Revving Up for London Fashion Week With Dilara Findikoglu, Michael Halpern and Richard Quinn

LONDON — Designers Dilara Findikoglu, Michael Halpern and Richard Quinn are some of the most colorful, best-known names on the London Fashion Week schedule, even though their labels are still young. Known for his colorful prints, big volumes and dramatic runway shows, Quinn is looking to up the ante this season, adding texture to his clothes by turning prints into embroideries and making his silhouettes even more dramatic. “The show is as important as the set, the music, the choreography. We like having emotion in our shows and actually wanting people to feel something, so hopefully [this season] will have the same effect,” said Quinn. He’s also putting a focus on creating more couture-like garments that can withstand the test of time. “I’m hopefully turning [my] prints into really extra extravagant and almost archive-like pieces,” he said. Halpern, too, has been getting experimental with his designs. While he’s known for being a sequin-studded brand, the designer has been introducing new materials to create the same high-shine sequined and glamorous effect. “It’s been interesting for me to see how to translate that magpie mentality that we have here into something that’s not solely sequins,” said Halpern. He’s been weaving, draping and pleating with lamé to create movement

Michael Kors Leans Into Chinese Valentine’s Day With New Ambassadors

It’s a tough act to follow a megastar like Yang Mi, the face of last year’s Michael Kors Chinese Valentine’s Day campaign. So for this year’s occasion, the brand tried a different tack — tapping not one but two famous faces: Gen Z actors Leo Wu and Lareina Song.
It’s not the only thing about the campaign the brand has expanded. While last year was the first time Michael Kors produced a special capsule collection for the occasion — consisting of two purses — this year’s collection has grown to 30 items.
With a campaign shot by photographer Kai Z. Feng, the collection features graffiti scribbles on products spanning ready-to-wear, small leather goods, footwear and jewelry.

Qixi falls on Aug. 7 but in the lead up to that, Michael Kors will be throwing an event at its Chengdu Taikoo Li store on July 26 with the two stars.
Wu, who is in the middle of shooting “Cross Fire,” said he will likely spend actual Qixi working but shared there were plenty sweet moments to savor in life regardless.
“My fans really did many romantic things for me,” Wu said. “For example, on my birthdays, they would record videos consisted of all the work I did

EXCLUSIVE: The Whitney Museum to Honor Michael Bloomberg at Gala and Studio Party

The Whitney Museum of American Art will honor Michael Bloomberg during its annual Gala and Studio Party on April 9.
The centrist politician, who two weeks ago revealed he would not be running for president in 2020, is “a great friend to the Whitney,” according to the museum’s Alice Pratt Brown director Adam D. Weinberg. Bloomberg’s honor stems from his philanthropic work and support for artists and cultural organizations; under his administration spanning 11 years, the founder of Bloomberg LP backed 500 public art projects.
There’s more cause for celebration, though: the gala, which this year will be sponsored by Michael Kors and Audi, marks the four-year anniversary of the museum’s move downtown to the Meatpacking District. Plus folks will be able to celebrate — or perhaps more accurately, mourn — the closing of the oft-Instagrammed exhibit “Andy Warhol — From A to B and Back Again.”
For Kors’ part, he said he’s looking forward to checking out the next thing the museum has to offer.
“I love the building and the fact that there’s always something new and provocative to see,” he said. “Having the Whitney in my backyard is a dream.”

Hanes Celebrating Michael Jordan With Trading Card Promotion

Hanes is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its partnership with Michael Jordan by putting special trading cards into 800,000 packages of its Comfort Flex Fit boxer briefs.
And 10 of those packs will actually be signed by the basketball legend.
Jordan and Hanes first teamed up in 1989 when the athlete scored his 10,000th point and hit “The Shot” at the buzzer in game five of the NBA playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers to give his Chicago Bulls the win.
“Michael has always had his pick of brands to endorse, and we are incredibly honored that he has chosen to stay with ours for the past three decades,” said Sidney Falken, chief branding officer of Hanesbrands. “This is one of the longest-running and most successful partnerships of its type to date — a powerful statement about Michael and Hanes.”
A total of 170 different Fleer trading cards have been produced by The Upper Deck Company, each with a photo of Jordan from one of his Hanes advertisements. They are packaged in five-card packs.
“Through the years, we’ve certainly benefited from Michael’s enduring popularity with such a wide audience,” Falken added. “MJ continues to be one of the most recognizable people in the world, and we’re thrilled

