Bankruptcy Court Confirms Restructuring Plan for David’s Bridal

David’s Bridal can start to think about a planned exit from bankruptcy court proceedings.
A Delaware bankruptcy court has confirmed the retailer’s restructuring plan, the final hurdle in the company’s plan to exit bankruptcy court. The retailer previously said it expects to complete its tour of bankruptcy duty later this month.
When the retailer exits bankruptcy, it will have reduced its debt by $ 450 million. That was part of the negotiated deal with lenders, most of its senior noteholders and equity holders. The company filed its prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy court petition on Nov. 19.
Scott Key, chief executive officer of the bridal retailer, said, “During the court-supervised process, our more than 300 David’s Bridal stores have remained open and dedicated to delivering a five-star customer experience.”
He also said the process has led to the company exiting bankruptcy as a “stronger company with significantly less debt.”
The company previously arranged for exit financing of between $ 40 million and $ 60 million.
David’s Bridal was able to keep its stores in operation, and most of its stores are four-wall profitable on an EBITDA, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization, basis. Its problem was its debt load from a leverage buyout.
The company still has challenges ahead,

EXCLUSIVE: Dior Confirms Kim Jones at Dior Homme

PARIS — Kim Jones is to present his first collection for Dior Homme in June as its new artistic director of ready-to-wear and accessory collections.
This confirms an earlier report on that Jones, previously men’s artistic director at Louis Vuitton, would succeed Kris Van Assche in the plum role. Jones starts April 1.
Van Assche exits Dior Homme after leading the brand for 11 years and is expected to take up a new assignment within LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
The arrival of Jones represents the first big move by Pietro Beccari, who became chairman and chief executive officer at Christian Dior Couture six weeks ago after stints at Fendi and Vuitton.
“I am delighted to welcome Kim Jones, with whom I had the chance to collaborate previously at Louis Vuitton,” Beccari told WWD. “I admire his creative vision, which combines both his own inspirations of contemporary culture and his own reinterpretation of specific codes and heritage of a house. I am confident in his ability to recreate his universe within the maison Dior and imagine for Dior Homme an elegant and resolutely modern wardrobe.”

Supreme Confirms Brooklyn Store

NEW YORK — Supreme has landed in Brooklyn.
After months of speculation, the company has confirmed that it will open a store on Thursday at 152 Grand Street in Williamsburg.
The cavernous space is sparse, much like Supreme’s other shops, but features skylights and a bowl for skating. This is the brand’s second New York store.
Resellers say rumors of a Brooklyn store have been percolating for a few years because of the crowds Supreme draws at its SoHo store on Thursdays when new product drops, but talks started to dissipate once the company created a drop system that alleviated those crowds on Lafayette Street. Customers now meet in a park the Monday before Thursday drops and put their names on a list. They then receive a number that dictates when they can enter the flagship, eliminating the need for a line.
In July, Louis Vuitton had to cancel its Supreme pop-up on Bond Street because Manhattan’s Community Board No. 2 unanimously denied the proposal, citing Supreme’s tendency to violate New York permit requirements and its lack of a plan to manage the crowds on a quiet, residential street. The collection was never released in New York.

Lucy Hale Confirms There Will Be Two Weddings In The Final Episodes Of ‘Pretty Little Liars’

After seven years on the air, “Pretty Little Liars” is coming to an end this June. But for the first time in the series’ run, there will finally be answers ― and happy endings, too.

During a conversation with The Huffington Post on Build Series Thursday, Lucy Hale confirmed the news that they’ll be “more than one wedding” in Season 7B.

“This whole season, in general, is just very romantic. You get to see all of the couples together and there’s a wedding … or are there two weddings? Yes, there’s one main wedding … hmmm, I don’t know if I was supposed to say there are two weddings, but whatever, we’ll just let that slide,” Hale joked, getting a bit nervous about her spoilery slip before putting it behind her, adding, “Pregnancies, kids, yeah. The girls are grown up.”

But whose nuptials will be featured on the show? Spoby? Haleb? Or will Aria and Ezra take the cake?

