PRADA SHAPES: Prada Group said Wednesday it will host the “Shaping a Sustainable Future Society” conference in New York on Nov. 8 at the group’s headquarters in Manhattan, which are known as The Piano Factory. The event will be held in partnership with Yale School of Management and Politecnico di Milano School of Management. This will be the third edition of the Italian company’s cultural conversations under the “Shaping a Future” moniker, and it will explore topics such as freedom, equality and justice within the workplace, in addition to the impact of ethical assessments in people’s choices and behavior. The list of speakers has yet to be disclosed, but Prada said they would include personalities from the academic community and institutions, as well as the art and business worlds. “The complexity of the current political and social environment requires an increasingly sophisticated conversation, defining tangible action around diversity and inclusion,” the company said. “The Prada Group feels the necessity to contribute to this cultural process of development.” To engage in the conversation, the conference will be live streamed through the group’s web site and a dedicated #shapingasustainablesociety hashtag has been launched. Square Enix E3 2019: Conference Date, Time, Predictions, and Announcements

Square Enix conference is scheduled for today, June 10 at 6pm PT/9pm ET (June 11 at 2am UK/11am AET), and if you like Marvel’s Avengers, you’re going to really like what Square is bringing to E3. Months of speculation led to the official announcement Square Enix’s Avengers game is coming to E3, and the biggest movie of the year is likely going to be one of the biggest games of E3.

After three years away from the E3 spotlight, Square Enix returned in 2018 with a pre-recorded, Direct-style showcase. The half-hour presentation featured 10 games in total, though it made only two new announcements: Babylon’s Fall, a new adventure from the famed action studio PlatinumGames, and Human Head’s The Quiet Man, which went on to earn the unfortunate title of Metacritic’s worst-reviewed game of 2018.

Prada to Host Second ‘Shaping a Future’ Conference

PRADA SHAPES: Prada Group said Wednesday it will host “Shaping a Sustainable Digital Future” in Milan on Nov. 20 at Fondazione Prada, in partnership with Yale School of Management and Politecnico di Milano School of Management. This will be the second edition of the Italian company’s cultural conversations under the “Shaping a Future” moniker, and it will explore the impact of digitalization on business and sustainability.
Ahead of the conference, the two schools of management each launched a student contest in which participants are asked to develop new concepts and ideas to contribute to the event.
Prada held its first conference on sustainability, called “Shaping a Creative Future,” in March last year. Focusing on the relation between sustainability and innovation, the conference, moderated by the two universities, comprised conversations, debates and discussions with leading international academic, creative and business figures such as Anna Zegna, president of the Zegna Foundation; Carlo Capasa, president of the Italian Camera della Moda; Sergio Rossi president Andrea Morante, and former Luxottica chief executive officer and current executive chairman of Eataly Andrea Guerra.
The discussions over the two days hinged on brand heritage and market value; design for sustainability through innovation and tradition; sustainability and value creation, and driving creative excellence.

Peclers Paris to Host Future of Fashion Conference

PARIS — Fashion has lost its meaning. That’s the prognosis of Eric Duchamp, global chief executive officer of leading forecasting agency Peclers Paris, who on Thursday will host a conference geared at identifying — during stagnant times for the industry, and a banalization of offer — the crucial “strategic levers” brands need to activate to boost performance in the years to come.
Titled “La mode doit gagner la bataille du sens,” or in English, “Fashion Must Make Sense Again,” the Future of Fashion conference will take place at Paris restaurant Noto.
The Peclers Paris team will present future insights and some of the key macro trends that they believe will impact brands and consumers in the next five years, based on findings of a market study around brand perception conducted by Kantar TNS, as well as a range of “strategic levers” identified by the Peclers Paris team that brands need to activate to boost performance in the years to come.
Conducted online between May and June of this year, the study involved a panel of 2010 consumers aged from 16 to 60, with a 50-50 breakdown of men and women, and covered their perception of 25 brands for the women and 22 brands

Nutrition Conference for Feed Manufacturers: University of Nottingham, Volume 7

Nutrition Conference for Feed Manufacturers: University of Nottingham, Volume 7

Nutrition Conference for Feed Manufacturers: 7 is a collection of papers dealing with horse nutrition and ruminant nutrition. This collection of papers is divided in four parts. Part 1 deals with the evaluation of the dietary needs of ruminants, finding the need to replace their feeding systems by replacing the starch equivalent system with the metabolizable energy system. Feed and energy value calculation are likewise explained where metabolizable energy (ME) is shown to be easily calculated with reference to the Agricultural Research Council system and later analyses. Observations on the efficiency of utilization of metabolizable energy in meat and milk follow, as feeding not only involves the efficient use of energy from the feed but also of nutritional contents and composition of the feed. Practical application and calculation are then discussed to achieve best practices. In Parts 2 and 3, the evaluation of the dietary energy for pigs, poultry nutrition, food intake of practice broilers and laying fowl, and formulation problems are discussed. Part 4 discusses horse nutrition with detailed descriptions of the anatomy of the digestive tract, digestion and absorption of nutrients, and the horses’ protein requirement. Energy requirements for the maintenance, growth, and reproduction of the horse using calculations based on the National Research Council basal allowance is discussed. Students and professors of veterinary medicine, stable owners, horse feed manufacturers, horse enthusiasts and equestrians will find this volume helpful.

History of Computing in Education: Ifip 18th World Computer Conigress Tc3 / Tc9 1st Conference on the History of Computing in Education 22 – 27 August 2004 Toulouse, France

History of Computing in Education: Ifip 18th World Computer Conigress Tc3 / Tc9 1st Conference on the History of Computing in Education 22 – 27 August 2004 Toulouse, France

This book looks at the history of computing in education from two points of view as a history of the impact of computing on education over the past forty years and as the use of the history of computing as a pedagogical tool in computing education. These two intertwined views look back at computer education and the ways in which organizations have attempted to use computers to enhance teaching and learning from elementary education through university studies in several countries. Topics include: considerations of cybernetics and informatics; government sponsored open source software for school education; learning with the artificial sciences; technology leading to historic changes; ICT in Catalan schools; streams in the history of computer education in Australia; growth of computing technology for education in India; computing and education in the UK; evolution of e-inclusion for the disabled; educational hypermedia computing; keyboard training; studies of educational computing projects; and using computing history to enhance teaching. History of Computing in Education is unique in its topic, the field having not been the subject of extensive study in the past. While there have been several books on the history of computing, a study of the impact of computing on education is only now receiving due attention. This book derives from contributions made at the History of Computing in Education conference at the IFIP 18th World Computer Congress, held in August 2004 in Toulouse, France and sponsored by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). Teachers, students, researchers, authors, and education developers should find this work as a welcome addition to their educational repertoire. It will also provide new dimensions of breadth and depth in the evolution of computing in education.
