Mark Zunino Teams up with Bridal Reflections, Dresses ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Hosts for Red Carpet

Living and designing in Beverly Hills, Mark Zunino has seen the extremes celebrities rely on for red-carpet dressing and he wants consumers to avoid them.
With Mark Zunino Atelier, a new red-carpet inspired bridal and eveningwear collection, the designer wants women to have figure-flattering looks by choosing a well-constructed gown. Architecture was his course of study at Pepperdine, but accepting an undergrad job at Nolan Miller’s assistant altered his career plans. At that time in the Eighties, Miller designed costumes for the glitzy hit show “Dynasty.” Catering to clients like Sophia Loren, Bette Davis, Ann-Margret and Lana Turner (whom Miller was engaged to at one point), “we were so Hollywood engulfed. We were flying around globally,” Zunino said, during a preview of his wedding gowns at Bridal Reflections’ Fifth Avenue flagship. A one-year commitment led to a decades-long one, with Zunino eventually buying the rights to Emmy-winning Miller’s company. Miller died in 2012.
Traces of his designs for such celebrity clients as Jennifer Lopez can be seen in such unexpected bridal styles as a beaded open-back jumpsuit. With eveningwear retailing for upwards of $ 6,000 and wedding dresses starting at $ 8,000, the collection is being sold exclusively through Bridal Reflections, a three-store operation

16 Oscars Red Carpet Looks You Forgot Happened

Every year, the Oscars red carpet produces a number of standout looks that stand the course of time.
However, there are also looks that leave the cultural lexicon soon after the ceremony, but are still memorable in their own right.
For example, take Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon’s look at last year’s Academy Awards. Before Timothée Chalamet and Michael B. Jordan championed the harness during this year’s awards season, Rippon was seen sporting the look under a tuxedo, created by Moschino.

Before she was nominated for any Oscars, Nicole Kidman established herself as a red-carpet standout in 1997, when she arrived to the ceremony wearing one of John Galliano’s first designs as creative director at Dior: a chartreuse-colored silk dress with floral embroidery.

There were also the red-carpet flops, such as Juliette Lewis’ ill-advised cornrows in 1992 and Faith Hill’s rainbow Versace gown in 2002, and the more creative costumes, like costume designer Lizzy Gardiner’s American Express dress from 2004.

Chanel at the Oscars: 13 Iconic Karl Lagerfeld-Designed Red Carpet Looks

Karl Lagerfeld was a master of many things, from design to photography — but his red-carpet looks were especially spectacular. With the Academy Awards coming up on Sunday, WWD looks back at the late designer’s most memorable Chanel looks at the Oscars.
Historically, Lagerfeld’s take on Oscar fashion was about clean silhouettes and a neutral color palette fused with intricate, couture details such as embroidery and beading, as seen on the likes of Diane Kruger, Sarah Jessica Parker and Pharrell Williams.
Julianne Moore wore Chanel couture dresses back-to-back for her best actress win in 2015, and then again to present in 2016. Lagerfeld created a custom look in 2018 for Margot Robbie, for whom he designed a minimalist white gown with off-the-shoulder crystal embroidery, to critical acclaim.
Perhaps the most newsworthy Chanel look at the Oscars, however, came in 2001 when Jennifer Lopez wore a sweeping taupe ballgown with a transparent bodice. Only in Hollywood.

Karl Lagerfeld’s Best Chanel Red Carpet Looks of All Time

Karl Lagerfeld has designed no shortage of memorable red carpet looks.
The late Chanel fashion designer was tasked with dressing both his muses, such as Cara Delevingne and Keira Knightley, along with A-list celebrities during awards season, including Emma Stone and Margot Robbie.

No stranger to the Met Gala red carpet, Lagerfeld was responsible for the looks for both Yara Shahidi and Lily-Rose Depp’s first times attending the annual costume event. Shahidi, for example, attended her first Met Gala last year wearing a Chanel Couture tulle dress with an intricate full-length beading.

Chanel spokeswomen, Julianne Moore and Marion Cotillard, also have a long history of being dressed in Lagerfeld’s creations. Most notably, Moore picked up her first Academy Award in 2015 wearing a Chanel Couture gown made with 80,000 sequins.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Her Twin Daughters Hit the Red Carpet — See the Adorable Photos

Sweeties in the city!

