Emma Hill Returns to LFW With New Additions to the Hill and Friends Family

LONDON — Emma Hill’s handbag brand, Hill & Friends, is back with a host of new styles and great ambitions: It returned to the London Fashion Week schedule after a three-year hiatus, and will be holding appointments in Paris starting next week. Hill & Friends has also moved its factory to Somerset, England, giving the former Mulberry creative director a chance to re-evaluate her brand’s vision and introduce a more grown-up family of bags to the established line-up of Hill & Friends styles. The bags are known for their signature lock closure, fashioned to resemble a smiley emoticon. “We are changing direction slightly. But it’s more of a maturation than a change of direction and creatively, I just wanted to play with something else and not be confined into one thing,” Hill said ahead of the brand’s London Fashion Week presentation. “We’ve been thinking about who we want to be, and the Smiley Lock will always be a part of our DNA and continuity styles, but it can be limiting for the people who don’t want that kind of lock.” Cue a new, oversized square-hinge, flip-lock closure that brings the inside label to the outside, touting the brand’s Made in England credentials, or bags that close with

Christy Turlington Burns Returns to the Runway After 30 Years

After 30 years away from the runway, Nineties supermodel Christy Turlington Burns closed the Marc Jacobs fall 2019 show at New York Fashion Week.
Although appearing in ad campaigns since her last catwalk, Turlington Burns has been absent from the runway since 1989. She made her return at Jacobs’ show Wednesday night dressed in a feathery black gown and matching headpiece.
The supermodel had initially given up the catwalk to pursue a college degree. Turlington Burns has since focused on philanthropy, starting the nonprofit organization, Every Mother Counts, which works to end preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth around the world.
Turlington Burns isn’t the only model to make her runway return at the Marc Jacobs show. Karlie Kloss, absent from the fashion week runways for the past few seasons, was also seen walking Jacobs’ runway sporting a gray coat. Kloss has also ventured outside of modeling for the past few years, starting Kode With Klossy, a free coding camp for teenage girls, and filming Bravo’s reboot of “Project Runway,” on which she serves as the host.

Marc Jacobs has a history of memorable runway model moments at his shows. During his fall 2014 show, reality TV star turned model Kendall Jenner made

Sarah Brightman Returns from Space Training for New Album and Tour: ‘I Needed to Earth Myself’

Sarah Brightman is making an astronomical landing with her fifteenth studio album Hymn.

After spending months in Russia training for a trip to outer space that she postponed in 2015, Brightman, 58, opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about the creation of her newest album and the planning stages of her tour.

“I needed to earth myself,” says the soprano singer. “I said I would like to do an album of songs which are full of light, full of hope. Songs that remind me of when I felt safe and familiar with things in my childhood when I sang in my church.”

“If I don’t use and I don’t convey my feelings through it, I feel depleted,” she added. “I don’t function very well and that’s the beauty of having a gift like a voice. You sort of know what to do. You know what direction to take, you know that you want to communicate through it.”

Brightman, who shot to fame after star-turning roles on Broadway musicals Cats and Phantom of the Opera, linked up with producer Frank Peterson for the album-creating process. What came out of two-and-a-half years of planning and recording was the dynamic, choir-filled album, Hymn, out on Nov. 9.

“ is about looking into the good in things because I do believe that good prevails always,” she said, adding that the word “positivity” would describe her album.

“I did experience huge amounts when I was in the space program that actually how precious everything really is on this beautiful planet and how precious that is,” she added.

Now, the “Time to Say Goodbye” vocalist is ready to take Hymn on the road later this fall for a tour that’s “going to be quite beautiful.”

“I have a lot of energy. I tend to before I go on these tours, I become more energetic,” she says. “You create a power for yourself which will protect you because when you go on tour you’re dealing with the hardship of jet lag and moving around continually.”

The “Angel of Music” singer says her set on tour will be divided into two halves. The first will feature a more retrospective aspect to Brightman’s music, which will look like “somebody who is going to the ballet or the opera.” The second will be a bit more modern and feature most of the songs off Hymn.

“I’m wearing all these amazing runway gowns, which I’ve made a little more theatrical by adding things to them. Stones, crystals, all sorts of stuff,” she says. “I’ve got a big choir behind me. Up really high. I’ve got an orchestra on one side, a band on the other side and myself in the middle.”

