Rodarte Teaming With Made for Capsule Collection, L.A. Party

Rodarte is throwing a summer party with the Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs on Aug. 1 in Los Angeles.
The Eighties-themed concert bash is being held in collaboration with Made and Mastercard to celebrate a new capsule collection of “Radarte” pieces incorporating artwork by Los Angeles-based painter Mari Eastman, which will be sold at L.A.’s Fred Segal beginning Aug. 2. The event is expected to draw 300 guests, including friends of Kate and Laura Mulleavy, models, celebrities and fashion notables from the Endeavor agency roster. (The designers are represented by the talent agency, which also owns Made.)
“We are so excited to make these T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring artwork by artist Mari Eastman. We are such fans of her body of work,” the Mulleavys said in a statement of the capsule, which will also incorporate blockchain technology developed by Mastercard.
“Mastercard is happy to be a part of this collaboration. We will address the 94 percent of supply chain leaders who think digital transformation will fundamentally change supply chains for the better with the unveiling of a technology that will help consumers explore the journey of the product and shop with confidence,” said a company statement from Mastercard.

The North Face, National Geographic Create Line Made From Plastic

The North Face is teaming with National Geographic on a limited-edition Bottle Source collection that will launch today on the brand’s e-commerce site.
The line of sweatshirts and T-shirts is created from single-use plastics found in streams in popular public spaces including Yosemite, the Great Smoky Mountains and Grand Teton National Parks. The collection is emblazoned with the words, “Waste Is Over,” which speaks to The North Face’s commitment to using plastics in alternative ways. It features both The North Face and National Geographic logos as well.
According to the company, more than 8 billion metric tons of plastic have been produced since 1950, and that number is projected to increase to 34 billion metric tons by 2050. As of 2015, only around 9 percent of plastic was estimated to have been recycled.
For every Bottle Source product The North Face manufacturers, it will donate $ 1 to the National Park Foundation to support sustainability projects and programs.
The prices for the collection range from $ 35 for a short-sleeve T-shirt to $ 60 for a hoodie.

Apex Legends’ Quitter Penalty Was Accidentally Made Live by Respawn

Apex Legends recently had a Quitter Penalty feature added to the game which would penalize those who left games early in succession, but it turns out this was not supposed to go live and Respawn has no “ETA for if or when this would come out for real.”

As reported by Game Informer, this feature was accidentally included in a recent patch and would give players a five-minute cooldown between matches if they were found to have quit mid-match for three or more times in a row.

This penalty would not apply to players who quit without a full squad or for those who have already been eliminated. The focus of this would be for those who are constantly quitting and leaving their teammates in a tough spot.

‘Made in France’ Brand Rue Begand Opens First Store

PARIS — One is in Troyes, a city in eastern France with a deep-rooted textile history. The other is located in the Haut Marais, a trendy shopping district in the center of Paris.
Rue Begand — the men’s fashion brand — has opened its first brick-and-mortar store on the Rue Charlot, after launching wholesale in January at L’Exception in France and United Arrows in Japan.
Doubling as the label’s headquarters, the shop sports a photo studio in its basement where the fall 2018 and spring 2019 collections were shot for the Rue Begand e-shop, set to launch in a couple of weeks.
Named after a street in Troyes that used to house a number of clothing workshops, the brand is a celebration of local savoir faire.
“Eighty percent of our clothes are made in Troyes,” said Rue Begand’s founder Samuel Granata, adding that the remaining part is manufactured in a nearby town, with a few of the more voluminous pieces being made in Tunisia.
Rue Begand works with L’Atelier d’Ariane, a historical clothing manufacturer based in Troyes run by Granata’s mother Véronique. “My family has had the atelier for over 20 years,” said the 25-year-old founder, who runs the brand with his brother Arthur. “I spent most of

NBA Free Agent Rumors: Julius Rande ‘made it clear’ he doesn’t want to return to Lakers