On Thursday, Sarah Jessica Parker brought two special guests with her to the New York City Ballet’s Spring Gala: 8-year-old twin daughters Tabitha and Marion!

The mother-daughter trio looked close as can be as they walked the red carpet, holding hands while posing for photographers.

Parker, 53, wore a cream-colored knee-length dress with sheer sleeves and a Peter Pan-collar, and pulled her long blonde locks up in a ballet-inspired bun. She paired the look with silver sparkly pumps.

Her twins each had their own floral dresses — one in white and the other in blue. They coordinated with matching bags, rose patterned shoes and headbands that held back their hair.

Parker’s husband Matthew Broderick and the couple’s 15-year-old son James Wilkie skipped the soiree, making the evening a girls’ night out.

Prior to the event, Parker shared photos of the gals getting ready on Instagram — zooming in on their hair and shoes.

“Special night @nycballet and my wee dates are getting ready,” she wrote. “Shoes moving toward @nycballet Spring gala. With my gals.”

The New York City Ballet’s 2018 Spring Gala paid homage to famed choreographer and dancer Jerome Robbins as part of a year-long celebration marking the centennial of his birth called “Robbins 100.” Robbins was one of the NYCB’s co-founding choreographers.

Guests began the event sipping Ruinart champagne at a cocktail reception before sitting for a program that included two world premieres. An elegant seated supper ball followed.

Parker and Broderick both served on the NYCB’s  2018 Spring Gala Honorary Committee, which helped orchestrate the elegant fundraising event. Other celebrities on the panel included Annaleigh Ashford, Laura Benanti, Kristin Chenoweth, Sutton Foster, Victor Garber, Jake Gyllenhaal, Patti LuPone, Shirley MacLaine, Audra McDonald, Mandy Moore, Chita Rivera, Stephen Sondheim, Barbra Streisand, and Parker’s former Sex and the City costar Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Out of This World: Cast Sparkles on the Red Carpet at Star Wars: The Last Jedi Premiere

There’s no dark side to this red carpet.

The ladies of Star Wars: The Last Jedi came out in full force for the movie’s world premiere at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Saturday, dazzling in looks inspired by the beloved series.

Daisy Ridley, who again plays Rey in the latest installment, took the celestial theme literally, donning a dark strapless Monse dress adored with sequins and white star embellishments. Starting at the thigh, the 25-year-old’s floor-length dress became fringe — which showed off glimpses of her legs and strappy metallic heels as she made her way into the screening.

And because Lupita Nyong’o voices the animated Maz Kanata, the actress took full advantage of showing her face — and her legs! — at the movie’s premiere. The Oscar-winner turned heads in a seafoam green dress by Halpern. The strapless number featured a high slit that flaunted her frame — and a touch of purple lipstick sealed the deal.

Billie Lourd was a can’t-miss in metallic, donning a sleeveless silver gown on the red carpet. Her hair was styled in an elaborate up-do, reminiscent of a look her late mother Carrie Fisher wore in The Force Awakens.

Her turn in The Last Jedi marks the final appearance in the iconic franchise for Fisher, who wrapped filming for the movie last year prior to her December 2016 death. Lourd, who plays Lieutenant Connix, walked the red carpet alongside her father, Hollywood talent agent Bryan Lourd.

Laura Dern traded her character’s purple hair for her signature blonde locks at the premiere. The new addition to the Star Wars family stepped out in a strapless black lace dress.

Gwendoline Christie didn’t let her 6’3″ frame stop her from rocking some beige heels along with her Gucci gown. The silver dress with long-sleeves featured a high slit for Captain Phasma to give a peek of what’s under her armor.

The eighth Star Wars installment also sees the return of Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson and Andy Serkis.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters Dec. 15.

All Grown Up! Angelina Jolie Walks Hand-in-Hand with Older Daughters Shiloh and Zahara on the Red Carpet

Angelina Jolie hit the red carpet Friday night with two special ladies by her side: daughters Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Zahara Jolie-Pitt.

The mother-daughter trio looked close as can be as they smiled and posed for photographers at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres where The Breadwinner, the upcoming animated film about a headstrong young girl in Afghanistan who disguises herself as a boy in order to provide for her family, was having its Los Angeles premiere. (Jolie served as a producer on the film.)