Bridget Foley’s Diary: Michael and Bella on the Campaign Trail

Bella Hadid grimaces in disbelief under her hair curlers. “I think there’s a lot of things that are more important than Instagram in the world,” she says.
She so proclaims from a makeup chair in a Pier 59 photo studio in Manhattan, in response to an anecdote that Michael Kors has just told. He recalled that for some project or other, he had asked Gigi Hadid what she considered the greatest invention of all time, and she answered, “Instagram.”
In deference to Bella’s incredulity, Kors quickly amends his recollection. “OK, it wasn’t the greatest invention of all time. It was the greatest [tech] gadget or something like that.”
Bella exhales with faux relief. “I almost lost a little faith in my sister,” she says. “I was like, out of all things?”
Such is how a chat with Kors typically swerves, even when the pre-set topic is a current project. He is a nonlinear conversationalist, likely to wend through topics as far-flung as his latest vacation, politics and a favorite “Bewitched” episode.
As booked, this interview was to focus on the spring Michael Michael Kors campaign and the related two-day immersive experience at the Dolby SoHo space in New York on Feb. 5 for an industry event, and on Feb. 6, when

Kate Beckinsale Celebrates 45th Birthday with Ex Michael Sheen and a Hilarious Goat Yoga Session

Kate Beckinsale marked her 45th year surrounded by goats and her ex.

The Love & Friendship star celebrated her birthday on Thursday, yet added an extra day of festivities on Friday when she tried yoga with goats alongside her daughter Lily and ex Michael Sheen.

The actress shared videos and photos of the experience on her Instagram account in which she documented the hilarity that ensued.

“Best birthday ever. We all prayed that the goat’s blessings would happen on Michael’s mat and they did,” Beckinsale wrote in the caption. “Thank you #laughingfrogyoga and #hellocrittercare for such a fun day and also to Billy and Burlap, for knowing instinctively where to friendly fire ❤❤❤.”

In the gallery of photos Beckinsale shared, Sheen can be seen practicing a downward dog pose while a goat stands on his back.

Lily also had a goat stand directly on her back in a similar photo as the one of her mother shared of herself.

Not only did the actress enjoy yoga with goats, she also shared a birthday kiss with one as well, as she placed a snack in her mouth and allowed the goat to eat it from her lips in a video.

“Birthday kisses 💋💋💋💋💋💋💋,” Beckinsale wrote in the caption.

Not to be outdone by some farmyard animals, Lily showed her love for her mother in a cake depicting her mother as “Katy B” — an image taken from Cardi B’s debut album cover for Invasion of Privacy.

“Help me my kid’s amazing @lily_sheen @cakeandart #katyb,” the proud mother wrote.

Beckinsale is a die-hard lover of animals and never fails to share her delight in them. The mother of one shared a photo of her cat Clive wearing a dinosaur outfit in December.

“Clive woke up in beast mode,” she wrote in the caption of the photo in which Clive sat still in a cute dinosaur costume.

While the animal showed a bit of attitude with her stern facial expression, Clive was comforted by Beckinsale who showered her beloved four-legged friend with kisses.

“Everyone likes a bit of kissing and hyping when they get into a party outfit,” the star captioned a video of the pair along with the sounds of the theme song of Jurassic Park being hummed by a friend in the background.

Beckinsale is also a pet parent to cat Willow, who is also regularly featured on Instagram.

In August, Beckinsale told Collider that her two cats usually completely ignore each other, but Willow occasionally demonstrates some human behavior.

“It’s unusual to walk in and find your cat eating a salad. I didn’t know she liked salad until that moment. I’m assuming when I’m not home, she’s in my leather pants on the phone,” she said.

Michael Howells, Production Designer in Film and Fashion, Dies at 61

LONDON — Michael Howells, the fashion, film and theatre production designer whose work ranged from the dramatic runway sets for John Galliano’s Dior shows to the period backdrops for ITV’s “Victoria,” has died, according to his company Michael Howells Studio.
Howells, who wove his passion for history, travel, literature and the arts into his dramatic sets and costumes, died Wednesday of complications from a heart condition. He was 61, and is survived by his mother, a sister and a nephew.
A tall, gentle and elegant man with a razor-sharp intellect and fertile imagination, regularly collaborated with Galliano on the designer’s own label and at Dior. He also worked with Christian Lacroix and Alexander McQueen.
In 2007, Galliano told WWD that he would brief Howells — and then let him go wild. “He makes the magic happen and works out how to find a merry-go-round and transform Stade de France into a tumbledown Hamptons holiday,” said the designer. The carrousel from 1900 that Howells eventually found had to be dismantled and brought to the show piece by piece, by crane.
Galliano was referring to the October, 2006 show for his label, which was inspired by “Grey Gardens.” With help from Howells, Galliano had arranged a seaside

