Victoria Beckham Heads to Toronto for Suzanne Rogers Event

O CANADA!: Victoria Beckham will pack her clothing trunks and head to Toronto in November as the special guest in the fifth series of Suzanne Rogers Presents events, WWD has learned. An announcement is expected Wednesday.
Beckham follows in the path of Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa and Zac Posen, who have all taken part in the charity fund-raising series that Rogers started in 2010.
To date, Rogers’ events have raised more than $ 3 million for charities fighting children’s poverty and supporting a spectrum of health and education programs for young people.
The November edition will be cohosted by Rogers and the event chair, philanthropist Sylvia Mantella. The celebration will include an “intimate fashion presentation” with Beckham, followed by a seated luncheon, according to organizers.
“I am so pleased that Victoria has accepted the invitation to come to come to Toronto and deeply appreciate her personal commitment and generosity in supporting our children’s charities,” Rogers said.
Proceeds will benefit Camp Ooch, which gives children affected by childhood cancer unique opportunities for growth through special experiences, and The Penelope Neuroblastoma Foundation, which funds brain tumor research, and provides support for families affected by this type of childhood illness.

Victoria Beckham RTW Fall 2019

Victoria Beckham staged the show at one of her favorite London places, Tate Britain, and its soaring ceilings and studious air made a fitting backdrop for the designer’s fall collection, which had a bookish, Seventies feel to it. The designer took her bow in a trouser-and-sweater combo, layered over a white shirt with a long, pointy collar and cuffs.
Beckham’s gal took to the runway in checked pencil skirts or flared trousers, some paired with fuzzy argyle knits or cropped ones in Easter egg tones of turquoise, purple and lilac. Many of them were layered over white blouses with those snazzy Seventies collars. There was a rich lineup of dresses, too, which Beckham said is the core of the business.
They came with fuzzy sweater tops and woven skirts, or in breezy chain-printed silk with a gently gathered waist, while nubby knit ones hugged all the right curves. Coats made a strong statement, too: bright red with high slashes at the back or a camel number that could transform into a cape. A standout check wool one had a delicate dusting of sequins at the hem.
Beckham, who launched her YouTube channel Sunday morning with a live stream of the show, said she

Victoria Beckham Amps Up Direct-to-Consumer Strategy With Focus on Editorial Content

LONDON — Victoria Beckham, who is shifting her brand strategy to focus on a digital-first, direct-to-consumer approach, has named Edward Barsamian head of editorial, a new role.
Barsamian, who previously worked at The New York Times and was most recently American Vogue’s style editor, will work with Victoria Beckham’s chief communications officer on developing content across the brand’s platforms, as well as spearheading events and special projects.
The idea is to translate Beckham’s voice and vision through various platforms and create content that is representative of the audience she has built over the last 10 years. The move recognizes editorial content as a key ingredient of the direct-to-consumer recipe, which requires continuous communication with customers and plenty of storytelling to keep them engaged.
“It is a privilege to champion a female-led, digitally minded business and I am looking forward to working with Victoria and her team to develop and expand its global reach to consumers,” said Barsamian, whose appointment is effective immediately.
Beckham has also been working on a YouTube channel as part of her company’s new focus on content.
“It’s going to be everything from fashion to beauty. I am going to have cameras following me around whilst I am on the road, there will

Victoria Beckham Slams Divorce Rumors as She Poses with David Beckham: ‘We’re Stronger Together’

Victoria Beckham isn’t concerned about the constant divorce rumors that plague her marriage.

The fashion designer and former singer appears on the latest cover of British Vogue along with husband David Beckham and their four kids: daughter Harper Seven, 7, and sons Cruz David, 13, Romeo James, 16, and Brooklyn Joseph, 19.

“People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years, so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal,” she said. “But these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and that’s unfair.”

Victoria and David married in July 1999 with four-month-old Brooklyn serving as ring bearer. They last faced split rumors earlier this summer, which their spokesperson quickly denied.

