Hannah Godwin of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Talks Drama-Free Shoot, ‘Making Pretty Powerful’ for Kensie

ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” is all about the drama, but the reality show’s Hannah Godwin has a more direct message in Kensie’s fall campaign. In an interview Tuesday, the 24-year-old talked about the brand’s “#Make Pretty Powerful” marketing initiative, but she wasn’t about to reveal anything about the show. Godwin edged into modeling as a high schooler, going on to appear in print ads, catalogues, e-commerce sites, music videos and commercials, particularly in the Southeast and on the West Coast. Photography is another pursuit. Having bought Kensie as a teenager, she said, “They have very cute clothes, which made me pick up their things. It’s good quality. You can rewear a lot of the stuff, which I really love. I will keep them in my closet for a year and just rewear them a bunch of different ways.” Dove Shore photographed the campaign in Beverly Hills in what the reality star described as “a magical dollhouse.” But one that was free from any sign of Dylan Barbour, Blake Horstmann or any of Godwin’s other televised admirers. In addition to the abundance of bikinis and cut-off shorts that Godwin wore for “BIP,” she also wore a few tanks. “It was so hot there. I

Bachelor in Paradise’s Ashley Iaconetti Reveals If She and Jared Haibon Would Get Married on TV

Much of Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon‘s love story has played out on the small screen — so it only makes sense that their wedding probably will, too.

The newly engaged Iaconetti opened up about the couple’s relationship and plans for the future on the latest episode of iHeartRadio’s Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast, and it’s safe to say they’re fully basking in the honeymoon phase.

“Since we’ve been dating in March, we haven’t had any sort of fight,” she revealed. “I feel like Jared and I kind of did it in reverse. We had all our challenges — as not a couple — in the beginning, and now we’ve entered this honeymoon phase which is so weird, because normally the honeymoon phase happens for Bachelor couples on the show, which it was definitely not for us.”

The Bachelor in Paradise alum also confirmed that their engagement will play out on the upcoming season 5 this summer. As for whether she saw the proposal coming?

“I had an inkling — I was like, 50/50,” she said. “I thought it was going to happen for a couple of weeks leading up to it, and then the week of everyone was throwing me off. So I knew that Jared would ask my dad — he always said he would ask my dad — but I talked to my parents and they were like, ‘Ashley, he did not call.’ Total straight faces. He did call; my parents are apparently really good actors. So is my sister!”

Now, Iaconetti says she’s “the happiest ever” — and is anxiously awaiting her Neil Lane ring to get sized.

“Oh my god — it’s perfect, perfect, perfect,” she gushed. “It’s exactly what I always imagined on my finger. Jared and my sister kind of worked together on putting it together.”

And last but not least, Iaconetti confirmed that she and Haibon are definitely interested in televising their nuptials — under one condition.

“I think we’re both down , but our caveat is that we want as many guests as we want and we don’t want to be limited to that,” she said. “So I think if we couldn’t have it the way we imagined is the only reason we wouldn’t do it. We want it!”

Season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise premieres Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Inside Bachelor in Paradise’s Tanner and Jade Roper Tolbert’s Life as New Parents

Jade Roper Tolbert and husband Tanner Tolbert are taking new parenthood in stride.

The reality stars, who fell in love on season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise, welcomed their daughter Emerson “Emmy” Avery in August and now reveal to PEOPLE the ways their lives — and marriage — have shifted.

“It changes your priorities in life and makes you think of things a little differently,” says Tolbert, 30. “Watching Jade be a mom has been pretty awesome.”

Adds Roper Tolbert, 31, “I love being a mom. We’ve been enjoying just being new parents and every new thing is so exciting for us. She’s a little treasure.”

Of their 6-month-old’s most recent milestones, the couple says she has started eating solid foods, rolling over, making consonant sounds and teething. They also took her traveling for the first time in January on a trip to St. Lucia.

“It was awesome, but in hindsight, we probably should’ve brought my mom or someone to babysit so we could have a little bit of alone time because that was tough,” Tolbert says.

Finding alone time to spend together in general is tough for the two these days, but Tolbert says that luckily his mom moved back to Kansas City, Missouri, and has become their “resident babysitter.”

“If we do date nights, it’s something easy like a movie where we’re gone for a couple hours and then we always just end up talking about her anyway,” Roper Tolbert says as her husband adds, “The first date we went on, we went to a movie and Jade started crying.”

“That was when she was really little,” Roper Tolbert explains. “She was maybe 4 weeks old and the hormones, they get you. Now it’s nice.”

For more coverage, follow our babies magazine on Flipboard.

Roper Tolbert’s next trip will include a visit to see her fellow Bachelor in Paradise alum and best friend Carly Waddell at the end of March so she and Emerson can meet Waddell and husband Evan Bass‘ new baby girl, Isabella Evelyn, whom they welcomed on Feb. 15.

“We’ll get to meet her baby and see if they’re little besties,” she says. “It has been fun being able to relate to her because not a lot of my friends have babies yet.”

As to how Roper Tolbert thinks Waddell will be as a mom, she says, “I know she’ll do great,” adding, “Even what I’ve seen so far, you can already tell she has taken on motherhood so gracefully.”

RELATED: Bachelor in Paradise Alums Carly Waddell and Evan Bass Welcome Daughter Isabella Evelyn

Like Waddell and Bass, the Tolberts tied the knot in a televised ceremony in Mexico in February 2016. One day, they plan on sharing the story of how they met with Emerson.

“She’s the first Paradise baby,” Roper Tolbert says. “She has her own little Instagram account and so a lot of it has to do with that. I feel like someday she’s going to want to know, ‘Why are all of these people following me?’ We’ll have to eventually share the story.”

Whether they would let her go on one of The Bachelor franchises like her parents, Tolbert says, “I don’t know if the show will be around that long but if she wanted to, who are we to say no? It’d be pretty hypocritical of us if we told her no.”

“I would like to say, ‘No, I wouldn’t let her go on the show,’ ” Roper Tolbert says. “But also, if that was something she was really interested in doing, then I would support her.”