RELATED GALLERY: 11 Sweet Pics of Michael Bublé’s Adorable Family

PEOPLE confirmed in February that the couple is expecting baby No. 3 — they also share son Noah, now 4½, and son Elias, 2.

For more coverage, follow our babies magazine on Flipboard.

Back in 2016, Bublé, 42, and Lopilato revealed in a statement that Noah had been diagnosed with cancer.

“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US,” said.

The statement continued, “Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”

The couple — who later shared that “the worst is over” concerning Noah’s diagnosis and treatment — attended the 2018 Juno Awards in March, where the Argentine model and actress made her baby-bump debut while her musician husband hosted the evening’s festivities.

Bublé — who gave his wife a sweet-shout out on stage, saying, “I love you so much, mi amor” — spoke with ET Canada during the show (which he, notably, bowed out of hosting last year amid Noah’s health struggles), revealing that he was feeling “happy and healthy” at the moment.

“Emotionally, it’s a roller coaster,” he admitted, adding, “I think life sort of teaches you these hard lessons sometimes. Part of that lesson is that it allowed me to really have perspective, and to really enjoy more than I ever have in my life. I enjoy the small things.”

Jamie Lee Curtis Is “Prepared” for Michael Myers

“How f**king crazy is this?” Jamie Lee Curtis asks us, fully decked out in her Laurie Strode costume and hairstyle, even though she says she’s not even filming anything today. It’s one of the many signs that the production of the new Halloween must be going relatively well. Certainly everyone seems happy to be there.

Jamie Lee Curtis immediately jumps into a story about going in for ballistic training, surprising the local proprietor, and helping him get his merch signed. And when he asked her to shoot a bullet through the cover of his vinyl soundtrack to the original film, you better believe she did it. (And it was her first shot on a bolt action rifle, too.)

But the life of Laurie Strode, her character in the Halloween franchise, isn’t nearly as cheerful. Despite appearing in four of the original Halloween sequels, David Gordon Green’s new film completely rewrites the history of Laurie, and the whole Halloween series. Now, only the first film happened, leaving Laurie – the teenaged survivor of the 1978 Halloween night massacre, perpetrated by the masked killer Michael Myers – in a state of deep, deep trauma which has followed her throughout her entire life.

Grace Coddington, Michael Roberts Host Book Signing at London’s Smythson Store

BOOK SIGNING: “There’s a slight familiarity with Gingernutz — she’s me,” said Grace Coddington at the London book signing of “GingerNutz: The Jungle Memoir of a Model Orangutan” on Thursday evening.
Held at the Smythson store on New Bond Street, British designers including Erdem Moralioğlu, E. Tautz owner and creative director Patrick Grant and Stephen Jones were among the guests who turned up to show support.
Coddington recalled the first time she encountered the main character — illustrated by longtime friend Michael Roberts — and thought she was so cute. Roberts had drawn a series of illustrations from the point of view of a baby orangutan and depicted the little ape’s journey navigating the fashion world. Alongside her book, Coddington will also be contributing to the December issue of British Vogue.
“I have already contributed,” Coddington said. “And I can’t wait for it to come out. I’ve only done one and it’s at the early stages. Edward [Enninful] loved it and that’s the main thing. I loved it. I’m very happy with it. It’s a surprise.”
While Coddington, couldn’t divulge too many details, she noted that working with British Vogue’s new editor in chief was a great experience. “We’re friends so we go back

Michael Kors Collection Fur 2017

Michael Kors showed an ample range of furs on his fall runway, many of them indulgent explosions of mink and fox, some in green and magenta, as well as a black silver fox cutout to expose the shoulders. He brought out the commercial addendum to his runway range on April 27, which included an array of sporty styles, such as a cropped shearling moto jacket; louche sable and mink pullovers that fell off the shoulder; a neat tailored corduroy mink officer’s coat, and a gigantic silver fox cape coat, and the piece de resistance: a chocolate sable bathrobe coat. Some interesting techniques included coating the fur in silver for a light metallic finish and piecing together long-hair and short-hair mink and fox into a 3-D intarsia.

