Prince George and Savannah Phillips Strike Again! The Royal Cousins Goof Off at Eugenie’s Wedding

Prince George and his cousin Savannah Phillips were up to their playful ways again at Friday’s royal wedding.

The adorable page boys and bridesmaids of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank entered St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle ahead of the stunning bride (a couple bridal party members took a tumble walking up the chapel stairs!), where they waited for Eugenie’s arrival.

George, 5, and Savannah, 7, decided to pass the time doing what they do best together: Having some mischievous fun!

Savannah was spotted making George laugh by imitating the trumpet players providing entrance fanfare for the ceremony. Perhaps the son of Kate Middleton and Prince William realized the cameras on him – he was photographed covering his mouth with his eyes wide as if he’d been caught!

This isn’t the first time the cousins have stolen the show at a major royal event.

When the royal family gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the Trooping the Colour flypast in June, the youngest members couldn’t help but be in awe of the spectacle overhead.

Princess Charlotte, 3, clapped as the planes flew overhead, and while her brother Prince George offered his applause sparingly, his dropped jaw gave a better indication of how he felt about the big event, meant to celebrate the Queen’s official birthday. But Queen Elizabeth‘s great-granddaughter Savannah Phillips wanted her cousin to keep it cool, so she promptly placed her right hand right over the future king’s mouth when he started to giggle.

“Savannah started it by pretending to conduct as the national anthem was played and George joined in the fun. But when Savannah realized it was probably not what they should be doing – maybe William said something to them – she stopped George from saying any more. He was either saying the wrong thing or giggling,” another observer told PEOPLE.

A few weeks later, the cousins cheered on Prince William at his charity polo match in Gloucester, England.

During the playdate, the daughter of William’s cousins Peter and Autumn Phillips playfully pushed George down a hill when he attempted to sit next to her.

Though George wasn’t injured and regained his balance, Savannah wasn’t unscathed as she was scolded by mom Autumn immediately after.

Also during the polo event, Savannah was spotted ruffling George’s hair when he wasn’t looking. While she had some fun teasing the future heir to the throne, she appeared to show more affection to Princess Charlotte.

“ sat with Charlotte in her lap,” an observer told PEOPLE. “She hugged her and balanced her on her knee.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Next Royal Date Is Right Where They Belong — Find Out Why!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are about to come face-to-face with their royal namesake!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to make their first joint visit to Sussex (about 50 miles south of London) on October 3, where they will see the historic Sussex Declaration, open a Tech Park and visit with locals.

Queen Elizabeth gave the couple their brand new royal titles — the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — on the morning of their royal wedding on May 19. Bestowing titles to members of the royal family on their wedding day is a longtime tradition. When Prince William and Kate Middleton got married, they became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Just like most royal dukedoms, the title Duke of Sussex carries quite a bit of history. Though it first appeared as early as the 800s, it’s traceable origins start with Prince Augustus Frederick, son of King George III (who was the British monarch during the American Revolution).

Meghan and Harry’s first port of call in the southern English region will be a blending of both their backgrounds. The royal couple will be shown a rare Sussex copy of the American Declaration of Independence, which is kept in Edes House, in the heart of Chichester, West Sussex.

Can’t get enough of PEOPLE’s Royals coverage? Sign up for our newsletter to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more!

The Sussex Declaration is one of only two contemporary handwritten ceremonial manuscript copies (the other is the signed copy housed in the National Archives in Washington, D.C.), and it comes only weeks after Harry and Meghan’s trip to see Hamilton, which captures some of the story of the Revolutionary era.

The next stop is along the coast at Bognor Regis, where Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, will officially open the University of Chichester’s Engineering and Digital Technology Park, which partners with local industry to offer students practical experiences in the sectors.

They are then scheduled to leave the county of West Sussex and travel along the coast to East Sussex to see the seaside city of Brighton and Hove. They start at the Royal Pavilion, which was built in the mid-1780s and was used by George IV as something of a pleasure palace. The grand structure has a flamboyant style, with expense spared on its interior decorations, matching its royal patron’s tastes for fashion and the arts. His regular visits to Brighton helped put the seaside town on the map and it grew in importance after that.

The couple will then walk to Survivors’ Network, a charity that supports survivors of sexual violence and abuse in Sussex to talk with to service users, volunteers and staff.

The royal couple’s final engagement of the day will be a visit to JOFF Youth Centre in Peacehaven. The community hub offers activities, from a chill out area to a music practice room and Harry and Meghan will meet young people to hear their plans and priorities around mental health and emotional wellbeing.

The visit is part of Takeover Challenge Day, which is a national initiative that encourages organizations to put young people into real life decision-making positions.

Meghan Markle Reveals the Secret Way Her Wedding Veil Honored Her First Date with Prince Harry

It doesn’t get more romantic than this.

In a sneak peek from the upcoming HBO documentary Queen of the World, Meghan Markle opens up about the secret tribute to her first date with Prince Harry hidden within her spectacular 16-foot wedding veil.

While getting a chance to see her dress for the first time after tying the knot in May, Meghan, 37, reveals the special significance behind a “piece of blue fabric” stitched inside.

“Somewhere in here there’s a piece of blue fabric that’s stitched inside — it was my something blue,” Meghan remarks while inspecting the veil in the video above.

Sweetly, she adds, “It’s fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date.”

Of course, the cathedral-length veil also represented a special connection to the Commonwealth.

The bride’s headpiece, made from silk tulle, featured a trim of hand-embroidered flowers from each of the 53 counties in the Commonwealth, the family of nations linked to the U.K., in threads and organza.

“I’m really over the moon to find out that I would make this choice for our day together,” Meghan says in another clip. “And I think the other members of the family had a similar reaction and just appreciation for the fact that we understand how important this is for us and the role that we play, and the work that we’re going to continue to do within the Commonwealth countries.”

Meghan adds: “It was good news all around, I think, so I hope people like it as much as I liked helping to create it.”

Designer Clare Waight Keller previously told PEOPLE that the idea came to her after several conversations with Meghan about what “story” she wanted to tell with the celebration.

“There was a conversation early on about the story that we were going to tell through this wedding,” she said. “Part of what I wanted to do was talk to her about what type of stories they could be. The fact that her and Prince Harry will be working a lot in the Commonwealth was something that I thought was really intriguing and could be something built on to be part of the day.”

“We had different conversations back and forth and I came up with the idea of maybe representing each of the countries, the 53 countries of the Commonwealth, through their flora and fauna,” she added. “We both loved the story of that. It also meant that single one of those countries also journeyed up the aisle with her. It was a really poetic moment.”

The documentary features members of the royal family speaking about Queen Elizabeth and the Commonwealth — and it will air just before Harry and Meghan head to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga on their first official tour of Commonwealth nations.

A palace source previously told PEOPLE that Meghan takes part in “a conversation, a stand-up chat” for the film. The series will also feature appearances from Harry, Prince Charles and Prince William.

Queen of the World premieres Monday, Oct. 1 on HBO at 8 p.m.

How Meghan Markle Will Make Harry Feel Like a True Prince on His Birthday

Meghan Markle knows how to take a celebration up a notch. And for Prince Harry’s 34th birthday on Saturday, the duchess, who has called herself a “pretty good cook and a firm believer in handwritten notes,” will no doubt pull out all the stops for her new husband’s big day.

Thanks to her former love of social media and her now-defunct lifestyle website, The Tig, Meghan has given us major insight into how she’ll plan a birthday fit for a prince!

She’ll write Harry a love note.
“If given the option between fingers to keyboard, or pen to paper, I will always choose the latter,” she wrote. “Because amongst the throwback things that I love (a ’62 porsche speedster à la Dylan McKay in 90210, a bevy of Vargas girls, a Busby Berkeley film, or cooking over a charcoal grill), what trumps all is my love of writing (and receiving) a handwritten note.”

She’ll give a thoughtful gift…
“It’s easy to grab another T-shirt for your man — but you’ll likely steal it for PJs anyway. Instead, give him something creative that he’ll actually enjoy.”

…like a new book
“There’s simply nothing like making that first fire in the fireplace (or hey, just lighting a candle) and cracking open a new novel where endless possibilities abound. Because whether it’s to escape, to inform, to inspire, or to just turn off the world while you sit by a pool, I love getting lost in a good book.”