Despite their busy new lives as parents, Tolbert is working on getting rid of his “dad bod” with Nutrisystem For Men.

“I didn’t even realize that I had gained some weight during her pregnancy because I never used a scale or anything like that,” he says. “I wear a lot of sweatpants. I started Nutrisystem and lost 16 pounds in six weeks. I’m back to my normal weight and feeling a lot better.”

Plus, their life might get even busier soon, as they both want additional kids. “We’re definitely going to at least try to have some more,” Tolbert says. “We’re debating between three and four right now.”

Roper Tolbert agrees. “He wants that boy so if the next one’s a boy, then we’re probably going to have three.”

Krystal Had Hoped Peter Kraus Would Be The Bachelor — and Hints That’s She’s Headed to Paradise

Ahead of Women Tell All, here’s  Krystal Tells All?

The Bachelor contestant – whom many dubbed this year’s “villain” – Krystal Nielson spilled on what was really happening on Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s season with reality-obsessed producers of The Ellen DeGeneres Show after getting the boot during an infamous 2-on-1 date.

Turns out that like Bekah Martinez, Nielson appeared on the show hoping Peter Kraus, the fan favorite who made it to the final two on Rachel Lindsay‘s Bachelorette season, would be the guy handing out roses.

“You know, I was really pleasantly surprised,” the 30-year-old fitness coach said about Luyendyk Jr.. “I was really hoping it was going to be Peter. I wanted to give him a fair shot.”

She added, “Arie’s so different in a group setting versus one on one. In a group, he’s awkward and a little goofy and uncomfortable in a group setting. One on one, Arie’s completely different. He’s there for you. He’s very present.”

The reality star also addressed her breakdown after a group bowling date, when Luyendyk made a last-minute decision to bring all the women to the evening portion of the date despite previously saying that only the winning team of a bowling competition would have more time with him.

“The thing at the bowling alley was just my tipping point,” Nielson explained. “I’d been putting so much effort into him, and there was so much s– in the house and I was just there for Arie. When he changed his mind, some people think that’s an overreaction. I only had his word. I was pretty much done. I packed my bags that night.”

RELATED VIDEO: The Bachelor‘s Arie Luyendyk Jr. Says He Fell for Two Women on the Show: “I Didn’t Know I Was Capable of That”

Nielson added that she wasn’t the only woman upset by the sudden change but said no one publicly had her back.

She also said she wasn’t able to address comments she made on the bus ride back to the hotel after the date, which was spoken about by the cast but not caught on camera. However, she hinted that “it was a big f–ing deal.”

Nielson said that she felt “misunderstood” during filming but didn’t know that she would be portrayed so negatively when the show aired.

“It’s such an interesting dynamic that was really hard for me to navigate through because I’m there for Arie – I gave up so much of my life for this guy and this relationship, and that’s where my focus is,” she said. “It’s not summer camp, braiding hair and making girlfriends. That’s not what I signed up for. So that really separated me instantly.”

But have we seen the last of Nielson?

Although she wouldn’t confirm that she’s been tapped to appear on Bachelor in Paradise, she definitely didn’t deny it – and she had an idea of who she’d be looking for on the beach.

“It would have to be someone who definitely works for themselves. Entrepreneurial. Definitely health and fitness. And has to be a dog person,” Nielson said, immediately causing co-executive producer Corey Palent to respond, “That’s Peter!”

Not So Fast! Does Peter Kraus Have a Chance at The Bachelor After All?

Is Peter Kraus getting another chance at love on the small screen?

Rumors that the 31-year-old Wisconsin native is set to be the next star of The Bachelor have been heating up all week, largely due to a series of tweets from franchise creator Mike Fleiss teasing a “shocking” announcement about the show.

Indeed, Kraus’ casting would come as a surprise, as Fleiss had previously made it clear that they wouldn’t pick someone to be the Bachelor if they weren’t ready to propose. Kraus, who made it to the final two on Rachel Lindsay‘s recent season of The Bachelorettefiercely resisted the reality show’s tradition of proposing to the leading lady after a whirlwind courtship. After a final heart-wrenching conversation with Lindsay in which he acknowledged that asking her to marry him would be a compromise of his core values, they decided to part ways.

“Do we really want a Bachelor who isn’t ready to settle down with a woman he loves?” Fleiss tweeted mid-August. “Hmmm. Not what #thebachelor is all about.”

At the time, a source told PEOPLE that Fleiss’ tweet was absolutely aimed at Kraus.

“Peter is every Bachelor producer’s worst nightmare: the perfect guy who cannot be coerced into proposing at the end,” said the insider. “The fact that no one could talk Peter into buckling under and just giving her the ring — and that he wouldn’t play along — absolutely enraged the higher-ups at the show. Including Fleiss, definitely. He is totally on their s— list forever.”

“Even if they weren’t so mad, his unwillingness to play by the rules of the game has them afraid he’d be another Brad Womack or, worse, Juan Pablo ,” added the source.

After Fleiss’ initial subtweet about Kraus, longtime host Chris Harrison told PEOPLE that it seemed like the personal trainer was “still working through some things.”

“I think his time with Rachel exposed some things in his life that he probably has to deal with and needs to handle before he’s ready to settle down,” said Harrison. “In no way does that make him a bad guy or not worthy. He may make a great Bachelor. It’s not like it’s completely off the table. But after seeing him be with Rachel, it didn’t give you that glowing feeling of, Hey, this guy is ready for another chance at love. It would be really hard to spin that.”

Lindsay, who is now engaged to finalist Bryan Abasolo, has also been outspoken about her frustrations with Kraus.

“With Peter, I constantly got this push and this pull,” the 32-year-old attorney previously told PEOPLE. “What I hate so much is that it seems like the reason that Peter wasn’t the one for me is due to the proposal, and I think that it became such a big issue because that’s what happens at the end of this, but there were other deep-rooted issues in my relationship with him.”