“We both realize that we are stronger together than we are as individuals,” Victoria continued. “Would either of us be in the position that we are in now had we not met and been together all those years ago? It’s all about the family unit. We are much stronger the six of us, than we would be if we were individuals. We respect that family bond and that is key.”

“Happy Birthday Romeo! Can’t believe our baby is 16 today!” the fashion designer wrote alongside a snapshot of the mother-son pair posing together in front of a sunset.

In a second festive image, Romeo sat in front of a bunch of silver and white balloons (as well as a table piled high with presents!), while in another, she showed off the birthday boy’s tennis-themed cake.

Victoria Beckham, Alexa Chung, Bobby Abley Join London Fashion Week Schedule

LONDON — Victoria Beckham is just one of the new names to join the London Fashion Week women’s calendar in September, according to the preliminary LFW schedule, which is now on the British Fashion Council’s web site.
Other newcomers include Alexa Chung, who has been eschewing the traditional show schedule in favor of themed events hosted around the world and a see-now-buy-now format, and men’s wear talents Bobby Abley and Kiko Kostadinov.
Burberry will host its seasonal show on Sept. 17 and though not new to the lineup, all eyes will be on the brand this season since this will be the first show from new creative director Riccardo Tisci.
Beckham will host her spring 2019 show in London on the morning of Sept. 16 and mark the 10-year anniversary of her business. The company also said that more events, exclusive pieces and other activations will take place throughout the year to celebrate the brand’s decade.
The contemporary label Rixo London, best known for its mid-priced printed dresses, will be hosting a see-now-buy-now presentation during the five-day event, which runs from September 14 to 18, while emerging men’s wear labels Bobby Abley and Kiko Kostadinov are also taking the September plunge as they dip

Victoria Beckham Resort 2019

In her 10th anniversary year, Beckham is aiming to increasingly connect with her customer, listening closely to what she’s asking for, and hoping to cater to her everyday dressing needs. The designer was animated during a walk-through at her new headquarters in west London, talking about how much fun she had with guests during a recent trunk show at Scott’s restaurant on Mount Street. She said the show really got her thinking about “what my customer wants and likes, and about what I can give her.”
The collection was filled with glammed-up everyday silhouettes and the clean lines Beckham loves so much. There was an abstract cowhide print on a long white silk dress, and cream and red versions of the navy, buckle-neck blue dress with the slashed sleeves that Beckham wore to the royal wedding last month. She’s planning a limited run of those — by popular demand from customers — which will land in stores next month.
There were snappy, tailored wool gabardine suits, raw Japanese denim worked into a vest and a fabulous trench, and “a good, well-fitting pair of leather trousers,” which the designer said is not so easy to find these days. There was also a lineup

Victoria Victoria Beckham RTW Fall 2018

Victoria Beckham channeled her love of contemporary art into this soft-edged, colorful collection that was inspired by the colors and creations of Jean-Michel Basquiat and David Hockney.
“I’m always inspired by contemporary art, and I think that you can feel that when you look at some of the prints. There’s also a bit of a Warhol feel about this collection with all the Polaroids,” said the designer, pulling out a midi skirt with a repeating pattern of blurred Polaroid images taken by the artist Maripol of Basquiat and his peers.
The collection also drew from the color palettes of both artists, in the form of a cornflower blue chunky corduroy jacket and a long corn-colored coat with a zip front and big patch pockets. Beckham went big on burgundy, too, in the form of a soft shearling motorcycle jacket and buttery leather tops and dresses.
The collection was full of textural contrasts, with a chunky fisherman’s knit sweater hanging on a rail near a snappy gold pleated skirt at the presentation space at Mark’s Club in Mayfair.
“VVB is easy to wear, with lots of soft tailoring pieces, and I always like to have fun with it as well. It’s making dressing easy for