She’ll be affectionate.
“Let’s discuss the simple pleasures in life: holding someone’s hand so seamlessly that you can’t decipher their fingers from your own, fresh baked bread smeared with briny French butter, a smile that says you are endlessly adored, the sizzle and smell of sautéing onions, and finding the perfect book,” she wrote.

She’ll plan a fun trip.
“I have the travel bug not a week goes by without me finding my derrière on a plane.”

She’ll wear something special.
“Perhaps it’s the girly girl in me. Maybe it’s the fact that if given the choice between punk and pretty, I will always vote for pretty. For women looking like ladies. For the opportunity to wow with class and grace and fairytale level ball gown beauty.”

She’ll take him to a yoga class.
“I was born and raised in Los Angeles, a California girl who lives by the ethos that most things can be cured with either yoga, the beach, or a few avocados.”

She’ll cook him a special birthday meal.
“Some days you have a bite of food that makes you go ‘woah.’ Your eyes widen, you look down at the plate, almost pushing things around with your fork to see what’s making it so special. You take another bite, smiling as you do so, almost laughing, because it’s just so damn good.”

She’ll plan an epic date night.
“There’s nothing like a jewel box sized restaurant to add to the intimacy and coziness of a night out — because, let’s be honest — some the best meals of our lives have less to do with the food specifically, and more to do with the overall experience; the space being high on the list.”

She’ll be romantic.
“ think it’s safe to say that we all fall in love a little bit every day. Be it with your partner, your crush, even a person in passing that energetically makes your heart go pitter pat. Whatever the case may be, when you meet someone that makes you beam, you must take note.”

This Is Why We Won’t See Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s Back-to-School Photos This Year

It’s back to school for royal kids too, but Prince William and Kate Middleton aren’t showing off Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first day photos.

Although George begins his second year at Thomas’s Battersea on Thursday, and Charlotte returned to Willcocks Nursery School on Wednesday, there weren’t any official snaps taken.

Insiders tell PEOPLE that there won’t be pictures of the royal children every year. The couple has always made a point of treating school as a private area, so that George and Charlotte can grow up in as pressure-free an atmosphere as possible.

Will and Kate released photos of George’s first day of school last year because it was a significant milestone: his first day at Thomas’s Battersea.

They also shared photos of George’s first day of preschool back in 2016 at the Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk. But they didn’t share photos from his second year of preschool.

Likewise, the royal parents shared photos of Charlotte’s very first day of preschool earlier this year, when she officially started at Willcocks Nursery School in January. But they didn’t share snaps for her first day back to school earlier this week.

The royal siblings will likely next be seen in an official capacity at Princess Eugenie’s wedding on October 12, when they could reprise their role as little bridal party members. George and Charlotte stole the show as a page boy and bridesmaid in both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent nuptials and their aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding last May.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Just Took the Next Step by Getting a New Dog

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a new addition: a pup to share their lives, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The couple got the dog — believed to be a Labrador — in early summer, and the pooch has been joining them at their country getaway in the Cotswolds area and Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace in London, a source says.

Harry and Meghan’s new best friend will be a welcome addition to their rural walks. Dog lover Meghan, 37, had to leave one of her pets, Bogart, behind when she arrived in London from Toronto last November, when the couple got engaged. The rescue dog, a companion for Meghan’s Beagle Guy, was given to friends.

Guy, meanwhile, has been embedded into Meghan’s new royal life, and was at her feet as she sat for her hair and makeup on her wedding morning.

A spokeswoman at Kensington Palace declined to comment on the new arrival.

Harry and Meghan’s move mirrors that of his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, who got Cocker Spaniel Lupo shortly after their wedding, settling him into life with them in Anglesey, North Wales.

It’s been an eventful summer for newlyweds Harry and Meghan, who reportedly enjoyed a quiet weekend in Lake Como, Italy, with hosts George and Amal Clooney in August, ABC News reported.

While Harry and George played basketball, Meghan lounged by the pool with Amal and helped look after the Clooneys’ 14-month-old twins, Ella and Alexander, according to the outlet. The Clooneys also reportedly held a dinner party to celebrate their guests.

Prince Harry Experienced a Minor Wardrobe Malfunction of His Own — a Giant Hole in His Shoe!

Watch your step, Prince Harry!

While the online world was making a big deal of Meghan Markle‘s barely noticeable undone top button while attending attending the wedding of Harry’s longtime pal Charlie van Straubenzee to Daisy Jenks on Saturday, the 33-year-old royal suffered a minor wardrobe malfunction himself.

Fans with a sharp eye for detail noticed that there was a rather large hole on the bottom of Prince Harry’s shoe, proving that even royals know there’s nothing better than comfortably broken in footwear.

Turns out, the shoes seem to be a favorite pair of Harry’s, even if they are a little worn out. He sported the same pair, hole and all, back in April during a memorial service in London’s Trafalgar Square to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the murder of gang victim Stephen Lawrence.

Meghan, who celebrated her 37th birthday on Saturday, gave a friendly wave to the crowd during the outing while her top button had come undone, revealing a black lace camisole under her color-block, pleated shirtdress from Club Monaco.

Beaumont Etiquette founder and expert in all things proper, Myka Meier, tells PEOPLE that wardrobe malfunctions don’t qualify as breaking royal protocol — they’re simply accidents.

RELATED VIDEO: Meghan Markle Steps Out with Prince Harry on Her Birthday to Celebrate a Friend’s Wedding

“Meghan did not break royal protocol when her bra showed, as accidents or wardrobe malfunctions are not considered going against dress code rules,” Meier explains. “Her bra showing was not believed to be deliberate, in which case she would have not been seen to be disrespectful by the palace.”

She adds, “A blatant disregard of a rule which was set in order to show respect would when you would consider a break in royal protocol, which the Duchess of Sussex did not do.”

Meghan was all smiles for her first birthday as an official royal after her own wedding in May.

Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at the church separately, as Harry was with other close pals of the groom helping with arrangements and ushering duties, the pair were seen holding hands together at the ceremony, as Harry gazed approvingly at his wife.

While Harry tended to his duties, Meghan chatted with several women in attendance, including Celia McCorquodale, whose June wedding she previously attended with Harry.

Meghan Markle Steps Out with Prince Harry on Her Birthday to Celebrate a Friend’s Wedding

Meghan Markle is surrounded by lots of love on her birthday!

She and Prince Harry found themselves in a familiar place on Saturday — in church — as they celebrated another special wedding. The newlyweds attended the ceremony for one of Harry’s oldest family friends, Charlie van Straubenzee, 30, who married his 27-year-old girlfriend, Daisy Jenks, in Surrey on Saturday afternoon.

And it was a double celebration as Saturday marks Meghan’s 37th birthday — her first as an official royal after her own wedding in May.

Also at the nuptials in the English countryside (about 50 miles south of London) were another couple preparing for the second royal wedding of the year – Princess Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank. They are set to walk down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel (Meghan and Harry’s wedding site) at Windsor Castle on October 12.

Contrary to reports, Harry, 33, is not serving as best man at his good friend’s ceremony. But he is involved in the proceedings, including usher duties. He’ll also likely have a hand in some of the fun shenanigans planned for the reception.

Not in attendance were Prince William and wife Kate Middleton, who have been on summer vacation with their children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 3 months, in Mustique.

The wedding comes nearly three months since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s own fabulous day on May 19. A month later, they were at the nuptials of Princess Diana’s niece, Celia McCorquodale.

The friendship of Harry and van Straubenzee goes back to their prep school, Ludgrove. Harry was a classmate of Charlie’s late brother, Henry (who tragically died in a car crash in 2002). William is a close friend of the groom’s brother, Thomas (who is a godfather to Princess Charlotte), and both princes are joint patrons of a memorial fund to help schools in Uganda set up in Henry’s name.

August marks the summer break for the royals – most of whom will visit the Queen at Balmoral, Scotland, for at least part of their vacation. But William will be seen again in public on August 8, when he travels to France to attend a ceremony marking the centenary commemoration of the Battle of Amiens, which played a significant role in the ending of WWI.