Julius Randle went in one season from a cap casualty to legitimately valuable role player. It seems that wasn’t to convince the Lakers to make him feel wanted, though, according to NBA.com’s David Aldridge. This would be quite the disappointing development in an offseason that’s already seen the Los Angeles Lakers miss out on Paul George. Here’s what Aldridge had to say about what he’s heard regarding talks between Randle and the Lakers: “Julius Randle has made it clear that I don’t think he really wants to be back there, so are you putting money into a guy that doesn’t really want to be back there.” If Randle were to leave, he would be the second client of Aaron Mintz (after Paul George) to

Hereditary: How Director Ari Aster Made a Movie that Doesn’t Feel Safe

SPOILERS: The following article discusses scenes and key events from Hereditary. You have been warned…

My favourite horror films are those that flirt with the fantastic. Movies that maintain a weird ambiguity around the reality of their central events. They all eventually table a simple question: is something genuinely supernatural happening here or is a plausible, rational explanation just out of sight?

The Turn of the Screw is the classic example of this effect. It’s entirely possible to read the novella believing the ghosts are real, preying upon young Miles and Flora, and it’s equally viable to interpret them as the delusions of the young governess employed to look after them. The same incidents can be consolidated in different ways, producing two competing interpretations. While The Turn of the Screw never really resolves this effect, most horror movies do.

McKayla Maroney Says ‘Messed Up’ Gymnastics Culture Made Her Rely on Abuser Larry Nassar for Food

As McKayla Maroney trained at the 2012 London Olympics, she says it was now-convicted child molester Larry Nassar who would sneak food to her when the strict coaches weren’t looking — and used the “messed up” gymnastics culture as a way to further manipulate.

“I think I would’ve starved at the Olympics if I didn’t have him bring me food,” Maroney, 22, told NBC News, in an excerpt of an interview that aired on Today Thursday morning, adding that she felt like she “needed” Nassar. “Your coaches are just always watching you. And wanting to keep you skinny. There’s just other things about the culture that are also messed up that he used against us.”

Maroney says the former USA Gymnastics doctor would “buy me a loaf of bread” in an effort to groom her and take advantage of the unhealthy conditions.

The former Olympian spoke to Savannah Guthrie in her first-ever television interview about the abuse for a Dateline special airing this Sunday evening. The special also features the first-ever TV interview with famed gymnastics coaches Bela and Martha Karolyi about the Nassar scandal. An excerpt of Maroney’s interview also aired on Today Wednesday morning.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

“He told me he was going to do a checkup on me, and that was the first day I was abused,” the Olympian said in the clip that aired Wednesday morning, alleging that Nassar molested her hundreds of times. “ every time I saw him.”

RELATED: Olympian McKayla Maroney Says Child Molester Larry Nassar Abused Her ‘Hundreds’ of Times

Officials with USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee have praised Maroney for her bravery. USA Gymnastics apologized to the athletes in a statement and said officials are “committed to doing everything we can to prevent this from happening again.”

Maroney initially revealed the alleged abuse in an October Twitter post, writing then that the abuse lasted until she left the sport.

“He said that nobody would understand this and the sacrifice that it takes to get to the Olympics, so you can’t tell people this,” Maroney recalled to NBC. “He didn’t say it in a way that was mean or anything like that.

“I actually was like, ‘That makes sense. I don’t want to tell anybody about this.’ And I didn’t believe that they would understand.”

Maroney isn’t the only athlete to open up about the conditions in the sport that enabled the child molester. In March, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman described the famous Karolyi Ranch as “disgusting” and told the Washington Post that there was a culture of fear at the world-famous training camp. Raisman has also filed suit against the USOC and USA Gymnastics, alleging that the organizations failed to implement safeguards at the Karolyi ranch, leaving the gymnasts vulnerable to abuse at Nassar’s hands.