FROM PEN: Why Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay Didn’t Choose Peter Kraus

However, despite the odds being initially stacked against Kraus, Fleiss’ recent tweets sing a different tune. It appears that Bachelor execs have likely changed their minds about Kraus landing the role — perhaps due to the fact that no other front-runners have emerged. (Robby Hayes and Dean Unglert, two prominent names from the franchise who had been thrown into the mix, appear to be out of the running due to antics unfolding on the current season of Bachelor in Paradise.)

“Hoping to make unbelievably shocking announcement today regarding #thebachelor,” Fleiss tweeted on Thursday. “Waiting for final approval…”

While fans are still waiting with bated breath for the official confirmation, at the end of the day, Bachelor Nation is largely in agreement that Kraus is the strongest candidate.

“Peter is a very good man, a great guy,” Harrison told PEOPLE earlier this month. “It’s always hard to talk about who would be a good Bachelor/Bachelorette because then everybody goes off and takes that as, ‘Oh Harrison doesn’t like him.’ That has nothing to do with it.”

“They’re all good people,” he added. “It’s about choosing someone who will make a good Bachelor, good television and who we think is sincerely ready for this moment — ready to be the Bachelor, ready to settle down.”

‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Stars Carly Waddell And Evan Bass Get Married

Amid drama in Bachelor Nation, these two fan favorites got their happy ending.

Carly Waddell and Evan Bass, who fell in love and got engaged last season on “Bachelor in Paradise,” tied the knot on Saturday in front of a small group of family and friends at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. According to People, fellow “Paradise” couple Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, as well as “Bachelorette/Bachelor” stars Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth and Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi were in attendance as Chris Harrison officiated the ceremony.

Waddell wore a strapless, form-fitting dress and had her hair in a braid. Bass donned a grey suit.

Although they didn’t initially hit it off romantically on Season 3 of “Paradise,” Waddell and Bass soon realized they were a match and became one of the franchise’s favorite couples. They currently live in Nashville with Bass’ three sons, Nathan, Liam and Ensley.

Their wedding comes amid the investigation into “allegations of misconduct” on the set of “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 4. After a field producer filed a complaint, ABC suspended filming and Warner Bros. is currently looking into an alleged nonconsensual encounter between contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios, who are both taking legal action.

In a statement last week, Olympios said she does not remember what happened during her time with Jackson. “As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and it has now become my reality,” she added.

Jackson, on the other hand, released his own statement, saying, “It’s unfortunate that my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations.”

Although the truth has yet to come out, former cast members are sharing their experiences on the show, which gives “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” contestants another shot at finding love. Bass himself wrote a piece for The Hollywood Reporter, in which he defends “Bachelor in Paradise” and the production team behind it.

“Bachelor in Paradise” is my show. It’s my jam. Personal redemption, lifelong friends and the woman of my dreams are just a few of the many takeaways I found living on set for weeks at the air-condition-less resort. When the news about “Paradise” production broke the internet, it also broke my heart. While to some it’s a silly TV show, for me, it was an experience that changed my life in unimaginable ways. I am troubled thinking about the allegations happening on my favorite beach, and I’m sad that some couples will not have the opportunity to find love in a powerful and unique way. I can’t help but think about Jade and Tanner [Tolbert], the fast-approaching birth of their baby and how that beautiful family wouldn’t exist without “Paradise.” And for me, I will be forever grateful to “Paradise” for guiding me to an incredible stepmother to my own children.

Family creation aside, I’m equally disturbed by the way the production of the show is being portrayed. At first I wanted to stay quiet and let the dust settle before speaking out, but as the show has come under more sensationalized hostility and more unnamed “sources” speak out, I feel compelled to share my experiences with the show and its production team. Between Carly and I, we’ve appeared on five “Bachelor”-themed series, including appearances on the entire seasons of “BIP” two and three. So we know how this show works, why it works, and I’m going to tell you why ABC should keep the show.

This season of “Paradise,” which is still in limbo, was set to air Aug. 4.

Chris Harrison Speaks Out Amid ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Investigation

As reports about the “allegations of misconduct” that halted production of “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 4 slowly come to light, the show’s host Chris Harrison is attempting to set the record straight.

In a lengthy statement obtained by People, Harrison explained that there are “rumors and misinformation” out there regarding the alleged incident that reportedly happened between two contestants and that the truth will come out following Warner Bros.’ investigation. The longtime ABC host wants viewers to be patient and hopes all can “respect the privacy of the parties involved.”

The full statement reads:

By now, no doubt, you have heard that we have suspended production on this season’s “Bachelor in Paradise.” I can confirm to you that this is sadly the case. Out of respect to all involved, there’s only so much I can and will say at this time. Normally with a situation like this I would not say anything until the incident is fully resolved, but with all the rumors and misinformation being put out there, I don’t find that to be possible anymore.

Let me start by saying the safety and care of the cast and crew of our show is of the utmost importance to us. It is with this thought in mind that we made the decision to suspend filming. An investigation into the situation was started immediately. Warner Bros. is handling the details of that investigation. They’re moving quickly to gather all the facts, and once that’s done, a clear, concise decision can be made about where we go from here.

There are a lot of competing details in the various press accounts of the incident. And there’s a lot of misinformation out there too. We urge everyone to be patient until the investigation is complete.

I know in this day and age we want — and even expect — immediate answers, but in this case, it’s just not possible. So again, I urge you to please be patient and respect the privacy of the parties involved. I will keep you as informed and up to date as I possibly can. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused the cast, the crew and our loyal fans. It is my sincere hope that we can come to a quick resolution on this and get back to work very soon.

News of the incident hit Sunday after Warner Bros. announced that ABC was suspending production on the new season due to “misconduct” on set. The cast, which includes Raven Gates, Robby Hayes and Amanda Stanton, was sent back to the U.S. from Mexico.

“We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations,” Warner Bros. said in a statement. “Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.”

Following the reveal, reports started emerging detailing an alleged sexual encounter that happened between contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios in a swimming pool. Although neither has spoken out, sources close to each have shared information. But as Harrison said, right now, we don’t know the facts.

ABC Suspends Production Of ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Over ‘Allegations Of Misconduct’

After only a week of filming, ABC has decided to suspend production of “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 4 in Sayulita, Mexico, as the company investigates “allegations of misconduct.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. released a statement on the incident, saying:

We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of “Bachelor in Paradise” in Mexico. We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.