Prince George Hits the Big Five With Birthday Snap Marking the Day

HIGH FIVE: Prince George turned five years old on Sunday, and to mark the occasion Kensington Palace has released an official photo of the eldest son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who is third in line to the British throne.
The photo was shot by Matt Porteus, who also captured the little royal on his third birthday.
Leaning against a brick wall in the garden of Clarence House, the London home of his grandfather Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, the grinning Prince is pictured wearing dark blue shorts and a white shirt with a round collar blue piping by Amaia. It’s the same outfit he wore for his younger brother Prince Louis’ christening earlier this month.
George has had an eventful summer so far. In addition to the christening, he also watched the Royal Air Force centenary flypast from Buckingham Palace and finished his first year of school at Thomas’s Battersea in South London.
To mark his five-year milestone, a five-pound coin has been issued by The Royal Mint featuring a reinterpretation of the image of St. George and the dragon. The coin, titled “The Progress of the Prince,” costs 13 pounds.

The Sweet Princess Charlotte Detail You May Have Missed in Prince Louis’ Christening Portraits

Mommy’s little helper!

Princess Charlotte is no stranger to stealing the spotlight, and the official portraits from Prince Louischristening, released Sunday, were no exception.

In the group shot with all the royal family members, including uncle Prince Harry and aunt Meghan Markle, Charlotte sits next to mom Kate Middleton. While everyone else looks at the camera and smiles (including a wide grin from Prince George, who is perched on dad Prince William‘s lap), the proud big sister is focused only on Louis as she lovingly gazes at her baby brother and adorably holds his hand.

When Kate’s side of the family — including a pregnant Pippa Middleton — joins the group, Charlotte directs her attention towards the camera and candidly holds her leg as she sits on the couch.

Charlotte also steals the show in a portrait of the family of five, where she poses holding Louis’ christening robe with her leg to the side in a little ballerina stance.

The 3-year-old has been taking her duties as a big sister seriously from the start. In an adorable photo of the pair taken just nine days after Louis’ birth on May 2 (Charlotte’s birthday), Charlotte cradles Louis in her lap and places a sweet kiss on her sleeping little brother’s head.

Both that photo as well as a solo shot of of the newborn royal were taken by Kate at the family’s home at Kensington Palace.

The portrait of Charlotte and Louis closely resembled the sweet image of big brother Prince George planting a kiss on his baby sister’s forehead a month after her birth in 2015.

Charlotte has proven to be protective of her baby brother as well. The little princess appeared to have a cheeky message for photographers at Louis’ christening last Monday. As she exited the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace with her family after the ceremony, she appeared to tell the gathered media: “You’re not coming.”

Following the christening, guests of William and Kate were invited to a private tea at Clarence House, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall‘s official London residence. There, they were served slices from a tier of Will and Kate’s 2011 wedding cake.

Prince William Just Revealed What Kate ‘Really’ Thinks About Him Being at a Motorcycle Race Today

Looking for adventure!

Motorcycle enthusiast Prince William flew to the Isle of Man for one of the world’s top races on Wednesday.

William, 35, who still rides a high-powered Ducati (which he recently used to get him to a soccer match with pals!), went to watch the famous festival on the small island between Britain and Ireland. And while the prince couldn’t wait to take in the event, his wife Kate Middleton didn’t share the same excitement.

William confessed Kate may have been a little skeptical of the intentions of his visit. When Laurence Skelly, the Isle of Man government’s minister for enterprise, asked him about her views. William told him, “When I said I was going to the Isle of Man for an official visit she said, ‘Really?’ ”

In the past, Kate has admitted to feeling “terrified” when her husband goes out on his motorcycle. And during a 2015 visit to Scotland, she said: “I’m going to keep George off of it!”

The annual Tourist Trophy (or TT race) is a major fixture in the motorcycling circuit. It began in 1907 and is one of the oldest motorsport events in the world.

As well as seeing a number of races, the prince met officials and support staff, and volunteers involved in the event.

William caught some of the final stages of the TT Supersport Race 2 before heading to a reception in the Government House Tent, where he met race staff and volunteers, civic dignitaries and representatives of local businesses.

He also spent time with the Joey Dunlop Foundation charity, which provides specialist accommodation for visitors to the Isle of Man with a disability.

In addition to his love of motorcycling, William would have flown near the race’s location while patrolling the Irish Sea on missions with the RAF Search and Rescue crews based at Anglesey. He once picked up a stricken sailor from the sea near the island.

The prince recently had the chance to test drive a bike during a visit to the headquarters of Triumph Motorcycles. There, he slipped a reflective jacket on over his blazer and sweater for a quick ride on the Triumph Tiger 1200. He also got to pose on a vintage model.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Official Wedding Portraits Were Just Released!

Picture perfect!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating the end of their royal wedding weekend with the release of their official wedding portraits on Monday.

Taken in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle after the royal couple’s magical carriage procession, the portraits were shot by fashion photographer, Alexi Lubomirski, who took the couple’s dreamy engagement photos at Frogmore House in Windsor late last year.

The first photo is an epic gathering of the entire royal family (minus 4-week-old Prince Louis, who stayed home at the palace!), the little bridal party and Meghan’s proud mother, Doria Ragland.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would like to thank everyone who took part in the celebrations of their wedding on Saturday. They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and also all those who watched the wedding on television across the U.K., Commonwealth, and around the world,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said.

“Their Royal Highnesses are delighted with these official portraits taken by Alexi Lubomirski and are happy to be able to share them today. They would also like to say thank you for all of the generous messages of support they have received.”

Also featured in the photo set is a picture of just Harry and Meghan with their adorable page boys and bridesmaids. Led by the couple’s niece and nephew, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the eight other children include several of Harry and Meghan’s godchildren and children of their friends: Florence van Cutsem, 3; Remi Litt, 6 and her sister Rylan, 7; Ivy Mulroney, 4; Zalie Warren, 2; Jasper Dyer, 6; and twins Brian and John Mulroney, 7.

The bride and groom themselves posed for a romantic black-and-white photo featuring just the two of them. Taken just moments after they tied the knot, the love and happiness they felt on the day is evident on their smiling faces.

“It has been an incredible honor and privilege to document The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s inspiring journey of love, hope and family; from the engagement photos, all the way through to the official wedding and family portraits on Saturday,” Lubomirski said in a statement. “This has been a beautiful chapter in my career and life, that I will happily never forget.”

At the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the official portraits of the couple and the bridal party were taken by Hugo Burnand. Burnand was also on hand to shoot the official pictures for the wedding of Prince Charles to Camilla Parker-Bowles six years earlier.

The littlest royal flower girls were dressed the part in floral crowns and white dresses, while the page boys dressed in miniature versions of the Blues and Royals frockcoat, mirroring Harry’s military ensemble for the big day.

Meghan Markle Will Walk Down the Aisle Solo Before Meeting Prince Charles Halfway to the Altar

When Meghan Markle makes her historic walk down the aisle of St. George’s Chapel on Saturday, she’ll be starting it off solo, PEOPLE confirms.

After arriving by car with her mom, Doria Ragland, the bride-to-be will be greeted by her little bridal party members (including Prince George and Princess Charlotte!), who will lead the way down the aisle as Meghan takes her first steps to the altar by herself.

She will then be met by her future father-in-law, Prince Charles, who will be waiting for her at the halfway mark to escort her the rest of the way to the altar. The length of the aisle is about 110 steps, and more than half of those will be taken solo by Meghan.

It’s the event of the year! Be sure to keep up with all of PEOPLE’s royal wedding coverage and don’t forget to check out everything you need to know about Meghan Markle’s perfect style.

Charles is stepping into the role in place of Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, who is unable to come to the royal wedding.

“It was Meghan’s wish and she is grateful for the Prince of Wales to be doing it,” a royal source tells PEOPLE.

Don’t miss out! Tune in to Meghan and Harry – a Fairy-Tale Wedding on Saturday, May 19, starting at 6 a.m. ET/ 3 a.m. PT on PeopleTV — now available on and on your favorite streaming device.

The royal bride-to-be asked Charles to take over the duty in the last 24 hours, since it was revealed that her father was not able to attend.

It was always Meghan’s “wish” to conduct the first portion of the walk by herself and then be met by her dad for the final steps to the altar, the royal source says. Now, Charles will greet her at the Quire (the last section of the church, where the immediate members of the royal family and close relatives will likely be seated) and walk her to the end of the aisle where Prince Harry will be standing.

Prince Harry and Meghan Are Upholding a ‘Very Important’ Tradition Involving the Wedding Dress!

They may be getting married in front of the entire world, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are just like brides and grooms everywhere when it comes to certain traditions.

The future newlyweds are avoiding the bad luck superstition of the groom seeing the bride in her dress before the ceremony. In a press briefing on Friday, the palace confirmed that the first time Harry will see Meghan in her wedding gown will be when she walks down the aisle.