Last October, Ian Harding, who plays Ezra, shared a photo of Hale on Instagram, thanking her for being his sidekick throughout the series. But, he apparently forgot that she was wearing a veil, and fans, obviously, freaked out. So, Aria is probably going to be one of the brides, right?

“It’s been such a roller coaster of a romance, but I want to say there’s a happy ending,” Hale said of engaged couple Ezria.

According to Hale, weddings aren’t all we have to look forward to. It sounds like Aria turns to the “dark side” (which just makes us think she’s definitely, most likely, maybe A/A.D./Uber A).

“The board game plays a big part in the last nine episodes,” she explained. Obviously, all of the girls will get a turn and it puts them in very uncomfortable situations ― life-or-death situations. And, Aria, it really pits her against the girls. For the first time it’s little Aria against the rest of them, so things get weird.”

Hale continued, “Aria gets to do some real cool stuff this season. This was the first time in the course of the show that I went to [showrunner I. Marlene King] and I went to the writers and was like, ‘Please, can Aria just do something really cool and different for the last 10 episodes?’ And they gave me my way, and I was really surprised. Not only was it stuff I never got to do on the show, but I got to do things I’ve never done in acting, period.”

Green-screen action? Yup, they’ll be some of that.

Things are getting …weird at work. Do I have something on my face ?

A post shared by Lucy Hale (@lucyhale) on

Hale said playing a different, darker side of Aria was fun and challenging, but it will for sure shift the dynamic between the Liars.

“She does some crazy stuff,” she told HuffPost. “It puts everything at stake ― it puts her friendships, her relationships at stake ― and there are times when you’re like, ‘Whose side is she on?’”

The 27-year-old actress loves to read all of the theories fans of the show come up with, and appreciates every wacky, illogical moment the “Pretty Little Liars” writers decide to toss their way. Still, she has a favorite storyline (and she can’t wait for you to watch it unfold).

“This sounds cliché, but, the very ending is just my favorite of all,” Hale said. “A is a lot closer than we think, you guys … it’s nuts!”

“Pretty Little Liars” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform. Watch the full Build Series interview with Lucy Hale below.

EXCLUSIVE: Brioni Confirms Fabrizio Malverdi as New CEO

PARIS — Brioni has charged Fabrizio Malverdi, its new chief executive officer, with accelerating the international expansion of the elite Italian tailor following a period of turmoil, WWD has learned.
Brioni parent Kering said Malverdi, most recently ceo of Agent Provocateur, would assume the management helm on April 18 and report to Jean-François Palus, Kering’s group managing director.
This confirms a report in WWD on Feb. 28 that Malverdi was in line to succeed Gianluca Flore, who exited the role last month.
Malverdi is perhaps best known for his stints as managing director of Dior Homme and as ceo of Givenchy, where he accrued expertise in the high-end men’s wear market.
At Brioni, he will be tasked with repositioning the brand and bringing stability. The company has been in a state of flux after going through two creative directors in less than a year, confounding some customers and retailers. Issues linked to positioning, pricing and communication also weighed on the brand, as did a rationalization of its workforce at its headquarters in Penne, Italy.
Flore, a former Bottega Veneta executive, joined Brioni in November 2014 and handpicked Brioni’s former creative director Justin O’Shea, a women’s retail executive who had no design experience. O’Shea abruptly departed the

EXCLUSIVE: Givenchy Confirms Clare Waight Keller as Next Couturier

NEW YORK – Clare Waight Keller, Givenchy’s next artistic director, is to show her first collection for the French house during Paris Fashion Week in October and has been tasked with propelling its roots as a Fifties couture house further into the modern age.
“She has this great ability to break the rules and innovate without making a revolution,” said Givenchy chief executive officer Philippe Fortunato, who confirmed the hire exclusively to WWD. “Her very focused approach will help the brand in building the ongoing momentum we have – and taking it to the next level.”
An official announcement is expected later today, detailing that her creative responsibilities include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections as well as couture. May 2 is her start date.
Waight Keller becomes Givenchy’s sixth couturier and the first woman at the creative helm, thrusting the former Chloé designer into the haute spotlight as Givenchy marks its 65th anniversary this year.
The fact of having for the first time a woman envisioning the brand, designing for women and men, is unique for the house. That by itself will give it a different angle and a different point of view from the past.