“The shower smelled like eggs, and we would bring sandals to wear because it was so disgusting,” Raisman told the Post. “After you showered you were like, ‘I almost feel dirtier than before.’ ”

She added: “Nobody wanted to be the one who was difficult. Now that I’m away from the sport it makes me so angry that we were afraid to ask for soap.”

Earlier this year, the disgraced former gymnastics doctor received lengthy sentences in Michigan’s Eaton and Ingham counties for sexually abusing girls and women for several years. In both hearings, several victims read emotional impact statements to the court.

Nassar has been called “the most prolific child molester in history.”

More than 250 women and girls have accused Nassar of assault, including gymnasts Aly RaismanSimone BilesMcKayla Maroney and Gabby Douglas.

GTA 5 Has Made More Money Than Any Film, Book or Game, Says Analyst

Industry analyst Doug Creutz says Grand Theft Auto 5 has made money than any other form of media in history, with over 90 million units sold and $ 6 billion in revenue.

Creutz, managing director and senior research analyst covering the media and entertainment sector at Cowen, told MarketWatch that the game has made more than blockbuster movies like Star Wars, and Gone With The Wind, which both brought in around $ 3 billion in theaters when adjusted for inflation. Creutz estimates that even with home entertainment sales, which he puts in the ballpark of $ 1 billion, the films don’t come close to Rockstar’s 2013 title.

What to Watch: Blurring Fashion, Art and Commerce at Made Los Angeles

The fusion of fashion, art and commerce continues to be a winning formula. Made Los Angeles has seized on that.
The two-day event went for a second go in Los Angeles this past June with a decidedly strong focus on the intersection of hip-hop streetwear collaborations with collections flanked by performances from Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Yung Jake and A$ AP Ferg in conjunction with labels Rochambeau, 424, Joyrich and Pleasures.
The result was a sold out show two years in a row and a spokesperson for IMG, the event’s parent, confirmed Made LA will be back in 2018.
“We wanted to do something different….Technology, music, clothes and putting it all together in one, cohesive project is pretty dope,” Pleasures’ Alex Taylor said during a panel at Made LA this year. “I think people are taking notice of that.”
Made started off in New York as a way to offer free runway space and was acquired in 2015 by WME-IMG with a bid to expand the event’s reach beyond the fashion show.
The rise of L.A. food and fashion with an existing base of music seemed like the right formula for the Los Angeles iteration, according to IMG senior vice president and managing director Catherine Bennett.

Dress Made Out Of 10,000 Starburst Wrappers Has A Sweet Backstory

Starburst is a polarizing candy as far as flavor preferences go.

But allow us to set aside our differences for one glorious moment to bask in this this magnificent labor of love: A dress made out of 10,000 Starburst wrappers.

Emily Seilhamer describes herself on her Facebook page as an artist whose “passions are painting, upcycling, sewing, and crafting.” But after the four years, according to Mashable, she spent collecting, sorting, ironing and stringing together thousands of wrappers, we’d say she’s also a master in patience too.

Seilhamer is more than just a devoted member of team pink (or red, or yellow). The beloved candy holds a special meaning to the artist and her husband.

“My husband and I met when he offered me a pack of Starburst a few years before the project started,” she wrote on the caption of the dress photo album. “As his favorite candy he began to save grocery bags full of wrappers for me… The dress had a nice spot next to the gift table at our wedding almost 2 years ago!”

Seilhamer used underwear elastic in matching shades as the wrappers to seal the edges and make a zipper. To make things even more impressive, she revealed in a comment on her Facebook page that she has “never used a pattern or learned how to make garments,” adding, “been teaching myself as I go!”

Color us all the Starburst flavors in the world impressed.