Jolie, 42, wore a white Ulyana Sergeenko demi-couture crêpe dress with three-quarter length sleeves. The Oscar winner accessorized the look with a diamond ribbon brooch and cream pumps.

Shiloh, 11, wore an all-black ensemble  — which included a long-sleeve button-down collared shirt, vest, and slacks. The short-haired pre-teen carried a black backpack on her shoulders, and wore a two necklaces over her shirt.

Zahara also wore an all-black outfit. Her look was a flowing sheer asymmetrical gown which she wore over a black mini slip dress. The 12-year-old paired the frock with ankle-length lace-up boots.

Much has changed over the last year in Jolie’s life, but her dedication to her children has remained constant. After filing for divorce from Brad Pitt on Sept. 19, 2016, Jolie retreated from the spotlight to focus on her family as they worked to heal from the traumatic split.

“I have had my ups and downs. I guess I am a little bit stronger,” the actress, director and philanthropist told PEOPLE in September. “We all have our difficult times, but as a mother you also have a responsibility first and foremost towards the kids. They are going through their formative years and everything else comes second to that.”

RELATED VIDEO: Angelina Jolie Opens Up to PEOPLE About Her ‘Difficult’ Year: ‘I Am a Little Bit Stronger’

And while Jolie plans on taking on more acting roles in the future, including Maleficent 2, she said her priority remains her children (aside from Zahara and Shiloh, Jolie is also mother to Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Vivienne and Knox, 9).

“Everything will be around the children,” she said. “I haven’t worked for over a year now because they needed me home. Everything was just stopped. I’m really sitting and talking with them because everything affects them. Every location, every type of project, I’m going to have to adjust it to however much they can handle.”

The Breadwinner hits theaters Nov. 17.

Rihanna Opts for a More Understated After Party Look After Showing Off Some Major Cleavage on the Valerian Red Carpet

Rihanna has never shied away from a major dose of drama in her evening wear. Whether she’s casually gliding over subway grates in staggeringly high lace-up stilettos, picking up her CFDA Icon award in a completely sheer Swarovski-encrusted dress, do-rag and thong, or casually attending Coachella in a fresh off the runway glittering unitard from brand of the moment Gucci, the pop star doesn’t exactly do low-key dressing. So when it comes to celebrating her new film Valerian, her outfits are nothing short of show-stopping as she proved at both the movie’s after party and on the red, er blue, carpet in London.

After watching her performance on the big screen, the bad gal headed to the St. Martins Lane Hotel to fete the film with her cast mates, letting her breasts breath a little in a much looser dress after giving some Jane Mansfield-level cleavage at the premiere earlier that day. To celebrate, Riri wore a breezy, silver, spaghetti strap slip dress with a matching silver duster, silver heels, and a fringed metal purse.

Of course, this after party look was in sharp contrast to the one she wore to the movie’s premiere, a voluminous, red Giambattista Valli dress with off-the-shoulder straps, a deep-V neckline and plenty of cleavage. She paired the gown with diamonds from Chopard and Jimmy Choo shoes.

RELATED PHOTOS: The 29 Most Rihanna Outfits in Honor of Her 29th Birthday

But Rihanna wasn’t the only red carpet icon in attendance at the film premiere on Monday night.

One of Valerian‘s stars Cara Delevingne also made an appearance, finding a brand new way to play with her recently shorn hair, this time in a platinum blonde pixie cut wig which she secured with a black ribbon headband. She paired the dramatic do with an equally statement making, perfectly tailored suit from Burberry and an ornate shoulder-spanning diamond necklace. But just because she looks serious on the step and repeat doesn’t mean the model turned actress takes herself all that seriously, giving a shoutout on Instagram to John Drops who recreated her look with a pair of silver sneakers, a silver wig, and a couple of black ribbons, creating an impossible game of ‘Who Wore It Better?’

Jennifer Lopez Knocks Red Carpet Gown Out Of The Park At Billboard Latin Music Awards

Jennifer Lopez hit a few home runs of her own at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Given her romance with Yankees great Alex Rodriguez, we thought a few baseball metaphors might be in order.

It’s fair to say she swung for the fashion fences on the red carpet Thursday at the awards in Miami, wearing a net-like gown that barely covered all the bases.

And it was a hit, People said.