The show, which brings together contestants from previous seasons of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” to provide them with another shot at finding love, was slated for an Aug. 8 premiere. Now, it seems the series might not air at all.

TMZ reports that the situation allegedly involved contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios, who were both well-known personalities from their respective appearances in the “Bachelor” franchise. The two were reportedly involved in some inappropriate, sexual activities in a swimming pool, according to sources who spoke with Jackson and TMZ. Still, there are varying accounts of what actually happened, which is why Warner Bros. launched a full investigation into the situation and sent the rest of the cast back to the U.S.

Reality Steve (Steve Carbone), a blogger known for his “Bachelor” spoilers, posted a photo of the cast at the Puerto Vallarta airport on Sunday, writing on Twitter that they were apparently being flown to Houston. Jackson and Olympios are not pictured in the group photo.

The new season was set to feature Bachelor Nation favorites, including Raven Gates, Amanda Stanton, Alexis Waters, Taylor Nolan, Robby Hayes, Ben Zorn, Jasmine Goode, Vinny Ventiera and Alex Woytkiw.

HuffPost has reached out to ABC, as well as Jackson and Olympios, for an update on the suspension and situation.

Nick Viall Is No Longer A ‘Bachelor’

Warning: Spoilers for the “The Bachelor” Season 21 finale.

Nick Viall’s had a few shots at finding love on “The Bachelor” franchise. Thankfully, he finally got his happy ending on Monday night. And it was, well, dramatic, of course.

After weeks of tears, one-on-one dates, naps and cheese pasta, the 36-year-old proposed to Vanessa Grimaldi with a Neil Lane diamond ring. (Duh!)

“I will never forget the first moment I saw you … and the first moment I started falling in love with you,” he said, adding, “There have been plenty of times where I wanted to fight it, but I don’t want to fight it anymore.”

“Nick, when I’m with you, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” she said.

Raven Gates was the runner-up. Nick told her through tears, “I think about how much I’ve grown to care about you, respect you, and how much love I have for you … I just don’t know if I’m in love.”

He added, “I’m just torn up inside letting you go.”

When Nick said, “I’m going to miss you,” Raven answered, confidently, “I know.”

Nick and Vanessa had an immediate connection. Although they’ve gone back and forth about their plans regarding where to live ― Nick is Los Angeles-based while Vanessa resides in Montreal, Canada ― it appears their love for each other is more important than the distance.

“It’s sometimes strange how similar we are, which I think it’s great and sometimes it concerns me,” Nick told Vanessa on the show. “I’m just worried about the fact that, sometimes, it could complicate things. There might be some strong conversations because we’re passionate people, and we want what we want. [But] if we, in our hearts, decide to get engaged, it’s because that’s how we feel.”

Well, apparently they felt they were meant to be together. Congrats to the happy couple!

Why Kristina From ‘The Bachelor’ Still Thinks Nick Didn’t Give Her A Fair Shot

One of the most universally beloved contestants on Nick Viall’s season of “The Bachelor” was undoubtedly Kristina Schulman. The 24-year-old Kentucky dental hygienist won over Bachelor Nation when she spoke movingly about her childhood in Russia and her eventual adoption and emigration to the United States.

HuffPost’s Here To Make Friends podcast got a chance to speak with Kristina about how she ended up on the show, her take on all the Corinne-Taylor drama, what it was like to have her immigration story air during such a politically-charged moment, what it was like to be on a news blackout during election season, and why she might be taking a permanent break from margaritas.

She also explained that she still believes that Nick didn’t give her a fair chance. “Our time came so late,” she said. “And I’m the type of person to try it all before I really call it quits. And to this day I feel like I’m left with, ‘what if?,’ but I’ve come to terms with it.”

People Freaked Out Over ‘The Bachelor’ Nick Viall’s Turtleneck

Spoilers ahead.

Contrary to popular belief, the biggest bombshell on Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelor” wasn’t Andi Dorfman’s visit, Raven’s orgasm confession or Corinne’s exit.

It was Nick Viall’s gray turtleneck sweater.

The sweater that rocked “Bachelor Nation” appeared as Viall and the remaining contestants visited frigid Finland. Much like the best “Bachelor” moments that came before it, we hit peak sound-off on Twitter faster than you can whip up a serving of cheese pasta.

Some demanded answers: Why the turtleneck? Others questioned whether a man in a turtleneck could bring any woman, specifically a woman who has never orgasmed, to climax. Others made some excruciatingly fitting ‘NSYNC comparisons that we can never un-see.

Check out all our favorite LOL-worthy tweets about Nick’s turtleneck below.

Nick Viall Responds To That One ‘Bachelor’ Theory Everyone’s Tweeting About

The most recent episode of “The Bachelor” left fans, and the women vying for Nick Viall’s heart, shook.

Nick sent home six women (not including Taylor), and then had a “moment” where he broke down in front of the remaining ladies, telling them, “Right now, I just feel terrified that it’s not going to happen, so I don’t know if I can keep doing this.”

Well, although we don’t know if Nick ends up happy and in love at the end of all this, we do know that one of his suitors will try everything in her power to get him to continue on with this journey. Her name is Corinne, she apparently has a “platinum vagine,” and she’s been Season 21’s so-called “villain.” (Which basically means she’s the girl who has done all she can to get alone time with Nick, because, you know, she’s here to date Nick.)

But with everything going on in the world ― Donald Trump winning the presidential election, the New England Patriots coming back from a beating to win Super Bowl LI ― many are wondering if the unexpected will happen and Corinne will win over Nick’s heart in the finale.

“I say there’s two people in this world: people who love Corinne, and people who pretend to hate her,” Nick told The Huffington Post on Tuesday during an interview on Build Series, teasing that she could actually be the last woman standing.

“Maybe Corinne saves the season, I don’t know,” he said. “This season has proven that anything is possible. I guess we’ll have to first see what transpires for me walking out and if I pick myself back up. I mean, I know what happens, but I can’t give it away. We’ll have to see. but I think the intensity doesn’t die down anytime soon.”