Made for L.A.: Billy Reid Sets Up Shop at Magasin

Billy Reid will plant a flag — albeit temporary — on the West Coast today. The Alabama designer is set to kick off his monthlong pop-up shop at friend Josh Peskowitz’s Magasin concept shop in Culver City, Calif., with a made-to-measure event running through the weekend.
“We think it’s a good opportunity for them to showcase more of who they are in Los Angeles,” Peskowitz said. “It’s a nice, organic partnership certainly and I have an enormous amount of respect for him.”
The temporary installment will carry exclusives including hand-painted graphic shirts and an assortment of tailored pieces, such as shorts made from selvage chambray. This weekend, clients of the brand can come into the store for custom orders, which have about a four- to six-week turnaround.
The designer, while having done trunk shows and special installations within his own stores, has never offered the made-to-measure experience outside of those and Reid said the success of what happens at Magasin will no doubt be weighed for the possibility of doing similar events going forward.
“We do not have a shop out here on the West Coast, but we have several customers out here,” Reid said. “I think once we go through it and figure out

Lyft made these goofy wearables as a prank but they're actually kind of cool

Lyft made these goofy wearables as a prank but they're actually kind of coolWould you believe it if Lyft rolled out an actual, physical product to hail a ride? A one-use wearable, giving you streamlined access to all the service's cars at the lyft (lolz) of your thumb? You shouldn't believe it — well, not completely. The ride-hailing app is currently shilling Mono, a wearable with some legitimately cool specs: it has BLE tech to pair with your phone, a micro-controller synched with the Lyft API that reads gyroscope and accelerometer data to request rides, and motion-triggered LED confirmation indicators to let you know your trip status without having to check your phone.   Just stick your thumb in the air wearing the Mono, Lyft claims, and you'll soon be ferried on your way.  SEE ALSO: Lyft just came out with its biggest innovation yet: buses But you'll (probably) never see someone rocking a Mono to get a ride home after a night out on the town — it's April Fools' Day season again, and the wearable is Lyft's idea of a viral prank, designed to confound the internet and get us all buzzing. The only problem is, Lyft didn't just make a joke prototype for a one-off photoshoot — the company went all the way in, creating actual working Mono devices.  Sure, we have all the hallmarks of a viral prank campaign — a slightly ridiculous concept that's
just believable enough, especially with the hyped-up videos and web presence to back it up. But bringing Mono to life makes it less a prank and more a one-off promotion, like Pizza Hut's pie-ordering sneakers for March Madness.  We're giving away 5 Monos! Post a photo of the Mono on Twitter/Instagram tagging @lyft, #GetMono, and #Sweepstakes. https://t.co/O58NUdhPSh pic.twitter.com/jb4ZjqYaIY — Lyft (@lyft) March 30, 2017 It's almost like Snapchat Spectacles on a small scale: a wearable created to give users a physical extension of an experience typically tethered to smartphones. Mono's little more than a novelty item — obviously, no one's
really gonna walk around with their thumb in the air more than once or twice for kicks — but it is kinda cool looking and, dare I say it, fun.  That's what April Fool's is all about, right? We'll cut Lyft some slack here for the full-out effort even with the botched delivery — just as long as they don't immediately start bragging about how #woke hailing a car with your thumb can be.  WATCH: I tried a self-driving car in London and lived to tell the tale

Busy Philipps Says She Made More Money Doing Instagram Ads Than Acting Last Year

Busy Philipps is getting honest about her money.

The 37-year-old actress opened up about her income in a Thursday Instagram Story, revealing that she made more money last year doing sponsored ads on the social media site than through acting.

After someone said that they liked Philipps’ Instagram because she wasn’t always posting #spon like some other celebrities, the actress revealed that she “wasn’t above it” and had done sponsored content in the past — but only for brands she actually liked.

“I gotta be honest with you, I didn’t make a ton of money as an actor last year,” Philipps said. “I made more money doing that kind of stuff, like the partnerships with brands.”

It is common for celebrities to promote brands on the photo-sharing site. Stars like Khloé Kardashian, Lea Michele, Bella Hadid and more have gotten in on the action.