Brightman’s album is filled with collaborations with artists like French tenor Vincent Niclo on single “Sogni” and Japanese composer Yoshiki on the emotional “Miracle.”

“ is a really interesting guy and we got along very well,” she said. “It was a very interesting collaboration with Japan’s most famous rockstar writing a beautiful contemporary classical piece.”

Along with the collaborations, Brightman’s album jumps from classical and cinematic music to pop rhythms in a cohesive album threaded by its spiritual nature. The album also takes fans back to one of her most famous classics “Time to Say Goodbye” with Andrea Bocelli, which she recreates in a touching English rendition.

“I wrote the lyrics for it but they were very much inspired from the original Italian lyrics when translated,” she said. “It’s quite a grand song, it’s almost like an opera song, but I wanted to do this in a very intimate way.”

Fans can purchase tickets for “Hymn: Sarah Brightman in Concert” through her website.

Crooks and Castles Returns

Crooks and Castles is making a comeback.
The California-based streetwear brand, founded by Dennis Calvero and Robert Panlilio in 2002, was best known for parody graphics fusing luxury logos with its own flourishes — the Versace medusa head covered with a bandana being its most popular. Calvero said with luxury brands now working more directly with streetwear lines, it was an ideal time to revamp Crooks and Castles and bring it back to the market.
“Now that everything has caught up to what we’ve been doing for the last decade, we thought it was time to tell the younger consumer that we are one of the originators of this luxe street image,” Calvero said.
The assortment, employing graphic language that’s a bit more political, features T-shirts, sweatpants with smaller versions of Crooks and Castles signature medusa graphic, chain link motifs and logo imagery. T-shirts are priced at $ 45 while track pants run up to $ 148 — slightly more expensive than previous incarnations because more items are made in L.A., and due to limited runs on garments made from Japanese military fabrics.
After launching, Crooks went on a short hiatus when Calvero moved to New York and took a job at Ecko Unlimited where he

Louis C.K. Returns to the Stage for First Stand-Up Set Since Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Nine months after Louis C.K. was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, the comedian reportedly returned to the stand-up stage on Sunday for a surprise set at the Comedy Cellar in New York City.

Club owner Noam Dworman told The New York Times that C.K., 50, took the stage for a 15-minute set around 11 p.m. local time, performing for a sold-out crowd of roughly 115 people.

The Louie star “was very relaxed,” and was dressed in a black V-neck T-shirt and gray pants, the outlet reported.

He did not mention the allegations against him, and instead worked his way through “typical Louis C.K. stuff” like racism, parades, and tips for waitresses. “It sounded just like he was trying to work out some new material,” Dworman explained to the Times. “Almost like any time of the last 10 years he would come in at the beginning of a new act.”

The audience greeted C.K. with a standing ovation, said Dworman to the Times — though one attendee has since called the club to object about the appearance, the owner recalled, wishing he had known in advance “so he could’ve decided whether to have been there or not.”

The New York Times published an article in November in which five women detailed their alleged experiences with C.K., including claims he masturbated in front of them.

Comedians Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov alleged that while with C.K. in his hotel room after their show at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 2002, he “proceeded to take all of his clothes off, and get completely naked, and started masturbating.”

Comedian Rebecca Corry alleged that C.K. “asked if we could go to my dressing room so he could masturbate in front of me” while filming a TV pilot in 2005, and writer Abby Schachner alleged she heard him masturbating through the phone during a 2003 call. A fifth, anonymous woman alleged that while working on The Chris Rock Show in the late 1990s, C.K. masturbated while she sat with him in his office, and a co-worker corroborated her story to the Times.

RELATED: FX CEO Says Network ‘Didn’t Know’ About Louis C.K.’s Alleged Sexual Misconduct

C.K. responded with a lengthy statement in which he admitted that “these stories are true.”

He added, “The hardest regret to live with is what you’ve done to hurt someone else. And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them … I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen.”

Since then, FX severed ties with C.K., whose shows Louie and Better Things aired on the network. C.K. was dropped by all his reps, too, while Netflix cancelled an upcoming stand-up special and HBO cut all of his content from its library. Orchard also canceled the release of his film I Love You, Daddy — though C.K. bought the rights to the title back.