Nick is all for the “villain” making it to the end, as the four-time “Bachelor” franchise star was considered one himself and believes the term is code for a “truly genuine” person who wants to find love.

“In that world, ‘villain’ can simply be a label given to someone who doesn’t conform,” he explained. “There are these unwritten rules in Bachelor Nation … I never follow those rules. You don’t see Corinne, and quite honestly you don’t see other people always following the rules, either. But, personally for me, if you are truly genuine about making real connections, then you don’t worry about silly things like unwritten rules or how you might come across to Bachelor Nation or if you’re going to rub someone the wrong way. If you’re truly genuine, you are going for it. You’re putting yourself out there at the risk of getting criticism because all you can really do is focus on the relationships in front of you and try to make some real connections.”

“If you’re going to think about being a fan-favorite, which some people do,” he added, “I would argue that you are, in fact, less genuine. “

After coming in second on both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons of “The Bachelorette,” and appearing to fall for but then dump “Bachelor in Paradise” co-star Jen Saviano, Nick is all about finding love on this current season of “The Bachelor.” But after Episode 6, it’s unclear if a fiancée is in the cards for Nick.

As he says, “you’ll have to watch and see.”

Behold, The Recipe For Corinne’s Cheese Pasta From ‘The Bachelor’

If you’ve been keeping up with “The Bachelor” this season, you’re focused on one person and one person only: Corinne Olympios.

The reality contestant and “business owner” has taken the show by storm, intriguing viewers with her extraordinary ability to sleep, her lack of interest in the Backstreet Boys and, of course, the freeness in which she references her nanny, Raquel.

“Raquel keeps my life together, OK?” Olympios said on an episode of “The Bachelor.” “She makes sure my bed is made every morning, makes my cucumbers, and like my vegetable slices for lunch. She makes me lemon salad. She knows exactly how much oil, lemon, and garlic salt I like. And cheese pasta. I have tried so many times to make cheese pasta. I can’t make cheese pasta like her.”

While some speculated that “cheese pasta” was just Corinne trying to say “mac and cheese” (remember when she called choreography “planned dancing?”) it turns out “cheese pasta” is indeed a meal in her household.

Corinne shared her beloved Raquel’s “cheese pasta” recipe with Us Weekly and it sounds … interesting, to say the least.

1. Boil pasta for 10 minutes (add some salt to water).

2. Strain out all water.

3. Add pasta back to pot, keeping it on low heat.

4. Add a lot of shredded cheese.

5. Mix until all the cheese melts.

Side note: no salt with cheese.

We have to commend her for adding salt to the water (common sense to most people, but even Olive Garden didn’t even do it a few years ago). Though we do have a few VERY important questions: What kind of pasta does she use? What kind of cheese? Doesn’t the cheese coagulate because there’s no milk base?

Get back to us when you can, Raquel. And be sure to tune into “The Bachelor” Monday nights on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.

The Bachelor Episode 2 Recap: Nick Puts Himself Out There

We start with Corinne, the narcissistic rich blonde contestant who is “crushing really hard” on Nick, and could also be my daughter, if I had birthed her when I was 11, but that’s an aside.  The women get invited to the group date, which is cruelly titled “Always a bridesmaid.” There’s an interview with Danielle, 27, who is blindingly attractive so I don’t listen to what she’s saying, which makes me a chauvinistic dude at heart.

The women are told by the producers to happily race toward Nick, and they do, buoyed by youth, hope, and the desire to be wed to a hipster with tendencies toward romantic angst. The women are outfitted in different bridal gowns, while Nick says that he wants to see the women “be goofy” and have fun, which foreshadows that someone will take this Too Seriously.

The shark costume girl gets drunk again. Corinne brags about having kissed Nick during the first cocktail party, and is happy about her bikini top bridal gown until she sees another girl who is supposed to be either Eve or a jungle bride and is wearing only leafy bikini bottoms with her hair covering her boobs.  Thunder: stolen.

The photographer says that whoever has the best connection with Nick will get a surprise, which is either more time with Nick or a session with a therapist specializing in daddy issues, whichever a given woman needs more (hint: it should always be the second).

Jasmine kisses Nick during the shoot, which opens up the floodgates for the other women kissing him as well. Jasmine the ungrammatical mental health counselor kisses him tenderly and Corinne almost kills her. The girls discuss how Corinne is the only one who’s kissed Nick, and Liz, who’s already had sex with him, gloats to the interviewer about how she’s had sex with him. In case you missed it, she’s had sex with him. Sex. With. Him.

Nick’s photo shoot as Adam and Eve is very sexy, which makes Corinna insecure, so on her turn, she gets in the pool and TAKES OFF HER TOP literally, and Nick looks profoundly uncomfortable with this topless photo shoot in front of the other women. Holy balls, she just won the contest for being “most connected” with Nick, which isn’t fair because only her boobs were most connected with Nick. Her prize, sadly, is only another wedding photo shoot with Nick, rather than intensive outpatient therapy focused on Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

At the cocktail party, after telling the interviewer that nobody ever has or will hold her boobs the way that Nick did (really), Corinne asks Nick for alone time, during which she instantly starts making out with him as per usual. She takes a break to tell him how much she likes him, and he says he is impressed with her and how she is sexy and takes charge.  No way is he marrying her, though.  She’s not enough of a challenge for Nick.

The southern belle, Raven, tells Nick that she’s been cheated on before, and tells Nick that she’s previously been attracted to ass$ %@s, apparently unlike him. Corinne interrupts shark costume girl for her second time talking to Nick this evening, which she really Shouldn’t Do, according to Bachelor Etiquette.  Next, the mental health counselor discusses how the majority of her work “comes down to vulnerability,” but then she, too, is interrupted by Corinne, who is now taking her third turn with Nick, which is really an unprecedented breach of protocol.  Weirdly, Nick keeps letting her do this, meaning either the producers told him not to stop her, or he’s really a boob guy, to the exclusion of being a personality guy.

