Instagram Launches New Features to Stop Bullying

Instagram is rolling out two new features in its effort to stop bullying.
Facebook chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, helped reveal the social media platform’s two new features on Monday that work to end bullying on Instagram. The first is a “restrict” option, which makes it so that only the user and the restricted account will be able to see each other’s comments, unless the initial user approves the comment for public viewing. The second feature is “comment warning,” which alerts users before posting when their comments may be considered offensive.

Today we announced two new @instagram features to help stop bullying online.⁣ ⁣ Young people tell us they’re hesitant to block, unfollow, or report bullies because it could make their situation worse. With “Restrict” you can protect your account from bullying without notifying the person targeting you. Once you restrict someone, only you and they can see their comments on your posts unless you approve their comments. And “Comment Warning” lets people know when their comment might be considered offensive before they post it. Tests show that this encourages some people to undo their comment and share something less hurtful instead.⁣ ⁣

Viktor & Rolf’s Couture Show Goes Viral on Instagram

Viktor & Rolf’s Instagram-inspired couture collection is coming full circle: It’s gone viral.
Taking inspiration from Instagram caption one-liners, like “Sorry I’m late, I didn’t want to come” and “I’m not shy I just don’t like you,” the brand’s fanciful collection of tulle ballgowns at Wednesday’s spring 2019 couture show has been flooding Instagram feeds and has even inspired a number of memes.
Artist and meme account Saint Hoax joined in on the fun with a series of altered images from the Viktor & Rolf runway featuring celebrities and quotes they’re infamously known for, like Lady Gaga’s overused “100 people in the room” story from the “A Star Is Born” press tour and one of Kris Jenner’s most memorable quotes from “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Calling the collection of dresses “Fashion Statements,” the designers wanted to balance the overused sayings with over-the-top dresses that reference the ruffles and large silhouettes of period dress.
“It’s the kind of message you find on social media, with the same instant feeling,” Rolf Snoeren noted during a preview of the collection with WWD. “All these statements that are so obvious or easy — there’s a lot of banality on Instagram and social media in

Iskra Lawrence Talks Instagram Fame, Struggling With Eating Disorders at FIT Symposium

Inclusivity, the power of social media fame, the prevalence of eating disorders among models and how they can transcend size were among the issues discussed Friday at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
The Model Alliance’s Sara Ziff led the talk with Iskra Lawrence, Lauren Chan and JAG Models’ Gary Dakin, which was part of The Museum at FIT’s “Fashion and Physique” symposium.
Lawrence described an experience when she was 13, being backstage at a fashion show “buck naked” and unable to fit into any of the garments. After telling a stylist what was wrong, she said he told her, “Well, you’re too fat then,” despite the fact that she wore a size 4 to 6. That experience triggered her disordered eating for five or six years, Lawrence said.
Now an internationally known large-size model with four million followers on Instagram, Lawrence said she believes aspiration “should not be a look but a feeling, if that’s confidence, empowerment, even if it’s sexiness, whatever that might be.” To that end, she decided to share only untouched photos and to talk about her relationship with her body, “to show that even as a model or someone in the media, we all have the same feelings of

Stefano Pilati Teases Upcoming Collection on Instagram, Again

PILATI’S ENCORE: Stefano Pilati has taken to Instagram Stories for the second time, revealing teaser images that suggest that his latest fashion project — revealed in June — is progressing, although he has yet to detail plans for it.
“For the second Instagram Stories story of Random Identities, the focus is on the fashion, as in the art used as the background of the 15 looks,” Pilati said to WWD over e-mail. He was referring to the images of his models, who are posed in front of artworks. “The brand concept is still in development and once more, the clothes aren’t for sale. #itisnotaboutsilhouettes #artbystefanopilati.”
Pilati plans to post 15 looks. The first ones include some male models wearing women’s clothes and some women wearing men’s wear. They are wearing trousers, coats and knee-length skirts in a palette of black, white, khaki and denim — and a little bit of brown. He also showed a striped leather bomber, slim suits, a belted dress, button-down shirts, sweaters as well as T-shirts.
It is understood that the artworks in the background were created by Pilati in the Nineties, before he embarked on his fashion career.

Colette Jewelry Taps Georgia Fowler for Instagram Campaign

Los Angeles-based fine-jewelry brand Colette this week will debut #ColetteWoman, a digital and Instagram campaign featuring two-time Victoria’s Secret runway model Georgia Fowler wearing the brand’s holiday and signature pieces.
Fowler, who has 408,000 followers on the social media platform, will be the brand’s first official face, representing the ideal Colette woman.
“I first discovered Georgia on Instagram,” designer Colette Steckel said, “where I followed her travels around the world and was instantly drawn to her ‘joie de vivre,’ warmth and cool sense of style. A serendipitous run-in in Paris last season sealed the deal for both of us; it was meant to be.”
Steckel described the #ColetteWoman as “a woman of the world, shaped by her diverse experiences. She’s fearless, independent and finds beauty in all of her encounters.” It was important to Steckel to find a woman who would resonate with her creative influences, many of which stem from her French-Mexican heritage and extensive travels. To celebrate the launch, she’s inviting friends, fans and collectors to share how they identify with Georgia and the #ColetteWoman, using the hashtag.
Photographed by Felisha Tolentino with makeup by Spencer Barnes and hair by Amber Rose, the campaign also signifies an overhaul of Colette’s digital strategy.

