New Era Doubles Down on Premium EK Collection

New Era noticed a gap in the market for premium hats that were at a contemporary price point, so they launched the EK Collection a few seasons ago, with the E and the K standing for New Era’s founder Ehrhardt Koch.
“Our brand is closely associated with the baseball cap, but the first hat he designed was a Gatsby hat,” said Billy Loncar, senior design manager for New Era Cap. “This line is paying homage to our heritage through materials, hardware and little finishing details.”
According to Loncar, each season the vintage aesthetic remains the same, but they infuse premium materials, new colors and different fabrications into the line. The line is broken down into Luxe, Vintage and Classic and includes a waffle-knit beanie, a shearling and velvet baseball cap, a velvet skully, a wool fedora and a herringbone driver’s cap. The line retails from $ 60 to $ 150. The collection is distributed on New Era’s e-commerce site along with Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Fred Segal, Barneys New York and Selfridges.

Adidas Doubles Down on Warehouse Concept With Brooklyn Event

For the next few days, Adidas will operate Factory 55, a pop-up space at 55 Wythe Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that promotes its P.O.D. System sneaker.
Upon entering the private warehouse through clear vinyl hanging strips, viewers are presented with a detailed breakdown on the construction of the sneaker, which they can purchase nearby, but most of the venue is dedicated to customization experiences and workshops.
There is a station for T-shirt customization, and an area where attendees can create posters along with pop-ups from Fool’s Gold, Joe Freshgoods and Procell. Adidas has also scheduled a series of workshops ranging from a creative process session with Luke Tadashi of Bristol Studio, a Zine workshop with Paper Work NYC and a lesson in screen-printing from Morning Breath.

Eison Triple Thread Doubles Down on Personalization Via Spotify

SAN FRANCISCO — Never underestimate the power of music. Eison Triple Thread certainly isn’t, with an interesting approach to personalization using Spotify playlists.
The online made-to-measure men’s wear company’s new app, launching Monday, will combine answers from a style quiz, Spotify playlists, artificial intelligence and machine learning to come up with garment options for clients.
“Over the past several months, we’ve been focused on the product piece and getting it right and finding that balance of product efficacy and making sure it fits,” said Eison Triple Thread founder and ceo Julian Eison. “We were delivering things that people actually wanted outside of ‘Hey, it looks good. It fits’ and start thinking about application and utility.”
The company began boosting it data-collection capabilities, automating off-line processes in a bid to find where the drop-off, or the decision to not move forward with a purchase, was happening online.
The app, dubbed Eison Triple Thread Fits, uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to match swatches and fits, while using music as the primary mode of drawing clients in.

Alex Jones Doubles Down On Threats Ahead Of Megyn Kelly Show

Alex Jones, conspiracy theorist and host of “InfoWars,” on Saturday intensified his call for NBC News to release a full, unedited recording of his controversial interview due to air Sunday on the network’s “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” program.

During a 15-minute rant posted to the live-streaming app Periscope, Jones said that if NBC did not publish at least about 100 minutes of his unedited interview on their website, he would release eight or more hours of secret audio recordings and footage he has of Kelly and her news team.

The recordings, Jones claims, were made in his car and at dinner with Kelly, and in the control room of his studio. During the ramblings he posted, he also insults longtime NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw and calls NBC News and Kelly “frauds.”

Jones’ threat came after earlier last week he published parts of an off-the-record phone call he had with Kelly before the videotaped interview took place. During that conversation, Kelly tells Jones that she was “not looking to portray you as some boogeyman or just any sort of gotcha moment,” adding, “I just want to talk about you.”

Jones said on Saturday that he is calling on NBC to release the unedited version of his and Kelly’s interview after watching the channel’s teaser of the upcoming profile

“I’ve already see your promo, a bunch of deception. So that’s why I know that you’re lying. That’s why I released those earlier tapes,” Jones said on Saturday.

“You can easily post that [Sunday] night, so people can see what I said,” he added, referring to the unedited version of their interview.

Critics ― which include families of the children killed during the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings ― have slammed Kelly and NBC News for giving Jones and his rhetoric a platform.

Jones, whose “InfoWars” show has amassed an audience of millions, had previously suggested that the 2012 school massacre was a hoax and claimed the victims’ parents were pretending to mourn as a ruse to promote gun control. He has since conceded that he now believes the shooting, in which 20 children and six adults were slaughtered by a gunman who then killed himself, did occur.

Other dangerous conspiracy theories Jones has peddled on his show include a false story known as Pizzagate that claimed Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign staff operated a sex trafficking ring out of a pizza restaurant in Washington. The rumors prompted a North Carolina man to bring an assault-style rifle into the restaurant to investigate.

After Jones leaked his phone call with Kelly, NBC News told HuffPost that the network still planned to broadcast the interview as scheduled.

NBC News did not return HuffPost request for comment on Saturday when asked if the media outlet would be releasing an unedited version of Kelly and Jones’ interview.