Uh oh!  The mental health counselor steals Nick back! Later, Corinne, who is fairly inebriated, says that the mental health counselor, whose name I should really learn at some point, “re-interrupted” her and that is out of line.  This is the definition of “the inability to understand others’ perspectives.” She then gives a drunken rant telling the other girls that nobody should be there to make friends, but should be there for Nick only, and so forth.  Nick, bizarrely, gives Corinne the rose, who then says that her dad would be proud of her performance this evening, “even though I was naked.” The other women respond with silence, and Corinne says “I was just Corinne, that’s all I did, guys.”  Which appears to be their issue.

Back at the house, Corinne tells another girl how she’s not used to guys listening to her, which is why she’s so into Nick.  The helicopter comes to take Danielle, the neonatal nurse, on a one-on-one date.  The other women are excited for her, or at least putting on a good impression of being excited for her. Nick and Danielle’s helicopter lands on a yacht in Newport Beach, which is like my last date, except for the yacht, helicopter, and location. It turns out that Nick and Danielle are from the same hometown, and she will be the madonna character in the madonna-whore trope that underlies the show.  Three guesses who’s the whore.

Back at the house, Liz the doula tells another girl, Christen, that she had sex with Nick.  She asks how much time we have left to the show, and I answer, 39 minutes.  Oh wait, I was just dissociating during this awkward conversation.  Christen, like all of America, appears confused as to why Liz refused to give Nick her number after the hookup but yet wants to be on the show now.

Meanwhile, on the yacht, Nick and Danielle canoodle in a cute and laid back way, but, with her low hypnotic voice and natural makeup, I think she’s too low-drama for Nick. She seems like someone that wouldn’t be terribly good in bed, unless you’re into necrophilia. Oh wait, the corpse is perking up, and that joke was in terribly poor taste, since she now is confiding that she had a dead drug addicted fiance.  He wasn’t dead at the time of engagement though.  We think. Danielle gets the rose, as does anyone who ever discusses a death during a one-on-one.  He tells the camera that he connected with Danielle in a deeper way than he thought he would, and she’s cute and lovable and then they get on a Ferris Wheel and kiss and life is a dream when you’re young, hot, and on reality TV. Back in my life, my dog just scooted on the carpet so she probably needs her anal glands expressed.

Another date card arrives at the house and Liz is upset that that she only merits a group date invite, and not a one-on-one. Te group date is at some weird museum of things that people leave behind from failed relationships, which includes the ring that Nick used to propose to Caitlin during his failed proposal on The Bachelorette. There is a staged fight where a couple breaks up, and the stupider girls think it’s real and not staged.  Then, the girls are supposed to fake break up with Nick in front of a live audience, because they have literally thought of every other date option already on this show.

Liz freaks out because she thinks that Nick is avoiding her, because drama queen.  Now we move to the breakups, which are actually kind of funny, but I think my bar for humor on this show is low. Liz the drama queen tries to make this into a real conversation.  She talks about their hookup at Jade and whoever’s wedding and says that he didn’t fight for her, in this fake conversation that is actually real.  He is very weirded out and tells the camera that he didn’t expect Liz to share their “dating” story in front of the other women.

Group date. Nick talks to the women, trying to suss out whether they know that he’s hooked up with Liz. Christen confirmed that Liz told her that They Had Sex. He confirms this as well, and Christen thanks him for his honesty, which is apparently a thing that is done on this show a minimum of three times per episode.

Nick corners Liz and tells her that he knows that she told Christen that They Had Sex.  He says that he hasn’t heard from her before this, but now she’s on the show, so if she wanted to pursue a relationship, why did she wait till she was going to be on TV to do it? She says various contradictory and confusing things that do nothing to assuage Nick’s fears that she’s a fame whore. Then he dumps her, which teaches you a lesson, ladies: if you like a dude, call him after sex, don’t wait till he’s on national TV to pursue him.  Generalize to your own life situation as needed.

Nick goes back and tells the women that he Had Sex with Liz but now dumped her, and the “To Be Continued” sign comes across the screen.  Next time, we see women crying because of the idea of Nick Having Sex with anyone but them.  And the Bachelorette contestants and the people on Bachelor in Paradise, but whatever.  And till we meet again, I remain, The Blogapist Who Says, You’re a Shoo In For Bachelor in Paradise, Liz.

The Bachelor Has Actually Helped Tons of People Find Lasting Love–Once They’ve Put Their Show Relationships Behind Them

Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert Get Engaged On ‘Bachelor In Paradise’

“Bachelor in Paradise” ended with a bang, as expected.

Contestants Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert got engaged on the finale Monday night. The pair, who dated throughout the entire season, were all smiles as they celebrated on the beach, Jade sporting a new Neil Lane diamond ring on her finger. They stopped by “After Paradise” to chat with hosts Chris Harrison and Jenny Mollen, saying their relationship is better than ever.

“We don’t want to have a long engagement, so …” Jade admitted.

Who knew this would be my last first kiss? #BachelorInParadise

Other couples decided to take a chance at love outside the show, including Samantha Steffen and Nick Peterson and Cassandra Ferguson and Justin Reich. Oddly enough, it was revealed on “After Paradise” that Cassandra actually didn’t end up with Justin, but another “BIP” contestant – Jonathan Holloway. “It’s been about a month, and we’re taking it as slowly as we can,” Holloway told Harrison.

But not everyone found happiness in paradise. Tenley Molzahn and Joshua Albers decided to go their separate ways, as did Carly Waddell and Kirk Dewindt, who had one of the most dramatic breakups in “Bachelor” history on Sunday night’s episode. Kirk “blindsided” Carly, telling her he didn’t feel as strongly for her as she clearly felt for him, despite the fact that they seemingly had a great connection.

“I had no idea … he never gave me any warning signal at all,” Carly said of the split on “After Paradise.” “My reaction [to the breakup], I think, was very valid.”