“That tradition is very important to them,” a palace spokesman said.

Harry and Meghan will also be spending the night before their wedding apart. And they will stay at Windsor Castle on the night of their wedding.

While details of her dress are being kept under wraps, the couple has revealed that Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, will be walking her down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel on May 19.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, will travel with her daughter by car to Windsor Castle the morning of the wedding.

“Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion,” the palace announced.

There are several royal family traditions Meghan will also consider for her wedding. Every royal bride since 1858 has carried a sprig of myrtle — the “herb of love” — in her wedding bouquet. The royal family has also been using pure Welsh gold for their wedding rings ever since the Queen Mother’s wedding in 1923.

And while most brides honor the tradition of throwing the bouquet, Meghan’s floral posy (by Phillippa Craddock) will very likely end up in Westminster Abbey, rather than in the hands of one of her bridesmaids. Most royal brides (including Kate Middleton and Princess Diana) have sent their floral bouquets back to the Abbey to rest on the Grave of the Unknown Soldier, a place of remembrance for fallen soldiers since 1920.

Prince Harry at the Finish Line! The Royal Groom-to-Be Supports Runners at the London Marathon

Prince Harry was the No. 1 cheerleader at Sunday’s London Marathon.

There to show his support, Harry cheered on runners before handing out prizes to the winners of the elite men, women, wheelchair and IPC races.

He also had a chance to chat with members of the marathon’s staff, as well as the on-site first aid team from St. John Ambulance.

Harry attended the marathon as part of his role as patron for the London Marathon Charitable Trust. It’s his third year in a row attending the annual event, though this time, he did it so solo — in 2017, Harry had brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton by his side.

Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Not Inviting Barack and Michelle Obama to Their Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are keeping politics out of their upcoming royal wedding.

“It has been decided that an official list of political leaders – both U.K. and international – is not required for Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding. Her Majesty’s Government was consulted on this decision, which was taken by The Royal Household,” a Kensington Palace spokesman said Tuesday.

Their decision to omit world leaders from their guest list means former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama will not be attending the May 19 ceremony at Windsor Castle, PEOPLE understands.

While Harry and Meghan have become close to the couple (these photos of BFFs Harry and Michelle are proof!), their guest list is being reserved for long-standing friends they have known for years.

Even though Barack and Michelle won’t be at their wedding, Harry and Meghan have plans to visit with the Obamas in the near future.

“Both the couples look forward to seeing each other soon,” adds a royal source.

Harry has become close to Michelle in recent years through their mutual work on behalf of veterans. Barack also supported Harry’s Invictus Games in Toronto last September.

The absence of dignitaries at the wedding also means President Donald Trump and senior British politicians will not be invited.

“Those in attendance will be people who one or both of the couple has a existing direct relationship with,” adds a royal source.

Whereas royal heir Prince William‘s wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011 had world leaders and dignitaries in attendance, a similar list of prominent guests is “not required” for Harry, who is currently fifth-in-line to the throne (and soon to be sixth with the birth of William and Kate’s third child later this month). If there are senior members of other royal families invited to the wedding, it will be because Harry has a close relationship with them.

Insiders also note that William and Kate wed in the grand Westminster Abbey in front of about 1,900 invitees, but Harry and Meghan’s venue at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle is much smaller and will have around 600 guests. “It will still be a royal wedding and an important occasion,” the royal source adds.

The palace also released the names of some of the lucky 1,200 members of the public who have been invited from around the U.K. to the grounds of Windsor Castle for an up-close view of their wedding day. The special guests were chosen from “young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities,” the palace says in a statement.

Another 200 guests will come from charities linked with Meghan and Harry, including WellChild for seriously ill kids and the Invictus Games for sick and injured veterans and serving military members. There will also be 100 children from two local schools – the Royal School, situated in the Great Park of Windsor, and St. George’s School, below the castle.

Ailing Prince Philip, 96, Misses Easter Church Service with Queen Elizabeth and Royal Family

Prince Philip, who has been suffering from a hip problem, missed the second major royal public event in a week — the Easter services alongside Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle on Sunday.

The prince, 96, was conspicuously absent, as the Queen, 91, had most of her family around her for Easter day celebration at St. George’s Chapel today.

On Thursday, he was not able to attend the traditional Maundy service, which was also held at St. George’s Chapel — the wedding venue for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19.

“The Order of Service was printed some weeks ago when it was hoped the Duke would be able to take part,” a palace spokesperson said on Thursday.

Philip had intended to go to the Maundy service but made the decision not to attend because he has been experiencing some “trouble with his hip,” a royal source added.

Philip retired from public life last year, and it was said then that he might appear at public events alongside his wife of 70 years, the Queen.

Much of the royal family did, however, join the Queen on Sunday — including Prince William and pregnant Kate Middleton, in what is likely her last public appearance before welcoming the couple’s third child later this month.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Visited a Castle Today and the Photos Are a Fairy Tale Come True!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said a big “prynhawn da” (good afternoon in Welsh!) to Wales on Thursday, where cheering crowds welcomed them to the capital city of Cardiff.

The newly engaged couple stepped out at Cardiff Castle, a 2,000-year-old historic site that features Rapunzel-worthy towers and opulent interiors. The visit marked the latest milestone in the ongoing introduction of Meghan to the British public in the countdown to the royal wedding on May 19. Meghan honored the locale by pairing her black Stella McCartney coat with pants by Welsh brand Hiut Denim.

The couple was all smiles as they held hands while they greeted the crowds gathered outside the castle.

Harry, 33, and the L.A.-raised Meghan, 36, were greeted by well-wishers before being given a taste of modern Welsh life and traditional culture. Among those pressed against the barrier — and displaying her American flag — was Julie Hoefer, 31, from Dundas, Va.

“We don’t have a royal family in America, and the whole idea is amazing,” she said. “And now we have one who joined the family — finally. It is super exciting.”

She hopes the flag will catch the couple’s eye so that they say hello. “That’s the goal,” says Hoefer, who teaches in Kuwait and is in the U.K. on vacation. Next to them was Cynthia Osborne, a retired nurse from Cardiff. She wrapped a Welsh flag around her red Stetson-style hat and held a bunch of daffodils, the national flower of Wales.

“Meghan looks lovely, a breath of fresh air,” said Osborne. “She sparkles — and I’d like to see the ring to see if it sparkles.”

The castle gates were thrown open to the public at 9 a.m., enabling as many as people as possible to join the crowds. Meghan and Harry’s last outing was in Brixton on January 9, and they are expected to make several more before their Windsor Castle wedding.

Earlier, Cardiff’s city council leader Huw Thomas said they were delighted to “extend a warm Welsh welcome” to the couple, adding, “Their visit will aim to showcase some of the rich heritage and culture that we are very proud of here in Cardiff.”

After the excitement of the crowds, the couple watched performances from musicians and poets, met some famous local athletes and learn about the bodies that promote the Welsh language and cultural identity.

Their second outing in the capital was scheduled at Star Hub, a community and leisure center in the eastern suburb of Tremorfa where they were set to hear how the center helps young people excel through sports. It is a key area of Harry’s public work and the charity StreetGames, which the prince has regularly worked with, will show off some of their local programs.

The Surprising Story Behind Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s Recreated Honeymoon Photo

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are celebrating their 70th milestone wedding anniversary with the release of stunning new portraits, but it was on their 60th anniversary that they shared an even more touching photo.

The longtime royal couple recreated a photo they took on their honeymoon in November 1947 down to the very last detail. But what made the 2007 photo all the more sweet was the fact that it was entirely their idea!

When photographer Tim Graham met the royal couple underneath a large tree within the grounds of Broadlands in Hampshire, he found them studying the original photograph and positioning themselves in the same stances, according to British author Robert Lacey, who is the historical consultant on The Crown.

Sixty years after the original photo was taken, the Queen hooks her right hand through her husband’s arm as he gazes lovingly at his bride. And the monarch has the same sweet smile on her face all those decades later.

And the Queen definitely did her homework! In addition to the couple wearing almost identical outfits, the monarch is also sporting a strikingly similar brooch and necklace in both photos.

The newlyweds spent the first part of their honeymoon at Broadlands House in Hampshire, which was owned by Philip’s uncle, Lord Mountbatten. They then traveled to Birkhall Lodge, which is on Balmoral estate in Scotland.