Adidas Y-3 Store Returns to Los Angeles

Y-3 is back in Los Angeles, planting a flag this time on La Brea Avenue.
Los Angeles marks the fourth Y-3 unit in the U.S. with stores globally now totaling 104.
“As a brand, the U.S. market is extremely important, with Los Angeles being a key city,” said Torben Schumacher, Adidas Originals general manager. “We saw such success and excitement among our customers when we opened the previous pop-up shops, and we felt it was time to re-establish a presence and continue to build momentum in the city.”
The brand had been in the market in the past with temporary shops, one in 2007 on Sunset Boulevard and another between 2008 and 2009 on Melrose Avenue. The permanent door aims to serve a customer base already in the market with an appetite for the brand, which is a partnership between the sportswear firm and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamato. The label was originally created to focus on the merging of fashion and streetwear, a convergence that’s clearly taken hold more broadly across industries the past few years.
“There is an existing audience in Los Angeles that we want to explore further and give a chance to interact with the brand on a more tangible level,”

Kitson Returns to Robertson — Sort Of

YOUR MOVE NEXT: Kitson has made a comeback of sorts on Robertson Boulevard in a move some might say could be fanning the flames with founder Fraser Ross’ aim to reclaim the name.
Ross late Wednesday had the Kitson sign, which he salvaged at the time of the chain’s closing two years ago this month, placed atop his storefront on Robertson Boulevard. Ross had been operating a new concept there called Kitross, which he launched in the spring of last year. The renamed store is now Kitson Kitross.
“It’s what’s rightfully mine that was taken away in circumstances that should never have been allowed,” Ross said of the decision to add Kitson to the store name.
Ross alleged in a lawsuit filed last summer the company was taken fraudulently from him by the retailer’s former chief executive officer Chris Lee, an accusation an attorney for Lee has denied in court. The chain was liquidated in 2015 and sent into general assignment with Kitson’s global trademark acquired by an entity called Kitson Co. Ltd. in late 2016. Ross has since added Kitson lenders Salus Capital and an affiliate of giftables retailer Spencer Spirit to his lawsuit alleging the financial firms pumped the stores with

Carson Daly Pays Tribute to Dad as He Returns to Today After Parents’ Back-to-Back Deaths

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Carson Daly made an emotional return to the Today show on Thursday, paying tribute to his stepfather Richard Caruso, who died on Tuesday after a battle with bone cancer – just five weeks after the his mother Pattie Daly Caruso died of a heart attack.

“It’s been a rough month for my family,” Daly, 44, explained while sitting with co-anchors Matt Lauer, Savannah GuthrieAl Roker and Hoda Kotb on the NBC morning show.

“Last time I was here I was talking about my mom, who had unexpectedly passed away. She’d been the primary caregiver of my stepfather, who passed away on Tuesday now. His health was in peril, we know that was a foregone conclusion. Mom had been taking care of Dad. Mom was the one that went so quickly, and then we lost my Dad on Tuesday. It’s just been a crazy month. It’s just been really really hard.”

Daly explained that his biological father died when he was 5, and his mother Pattie married Richard  — whom he affectionately called “Pops” — three years later.

“He took us in,” Daly said. “He’s my role model, my mentor. Incredible guy. Old school — grew up in the depression. One of those guys who knew that life was going to be hard. Led by example, not by words. My mom had all the sayings and isms — you know, ‘You can shoot for the stars!’ And my dad woke up early, went to work, had a great deep personal faith that I later in life would gravitate towards. Again, led by example.”

“Family-first — we always had dinner in high school. He was like, ‘Hey, I don’t care what you do after, but we’re all going to have family dinner at 6 p.m. and then you can run off and go to the movies.’ That was dad,” Daly continued. “Drank Cutty Sark, worked hard, loved golf. Golf would be the sport that brought our relationship together. He taught me so much about life and really the man that I am. I’m grateful that I had 85 years with him. He was an incredible person.”

RELATED VIDEO: Carson Daly’s ‘Hero’ Stepfather Passes Away Five Weeks After the Death of His Mother: ‘He’s Reunited with Mom Now’

When Lauer told Daly that his parents must have been proud of him, the former TLR host got emotional.

“It’s hard to grasp that considering they were both healthy in June,” Daly said. “The enormity of this, the totality of a loss so soon, is still a struggle. But you’re absolutely right, we’re so blessed to have them both. They were incredible.”

“I realize the more pain that I feel losing my parents is testament to how much of an impact they made in my life,” he added. “They clearly equipped me with the tools to be able to handle it, and that’s because they were incredible parents.”