Michael Moore Recalls The Time Bill O’Reilly Accosted Him On The Street

Michael Moore is feeling pretty good after Bill O’Reilly was dumped by Fox News following multiple allegations of sexual harassment.

On Thursday, while speaking after a special screening of his 2002 film “Bowling for Columbine” at the Tribeca Film Festival, the Moore recalled how O’Reilly once randomly accosted him on the street.

Moore told the audience of one time when O’Reilly was “passing me by on the street in a limo, sees me, tells the driver to screech to a halt, and he jumps out of the car, yelling at me. Someone happened to capture a picture of the moment. Look at O’Reilly’s face ― it’s the scariest frikkin’ thing. But I’m still standing and he’s not,” he said.

Yes, there’s somehow photographic evidence of such an event, which Moore tweeted out on Wednesday.

Moore famously went head-to-head with O’Reilly after the release of Moore’s 2004 documentary “Fahrenheit 9/11,” in which the former Fox News host began the interview by asking Moore, “You want to apologize to the president now or later?”

Michael Moore Urges Democrats To ‘Declare A National Emergency’ Amid FBI Trump Probe

Filmmaker Michael Moore on Wednesday urged the Democratic Party to declare a national emergency after the FBI said it was investigating whether members of Donald Trump’s campaign team had worked with the Russian government to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

Of course, Moore made his point in a most engaging way on Instagram, using a red alert light to call on Democratic leaders to respond with full alarm to the “shock in our democracy.”

“The Democratic leadership in the House and Senate needs to bring a halt to all business being done in the name of this potential felony suspect, Donald J. Trump,” Moore wrote. “No bill he supports, no Supreme Court nominee he has named, can be decided while he is under a criminal investigation. His presidency has no legitimacy until the FBI ― and an independent investigative committee ― discovers the truth.”

The Oscar-winning documentary director has been an outspoken critic of President Trump, having instructed Americans on how to resist his administration from Day 1.

This time, he punctuated his point by using an ironic quote from former Republican President Richard Nixon.

The man does have a flair for inspiring action.

Chad Michael Murray’s ‘Sun Records’ Nude Scene Is Reminiscent Of That ‘One Tree Hill’ Moment

One Tree Hill” lovers, unite! (Or if you’re a “Dawson’s Creek” or “Gilmore Girls” fan, that works, too.)

Our early-aughts crush Chad Michael Murray is giving us a treat on his new show, “Sun Records,” and stripping down to nothing but a towel (hanging from you-know-where) in a scene reminiscent of that “One Tree Hill” nothing-but-basketballs-down-the-high-school-hallway moment.

“Everybody keeps saying, ‘Nothing but a towel or a basketball with a hole cut out in it,’ which, by the way, that’s how that scene actually went down. It was a foamy basketball, so it wasn’t a real basketball, but we tried that and trust me, it did not hide … the real one,” Murray told The Huffington Post of the “OTH” scene during a Build Series interview on Thursday, continuing, “So, we had to find a foam basketball and they cut a hole out in it so you could just [motions] … you get the gist. And that was, what, Episode 2 of ‘One Tree Hill,’ I think? My goodness, like, ‘Hey guys, when am I not going to be naked on set?’”

It was Season 1, Episode 3, when Lucas Scott does that infamous walk, but who’s keeping track?

As for why Murray decided to get in the buff for “Sun Records,” the actor said his character, the famous 1950s record executive Sam Phillips, was simply flirting with his next-door neighbor.

“It’s done tastefully and it’s done beautifully and [it was] super uncomfortable,” Murray joked. “Our neighbor in the show is basically the Avon lady and I was like, ‘Gosh, this is such a good relationship, let’s make it something!’ I decided Sam has the biggest crush on her in the weirdest way, so every time Nadine comes to the house, I wanted to push the envelope, and this is where it came. That wasn’t what the scene initially was, but that’s what it became.”

Still, Murray said this naked moment was a little more embarrassing to do than the “OTH” one.

“We’re bringing it back but, you know, this is the dad-bod version of me.”

Here’s the “Sun Records” scene:

”Sun Records” is on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on CMT. Watch Chad Michael Murray’s full Build Series interview below.