Gigi Hadid Latest Campaign Confirms Our Theory That She Prefers to Model Sans Pants

“What are pants?” is the question we imagine Gigi Hadid asks herself while pondering the items in her closet every morning. At just 21 years old, the blonde model has dominated the modeling scene, posing for campaigns of some of fashion’s biggest brands including Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Stewart Weitzman and Reebok. And while all of her photographs vary greatly, one common thread seems to be strewn throughout her expanding portfolio: pants are not required.

Case in point: Hadid’s latest Reebok campaign shots have arrived, and — you guessed it — she’s not wearing anything on her lower half. The brand announced Tuesday that Hadid will be the female face of their Club C tennis sneaker, joining Kendrick Lamar.

And there was this Tommy Hilfiger photo shoot…

…and this one.

She ditched pants and went with just a leotard for her latest Stewart Weitzman campaign.

See? Only shirts are necessary on set.

And we can’t forget this completely naked Weitzman moment that was frozen in time on billboards everywhere.

So just for good measure, here’s the time she posed nude on a horse for Allure.

…and that time she got her wings — definitely without pants.

Which of Gigi’s campaigns and magazine shoots are your favorites? Sound off below.

Margot Robbie Seemingly Confirms Wedding Rumors With Photo Of Diamond Ring

Looks like Margot Robbie really is married.

The Australian actress seemingly confirmed all those wedding rumors with a telling photo of her ring finger on Instagram Monday. In the shot, Robbie’s hand ― which is wearing a simple but gorgeous diamond ring ― is in focus, while the actress and her partner, British director Tom Ackerley, are blurred in the background, sharing a kiss.

A photo posted by @margotrobbie on

Details of the couple’s wedding are sparse, but according to Vogue they got married in a secret ceremony over the weekend in Byron Bay, Australia. The outlet reported that Robbie was spotted wearing a shirt that read, “Say ‘I Do’ Down Under,” prior to the nuptials.

Robbie and Ackerley met while filming the 2014 drama “Suite Française,” on which he served as third assistant director, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The couple is often quite private about their relationship, so it’s no surprise they kept their wedding out of the public eye.

Congrats to the couple!

‘Walking Dead’ Basically Confirms That Theory You Suspected

We’ve already learned who took Morgan’s peanut butter bar, but “The Walking Dead” answered even more questions in Sunday’s Season 6 episode, “JSS.”

(Warning! Spoilers! There is no sanctuary!)

First of all, yeah, it was the Wolves sounding that horn we heard in the season premiere. While Rick and the other survivors are out leading a zombie parade, the Wolves break into Alexandria and just start smashing people’s faces. The horn was from a truck they crashed into the walls during the assault.

Morgan made it back in time to kick the crud out of people with his bow staff, Napoleon Dynamite-style, but the real MVP of the episode was Carol. She finally gave up her goody-goody act this week by disguising herself as a Wolf and then completely destroying the attackers.

The most important part of the episode, however, was that it might’ve confirmed a popular theory fans have had online:

The theory: Enid is helping the Wolves.

Image: Tumblr

No! Just when Carl finally finds something he likes besides pudding! Typical, right?

Enid’s possible involvement with the Wolves has been speculated on for a while. As evidence, fans point to the fact that she has a mysterious past and doesn’t seem to share the same fear of the walkers as the other Alexandrians, she frequently goes outside the walls and, of course, there’s this Easter egg from Season 5 showing Carl looking at Enid’s comic:

“Wolf Fight.” Yeah, we see what you did there, AMC.

It turns out the title of the episode, “JSS” is actually Enid’s mantra: Just Survive Somehow. This week opens with a flashback showing Enid’s parents getting killed and then follows her through all the unpleasant JSS situations she gets herself into, one being a pretty graphic scene involving a turtle.