As they gather to mark the 70th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth, 91, and Prince Philip, 96, at Windsor Castle on Nov. 20 with a private dinner, the royal family will toast the latest amazing milestone in a lifetime of records.

Prince Albert’s Toddler Twins Steal the Show at Monaco’s National Day Ceremony

Monaco’s littlest royals, 2-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, joined their parents Prince Albert and Princess Charlene to celebrate National Day on Sunday, appearing twice to the joy of the gathered crowd.

Jacques’ blond head was visible just above the balustrade as the windows opened amid the ceremony. Beside him, his sister Princess Gabriella danced to the military band, occasionally throwing kisses and waving to the crowd.

While Prince Albert took salutes in the palace forecourt below from the carabineri — Monaco’s soldiers, celebrating their 200th anniversary — Princess Charlene doted on Jacques, primping his new haircut.

Princess Charlene was dressed for the occasion in a deep blue coat with a wide-brimmed hat, while her mini-me Gabriella sported a dress decorated in flowers.

Watch Prince William’s Tearful Meeting with Teen Who Attempted Suicide: ‘It’s So Personal’

Prince William took on a therapist-style role as he hosted a moving video with a mother who lost her son, and a teen who contemplated suicide over cyberbullying.

The women, who were the prince’s guests at Kensington Palace, spoke to the royal dad about their deep traumas following the consequences of online abuse.

The film reveals William’s motivation for his taskforce on cyberbullying. Mom Lucy Alexander and teen Chloe Hine both contributed to the taskforce’s investigation over the last 18 months.

After the birth of his son, Prince George, William heard about a young boy “who had killed himself following a vicious campaign of online bullying,” a Kensington Palace statement says. “As he looked into the issue further it was soon clear there were many similar stories from the UK and around the world.”

He was then inspired to set up the ambitious taskforce, which brings together tech and media companies.

Last year, Lucy Alexander shared the story about her son, Felix, who took his own life following online abuse. She started her own campaign to raise awareness of the issues in an effort to ensure no other parents would suffer the heartbreak of losing a child to online bullies. “ read Lucy’s story and asked her to be one of the parents to help the taskforce better understand the impact of cyberbullying,” the statement adds.

RELATED VIDEO: Prince William Condemns ‘Barbaric’ Illegal Wildlife Trade

In the video, which ends with William giving both women a compassionate hug, Lucy Alexander says, “I sort of feel that Felix has given me a job to do – and my job is to make sure that we try and help as many other people like him.”

Chloe Hine, who was a member of William’s Taskforce Youth Panel, attempted to take her own life at 13 years old after being attacked online. She explains in the video that it was while writing a goodbye note that she found comfort in the ability to express what she had been unable to say in person. “On social media you can’t escape it, you’re constantly with that bully. People just turned against me because they thought ‘she said this one thing this one time so let’s all hate her for that’, and it just spiraled out of control from there.”

She continues: “It’s written down, so it’s there to look back at, time and time again. And if you’re in a negative space, that’s all you can see. You look for the negativity and you look for the cruel things.”

William brought together some of the world’s most recognizable names in media and tech, such as Apple, Facebook, Google, Twitter and online media companies, as well as children’s charities and parents, to work alongside the panel of young people to find ways to tackle cyberbullying.

On Thursday, William is set to unveil the results of his taskforce, which was chaired by tech entrepreneur Brent Hoberman.

Prince Exhibition to Open in London

THE WORLD OF PRINCE: The belongings of pop star Prince will be the subject of a new exhibition, opening in London’s O2 arena in October.
From world-famous items such as the orange Cloud guitar from his Super Bowl halftime performance or the purple jacket and ruffled shirt from the “Purple Rain” tour to never-before-seen artifacts taken from Paisley Park, his estate outside Minneapolis, the exhibition will offer an intimate look into the legendary performer’s life.
Prince’s sister, Tyka Nelson, highlighted the Cloud guitar as one of the standout pieces in the collection. She told the British newspaper Evening Standard that “[even though] people always associate the color purple with Prince, his favorite color was actually orange.”
Nelson chose the British capital as the location for the first exhibition centered on her brother since it was the city that accepted the musician the most. He performed at the O2 arena for 21 consecutive nights in 2007. The exhibition, titled “My Name Is Prince” will run next to the same arena for 21 days.
Nelson added that by staging the exhibition, she is aiming to fulfill her brother’s wish of opening up his world to the public: “It was always his wish to make all

Prince William Says He Felt Princess Diana’s Presence at His Wedding: I ‘Felt She Was There for Me’

The world may have lost Princess Diana nearly 20 years ago, but Prince William says his late mother was with him on one of the biggest days of his life: the day he wed Princess Kate.

William, 35, speaks candidly about his late mother in the upcoming ITV and HBO  documentary, Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, in which he reveals he felt Diana’s presence during the 2011 wedding.

“When it came to the wedding, I did really feel that she was there,” he says. “You know, there was times when you look to someone or something for strength and I very much felt she was there for me.”

Along with William, 32-year-old Prince Harry opens up about his late mother in the special which airs ahead of the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death in a Paris car crash. The royals have expressed how difficult it is to talk about the death, and William has even vowed, “We won’t speak as openly and as publicly about her again.”

“It’s one thing doing a documentary like this and it’s another thing standing front of all of you guys and explaining about something very personal to you,” he said during a recent discussion with reporters — including PEOPLE — at Kensington Palace.

“Nevertheless, I think it’s very important that I’m here to do that.”

The princes, who were 15 and 12 respectively when Diana died, also expressed their regret over their last conversations with their mother.

“If I’d known that that was the last time I was going to speak to my mother the things that I would – the things I would have said to her,” Harry says in the documentary. The brothers last spoke to Diana in a telephone call while they stayed in Balmoral with their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and father Prince Charles.

Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy will air Monday, August 31, at  10 p.m. on HBO in the U.S. and 9 p.m. in the U.K. on ITV.

The show is one of several commemorations of the Princess in print and on film. PEOPLE and ABC have partnered in a two-night television event The Story of Diana, airing on Aug. 9 and 10 at 9 p.m. ET.

Prince Harry Says Young People Spend Too Much Time on Phones: Let’s ‘Process Our Thoughts’ Instead

Prince Harry says the mental health campaign that he started alongside Prince William and Princess Kate is beginning to “shift the dial” — and on Thursday, he also highlighted a current concern of modern life.

“I cannot tell you how pleased William, Catherine and I are that the dial seems to have shifted and that there is now greater understanding, compassion and kindness for anyone who opens up about their struggles,” he said in a speech at a mental health event in Leeds in northern England. “But let’s not kid ourselves that the job is done — there is much, much more that we can do at every level to make conversations about mental health as common place as those about physical health.”

Harry, William and Kate set up Heads Together to promote mental-health awareness and support in April 2016. On Thursday, Harry noted the extreme amount of time people spend on their phones.

“I read recently that young people check their phones at least 150 times per day – I’m sure we could all be more effective and efficient if we took a moment to process our thoughts rather than rushing from one thing to the next,” he said.

Also on Thursday the prince, 32, followed a stadium to watch kids play rugby league in a bid to help encourage more than 700,000 children from primary and secondary schools playing the game.

They are taking part in a festival of seven-a-side touch rugby league games, coached by current England players and local coaches from the Leeds Rhinos Foundation. It is Harry’s first engagement in his new role as Royal Patron of the Rugby Football League.

Harry’s two-day tour of Leeds will continue on Friday, when he is scheduled to visit a children’s hospital as well as the home of a seriously ill 5-year-old boy who is being supported by WellChild, another of Harry’s key charities.

Camilla Reveals She Was a Prisoner in Her Own Home After Prince Charles Affair Reveal: ‘It Was Horrid’

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is opening up about her highly publicized affair with Prince Charles — and how the intense press scrutiny eft her feeling like a prisoner in her own home.

In a candid interview with The Mail on Sunday‘s You magazine, the royal recalled the media storm surrounding her relationship with the Prince of Wales, an affair that occurred while she was still married to her first husband Andrew Parker-Bowles and Charles was still married to the late Princess Diana.

“I couldn’t really go anywhere. But the children came and went as normal — they just got on with it, and so did great friends,” the 69-year-old said. She later added: “It was horrid. It was a deeply unpleasant time and I wouldn’t want to put my worst enemy through it. I couldn’t have survived it without my family.”