Instagram Reactions to Pierre Bergé’s Death

PARIS – Instagram was flooded with tributes and comments on Friday following the death of Pierre Bergé, Yves Saint Laurent’s former business partner, at the age of 86.
“Merci Pierre,” wrote Anthony Vaccarello, who took over as creative director of the Yves Saint Laurent brand in 2016. Bergé, who founded the house with the late couturier, was supportive of Vaccarello, in stark contrast with his criticism of predecessors such as Tom Ford and Stefano Pilati.

Brands Distancing Themselves From Louise Linton Instagram Post

Valentino has no qualms in denying any ties to Louise Linton after the new wife of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin posted on Instagram an image of herself exiting a government plane and provided a slew of designer hashtags.
A spokeswoman said plainly that “Louise Linton did not receive any gifted merchandise, compensation or loans from Valentino” when asked whether the company had any formal business interest in being tagged in a late Monday post by Linton.
The actress, whose most high-profile role to date is a 2007 appearance on “CSI: NY,” is also not affiliated in any way with and has received no free merchandise from Tom Ford, a brand she also mentioned in her post.
With tags like “#rolandmouret pants,” “#tomford sunnies,” “#hermesscarf,” and “#valentinorockstudheels #valentino,” it seemed like Linton was taking after the growing droves of digital influencers that are compensated for mentioning brands and their products on social media. Instagram is particularly popular for branded influencer-created content.

Representatives of Roland Mouret and Hermès could not be reached for comment on the post.

Ariel Winter Tackles Slut-Shaming In Poignant Instagram Post

Ariel Winter is back at it again with a body-positive message.

On June 8, the “Modern Family” star posted a powerful illustration on Instagram that shows exactly why slut-shaming women for what they’re wearing is so problematic ― and plain absurd. The artwork was originally created by The Equality Institute and appears to have been updated by Stephanie Nemmer. The Equality Institute is an organization fighting for gender equality and preventing violence against women.

Winter posted the illustration on Instagram, along with the hashtag #yourbodyisYOURS.

A post shared by ARIEL WINTER (@arielwinter) on

The illustration looks to be inspired by a 2013 photo taken by Canadian college student Rosea Lake that features a young woman’s legs with markings. Each marking reveals the varying judgements that are thrust upon women depending on their skirt length. The markings near the woman’s ankle and calf say “matronly” and “prudish,” while the markings that signal a shorter skirt read “whore,” “slut” and “asking for it.”

In the artwork Winter posted, all of these markings are crossed out to reveal a new statement that reads: “Someone that can do what the fuck ever they want with their body because skirt length does not correlate to how sexually available that person is regardless of how society teaches that we should be ashamed of our bodies.”

On June 6, Nemmer tweeted that she “fixed” the original illustration. The tweet shows the before and after of Nemmer’s “fix.”

As of Friday afternoon, Nemmer’s tweet had received over 36,000 retweets and 47,000 likes.

Amber Rose’s Super NSFW Pantsless Photo Gets Deleted from Instagram — but She’s Not Bothered

This post contains strong language and NSFW images.

Amber Rose made a splash on social media Friday night, posting a pantless (and VERY NSFW) photo to promote her third annual SlutWalk — the Los Angeles event she created with the goal of promoting female empowerment, combating gender inequality and putting an end to victim-blaming by addressing the double-standards placed on woman.

The image — which showed the 33-year-old model completely naked from the waist down — was removed by Instagram within hours of going up, as it violated the site’s no-nudity policy.

“We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on Instagram,” Instagram states in their community guidelines.

Rose reacted to the decision with laughter, rolling her eyes in an Instagram video.

“When IG deletes ur fire a– feminist post but you really don’t give a f—- because everyone picked it up already,” she captioned the video — adding the hashtags “#amberroseslutwalk” and “#bringbackthebush.”

The Loveline host also posted the photo to Twitter, where it remains up (warning, link is very NSFW) and has been liked over 50,000 times.

“#Amberroseslutwalk,” she wrote with the image on Twitter, linking to the official site of the event.

Twitter users remained mostly in support of Rose — with some questioning what her 4-year-old son Sebastian would think of the photo.

The third annual SlutWalk is scheduled for Oct. 1 at Downtown Los Angeles’ Pershing Square. While details are still being finalized, the website promises a pep rally and entertainment, art show, musical performance, celebrity quest appearances and testimonials in addition to the awareness walk.

“The Amber Rose SlutWalk Festival is an inclusive space,” the organizers said in a statement on the event’s official site. “This event is a zero-tolerance event, and we do not condone hateful language, racism, sexism, ableism, fat-shaming, transphobia, or any other bigotry. Further, we recognize shaming, oppression, assault, and violence have disproportionately affected marginalized groups, including women of color, transgender people, and sex workers, and we are actively working to center these groups at our events.”

As Rose previously told PEOPLE, she launched the walk after being moved by a photo of a young woman wearing pasties with the words ‘Still Not Asking for It’ written on her chest.

“I wanted to do something,” said Rose, who is well-known for her own revealing, body-confident fashion choices. “The point is you can wear whatever you want and it’s not an invitation.”

Mom’s Viral ‘Behind The Scenes’ Photo Reveals The Reality Of Instagram Perfection

After posting a “perfect” selfie, a U.K.-based mom and blogger followed up with a powerful message about body image.

On May 16, Tova Leigh posted a photo of herself on Instagram, along with a caption about corsets and unrealistic body image standards.

A post shared by Tova Leigh (@tova_leigh) on

After receiving tons of “likes” and compliments from friends, Leigh made the selfie her profile picture on Facebook.

But she later felt guilt about her choice of photo and the filters and edits she used to create it. On May 28, the mom shared a follow-up post to reveal the reality behind the “perfect” selfie.