Kirk apologized to Carly on the after show, saying that he tried to give their relationship a fair shot before realizing he was “behind.” He also took to Twitter to share his side of the story:

Carly pulled a Taylor Swift and released a song about the on-air breakup:

Ah, the drama never ends. Until next summer …

Ben Higgins Named The Next ‘Bachelor’

Ladies, line up, because there’s a new Bachelor in town … and he’s a fan favorite.

Ben Higgins, who was “Bachelorette” star Kaitlyn Bristowe’s third choice, was named the new star of “The Bachelor” on Monday night’s episode of “After Paradise.”

The 26-year-old was pretty much a shoo-in to star on the upcoming season after Bachelor Nation supported his campaign following his exit from “The Bachelorette” on July 13. Although, Season 11’s Nick Viall did give Higgins a run for his money.

“I think he would be a great choice […] I have a lot of respect for Ben H. He is as sweet as everyone thinks he is,” Viall told HuffPost’s “Here to Make Friends” podcast earlier this month. “I might be giving myself too much credit, but Ben kind of reminds me of when I was 26.”

Higgins seemed to be everyone’s No. 1 choice. Even Amy Schumer called into “After Paradise” to wish him luck. “Find love, and then send some my way, OK?” she said.

The software salesman is excited to begin his journey on the show. “It’s incredible. People like me don’t get opportunities like this,” Higgins told Harrison. “I never thought that this opportunity would be something I could have.”

Higgins will be on “Good Morning America” to chat more about his upcoming season on Tuesday morning.

The Women Of ‘The Bachelor’ Are All Of Us (No, Really)

the bachelorette

Last week, just a few days before the premiere of Season 11 of “The Bachelorette,” my colleague Emma Gray and I launched a podcast called “Here To Make Friends,” which recaps the dating reality show with love and snark. (You can listen to our recap of the first episode below.)

From around the newsroom, I received ripples of shock. Some were mostly bemused: “Oh my God, I would never have guessed you watched ‘The Bachelor’!” several colleagues gasped to me. Others were almost concerned. “I just…” said one of my male coworkers, furrowing his brow in consternation, “You seem like a smart person. Why do you watch ‘The Bachelor’?”

I’ve been getting versions of this question since I started live-tweeting the show a couple seasons ago. My unlucky followers must endure two hours of incessant tweets poking fun at contestants’ opening gambits and questionable outfits every Monday night, resulting in not a few unfollows and annoyed replies from my more high-minded friends and acquaintances. “Why do you watch ‘The Bachelor’?”

I was a Books Editor at The Huffington Post when I first started getting this query; the assumption was that 100 percent of my free time (rather than 90 percent) was spent reading. But hey, I’m a multi-dimensional person! People who watch “The Bachelor” also read books. Shocking.

“The Bachelor” won me over slowly when I was living alone in a tiny studio in Brooklyn. Folding laundry and cleaning seemed incredibly tedious — so I’d put on the most recent episode of “The Bachelor” on Hulu, at first barely paying attention as I scrubbed and sorted. Then I realized I was doing a lot of staring, rapt, as the Windex dangled limply in my hand. I was hooked.

Moving to an apartment with a TV changed everything. I could watch each episode in real time — which meant I could live-tweet. Suddenly, every episode of “The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” became my version of the Super Bowl: God help anyone who tried to keep me from being in front of the TV when the cheesy intro started playing. Bring me appropriate snacks (wine, Thai takeout, ice cream) and absolutely do not talk until commercial breaks, if you must watch with me. If you have to say something about the show, I told my (very patient) boyfriend, say it on Twitter.

bachelor in paradise

Can you find love… on a beach? Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul apparently did on the first season of “Bachelor in Paradise”!

Still, why do I watch “The Bachelor”? There are actually a few answers to the question. (Emma has her own response.) Chick flicks and formulaic rom-coms feature among my favorite mindless distractions, and “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” offer a touch of that absurd, over-the-top romantic melodrama — and plenty of snort-worthy gaffes to keep things light.

Once I began live-tweeting, my enjoyment blossomed into something more involved. Nothing felt better than nailing a barb about a particularly outrageous group date (goat milking, anyone?) or getting into quippy exchanges with my new live-tweeting friends. The show felt like both a guilty pleasure and an intellectual exercise, a chance to hone my one-liners and rapid-fire banter.

That wasn’t all, though. As much as we mock the rigid rules and absurd formula of “The Bachelor,” one reason it’s endured so long may be its similarity to the real world of romance. Sure, it’s an exaggerated one — exaggerated to the point where we can barely recognize it — but it enforces and brings out dynamics that many of us experience, in subtler fashion, in our own dating lives.

the bachelor

If you’re lucky, like Whitney Bischoff, you get proposed to on national TV after two months and swept off your feet by a muscle-bound hunk of love like Chris Soules.

When we see a 24-year-old, blonde yoga instructor sobbing after not receiving a rose, wondering if she’ll ever find love, it seems truly laughable, and we laugh. She’s young, and (duh) her success on “The Bachelor” is not a measure of her value. But for many women, a part of us also responds with secret compassion. We’re taught to value our desirability to men so greatly that any rejection can call our self-worth into question; how many of us have spent the weeks or months after a break-up or unrequited crush bemoaning our fated singlehood?

And sure, most dudes don’t date 25 women at once, narrowing them down by eliminating one or two per week, but women today (at least here in NYC) often do complain of the difficulty in finding a relationship when men are seemingly happy to casually date an ever-changing rotation of ladies. After you’ve been on a couple great dates, you don’t need to be on “The Bachelor” to feel the nauseating fear of losing out to a more alluring competitor. (And who hasn’t felt the sting of that asshole who strung you along, made you fall in love with him, told you he wasn’t ready for marriage, then turned around and proposed to some other girl, like, right away?)

the bachelor women tell all

If you’re less lucky, like Kaitlyn Bristowe, you might feel strung along and humiliated, but who’s to say you won’t have the last laugh?

“The Bachelorette” is a different kind of crazy — a bunch of bros trying to pretend they don’t care about a woman, they just want to win, but also they’re there for the right reasons — but still presents plenty of head-scratching yet all-too-familiar vignettes from the world of love. And last night’s two-Bachelorette premiere felt even more familiar, as I watched Kaitlyn side-eye the ground with a forced smile while Britt enveloped suitors in a cloud of silky hair and lipstick. As much as we fight against it and proclaim our inherent self-worth, we all kind of want to be the popular one.

