PETA’s Launched Its Own Line of Faux-Leather Shoes


PETA‘s never been shy about letting the fashion world know it would prefer animal by-products like fur and leather not be used for clothing and accessories. Now it’s offering up an alternative of its very own, partnering with M4D3 on a line of vegan leather slip-on espadrilles.

“Creating cruelty-free footwear options that are just as stylish as they are kind to animals and the planet is a vision that M4D3 and PETA share,” M4D3 president Steve Reynolds said in a statement on PETA’s website. The shoes are a limited-edition creation and are currently available for preorder (they cost $ 60, but are currently reduced to a promotional rate of $ 50). Part of the proceeds will go to support PETA.