Take a look:

The ensemble got an assist  from Jimmy Choo heels. Her stylists Rob and Mariel told Billboard the fashion choice was “totally unexpected and classic Jen.”

Lopez, 47, didn’t strike out in the Julien Macdonald number that she wore during the ceremony either.

Ashley Tisdale Remembers Her Biggest Red Carpet Fail From Her Disney Channel Days

Ashley Tisdale‘s been in front of the camera for 20 years (spending nearly half that time as a Disney Channel starlet on The Suite Life of Zack & CodyHigh School Musical and Phineas and Ferb) so she’s inevitably regretted a red carpet fashion choice or two from the era.

“I grew up in front of everybody and experimented with clothes on the red carpet, so it’s different for me,” Tisdale, who recently partnered with DUO to help launch its new line of dual-sided body cleansers. “All of the stuff you do as a younger person you’re doing in front of everyone, so there are probably tons of moments I look back on and cringe.”

The star says her biggest fashion fails happened when she first started filming The Suite Life, and in hindsight, she can see why.

“My stylist at the time was my stylist for the TV series, which I learned very quickly you ,” Tisdale told us. “They will just style you how you’re styled on your TV show so I looked like my character at all times when I was going out.”

The one look that stands out in the 31-year-old star’s mind as the most cringe-worthy carpet happened at The Incredibles premiere in 2004, right as she started breaking into the spotlight at just 19 years old.

“I wore this really weird pink camo skirt and this pink furry thing, I don’t even know what it was, but I said, ‘Ooh, put me in it!’ And instead of wearing it like you would normally wear it, I was like, ‘I am going to do it have one of my arms out and have it going across my body.’ It was the weirdest thing,” Tisdale said. “At that point, you just have to laugh at yourself!”

The Most Outrageous Looks From The iHeartRadio Awards Red Carpet

Talk about “belting it out.”

Halsey’s all-yellow-everything look at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in California on Sunday night was essentially just pants, a jacket and a strategically-placed belt. Thus, it earned our top spot for most outrageous look of the evening.

Miley Cyrus, a mainstay in our wildest looks roundups, surprisingly did not make the cut with the “I love Noah” T-shirt she wore to support her sister at the event.

Noah, on the other hand, landed a spot thanks to a see-through mini dress and unbelievably high platforms, while Katy Perry showed off her new cropped haircut in a surprise jumpsuit.

It was a fun ― if not necessarily the most high-fashion ― red carpet we’ve seen in a long time. Check out more of our picks for most outrageous outfits below.

Ariel Winter Shows a Lot of Skin in a Leotard and Sheer Skirt on the Red Carpet

As hard as it is to believe, Modern Family has been entertaining the masses for the past eight years and because of that we’ve all seen Ariel Winter transform before our very eyes from a lovable 11-year-old know-it-all into a full-grown, confident woman. And with her newly established adulthood has also come a markedly different approach to red carpet dressing consisting of a lot of sheer illusion panels, a lot of body hugging silhouettes and even more sparkle. Her latest ensemble was no exception, consisting of little more than a bodysuit covered up with a sheer skirt.

The actress attend the Vanity Fair and L’Oréal Paris “Toast to Young Hollywood” event in West Hollywood on Tuesday night, walking the red carpet in what most women who don’t boast Winter’s fearless levels of body confidence would consider perfect beach attire. Her ensemble consisted of a black one-piece with a criss-cross halter neckline and a cutout at her midriff, completed with what appears to be a sheer lace sarong knotted at her waist and a pair of stilettos.

RELATED PHOTOS: Ariel Winter Calls Out Her Body Shamers: ‘I Love My Bullies for What They Truly NEED Is Love’

Prior to showing up to the event, the actress teased her fans on Snapchat, posting one filtered photo with her eyes and lips blown out to huge proportions, over which she sassily wrote, “Got some surgery before tonight guys.”

In another snap, Ariel mysteriously wrote “Maybe I have long hair tonight…maybe I don’t…” as she gazes into the camera with the bunny filter over her face and the ears partially obscuring her hair. But whether she cuts her hair in a lob or wears it to her waist, shows up in the same outfit as Kylie Jenner or cosplays in a full-blown sexy Santa costume, one thing’s for sure, Winter is always full of sartorial surprises.