Michael Kors FINALLY Put A Plus-Size Model On The Runway

Young designers including Prabal Gurung and Christian Siriano have been rightfully praised for their commitment to diversity, most recently at New York Fashion Week. But an industry veteran has us convinced more than ever that change is finally here.

Michael Kors included a plus-size model in his runway show Wednesday, marking the first time he’s cast a woman above size 12 at Fashion Week since he launched his line in 1981. Ashley Graham, arguably today’s most well-known plus-size supermodel, did the honors.

Kors is now one of the most universally known and famous designers to make this bold statement of inclusion on the runway. His industry peers are still very much steeped in outdated standards of beauty, which is what makes his decision so important.

But really, if anyone on his level was going to make the first move, it makes sense that it was Kors: He’s one of the few major fashion designers who actually offers variations of his clothing in extended sizes. The move also makes good on a desire he expressed way back in 2013 for more diversity on the runway

“I don’t like it when the models all look the same,” he said at the time. “To me it’s so incredibly boring to turn them into mannequins, it’s so much more interesting if we have different ages, ethnicities, body types, heights.”

For Graham, it was one hell of a way to wrap up another big week. She makes a repeat appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue released Wednesday, and the day before that, she was revealed as the face of Prabal Gurung’s new collection with Lane Bryant.

She shared her excitement about this major moment on Instagram, writing, “MICHAEL MICHAEL MICHAEL!!! Thank you for the opportunity and showing that beauty comes in many different forms!!”

This shift in the paradigm is an exciting look forward ― and hopefully a message to all designers that inclusion is the new normal.

First Lady Melania Trump Chooses Michael Kors Ensemble for Flight to Mar-a-Lago

FLYING SOLO: Like President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump is bombarded by opinions — spoken, shouted, insinuated and whispered — but her independent streak and designer wardrobe remain. En route to Palm Beach Friday afternoon with her husband and Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and his wife Akie, FLOTUS boarded Air Force One wearing white wide-legged Michael Kors pants, a black button-front blouse and a black wool coat.
Earlier in the day, the First Lady, who spends the weekdays in Manhattan so that her son Barron can attend school, arrived in Washington, D.C., in time to greet the Abes. But Japan’s First Lady was on her own, visiting Gallaudet University and later in the day attending a National Cherry Blossom Festival committee meeting at the Japanese Embassy, according to a CNN report. It is more customary for First Ladies to keep the wives of visiting dignitaries company during their visits. But as many American voters and international observers can attest to, the Trump White House is not exactly predictable.
Case in point: the first couple’s wining-and-dining weekend plans for the Abes will be centered at Mar-a-Lago. Before the President and Japan’s Prime Minister tee off for a round of golf on Saturday, the first couple was

George Michael Was A ‘Filthy’ Gay ‘F***er’ And We Should Honor Him For That

Last night, after word spread that pop star George Michael died at the age of 53, I sent out several tweets honoring the man who meant a lot to me as a queer young man who came out in the late ‘90s. My first tweet instructed those unfamiliar with Michael (and the brilliance of what he created) to seek out his music. This was my second tweet:

I was referencing Michael’s well-publicized history with cruising for sex in public places (he was arrested by an undercover policeman in a Beverly Hills men’s room in 1998 and again 10 years later in London). While I was being cheeky in a way that I thought he would appreciate in the big Wembley Stadium in the sky, I also meant it. It was my way of paying tribute to how open, outspoken and unapologetic he was about who he was (once he came out in 1998), his sexuality and looking for gay sex in what could be referred to as non-traditional locales.

But shit soon hit the fan. People who thought I was being “disrespectful” and “tacky” and “tasteless” flooded my Twitter mentions. A few people commented “too soon.” Others couldn’t believe that this was the only aspect of his life that I had chosen to concentrate on (which means they obviously didn’t read my aforementioned tweet). How dare I! One person called me “the 2016 of people” (which is actually kind of amazing) and another promised to “piss on my grave” when I died (I mean… don’t threaten my corpse with a good time, right?).

I tried to explain that as a queer, sex-positive man, this part of Michael’s life ― these moments of queer sexuality and his sex life that were made very public ― helped to reorganize and shape how I saw and embraced my own sexuality, which was nothing short of a miracle considering the homophobic and sex-negative culture we live in.

My tweet wasn’t a joke and it wasn’t rude or disrespectful. If you read it that way you’re implying that gay sex ― public or otherwise ― is shameful. I don’t and neither did Michael.