Before the end of the segment, Daly went on to express gratitude to his Today show family. “Thanks again to everybody here,” he said. “You guys are my family, and I love you guys.”

Earlier this month, Daly returned to Today to pay tribute to his mother, who died Sept. 17.

“When she walked in this room, she lit the place up,” Kotb told Daly on the Oct. 4 episode. “There was something special and unique.”

“She also stole everything!” said Daly with a laugh. “I’m telling you, going through her things, it’s an example of how much she loved life. She literally was a kleptomaniac. If it wasn’t nailed down, she took it. I’m talking about wine corks she would write on, ash trays, menus from around the world, rundowns from the Today show. She died at 73, but she lived a life that was passionately twice as much, so she really died at 146.”

“By the way, you guys gave my mom the greatest gift ever by employing me on the Today show, so she could watch me every single morning in her kitchen, and I know that she did,” he added. “There’s no place she’d rather have me be than right back here.”

Today airs weekdays beginning at 7 a.m. on NBC.

Christina El Moussa Returns to Work with Ex-Husband Tarek After Splitting from Boyfriend Doug Spedding

A year and a half after splitting, Christina and Tarek El Moussa still have a strong professional relationship.

The Flip or Flop stars were spotted working together in Yorba Linda, California, on Thursday, as news broke that Christina, 34, had split from her boyfriend Doug Spedding, 55.

In Touch first reported that Christina had ended her romance with the businessman, who has entered an in-patient rehabilitation center for addiction issues.

A source confirmed the breakup to PEOPLE, saying Christina “supports Doug’s decision to seek treatment and remains in contact to support his recovery.”

Christina and Spedding had been dating since this summer. In July, PEOPLE reported that the pair, who were linked before her marriage to Tarek, had reconnected.

“Their children are only a few years apart, so they’ve been doing a lot of activities with the kids: ice skating, swimming, BBQs, just low-key stuff at home,” a source said about Christina and Spedding, who is a father of six. “Christina respects that he is a great father; he’s always present when it comes to his children and isn’t distracted by his phone and social media. They’re just taking it slow and enjoying their time together.”

RELATED VIDEO: Christina and Tarek El Moussa’s Divorce Has Not Stopped Their Business Relationship

Christina and Tarek, 36, quietly separated in May 2016 following a bizarre incident involving a gun.

She submitted her divorce documents in August, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup and requesting joint legal and physical custody of their two children: daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 2.

They continue to film Flip or Flop together.

The two are also co-executive producers on Chi-Town Flop, which follows husband-and-wife team Bryan and Maira Segal as they transform homes in the Windy City using the same model as Tarek and Christina’s successful series.

“We’ve been working together for a really long time,” Tarek told PEOPLE in August of the former couple’s dynamic as business partners. “It’s our job. Obviously, we know each other really well.”

Frank Everett Returns to Sotheby’s in Expanded Role

Frank Everett is back at Sotheby’s.
Everett, a pied piper of New York’s jewelry scene — oft spotted at glitzy events at the invitation of bejeweled clients — has returned to the auction house after a brief stint as Graff’s U.S. sales president.
Everett’s homecoming sees him taking up new responsibilities as senior vice president, sales director for Sotheby’s luxury division. While previously only responsible for jewelry, he will now help expand the auction house’s luxury group — including jewelry, watches, wine, cars and “experiences.” Sotheby’s is also looking to get into the fashion game and has begun exploring how sales might include clothing, fashion jewelry and accessories.
The auction house officially unveiled a designated luxury division earlier this year. Before that, its component departments operated autonomously.
Said Everett in a statement: “After briefly turning back to retail I realized my talents and my passion truly align with auction. My favorite part of the job at Sotheby’s revolves around telling the stories about the works of art and the people who cared for them — from the personal collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon to the fascinating history revealed in the Stotesbury Emerald.

Cedric The Entertainer Returns To The Apollo Theater To Honor His Hollywood Mentor

Performing at New York City’s Apollo Theater in any capacity is always an exhilarating experience for Cedric the Entertainer.

For his latest act, “The Original King of Comedy” will host the world-renowned theater’s 12th annual Spring Gala on Monday. The benefit event, which is the Apollo’s biggest fundraiser for artistic and education programs, will feature musical performances from the likes of CeeLo Green, Sheila E., Charlie Wilson and Wé McDonald of NBC’s “The Voice.”

