Giorgio Armani Headed to Tokyo With Show, Armani/Ginza Tower Reopening

Signaling his admiration for the Japanese culture, Giorgio Armani is headed to Tokyo on May 24.
In the Japanese metropolis, the designer will host his first runway show for a pre-collection parading the Giorgio Armani men’s and women’s resort 2020 lineups. The location for the show has yet to be disclosed.
The show will be held in conjunction with the celebrations, that same night, for the reopening of the Armani/Ginza Tower in the city’s tony shopping district.
“I am glad to be returning to Tokyo for the reopening of Ginza Tower after its refurbishment: a major project that underscores my bond with Japan, a country whose aesthetics and culture I have always admired,” Armani said.
Nodding to the Japanese culture, the Italian designer, for instance, pierced the runway of his spring 2015 Privé haute couture show in Paris with bamboo-shaped transparent stalks and featured prints, embroideries and appliqués of the plant’s stems and leaves on the garments; gold brush strokes inspired by Japanese calligraphy decorated men’s jackets, knits and outerwear in the Emporio Armani men’s fall 2015 collection.
First unveiled in 2007, the Armani/Ginza Tower — covering about 65,000 square feet over 12 floors and two basement levels — featured the Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani

Krystal Had Hoped Peter Kraus Would Be The Bachelor — and Hints That’s She’s Headed to Paradise

Ahead of Women Tell All, here’s  Krystal Tells All?

The Bachelor contestant – whom many dubbed this year’s “villain” – Krystal Nielson spilled on what was really happening on Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s season with reality-obsessed producers of The Ellen DeGeneres Show after getting the boot during an infamous 2-on-1 date.

Turns out that like Bekah Martinez, Nielson appeared on the show hoping Peter Kraus, the fan favorite who made it to the final two on Rachel Lindsay‘s Bachelorette season, would be the guy handing out roses.

“You know, I was really pleasantly surprised,” the 30-year-old fitness coach said about Luyendyk Jr.. “I was really hoping it was going to be Peter. I wanted to give him a fair shot.”

She added, “Arie’s so different in a group setting versus one on one. In a group, he’s awkward and a little goofy and uncomfortable in a group setting. One on one, Arie’s completely different. He’s there for you. He’s very present.”

The reality star also addressed her breakdown after a group bowling date, when Luyendyk made a last-minute decision to bring all the women to the evening portion of the date despite previously saying that only the winning team of a bowling competition would have more time with him.

“The thing at the bowling alley was just my tipping point,” Nielson explained. “I’d been putting so much effort into him, and there was so much s– in the house and I was just there for Arie. When he changed his mind, some people think that’s an overreaction. I only had his word. I was pretty much done. I packed my bags that night.”

Nielson added that she wasn’t the only woman upset by the sudden change but said no one publicly had her back.

She also said she wasn’t able to address comments she made on the bus ride back to the hotel after the date, which was spoken about by the cast but not caught on camera. However, she hinted that “it was a big f–ing deal.”

Nielson said that she felt “misunderstood” during filming but didn’t know that she would be portrayed so negatively when the show aired.

“It’s such an interesting dynamic that was really hard for me to navigate through because I’m there for Arie – I gave up so much of my life for this guy and this relationship, and that’s where my focus is,” she said. “It’s not summer camp, braiding hair and making girlfriends. That’s not what I signed up for. So that really separated me instantly.”

But have we seen the last of Nielson?

Although she wouldn’t confirm that she’s been tapped to appear on Bachelor in Paradise, she definitely didn’t deny it – and she had an idea of who she’d be looking for on the beach.

“It would have to be someone who definitely works for themselves. Entrepreneurial. Definitely health and fitness. And has to be a dog person,” Nielson said, immediately causing co-executive producer Corey Palent to respond, “That’s Peter!”

The Most Iconic Costume From Grease Is Headed to Auction

Olivia Newton-John just let it slip that her most iconic outfit from Grease will hit the auction block sometime soon. The actress told US Weekly that she has plans to auction her “leather ensemble” in order to raise funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, based in Melbourne, Australia.

There’s no way that the costume she’s referring to isn’t the super-sexy leggings and off-the-shoulder top she wore to reveal her bad-girl side to Danny at the graduation carnival, right? The pants were so tight that she reportedly had to be sewn into them before filming; after, she took them as a parting gift.

Newton-John’s talked about a desire to sell off the pants to raise funds for her charity before, telling Oprah about her intention while bringing the skinnies along for a show visit back in 2011.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Musical Headed For Las Vegas Stage

Duck Dynasty” is making the leap from the small screen to the stage, with reports that a musical based on the controversial family is headed to Las Vegas.