What do you think of Ariel’s latest red carpet look? Would you be brave enough to wear it? Sound off below!

Wieners Rush Red Carpet To Protest Australia’s ‘Sausage Fest’ Film Awards

A group of women filmmakers wearing sausage costumes rushed the red carpet at one of Australia’s most prestigious screen awards to protest a lack of female nominees this year.

Sixteen members of the Women in Film and Television New South Wales chapter chanted “end the sausage party” on the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards red carpet Wednesday, interrupting live broadcastings of the event.

In the SBS World News Facebook Live video below, you can see protesters chanting and handing out flyers about their demonstration. Then one demonstrator yells,“Sausage roll!” That prompts all the protesters to drop to the floor and roll around the carpet.

Protesters shouted out, “Gender roles not sausage rolls!” as security escorted activists off the red carpet, onlookers reported. One video that the Guardian’s Steph Harmon posted to Twitter appears to show a guard aggressively pushing a demonstrator. But WIFT president and sausage party protester Sophie Mathisen said the group was not surprised by the response.

“None of the protestors were significantly roughed up, we were pushed around,” she said in an email to The Huffington Post. “You know, I think that the adrenaline meant that we didn’t really pay too much attention.”

WIFT supports Australia’s entertainment industry adopting a quota system to increase the number of women working in film and television. Research shows that when more women work in roles behind the camera, there is greater gender diversity on screen as well.

“Women are making more content than ever before and this year’s nominations in not only feature films but also television categories are not at all reflective of this fact, a deeply disappointing and shameful situation for a body that proclaims to celebrate the width and breadth of screen excellence,” Mathisen said in a statement.

For those considering staging their own sausage party protests, Mathisen said that WIFT is making the costumes available for loan

“We think that this is a really important stance, something that we hope catches on,” she said. “There is disparity in a number of different industries, not just film industries, so it’s important that we actually start to call out these institutional biases and really raise awareness for them and institute change.”

The 10 Most Iconic VMA Red Carpet Fashion Moments, Ever

The Video Music Awards are happening this Sunday and it’s the kind of award show were style memories are made. It’s typically one of those red carpets where anything goes and, as such, stars feel a little more liberty to take risks. Sometimes it’s awesome and…sometimes it involves raw meat.

Back in 1998, Gwen Stefani was in the middle of her No Doubt heyday and her funky style was everything. She eschewed the dress in favor of a fuzzy triangle bikini top because, why not?

Also in 1998: Rose McGowan walked the carpet with beau Marilyn Manson in a dress that was hardly a dress. Skinny chains gave her some coverage, but it was mostly all skin and g-string.

Compared to Miss McGowan, Lil’ Kim’s infamous purple pastie felt like a lot of outfit. The sparkly jumpsuit would have been attention-grabbing enough on its own, but add in that extra skin and wowzee.

In 2000, Jennifer Lopez attended the awards show with P Diddy in a combo of white crop top, jeans, and bandana that really showed her style circa the early aughts.

Before Beyonce was Beyonce, she was on the scene with Destiny’s Child. The trio attended red carpet events in a lot of matching outfits, including the orange and blue looks they rocked at the 2001 VMAs.

When Britney Spears walked the red carpet in this Madonna-inspired outfit back in 2003, it might not have totally registered as being major. It wasn’t until her performance later—and the three-way lip-lock with Christina Aguilera and Madge—that it really became iconic.

Cher showed up at the VMAs in 2010 and brought her signature out-there style along with her. In place of a crazy gown, she wore a sheer bodysuit covered in crystals and topped with a tough leather jacket.

But try as Cher might, there was no way she could’ve eclipsed Lady Gaga in all her raw meat, erm, glory?

The big celebrity news of the 2011 ceremony was the extra curve that Beyonce was rocking. During her performance onstage, the singer slid her hand over her belly to announce, yup, there was an heir coming. You could see it in her red Lanvin gown too.

For last year’s red carpet, Katy Perry did an homage to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake with a denim Versace dress she matched to her date.

A few of our red carpet favorites, along with some infamous performance outfits, have inspired what could be the ultimate tribute of all: Rice Krispie creations. Yup, you totally read that right.