The celebration will also honor Verizon with the annual Corporate Award for its philanthropy, and Peabody Award-winning director and producer Stan Lathan with the Trailblazer Award for his groundbreaking work as one of the first African American directors and producers in Hollywood.

Cedric told HuffPost that his experiences working with his mentor Lathan on shows like “The Steve Harvey Show,” “The Soul Man” and “Def Comedy Jam” taught him how to transcend urban comedy boundaries and become a business-savvy comedian.

“With Stan being on the forefront on the whole ‘Def Comedy Jam’ movement with Russell [Simmons] and all the guys who created the show, it gave urban comedy an opportunity to be seen in its rarest forms,” the St. Louis native said. “Being a part of so many great comedians getting their shine, he had that comfortability with it. It goes back with Stan to legends like Redd Foxx and being a part of their careers.”

“Especially in a TV environment with him, he was one to really help you, motivate and encourage you to push for your money,” he continued, “[or] let you know when it’s not gonna work for you in this brand of television. Like, ‘That might be funny on HBO, but you can’t do that on The WB.’ That’s the kind of ways he would influence you.”

For Apollo Theater President and CEO Jonelle Procope, having the award-winning comedian participate in honoring Lathan’s career continues the Apollo’s legacy as a center that recognizes thought leaders in the creative field who have pushed the arts forward.

”We are honored to present Stan Lathan … with the first-ever Trailblazer Award, recognizing his groundbreaking work as one of the first African-American directors and producers in Hollywood,” Procope told HuffPost in a statement. “Stan not only paved the way for other African-American artists, but he also created a platform for emerging artists, particularly comedians.”

“So a comedy legend like Cedric The Entertainer is the perfect person to host this year’s Gala because he can truly appreciate Stan’s contributions to the arts and especially comedy,” she added.

All proceeds from the fundraising event will benefit the theater’s year-round performing arts programming, innovative education initiatives and community programs.

“These are rare circumstances where young people are being encouraged and motivated to not only be in front of the stage, but because they work hard can be behind the scenes as well,” Cedric the Entertainer said. Lighting engineers, set designers. And so, this is the kind of programming that is very important.”

Taylor Swift Returns To Streaming Services As Katy Perry Drops Album

Check and mate.

As the clock neared midnight on Thursday, pop music fans around the world readied themselves for Katy Perry’s fifth studio album, “Witness.” Little did they know that the singer’s rival, Taylor Swift, would swoop in at the last moment to steal Perry’s thunder by releasing her entire back catalogue on streaming services that same night.

Swift’s music is now available on Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal, reversing her decision to rebuke major streaming services for not properly compensating artists.

“In celebration of ‘1989’ selling over 10 million albums worldwide and the RIAA’s 100 million song certification announcement, Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services tonight at midnight,” a statement from the official TaylorNation Instagram read.

A post shared by Taylor Nation (@taylornation) on

Swift pulled her entire catalogue from Spotify and Apple Music in 2014, describing the push toward streaming music online as a “grand experiment” contributing to the perception that music should be free.

“I’m not willing to contribute my life’s work to an experiment that I don’t feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists and creators of this music,” she told Yahoo about her decision at the time.

The singer later came to an agreement with Apple Music after releasing an open letter encouraging the service to pay artists during its free three-month trial period. An Apple executive quickly responded to Swift’s plea, and her music ― including her new album at the time, “1989” ― was made available for streaming.

Of course, the internet reacted accordingly to the suspicious timing of the singer’s return, reigniting the now years-long feud between Swift and Perry and their fandoms. Snake emojis, and fun, were had by all.

Cuba Gooding Jr. Breaks His Silence on His Father’s Death as He Returns to Work One Day Later

Cuba Gooding Jr. is staying strong.

The American Horror Story actor was spotted Friday on the Toronto set of his new film, Life in a Year, just one day after the death of his father, Cuba Gooding Sr.

Sporting a bright blue jacket, black pants, and grey sneakers, the Oscar-winner was seen with his costar, Jaden Smith, looking in good spirits as they walked and talked together.

Life in a Year follows the story of a 17-year-old boy who sets out to give his girlfriend an entire life after discovering that she is dying. Cara Delevingne will portray Smith’s girlfriend.

Also on Friday, Gooding Jr. broke his silence about his father’s death, sharing a photo of one of his father’s albums and writing simply, “Eternal.”

Gooding Sr., a popular soul singer in the 1970s, died Thursday at the age of 72. The singer was found slumped over in his silver Jaguar, which was parked on a street in Woodland Hills, CA, according to TMZ.

The fire department responded to the scene and attempted CPR, but could not resuscitate him.

Gooding Jr. spoke of his father during an episode of Inside the Actors Studio that aired earlier this year.

“I remember, one of my earliest memories … he would perform at Disneyland, and after his performances, they would close it off to the general public and all the performers’ kids would go on the rides as many times as they’d want,” Cuba remembered. “He would pull me up on stage with him and make me finish the song because I’d seen him perform all the time. It was a lot of feeling like, ‘I come from royalty.’”

Jessica Biel Returns To TV In Creepy New Crime Thriller ‘The Sinner’

She played the beloved Mary Camden on “7th Heaven” until 2003, but since then, Jessica Biel hasn’t been on our TV screens, aside from a brief cameo on “New Girl” in 2014.

Well, good news: she’s back in a scary new crime thriller on USA Network. Biel is starring in “The Sinner,” an anthology series based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Petra Hammesfahr.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the first season of the show follows a young mother named Cora (Biel) who randomly commits a startling act of violence. The thing is, Cora doesn’t know why she did it, and that’s the question that drives the plot. Bill Pullman plays the detective who works to uncover Cora’s motives, while Christopher Abbott plays Biel’s on-screen husband, Mason.

“The Sinner” is produced by Biel, show writer Derek Simonds, Michelle Purple, Charlie Gogolak, and pilot director Antonio Campos.

Watch the creepy trailer above. “The Sinner” debuts on USA this summer.

Snoopy and Belle Exhibit Returns to U.S. With Rachel Zoe, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Colleen Atwood Designs

DOG’S DAY: Snoopy and Belle are back on the fashion circuit, and this time they’re taking it to the masses with a retail bent. The “Snoopy & Belle in Fashion” project, which debuted at the Louvre in 1984 with nearly four dozen outfits designed by everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to Gianni Versace, has been on a nonstop worldwide museum tour ever since. Its last iteration celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2014 with new designers such as Isaac Mizrahi and Rodarte coming into the mix, and others such as Diane von Furstenberg and Betsey Johnson, who were part of the original exhibit, creating a second set of costumes.

Colleen Atwood’s sketch of Snoopy in an outfit inspired by her costume for Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in “Alice in Wonderland.”

The 2017 tour brings the collection back to the U.S. in shopping malls instead of museums. The first stop is Feb. 14 at Los Angeles’ Beverly Center, and it will hit six U.S. cities before ending at Brookfield Place on Sept. 7 in time for New York Fashion Week, where it will remain until Oct. 1 before it goes overseas.

Missy Elliott Finally Returns With New Single And Video

Missy Elliott is back with her first new single ― “I’m Better,” featuring Lamb ― since 2016’s collaboration with Fall Out Boy for the new “Ghostbusters” theme song. She also released a more proper single around this time last year ― “Pep Rally” ― in conjunction with a Super Bowl advertisement.

Elliott announced the track on Twitter at midnight Friday.

The title choice, “I’m Better,” is a good one, as on first pass the new single is highly similar to styles popularized recently by artists such as Future and Migos. At this point in her career, Elliott is a bonafide legend, and here she successfully brings her own skill-set to what may be a slightly derivative approach.

It’s fitting that Migos also dropped new music Thursday night with an announcement on Twitter ― although they had Kanye West start off their promotional cycle.

It remains unclear whether a full-length Elliott album is finally on the way after over a decade.

Tailored Brands Returns to Profitability in Third Quarter

Investors applauded signs of turnaround at Tailored Brands’ Jos. A. Bank division, driving the company’s stock up 39.7 percent to $ 26.44 on Thursday.
But just as the troublesome acquisition of Bank seems to be getting back on track, the firm’s other divisions are feeling the pain of the challenging retail environment.
Tailored Brands raised guidance for the year and is expecting full-year 2016 adjusted earnings per share will hit $ 1.70 to $ 1.85 a diluted share, up from the previous range of $ 1.55 to $ 1.85.
The updated guidance reflects the company’s expectation for Jos. A. Bank’s comparable sales to be up mid- to high-single-digits and Men’s Wearhouse’s comparable sales to be down slightly in the fourth quarter.
Eric Beder of Wunderlich Securities reiterated his “buy” rating on the stock Thursday, raising the target price to $ 30 from $ 20 and increasing the EPS projections for fiscal-year 2017 and fiscal-year 2018 to $ 1.79 from $ 1.70 and $ 2.16 from $ 2.
Moody’s was similarly upbeat, with analyst Mike Zuccaro, saying: “As expected, Tailored Brands is making progress with the Jos. A. Bank turnaround, as well as its store rationalization initiatives and goal to achieve $ 50 million of cost savings this year. With a focus on reducing debt, the company is on track