Let’s just say Bear Grylls would be proud. (And then he would probably drink a gallon of his own pee or something.)

(Oh yeah, that’s the good stuff.)

Enid is pretty nonchalant about the Wolves attacking the whole time. People are dying everywhere and she doesn’t even care. She just walks to Carl’s house to say goodbye because it’s suddenly time for her to peace out. Oh, and she has keys to the whole town, apparently.

When Carl asks her about the Wolves, she says they’re “just people” and that Alexandria is “too big to protect.” She goes on saying, “There are too many blind spots. That’s how we were able to …” Then Carl cuts her off.

Uh, what now? “We”? Let the girl finish, Carl!

Considering Enid’s motto, ”just survive somehow,” it makes perfect sense that she’d do whatever she could to stay alive. And if she encountered the Wolves outside the walls before, surviving may even include giving them intel and helping to bring down Alexandria.

Is Enid actually helping the Wolves? Only time will tell. But at this point, we can at least be pretty sure she’s just this kid in disguise:

“The Walking Dead” airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET on AMC.

Update: An earlier version speculated that the photos Aaron found on the dead body were given to the Wolves, but actually they were photos that were previously lost.

On ‘Inside Amy Schumer,’ Bill Nye Confirms The Universe Exists To Guide White Women In Their 20s

On Tuesday night’s “Inside Amy Schumer,” Bill Nye confirmed what we pretty much already knew — the universe only exists to send “cosmic guidance” to white women in their 20s.

Nye explained that while scientists once believed the universe was a “chaotic collection of matter,” recent breakthroughs have led them to understand it’s just basically a “giant dream board on which women pin their wishes.”

Because “if you just put it out into the universe, it will just manifest itself.” You know?

Research Confirms That Humble Bragging Doesn’t Work, It’s Just Really Annoying

Before you share the news about your recent job promotion on Facebook, consider this: Researchers have found that a little humble-bragging can backfire. In other words, your false modesty is pretty transparent, and people detest you for it.

The difference between a humble brag and a traditional brag is the way in which a person presents her accomplishment. Two tweets for clarity:

Humble brag:

Standard brag:

The humble brag attempts to obscure the fact that Ms. Swift has a custom designer dress for a big celebrity event by sharing a “relatable” detail about her unruly cat. The standard brag states, outright, an accomplishment.

The study, which comes from researchers at City University London, Carnegie Mellon University and Bocconi University and was published in Psychological Science, reveals that humble-braggers misread the affects of their self-promotion: They overestimate positive responses and emotions and underestimate negatives ones.

“Most people probably realize that they experience emotions other than pure joy when they are on the receiving end of someone else’s self-promotion. Yet, when we engage in self-promotion ourselves, we tend to overestimate others’ positive reactions and underestimate their negative ones,” says Irene Scopelliti, the study’s lead and a lecturer in marketing at City University London. She says the impact of self-promotion may be exacerbated by social media, where there’s a greater distance between the news-sharer and the recipient.

Self-promoters’ objection may be to make a good impression, but this often backfires. Researchers performed two different experiments to gauge the boaster’s misperception when it came to how his or her message was received. In the first, Scopelliti told The Huffington Post, half of the participants were asked to describe a case in which they had bragged to someone else. They were then told to describe the emotions they felt and the emotions the thought the recipient felt. The other participants were told to describe an instance where someone had bragged to them, how they felt and how they believed the braggart felt. “We coded the emotions indicated and observed that the braggers thought their recipients experienced far more positive emotions, and far less negative emotions, than recipients did,” Scopelliti said.

The second study asked participants to, again, describe a situation where they bragged to someone else or someone else bragged about them. The same results occurred: self-promoters miscalculated the extent to which recipients were happy for them and proud of them, and underestimated the extent to which recipients were annoyed by them. “We attribute this miscalibration to a phenomenon called the ‘empathy gap’: both parties, self-promoters and recipients, have trouble imagining how they would feel if they roles were reversed,” Scopelliti said.