“I’m not above it, guys,” Philipps said in the clip. “I just only choose things that I genuinely like and, like, would want to partner with, like, for instance, my Michaels partnership, which, you know, is my favorite thing of all time. And I’m doing one next week, I think, that feels like me.”

Busy Philipps Describes Her ‘Freaking Creepy’ Uber Scare

The mother-of-two‘s Instagram account has several posts promoting the arts and crafts retail chain along with Campbell’s Soup and more.

However, she noted in the video that she likely wouldn’t promote a product that she deemed “random and weird” — “Unless it was, like, a billion dollars.”

“I’m gonna sell things,” she continued. “That’s my only point.”

Philipps currently plays Gale Liptrapp in HBO’s Vice Principals and last year made appearances on New Girl and Angie Tribeca.

Ina Garten On Being Childfree: ‘It’s A Choice And That Was The Choice I Made’

Ina Garten’s life is a delicious one ― and as the “Barefoot Contessa” and cookbook queen, she never felt like she needed to have kids for it to be that way.

In a visit with Katie Couric for Couric’s podcast on Thursday, Garten opened up about her decision not to have children with her husband Jeffrey.

“We decided not to have children,” she told Couric. “I really appreciate that other people do, and we will always have friends that have children that we are close to, but it was a choice I made very early. I really felt ― I feel ― that I would have never been able to have the life I’ve had. So it’s a choice and that was the choice I made.”

Never change, Ina.

SHOPPING NEWS UPDATE:

We’re One Step Closer To Wearing Clothing Made From Poop

Man, you’re never going to believe what may soon be used to make clothes.

It’s a fabric made from cow poop.

On April 6, the H&M Foundation tapped five fashion innovators for its Global Change Award, a roughly $ 1.06 million prize celebrating sustainability through “game-changing ideas that can help reinvent the entire industry.”

One of those winners, Dutch artist and entrepreneur Jalila Essaidi, makes a textile jokingly referred to as “manure couture.” And yes, it’s exactly what you think it is.

Essaidi’s revolutionary fabric, Mestic, is made from the cellulose found in the dry components of cow manure. The wet materials in cow manure also contain acids necessary “to transform the cellulose into a new material,” she explained in a 2016 interview, meaning there’s even less waste of waste.

Essaidi explains on her website that the fabric serves as a way to reduce phosphate and nitrogen, two chemicals found in manure that harm the environment and, as of 2016, were in surplus in The Netherlands.

Refinery29 reports that the material itself does not smell like poop, and garments shown in a 2016 fashion show using Mestic really do look luxurious and wearable.

Essaidi is also the creator of Bulletproof Skin, “a project that achieved bioengineered bulletproof human skin reinforced with synthetic spider silk.”

In other words, she’s a total badass.

The prize money was awarded to “speed up the shift to a circular waste-free fashion industry,” according to a press release, and winners will participate in a year-long innovation accelerator to help them develop their ideas or products and connect them within the fashion industry.

While it remains to be seen how close to market Mestic will be after the year-long accelerator program, Essaidi’s intentions are clear. “I just want people to give a shit about the planet,” she said at the award ceremony in Stockholm Thursday.

While Mestic isn’t guaranteed to be sold at H&M or the company’s other retail businesses, a spokesperson told The Huffington Post that the point of the project is “to spur ideas that could have the potential to create a more sustainable fashion future,” adding, “Hopefully, they will be able to have an impact on the fashion industry as a whole.”

The future of fashion looks crappy, and we’re all for it.

Malaysian Censor Wanted Four Minutes of Cuts to ‘Beauty,’ Says Bill Condon Made Problem Worse

Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid, head of Malaysia’s Film Censorship Board, says he sought over four minutes of material to be cut from “Beauty And The Beast.” That is far more than the three second “gay moment” that has flustered regulators in some other countries. When Disney refused the film was withdrawn without being released in… Read more »

We Found Tinder Jesus And He’s Not The Player He’s Made Out To Be

A man known only as “Tinder Jesus” has a message he wants to deliver to the world: he’s no prayer player.