See Your Favorite Downton Abbey Stars on the Red Carpet Together One Last Time

The the stars of Downton Abbey, both past and present, got together to celebrate the show’s upcoming final season on Tuesday night in London—and it has to be said, the ladies of Downtown rock contemporary fashion just as well as they do their period costumes. check out your fave stars here:

Michelle Dockery went classic black and white in Valentino.

Laura Carmichael chose an embellished floral gown from British brand, Erdem.

Lily James went for a sleek white Ulyana Sergeenko cocktail dress and pumps with a fur pom pom. Quite the departure from the over-the-top gowns she wore earlier this year to promote her movie Cinderella.

Joanna Froggatt looks striking and sexy in Victoria Beckham.

Elizabeth McGovern looks fantastic in a short, ruffled number with red D’Orsay pumps.

And dear Mrs. Hughes, aka Phyllis Logan, looks phenomenal in a sequined black gown with a plunging neckline.

The Figure in the Carpet

The Figure in the Carpet

pubOne.info thank you for your continued support and wish to present you this new edition. I HAD done a few things and earned a few pence – I had perhaps even had time to begin to think I was finer than was perceived by the patronising; but when I take the little measure of my course (a fidgety habit, for it’s none of the longest yet) I count my real start from the evening George Corvick, breathless and worried, came in to ask me a service. He had done more things than I, and earned more pence, though there were chances for cleverness I thought he sometimes missed. I could only however that evening declare to him that he never missed one for kindness. There was almost rapture in hearing it proposed to me to prepare for THE MIDDLE, the organ of our lucubrations, so called from the position in the week of its day of appearance, an article for which he had made himself responsible and of which, tied up with a stout string, he laid on my table the subject. I pounced upon my opportunity – that is on the first volume of it – and paid scant attention to my friend’s explanation of his appeal. What explanation could be more to the point than my obvious fitness for the task? I had written on Hugh Vereker, but never a word in THE MIDDLE, where my dealings were mainly with the ladies and the minor poets

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder’s Beyond-Stunning Cannes Red Carpet Moment

Le sigh. Newlyweds Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder walked the red carpet at Cannes yesterday, and they both looked so sophisticated, so classic, and so crazy-good stunning, it feels utterly possible that no married twosome has ever looked so very perfect on that iconic carpet.

Nikki wore a navy couture Azzaro gown with a spray of coral at the left shoulder, while Ian chose a traditional tux. The appearance was also the first time we’ve gotten to properly scope out their wedding rings (and see Ian helping his new wife with her train, which is basically the sweetest).

All caught up on your Nikki and Ian news?
The twosome had a swoonworthy tropical honeymoon after a paparazzi-free wedding.

The Cast of Pitch Perfect 2 Has Been Killing It on the Red Carpet

Who’s excited for Pitch Perfect 2? The film opens today, but before you rush off to your local movie theater, check out how the cast has been killing it on the red carpet recently.

For the world premiere of the movie, Anna Kendrick wore a sultry one-shoulder Stella McCartney cutout gown in royal blue and purple.

At a photo call for the film in Rome, director Elizabeth Banks went with this black-and-white Donna Karan skirt and top.

She was spotted in Berlin for another photo call wearing a multicolor Peter Pilotto dress.

Rebel Wilson mixed a blue top with a black-and-white checkered skirt, which we love. File that away for your next work outfit idea.

Brittany Snow went the elegant route in an Edition by Georges Chakra gown with sheer cutouts and paneling for the L.A. premiere.

Anna Camp looked way edgier than the character she plays in the film in a Philipp Plein minidress.

Alexis Knapp wore a red-hot Lorena Sarbu gown with a high-low satin skirt for the world premiere.

Kelley Jakle went for an angelic-with-an-edge style at the L.A. premiere of the film.