In fact, after the pop star was caught in 1998, he turned the incident into a celebratory song (accompanied by a splendidly self-conscious video featuring a public restroom that turns into a disco and Michael dressed as a cop) about the joys of having sex outside:

After his arrest in a public toilet on a drug-related charge in 2008, he opened up to The Guardian about his love of cruising saying, “the handful of times a year it’s bloody warm enough, I’ll do it.” He added, “It’s a much nicer place to get some quick and honest sex than standing in a bar, E’d off your tits shouting at somebody and hoping they want the same thing as you do in bed.”

No shame. No embarrassment. No mincing of words. Just the truth about what he liked and how he liked it.

In 2011, he playfully quoted his 1987 hit “I Want Your Sex” to tweet a similar message:

So why all of the frantic pearl clutching? Why the attempts to bleach this part of his life from his legacy? Because we like our heroes wearing halos and because gay sex ― public or otherwise ― is still an absolutely terrifying concept for too many people (including some who may support queer rights). It’s seen as disgusting. It’s seen as unnatural. It’s seen as contributing to the downfall of modern civilization. In fact, William Pryor, a man that Donald Trump is considering as a nominee for the United States Supreme Court, believes that consensual gay sex should be illegal ― even in the privacy of one’s own home.

But let’s not forget that the sex acts that gay men engage in aren’t secret satanic practices. It’s the exact same kind of sex that most non-queer people have, just with a different distribution of equipment (and if anyone wants to claim that non-queer people don’t also enjoy blow jobs or butt sex, I’m going to laugh you right off of this planet).

Even scarier and sadder to me than the non-queer people who have a problem with gay sex are the queer people who are up in arms about my tweet. I’ve encountered folks like them before and in some ways, I understand their trepidation and their fear. The general idea is that if we don’t “behave” ourselves ― especially if people like Michael (who represent us in a world where queers are all too often invisible, ignored and/or vilified) don’t ― and quietly assimilate into mainstream society, we won’t be able to keep the rights that we have (and gain more). And so, instead of speaking frankly and honestly about sex ― that tireless boogeyman that has mesmerized and terrorized our society for centuries ― we should just shut up, get married, have kids and stop causing trouble.

But we can’t do that. Our queer fore-parents worked too hard, and too many died, for us to walk away from the dream of sexual liberation for all of us. That means we must not buy into a broken system that is simultaneously obsessed with and panic-stricken by all things sex. It means we must not accept the sexual status quo that all-too-often results in fake piety in the streets and discreet sleaze in the sheets. It means we must not pretend that Michael never had or loved gay sex. Let’s not sanitize him just because it would make it easier for some of us to eulogize him or love him or play his music for our children or our grandparents.

Michael himself wouldn’t want that. He’d hate it. Consider what he told The Guardian in 2005:

“You only have to turn on the television to see the whole of British society being comforted by gay men who are so clearly gay and so obviously sexually unthreatening. Gay people in the media are doing what makes straight people comfortable, and automatically my response to that is to say I’m a dirty filthy fucker and if you can’t deal with it, you can’t deal with it.”

And before anyone says that I’m claiming public restrooms should become bathhouses or that we should all be pumping our neighbors in the park, I’m not. While I constantly try to question, unpack and challenge why our society feels the way it does about sex and what it deems is OK and what isn’t, I understand that there are currently laws against these activities and I understand why they exist. I’m talking about pushing back against the shame and hysteria that accompanies any kind of discussion of a gay person’s sex life and striving to not view sex or sexuality ― queer or otherwise ― as bad things.

I also want to briefly acknowledge Michael’s long struggle with substance abuse and how it may or may not have played into his sexual appetites and activities. Gay men, drugs and sex have an intimate and complicated history and I don’t want to ignore any of that. But I also refuse to write off his sex positivity or his candor about it as merely a result or symptom of his experiences with drugs.

So, yes, George Michael was an incredible singer and a beautiful songwriter but he was also a gay man who wasn’t ashamed of his sexuality and who loved sex. I want to honor all parts of his life ― the musical and the sexual, the triumphs and the setbacks ― and I refuse to shy away from any of it out of a misguided and incomplete attempt to pay “respect” to his life or his death. Ultimately, the best way I know how to honor him is to talk about who he really was, what he really did and how it changed my life ― and that means all of it, including his hunting for dick in the men’s room.