Victoria Beckham Gears Up for 10-Year Anniversary, Plans London Show

LONDON — Victoria Beckham plans to mark her decade in business with a series of events, including a 10th anniversary fashion show during London Fashion Week in September.
The big year will start with a change to the way Beckham shows her collections. The company said fall will be showcased via “intimate presentations” at the James Burden Mansion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, recalling the early appointments Beckham held in New York for the then-fledgling business.
The show will take place during London Fashion Week in September, which runs from the 14th to the 18th of the month. The company said it plans to mark the anniversary with other initiatives throughout the year, including special pieces and activations.
The 10-year anniversary comes just months after Victoria Beckham Ltd. brought in NEO Investment Partners, a private investment firm based in London, as a new shareholder.
The 30 million pound investment from NEO has been earmarked to enhance the brand’s digital and physical retail presence, drive growth in core categories and launch into new categories and collaborations. The company also plans to move to new west London premises in the spring.

Victoria Beckham, Nina Garcia and More from the Fashion World Mourn Death of Designer Azzedine Alaïa

Some of fashion’s biggest names paid tribute to Tunisian-born couturier and shoe designer Azzedine Alaïa, who died Saturday in a Paris hospital after experiencing a bad fall 10 days prior according to a French media report in Le Point. He was 77.

Dubbed “the King of Cling,” Alaïa made a name for himself for his distinctive takes on classic silhouettes, his garments often moulding the body into remarkable and eye-catching proportions.

“I don’t cut clothes for a board,” Alaïa told PEOPLE in 1982. “The body of a woman is sublime. I follow it.”

Alaïa began his career studying sculpture at the Institut Supérieur des Beaux Arts in Tunis. He entered into fashion as a dress-maker’s assistant — eventually moving to Paris in 1957 and working for Christian Dior. He would go on to work for Guy Laroche and Thierry Mugler before he broke out on his own and opened an atelier in the 1970s, dressing Hollywood stars in like Greta Garbo and Marie-Hélène de Rothschild.

It wasn’t until 1980 that he produced her first ready-to-wear collection, with couture leather-moulded pieces that would launch his name as a global brand. Over the years he would continue to make a name for himself for refusing to play by fashion’s rules, even eschewing the industry’s traditional seasonal collection calendars, which he retired from in 1992.

Still he was wildly popular with celebrities, including Kim Kardashian who often wore his designs. His last collection (and first since 2011) dropped in July, with Naomi Campbell making a rare catwalk appearance.

Victoria Beckham, Project Runway judge Nina Garcia, Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, and Patrik Sandberg were just some of the names sharing memories of Alaïa on social media Saturday as news of his passing spread.

“A sad day. Rest in peace #azzedinealaia,” Beckham wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of Alaïa. “You were a true master and one of my biggest inspirations.”

“A fashion legend and true original. We will miss this creative genius,” Garcia said, sharing the same photo of Alaïa as Beckham.

Engelbert posted a series of photos of the two to Instagram. “Azzedine Rest in Peace, my N1 favorite,” she wrote in their caption. “My heart is broken, GENIUS #azzedinealaia @azzedinealaiaofficial. He is going to continue to make dresses for goddesses and Angels up in the sky now.”

Added Ines de la Fressange on Twitter of the 5-ft. 2-in. designer: “Small in size but huge in fashion. Farewell Azzedine Alaïa.”

Victoria Beckham Partners With Reebok, Plans Collaboration for Next Year

BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM: With her new deal with Reebok, Victoria Beckham is the latest designer to link up with a major athletic brand.
The British-born designer let her 17.6 million Instagram followers know by posting a video of herself wearing the Club C sneakers outside of the company’s new Boston headquarters. She made the most of her first day on the scene, hosting an all-company meeting, touring the office, checking out the brand’s archives and holding initial design and planning meetings.
The choice of Beckham is meant to further Reebok’s message of women’s empowerment, which includes a roster of internationally known personalities like Ariana Grande, Gigi Hadid, Aly Raisman and Teyana Taylor. With four children and a multimillion-dollar business, Beckham would appear to have little time for exercise. Whippet-lean as she is, Beckham has spoken publicly about her daily two-hour morning workouts and healthy diet. Reebok executives undoubtedly approve of that regimen. The fact that Beckham’s designs are meant to relay a sense of strength, confidence and power also met their approval.
Beckham said, “I have always championed instilling confidence in women and Reebok is a brand that has been at the forefront of this same message for decades. To have the