Here’s What Really Happens on the Met Gala Red Carpet…

Monday night’s Met Gala has given us months, and possibly years, of good fashion fodder. But beyond the gorgeous dresses, don’t you wonder what that majestic red carpet is really like? Well, we found out just for you. Read on for the inside scoops and surprises of fashion’s biggest night.

larry-davidLarry David (Larry David!?) was an early arrival. While most men and women in glittering gowns took their sweet time to sashay up the vertiginous steps, David galloped up them in the blink of an eye. No interviews or posing for him. If we knew any better, we would have clocked his time. We’re on it for next year.

hannah-davis-derek-jeterHannah Davis, here with boyfriend Derek Jeter, looked like she was poured into her crimson J. Mendel, but actually, the dress fit Davis like a glove. No tailoring required. “I went up to Vogue and it just fit perfectly,” the dishy model told us.

joel-mchale-karlie-klossHow did comedian Joel McHale prep for his first-ever Met Gala? He jokes, “I waxed all the hair off my body, then the microdermabrasion, then a large bath, full of whole milk and some vanilla,” he told us. Oh, he also joked that he delivered nine kittens in the car on the way to the museum. “I cut the umbilical cords; it was amazing. Smelled terrible but amazing.”

katie-couric-met-galaBless Katie Couric, who helped a gaggle of reporters score interviews and pictures with some major celebrities.

katie-couric-kendallHere she is lassoing Kendall Jenner in.

kendall-jenner-met-galaKatie nailed it. Kendall came to chat with us.

kim-kardashian-met-galaKendall’s sister Kim Kardashian dazzled in a sheer embroidered Roberto Cavalli gown with a skirt full of feathers.

kim-kardashian-feathersAfter she and Kanye climbed the steps, we noticed that Kim’s feathers littered the red carpet. Sad but a nice memento after the last flashbulb popped.

Paris Hilton Sparkles In A See-Through Dress On The Red Carpet

Paris Hilton was all shimmer and shine on the red carpet for the opening of the Charbel Zoe Haute Couture Los Angeles flagship store Tuesday night.

The 34-year-old donned a silver and sheer gown by Charbel Zoe to the opening of the designer’s showroom, where she and former “Shahs of Sunset” star Lilly Ghalichi, celebrated his birthday. She wished him luck in an Instagram post, writing: “Happy Birthday @CharbelZoeCouture! Congrats on your new LA store opening tonight! So excited that your designing my @FoamAndDiamonds DJ costumes for this Summer! #Killingit!”

Hilton’s “Foam & Diamonds” residency at Amnesia in Ibiza will continue this summer. This is her third stint at the EDM hotspot.

Red Carpet Lessons for Real Life, Courtesy of Bravo’s Miss Lawrence and Derek J

When I was offered a chance to hear what Bravo‘s resident stylish dudes from Atlanta, Derek J and Miss Lawrence of Fashion Queens (and Real Housewives of Atlanta, duh) had to say about Grammys style, I may have responded with an all-caps YES.

The boys delivered an email this morning filled with their thoughts on the night’s best- and worst-dressed and while they didn’t agree with all my best-dressed picks, there was a lot of wisdom tucked in among all their exclamation points and catchphrases (a worried Sophia was very nervous what they meant by “gag” until I clarified it was a positive).

Lesson #1: Be on point.
Both guys loved Gwen Stefani and appreciated the fact that a lot of thought went into nailing her pretty perfect look. “She showed us how a jumpsuit should be worn,” Miss Lawrence said. “She was so on-point!” agreed Derek J. “She’s truly a fashion girl and knows how to do it right from head to toe.”

Lesson #2: Be yourself.
“SIA!!!!! The fact that you couldn’t see her face and she still SLAYED. With those bangs stopping at the tip of her nose, she’s saying ‘I don’t see you and I only want you to hear about ME!’ I loved her cape too. Simple and chic but uber-eccentric and glam!”—Miss Lawrence

Lesson #3: Don’t be afraid of texture.
Katy Perry wasn’t and it turned into a big win. “I loved the Zuhair Murad dress Katy wore. The texture reminded me of an ice princess and I loved it!”—Derek J.

Lesson #4: Harness the power of contrast and simplicity.
Miss Lawrence loved the simple choices Annie Lennox made. “I was in awe of the stark blond pixie hair paired with such a classy gown. It was very GODDESS-like!”

Lesson #5: Dress for your hair.
“She’s one of my favorite girls, but this was not the Kim Kardashian I’m used to,” Miss Lawrence seconded. “Her new short hair competed with the shoulders.” I’m sure she was feeling the brand-new crop, but I get his point. With this dress (which I loved), hair-up might’ve been better.

Lesson #6: Bring some arm candy.
Madonna‘s costume-y look fell a little flat for both the boys and me, but leave it to Derek J to find the silver lining. “The only reason she kept my attention is because Nas was standing beside her.” The other handsome gent is Diplo.

