Reflecting Philipp Plein’s style, gothic lettering appears on the suits and the coats. As for accessories, the uniform comprises calf leather oxford shoes with contrasting bright red laces, and a printed crocodile tote bag with stitched lettering.

Sotheby’s and Stadium Goods Team for Rare Sneaker Auction

Sotheby’s and Stadium Goods are partnering on a global online-only auction of 100 rare and limited-edition sneakers that opens today and runs through July 23. The auction includes a public exhibition at Sotheby’s New York Gallery at 1334 York Avenue.
The sneakers, which have been provided by Stadium Goods’ Trophy Case, the company’s collection of the rarest items, span several years and date as far back as the early Seventies with the Nike “Moon Shoe” made by Nike cofounder and Oregon University track coach Bill Bowerman for runners at the 1972 Olympic Trials. That shoe is estimated at $ 160,000 given its unworn condition.
Other models expected to draw interest include Virgil Abloh’s MCA Chicago Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers that were on display at the designer’s “Figures of Speech” exhibit at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art.
“We spend a lot of time on our Trophy Case,” said Stadium Goods cofounder and co-chief executive officer John McPheters. “A good chunk of items we’ve already had. We’ve done a ton of work behind creating this list of shoes and it’s indicative of how this world has changed.”
Additional sneakers available for auction include the 2011 and 2016 versions of the Nike Mags from the

Montblanc and Bape Team on Accessories Collection

Montblanc is courting streetwear aficionados with a new collaboration collection with A Bathing Ape, launching soon at select Montblanc and Bape stores and their respective web sites.
The limited-edition accessories capsule features Tokyo-based Bape’s signature camouflage pattern and Montblanc branding on a portfolio, slim document case, bifold wallet and 1-pen pouch. The products retail between $ 235 and $ 995.
“We were looking for a collaborative partner to apply their DNA onto ours,” explained Montblanc creative director Zaim Kamal. “We reached out to Bape and they were happy about this collaboration. We can speak of Bape as a maison, because they have the same idea of detailing and excellence.”
Kamal had been a longtime fan and supporter of Bape and was introduced to the brand years ago when he was living in London. As a “child of the Eighties and Nineties” and “admirer of the Harajuku style,” he was drawn to the brand’s “new expression of streetwear” with “an otaku spin.” After connecting in Tokyo, the two brands set the project in motion.
“The Japan Montblanc team reached out to us. It was our great pleasure and the entire team was thrilled,” said Go Miyazaki, Bape’s GM of marketing. “We have successfully partnered up with many

Della Valle Brothers Said to Sell Fiorentina Soccer Team

DELLA VALLES’ SALE: Given the Italians’ passion for soccer, it’s not surprising to see Diego and Andrea Della Valle’s names in the country’s main news.
The brothers are said to be selling the ACF Fiorentina team after 17 years, with the closing of the deal expected by the end of the week. Rocco Commisso, who hails from the U.S., is reportedly paying 170 million euros for the team, which is not part of the publicly listed luxury Tod’s Group, but is owned by another Della Valle family holding.
After saving Fiorentina following its bankruptcy and bringing it back to the top league, the Della Valle brothers have been going through a rough patch, with fans of the team challenging the entrepreneurs’ recent strategic choices and investments and even staging protests in front of Tod’s and Hogan stores in Florence.
Although the Della Valles over the years have voiced their love for the team and supported it through ups and downs, their patience must have run thin. Diego Della Valle in May wrote a letter to the team fans published on Florence-based La Nazione daily that kicked off with “Enough!” and said, conversely to his brother, he could “not accept what [he] saw” and accused

