Cara Delevingne Plays Class Clown at Rihanna’s Detention-Themed Show

DETENTION SQUAD: Rihanna’s not the only bad gal in town. At the singer’s detention-themed runway show for her Fenty Puma collection, held at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Cara Delevingne played the class clown.
“Is that a real book?” she asked her neighbors, Nick and Joe Jonas, thumping her fists on one of the long library tables that doubled as the catwalk. Her hair newly chopped into a striking platinum bob, half hidden under a gray hoodie, she posed next to Salma Hayek as François-Henri Pinault, the chairman and chief executive officer of Puma parent company Kering, snapped the action.
Delevingne appears in the German sporting goods maker’s “Do You” campaign. Meanwhile, M. Pokora, who was also sporting bleached hair, stars in a clip promoting the Ignite Limitless shoe. “I’m on tour since last week,” said the French singer, who is set to play 70 dates between now and the end of the year.
Rihanna had also handed out a detention card, which doubled as a show invitation, to film director Luc Besson. The Barbadian singer will appear alongside Delevingne in his upcoming sci-fi movie “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.”
In the center of the room, French model Noemie Lenoir was

Rihanna’s Met Gala Dress Designer Didn’t Actually Want Her to Wear It

Chinese couturier Guo Pei became an international fashion superstar the moment Rihanna took her first step on the Met Gala red carpet in May—but if the designer had her way, RiRi wouldn’t have worn it at all.

“I actually didn’t think the dress was the right one for her,” Guo told WWD. “I thought it would be too heavy and too hot, but she was so touched the moment she put it on.”

Bad-gal RiRi knows what works for her, though. The embroidered cape with fur trim and mile-long train was arguably the most photographed—and talked-about—dress of fashion’s biggest night. Pei revealed that the cape weighs 55 pounds and took nearly two years to make. Talk about conviction!

Rihanna’s Mesmerizing “Secret Garden” Dior Ad Just Debuted in Full

After multiple teasers, Rihanna‘s “Secret Garden” ad for Dior is finally out in its totality and, as expected, it’s the sort of thing you’ll watch over and over again (it’s a common phenomenon—the video was posted to YouTube less than 24 hours ago and has already racked up over a million views). This is the fourth “Secret Garden” video for the brand and like those before it, it’s shot at Versailles. Unlike the previous, a bright flick set to ’80s music, this one has a slightly sinister vibe. It’s shot at night for one (“a presence is looming in the night at Versailles,” reads Dior’s accompany blog post); for a soundtrack, it features Rihanna’s sultry “Only If for a Night.”

Rihanna was announced as the label’s newest face early this spring and has since spoken in interviews about how it’s “such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color.”

Watch the video here.