A third, separate experiment was to test emotions connected to online bragging. The researchers gauged reactions to online profiles, some of which were much more self-promotional than others. Their findings revealed that those on the receiving end of a show-off sentence or Facebook status perceive excessive self-promoters as unlikable and as braggarts. Despite the profile creator’s thinking, self-promoting details did not impress readers — their intentions actually backfired. Their self-promotion decreased readers positive perceptions of the person who they were reading about.

“These results are particularly important in the Internet age, when opportunities for self-promotion have proliferated via social networking,” Scopelliti said. “The emotional miscalibration that we observe may indeed be exacerbated by the additional distance between people sharing information and their recipients, which can both reduce the empathy of the self-promoter and decrease the sharing of pleasure by the recipient.”

A team of Harvard researchers recently release a separate paper that underscored the same findings about humble bragging. The researchers ran five different experiments with 302 participants, having them rate the likability and attractiveness of a humble bragger. They found that those who humble bragged were perceived as more irritating and less likable than complainers and traditional braggarts.

At the conclusion of their paper, the researchers print a word of advice for anyone looking to share an achievement: “Faced with the choice to (honestly) brag or (deceptively) humblebrag, would-be self-promoters should choose the former –- and at least reap the rewards of seeming sincere,” they write.

Think before you #humblebrag.

Timberlake received a number of birthday wishes through the day from fans and celebs, including Taylor Swift and Jimmy Fallon. Without out a doubt, it’s hard to argue how the baby news is anything but, to quote Timberlake, the “GREATEST GIFT EVER.”

Jennifer Saunders Confirms ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ Film Script

Iconic British sitcom “Absolutely Fabulous” may return in 2015.

Speaking to the U.K.’s Daily Mirror, creator and star of the series Jennifer Saunders said she had recently completed a first draft of a script for a film adaptation to be titled “Edina and Patsy.”

“My proper New Year’s resolution is to do the film, otherwise it’ll be a pointless year of procrastination,” she reportedly said.

“Absolutely Fabulous,” tells the story of friends Edina (Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley), a PR person and magazine editor trying to stay hip as they progress through middle age and beyond. The series aired for five seasons on BBC beginning in 1992, and returned for three special episodes released in 2011 and 2012.

In an interview with New York Magazine back in 2011, Saunders commented on rumors of an upcoming film.

“I’m definitely going to do it,” she said. “I’m aiming to shoot this in a beautiful part of the Riviera. I fancy the south of France in the spring.”

Matt Damon Confirms ‘Bourne’ Return For 2016

Back in September, reported that Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass would return to the Jason Bourne franchise for a new film, the duo’s third Bourne film together and Damon’s fourth as the character overall. On Friday, Damon confirmed the news to E! Online.

“Yes, next year,” Damon told E! about when the new Bourne film will begin production. “It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes.”

That’s true. Damon had long said he would only reprise his role in the franchise if Greengrass returned as well.

“I’ve always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director,” Damon said to CNBC in May of this year. “We’ve just never been able to come up with a story.”

Damon’s last Bourne film, “The Bourne Ultimatum,” was released in 2007 and grossed more than $ 442 million around the globe. That feature ended with Bourne walking away from the espionage game.

“If you really look at the mythology of the character, we would have to figure out some reason to get him going again,” Damon said to HuffPost Entertainment in July of 2012. “Paul and I haven’t been able to do it. And we really wanted to make another one; we almost were making one a couple of years ago — and then we just couldn’t crack it.”

In the interim, the franchise took a detour: 2012’s “The Bourne Legacy,” which starred Jeremy Renner as an agent named Aaron Cross.

“I love the idea of Greengrass and Damon,” Renner told HuffPost Entertainment about Damon’s potential return earlier this year. He was excited about the possibilities: “Let [our characters] be adversaries, let them become buddies, whatever the heck it might be — them coming together would be a pretty tremendous thing.”

According to the original report, Renner’s Cross likely won’t be involved in the Damon film, but a sequel to “The Bourne Legacy” with Justin Lin set as director is still in development. Damon’s movie, meanwhile, is set for a July 16, 2016 bow.