Lesson #7: Don’t be afraid to take risks.
Because sometimes the result can be SO good. “Fashion risk-taker herself Rihanna in Giambattista Valli!!!!!! There is nothing more to say!!!!!” Derek J wrote, original exclamation marks included (he mimicked a mic drop next).

Thoughts on their picks? Who was your favorite from last night? Anything you did NOT like?

PS: If you want to watch the guys dish it live, Fashion Queens is on Bravo on Sunday nights at 11:30 p.m.

Nicole Kidman Joins Keith Urban On The Grammys Red Carpet

Hollywood royalty graces the Grammys red carpet.

Nicole Kidman stunned as she posed for photos with Keith Urban at the 2015 Grammy Awards on Sunday. The 47-year-old actress wore tight black dress with patterned cutouts, while her husband rocked a black blazer over a black t-shirt.

This Former Bachelorette Sewed Her Own $15 Red Carpet Dress on the Plane. Wait, What?

Prepare to try and not be jealous of former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman, ‘k? Beyond having that amazing head of hair and stunning rock, she’s also apparently quite the talented seamstress, whipping up this DIY dress on the plane ride to last night’s premiere of season 19 of The Bachelor.

Looking at how perfect the draping is, I’m honestly so surprised she made that—and for $ 15, according to People‘s Instagram. Sewing a simple shift would challenge me, much less a Grecian-inspired one-shoulder gown ready for a red carpet strut. Plus, there are the practicals to consider, people: How’d she get scissors on the plane?

Did any of you watch the premiere last night? Glamour‘s guilty—there was quite the chatty email chain going on.

Gorgeous! This Designer Is Doing a Collection JUST For the Red Carpet

The red carpet gowns we see and love are typically peppered throughout a range of collections (including pre-fall—have you seen these fit-for-a-princess Reem Acra beauties?). Now Vivienne Westwood‘s making it official with a Gold Label red carpet capsule collection that’s specifically aimed at stars needing looks for the upcoming award show season.

The designer told WWD the pieces would have “elaborate, feminine and flowing silhouettes” and while it’s not a departure from the label’s typical bombshell look, it’s a savvy position to take. The range previously would have been shown as a pre-season lineup, but is now being presented with the Oscars, Emmys, and such in mind.

For an easy sneak peek, just check out the black and white dress Kirsten Dunst wore to the Unbroken premiere earlier this month. It’s a short version of one of the styles.

Smart, huh? Do you have designer you just love seeing on the red carpet?

Katy Perry Rocks A Matching Crop Top And Skirt On The Red Carpet

Katy Perry took the crop top trend to the red carpet when she stepped out Tuesday night for the 2014 Australian Record Industry Association Awards in Sydney.

Perry’s two-piece ensemble, created by Australian designer Jaime Lee, featured a belly-baring halter top and a long, see-through pencil skirt adorned with sequined flowers. She paired the outfit with purple pumps and a head wrap.

While presenting the award for Best Female Artist, Perry gave a speech about her love for all things Australia; her Prismatic World Tour kicked off Down Under Nov. 7.

“No longer will I use straws in my chocolate milk. I’ll use Tim Tams!” she said, per the Guardian. “No longer will I put butter on bread, I’ll use Vegemite. No longer will I eat chicken, I’ll eat kangaroo. Actually that’s disgusting. Why do guys you eat something that’s on your national emblem?”

Elle Style Awards 2014 Red Carpet Features Lots Of Leggy Looks (PHOTOS)

It took just one look at the 2014 Elle Style Awards red carpet for us to feel embarrassed about not shaving our legs in weeks. Some of the hottest stars attended the “fashion Oscars” on Tuesday night in London, England wearing super short dresses and gowns with high slits that showed off their gorgeous gams.

Among the celebrities sporting leggy looks were models Karolina Kurkova, Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne and actresses Emma Watson and Olga Kurylenko. We barely recognized Jessie J, who was flashing some major skin in a coral cutout dress, lace-up thigh-high boots and a long black wig. Meanwhile, “Woman of the Year” Katy Perry kept it quite demure, aside from that massive diamond ring on her hand.

Check out all the looks from the Elle Style Awards red carpet in the slideshow below and tell us which star had your favorite look.