“I’ve gone out with five women [since joining Tinder about a month ago],” he told The Huffington Post. “They expected me to be a player, but I’m not. I’d like to find the right woman, but I’m casting a wide net.”

Tinder Jesus has become the lord of the internet thanks to a hilarious profile pic that shows him, among other things, turning water into wine.

His story went viral when Twitter users began sharing their direct messages with him.

As you might suspect, Tinder Jesus is not the actually the one who appears in the New Testament. It’s the pseudonym of a 21-year-old college student in Lafayette, Louisiana. (He asked that HuffPost not publish his real name so as not to ruin the joke.)

“Everyone has been telling me I look like Jesus, so it was natural,” Tinder Jesus said. “At first, I was getting a match every five swipes, but now it’s every other swipe.”

And each one of his five dates had a request: “Every one of them specifically asked me not to dress up as Jesus. I would if someone wanted it.”

Tinder Jesus describes himself as “very Catholic” and admits he had a crisis of faith over whether he should be using his resemblance to the King of Kings in order to hook up with a hottie.

“I questioned it a little bit, but it’s not meant to be insensitive,” he said. “I never claimed to be Jesus.”

Tinder Jesus also says he doesn’t have a type.

“Jesus loves everybody,” he said. “But I’d like someone who is good at philosophical conversations. My best date was with a woman who was throwing puns back at me in character. That was the highlight.”

He’s still getting used to the fame he’s earned from his photos and isn’t sure what the future holds. He’s trying to keep a clear head out of respect to his family.

“Mom’s not too happy,” Tinder Jesus said. “I mean, she’s afraid I’ll get hurt.”

That’s probably how Mary felt.

This Bride-To-Be Made A Wedding Dress Out Of 200 Taco Bell Wrappers

One bride-to-be is taking her love for Taco Bell to the extreme.

Diane Nguyen is going viral after creating a wedding dress from 200 (new, not used) Taco Bell wrappers. The delicious stunt is for Taco Bell’s new “Love and Tacos” contest, which will send one lucky couple ―hopefully Nguyen and her fiancé, Nick Ward ― to get married at a Taco Bell in Vegas.

“It’s time to spill the beans. We have been engaged for 4 years, and together for 10,” Nguyen wrote in an Instagram post for the contest. “Taco Bell has been there through the years, from the after school runs, to late meals after work (or a night of partying). Our love for each other is as cheesy as a quesadilla.”

She added, “We’re nachos getting married, it’s going to be a Las Vegas tacover. Lettuce celebrate our love at the Taco Bell Chapel in Vegas, cuz we are ready to guac and roll.”

Nguyen told The Huffington Post via email that the gown was inspired by the likes of “Project Runway,” “Ru Paul’s Drag Race”  and “Face Off.” It took roughly five to six hours to make. Her fiance’s sister, Patra, also helped create the dress, as did a kind Taco Bell manager.

A very nice manager donated 400 wrappers to us in exchange for a combo meal purchase,” she said. “We already had the other materials (hot glue, an old corset, and a white sheet) on hand, so it cost around $ 10!”

Nguyen said that she and Ward became friends in high school, though they only started dating at the end of college.

“When the time was right, I asked him out and we are still tormenting each other ten years later!” she said. “We’re always goofing around and love to incorporate our friends into our shenanigans.”

#relationshipgoals achieved.

A post shared by Diane Nguyen (@dianesaurusrex) on

Though the two didn’t originally set out to get married in a Taco Bell, it’s now become their mission to win the contest and make it happen. But even if they don’t win, they have their whole lives ahead of them, probably filled with tons of fun shenanigans and Taco Bell runs.

“It’s been a fun ride and we’re both excited to see where life takes us,” Nguyen said. “Crappy high-five partners for life.”

If you’d like to vote for the “nacho average couple” in the Taco Bell contest, head here. Voting ends on March 5.