With Star Quality Intact, Ben Rimalower Returns To The NYC Stage

New York writer-performer Ben Rimalower returns to the Off-Broadway stage this weekend with an encore presentation of his solo shows, “Patti Issues” and “Bad With Money.”

Rimalower, 40, has been steadily making a name for himself in Manhattan theater circles and on the road since 2012, when he premiered “Patti Issues” to enthusiastic reviews at the Duplex in New York. That show, which The New York Times praised for its “sharp, observational comedy,” saw Rimalower using his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone as the foil to a deeper narrative about his fractured relationship with his father.

In “Bad With Money,” which debuted at the Duplex two years later, Rimalower dramatized his struggles with another personal (and, in some respects, more imposing) demon: finances. He wasn’t just talking about a few bounced checks or missed rent payments, either, as the show chronicled his brief stint as a sex worker as well as his brush with credit card fraud. (Watch a clip from that show above.)

Of “Patti Issues,” Rimalower told The Huffington Post in 2012 that he “wanted to write a show about my experiences with Patti because she’s been so important to me, and I love to talk about that and think about that. But I realized that while I could go on and on about Patti in a way that would only be interesting to people who care, that’s not the project I ultimately wanted to write here.”

Meanwhile, “Bad With Money” gave him the chance to tackle a subject that felt even more universal, particularly among other gay men. “I think gay men have the worst of both worlds when it comes to money. We’re raised, as men, to be earners, to achieve and to amass wealth,” he said in 2014. “But as gay men, we also want to attract men, so we aspire to a lot of what women are taught, too. We want to be beautiful and we want to be glamorous ― and that costs money.”

Directed by Aaron Mark, “Patti Issues” and “Bad With Money” will play New York’s Duplex on Nov. 19 and Dec. 19.  Head here for more details.

Exclusive First Look: Sports Illustrated Cover Girl Ashley Graham Returns to Bikinis for New Campaign

Ashley Graham had a breakout moment when she became the first size 16 model to pose for the cover of Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue in February. This week, the self-proclaimed body activist is back in a bikini, returning as the face of Swimsuits For All to support the brand’s new #MySwimBody campaign, and PeopleStyle has the exclusive first look. The campaign features four women of all ages and sizes alongside Graham, including Olympic hammer thrower Amanda Bingson.

“The #MySwimBody idea means, to me, that anybody has a swim body no matter what age you are, race you are, gender, or size—you can have a swim body,” Graham told us when she dropped by the People offices to discuss the empowerment campaign featuring Swimsuits For All’s latest collection. The campaign includes the images here, as well as a video featuring the five-some, all of which was shot on location in Puerto Rico. “It was so hot and there was sand everywhere,” she said.

The campaign itself and its theme of self-confidence mean a lot to Graham. “It’s important to embrace every type of person,” she said. “There has only been one standard of beauty for so long within the fashion industry. There has always been a small lane that we as curvy women have had. Now fashion is finally caught up. Now, it’s getting wider and wider because a lot more women are asking for it.”

This campaign comes at a time when the word plus-size is buzzing—in both positive and negative ways. Graham is opposed to the term. “For the last 16 years, I’ve been called a plus-size model and I’ve never really embraced the term,” she said. “I’ve just taken it for face value because that’s exactly what people just called me. Personally, I am not a fan of the word for myself because I think it just puts me in a box and it keeps me there.”

“What I would like to do is not be labeled because I want to be in every single box and be embraced for who I am not because of the number inside of my pants,” she continued. “There is a group of women who love the term plus-size and because they love it, they should be called that. Everybody has a different take on it and I’m just happy to promote my body and different types of women.”

RELATED: Ashley Graham on How Sports Illustrated Changed Her Life Forever

It’s not just the campaign that has Graham promoting healthy body image, she also so through her own Instagram account by using inspirational hashtags. One is #BeautyBeyondSize. “The idea of Beauty Beyond Size is something that’s really important to me because it created an element and a whole world for women who normally wouldn’t post photos of themselves in bikinis in lingerie and in dresses. I just wanted to create a tribe and a safe place for women to go and be themselves. So beauty beyond size is for anybody who wants to show themselves off. It doesn’t matter what size you are.”

