EXCLUSIVE: Nick Graham Returning to Joe Boxer as Creative Consultant

Nick Graham has always had a soft spot for Joe Boxer, the underwear brand that put him on the map more than three decades ago. And now, he’s back. Iconix Brand Group Inc., which purchased the Joe Boxer brand in 2005, has hired Graham as a creative consultant to spearhead a premium collection under the Joe Boxer name that will be targeted to specialty and department stores. The Joe Boxer brand is sold primarily at Sears. This is the second major move that Iconix’s chief executive officer Bob Galvin has masterminded for the company’s brands in the past few weeks. Zoo York, another of its labels, is bringing back its trio of founders to create a special Founders collection for the skateboarding brand this fall. “I’ve known, followed and admired Nick for a long time,” Galvin said. “He’s a true marketing and creative visionary and he’s providing us with valuable insight that will help us bring Joe Boxer to a new generation. Look at what we’ve done with Zoo York. There’s so much love between these brands and their founders. Nick has so much passion for what Joe Boxer stands for so that’s why we wanted to bring him back.” Graham founded Joe Boxer

Balmain Returning to Couture

Look for Balmain on the couture calendar in January. Olivier Rousteing revealed this morning at WWD’s Retail & Apparel CEO Summit that he will be leading that charge.
Rousteing is “looking to bring back the Parisian DNA,” he said.
The prospect has a lot of business potential considering 80 percent of Balmain’s sales stem from ready-to-wear.
Accessories, fragrance and cosmetics are also on his wish list.
It’s a return to couture for Balmain for the first time in 16 years, since the departure of Oscar de la Renta in 2002.
Rousteing sounded as though he is up for the task. In the course of the discussion, he mentioned the importance of timelessness, quality and knowing your customers — or in his case, Balmain army.

Why Cash Returning From Overseas Isn’t Likely to Create Jobs—and Might Even Reduce Them

Republican lawmakers say their tax overhaul would spur companies to hire more employees and build factories in the U.S. Yet one key provision, which will free up hundreds of billions of dollars for companies to spend, will probably benefit shareholders, analysts say.

Tamagotchi Is Returning With a 20th Anniversary Line

It’s time to hatch, feed, and clean-up after your virtual pets yet again — Tamagotchi is back in honor of the toy’s 20th anniversary.

Bandai America has officially announced that a new set of Tamagotchi toys — smaller at about 60 percent the size of the toys you may remember playing with in the ’90s — will be available in limited qualities on November 5 for $ 14.99. Check out the device below.

Yes, the new Tamagotchi looks very much like the original, including the device’s egg shape, with six different designs pulled from the original Japanese launch. To further evoke nostalgia, the original Tamagtochi’s packaging design has been replicated for the new line, and the toys themselves feature the original characters players could care for from the original game.

Simon Cowell Has Absolutely ‘No Interest’ In Returning To ‘American Idol’

The “American Idolreboot has already lost out on Kelly Clarkson and it doesn’t look like they’ll be getting Simon Cowell to come back anytime soon, either.

In an interview with Extra, Cowell revealed, “I was asked to do it, and the answer is no.”

It’s as simple as that. But the former “Idol” judge ― who was one of the original three panelists ―  went on to explain his reasoning, saying, “I have no interest. My memories are when we first started. It was a different time with Randy [Jackson], Ryan [Seacrest] and Paula [Abdul]. You can’t recreate that.”

Cowell said that he just didn’t feel the show had that same feeling in recent seasons.

“I left for a reason and I never regretted that,” he said. The producer is now on the judging panel for both “Britain’s Got Talent” and “America’s Got Talent.”

Cowell echoed his statements about “Idol” in an interview with “Today” Friday, noting that he’s committed to “America’s Got Talent” right now, adding, “when I really, really thought about it, it was kind of like, ‘How can you go back again?’”

All hope is not lost for the “Idol” reboot though, as it’s been reported that Ryan Seacrest is in talks to return to the competition show as its host. (Because really, if there’s no Simon Cowell, and no Kelly Clarkson, what would “Idol” be without Ryan Seacrest?)

Of course, the mega-producer just got a new gig as the co-host of “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” so whether or not he’ll actually return to “Idol” is still unclear.

Maybe they can give William Hung a call?

Jennifer Lopez Is Returning To TV As A Cop On ‘Shades Of Blue’

Watch out Sgt. Olivia Benson, Jenny from the block is joining the police force. Jennifer Lopez revealed the promo for NBC’s new cop drama, “Shades of Blue” on Twitter this week.

Aside from her judging gig on “American Idol” and brief cameos on “How I Met Your Mother” and “Will & Grace,” Lopez hasn’t appeared on a TV series since CBS’s “Hotel Malibu,” which ran for one season in 1994. On “Shades of Blue,” the actress and singer will star as Det. Harlee Santos, a single mother who’s love for her daughter keeps her grounded on the job. Donning a police uniform alongside Lopez are Ray Liotta as Lt. Bill Wozniak and Drea De Matteo as Tess Nazario, a cop and mother of three.

The 13-episode series follows the detectives who keep their city safe, but are also corrupt. Lopez is producing alongside Ryan Seacrest, among others, while Barry Levinson is directing. Check out the promo in which Lopez and the cast talk about the shades of grey (and blue, duh) between right and wrong when it comes to crime. “Shades of Blue” does not yet have a premiere date.

Kim Richards Reportedly Not Returning To ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’

E! News reports that Kim Richards will not return to “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for the show’s sixth season.

Sources connected to the reality show tell the website that while it’s possible she may come back for a cameo, or a few appearances, she won’t be a full-time cast member.

Request for comment made to Richards’ rep and Bravo have yet to be returned at this time.

The 50-year-old, who has been a cast member on the reality series since it first premiered in 2010, returned to rehab on Tuesday after briefly leaving a treatment facility to attend her daughter’s wedding in Mexico.

Richards was arrested in April and later charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on a police officer. She checked into rehab less than two weeks later.

Soldier from the War Returning

Soldier from the War Returning

One of our most enduring national myths surrounds the men and women who fought in the so-called “Good War.” The Greatest Generation, we’re told by Tom Brokaw and others, fought heroically, then returned to America happy, healthy and well-adjusted. They quickly and cheerfully went on with the business of rebuilding their lives. In this shocking and hauntingly beautiful book, historian Thomas Childers shatters that myth. He interweaves the intimate story of three families-including his own-with a decades’ worth of research to paint an entirely new picture of the war’s aftermath. Drawing on government documents, interviews, oral histories and diaries, he reveals that 10,000 veterans a month were being diagnosed with psycho-neurotic disorder (now known as PTSD). Alcoholism, homelessness, and unemployment were rampant, leading to a skyrocketing divorce rate. Many veterans bounced back, but their struggle has been lost in a wave of nostalgia that threatens to undermine a new generation of returning soldiers.Novelistic in its telling and impeccably researched, Childers’s book is a stark reminder that the price of war is unimaginably high. The consequences are human, not just political, and the toll can stretch across generations.
