the standard stuff about never sleeping again, eating discarded, unappreciated food, and watching your home and possessions subject to random destruction and vandalism.

But the scariest thing for a music fan (and writer like myself) was the prospect of being inundated with corny kids’ songs ad nauseam.

Maybe my priorities were out of order but for a while there, it did seem as though I might lose my mind. Raffi rules and the Wiggles mean well but there’s only so much a man can take before he wants to take a trip to Belize. But then something special happened with my boy.

He turned into a complete sponge who wants to experience and appreciate everything we do. (Our most recent and likely fleeting victory has found him wanting to watch “Fantastic Mr. Fox” every day instead of “Team Umi Zoomi.”)

We’ve almost always sung to our son and one day early in his life, during our regular rotation of “Baby Beluga” and the ABCs, I snuck in Bob Dylan’s “The Man in Me.” I remember him staring at me, captivated by the flurry of new words housed in this foreign melody. When I finished singing the last “la la las,” he said nothing.

And then, quietly, “Again.”

Ever since, I’ve fearlessly sung or played my boy almost whatever was on my mind and when something elicits a coveted “Again,” he hears it again and again. The following is a list of songs my two-and-a-half-year-old requests the most.

In virtually every case, we’ve discovered that he knows all of the words and will just randomly begin singing each one when the mood strikes. There are some dark, lusty songs here but everything seems fun and innocent when rendered by a toddler.