Camilla’s relationship with Charles, 68, has long been a topic of discussion, with many Princess Diana supporters blaming Camilla for the pair’s strained relationship. (Diana also admitted to having affairs of her own while married to Charles but had said she was most upset by her husband’s closeness with his former flame Camilla.)

Charles and Camilla first dated after being introduced in 1971, launching a decades-long love affair. The love birds split in 1973 and Camilla soon married Parker-Bowles. However, Charles and Camilla eventually rekindled their romance. They began an on-again, off-again relationship with Parker-Bowles turning a blind eye. The two remained married until 1995 and had two children together, food critic Tom Parker-Bowles and art curator Laura Lopes.

Charles separated from Diana in 1992 and the pair officially divorced in 1996.

Despite the scandal surrounding their affair — especially after the death of Diana in 1997 — Charles and Camilla eventually got married in 2005. Now, the Duchess of Cornwall says she hardly recognizes herself in such a royal role.

“You also have to laugh at yourself because if you can’t, you may as well give up. I sometimes think to myself, ‘Who is this woman? It can’t possibly be me.’ And that’s really how you survive,” she said.

“Also, having so many friends who, if I ever even vaguely look like getting uppity, which touch wood I never have, they would just say, ‘Look, come on, pull yourself together! Don’t be so bloody grand!’ ”

She was not ill-prepared for royal life, though. Camilla said she has her upbringing in the British gentry to thank for her ability to adapt.

“Thank goodness I was brought up with the grounding of my parents, and taught manners. It sounds, especially in this day and age, sort of snobbish, but we left school at 16, nobody went on to university unless you were a real brainbox,” she said.

“Instead, we went to Paris and Florence and learned about life and culture and how to behave with people, how to talk to people. This was very ingrained in my upbringing and if I hadn’t had that, I would have found royal life much more difficult.”

Reunited! Prince Harry and Barack Obama Meet Up at Kensington Palace

Look who’s back!

On Saturday, former President Barack Obama met up with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace — where Harry lives in London — for an informal chat. The visit came a little over one year after Obama’s headline-making visit to the Palace where he met with Harry, Princess Kate, Prince William and a bathrobe-wearing Prince George.

The two  discussed “a range of shared interests,” a palace spokesperson said in a statement — including “support for veterans, mental health, conservation, empowering young people and the work of their respective foundations.”

Obama, 55, also offered his condolences to the victims and support for those recovering from injuries from Monday’s tragic attack in Manchester, that left 22 people killed and 119 injured from an explosive device detonated by a suicide bomber moments after an Ariana Grande concert ended.

On Tuesday, the former president tweeted about the attack, writing “Our hearts go out to those killed and wounded in Manchester. Americans will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of the UK.”

He also wrote about his meeting with Harry on Saturday, tweeting “Good to see my friend Prince Harry in London to discuss the work of our foundations & offer condolences to victims of the Manchester attack.”

It’s been thirteen months since Harry, William and Kate hosted Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama for a private dinner at the Palace.

The special evening – which followed lunch at Buckingham Palace with the Queen – was arranged by William on behalf of all three royals, and “they were delighted that were able to accept,” a palace source told PEOPLE at the time.

“The three of them have built up a relationship with the president and first lady over the years,” the source added.

Indeed they have. Kate and William first met the Obamas at Buckingham Palace in 2011 just after the royal wedding. It was their first joint engagement as a married couple.

In 2014, William visited the Oval Office, where he and then-President Obama discussed the campaign to clamp down on illegal wildlife trafficking.

Harry has his own special relationship with the Michelle. Last June, he hosted the First Lady and First Daughters Malia and Sasha – along with grandma Marian Robinson – for tea at Kensington Palace. Then in October, it was the the Obamas’ turn to play hosts to a visiting Harry, where the chemistry between Michelle and the royal was on adorable display.

The two reunited once again in May, when they teamed up in Orlando for Harry’s Invictus Games for veterans.

“I have to say that the most precious thing – if you haven’t already fallen in love – is to see him with his nephew,” Michelle told ABC News’ Robin Roberts of Harry after kicking off the Games.

Royal Trouble! Prince George Sobs After Getting Scolded by Kate at Pippa Middleton’s Wedding

There are usually a few tears at a wedding, and Pippa Middleton’s nuptials to financier James Matthews on Saturday were no exception.

Prince George, who served as a page boy for his aunt’s big day, appeared to cry after the ceremony at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield. According to reports, the 3-year-old royal was seen sobbing outside for a brief moment.

Determined to ensure nothing dampened the mood of her sister’s wedding day, Princess Kate was pictured giving her son a scolding. Photos showed Prince George pouting, seemingly embarrassed by the situation, but he perked up again soon after.

A video of the bride and groom leaving the church appears to show Kate having a strong word with George after he wanders behind Pippa and can be seen playing with her dress as she makes her big exit.

All eyes were on Prince George and 2-year-old Princess Charlotte, who served as a bridesmaid at the royal affair.

Proud parents Prince William and Kate watched as their royal toddlers, who were dressed in adorable outfits by Pepa and Co., prepared to make their way down the aisle.

After the ceremony, wedding guests told reporters that the children in the bridal party were “very” well-behaved during the ceremony. Unfortunately for George, it looks like he got into a bit of mischief afterwards!

Charlotte wore an ivory silk dress with a frilled collar, a nude pink sash and matching trim across the sleeves and neckline with hand-embroidered detailing. The bodice featured a vintage style lace panel and the dress carried a net petticoat with lace trim underneath. She also wore ivory opaque tights, beige soft leather shoes and a floral headband.

George wore an ivory double-breasted silk pleated shirt with Peter Pan collar and coordinating trim detail paired with knickerbockers in pale olive Vienne silk and a matching cummerbund.

George adorably channeled dad William, who was a page boy in his uncle Prince Andrew’s wedding to Sarah Ferguson in 1986.

No doubt mom Kate passed along a few helpful tips to her 2-year-old daughter before the big day. She and Pippa made an adorable pair of bridesmaids as little girls in their uncle wedding ceremony in 1991.

Pippa, 33, and Matthews, 41, became engaged in July 2016. The longtime couple has a “deep desire” to disappear from the spotlight in the longer term, a source told PEOPLE.

Another source said they are looking forward to settling down and “having children and leading a quiet life.”

Prince George And Princess Charlotte Steal The Show At Pippa Middleton’s Wedding

In a twist that should shock no one, all eyes were on Prince George and Princess Charlotte at their aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding Saturday.

Prince William’s sister-in-law looked absolutely stunning in a a high neck, lace Giles Deacon gown with a long train and bespoke veil, but his tiny children gave her a run for her money doing their duties as page boy and bridesmaid.

Charlotte looked adorable in a white short-sleeved dress with a big pink bow and floral head piece. George, who is getting bigger every day, looked oh-so-dapper in a white collared shirt and short trousers.

The former Kate Middleton, who looked beautiful in a long-sleeved, pale pink dress with a matching fascinator, reportedly expressed some concern on Tuesday over how her little ones would behave during the nuptials. From the looks of it, though, all they did was manage to look even cuter than usual.

Perhaps they’ll be reprising these roles for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding next? We can only dream.

32 Vintage Photos Of Prince Philip Looking SO Sharp

It’s official: Prince Philip is retiring. Buckingham Palace announced Thursday morning that starting this fall, the 96-year-old Duke of Edinburgh will stop carrying out public engagements.

When it comes to style recognition, Philip, who is best known for his one-liners, often takes a back seat to Queen Elizabeth II or younger British royals like the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

But just like his wife, Philip has always had a strong sense of style, whether on official occasions, during polo matches or, you know, hanging out with the Beatles. He was named one of GQ UK’s best-dressed men in Britain in 2014, but his dapper days go way further back.

Although we’ll be seeing less of this long-serving consort, we have plenty of opportunities to both honor him and take style major style inspiration from his life by way of these amazing vintage photos. Check out 32 of our favorite looks below.

Britain’s Prince Philip To Step Down From Royal Duties

LONDON, May 4 (Reuters) – Prince Philip, the 95-year-old husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, is to retire from carrying out royal engagements later this year, Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday.

The prince, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh who has been by his wife’s side throughout her 65 years on the throne, had decided he would cease public duties from autumn, the palace said in a statement.

The queen, the world’s longest-reigning living monarch who celebrated her 91st birthday in April, will continue to carry out a full program of official engagements, it added.

