Destination XL Cuts Losses in Quarter as CEO Search Continues

The corporate restructuring instituted earlier this year is starting to pay off for Destination XL Group.
In the third quarter, the men’s big & tall retailer cut its losses and improved its comparable-store sales, prompting it to update its earnings guidance for the fiscal year. But its search for a new chief executive officer continues as the countdown to the departure of current chief David Levin approaches on Dec. 31. In the case that the retailer can’t find a replacement by year-end, Levin will transition to acting ceo from Jan. 1-April 30 for $ 200,000 a month.
The retailer said that it terminated its deal with Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. to lead the search process on Oct. 1 and is now working with Russell Reynolds Associates to lead the process and expects a successor to be named by the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2019.
As reported, Levin is expected to resign as an officer and director of the company on Jan. 1. The company expects to incur an aggregate charge of approximately $ 2.1 million for ceo transition costs in fiscal 2018 and an additional $ 1.6 million in fiscal 2019 and fiscal 2020.
Turning to the third quarter, the retailer cut its

Natalia Vodianova Cuts Ribbon on Dior Event at Galeries Lafayette

THE BIG BLUE: Christian Dior painted Galeries Lafayette blue on Tuesday evening for a special event marking the 70th anniversary of the French fashion house.
Dior has taken over 11 windows at the retailer’s Paris flagship on Boulevard Haussmann until Oct. 10. In celebration of creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s blue-themed fall collection for the house, the store is offering 23 exclusive products at a pop-up space on the ground floor.
The event coincides with Paris Fashion Week, which is scheduled to run from Sept. 25 to Oct. 3.
Model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova joined Chiuri, Dior chief executive officer Sidney Toledano and members of the Houzé family, which runs Galeries Lafayette, to cut the ribbon in front of the zodiac-themed window displays — a nod to house founder Christian Dior’s fondness for consulting astrologers.

Doom for Switch Cuts SnapMap Feature

Bethesda has announced that level editing tool SnapMap will not feature in the Switch port of Doom.

A representative of the company revealed to Engadget that the popular feature will be left out of the game when it comes to the Nintendo Switch later this year.

SnapMap allows players on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of Doom to create custom maps and new gameplay experiences by editing the game logic. Maps can then be shared with players across the globe, and are available on every compatible platform.

Switch players will, therefore, miss out on the many user-generated maps and modes that expand the core experience of Doom.

Christopher Kane Cuts Ribbon on Bond Street Pop-Up in London

ROCKING OUT: “Surreal” was the adjective Christopher Kane chose to describe the opening of his first shop on Bond Street, a pop-up that will remain in place until the end of the year.
“I grew up knowing this street, seeing all the big brands on it. I’ve had to pinch myself now that I’m here. It feels very strange – but brilliant,” said Kane during an opening party in London on Wednesday night.
As reported, the space at 15 Old Bond Street is stocking key show and commercial ready-to-wear and accessories, and will also offer exclusive pieces made for the store. Kane’s flagship on Mount Street remains open.
Kane said he likes the idea of being able “to meet and greet” potential new customers in the Bond Street space, which has in the past been home to fellow Kering brand Bottega Veneta, and to Tod’s.
He was chatting in front of a display of marbled-surface Crocs studded with chunky, colored or sparkling rocks, some natural, others lab-grown. All of them would have made Pebbles Flintstone swoon.
“The Crocs are doing so well and we’re going to continue to collaborate with the company,” said Kane, whose decision to put Crocs on the runway caused many front-row guests to raise their

‘Big Bang Theory’ Leads Taking Pay Cuts So Female Co-Stars Can Get Raises

The five leading stars of CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory” are apparently taking pay cuts so that two of their longtime castmates can get raises.

Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg ― who have all been on the show since Season 1’s premiere in 2007 ― reportedly agreed to take $ 100,000 pay cuts from their $ 1 million per episode salaries for upcoming Seasons 11 and 12 to increase the salaries of Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, Variety reported, citing multiple sources.

Bialik ― who earned four Emmy nominations for her role as Sheldon’s girlfriend, Amy ― and Rauch have become key characters in the show since joining in Season 3. The two currently make around $ 200,000 per episode, according to Variety, and are gearing up for contract negotiations this week.

With the money from their co-stars, the two could each bump up to around $ 450,000 per episode for a 48-episode deal. However, Deadline reported they may be seeking parity with their co-stars.

Last month, The Hollywood Reporter revealed the original five actors will each be earning $ 1 million per episode for the final two seasons of the CBS series, which is television’s No. 1 comedy for the key demographic of 18-to-49-year-olds.

Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco first inked their $ 1 million per episode contracts with Warner Bros. Television back in 2014, making them TV’s current highest-paid comedy actors. In its ninth season, the show averaged 20 million viewers per episode.

Reps for Parsons, Galecki, Cuoco, Nayyar and Helberg were not immediately available to comment.