The musical, from the production company behind “Jersey Boys,” will be a semi-biographical show based on Willie and Korie Robertson’s book, “The Duck Commander Family: How Faith, Family, and Ducks Built a Dynasty,” The Hollywood Reporter said.

The show will not star the Robertson family, but instead feature actors playing members of the family, the website reported.

The New York Times says the 90-minute, 14-song show will likely open in February at The Rio, which is currently home to Penn & Teller’s live show as well as a Chippendales performance.

I think the expectation is that it’ll be all chicken-pickin’ stuff and banjos, but what we’re trying to do is pull out as much heart, humor and sincerity as we can to keep people surprised,” Steven Morris, one of the show’s composers, told the newspaper.

The Times also reports that anti-gay remarks from family patriarch Phil Robertson will be addressed in the show.

In an interview with GQ last year, Phil Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality and said African-Americans were happy before the civil rights era.

Robertson later issued an apology, but has continued to make controversial remarks. In June, he claimed he was “trying to help those poor souls and turn them to Jesus” and in September said he’s as much of a homophobe as Jesus. He has also claimed that AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases are God’s “penalty” for immoral conduct.

“The Robertsons are so unusual, their story so juicy, and theater shouldn’t be limited to telling stories about people you resemble or revere,” producer Michael David, who said he was personally offended by the comments, told the Times.

Season 7 of “Duck Dynasty” premieres next week on A&E.

Michelle Obama’s Second Inauguration Dress Headed To Smithsonian

WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama’s fashion is making history again, at least for the next year, as her second inaugural gown will be displayed at the Smithsonian Institution.

Before it’s stowed away for a future presidential library, Obama’s ruby-colored chiffon gown made by designer Jason Wu is being lent to the National Museum of American History for a year to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Smithsonian’s first ladies exhibition. The dress will be paired with Obama’s shoes designed by Jimmy Choo and will go on display beginning Tuesday. While the Smithsonian traditionally collects each first lady’s first inaugural gown, second gowns are usually shown only in presidential libraries. This is the first time the museum has displayed a second inaugural gown.

The dress was transferred to the National Archives but is being lent to the Smithsonian with the White House’s blessing. Smithsonian Curator Lisa Kathleen Graddy said it seemed like a nice time to start a new tradition in the ever-evolving First Ladies exhibit for those who serve two terms in the White House.

“The more I started thinking about it, it’s such a long time before the presidential library is built,” she said. “There’s such interest in the dress, I thought maybe it would be interesting if we could borrow the dress and do a special display, a special limited-time display here so that people would get a chance to see it.”

This dress drew headlines when Obama unveiled her selection one year ago. It was the second custom-made Jason Wu gown Obama had chosen, following the white gown Wu designed for the first lady when she arrived in Washington and on the fashion scene. Since then, Obama has become a trendsetter.

The red gown is embellished with cut velvet that carries a unique shimmer, Graddy said. It features a cross-halter strap neckline, and the ring at the top is adorned with small diamonds.

“It’s certainly a change, isn’t it, from the white dress with the train,” Graddy said, recalling Obama’s first gown in the museum’s collection. “It’s this amazing, vivid red. No train. So it’s a much slimmer dress — still flowing — but a much slimmer-lined dress. It’s an incredible change of color from that beautiful sparkly white.”

It’s unusual for a first lady to use the same designer twice, at least in recent decades. Wu has said it’s been the experience of his life to help dress the first lady, taking him from fashion insider to a household name since the first inauguration in 2009. Mrs. Obama also has turned to designer Thom Browne for special outfits, including her coat and dress for inauguration day in 2013.

Even her outfits from J. Crew draw notice, and some of Obama’s apparel choices sell out quickly online. For 2014, Pantone Inc.’s color of the year — orchid, a shade of purple — was introduced with a nod to the fact it’s a color Mrs. Obama often wears. Pantone sets color standards for the design industry.

From time to time, the people want to copy the fashion of a first lady, Graddy said, noting Jacqueline Kennedy as an example.

“People look at what she is wearing. They admire it,” she said of Obama. “I don’t think that fashion is Michelle Obama’s first priority. I think that obviously she’s interested in what she wears, and she puts a lot of thought into it — and that’s what people see and respond to is a very put-together look that they would like to emulate.”

The Jimmy Choo shoes paired with Obama’s second gown had a much shorter heel, seemingly more comfortable than her heels for the first inaugural, Graddy said. The first lady knew how long she would be on her feet for the second inaugural.
