Meghan Markle’s Maternity Style: A Study of the Duchess of Sussex’s Pregnancy Fashion

Since announcing her pregnancy in October, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has parlayed her new royal style into regal maternity style. From royal tours in Australia and Fiji — and most recently Morocco — the Duchess has evolved her look wearing both American and Canadian designers, as well as British fashion brands throughout her pregnancy.
Kicking off her pregnancy with a tour of Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Tonga with Prince Harry in November 2018, the world — not to mention social media, which has birthed a slew of fan accounts dedicated to all-things Meghan style — tuned in to see how the Duchess of Sussex would dress her burgeoning baby bump. The world tour saw Markle opting for classic pieces, like a Martin Grant beige trenchcoat and knee-length A-line dresses from brands like Club Monaco, Karen Gee and Brandon Maxwell.

Markle has stayed on the simpler side when it comes to her style, choosing pattern-less frocks primarily in neutrals and blue tones. The Duchess has experimented with more subdued prints, like a green and white striped Martin Grant dress in Australia and a red and purple

Meghan Markle’s New Charity Cookbook Is Already a Bestseller

The cookbook backed by Meghan Markle is off to a sizzling start!

Together: Our Community Cookbook has sold nearly 11,000 copies in the U.K. alone in its first week and is at the top of the nonfiction charts, according to the official list compiled by The Bookseller. It is number six on the Amazon charts of all books in the U.S. too.

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, launched the cookbook along with the women who created the recipes at a special Kensington Palace party last week.

In a surprise move, her proud mother, Doria Ragland, joined her, along with husband Prince Harry — who enjoyed quietly sampling some of the nibbles on offer.

Meghan wrote the foreword for the book, which features recipes from women whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower fire in which more than 70 people died last year.

The women set up the Hubb Community Kitchenin response to the tragedy, and Meghan was inspired to help them after visiting in January. She suggested they create the book and, with the Royal Foundation, helped them find a publisher to raise money in order to keep the kitchen open for longer.

Thanking those who had helped with the book, Meghan said at the launch last week, “This is more than a cookbook, and what I mean by that is, the power of food is more than just the meal itself. It is the story behind it.”

“And when you get to know the story of the recipe, you get to know the person behind it. And that’s what we’re talking about in terms of coming together, to really engage and talk, and to be able to celebrate what connects us rather than what divides us.”

Meghan Markle’s Givenchy Wedding Dress to Be Displayed at Windsor Castle

ROYAL FROCKS: Earlier in May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made royal and fashion history. The Royal Collection, which houses the largest collection of noble artifacts, will launch a special exhibition titled “A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex” later this year where the couple’s wedding outfits will be on display.
The exhibition will be part of the Windsor Castle tour from Oct. 2018 to Jan. 2019. The outfits will then be displayed at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh from June to Oct. 2019.
The highlight on display will be the Givenchy Haute Couture dress Markle chose for her big day, created by British designer Clare Waight Keller. Cut with a bateau neckline, the minimalist, fuss-free design was made from an exclusive, double-bonded silk cady, developed by Waight Keller, and features a triple silk organza underskirt.
Markle’s silk tulle veil is hand-embroidered with floral embellishments that represent each of the Commonwealth countries — a reference to her and Prince Harry’s dedication to their new roles. The team of embroiderers spent over hundreds of hours crafting the veil, washing their hands every 30 minutes to keep the tulle and silk threads in pristine condition.
Two of the Duchess’ favorite flowers, the Wintersweet and the California Poppy, were

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Official Wedding Portraits Were Just Released!

Picture perfect!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating the end of their royal wedding weekend with the release of their official wedding portraits on Monday.

Taken in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle after the royal couple’s magical carriage procession, the portraits were shot by fashion photographer, Alexi Lubomirski, who took the couple’s dreamy engagement photos at Frogmore House in Windsor late last year.

The first photo is an epic gathering of the entire royal family (minus 4-week-old Prince Louis, who stayed home at the palace!), the little bridal party and Meghan’s proud mother, Doria Ragland.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would like to thank everyone who took part in the celebrations of their wedding on Saturday. They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and also all those who watched the wedding on television across the U.K., Commonwealth, and around the world,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said.

“Their Royal Highnesses are delighted with these official portraits taken by Alexi Lubomirski and are happy to be able to share them today. They would also like to say thank you for all of the generous messages of support they have received.”

Also featured in the photo set is a picture of just Harry and Meghan with their adorable page boys and bridesmaids. Led by the couple’s niece and nephew, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the eight other children include several of Harry and Meghan’s godchildren and children of their friends: Florence van Cutsem, 3; Remi Litt, 6 and her sister Rylan, 7; Ivy Mulroney, 4; Zalie Warren, 2; Jasper Dyer, 6; and twins Brian and John Mulroney, 7.

The bride and groom themselves posed for a romantic black-and-white photo featuring just the two of them. Taken just moments after they tied the knot, the love and happiness they felt on the day is evident on their smiling faces.

“It has been an incredible honor and privilege to document The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s inspiring journey of love, hope and family; from the engagement photos, all the way through to the official wedding and family portraits on Saturday,” Lubomirski said in a statement. “This has been a beautiful chapter in my career and life, that I will happily never forget.”

At the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the official portraits of the couple and the bridal party were taken by Hugo Burnand. Burnand was also on hand to shoot the official pictures for the wedding of Prince Charles to Camilla Parker-Bowles six years earlier.

EXCLUSIVE: Stella McCartney’s Sketch for Meghan Markle’s Wedding Reception

PLAY IT AGAIN, STELLA: The Duchess of Sussex — her family and wedding guests — just couldn’t get enough of Stella McCartney this weekend. Although McCartney wasn’t the official dresser for Saturday’s nuptials, she certainly came close, creating outfits for the day under her Bespoke label.
After changing out of her white Givenchy Haute Couture gown, Meghan Markle moved onto Stella McCartney for the evening reception, by all accounts a lively affair during which the bride broke with tradition and made a speech.

She wore a sleeveless white silk crepe gown with a high collar, and bare shoulders, pairing the dress with Aquazzura satin shoes that had baby blue soles. The clean lines and silk fabric of McCartney’s dress echoed the minimal, unembellished dress she wore for her walk down the aisle.
“I am so proud and honored to have been chosen by the Duchess of Sussex to make her evening gown and represent British design,” said McCartney. “It has truly been one of the most humbling moments of my career and I am so proud of all the team on this stunning sunny royal day.”

Stella McCartney shared exclusively with WWD the sketch she made for Meghan Markle’s evening

Meghan Markle’s Facialist Shares Her Very Unusual Secret

The beauty countdown to the royal wedding is on!

And when it comes to Meghan Markle’s skincare routine, there’s only one facialist on speed dial in preparation for the big day: Scottish-born, London-based Nichola Joss.

Meghan has cited the anti-aging guru as being one of her “favorite aestheticians” and credits Joss and her signature “inner facials” for sculpting and refining her cheeks and jawline.

The $ 350 treatment — which counts Meghan, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Moss as fans —targets sagging facial muscles through deep lymphatic massage, including the unusual technique of massaging from inside the mouth.

“It allows the muscle to be healthier and more youthful,” Joss tells PEOPLE from her London salon in Covent Garden. “It adds vitality to the muscle. It makes it softer but stronger, and obviously working from the inside of the mouth really addresses the core element of the muscle.”

As for the facials being credited by Meghan as helping to sculpt her face, Joss demurs: “I don’t know about that, because she has a fantastic face shape and she obviously looks after herself very well.” Having worked with Markle for the past five years (she has pop-ups in New York, Toronto and L.A during awards season), Joss adds, “Clearly, she eats well, she does exercise, meditation and yoga and all those factors help.”

Can’t make it to one of her salons? Joss teaches all of her clients how to replicate the experience at home with a series of facial massages. “ has spoken in the past about how much she loves the fact that it’s about facial massage and encouraging exercising the face as well,” says Joss.

In a blog for Birchbox in 2014, Meghan raved about the massage techniques. “I do facial exercises taught to me by one of my favorite aestheticians, Nicola Joss, who basically has you sculpt your face from the inside out. I swear it works, as silly as you may feel. On the days I do it, my cheekbones and jawline are waaaay more sculpted.”

While an appointment with Joss may be physically impossible for most, the celebrity beauty therapist says that anyone can look after their skin with just a little know-how. “Take daily probiotics so you are working on your skin from the inside and follow my massage technique every morning and evening,” she says. “I love Decleor Aromessence Lavandula Iris facial oil serum. Rub a few drops into the palms of your hand and inhale the scent, then start to work from the center of your face outwards and upwards. You can really be creative and play.”

Prince Harry Puts a Ring on Meghan Markle’s Finger

LONDON – Prince Harry has just put a new spin on The Special Relationship between the U.K. and the U.S., asking Meghan Markle, his American girlfriend of more than a year, to marry him.
Clarence House confirmed early Monday that Prince Harry is to marry Markle, putting an end to months of speculation. Markle, who was married and later divorced, is an actress best known for playing Rachel Zane in the legal drama series “Suits.”
The statement said the couple became engaged earlier this month and the wedding will take place in the spring of next year. They will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. Clarence House said more details will be announced in due course.

All the Details on Meghan Markle’s Engagement Outfit — And How to Buy It!

Meghan Markle looked every inch a princess when she and Prince Harry made their official debut as an engaged couple at Kensington Palace on Monday.

The couple appeared outside the palace in the Sunken Garden. To brave the chilly temperatures, Markle wore a white wrap coat from Line the Label, a Toronto-based designer — a fitting choice, as the city had been Markle’s adopted hometown until very recently when she wrapped filming her final season of Suits in the Canadian city. The luxe coat is a current piece from their Fall 2017 collection.

It has been an exciting morning for the designer, too: Line the Label’s website crashed minutes after the designer details of Markle’s coat were made public. Until their website is up and running again, you can find similar styles available from Ted Baker for $ 575 and Cole Haan for $ 170.

Though we didn’t get much of a glimpse beyond the hem of what Markle had on beneath the coat, the dress she wore is designed by P.A.R.O.S.H, a brand based in Milan. Royal watchers believe it is this deep green dress, which features a bow detail at the waist. And for those of you that like the style, it’s currently on sale!

Markle accessorized her look with a pair of nude suede heels with a tie around the ankle from another Italian designer, Aquazzura. They’re the Matilde Crisscross Suede 105mm Pump, and they’re currently on sale at Neiman Marcus.

She also proudly wore her new engagement ring, a creation that was custom-designed by Harry with stones from Princess Diana’s personal collection, as well as a diamond from Botswana, a country the couple traveled to together earlier this year.

As the couple posed for photos outside the palace, they answered a few questions, including when Harry knew Markle was the one for him.

“The very first time we met,” he said.