“Today I am sharing the ‘behind the scenes’ of that image,” Leigh wrote. “How I actually looked when it was taken, without 20 attempts to get it right, without cropping out the bits I don’t like and without adding the ‘make me look pretty’ filter.”

The mom explained that over the weekend, she read an article about the way social media can make people feel depressed and insecure because they perceive the perfect-looking images to be real.

“Well let me tell you something: THIS IS REAL,” she wrote. “In all my mum-tum, cellulitis, granny pants and absolutely zero thigh gap glory! Not the perfect sexy body by some dictated standard, but imperfectly fabulous because it is real and it is mine.”

Leigh concluded with some advice for people to keep in mind the next time they see a “perfect” photo on Instagram or Facebook and start to feel self-conscious: “Social media is full of shit. You are beautiful just the way you are. And there is nothing sexier than being real.”

The post received over 37,000 likes. Leigh has three daughters ― a 6-year-old and 4-year-old twins. She told HuffPost they inspired her to share this message.

“They’re obviously still not on social media, and I sometimes worry about when they will be,” she explained. “As somebody who uses social media quite a bit for my work, I am well aware of how misleading it can be, and at the age of 41 I take things with a pinch of salt as I know that what I see is not always reality. “

Reading about the negative effects of social media “perfection” ― particularly on teenagers ― prompted Leigh to share the truth of her own “perfect” selfie.

“In reality, I was standing in my underwear in my bathroom facing a window, so I had really good light,” she recalled. “I had a mirror in front of me and I must’ve tried at least 20 times before I got the perfect shot.”

But the image was “dishonest,” and Leigh said she felt like a fraud after receiving compliments on how she looked in photo. “It did not represent what that moment really looks like, so I decided to share the truth.”

Though the blogger was hesitant to share such an intimate photo, she’s glad she did. Leigh has been overwhelmed by the positive reactions and all the kind messages she’s received from women around the world thanking her for her honesty.

“We live in a world and a society that puts a lot of pressure on women, young girls teenagers etc to look a certain way,” she told HuffPost. “We tend to share the good moments and the attractive bits about our lives which I guess is understandable, but at the same time is very misleading.”

She added, “If you look at social media you will see that 99 percent of images look perfect. But how does that even make sense? Life is not perfect. We are not perfect. And that was the point I was trying to get across: We’re not perfect but that is totally OK. Being real is far more powerful than being perfect.”

The Rodarte sisters are the latest designers to launch their own Instagram account, in addition to their brand’s official page.
Their first posts were the poster and trailer for their upcoming film “Woodshock,” which stars close friend and Rodarte front row mainstay Kirsten Dunst, due in theaters September 15.

Other posts so far include behind the scenes images from filming, and a personal photo of their mother.

While it’s hard to imagine there are holdouts from Instagram in the fashion community, 2017 has seen a handful of recent additions to the social site. Céline started an account in February, ahead of its fall show in Paris, and the designer Erdem Moralioglu created a personal account earlier this year in addition to his brand’s, much like the Mulleavy sisters.

Zendaya Totally Lost It After Rihanna Praised Her Met Gala Look On Instagram

Following Monday night’s annual Met Gala, everyone on the internet seemingly agreed that Rihanna had won the night. But the pop star, who soaked up the compliments, had some love to spare for fellow fashionista Zendaya

RiRi shared a stunning image on Instagram of the Disney star walking up the Met steps in her gorgeous yellow gown, with the caption, “Brown goddess.”

Like any normal human would react if Rihanna sang your praises, Zendaya promptly freaked out.

She commented on Ri’s photo, thanking her “a million times over” and telling her, “I appreciate you so much,” according to Elle. Then, she took to Snapchat, where she really let her emotions out.

“This is not a drill!” she alerted her fans. “I never thought a post could mean so much to me in all my life.”

This Cheeky Instagram Page Is Dedicated To Vacation Butt Shots (NSFW)

Now this is an Instagram page people can really get behind.

It’s called @CheekyExploits and it’s dedicated to bare butt shots of people on vacation.

Whether on the sand …

The snow …

At a vineyard in France …

In an alley …

Or on a hotel balcony …

The page is the brainchild of a 31-year-old woman in London who prefers to only be known as “Cheeky.”

She started @CheekyExploits last July after being inspired by an account following one man’s butt around the world.

“I thought this was such a fun idea and my friends, husband and I already had a small collection of photos similar to this,” Cheeky told HuffPost. “So I started the account as a fun way to share them amongst our friend group.”

From there, Cheeky managed to convince strangers to pose for her. Then she started getting submissions through the account and it has just snowballed from there.

“I never meant for the account to necessarily be about travel and certainly never intended to start a trend,” she said. “It was just a bit of fun and, also, I enjoyed encouraging people to be comfortable with their bodies and participate for the thrill and confidence boost.”

Cheeky is upfront about which spots make the best butt photos.

“The most friendly butt locations tend to be fields, cliffs and beaches,” she said. “I find that people are more comfortable stripping down when they can do so with less risk.”

Although some people might think the page is asinine, Cheeky insists she has standards. She turns up her nose at pics that are too close-up, just someone in the mirror in their bedroom or overtly sexual.

Cheeky is getting so many submissions that she jokes her life is becoming one big butt pun, “and my friends don’t miss the opportunity to make one.”

Still, she has dreams of the butt pics she’d really like to see.

“I would to love take one in a rainforest with monkeys climbing around,” she said. “Or another one that I think would be really cool is in Giza with a camel!”