Steve From ‘Blue’s Clues’ Made A Song For Kids About Pooping In The Toilet

We just figured out poo’s clues.

Late last year, The Huffington Post caught up with former “Blue’s Clues” host Steve Burns about his and friend Steven Drozd’s kids album, “Foreverywhere.”

Well, now it’s finally out along with a new video for the potty training anthem, “OK Toilet Bowl.”

And … this. Is. The. Poop.

Burns previously told us that after talking with child development specialists, he learned that defecating in the toilet was a big issue for kids.

“This is a song … about courage,” Burns said.

Good thing for kids (and adults), Steve from “Blue’s Clues” is like Ex-Lax for fears.

“I am no longer afraid. I’m proud of the poop that I made,” sings Burns.

Sit back and relax as Steve drops some sweet knowledge while teaching us all how to drop a deuce.

Like, did you know eating beets can turn your poo red? You can’t beet that. At one point, there’s even a poo haiku involving toilet paper that’ll make you go, “Aw, sheet!”

We’d call this video No. 1. But it’s more like No. 2. (Because, you know … poop.) Either way, the new song teaches us if Blue can poo, we can, too.

Foreverywhere” is out now.

Bill Maher Just Made A Very Serious Point About The Trump Administration ‘Circus’

Bill Maher warned people not to get distracted by the circus surrounding President Donald Trump’s administration on Friday.

The “Real Time” host admitted it was “fun to watch the wheels come off the Trump car” — using the president’s 77-minute “brain fart” of a news conference the previous day as an example. But it was only amusing “until we remember we’re riding in the back,” said Maher. “Then it’s not so fucking fun any more.”

Maher described the touting of Sarah Palin, the 2008 vice presidential candidate and former Alaska governor, as ambassador to Canada as merely one of several distraction tactics.

“While you’re watching the clown screw the pony, they’re breaking into your car,” said Maher.

As examples of the things people are being distracted away from, he cited the confirmation of the Environmental Protection Agency’s longtime adversary Scott Pruitt as its new chief and Michael Flynn’s resignation as national security adviser amid allegations he discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia with the Russian ambassador in the weeks before Trump took office.

SHOPPING NEWS UPDATE:

Overwatch’s Capture the Flag Is Made A Permanent Mode

Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has announced that Capture the Flag will remain a playable part of Overwatch, with nine more maps being added to the roster – but there’s a caveat.

Capture the Flag was introduced during the Year of the Rooster event, which celebrates Chinese New Year. Previous modes introduced for timed festivities have included Lucioball and Mei’s Snowball offensive, both of which were made unavailable once their associated events ended.

However, Kaplan confirmed in a developer update that the decision to make Capture the Flag a permanent fixture of Overwatch will spark a few changes. The mode will only be available as a custom game (not Quick Play or Ranked), so in conjunction with this news Blizzard is introducing the server browser.

This Stunning H&M Gown Is Made From Plastic Waste

H&M’s relationship with the environment is definitely complicated. But its newest Conscious Exclusive collection, fronted by model Natalia Vodianova, may be its best attempt at sustainability yet.

The retailer revealed Tuesday that the new Conscious collection is made in part using Bionic, “a recycled polyester made from plastic shoreline waste.”

Included in the mix is this gorgeous, intricately detailed pink pleated gown, which will retail for $ 249.

Bionic has previously been used by major retailers, like G-Star and Adidas, who are committed to creating a more sustainable industry. But thanks to H&M, we now see the fabric in an entirely new, red carpet-worthy light.

“This year’s Conscious Exclusive is a chance to dream and create pieces that are both quirky and beautiful,” said Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s creative director and head of design, in a statement. “It’s great to be able to show just what is possible with sustainable materials.”

The brand also revealed that 20 percent of its offerings are now made from more sustainable materials and the company aims to increase this number each year.

We’ll twirl in a beautiful gown to that! The new Conscious Exclusive collection will hit stores and HM.com on April 20.