The announcement was made following a meeting of senior royal staff at Buckingham Palace, news of which prompted speculation about the health of the royals.

However, a well-placed source said there was no cause for concern about the welfare of the queen or Philip, who turns 96 next month.

The couple, who are due to celebrate their platinum, or 70th, wedding anniversary in November have been cutting their workload in recent years, passing on many responsibilities to son and heir Prince Charles, and grandsons, Princes William and Harry.

Both carried out official duties on Wednesday, with Elizabeth meeting Prime Minister Theresa May to formally agree to the dissolution of parliament ahead of June’s election while Philip opened a new stand at Lord’s Cricket Ground in central London.

Zachary Quinto Says Goodbye to ‘True Prince’ Noah the Dog

Zachary Quinto wrote a heartbreaking tribute to Noah, his beloved canine pal of more than a decade, who passed away “surrounded by love” this week.

“Anyone who has ever truly known me in the last 14 years has known this true prince. Noah has been by my side through up and down. Thick and thin. Feast and famine,” read an Instagram post shared by the actor. “In loving him I learned to love myself more fully. He taught me compassion and patience and generosity … and oh how he made me laugh.”

The post — which has received more than 48,000 reactions from followers so far — touched the hearts of anyone who’s ever loved a pet, and likely inspired the rest to consider a new friend.

“He made friends wherever he went,” it continued. “His spirit was pure. His love was legend. I am a better person for having had him in my life. But tonight we had to let him go. Surrounded by love he went to sleep. And may he forever rest in peace.”

The actor’s Instagram feed is filled with adorable memories of the shaggy pooch, whom Quinto told PEOPLE in 2009 was a frequent running companion.

An Instagram of a country outing last October in New York depicted Quinto’s partner Miles McMillan, who shared his own farewell to the pup this week, holding the dog in his arms.

“We had to say goodbye to our dear sweet Noah last night,” McMillan wrote on Instagram.”He was surrounded by love flowers and music. I’ll always remember his big grin and how happy he always was to get a little lovin’.”

Prince Harry Reveals How Counseling Helped Him Cope With Diana’s Death

In a surprisingly candid interview, Britain’s Prince Harry has revealed his struggles in the wake of Princess Diana’s death in 1997.

The 32-year-old prince told The Telegraph that his way of dealing with his mother’s sudden death in a car accident in Paris was to simply shut down his emotions.

“I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well,” said Harry.

He added: “My way of dealing with it was sticking my head in the sand, refusing to ever think about my mum because why would that help? It’s only going to make you sad. It’s not going to bring her back.”

By the time he was in his 20s, Harry said he felt like he was going to explode.

“I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything are coming to you from every angle,” he said.

Harry spoke about his experiences as part of The Telegraph’s series of “Mad World” podcasts about how people grapple with mental health issues. The prince participated in order to battle the stigma surrounding opening up about personal problems and to encourage people to get help.

Harry and his brother and sister-in-law, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have also set up the charity Heads Together to promote mental health.

Harry gained a reputation known as the wild brother, particularly after photos of his nude hijinks in a Las Vegas hotel room came to light in 2012. But now he’s involved in numerous charitable projects such as supporting the Invictus Games for wounded warriors, working to eliminate hidden land mines, encouraging HIV testing and helping to save elephants in Africa.

As for his emotional struggles, including two years of “total chaos,” Harry said he finally sought counseling at the age of 28 and started opening up about his feelings. He also said boxing lessons helped after he came very close to “punching someone.” Now, he’s in a “good place.”

Harry encouraged others to learn from his struggles.

“The experience I have had is that once you start talking about it, you realize that actually you’re part of quite a big club,” he said.

Aunt Viv Of ‘Fresh Prince’ Calls Co-Star A ‘Media Hoe’ After Reunion Photo

This sitcom feud just got refreshed.

The day after a photo emerged of the cast of “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” reuniting at the beach, one left-out actress lashed out big-time.

Janet Hubert, who played Aunt Vivian for three seasons before tensions led to her departure, wrote a scathing message Tuesday on Facebook in which she called Carlton Banks actor Alfonso Ribeiro a “media hoe” and an “ass wipe” for star Will Smith. She also pledged to up her efforts to pitch to Hollywood her memoir about the “behind the scenes story” of the show.

Here’s a screenshot of a portion of the post:

There is no love lost between Hubert and Smith and Co. She was replaced on “Fresh Prince” by Daphne Maxwell Reid in 1993. Reid appeared in this week’s viral picture of the beaming cast.

Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family. Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete.

A post shared by Alfonso Ribeiro (@therealalfonsoribeiro) on

Smith told an Atlanta radio station in 1993 that Hubert “wanted the show to be ‘The Aunt Viv of Bel-Air Show’ because I know she is going to dog me in the press.”

The snipes have erupted from time to time over the years. In 2016, Hubert even slammed Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, for urging a boycott of the Oscars to protest the lack of nominations for people of color.

A Farm Boy Meets His Prince In A Beautiful New Children’s Book

A powerful new children’s book is telling the story of a farm boy and prince who meet, build a friendship and eventually fall in love in the face of adversity.

Promised Land, by authors Adam Reynolds and Chaz Harris, borrows elements from classic fairy tales and utilizes them in a queer and empowering framework. Not only is the book presenting a same-sex love story in an accessible and understandable way, but it also bucks the “damsel in distress” narrative by having the central female character, a queen, be the one to save herself.

“The [kinds of media] we consume as kids and young adults form our attitudes towards those around us,” Harris told The Huffington Post. “Most importantly, they influence our attitudes towards ourselves. If you don’t see yourself in stories, you don’t see yourself in the world and I believe that lack of visibility creates the kind of ‘otherness’ we often experience as LGBTQ+ people. If we can be heroes in stories, we’re seen more positively in the real world.”

The book, which is set in a kingdom where all people are equal no matter what they look like or who they love, is also dedicated to those affected by the Pulse nightclub massacre that killed 49 queer people, most of color, and their allies in June 2016.

“I remember when Ellen spoke at the vigil of Matthew Shepard and said ‘This is what I was trying to stop!’ Harris continued. “That was how it felt to us. After it was reported the man responsible for the Pulse massacre had said the image of two men kissing disgusted him so much that it had motivated the attack, our book ends with that image. We felt it was important that the lives that we lost could be forever remembered with a message of love and hope.”

As for the future, Harris and Reynolds both hope to continue producing work that tells diverse and queer stories.

“We do hope to be able to bring more stories to life that feature protagonists beyond gay characters, that just seemed the most obvious starting point for us,” Reynolds told HuffPost. “We’d likely do this in collaboration with writers who represent those authentic voices though. Why not? There’s a whole Kingdom to explore!”

A pre-oder of the paperback edition of Promised Land is now available.

Prince Harry Really Knows How To Rock A Casual Look

Like a fine wine, it appears Prince Harry just keeps getting better (and better dressed) with age.

Harry attended a mental health conference in London Thursday dressed sharply in a gray jacket, white button-front shirt and blue pants. It’s not necessarily a bold or fresh new look, but he definitely wears it well.

Just look at the fit on this thing.

Harry met with former armed services members and one particularly adorable assistance dog, who made us realize for the first time ever that Harry is basically a human golden retriever: handsome, eager and slightly red-headed.

We’re not implying that girlfriend Meghan Markle dressed him for the occasion, but she does star on a show called “Suits.” Just saying.

The First Photo Of Prince Harry With Meghan Markle Is Here, And It’s Adorable

You’ve seen the Instagram posts, spotted the friendship bracelets and read Prince Harry’s noble defense of his girlfriend.

Now, at last, you can see first photos of the prince and “Suits” actress Meghan Markle together in public for the first time.

The Sun snapped the couple braving the brisk British weather in beanies on Wednesday evening, as they headed for the play “The Curious Incident of the Dog at the Nighttime” at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End.

The 32-year-old prince and Markle, 35, appeared relaxed as they walked “hand in hand.” And they didn’t care much that someone was photographing them, according to the British tabloid.

The lovebirds even shopped for a Christmas tree together, The Sun reports.

Markle is reportedly staying with Harry at his two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

The actress flew from her home in Toronto to London on Sunday to see her prince charming. The two are also planning a getaway vacation.

They’ve reportedly been dating for about five months after meeting in May in Canada, where Harry was promoting the Invictus Games, the athletic competition he founded for injured military vets.

