Gucci Issues Apology in Wake of Blackface Accusations

MILAN – Facing accusations that a balaclava-style sweater available on its online shop and physical stores evoked blackface, Gucci issued a statement on Thursday through its Twitter account.
“We consider diversity to be a fundamental value to be fully upheld, respected, and at the forefront of every decision we make,” the statement read.
The black knit top is a turtleneck style covering the bottom half of the face with a cutout and giant red lips around the mouth. The item is no longer available on the brand’s online shop and the company said it was removed it from brick-and-mortar stores, as well.
“We are fully committed to increasing diversity throughout our organization and turning this incident into a powerful learning moment for the Gucci team and beyond,” the company remarked.

Michael Jai White Writes Letter Of Apology To His Ex-Girlfriends: ‘I Believed All Women Were Crazy’

Following years of trial and error with romantic relationships, it appears actor Michael Jai White has stumbled upon an epiphany when it comes to dating, love and his former girlfriends.

Earlier this week the “For Better Or Worse” star took to his Facebook page to pen an open letter aptly titled, “Apologies To All My Ex’s.” In the letter, White detailed some of his previous dating issues and thoughts on how women were “crazy” with their relationship demands.

“As a man, you have to deal with hand holding, ‘yes dearing,’ and freaking cuddling! I endured this for years until my relationships reached their natural demise due to some natural chemistry flaw between us or the woman’s natural chemical imbalance- Yes I said it,” he wrote.

“I believed all women were crazy and the only choice a man had was to decide exactly how much crazy he’s willing to deal with to sustain a relationship. It’s crazy to think I, as a man, would ever want to spend every waking moment with a woman, to be all-up-on each other constantly, to talk endlessly about ‘every-damned-thing’ and see each other “every-damned-day!”

Now happily married, White credits his undying love for wife, Gillian Waters, who, he says, has helped him gain a better understanding on how to cater to a woman’s needs like “a man.”

“I simply didn’t love my ex’s in the capacity their spirits knew organically needed to be loved,” he said. “I believe woman nowadays have learned to settle for what’s familiar to love. In turn, they’ve had to decide how much of a man’s love they can live without to sustain a relationship.”

“I can say that I am now the very best version of myself and that’s due entirely to my relationship.”

Jon Stewart Shocked By Fox News Apology Over Muslim ‘No-Go Zones’ In Europe

On Saturday, Fox News did something that managed to shock Jon Stewart: The network apologized.

“I’ll be damned. It’s the rare Foxus contritus of legend,” Stewart said on Tuesday night’s “Daily Show” after a moment of stunned silence.

Then Stewart pondered just what triggered the mass mea culpa.

“What did they say that was so much wronger than usual that it required a network-wide apology?” Stewart asked. “How bad does bullshit have to smell before the odor is detected by people who live on a mountain made out of that substance?”

The multiple apologies were due to a guest on the network who claimed there were Muslim-controlled “no-go zones” in the United Kingdom and France. These zones, which do not exist, are under Sharia law and non-Muslims are not even allowed to enter, the guest said.

The Fox apology led to a piece about efforts here in the United States to ensure Sharia law is never imposed in places like Alabama, sometimes with surreal results.

Jonah Hill Gets Real On ‘Tonight Show’ With Powerful Apology

Things just got real.

On Tuesday, “22 Jump Street” star Jonah Hill stopped by “The Tonight Show,” and rather than promote his new movie right away, he got things off to a very sobering start first.

Over the weekend, Hill was caught on tape using a homophobic slur on a paparazzo, and he asked host Jimmy Fallon if he could take a moment to address the situation with “The Tonight Show” audience.

“My heart’s broken, and I genuinely am deeply sorry to anyone who’s been affected by that term in their life. I’m sorry, and I don’t deserve or expect your forgiveness.”

“Unfortunately, this isn’t a joke,” Hill began as he revealed the circumstances that led to the incident. The actor recalled how the paparazzo in question had been following him all day, calling him names and attacking him personally until he just couldn’t take it any more.

“In response, I wanted to hurt him back, and I said the most hurtful word that I could think of at that moment,” Hill admitted.

Though he claims he didn’t mean the term in a homophobic way, the actor went on to say, “Words have weight and meaning, and the word I chose was grotesque. And no one deserves to say or hear words like that.”

Hill has been a staunch supporter of gay rights throughout his career, even speaking out against Russia’s anti-gay laws amid the controversy surrounding the Sochi Olympics.

“My heart’s broken, and I genuinely am deeply sorry to anyone who’s been affected by that term in their life. I’m sorry, and I don’t deserve or expect your forgiveness,” said Hill.

Hill finished his apology by urging young people to use him as an example of what not to do, saying that using hatred and anger just “adds more ugliness to the world.”