Busy Philipps Says She Made More Money Doing Instagram Ads Than Acting Last Year

Busy Philipps is getting honest about her money.

The 37-year-old actress opened up about her income in a Thursday Instagram Story, revealing that she made more money last year doing sponsored ads on the social media site than through acting.

After someone said that they liked Philipps’ Instagram because she wasn’t always posting #spon like some other celebrities, the actress revealed that she “wasn’t above it” and had done sponsored content in the past — but only for brands she actually liked.

“I gotta be honest with you, I didn’t make a ton of money as an actor last year,” Philipps said. “I made more money doing that kind of stuff, like the partnerships with brands.”

It is common for celebrities to promote brands on the photo-sharing site. Stars like Khloé Kardashian, Lea Michele, Bella Hadid and more have gotten in on the action.

“I’m not above it, guys,” Philipps said in the clip. “I just only choose things that I genuinely like and, like, would want to partner with, like, for instance, my Michaels partnership, which, you know, is my favorite thing of all time. And I’m doing one next week, I think, that feels like me.”

Busy Philipps Describes Her ‘Freaking Creepy’ Uber Scare

The mother-of-two‘s Instagram account has several posts promoting the arts and crafts retail chain along with Campbell’s Soup and more.

However, she noted in the video that she likely wouldn’t promote a product that she deemed “random and weird” — “Unless it was, like, a billion dollars.”

“I’m gonna sell things,” she continued. “That’s my only point.”

Philipps currently plays Gale Liptrapp in HBO’s Vice Principals and last year made appearances on New Girl and Angie Tribeca.

Serena Williams Pens Moving Instagram Post to Baby: ‘You Gave Me the Strength I Didn’t Know I Had’

Serena Williams can’t wait to meet her little bundle of joy.

The tennis champion took to Instagram on Monday morning, posting a moving love note to her unborn baby — just days after news broke that she and her fiancé Alexis Ohanian are expecting their first child.

“My Dearest Baby, You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year,” Williams, 35, wrote alongside a photo of herself lounging in a swimsuit.

“But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you …. once again today. On @alexisohanian bday. 😉 from the world’s oldest number one to the world’s youngest number one. — Your Mommy.”

Want all the latest pregnancy and birth announcements, plus celebrity mom blogs? Click here to get those and more in the PEOPLE Babies newsletter.

The sweet post comes as Williams appeared to be on a babymoon. Her Instagram page has been riddled with shots of the athlete on a beach.

The star broke the pregnancy news last week with a simple mirror selfie on Snapchat, writing, “20 weeks” — with her baby bump clearly visible.

A rep for the tennis star later told PEOPLE, “I’m happy to confirm Serena is expecting a baby this fall.”

The headline-making baby news comes just a few months after the tennis great announced that she is engaged to the Reddit co-founder. Williams, who likes to keep her personal life private, made the announcement in a poem on Reddit.

“I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage waited. Destination: Rome,” she wrote. “To escort me to my very own ‘charming.’ Back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle. At the same table we first met by chance.”

Williams added, “But by choice. Down on knee. He said 4 words. And I said yes.” Ohanian posted his fiancée’s Reddit announcement on Facebook, captioning it simply, “She said yes.”

Williams holds the record for the most Grand Slam titles of any player in the Open Era, clinching her 23rd at January’s Australian Open.

This will be the first child for both.

7 Famous Instagram Rabbits You Need to Follow Right Now, That Aren’t the Easter Bunny

It’s the bunny’s biggest moment of the year. While the tooth fairy has a 365-day-a-year gig, the powers of rabbits are limited to just one morning: Easter Sunday.

On this day, like Santa, the Easter bunny manages to traverse the world with enough jelly beans and chocolate goodies for millions of people. It’s pretty magical, but bunnies in general deserve more than just one day of recognition. We’re talking about insanely fluffy animals, with long, occasionally floppy ears and the most adorable twitchy noses.

These are creatures that deserve to be celebrated every day. That’s why we rounded up seven of the cutest rabbit accounts on Instagram. This way, when the sugar high wears off from your Easter basket, you will still have plenty of sweetness to enjoy.

These Besties Put A Hilarious Spin On The #FollowMeTo Instagram Trend

These days, the #followmeto vacation pic trend is ubiquitous on Instagram. The trend took off in 2013, when photographer Murad Osmann began posting images of his girlfriend-turned wife Natalia Zakharova holding his hand in breathtaking locations all around the world. Here’s one of them in Jordan:

#followmeto the amazing Petra in Jordan with @yourleo. One of my favorite pictures. #shareyourjordan

A post shared by Murad Osmann (@muradosmann) on

Now, a ton of couples do it:

I feel it coming #followmeto #ялoвлютвоеloveyou

A post shared by T S Y M B A (@tsymbavlad) on

The photos look effortlessly beautiful but as two best friends from Montreal are proving in a viral Instagram post, a lot of hard work goes into staging one.

In the first pic, 19-year-old Instagrammer Claudia Tihan gives us the classic #followmeto pose:

what she see's vs. what i see #swiperight

A post shared by Claudia Tihan (@claudiatihan) on

In the next photo, the perspective is flipped and we see Tihan’s bestie Elisabeth Rioux, also 19, really struggling to get that perfect, Instagram-worthy shot:

If that’s not the ultimate look of concentration, we don’t know what is.

Since sharing the hilarious comparison pics two weeks ago, Tihan’s post has received over 183,000 “likes.” In an interview with The Huffington Post, the 19-year-old model said the pics were taken all in good fun on a recent vacation in Hawaii.

“When Elisabeth was taking the pics, all I could see was her bending in crazy angles to get the perfect shot,” she said. “It was so great, I needed to snap it. It shows what nobody sees on Instagram in all these stunning shots!”

Yep, clearly, behind every great Instagram is a friend or S.O. willing to contort, squat and bend to make it happen.

The Best Makeup And Beauty Instagram Accounts

Sometimes when we think we need a whole a makeover, all we really need is to tweak our beauty routine. Even the unicorn lipstick that once made us feel invincible can start to feel stale after a while.

We rounded up our favorite Instagram accounts that keep beauty front and center. It’s true that a search for the hashtag #beauty on Instagram will turn up a whopping 159.2 million posts. Yet only a handful of those posts come from the accounts you really want to know about.

So scroll through and find a new way to use the makeup you’ve got, or find a reason to buy something new. Don’t worry, we need very little convincing, too.

Busy Phillips’ ‘Mom Pain’ Instagram Is Relatable As Hell

A huge part of being a parent is carrying a million heavy things everywhere you go. On occasions when I’ve been able to leave the house solo, I feel like twirling around like Maria in “The Sound of Music” because I feel so free and unburdened without my usual purse/my son’s backpack/bag full of snacks plus a soccer ball/heavy-ass bicycle/27 grocery bags burden.

That, plus lifting and carrying a 20-50-pound human on one side of your body, can contribute to some weird aches and pains.

That’s why Busy Philipps’ latest Instagram post is so relatable.

Underneath a picture of herself loaded down with giant bags, the actress wrote: “I’m getting an MRI on my right shoulder tomorrow because I’ve been having so much pain for the last several months. Everyone has been asking how I injured it and I don’t have a good answer. BUT THEN I JUST CAUGHT MY REFLECTION WALKING UP TO MY HOUSE. I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT GUYS. I’M A MOM.”

Philipps and her husband, Marc Silverstein, have two daughters, 8-year-old Birdie and 3-year-old Cricket. Phillips regularly shares sweet photos of the two on Instagram.

Let’s hope Philipps’ insurance covers “mom shoulder.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Consciously Couples With ‘Glee’ Boyfriend On Instagram

Out of all the things to come out of “Glee” (a Lea Michele-Naya Rivera feud, Jane Lynch’s overdue recognition as a comedic genius, rampant slushie abuse, etc.) we never expected that Gwyneth Paltrow would be the one carrying the torch all these years later.

Well, the Oscar-winning actress and her television executive boyfriend Brad Falchuk, who met while working together on the hit TV musical series, have been dating for nearly two years now. They’ve somehow managed to keep things on the down low apart from a group photo collage here and a paparazzi-heavy party there.

That is, until Wednesday, when Paltrow consciously made the coupling Instagram official by sharing a sweet message to Falchuk on his 46th birthday. Break out your $ 200 pelvic floor exercise tracker, because these two aren’t’ fooling around!

“Happy birthday handsome,” she captioned a photo of the two of them cozying up together.

Happy birthday, handsome

A post shared by Gwyneth Paltrow (@gwynethpaltrow) on

Apart from the selfie, we don’t exactly know how Falchuk decided to spend the big day, but we can only hope that it included Paltrow reprising her “Glee” character Holly Holiday for a a birthday rendition of “Forget You.”

Coincidentally, Paltrow’s ex-husband Coldplay’s Chris Martin celebrated his 40th birthday the day before Falchuk’s. Despite the developments in her love life, the actress and Martin still remain close, as the two co-parent their children Apple, 12, and Moses, 10.

Speaking with InStyle in December, Paltrow revealed that Martin would still “take a bullet” for her even though they are no longer together.

“He’s at my house every single day,” she said. “We have our own lives but we still have our family life.”

Falchuk is also dad to two kids with his with his ex-wife, Suzanne Falchuk, so when it comes to this pairing, it’s one big happy family.

Yayoi Kusama’s ‘Infinity Rooms’ Are Here To Turn Your Instagram Feed Into Art

Throughout her 70-year career, Japanese artist and almighty priestess of polka dots Yayoi Kusama has created a series of rooms ― mirrored, enclosed spaces that use water, twinkly lights, bespeckled balloons, soft phallic sculptures and pumpkins ― to prompt viewers to contemplate the idea of the infinite universe.

And, from what we’ve gleaned, the infinite universe is very photogenic.

On Friday, Feb. 24, the stunning traveling exhibition “Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors” opens at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., featuring six of Kusama’s iconic, infinite spaces.

Viewers are encouraged to enter each space alone, with approximately 45 seconds to take it in once inside. It’s probably a smart idea to sign up for free, timed passes to minimize time spent waiting in lines ― the exhibition is expected to be a blockbuster.

Since you won’t have boundless time to photograph yourself in the seemingly boundless spaces, you’d be wise to head into the rooms ready to take in the work and take a photo in an expedient manner. And know this: snapping a selfie in the dizzying space is not disrespectful toward Kusama’s mission. In fact, a photo is a simple way to harness the spirit of her rooms ― by multiplying yourself, immersing yourself in your environment, and becoming an infinite image yourself.

Stay tuned for our full review of the exhibition. In the meantime, take a digital walk through the show below, and read more about the exhibition here

Gucci Teases Upcoming Campaign on Instagram

Gucci’s upcoming campaign seems to involve spirit animals and a lot of dancing. Last week the fashion house released nine short videos of young men and women during a casting in London to appear in the label’s new pre-fall 2017 ad campaign.
Aged 19 to 23, the protagonists of the clips are asked different questions, including “what’s your spirit animal?” and “what does it mean to have a soul?” before showing their dancing skills on Duke Browner’s track “Crying Over You.”

While the answers are all different and peculiar, listing elephants, bulls, tigers and baby giraffes as spirit animals and highlighting how having a soul means “to be you in the purest form,” the nine modeling newcomers all share the trait of being people of color, which may hint at a pre-fall campaign celebrating diversity.

The tease has already sparked a strong social media reaction, dividing the audience into supporters of the concept, who find it fun and inspiring, and into those who consider the choice of casting exclusively people of color not diverse enough.

Lamar Odom Celebrates the New Year with Kids By His Side in First Instagram Post Since Entering Rehab

Lamar Odom is ending 2016 on the right note.

The former NBA star checked himself into a 30-day rehab program earlier this month to address the demons that led to his near-fatal overdose. And while he reportedly intends to be there when the ball drops, it appears he spent some time during the final hours of the year with the ones he loves most.

Odom, 37, posted a photo of him and two of his kids, Destiny Odom and Lamar Odom Jr., to Instagram Saturday morning — the three of them smiling in the sweet family photo.

“No better way to end 2016 than with my two favorite people,” he wrote, hashtagging the shot “#TheOdoms” and “#RichSoil.”

It was Lamar’s first Instagram post in nearly seven months.

In October 2015, Odom suffered a near-fatal overdose and was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. PEOPLE confirmed that cocaine and opiates were in his system when he was admitted for emergency treatment and lapsed into a four-day coma at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

Months later, in the summer of 2016, he was often spotted out at bars and strip clubs while spending time back home in New York City.

He’d been keeping a low profile since then, returning to Los Angeles this fall. The move was a positive choice for Odom, according to sources who told PEOPLE it was “a great thing” for him to be away “from the negative influences in New York.”

Also a positive choice? Checking into the substance abuse program — something another insider told PEOPLE was Lamar’s choice.

“This is a precautionary measure,” the source said, explaining that Odom was clean and not abusing drugs when he went in.

While in rehab, Odom’s protracted divorce from estranged ex-wife Khloé Kardashian, 32, was finalized. The couple tied the knot on national TV in September 2009, but the marriage fell apart after Odom’s cheating scandal and drug relapse.

Kardashian first filed for divorce in 2013. The stars finally both signed divorce papers in July 2015 — but a few months later, Kardashian called off their divorce following Odom’s overdose. She reinitiated divorce proceedings in May.

“He wants to stay clear and focused,” the source added. “With the divorce from Khloé being finalized and the holidays coming up, he doesn’t want to slip up. He’s trying to take care of himself. He really wants to be better. His friends and family encouraged him to go in and he agreed and made the decision.”

“’s being very adult and mature and just wants to be a great father and brother, a better friend,” another source told PEOPLE. “The goal is for him to be inside during Christmas and New Years. Crazy things happen during those times. There’s been amazing reports from the doctors thus far. He’s doing extraordinary well, he’s in great spirits.”

In January, Odom is expected to appear on The Doctors for his first sit-down interview since rehab. No air date for the program has been set yet.

A source also told PEOPLE that the star is also planning on filming a reality show about his road to recovery.

Drake And Jennifer Lopez Ignite Romance Rumors With Instagram Pic

If there was a thought bubble for this picture, we wouldn’t be surprised if Jennifer Lopez was telling her apparent new beau Drake, “I luh ya papi.”

After news outlets started speculating about the status of their relationship, J.Lo and Drake both shared the same, cozy photo on Instagram Tuesday night, in which they’re seen embracing on a couch. Neither one of them captioned the picture, but actions speak louder than words.

A photo posted by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on

Rumors about the pair escalated last week after Drake attended two of Lopez’s Las Vegas shows back-to-back. He also hosted “a super intimate dinner” at Delilah in West Hollywood, which J.Lo attended. They even took a selfie together and posted it two weeks ago. Lopez captioned the cute photo, “Look who rolled up to my show tonight to say hi!! @champagnepapi #lovehim#jlovegas #ALLIHAVE.”

Under his post of the same pic, Drake simply wrote, “ <―――― Lotta those.”

<——– Lotta those

A photo posted by champagnepapi (@champagnepapi) on

Oddly enough, devoted Instagram users and Rihanna fans noticed that she unfollowed J.Lo over the holiday weekend, causing many to believe DraLo is the real deal. Of course, Drake and RiRi have a romantic history.

As for Lopez, she split from her on-and-off again ex, Casper Smart, in October.

Jon Swihart’s Instagram “Selfies” of Greg Escalante Are Hilarious

Selfie at the Hindenburg Disaster

Two years ago, as part of his preparation for painting an oil portrait of art dealer Greg Escalante, artist Jon Swihart took some photos of his subject: LOTS of them. “The session went on for two hours,” Escalante recalls, “and near the end I started goofing off.” Swihart came away from the shoot with dozens of digital images of Escalante including some in which Escalante mocked his own vanity by taking selfies. “Greg loves to laugh,” Swihart recounts, “and the whole thing was really just a lot of fun.” When it was all over, Escalante didn’t give the photos a second thought: “I just forgot about them.” he states.

The painted portrait that came out of experience was everything that Escalante expected and more. Escalante, who feels strongly that Swihart is one of today’s greatest painters, knew that Swihart had a reputation for producing flawless, mesmerizing portraits, and that is exactly what he got.