At first, they kept it relatively quiet, though both were spotted wearing the same blue-beaded bracelet. Markle posted a few shots of herself with the wrist bauble on Instagram.

And then there was this:

In November, Harry warned the press to stop harassing “his girlfriend,” who’s been stalked by paparazzi, citing safety concerns. The prince was “deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her,” according to a statement from Kensington Palace. The statement also called out the “outright sexism and racism of social media trolls.”

This is why Harry is our favorite prince.

Prince William Appears on Talk Show in Vietnam: ‘We Are Falling Behind on Saving Wildlife’

Prince William made an impassioned speech at an international wildlife conference during his visit to Vietnam on Thursday, calling on the British government to ban imported ivory.

William, who is in the country for the first time as part of his campaign to clamp down on illegal wildlife trade, said that he feared campaigners weren’t making progress quickly enough.

“The truth is we are still falling behind,” he told delegates. “A betting man would still bet on extinction.”

He said that China has already “signalled a total ban, the USA has instituted one, and other nations including the United Kingdom are considering it.”

He added, “We know now what previous generations did not – ivory treated as a commodity is the fuel of extinction. Ivory is not something to be desired and when removed from an elephant it is not beautiful. So, the question is, why are we still trading it? We need governments to send a clear signal that trading in ivory is abhorrent.”

He praised the Vietnamese government for carrying out its first burning of illegally traded rhino horn and ivory last weekend and hailed how far the movement had come since two years ago when the first International Conference on the Illegal Wildlife Trade convened in London.

“Since then we have seen unprecedented partnership between African governments to work together to fight poaching through the Elephant Protection Initiative,” he remarked.

And William, who is patron of Tusk Trust and shares his passion for protecting wildlife with his brother Prince Harry, highlighted how the transportation industry was coordinating actions to clamp down on trafficking routes.

But he added, “There is much to be proud of and I want to make sure we take confidence from what has been achieved. We are on the right side of history.

“But here is the problem: we know that we aren’t moving fast enough to keep up with the crisis. Rhinos, elephants, pangolin, lions  — they are all still being killed in horrifying numbers.

“The Great Elephant Census published this summer confirmed our worst fears about the shocking 30 percent decline in the African elephant population in just seven years.”

The prince said he wants to to halt the demand for the wildlife parts in a part of the world that fuels the trade.

He also filmed an interview with a local chat show on Thursday. Interviewed by Thuy Duong, the presenter of Talk Vietnam, he discussed his love for wildlife and how much he enjoyed his first visit to the country.

Yesterday,  William met with schoolkids to talk about protecting rhino and visited a traditional medicine market, Lang Ong Street and discussed conservation efforts with activists and medical experts in a local coffee shop.

You Can Be Whatever Princess (Or Prince) You Want This Halloween

Since I was 5 years old, nearly every Halloween someone has told me to go as Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin.” I mean, I get it — we’re both stunningly gorgeous and brown — but it always felt so limiting. I contain multitudes and I can go as any princess (or animal or superhero or pun) I want.

YouTuber and makeup artist Deepica Mutyala decided to take tired assumptions about what women of color should — and shouldn’t — be, and turn them on their head in a fun video. Through the power of makeup (and fast-forward), she proves that skin and hair color have little to do with what makes an incredible and believable costume. Jasmine? Cinderella? Little Mermaid? You name it, Mutyala can be it.

Through the power of makeup (and fast-forward), she proves that skin and hair color have little to do with what makes an incredible and believable costume. Jasmine? Cinderella? Little Mermaid? You name it, Mutyala can be it.

Whether you’re black, white, brown, yellow, blue, or any color in between, we all deserve to be whoever/whatever we want to be,” Mutyala wrote in an Instagram post about the video.

And if you think a woman needs a man on her arm to make her costume (or life) complete, think again. As Mutyala says, “I can be my own Prince Charming.” Watch to the end of the video to see just how serious she is about that statement.

A Grown Man Dresses Like Prince George for a Week and the Results Are Hilarious

Beyond being ridiculously cute and very cuddly (we imagine), Prince George is on the verge of becoming a fashion superstar at the ripe old age of two!

First, he caused a craze for Crocs after being photographed wearing them with his mom, Duchess Kate, and now, he’s inspiring grown men to dress just like him.

Well, it’s one grown man (so far): Max Knoblauch, a 23-year-old Brooklynite and writer for Mashable. Knoblauch scanned “Macy’s, the Gap, and the Internet” for adult-size versions of George’s wee little rompers, shortalls, and novelty intarsia sweaters to dress like the mini-royal for a week—and in the name of journalism and fashion fandom, he chronicled the entire experience.

The results? Hilarious!

Britain’s Royal Mint Produces Prince George Coin

CAMBRIDGE CURRENCY: In honor of Prince George of Cambridge’s second birthday, Britain’s Royal Mint has created a special-edition, silver, five pounds coin. A modern take on the legend of Saint George and the Dragon, designed by Christopher Le Brun, is etched on one side while the other is adorned with a portrait of the toddler’s great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, created by Jody Clark. Only 7,500 limited-edition coins will be produced.
“The choice of the Saint George design to honor Prince George’s birthday is an apt one,” said Shane Bissett, director of commemorative coin and bullion at The Royal Mint. “The name George has long had links with the British monarchy and its coinage, there having been six kings of that name during The Royal Mint’s 1,000-year history. The choice of a silver 5 pounds coin is significant, too, as the tradition of crossing the palm of a newborn baby with silver is a way to wish them wealth and good health throughout their life.”
Two years ago, the Royal Mint created a limited-edition silver coin commemorating the birth of Prince George, which sold out within days. Priced at 80 pounds, or $ 124, the 5 pounds coin is available for purchase on

The Prince of Thieves

The Prince of Thieves

Welcome back to Sherwood Forest. The delights of Dumas’ novels are well known. Less known today are his tales of Robin Hood. With great pleasure, we present these two old works to a new reading public: electronic book readers. Prince of Thieves and Robin Hood the Outlaw have virtually disappeared from bookshelves; they are now virtual books, accessible to the world from the Reginetta Press. In Prince of Thieves, Alexandre Dumas tells his own unique version of Robin Hood’s origins and upbringing, how Robin was robbed of his heritage, how Robin becomes acquainted with Marian, Little John, Friar Tuck and the Merry Men, and the events leading up to Robin Hood’s life as an outlaw.

Kate Middleton & Prince George Remind Us That Navy & White Are Just Right For Summer Outings

One day after appearing at the Trooping of the Colour festivities June 13, the royal family stepped out to watch as William and Harry took part in a charity polo match at Tetbury in Gloucestershire, England. The Queen was in attendance, as was the Prince of Wales. But of course, all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge and her son, Prince George.

duchess of cambridge

The mother-son duo wore matching navy and white outfits that were fitting for a summer outing. Duchess Kate chose a navy-and-white striped top and slim-fitting jeans, while her dapper 21-month-old boy wore a navy cardigan, shorts and — gasp! — Crocs. The rubber footwear, beloved by kids and Mario Batali, has made its way into the regal wardrobe. Every parent understands the necessity of Crocs: they’re easy to put on and take off, they can be hosed down and they’re inexpensive. That said, they’re not what we expected to see the heir to the British throne wearing. Ahh, the royals: they’re just like us!

Despite being the center of attention, the duchess looked like any other mom chasing after her tow-headed tot. Still no sign of Princess Charlotte, but we’ll keep hoping.

Royal Family Releases First Photos Of Princess Charlotte With Prince George

Yep, they’re siblings all right!

The British royal family on Saturday released a new photo of Princess Charlotte and her older brother Prince George, the first to feature both siblings together. It’s also the first public photo of Charlotte since the days following her birth in early May:

According to The Telegraph, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, took the photo of her children herself in mid-May, when little Charlotte was only two weeks old.

“There was a very warm public response when Princess Charlotte was born, which was very much appreciated by the Duke and Duchess, and so they wanted to share this with the public,” an unnamed royal source told the paper.

Kensington Palace teased the photo of Charlotte and George on Twitter prior to its release, referring to it as “very special” and adding, “Can’t wait to share it with you!”

Prince William and Duchess Kate currently reside in Anmer Hall, where they’ll raise their young family — aided by a full-time nanny — for the next few years, BBC reports.

Following the release of the initial photo, the family shared more photos of the brother and sister on Facebook:
