Report: Lakers feel they got played in Kawhi Leonard pursuit

The Raptors reportedly felt Kawhi Leonard's advisor and uncle, Dennis Robertson, made unreasonable requests of them before Leonard signed with the Clippers. The Lakers, the other team that waited for and missed out on Leonard, also apparently has misgivings about the process. The implication: Leonard knew all along wasn't signing with the Lakers, waited a week into free agency so other top free agents would commit elsewhere then announced his decision just to sabotage the Lakers.

Analyzing the ‘Kawhi Effect’ on New Balance

Kawhi Leonard became a two-time NBA Champion and two-time NBA Finals MVP on Thursday after leading the Toronto Raptors to a Game 6 win over the Golden State Warriors. While Toronto’s new darling is soaking in the adoration from global basketball fans happy to see him return from injury and dethrone the champions, New Balance, his footwear partner, is also receiving more love.
“We’ve seen a significant uptick in conversation around New Balance and Kawhi Leonard since we first introduced our partnership,” said Patrick Cassidy, New Balance global director, consumer marketing.

Reports: Spurs want Celtics all-in for Kawhi Leonard trade talks, Boston slow playing it

The Spurs have come to grips with the fact they are going to have to trade Kawhi Leonard. Who the Spurs want to get deeply involved with is the Boston Celtics. Boston has the combination of good young players (Jaylen Brown, for example) and picks (Boston could have four first rounders in 2019) that interests the Spurs more than Brandon Ingram an anything the Lakers can push into the pot.

Kawhi Leonard Future: All-Star Forward Wants to Leave Spurs

Kawhi Leonard’s is reportedly determined to leave the San Antonio Spurs, as he feels his relationship with the team has been damaged beyond repair. Things between the 2014 NBA Finals MVP and the Spurs have been frosty since he reportedly told the team he was not comfortable playing while rehabbing from the quadriceps tendinopathy that forced him to miss the first 27 games of the season. Leonard made his season debut on December 12 against the Dallas Mavericks, but after playing nine of the following 17 games, on January 13 the Spurs opted to sideline him indefinitely—and he did not play another game during the season.