Portrait of Greg Escalante, 2014 Oil on panel, 12″ x 8.5,” Collection of Greg Escalante

But even before the oil painting was finished, Escalante got a “bonus” portrait that he hadn’t bargained for. He opened his e-mail one day to find that Swihart had photoshopped him into the indelibly memorable black and white news photo in which Lee Harvey Oswald is shot by Jack Ruby. Escalante appears on the left edge of the frame, gleefully taking a selfie while a tragedy unfolds behind him. As a parody of the extreme narcissism and self-absorption of self-selfie takers it works…

2015-10-15-1444914022-3598010-ScreenShot20151015at5.59.09AM.png

Selfie at the Oswald Shooting

Although the image was meant as a joke between friends, Escalante put the image on Instagram, and the reactions came quickly: it was really funny. Of course, some also took the image seriously — as art even — and the image ended up on display in an Arizona museum as part of an exhibition about guns in art.

Since the appearance of that first “selfie” Swihart has created well over 150 more images, placing Escalante in iconic photos, in the presence of celebrities and disasters, and has also inserted him into famous works of art. After an intense day in the painting studio, Swihart says that photoshopping the selfies are a way of “unwinding.” Escalante agrees: “For Jon, making one of these is like smoking a cigarette.”

Many of the images have the flavor of time travel, including one that Escalante particularly savors: “The one with Dali and Frida Kahlo is my favorite,” he explains, “I wish that had happened.”

2015-10-15-1444915589-9354915-daliescalantekahlo.jpg

The “selfies” series given Greg Escalante and his friends a lot of laughs: it’s a gag-gift that keeps on giving. In one offshoot of all this Escalante even has a new family that includes a baby boy — Mofo — born into the world with an Escalante hat and glasses. In subsequent images, Escalante’s new “family” even includes a possum and a coyote.

2015-10-15-1444919297-9725838-baby.jpg

For Jon Swihart, the whole project has been a lark, and also a reputation changer. When he attends art openings and people say “I’m a big fan of your work” it is often the Instagram selfies that they are talking about, not his paintings. At the Gregorio Escalante Gallery in Chinatown, where 40 of the selfies are now on display along with a selection of Swihart’s oils something remarkable is happening: viewers are breaking into uncontrolled laughter.

Greg Escalante, who hears the laughter in his upstairs office reflects that “There are very few shows that make people just laugh out loud. People are laughing like they are at a carnival, from one end of the show to the other.” Escalante is a very good sport — he doesn’t mind being the center of all these jokes — and in the process he has become the “Zelig” of Instagram, with time travel as his reward.

Robert Clergerie Readies Instagram Competition

POSTER GIRL: Robert Clergerie is kicking off an Instagram campaign to find its next “Clergerie Girl,” with its first user-generated contest. The French footwear brand has enlisted the help of The Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine to judge a digital contest in which fans can post pictures of their life accompanied by the hashtag #ClergerieGirls, depicting on-brand messaging.
Medine and house creative director Roland Mouret will choose four finalists at the end of October, who will face off in an Instagram competition to win a trip to Paris Fashion Week in March, a dinner hosted in their honor, and a visit to the Clergerie atelier in the south of France.
The finalists will be asked to style a shoot featuring Clergerie designs, the fruits of which will be posted to social media — where fans will select a winner along with input from Medine and Mouret.
Mouret said of the contest: “This is very aligned with Robert Clergerie as it has always been a brand for free, confident, audacious women.”

Selena Gomez Rules #NYFW: Tracking Twitter, Instagram By the Numbers

New York Fashion Week — or #NYFW, to be more specific — has a reach far beyond the more than 61,000 who shared content on Instagram or Twitter. According to numbers gathered by Pixlee, from Sept. 10 to 15, conversations using #NYFW and #NYFW15 had reached 6.6 billion people across Twitter and Instagram. Instagram posts with those hashtags garnered 37 million likes, and on Saturday alone, the conversation reached 2.1 million people. Of submitted photos, 78.4 percent were on Instagram and 21.6 percent were on Twitter. And the top engagement? That went to @selenagomez, posting about “feeling downtown chic” to Instagram from Polo Ralph Lauren. Even though she said “#imnotamodel #tryinsohard,” she obviously is doing something right; the post has 1,520,829 likes, and counting. (Fellow poster @brooklynbeckham also posted from the venue, but his likes were “only” in the hundreds of thousands.)

How One Man Gamed Instagram To Show Support For #FreeTheNipple

James Shamsi is on a mission to free the nipple on Instagram — or at least point out the social platform’s murky policies when it comes to “acceptable” nudity. Like many women (and a few good men) before him, Shamsi noticed the double standard applied to men and women’s nipples on Instagram. Namely, women’s nipples are censored, while men’s are not.

“I realized the absurdity in the over-sexualization of the female nipple,” Shamsi told The Huffington Post via email. “I wanted to show Instagram just how silly their own policies were by showing them how easily male nipples could be interpreted as female — and with the greater aim of highlighting the fact that the only real difference [between men’s and women’s nipples] are the weighting we choose to give to female nipples according to labels we arbitrarily assign to them as a society.”

To test out Instagram’s policies, Shamsi posted the below, cropped photograph of a man’s chest on Instagram.

Since the nipples look as though they could be those of a woman, he suspected that if reported, Instagram would remove the image. He even asked his Facebook friends to report the image so he could test his theory.

⛔⛔⛔ PLEASE REPORT ME (Insta: @jamesshamsi) ⛔⛔⛔I'm doing an experiment on my Instagram (@jamesshamsi).For those of you…

Posted by James Samir Shamsi on Tuesday, August 18, 2015

Unsurprisingly, it worked. Instagram removed the image for being in violation of its Community Guidelines a few hours after it was posted. Shamsi then contacted Instagram, alerting them that the chest they had censored was actually a man’s. Soon after, the post was reinstated. “Instagram reinstated the photo because these were male #facepalm,” Shamsi wrote in a subsequent Instagram post (below).

Shamsi’s nipple experiment follows a similar campaign first started by Associate Professor Micol Hebron in June 2014. She brilliantly suggested that women simply paste male nipples over their own scandalous lady ones. Problem solved!

TBT to that time, over a year ago (June 2014) that I posted an image of male nipple and told everyone to put it over…

Posted by Micol Hebron on Friday, July 3, 2015

Instagram seems to realize that creating guidelines for nudity is a seriously fraught process. In a statement to The Daily Dot regarding Shamsi’s photograph, an Instagram spokesperson said:

Standards around nudity vary greatly by culture, country, age, and other factors. Our goal has always been to find a balance between enabling people to express themselves, while also making sure that our large, diverse, global community feels comfortable. Striking the right balance is hard — and examples like this highlight the complexity of this issue. As always, we continue to analyze our policies to make sure that we’re listening to people and meeting the needs of our global community.

In January, Instagram told The Huffington Post that they “recognize that we don’t always get it right” when it comes to nudity on the platform. It looks like they are still grappling with where to draw the line.

Instagram 101: What Are “Feature” Accounts?

At INK361.com, we live and breathe Instagram. Often discovering great photography, niche communities, unique ideas and so much more. Some of these gems are found through delightful accidents, so in these upcoming posts, we will share with you some of what we love and know in hopes of encouraging more people to discover and explore to their hearts content.

Our first “Instagram 101″ post is about “Feature” accounts, so what are they exactly? Feature accounts are very simply a gallery dedicated to a specific topic, a community or promote great photography on Instagram. Most of the time, they are curated by passionate individuals that comb through hundreds of photos a day to find you the best of the best. The features are usually selected through submitting your own photos by tagging your post with the account’s dedicated hashtag. Even if your photos don’t get selected to be featured on the main account, by tagging your photos with those hashtags can still lead to new people discovering your photos and spark new friendships. These accounts foster an awesome sense of community.

However, these feature hashtags should only be used on relevant posts. When people tag photos that have nothing to do with the community, it makes the job for selecting features for the account managers much harder and breaks the integrity of the community you are trying to join.

Now that the basics are covered, here are some of our favourites:

1. @passionpassport – This account features some of the best travel photos from around the globe. They also regularly run photography competitions with prizes such as trips to unique destinations, photo prints and more. Photo by @petewilliams

The Interior Department’s Stunning Instagram Photos Will Help You Find Your Inner Explorer

It’s officially summer, season of beaches, iced coffee and, of course, the great outdoors.

The Department of the Interior has been chronicling the beauty of America’s public lands on its Instagram account. The photos, taken by parkgoers, department employees and sometimes even Interior Secretary Sally Jewell, feature stunning vistas and the more-than-occasional baby animal.

Americans have quite a few options when it comes to exploring the natural world. Nearly one-fifth of the landmass of the United States is protected land managed by the DOI. This includes more than 400 national park sites (find one near you here) overseen by the National Park Service, a division of the agency. The NPS is celebrating its centennial next year, and has been actively encouraging people to get out there and “Find Your Park.”

Below, take a look at some of the spectacular photos — baby animals included — that have been featured on the department’s account over the past few weeks. If you’ve taken a photo of America’s public lands, you can upload them here for a chance to have them featured on the DOI account. Follow along throughout the rest of the year @usinterior.

Kelly Osbourne Posts Photo Of Herself Dressed As Rachel Dolezal On Instagram

Plenty of celebrities have added their two cents to this whole Rachel Dolezal situation, but Kelly Osbourne’s response takes things to a whole new level.

The 30-year-old daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne posted a photo to her Instagram page on Thursday, in which she’s dressed to look like the former NAACP chapter president. She captioned the photo, “#CallMeRachel #MyCasualLook.”

In the photo, the former “Fashion Police” co-host is clearly emulating Dolezal; she’s dressed in a dark blazer and is wearing a curly brunette wig. All we’re thinking is, why?

Osbourne’s choice to post the pic seems a little off considering all the drama that went down after her former co-host Giuliana Rancic said Zendaya’s dreadlocks looked as if they smelled like “patchouli oil” or “weed.”

Following the controversy, Osbourne left the show, and just this past Wednesday, Melissa Rivers announced she’d be joining as co-host.

Kylie Jenner Defends Caitlyn Jenner After Chris Brown Posts Transphobic Instagram

While many celebrities have been vocal in their support of Caitlyn Jenner following her debut on Vanity Fair’s July cover, unfortunately, some have not. And Jenner’s daughter Kylie Jenner is not going to take the insults lying down.

After Chris Brown reposted a transphobic meme that referred to Caitlyn Jenner on his Instagram account Friday, the 17-year-old “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star reportedly commented on the post, writing, “Not very nice to say about your friends dad.” Brown’s post has since been deleted, but Kylie Jenner’s tweet Friday seemingly alludes to the incident:

Kylie Jenner and Chris Brown have been spotted hanging out together on various occasions. Jenner has shared photos of herself with Brown on her Instagram account, and the Jenner sisters participated in a charity kickball game with the “Forever” singer in July 2014.

The Huffington Post has reached out to Jenner and Brown’s reps for comment and will update this post if one comes through.
