Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Is Having Trouble Accepting That ‘Baywatch’ Is A Bad Movie

When one of the biggest laughs in your movie revolves around the supposed hilarity of Zac Efron fondling a dead man’s scrotum, it’s probably a good move to check your outrage over its critical reception.

If you’ve somehow been able to remain ignorant to its relentless marketing campaign (seriously, how?), “Baywatch” hits theaters Friday and critics are already savaging the movie with a 19 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Some have compared watching the reboot to sitting in a wet bathing suit for a prolonged period, while others have conceded it’s stupidly entertaining at best.

The movie’s star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, however, is on a one man social media mission to convince the world that “Baywatch” isn’t as bad as everyone’s saying it is. Cue the actor launching into an almost Trumpian tweetstorm on Thursday about how out of touch the media is with what the the public wants.

He kicked it off by reminding us all of the “extremely high scores” from fans.

Then he posted a story about the critics score on Rotten Tomatoes rising from its 13 percent to a slightly less embarrassing 18 percent.

“Yay positive upticks,” he tweeted. “Fans LOVE the movie. Critics HATE it. What a glaring disconnect. People just want to laugh & have fun.”

Next he spent time praising some fans and critics who actually liked the movie with some choice retweets and knocks at those who laughed in the theater, but trash the film publicly.

And to finish off, Johnson took one more jab at the “Baywatch” naysayers, reminding everyone once again of just how differently the fans and the media feel about the movie.

“Oh boy, critics had their venom & knives ready,” he wrote. “Fans LOVE the movie. Huge positive scores. Big disconnect w/ critics & people.”

Considering the way things are headed, “Baywatch” will likely get a sequel and Johnson will make the White House home within the decade, so maybe we should submit and take a bite of what The Rock is cooking.

Royal Trouble! Prince George Sobs After Getting Scolded by Kate at Pippa Middleton’s Wedding

There are usually a few tears at a wedding, and Pippa Middleton’s nuptials to financier James Matthews on Saturday were no exception.

Prince George, who served as a page boy for his aunt’s big day, appeared to cry after the ceremony at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield. According to reports, the 3-year-old royal was seen sobbing outside for a brief moment.

Determined to ensure nothing dampened the mood of her sister’s wedding day, Princess Kate was pictured giving her son a scolding. Photos showed Prince George pouting, seemingly embarrassed by the situation, but he perked up again soon after.

A video of the bride and groom leaving the church appears to show Kate having a strong word with George after he wanders behind Pippa and can be seen playing with her dress as she makes her big exit.

All eyes were on Prince George and 2-year-old Princess Charlotte, who served as a bridesmaid at the royal affair.

Proud parents Prince William and Kate watched as their royal toddlers, who were dressed in adorable outfits by Pepa and Co., prepared to make their way down the aisle.

After the ceremony, wedding guests told reporters that the children in the bridal party were “very” well-behaved during the ceremony. Unfortunately for George, it looks like he got into a bit of mischief afterwards!

Charlotte wore an ivory silk dress with a frilled collar, a nude pink sash and matching trim across the sleeves and neckline with hand-embroidered detailing. The bodice featured a vintage style lace panel and the dress carried a net petticoat with lace trim underneath. She also wore ivory opaque tights, beige soft leather shoes and a floral headband.

George wore an ivory double-breasted silk pleated shirt with Peter Pan collar and coordinating trim detail paired with knickerbockers in pale olive Vienne silk and a matching cummerbund.

WATCH: How Princess Kate Is Changing the Royal Parenting Rules

George adorably channeled dad William, who was a page boy in his uncle Prince Andrew’s wedding to Sarah Ferguson in 1986.

No doubt mom Kate passed along a few helpful tips to her 2-year-old daughter before the big day. She and Pippa made an adorable pair of bridesmaids as little girls in their uncle wedding ceremony in 1991.

RELATED: A Side-by-Side Comparison of Kate and Pippa’s Weddings

Pippa, 33, and Matthews, 41, became engaged in July 2016. The longtime couple has a “deep desire” to disappear from the spotlight in the longer term, a source told PEOPLE.

Another source said they are looking forward to settling down and “having children and leading a quiet life.”

Eddie McCall is a good kid. He does his homework, picks up around the house, and cooks dinner for his single mom when she has to work late at a Chicago hotel. Then Eddie’s best friend, Whip, shows him a printout from the Internet- a picture of an honest-to-gosh naked woman-and suddenly Eddie can’t seem to think about anything else. He knows his mom will be upset if she sees the sites he’s visiting. Still, he doesn’t expect her to ship him off to her hometown of Sheldon, Indiana, to live with his great-uncle Peavey for an entire month. Peavey isn’t exactly the father figure thirteen-year-old Eddie’s been looking for. He spits tobacco juice into a can, calls a toilet a “commode,” and certainly doesn’t own a computer. As it turns out, however, both Peavey McCall and Sheldon, Indiana, hold some very surprising secrets. The author captures two worlds in this tender and funny look at a boy learning what it really means to be a man.

Ultimaya 1.0: The Trouble with the Wishes of Leopold Stokes

Ultimaya 1.0: The Trouble with the Wishes of Leopold Stokes

December, 1992. Leopold Stokes, a small town Carolina banker with big dreams, ambitions-and temper-springs for his first laptop from his old friend Charley Bass. On the computer is a software program Leo didn’t pay for: “Ultimaya 1.0,” which promises to “fulfill his deepest wishes.” Leo queries Charley, who encourages him to see what it’s all about. Leo can’t resist. He opens the program-and is soon hurtling into the adventure of a lifetime…His first foray into working with the mysterious program has a totally shocking result: a wish that Leo voices in anger at Nan, his housekeeper and longtime family friend, comes true and Leo realizes that Ultimaya 1.0 has tremendous powers to do exactly what it promises-but only for him. Shattered by what happened with Nan, but astounded by the possibilities the program offers, Leo desperately tries to get some kind of bargaining leverage with Ultimaya 1.0. But he continually fails. He consults with Charley, an enthusiastic experimenter with psychedelics in the 1960s and Eastern meditation in the 1970s. He repeatedly warns Leo of the karmic dangers of trying to exploit the program for his own ends. But for all his inhibitions and ambivalence in so much of his life-including his longtime, on-and-off romance with high school flame Constance Cunningham-Leo has a lust for power that Ultimaya talks to loud and clear. As he struggles to express his wishes and yet control the program, Leo gets taken deeper into mysterious coincidences he can’t understand. Finally, frustrated to the max, he throws caution to the winds and insists that Ultimaya 1.0 fulfill all his deepest wishes-immediately-but cannot, in his wildest dreams, imagine where that command will wind up taking him. Part Aladdin and His Magic Lamp with a computer for a genie, part Sorcerer’s Apprentice with no sorcerer to take command, and part modern-day Christmas Carol that keeps us guessing and sometimes wincing until the very end, Ultimaya 1.0 is a hip, hugely satisfying sci-fi

However, when the two coffee shop kings approach her one day after work, they make her an offer she can’t refuse. They would like to be her to be their sugar baby, and offer her double the money as long as she does something taboo, have both of the brothers, at the same time. This novella is 30,000 words worth of taboo threesomes, erotic billionaire lunch dates between the sheets, and almost caught exhibitionism in Prada!)EXCERPT:”What do you want to do with your old clothing then?” George asked coming back from the register into the sitting room where she was sitting on a wide leather couch in front of three or four mirrors. She looked up at him and over at the mirrors that surrounded her and realized that she no longer looked like their maid, but their equal. She kicked the bag over with her shoe.”Can they put it in a bag for me?” She looked up at him and he offered his hand to her. He pulled her up beside him and kissed her gently like he had done last night, testing the waters before he pulled her in for a bruising kiss, his hand snaking around her him and pulling her up against him roughly.”They can.” He muttered against her lips and kissed her hungrily again, backing her up against a mirror. She squeaked when her back hit the cold glass and he took it as an opportunity to kiss her harder, his tongue finding hers, his breath coming out in heavy pants, his body eagerly pressing into hers. “Fuck you’re gorgeous, I’ve waited so long for you my little princess.” She couldn’t help but shudder in response to his tone. He was desperate, he was desperate for her. She loved having this power over

The Trouble With Horse Racing

Have we, as a nation, lost our bearings? Have we lost all sense of proportion? The jubilation and near-hysterical levels of enthusiasm in response to American Pharoah winning horse racing’s Triple Crown were not only wretchedly excessive, they were nutty.

Yes, people will point out that, until American Pharoah did it last weekend, no horse had won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes, all in the same year, not since 1978, when Affirmed did it. Wonderful.

Except that the moment the race was over, we began hearing nothing but economic news. We instantly began hearing how valuable this horse will be once he is put out to stud. Money. It was all about money. Potential earnings, return on equity, future profits.

Consider: When Miguel Cabrera won the “real” Triple Crown, in 2012 (the one in baseball, the one that requires genuine athletic talent and isn’t joined at the hip to pari-mutuel wagering), it hadn’t been done for 45 years, not since 1967, when Carl Yastrzemski led the league in batting average, homers, and RBI.

Now that’s a real achievement, one done by a human being and not by a horse or trained dog. Nothing against animals, mind you. I’ve watched the Kentucky Derby and I’ve watched the Westminster Dog Show, and have been amused, if not overly worked-up, by both. But those aren’t “sporting events.”

Moreover, after Cabrera won his Triple Crown, you didn’t hear the media get all dollars-and-sense about it. You didn’t hear broadcasters speculate about how much more money Cabrera could expect to earn now that he had accomplished this milestone.

If we want to celebrate something significant being done after a long dry spell, let’s at least hold out for an impressive “human” event, something that doesn’t involve animals. Let’s hold out for something memorable, like seeing the perennially disappointing Chicago Cubs win a World Series, or the Detroit Lions appear in a Super Bowl.

Or wait for the next American citizen to be named World Chess Champion. That formidable feat hasn’t been accomplished since 1975, when Bobby Fischer won the crown. And chess, baseball and football–unlike horse racing–don’t owe their existence to gambling. Unlike horse racing, which would shrivel up and die without the gambling, these games would flourish even with no money being wagered.

And not to get all self-righteous or “socially conscious” here, but speaking of the Kentucky Derby, what do we see when we observe that lavish spectacle? What do we see when we behold this historic horse race held in a nest of the former Confederacy?

We see a vast ocean of white faces. We see money. We see rich white people–wealthy, mint julep-drinking, white men and women, tricked out in their finest antebellum duds, harkening us back to all that was weird and glorious about Plantation Life. And then, just when we think we’ve had enough, they go and sing, “My Old Kentucky Home.”

No one is suggesting we ban horse racing, or curtail it, or boycott it. After all, wagering on horses is as American as apple strudel. And if a network wants to milk a two-and-a-half minute horse race for three hours, that’s their prerogative. They’re the ones paying for the commercial time.

But before people mindlessly gush over a horse race, they should ask themselves why they care. Unless they have money riding on it, what does it matter? And given that Pharoah went off at 3 to 5 odds (meaning you had to risk $ 50 to win $ 30), his victory was something of an anti-climax. A 37-year drought or not, he was the prohibitive favorite.

Abbott And Costello – Politician/Public Enemies/Car Trouble

The Abbott and Costello TV Show is timeless American humor, as fresh today as it was 40 years ago. All the classic routines which ‘the boys’ performed on film, radio and stage, were captured in 1952-1953 for the new medium of television and delivered at the peak of their powers. The regular cast of characters, including Mr. Fields, Mike the Cop, Stinky, Bacciagalupe and Hillary, had worked with Bud and Lou on film and stage and each contributed memorably. These shows stand today as perhaps the finest surviving representation of the art and burlesque comedy. POLITICIAN Delighted at the prospect of being Mike The Cop’s boss, Lou decides to run for Councilman. Bud coaches him on the fine points of kissing babies, using Bingo the chimp for practice. Now a seasoned politician, Lou holds a campaign rally in the park, explaining the Confusion Party ticket to his supporters. Then a bevy of crying beauties get big-hearted Lou to donate most of his clothes to their needy fathers in a burlesque finale. PUBLIC ENEMIES Two safecrackers and their molls move in next door to Bud and Lou. After a picture of Lou is mistakenly named master thief ‘Dapper Dan’ in the papers, the gang recruits the boys for a warehouse heist. Chopper Coyle’s girlfriend Fifi takes a liking to Lou, and it’s almost fatal until Bud convinces the tough guys that Lou ‘acts so dumb, he’s a genius!’ A zany chase ensues in the warehouse when Lou’s real identity is discovered. FROM BED TO WORSE The Big American Seed Company is giving 00 prize for the best home garden, and Bud convinces Lou it’s easy money. Unfortunately, next door neighbour Bill Hart has the same idea, and open warfare develops. In a nutty parade of backyard slapstick, the boys blow up an obstinate stump, destroy an underground water pipe, and feud with Hart’s trespassing chickens. CAR TROUBLE Lou’s heart is set on winning a new car in the Jeepers Creepers Baby Food Contest. He wins, b.

Double Trouble

Double Trouble

Two sisters. One disaster. First things first: I’m the bad twin. While my sister, Marcia, has the perfect family in the perfect suburb, I’ve been making my living as an Internet advice columnist and designing Web sites in my downtown loft. I always thought I had the right answer – and hair color – for any occasion. That is, until Marcia ran up loads of debt and ran out on her husband and kids, and I was left helping to pick up the pieces. Her husband, James, is a lawyer who I hate on principle alone. But for a guy who’s just lost his job, his marriage, and his expensive toys, he’s keeping it together – and making me rethink my feelings toward him. It’s not that he’s traded in his conservative suits for sexy jeans. It’s that he’s not giving up what’s important to him, and oh baby, I’m a sucker for a guy who hangs tough. That doesn’t mean I’m ready to step into Marcia’s designer shoes now that she’s gone AWOL. And it doesn’t mean I’m going to fall for James’s easy charm…not again, anyhow. Besides, I’ve had a lifelong policy of not being mistaken for my twin and I’m not backing down on that one now – no matter how convenient it might be for a certain sexy (and persuasive) man…

You Asked, You Got, Then Came Trouble

Have you ever had the experience of setting out to make a positive change in your life, only to have it start an avalanche of changes that scares and overwhelms you?

A few of my clients have had this experience lately, and I’ve seen it a lot over the years.

Sometimes the avalanche of change is full of desirable things piggy-backing on the positive step you wanted to make in the first place. Other times, the avalanche is more saboteurial in nature, distracting you from where you really want to go. Both can derail you. Read on to find out how to keep it in check.

IS THIS YOU? THE HAPPY AVALANCHE

You’ve been miserable for a long time. You know you want to make a move, and even know what it is, but you are not sure how you would do it or what it would look like exactly . You take a chance, hire a coach, quickly get clear and start taking scary steps. Suddenly, everything you want and more than you could ever dream of starts to pour in — miraculous coincidences, lucky moves, desires fulfilled! What to do?

Believe it or not, most people know to be grateful, but there is something very unsettling about the floodgates opening up. People start behaving like they’re drowning. Overwhelmed, breathless, and the opportunities are forcing them to grow and make decisions at an alarming rate, somewhat in a panic. Often, this happens while simultaneously trying to complete the old job, task, or relationship you are letting go of.

ACTION ONE: Breathe!

Slow down the pace of change simply by relaxing into your body. Breathe more deeply, walk more slowly, take the time to answer thoughtfully. Don’t get swept up in the wave.

ACTION TWO: Make peace with failure

If you’re not perfect keeping up your old activities as you navigate the new, forgive yourself. Delegate what you can. Do what’s most important, but let it be OK if something falls through the cracks. That goes for the new adventure too. Certainly, striking while the iron is hot is important but know that you are learning and that there will be unexpected turns. Forgive yourself.

ACTION THREE: Stop being a lone ranger

Change is hard. You don’t have to do it alone. Sometimes it comes so fast, we don’t feel we have time to reach out, but reach out you must. A mentor in your new chosen endeavor, friends who can just listen or help, or even a hired assistant to temporarily do some grocery shopping, chores, errands or child wrangling if possible. If you’re working with a coach, use them well during the avalanche.

IS THIS YOU? THE SABOTEUR AVALANCHE

You’ve been ready to explode for a long time, or maybe you’ve gotten sick of hearing yourself complain, so you hired a coach and got going trying to forge new directions. Clarity starts to come because you start admitting to yourself out loud what you really want for yourself. You work hard to start moving in that direction, thwarting old habits and traps, things start looking hopeful and then BAM! small disasters start happening. You catch a flu bug, someone dear passes away, your job gets more demanding leaving no time for yourself and you’re a victim of identity theft. Yeah, it’s not OR it’s AND. The saboteur avalanche doesn’t mess around. It’s usually not just ONE thing that gets in the way. What do you do?

I do find that people who have been holding off doing what they know they need to do for many years, tend to have the nastier avalanche. However, it’s important not to blame yourself. CHAOS is how the world reorganizes itself. And it happens. You did not DO anything to bring this on. The test is not whether you caused it, but rather, how you deal with it.

ACTION ONE: Breathe (funny — the same for both types)

Slow your breath to get a grip on the changes.

ACTION TWO: Don’t take it personally

Stuff happens. Don’t let it erode your sense of self. Watch how you talk to yourself in your head. Stop blaming yourself or thinking disparaging things. Do whatever you can to not ADD to the DRAMA. As you talk to others and as you deal with the losses or changes, try to remain neutral. If you editorialize and over-dramatize, you add fuel to the fire by whacking out your adrenal glands and making your body remain in the stressed state too long — tough for getting your wits about you and persevering.

ACTION THREE: DO NOT give up

Too many times, I see people give up. Like being in the Indy 500 and just pulling over to quit, you’re more likely to get seriously hurt. Yes, timing is a factor and sometimes it pays to wait, but when the nasty avalanche happens, it’s not a sign that you were NOT meant to have what you want or that you were heading in the wrong direction. It is just a BIG nasty test to see how badly you want what you say you want.

DO NOT GIVE UP. NO matter which kind of avalanche shows up, do one small thing a day (or at least a few times a week!) to keep moving in the new direction. It will pay off.

Change is hard. That’s why most people don’t do it. But you ARE doing it, and that deserves applause. BRAVO! Now get to work.
