You Have to See Tina Fey’s Beauty Evolution

Believe it or not, there was a time before Tina Fey was the glossy-haired, Golden Globe–winning multihyphenate we see on the red carpet today. You know, back when celebs didn’t have 24/7 stylists, and, in Fey’s case, when flipped-out waves and colorful eye shadow dominated her style (hey, we’ve been there, too). To save you the trouble of Googling these early ’00s gems, we’ve rounded up our 12 favorite Fey looks through the years.

Tina Fey Parodies NPR In Flawless Vintage Improv Sketch

As though we needed yet another reminder of Tina Fey’s pre-“Saturday Night Live”/”Mean Girls”/”30 Rock” comedic genius, Chicago’s Second City has us covered once again.

This week, the comedy school where Fey and so many other greats got their starts released freshly unearthed footage of Fey, along with Rachel Dratch, Scott Adsit and others, hilariously spoofing National Public Radio in an incredible 1997 clip.

Prompted by the Second City audience’s suggestion of “bananas!” as the troupe’s subject matter, Fey plays the role of an NPR host leading a segment “exploring the banana, its place in religion and history and art, its resonance in our lives” on a segment of the fictional, perfectly titled “Urban Wind” program.

The incredible segment goes on for 15 minutes, never straying from NPR’s signature sincere-and-scholarly, soft-spoken tone. Dratch’s turn as a University of Chicago professor of creative writing, diarist and jewelry maker living in “a barn house in Wisconsin” is particularly on point. Did we detect a note of “Schweddy Balls” in there?

Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ Welcomed By Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey & Basically Everyone Else

For Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” inauguration, over a dozen A-list celebrities showed up to pay homage to the newly minted host. And pay homage they did, with each giving him $ 100 — the sum that Fallon’s friends wagered that he would never host “The Tonight Show.”

Apparently, he had quite a number of “friends” who made that bet.

Robert De Niro threw down a bill, followed by a parade of celebrities, including of Fallon’s former Weekend Update co-anchor Tina Fey, Joe Namath, Rudy Giuliani, Mariah Carey, Tracy Morgan, Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian, Seth Rogen, Lindsay Lohan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mike Tyson, Lady Gaga and finally Fallon’s former Best Friend Forever For Six Months — and now timeslot rival — Stephen Colbert.

“Welcome to 11:30, bitch!” Colbert exclaimed after dumping a pile of coins on Fallon’s desk. Watch the video above.

Move Over Tina And Amy: The Stars Of ‘Camp Takota’ Are Here To Stay

If Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are Hollywood’s current reigning funny female friendship, we think it’s safe to say that YouTube stars Hannah Hart, Grace Helbig, and Mamrie Hart are the Internet’s heirs apparent.

All three are endlessly hilarious on their individual channels, but together they are an absolute online video tour de force.

Hart, Helbig and Hart teamed up recently to create the feature film called “Camp Takota,” a movie about a woman who returns to sleep-away camp and old friends after many years. Unsurprisingly, hilarity and hijinks ensue, and the chemistry between the three is clearly evident from the recently released trailer, which is above.

“We’ve synched up in more ways than just our periods,” Helbig told The Daily Dot about her friendship with Hannah Hart. “We’ll pick each other up and find out that we’re wearing the same outfits. It’s horrible.”

Female friendships this strong deserve to be celebrated, and so it’s fitting that the film is scheduled for a Valentine’s Day release.

The Gospel Of Parenthood, According To Tina And Amy

Put down the parenting books, stop Googling, hang up with your mom. Want to know what being a mom (or dad) is really like? Here are 16 undeniable facts about life as a parent, in the words of Golden Globe hosts and goddesses of the universe, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

“I never get to go to movies, because I’m a mom.” — Tina

“Sleep at this point is just a concept, something I’m looking forward to investigating in the future.” — Amy

“You’re just like a human napkin for kids, like, they just wipe their face on you and stuff.”– Tina

“When you’re a twerking mother, balance is really important because you don’t want to go too low and blow out your butt and bust your knee.” — Amy

“It is less dangerous to draw a cartoon of Allah French-kissing Uncle Sam — which, let me make it very clear, I have not done — than it is to speak honestly about [working moms].” — Tina

“There’s a lot of peeing.” — Amy

“I had to get back to work. NBC has me under contract. The baby and I only have a verbal agreement.” — Tina

“Sometimes I forget where I’m driving them to. I do just stop in the middle of road and go, ‘Where are we going? How are we in this car? Who am I dropping off? and Where are we going?’ That happens a lot. It’s a lot of forgetful stuff that every mother has to deal with.” — Amy

“Whatever you do breastfeeding-wise — great. Great. Whatever.” — Tina

“Always remember where you put your kid. Don’t let your kid drive until their feet can reach the pedals. Use the right size diapers… for yourself. And, when in doubt, make funny faces.” — Amy

“Ah, babies! They’re more than just adorable little creatures on whom you can blame your farts.” — Tina

“Sometimes you need to straight up yell at them.” — Amy

“It’s so funny because they’re not strong enough to kill you. And they want to kill you so bad! They can’t kill you. Not yet. Try again in a couple years.” — Tina

“When you’re a stay-at-home mother you have to pretend it’s really boring, but it’s not. It’s enriching and fulfilling, and an amazing experience. And then when you’re a working mother you have to pretend that you feel guilty all day long.” — Amy

“You go through big chunks of time where you’re just thinking, ‘This is impossible — oh, this is impossible.’ And then you just keep going and keep going, and you sort of do the impossible.” — Tina

And for the grand finale: an excerpt from Tina Fey’s “A Mother’s Prayer for Her Daughter”

And when she one day turns on me and calls me a Bitch in front of Hollister,
Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends,
For I will not have that Shit. I will not have it.

Are Kat Dennings And Beth Behrs The New Tina Fey And Amy Poehler?

Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, the stars of the CBS sitcom “Two Broke Girls,” are looking more and more like they might become the next great awards-show duo, following in the footsteps of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Dennings and Behrs will host this year’s People’s Choice Awards, but can they reach the bar that Fey and Poehler have set with the Golden Globes? It looks like Behrs is taking Fey and Poehler as inspiration. “I saw a promo for Amy [Poehler] and Tina [Fey] where they were singing at a piano,” she told People Magazine. “I just think they’re so genius. We could learn a lot from them. They’re so funny.”

The “Two Broke Girls” co-stars have got some big shoes to fill if they’re going to become the next Tina and Amy, but they’re on the right track. Check out how they’re starting to look a lot our favorite awards emcees.

Tina and Amy made their mark acting together …