You’ll be sorely missed, George. Thanks for everything you did ― all of it ― and I hope the men in heaven are as hot as you were and that you’ve found yourself a nice fluffy cloud where you’re already getting into all of the best kinds of trouble.

SHOPPING DEALS UPDATE:

Michael Phelps And Nicole Johnson’s Wedding Video Is Pure Romance

On Oct. 29, Michael Phelps tied the knot with Nicole Johnson in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Two months later, we’re finally getting a glimpse at the couple’s stunning wedding video, shot by Taylor Chien.

The pair officially got married back in June (before Phelps won his 23rd Olympic gold medal in Rio) in an intimate backyard ceremony in Tempe, Arizona with only five people present. Their destination wedding in Cabo ― with 50 guests, a mariachi band, an exquisite Julie Vino gown and party that went until 2:30 a.m. ―  was the real deal.

“When we talk about our wedding, we mean our Cabo wedding in October with our parents, our siblings, our bridal party, and a few people who played an integral part of our relationship while we were together,” the former Miss California told Brides magazine.

The couple’s now 7-month-old son Boomer acted as the ring bearer, donning a Burberry ensemble for the occasion while holding a little bag with the rings.

“I think he kind of sucked on the bag a little bit while he was standing up there!” Johnson said.

The newlyweds also told Brides they live a “healthy, competitive” life together.

“Every morning when we wake up, whoever says, ‘I love you more’ first wins for the day — and we’ve been doing this for a couple of years now,” Johnson said.

Between a baby, a wedding and a record-breaking Olympic games, 2016 has been a big one for Phelps.

“It’s been a huge year,” he told Brides. “We just decided to do everything with a bang, and cram it all into a year! It was a hectic couple of months, but looking back, it was a great couple of months.”

Michael Bay Has Zero Interest In Blowing Things Up For A Marvel Movie

You’d think Marvel and director Michael Bay would go hand in hand, right? Both have failed Ben Affleck miserably, been blamed for the downfall of cinema, and demanded an unnecessary amount of explosions to make their movies watchable. And yet, Bay has steered clear from the recent boom in superhero films.

During an interview with Collider on the set of “Transformers: The Last Knight” published Monday, the director explained that he has zero interest in directing a Marvel flick because nothing can compare to creating a world all your own.

“I really liked ‘Civil War.’ I like a lot of the Marvel movies,” Bay said. “When I saw ‘Iron Man,’ it broke a lot of new ground for me, and it was a great character. Funny, witty, I liked that about it.”

Still, he’d rather stick to directing Mark Wahlberg’s varied “OMG robots are real” expressions in the billion-dollar “Transformers” franchise, which spits out a new installment this summer, than anything Marvel.

“I wouldn’t want to, it’s not my thing,” he stated. “It’s just not my gig.”

According to Collider, Bay also expressed some concerns about the similarities in plots of recent superhero movies, noting that he does “wonder where [superhero movies] are going to go,” because “Batman v Superman” and “Captain America: Civil War” had “almost the same setup.”

“I don’t ever wanna take someone like a third of something or second of something. I gotta do my own thing … ‘cause the most fun is when a real director creates the world,” Bay said. “You know, you talk to Ridley Scott, one our favorite things to do is to create the world. Steven Spielberg, create the world. That is what it’s about.”

He added, “If I were to do something, I would have to redo it my way.”

On that note, here’s the new trailer for “Transformers: The Last Knight”:

Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2017

The pre-seasons have become about two things: the clothes themselves and, in this age of Instagram, insta-access, insta-everything, how and when designers sanction their unveiling.
Along the way, the editorial embargo — once viewed by journalists as a last-resort deal with the devil to secure a major, sensitive story — is now applied regularly to the often fine, seldom scintillating array of tops, pants and dresses that comprise the resort and pre-fall collections. It’s — what’s the word? Ridiculous.
Thank the fashion gods that, even in these crazy times, some designers retain a sense of perspective, Michael Kors at the top of the list. Yes, he fears the fast-fashion knock-off machine. But as he sees it, the “big reveal” need not be an all-or-nothing affair. Thus Kors shows his full collection to both short- and long-lead press and designates a number of looks for photography, for pre-fall upping the count from six looks to 10. Nobody needs any more. (WWD does not see embargoed collections; we wait for the embargo to lift, so we can do our job, which is to report on what we see.)
While Kors’ pre-fall looked fresh, it picked up on a major current from his upbeat spring collection, inspired, he said

In a Facebook post shared Tuesday night, Kilmer confirmed he received a “nice note” from Douglas apologizing for providing the misinformation.