Nike, Artist Steven Harrington Team Up for Earth Day Capsule

Nike is getting artistic for Earth Day thanks to a collaboration with artist Steven Harrington.
The sports giant teamed with the Los Angeles-based painter to create a capsule collection intended to inspire love for the planet. Harrington is best known for his colorful California-inspired psychedelic pop works that often include dog and palm tree characters, an aesthetic he transferred to three Nike footwear models.
The Nike Flyleather by Steven Harrington collection includes an Air Force 1, a Blazer and a Cortez, each of which were created using Nike Flyleather, a proprietary sustainable material that uses at least 50 percent recycled leather.
Harrington said Nike reached out to him about a year ago to see if he’d be interested in working on the project, “and when it hit my desk, I was so excited,” he said. “I’m such a fan of the brand and the topic itself.”
Although he has worked with Nike in the past, the “different scope” of this project, and its overriding message about sustainability really hit home.
Harrington admitted that translating his art to footwear required a different mind-set. “In the initial concepting and talking with the designers within Nike,” he said, “I took the notion of footwear completely out of my

The new accessory was introduced at the tail end of a splashy smartphone launch by the Chinese tech giant in Paris on Tuesday, which was mostly focused on the power of the phone’s camera, but also included a power bank, ear buds and a new triathlon mode for its smart watches. Donna Karan, Mashonda Tifrere’s Art Lead Her Team for ‘King Woman’ Exhibit at Urban Zen

Donna Karan has teamed with Mashonda Tifrere’s nonprofit Art Lead Her to put on an all-women exhibit called “King Woman” at Karan’s store and community space Urban Zen.
Pieces from Reisha Perlmutter, Delphine Diallo, Swoon and 12 other emerging and midcareer artists lined the walls of Urban Zen during a recent visit. Tifrere, dressed all in black just like Karan, pointed out one piece that especially moved her by Perlmutter. It’s a painting of a woman with vitiligo, her face peering above a pool of water in which her body’s submerged. Her hair is wet and slicked back.
“Reisha wanted to portray the woman in the portrait as strong and beautiful in her own skin,” Tifrere said. “On opening night, the woman came, and when she saw her picture hanging on the wall, she started bawling.”
There are individual stories like this one behind most of the pieces included in “King Woman”; Tifrere, who curated the showing, said it was imperative to forge relationships with the artists after selecting them to be part of the exhibition. She added she’d found all of them by looking around on Google and Instagram, then meeting them in person at art fairs.

Thai Soccer Team Thought They’d Have to Ride Their Bikes Home After Digging Tunnel from Cave

The 12 members of the Wild Boars youth soccer team and their coach never stopped thinking of ways to free themselves from the flooded Tham Luang Nang Non cave in northern Thailand during the weeks-long ordeal that captured global attention.

In a Wednesday press conference, the boys — ranging in age from 11 to 16 — revealed that they licked water from the cave’s walls to survive and took turns using rocks to try to dig a tunnel. They had a plan in place. But, little did they know, a slew of rescue teams and ambulances were waiting for them outside.

“We were thinking… we would have to ride our bicycles home,” team’s coach, Ekapol “Aek” Chanthawong said, according to Todaynoting that the group decided that the boys who lived the furthest away would leave through their handmade tunnel first.

The group went into the cave on June 23 for an hour-long excursion, but became stuck when heavy rains and rising floodwaters blocked their exit. Police said they believe the team crawled into the cave through a narrow 15-meter long channel. Officials launched a massive search for the group after a park officer found the boys’ backpacks, bicycles and soccer cleats abandoned outside the cave, CNN reported.

RELATED: Tears, Hunger and Fear: Inside Thailand Youth Soccer Team’s 2 Weeks Trapped in Flooded Cave

The team was initially found on July 2, and authorities grappled with how to safely free them from the cave. By July 10, the players and their coach had been successfully rescued and taken to a local hospital where they received vaccinations. In footage from the Chiang Rai Prachanukroh hospital, the boys appeared to be in good spirits as they sat up in their hospital beds with masks over their faces.

In the wake of the rescue, the boys have been open about their ordeal, detailing the weeks they spent in the dark, wet cave. One boy — who turned 13 in the cave — said the hungry group couldn’t help but talk about food as they struggled to survive.

“The more we talked about it, the hungrier we got,” the teen said, according to Today. “I’m so happy to be at home and sleep in my own bed.”

According to ABC News, Chanthawong said at Wednesday’s press conference that the group made the decision to go deeper into the cave after they found their exit flooded. Still, they never expected to be inside for so long.