For the smart, intellectually engaged women I know who can’t stop watching this franchise, there’s a certain twisted pleasure in seeing the imbalanced gender dynamics of dating writ large: What might seem so slight an annoyance in our own lives that we’d be petty to mention it becomes a cartoonish offense in “Bachelor World,” and strident analysis seems like fair game. It’s like the Platonic ideal of modern dating, claiming to be evolved and empowering, but packed with degrading expectations and assumptions.

Sometimes it’s depressing, even with white wine and Twitter in hand, to see these worn-out tropes being visited on another generation; the women who must ooze sex appeal while never admitting to having had actual sex, the men who flex their muscles at each other instead of forming relationships. But those problems still exist in our society, and that’s why they exist on “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” The reality shows just make them easier to talk about.

Why Chris Harrison Would Never Go On ‘The Bachelor’

Sorry to dash your hopes “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” fans, but host Chris Harrison has no interest in being the next “Bachelor.”

In an interview with HuffPost Live Monday, the host of the ABC reality show said it doesn’t make sense for him to follow in the footsteps of Juan Pablo, Chris Soules and all the rest.

“Here’s the thing about being ‘The Bachelor’: I believe in it and I love the show,” he said. “But I have been producing this show — hosting it and been behind the curtain — for 13 years. To come on and act like I don’t have any knowledge of how this is put together — you have to have a little sense of naiveté and innocence coming into this. I just know a little too much.”

That said, Harrison admitted he hasn’t had much luck dating since splitting from college sweetheart Gwen in 2012. He called himself “tragically undateable” given his busy schedule. (Hey, we still believe in your journey for love, Chris.)

In an interview with GQ magazine earlier this year, the 43-year-old host entertained the idea of having his ex-wife appear as the next “Bachelorette.”

“Now, there’s an idea,” Harrison said. “There’s a part of me, the producer side, that knows it would be epic television, good or bad. It could be like the Hindenburg — the greatest disaster ever — but even then that would be great TV.”

Watch more from Chris Harrison’s conversation with HuffPost Live here.

All The Times Vulnerable ‘Bachelor’ Contestants Had Their Guards Up, In One Video

And the final rose goes to: Whitney!

During this fairytale season of “The Bachelor,” guards** were let down as vulnerable contestants — who were there for the right reasons — competed to win the heart of their potential future husband, Chris. For Kaitlyn, whose guard** was a topic of constant conversation, Prince Farming was not The One. For Britt, who was woken up in the most vulnerable way, Arlington, Iowa was not in her future. Here’s hoping Kaitlyn and Britt will finally let their guards** down next season on “The Bachelorette!”

**HuffPost Women has yet to confirm what a guard actually is, and how one goes about letting said guard up or down. We feel really vulnerable without this knowledge.

7 Lessons From ‘The Bachelor’ Season 19 Premiere: Chris Soules Is Prince Farming

Welcome back to the wonderful world of white wine tears, roses, grammatical incorrectness and two-month journeys toward engagement. That’s right, “The Bachelor” has returned — this time with Chris Soules, the all-American, corn-loving #PrinceFarming at its helm. This season, we’ll be recapping the highlights of each episode.

7 Things We Learned From Farmer Chris’ Premiere

1. “Love is a lot like farming.” Plow her field? Plant a seed (of love)? We can look forward to many farming-related puns in the weeks to come. Farmer Chris will never live down his choice of career in the “Bachelor” world, but we’re OK with that.

2. Arlington, Iowa is filled with old white men, Chris Soules, and one hairstyle for women. We got to catch a few glimpses of Chris’ hometown, where his future lady love will presumably move. (Our fair Bachelor is a commercial farmer, so there’s no way he’s leaving his quaint 400-person town — and his livelihood — for the big city … or medium city … or large village.) Last night we saw Chris hangin’ with his bros, who happen to be white dudes exclusively over the age of 65, and we were introduced to a few women Chris grew up with. Spoiler alert: They all had Kate Gosselin hairdos.

3. Not every event needs a red carpet. For some confusing reason, ABC decided that two hours of “The Bachelor” wasn’t enough. Apparently, what the premiere really needed was an hour-long live red carpet where old “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” contestants loitered, chatted it up with Chris Harrison and took selfies with screaming women. To the powers that be: Please never do this again.

4. Sport Fishing Enthusiast is a viable career path. Who knew? Add this to the list of creative faux careers featured on “The Bachelor” franchise. Prince Farming’s cast of “amazing women” also includes a freelance journalist, an executive assistant, a chiropractic assistant, a dental assistant (who has a son named Kale), a news producer, a cruise ship singer, a flight attendant, a fertility nurse, a widowed guidance counselor and a crazy-eyed ballet instructor. True diversity … of jobs. There’s still only one woman of color in the 30.

5. It’s acceptable to discuss baby-making and/or human tissue on a first date. Other topics of conversation on last night’s premiere included the complexity of onions, Chris’ karaoke selections (Tim McGraw and Faith Hill songs), the six-step and the parallels between the holidays and “The Bachelor.” “It’s like Christmas morning, except your presents are women,” exclaims one of Chris’ suitors. No. NoNoNoNoNo.

6. Great first impressions are rewarded … with kisses. Hollywood waitress Britt, who according to her ABC profile loves Dave Eggers and David Foster Wallace, which will really earn her some brownie points with the snarky Twitter crowd, snagged both the first impression rose and the first kiss from our farmer. “I actually really like you!” she says. (No worries, Britt. We’re surprised too.)

7. If you get rejected, it’s probably best to accept defeat and move on. After Chris made the “gut-wrenching” decision to send home eight of the women he’d gotten to spend three minutes chit-chatting with — the emotional horror! — one of the contestants refused to slink off into the 6am sunrise limo. Kimberly (we think that’s her name?) returned to pull Chris aside, though we won’t see the inevitable uncomfortable outcome until next week.