“[He] was grateful to hear I am doing well,” Kilmer wrote. “He’s a classy guy.”

In his post, the “True Romance” actor also provides a few details about meeting Douglas and his father, Kirk, for the first time. You can read it in full below:

Kilmer’s message comes a few weeks after Douglas said in an interview, “Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him.”

After the news spread, a rep for Douglas released a statement regarding the actor’s comments, noting he was “under the impression” Kilmer was ill. Kilmer himself then disputed Douglas claims in a Facebook post saying his former co-star was “misinformed.”

Speculation surrounding Kilmer’s health began circulating in January 2015, when it was reported that the “Top Gun” actor had been hospitalized after he began bleeding from his throat. It was believed the star underwent surgery for a throat tumor.

Kilmer has adamantly denied any illness or surgery, though he was spotted out in December 2015 with what seemed to be a tracheostomy tube around his neck. Afterward, he continued covering his neck with scarves and bandanas when out in public.

This past February, the actor was seen without the medical device (or scarf) around his neck in a few photos he shared online, but he has yet to address it.

Last week, Kilmer made his first public appearance since denying Douglas’ claims and was having trouble speaking, according to People. The actor, who was promoting his one-man play in “Citizen Twain” in Los Angeles, reportedly admitted to the crowd that he was “still recovering” though he did not say from what.

“My tongue swelled up and I canceled the tour. As I’m recovering, I’m showing this,” he reportedly said.

Michael Bublé Takes A Break From Singing After Son’s Cancer Diagnosis

Just one week after Michael Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato announced that their 3-year-old son, Noah, has cancer, Bublé’s friend and mentor David Foster gave an update on how the singer is coping.

“I think Michael, right now, is in a huge bubble, as you would expect when this happens. Everything shuts down around you,” the composer told Entertainment Tonight Canada, later adding that Bublé “will not sing again until his child is well.”

“I’m certain of it,” he said.

Many fans have reached out to the singer through social media, and Foster said that a few have contacted him wishing to extend their well-wishes and resources to Bublé. Though the diagnosis is heartbreaking, Bublé is “in good shape.”

“He’s got good doctors around him. We will hope and pray for a good outcome, which I believe that they will have,” Foster said, suggesting his fellow Canadian’s “good karma” will come into play.

Last Friday, Bublé and his wife broke the news about Noah’s illness in a Facebook post, asking fans to respect their privacy.

“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US,” the statement read. “We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.”

Michael Moore Prescient Pollster: Predicting the Improbable Presidency

Documentary filmmakers gathered at Criterion offices the day after presidential election 2016 to celebrate Kristen Johnson’s Cameraperson, a compilation of her work shooting for prominent directors like Laura Poitras (Citizen Four) and Michael Moore (Trumpland), who were slated to join Johnson on a panel. Given the election results the night before, the event was nearly cancelled but the participants decided to proceed, modifying the agenda to include discussion of the proverbial elephant in the room. Readers of Moore’s blog since July were well aware of this premier satirist’s warnings, that disenfranchised white men would swing for Trump, and they did, shaking up even the most astute pollsters. Now, suffering election hangover, everyone wanted to know, what do we do next?

Michael Moore was running late. A huge crowd had gathered in Union Square a block away to protest the Trump victory. “Not our president,” read signs, as police lined barricades. Moore is a hard man to hide, even when he’s got his signature hat pulled down at the brim. And so they stopped him to make a speech at the rally. Before he showed up to speak on the panel, Poitras read Moore’s advice: Take over the Democratic Party, a disappointment, fire the pollsters, remember that the media created Trump, and most of all, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. “Our fellow Americans did not want Trump,” said Moore. “White men running the show is over.”

Michael Moore’s Ominous Election Tweet Will Chill You To The Bone

In the wake of Donald Trump’s victory, Michael Moore posted a dark tweet. Very dark.

Gulp. The Oscar-winning Moore, a staunch Trump critic and maker of “Michael Moore in TrumpLand,” predicted months ago that Trump would win the election. While his declaration may have been intended in part to rile Hillary Clinton supporters out of complacency, it came true.

As for his tweet, let’s not even go there.

We were deluded in our euphoria and made the most dangerous mistake a country can make: We assumed we had no more enemies.