“The water went up to my shoulder. So everyone followed me,” he said. “I didn’t worry at that time because I thought the water would lower down overnight and we could get out.”

RELATED: Thai Soccer Team Trapped in Cave for Weeks Lived Off Water, Didn’t Think Rescue Diver Was ‘Real’

As the hours passed, the boys became worried. But Chanthawong said he assured them that they weren’t lost. They had no food or water when they entered the cave and, when they weren’t digging through the cave’s walls, they would sit still to save their energy.

“I felt weak and very hungry,” 11-year-old Chanin Vibulrungruang — the youngest of the group, said — according to ABC. “I drank water to make me full.”

Now, as the boys and their coach recover from the incident, they all agree on one thing: they’ll never go into the cave again.

“If someone invites me, I would say no,” Chanthawong said. “I would only join them from in front of the cave as a guide to other people.”

Our opponent, Zack, tried to punch her in the face, but we were able to successfully time a hold counter attack, and Kasumi twisted Zack’s incoming hand, dropping him to the ground. Lewis Hamilton, British Formula One racing driver and four-time Formula One World Champion, is gearing up to introduce a men’s capsule collection in collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. They will introduce the first Tommy x Lewis collection for fall retailing.
The news comes a month after Hamilton was named a global brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger Men’s, starting this spring, as reported. Hilfiger is owned by PVH Corp.
Hamilton revealed the collection logo to fans at an exclusive event in Shanghai on Wednesday, putting his own stamp on the Tommy Hilfiger flag. The Tommy x Lewis flag was unveiled in an art installation that shared the inspirations behind the design, including street art influences and projections of Hamilton’s own body art. The logo is a take on Hilfiger’s signature flag trademark positioned behind Hamilton’s initials in navy, reflecting the brand’s colors and the font used in the British Formula One racer’s own tattoos.
The collection will be revealed to editors on May 7.

At Least 14 Dead in Bus Crash Involving Canadian Junior Hockey Team

At least 14 people are dead after a passenger bus carrying a junior league hockey team in western Canada’s Saskatchewan province crashed into a tractor-trailer on Friday, police confirmed to PEOPLE on Saturday.

The Humboldt Broncos, a team made up of athletes aged 16 to 20, were on their way to a Saskatchewan Junior League playoff game in the town of Nipawin, according to a statement on the team’s website.

Police said on Friday the crash happened on Highway No. 35,  approximately 18 miles north of Tisdale.

A total of 28 people — including team members, coaches, and the bus driver — were on board at the time of the crash, authorities confirmed in a statement Saturday morning. 14 were killed while the other 14 were sent to a local hospital where they are being treated with “a variety of injuries.” Of the 14 hospitalized, three are in critical condition.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke out about the tragedy on Twitter.

“I cannot imagine what these parents are going through,” Trudeau tweeted, “and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy, in the Humboldt community and beyond.”

“We are not confirming the identity of the victims at this time, including whether the deceased are players or coaches,” a statement from Royal Canadian Mounted Police said. “We will be working with our partner agencies to ensure families are notified as soon as possible and the appropriate supports are provided to families and others who are impacted by this extremely tragic incident.”

Family members of those on the bus are being asked to call 306-752-8700 for more information. A gathering spot for families has been set up at the Nipawin Apostolic Church.

The scene is still being investigated by Nipawin RCMP, police officers from the surrounding detachments and investigators, police said.

Broncos president Kevin Garinger shared his condolences in a statement on the team’s website.

“Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the families of our staff and athletes as well as to all who have been impacted by this horrible tragedy,” his statement read. “Our Broncos family is in shock as we try to come to grips with our incredible loss.”

Rugby-Inspired Aedelhard Wants Men to Join Its Team

The new men’s wear brand Aedelhard believes rugby teaches important values and lessons to its participants, and has aligned itself with the sport. That the game can be intensely competitive and at times violent is not lost on the brand.
“Beneath the seeming barbarism and occasional debauchery often associated with rugby lives a sport rooted in respect and a strict code of conduct,” Aedelhard declares on its web site. “It’s a game that instills teamwork and discipline.”
The sport has given the world one of the most enduring pieces of fashion — the rugby shirt. It’s that side of rugby that Aedelhard is tapping into, the “sport, intellect, sophistication and gentlemanly conduct — all derived from the game,” said Darrell Kopke, Aedelhard’s cofounder and chief executive officer.