Instagram Photo

Another is #ThickThighsSaveLives. “This one is exactly that my thighs are thick, they are luscious,” she said. “I got made fun of for them my whole life and now I’m being praised for my thick thighs and they have saved my life and I want to women to know that their thick thighs are saving their own lives.”

Instagram Photo

And it’s those thighs and the rest of her body that she loves to show off in swimwear, from triangle bikinis to caged decorative two-pieces—and the more, the better. “Girls who are insecure about their bodies, girls who feel fat, girls who have cellulite, girls who have stretch marks on their body — those are all the things that I had as a kid and I never had a woman like me growing up to look at,” Graham told PeopleStyle previously. “I had my mother and that’s one thing, but to have somebody who has cellulite, who has things that jiggle, who has back fat and talk about how you can be a overcomer and not let society take you down for all of that. That’s real.”

So we had to wonder, what’s the secret to feeling like a sexpot in a swimsuit? She said it’s so simple: “The secret to feeling sexy in a swimsuit is put a swimsuit on and tell yourself ‘I’m sexy’.” Ready to try it?

PBS’ ‘Finding Your Roots’ Returns After Ben Affleck Controversy

NEW YORK (AP) — PBS’ popular “Finding Your Roots” series, temporarily shelved after an episode omitted references to the slaveholding past of Ben Affleck’s ancestor at the actor’s request, will return to public television for its third season in January.

The show has hired a new fact-checker and two new genealogists as part of its reforms, said the network’s Beth Hoppe on Monday. PBS had suspended the series after determining that the show’s producers violated standards by allowing Affleck undue influence on its content and failing to inform the network of his request.

“It has become a more transparent process and a more rigorous process,” Hoppe said, “but essentially at its core these are personal stories about people who are finding out about their histories. That hasn’t changed.”

“Finding Your Roots,” which is hosted and written by Henry Louis Gates Jr., returns on Jan. 5. Julianne Moore, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Sen. John McCain and television producers Norman Lear and Shonda Rhimes are among the 28 new celebrities whose backgrounds are traced.

Given the sensitivity of the Affleck case, the series makes certain to mention if its experts find slaveholding backgrounds for any of the celebrities featured this season, even if that isn’t a central part of the story being told, Hoppe said. That’s the case with several people in the new season, but PBS would not reveal which ones.

Hoppe said Gates has done everything PBS has asked to ensure the show has no further problems.

Dior Returns as Sponsor of the Guggenheim International Gala

For the third consecutive year, Dior is sponsoring the Guggenheim International Gala in New York. The two-night art party, known as the GIG, supports the museum’s operations, including exhibitions, educational programs and the landmark building. To be held Nov. 4 and 5, the first night is a pre-party — read: younger, hipper — hosted by the Young Collectors Council that will feature a performance by Grimes, the Canadian producer, singer and songwriter also known as Claire Boucher, whose fourth album is due out this fall. The second night is a benefit dinner  honoring artists On Kawara (in memoriam) and Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, both the subjects of recent exhibitions, and Colombian artist Doris Salcedo, whose work is on view at the museum through Oct. 12.
Since coming on as a sponsor, Dior has infused the GIG with a new energy. In 2013 DJ Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) performed at the pre-party. Last year, it was British indie band The xx.

‘Fashion Police’ Returns In August With Melissa Rivers As Co-Host

After the death of Joan Rivers, losing two co-hosts and a whole lot of drama, “Fashion Police” will return this August with Melissa Rivers, reports Variety.

E! announced that veteran co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski will also return to the show, kicking off the first episode with coverage of the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 31. The new season will feature the trio of co-hosts, as well as two other rotating celebrity guests in each episode.

Back in March, E! announced the show was going on hiatus after co-hosts Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin left the series. The former co-hosts exited amid drama surrounding Rancic’s offensive remarks about actress Zendaya’s dreadlocks during a post-Oscars episode of “Fashion Police.”

On the show, Rancic said Zendaya’s dreadlocks made her look as if she smelled “like patchouli oil” or “weed,” though it was later confirmed that the co-host’s remarks were edited, and that she was making a reference to “hippie culture.”