Victoria Victoria Beckham Resort 2018

Remember when Victoria Beckham launched Victoria Victoria Beckham — then known as Victoria by Victoria Beckham — as a light, flirty lineup of girly dresses to accompany her main line? That was a while ago — 2012 to be exact — and the collection has come a long way. There were a few dresses for resort, such as a gold-sequined T-shirt style and a mixed stripe knit tank, but otherwise, the dominant mood was cool separates worn a little loose and boyish, that reflect Beckham’s own evolution toward sophisticated modernist sportswear.
“When we merged VVB and Denim two years ago I was responding to a customer desire to develop the category beyond a dress offer,” Beckham said. “In the past two years, the collection has continued to expand into more lifestyle categories. And we’ve established pieces such as cotton shirting, outwear, knitwear, easy dress shapes, embroidered sweatshirts, all pieces that are now synonymous with VVB season on season.”
There was a mild Seventies vibe to disco sequins and graphic gold, orange and blue zig-zag stripes printed on a fluid oversized shirt worn with bold blue slouchy pants. “Thinking about the time at which this collection drops, which is just before Christmas, I was keen to

James Corden Roasts David Beckham For Matching Outfits With Posh

We’ve all committed a few fashion faux pas we’d rather not recall. But James Corden isn’t letting David Beckham forget his for a second.

On his show this week, the comedian busted out a throwback photo series of David and his wife Victoria Beckham in coordinating outfits, in anticipation of the couple’s 18th wedding anniversary next month.

Corden was a merciless fashion cop, poking fun at the matching purple ensembles the couple wore on their wedding day in 1999.

He also had choice words for some some revealing pants-and-top combos they sported on the red carpet two years later.

Beckham refused to apologize for the duo’s outfits of yore.

“I’m not saying I regret them because at the time, it felt right,” he told Corden. “Now, I’m not so sure.”

See some of the pair’s highlights ― or are they lowlights? ― below and in the video above.

David Beckham Hits Shanghai for Kent & Curwen

SHANGHAI — David Beckham is bringing a touch of British heritage to Shanghai with the global launch of Kent & Curwen’s fall collection as well as a capsule line for Lane Crawford called Shanghai Club.
The British sports superstar and Kent & Curwen creative director Daniel Kearns attended a lavish cocktail event, which was attended by Chinese model Hu Bing along with other Chinese KOLs and held at The Waterhouse at South Bund. They also launched the Shanghai Club capsule collection at a pop-up store in Lane Crawford.
This visit marked Beckham’s first appearance in China on behalf of the men’s wear brand and was part of the extended rollout of the fall collection, with the spring line, the first collaboration between Beckham and Kearns, already available in the country. Beckham is part owner of the British heritage men’s wear brand, which was founded in 1926, after an agreement was made between Seven Global, his joint venture with business partner Simon Fuller, and Global Brands Group Holding Ltd., a spin-off of Li & Fung at the end of 2014.

