Spider-Man Is A Super Creepy Stalker In This Recut Trailer

From superhero to super creepy.

Spider-Man transforms into a nightmarish stalker in this chilling spoof of the “The Amazing Spider-Man” movies, starring Andrew Garfield.

Instead of web-slinging his way around New York, the recut version from Mashable’s YouTube channel CineFix imagines Peter Parker obsessing over his crush, Gwen Stacy (played by Garfield’s ex-girlfriend, Emma Stone).

Jessica Biel Returns To TV In Creepy New Crime Thriller ‘The Sinner’

She played the beloved Mary Camden on “7th Heaven” until 2003, but since then, Jessica Biel hasn’t been on our TV screens, aside from a brief cameo on “New Girl” in 2014.

Well, good news: she’s back in a scary new crime thriller on USA Network. Biel is starring in “The Sinner,” an anthology series based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Petra Hammesfahr.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the first season of the show follows a young mother named Cora (Biel) who randomly commits a startling act of violence. The thing is, Cora doesn’t know why she did it, and that’s the question that drives the plot. Bill Pullman plays the detective who works to uncover Cora’s motives, while Christopher Abbott plays Biel’s on-screen husband, Mason.

“The Sinner” is produced by Biel, show writer Derek Simonds, Michelle Purple, Charlie Gogolak, and pilot director Antonio Campos.

Watch the creepy trailer above. “The Sinner” debuts on USA this summer.

8 Things You Do That Will Always Be Creepy. Always.

Creeping. It can be a daily struggle for those who are shy, introverted, or horrified by the idea of human contact. But we’ve all been creepy at some point in our lives, and here’s how.

The following creeping was performed in a controlled environment by a trained professional. Do not creep like this at home.

Big thanks to HuffPost’s own Suzy Strutner, Kate Bratskier, Sahaj Kohli, Julee Wilson, Patty Doma and Jenna Amatulli for letting me creep them out. And another big thanks to Tiara Chiaramonte for photographing and being witness to so much creepiness.

Creepy, Texas (Young Adult Urban Fantasy)

Creepy, Texas (Young Adult Urban Fantasy)

Dusty Jacobs is the typical young adult. He loves the latest online video game sensation, Monster Hunters, in which humans have to fight off the paranormal monster hordes, doesn’t like school, and fights with his older sister, Amy, on a daily basis. Amy is a fan of metal music and Goth clothing and likes to think of herself as the ultimate non-conformist. His parents, Roger and Michelle Jacobs, are equally as typical, Michelle a researcher for a bio-tech company who always insists the kids take their ‘special’ vitamins that she designed. His father is a simple accountant. Other than occasionally not seeing himself in a mirror, Dusty thinks that all is well with his world. What Dusty doesn’t know, however, is that his family is being watched by a secret organization called the Monster Hunters Association, and that their upcoming move from urban New York to Texas isn’t because his mother is retiring. It’s because they are running from the MHA. When Dusty and Amy are confronted at school by Rykes, a diabolical agent of the MHA and just barely escape his custody, the family flees the city, leaving the children’s friends and everything they’ve ever known behind. So begins their odyssey across the country where, with every turn, the mystery deepens. Along the way Dusty begins to suspect the deeper implications. He discovers that not only are monsters – vampires, werwolves, ghosts, and tools – are real, but world is in danger from them. Dusty has to find out why the Monster Hunters Association is chasing them. But more importantly, he has to discover just who he is.

‘American Horror Story: Freakshow’ Gets A Delightfully Creepy First Teaser

“American Horror Story: Coven” may have raked 17 nominations in the upcoming Emmys, but all eyes are on “American Horror Story: Freakshow” now, with its creepy new teaser released Sunday, July 13.

In the 20-second clip, the seemingly innocuous — but truly ominous — music we’ve come to expect from the series sounds, as white wings part on a small stage to reveal a sad blond woman. The camera then shifts to her rear, unveiling a terrifying clown character operating her bloody lever. Freakshow, indeed!

The Ryan Murphy-helmed Season 4 “will be set around a carnival sideshow in early-1950s Florida,” according to Rolling Stone. “Jessica Lange will return for her fourth season on the show to play a German ex-pat who runs the sideshow.”

“It was always a concept that Jessica and I talked about really early on,” Murphy told Entertainment Weekly in May, adding: “I thought it was going to be light but it’s turning out to be quite terrifyingly dark, which it feels much more like the ‘Asylum’ season. But look — if you have a character named the Clown Killer, it’s going to be dark.”

Umm … that explains the clown??

Sarah Paulson will also be making her return to the FX anthology and she even revealed her character via Twitter in June: a two-headed woman named Bette and Dot.

We’re already having nightmares.

Before The Internet, These Creepy 19th-Century ‘GIFs’ Mesmerized The Masses

GIFs are widely regarded as an Internet-age phenomenon. So, it might surprise you that more than 150 years before you saw your first “Mean Girls” GIF, people were also watching split-second, hypnotic and repetitive animations, also presumably to avoid doing their homework.

Creepy? Awesome? Creepy-Awesome.

These pre-digital GIFs were optical tricks, and were viewed on rotating devices called phenakistoscope and zoetropes. Wired Magazine reported last week on the man that has made it his mission to bring these seriously psychedelic animations to the Internet generation.

How many frogs can one guy eat?

Richard Balzer has spent decades collecting these fascinating, totally addictive toys of procrastinators past, and turning them into an online treasure-trove of vintage optic animation, dubbed The Richard Balzer Collection. Recently, he recruited Los Angeles animator Brian Duffy to transform some of his illustrated animations into modern-day Internet GIFs. The results are completely mesmerizing, and sometimes perhaps slightly disturbing:

We don’t even know what’s going on in this one.

Don’t you hate it when people just show up at your place without calling?

So. Many. Faces.

You can see more of these mind-boggling animations on Balzer’s Tumblr page.

The way these optical devices work is pretty simple. Most of these examples were viewed through a phenakistoscope, which contained one disk of sequential images:

politeness

The disk had equally spaced slots along the edge, and was attached to a 10-12 inch long stick. To view, you simply look in the mirror, spin the disk and watch the images rotate through the slots. This created the illusion of movement — like a circular flip-book. (Read about zoetropes, another type of moving image device, here.)

Then, this adorably formal couple would flirt, over and over and over again:

Charmed, I’m sure!

And these shockingly nimble jungle animals would repeat the same gymnastic feat:

They nail it. Every. Single. Time.

These toys aren’t the only early photography to have something in common with Internet memes. Eadweard Muybridge, who is credited as the first person to accurately capture a sequence of motion on camera, spent much of his time documenting the Internet’s favorite topic: animals, as seen in split-second animated sequences. Check a couple of his image series below, with an Internet age face-lift.

Just a camel struttin’ by:

Is this the first GIF of a buffalo you’ve ever seen?

So remember, next time you find yourself hypnotized by today’s Internet GIFs, you’re not wasting time, you’re engaging in time-honored cultural tradition.