“Dressing well is a form of good manners, and we’re simplifying the process with pieces that are easy to combine, accessibly priced, well-made and designed with intention,” added Michael Nguyen, cofounder and creative director.

Aedelhard wants to disrupt the technical apparel market with elevated, classically tailored and functional performance apparel. The company considers its pricing disruptive, with trousers retailing for $ 150, blazers, $ 380 and shirting, $ 120. “We’re bringing tailoring for the masses,” said Kopke.
The label was conceived

Dodo Bar Or and Ada Kokosar Team Up for Dodo by Midnight Line

I’M EVERY WOMAN: What do you get when you put together Dorit “Dodo” Bar Or, an actress-turned-designer whose breezy summer clothes are a hit with fashion influencers like Chiara Ferragni; and Ada Kokosar, a stylist and fashion consultant who is branching out into shoes? A fabulous world that is a cross between “Dynasty” and Barbie’s closet.
Gowns with snaking embroidery designs and a polka-dot metallic pink jumpsuit were just some of the looks featured in their capsule collection, christened Dodo by Midnight, shown on a handful of models standing on a tiny metallic carousel during Milan Fashion Week.
It marked Kokosar’s first clothing collaboration under her Midnight label, which made its debut last season with a shoe line for Cesare Paciotti. She reprised the plastic-wrapped Cinderella slippers that are becoming a brand signature, augmenting them with extravagant tulle ruffles.
Kokosar plans to work with new designers each season. “Midnight for me is a factory, it’s a collective of creative, unconventional minds that merge together,” she said. “It’s a space, a label, where we can create things where we can drop our rules that we ingrain from society and the mask that we have to wear.”
Both women felt it was liberating to embrace a

MILAN — Two of the most stylish boys in the world are collaborating on a special project.
Pharrell Williams and Lapo Elkann have teamed up to create a co-branded clothing and eyewear collection, which is expected to be unveiled in June.
The agreement was signed between Williams’ hip streetwear fashion label Billionaire Boys Club and Elkann’s Italia Independent.
The Italian firm will produce under license the co-branded collection, which is meant to reflect the style of both companies.
“We are all very excited to enter this new chapter of eyewear with Billionaire Boys Club and Italia Independent,” said Williams. “Lapo and I have been friends for years so I’m glad we finally get to work together on this project.”
This partnership marks an important step in the re-launch of Italia Independent, which, along with consolidating its eyewear business, aims to expand its fashion offering.

Lapo Elkann

Elkann paid respect to Williams’ work with his brand “because it tells a story that goes beyond the simple sale of clothing: it’s a club of people united by determination, love and enthusiasm for what they do, which are values that have also driven Italia Independent for ten years,” said Elkann. “The two creative teams will work with great empathy to create a collection that will

Team Kith

Over the course of two years, the staff at Kith has grown from 50 to almost 200 employees. It’s been good for business, but Fieg admitted that leading this many people has been an adjustment.
“I’m a perfectionist, so making sure things are perfect is really difficult,” said Fieg. “I can’t be in my Miami store with a salesperson as they are speaking about the new product that comes in. I can influence, but I can’t control how people feel and think about the product we spend so much time on.”
According to Fieg, the conversations he has with Kith staffers have made him think differently and have also helped drive the business forward.
Here, WWD speaks to Kith team members about what they’ve learned from Fieg and how they see the business evolving.
Nick Annacone, vice president
Year Started: 2011
WWD: How do you complement Ronnie?
Nick Annacone: Ronnie is very much the dreamer and I do whatever I can to help bring his ideas to fruition. With this said, I am extremely pragmatic and really try to follow the “measure twice, cut once” mantra. In such a fast-paced environment, I understand the importance of keeping things moving and trying to stay a step ahead.