Beckham, Kors and Hilfiger Score Highest in Digital Engagements on Show Day

Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger took the top three spots in digital engagement on their respective show days, according to research by ListenFirst Media.
ListenFirst tracks digital engagement data from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, Wikipedia and Google + on the designers’ respective show days.
Beckham, who showed Feb. 12, ranked first with 1.5 million engagements that day, more than the next three top ranking fashion brands combined. The success on Beckham’s show on social is attributed to her content strategy — posting more content on Feb. 12 than any other New York Fashion Week brand, and having the No. 1 most popular posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, according to ListenFirst.
Kors, which showed at Spring Studios on Feb. 15, came in second place, with 967.9 million digital engagements. While 90 percent of those engagements were earned on Instagram, the brand dominated multiple channels relative to his NYFW cohorts that day, driving 21 percent of all engagements earned by the set on Feb. 15 and posting the day’s most engaging NYFW related posts across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Effective content included behind the scenes photos of celebrities and models and live streams of the runway shows across social. Kors’ engagement

David Beckham and UNICEF Fight Back Over Alleged Hacked Emails: ‘Let the Facts Speak for Themselves’

David Beckham is responding to reports he allegedly used his UNICEF charity work to campaign for a knighthood.

“This story is based on outdated material taken out of context from hacked and doctored private emails from a third party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture,” a spokesperson for Beckham tells PEOPLE in a statement.

“David and UNICEF have had a powerful partnership in support of children for over 15 years. The David Beckham 7 Fund specifically has raised millions of pounds and helped millions of vulnerable children around the world,” the statement continued.

Beckham has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005.

On Friday, British newspaper The Sun published reportedly leaked emails between Beckham and his publicist from 2013 where they discussed the soccer star working on securing a knighthood in 2013. (Beckham was awarded an OBE, or Order of the British Empire, in 2003.) After Beckham allegedly complained that British singer Katherine Jenkins was awarded an OBE and calling it “a f—— joke,” Beckham’s rep urged him to focus his energy on his charitable efforts.

Beckham also allegedly railed against the committee who decides who get the honors, calling them “a bunch of c—-” and saying he “expected nothing less.”

“It’s a disgrace to be honest and if I was American I would of got something like this ten years ago,” Beckham allegedly said.

In February 2015, Beckham launched the 7 Fund to raise funds and awareness for vulnerable children by focusing on seven different countries and seven different initiatives.

“David has given significant time and energy and has made personal financial donations to the 7 Fund and this commitment will continue long term,” the statement added. “Before establishing the 7 Fund, David had supported UNICEF and a number of other charities over many years, including donating his entire earnings from PSG during his time playing there.”

Concluding, “David and UNICEF are rightly proud of what they have and will continue to achieve together and are happy to let the facts speak for themselves.”

On Friday, UNICEF released a statement, defending their partnership with Beckham.

“Some reports relate to alleged private correspondence between our ambassador and other parties, which we have not seen and cannot comment upon,” the statement read. “David Beckham has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005, and as well as generously giving his time, energy and support to help raise awareness and funds for UNICEF’s work for children, David has given significant funds personally.”

The organization also noted Beckham’s last UNICEF trip in June 2016 when he traveled to Africa to visit children living with HIV, who are receiving support from his charity 7 and UNICEF.

In addition to his reported complaints about not getting a knighthood, the alleged emails also included Beckham’s supposed reluctance to donate his own money to charity and his rep urging the soccer star not to post a photo of his gold-plated laptop on social media so as not to ruin his “man of the people” reputation.

Victoria Beckham to Be Named in the Queen’s Honors List

ROYAL ACCOLADE: Although Queen Elizabeth’s annual New Year’s honors list is yet to be released, it appears one person is already planning her visit to Buckingham Palace.
According to the Daily Mail, Victoria Beckham will be named an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, or OBE, in the Queen’s New Year’s honors list, which is set to be released on Saturday.
According to the British tabloid, the British designer revealed the news to her family over the Christmas holiday, saying that she is “delighted and humbled for the recognition.” The honor recognizes Beckham’s contributions to the British economy and to charity.
The designer’s husband, David Beckham was handed an OBE 13 years ago for his services to British sport.
A spokesperson for Beckham did not return requests for comment.

Victoria and David Beckham Wore Matching Black Tuxedos at British Fashion Awards 2015

While Victoria and David Beckham haven’t always had success with matching outfits (the matching leather duds the duo wore at the 1999 Gucci show aren’t remembered fondly), the couple gave it another go at last night’s British Fashion Awards. Victoria, nominated for the womenswear designer award, wore a tux jacket from her own label. While we would have loved to see that sharp look strut across the stage, sadly she didn’t get to take home a statuette; the honor went to J.W. Anderson.

Even if we expect to see Victoria looking posh and pretty perfect all the time, it’s a different story in her home life. We melted over the fact that she greeted a recent interviewer in sweatpants, and David’s copped to preferring his wife casual (ideally in jeans and Adidas sneakers).

Beyond the whole looks-good-in-a-tux thing, come see why David Beckham so rightly deserved People‘s sexiest man label this year.

Victoria Beckham Reveals the Spice Girl Outfit She’s Never Wearing Again

There’s no denying that today’s Victoria Beckham is one very, very stylish lady. But the VB of days gone by? Not necessarily. When the designer was known as the Spice Girls‘ Posh, she had plenty of outfits she’d likely cringe at now, including one that she won’t be bringing in as design inspiration any time soon.

“I’m not sure that any of my particular looks from the ’90s will be inspiring. They will probably be horrifying [to] most of my team,” she told WWD. “I wouldn’t say my PVC catsuits would be reappearing, put it that way.”

There won’t be any reason to figure out what reformed Posh would wear today either, as Beckham squashes the forever-ongoing rumors of a reunion (sad!).

“I really support [them] in everything they do, and they’re so supportive of what I’m doing, but I couldn’t possibly do that,” she said of getting the band back together. “It was great when we did the Olympics, but I won’t be doing that anymore.”

Victoria performing in a catsuit, 1998

The proud mum also explained that for son Brooklyn, a burgeoning model, it’s about being so much more than a pretty face. “He’s just finished his GCSEs [U.K. high school exams], and so he’s done a couple of shoots. He loves photography and art, so for him when he does the occasional shoot, it’s more than just him having his picture taken.”

Victoria Beckham is Selling Some of Harper’s Clothes

Victoria Beckham went through daughter Harper‘s closet to pick 25 full outfits that will be sold next weekend to benefit Save the Children, reports Grazia.

As a Beckham, Harper’s guaranteed to have a chic closet and this lot proves the point (think Marc Jacobs, Chloé, Gucci, and more). Since the little outfits come pre-paired and styled, here’s an interesting opportunity to see how VB puts clothes together. The clothing is all tot-sized, of course, but there’s a grown-up lesson to be found in the sophisticated combos.

It’s not the first time Posh has purged closets for charity—she donated 600 of her own pieces last summer, though she was sure to set aside some items with nostalgia value for Harper. The upcoming June sale, held in London’s Primrose Hill neighborhood, will feature some items from another Spice Girl offspring as well. Mel C. (Sporty!) donated some pieces as well.

DVF, Victoria Beckham to Headline Singapore Fashion Week

SINGAPORE  (Reuters) – Designers Victoria Beckham and Diane von Furstenberg headline Singapore’s celebrity-studded fashion week in May, putting the spotlight on a new partnership with a U.S. industry group that promotes homegrown talent and designer labels.
Organizers of the five-day annual fashion week said they had tied up this year with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), headed by Furstenberg, to nurture emerging designers in Singapore and help showcase their talent abroad.
The CFDA has been a treasure trove of new labels in the past, having produced celebrated international designers such as Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Phillip Lim.
This year’s Singapore Fashion Week (SFW), previously known as the Audi Fashion Festival Singapore, is the first in its new avatar. Hollywood star Cate Blanchett and South Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye are among the celebrities attending.
“Singapore Fashion Week allows us to stand shoulder to shoulder with all the international fashion labels that we aspire to be like,” SFW chairman Tjin Lee said on Friday. “But with the name change also comes great responsibility, and a greater sense of having to build the industry, by empowering and training designers.”
Less well-known fashion labels Ong Shunmugam, Elohim and Dzojchen have been chosen this year
