Chiara Ferragni Named Guest Editor of Upcoming Grazia Italia Issue

FERRAGNI-FICATION: It seems the world can’t have enough of Chiara Ferragni. Exactly a year after hosting the pop version of a royal wedding, the personality behind The Blonde Salad digital platform and the Chiara Ferragni Collection footwear and accessories label will once again mirror Meghan Markle assuming the role of guest editor in chief for a magazine. Instead of Vogue, Ferragni will curate the upcoming edition of weekly magazine Grazia Italia, which will hit newsstands on Aug. 29. This is the first time the publication names a guest editor. Ferragni broke the news on Thursday via Instagram. In a range of Instagram Stories, she revealed the issue will be “all about inspiring women, diversity, cyberbullying” and other matters close to her heart and that could inspire her 17.2 million followers. “I want to dedicate this issue to my followers that have been my strength and super-loyal during the years,” she added before thanking Grazia Italia’s editor in chief Silvia Grilli for the opportunity and for being “a big support for me since the beginning.” On her hand, Grilli teased the collaboration in the magazine’s current issue, released on Thursday. In her editor’s letter she defined Ferragni as “one of the firsts to understand the potentiality of

EXCLUSIVE: Aitor Throup Announces Upcoming New Men’s Label

Aitor Throup is gearing up to debut a men’s wear label, WWD has learned.
The Buenos Aires-born and Burnley, England-raised designer, known for his highly conceptualized fashion, said this project marks “the biggest thing I’ve ever worked on, I’m nearing the completion of my vision, which has been 15 years in the making, and I’m near the end of it.”
The new men’s brand, the name of which is being kept under wraps, will make its debut later this year before fully seeing the light in 2020.
Throup, who had served as G-Star’s executive creative director overseeing the men’s and women’s mainline ranges and the Raw Research men’s line since 2016, last year parted ways amicably with the Amsterdam-based label co-owned by Pharrell Williams.
Prior to his appointment at G-Star, Throup had launched his conceptual men’s label New Object Research, which debuted on the London Fashion Week: Men’s calendar in 2013. In 2016 the designer hosted a performance-presentation hybrid in a deconsecrated church in Marylebone.
The men’s label blending fashion, design and the arts paved the way for the development of the new project debuting this year. “New Object Research was a part of this process, this exploration that has allowed me to develop a

DVF to Stop Using Fur in All Upcoming Collections

Diane von Furstenberg has decided to cease production and use of fur in all upcoming collections.
Concerned about the ethical and environmental impact of using farmed fur in fashion collections, and responding to the consumer’s desire for ethical fashion, DVF has partnered with the Humane Society of the United States and PETA to end the exploitation of animal fur in fashion
“It’s time for us to make this change and accept responsibility to ensure that we don’t promote killing animals for the sake of fashion,” said Sandra Campos, chief executive officer of DVF. “We are committed to supporting the shift to a more ethical and sustainable fashion industry by providing the consumer with innovative and sophisticated alternatives. Beginning with 2019, DVF will not incorporate the use of exotic skins, mohair, angora or fur.”
Von Furstenberg added, “I am so excited that technology has provided us a way to feel as glamorous with faux fur.”
Less than 15 percent of DVF’s fall collections since fall 2015 have included fur, angora and skin. DVF will continue to use ethically sourced shearling given the byproduct nature of this material.
DVF is working with the Council of Fashion Designers of America on a sustainability roadmap, and also focusing on innovative

Dierks Bentley’s Dishes on Upcoming Seven Peaks Music Festival: ‘If Nobody Else Comes I’m Going to Have Fun’

For Dierks Bentley, all the magic is in the small details. So when planning his upcoming Seven Peaks music festival, he wanted authenticity in every component.

“If nobody else comes, I’m going to have fun,” Bentley tells PEOPLE. “That’s the goal — just me having fun and doing something really personal that has meaning for me.”

That’s why the “Burning Man” singer decided to return to Colorado — where he recorded his last studio album The Mountain — and host a music festival in the middle of the Rockies. “Selfishly, I set it there just because it gives me another excuse to go back to one of my favorite states in the country,” he admits.

However, in planning the inaugural festival, Bentley was everything but selfish. His fans were the priority when he was considering a campground that could fit his fans’ campers and cars (“some of these fans are going to drive the biggest vehicle they can find”), the stage design, and the musical lineup, which includes a kickoff ’90s night featuring headliner Clint Black and a special performance from Bentley’s cover band Hot Country Knights.

“When you’re making a festival that has your name on it you definitely want to include all those elements that make it your own, so having a ’90s night is right up my alley—very me, very my band,” Bentley says. “It’s wild what’s going on with that genre of music. We’ll throw a few of those songs into our set and you’ve got kids — 16, 17 year-olds — that are singing along to these songs that were made before they were born. There’s definitely a resurgence in that area of country music and we’re really excited to be the only festival that has a designated night for that genre.”

Alongside ’90s night on Friday, Aug. 31, Miranda Lambert‘s scheduled headlining performance on Saturday with Brothers Osborne among the openers, and Bentley’s closeout show on Sunday night, he also wanted to give fans multiple stages where they could enjoy music. The beach stage (complete with a lifeguard chair, sand and a lake in the middle of the campground) will be manned by a DJ and references the summertime vibes that go hand-in-hand with country music. The Whiskey Row stage, named after his franchise bar and restaurant, will feature upcoming artists and bluegrass musicians, which Bentley exclusively tells PEOPLE is the “lifeblood of the genre.”

That stage will feature acts Abby Anderson, Boy Named Banjo, Brown & Gray, Cody Canada, Dillon Carmichael, Travis Denning, Walker McGuire, Mipso and Rapidgrass.

WATCH THIS: Dierks Bentley Launches Clothing Line with Flag & Anthem

Bentley was so invested in the fan experience of the festival he wanted to make sure there was easy access to sunblock, water and ice, and even went so far as to make sure there were more female port-a-potties than men’s because he “didn’t want to see girls waiting in line.”

“When you make a record your attention to detail isn’t so much for the fans sometimes as it’s more for you, just so you can sleep at night knowing that you gave it all you had,” Bentley says. “Whether that’s the type of fonts you’re using on your credits, the way you say thank you, how you list your name as a songwriter on a song. I list my name last—just these little details matter to me. It’s the same with this festival.”

Even though choosing a venue in Buena Vista, Colorado, held a personal tie, Bentley admits he also made the decision with the fans in mind because there are so many activities people can enjoy during the day, including biking, hiking and rafting.

“If I had to describe my best day it would be being outside,” Bentley says. “I’m curious to see how I’m going to hold up because I’m planning on doing all the stuff during the day and then jumping up on a lot of the stages, including the Whiskey Row stage. I also wanna jam and hang out with the campers at the campground and try to get some sort of festival jam session tradition started.”

But Bentley is no stranger to making the most of his life on the road. In late July, he went mountain climbing in Wyoming the same day he had a show in Boise, Idaho, and then flew to Palm Springs, California after his performance.

“It’s going to be an adventure for me on many levels — a marathon of sorts — but you know, I am not afraid to pack it all in,” Bentley tells PEOPLE.

As for what to bring to Seven Peaks over Labor Day weekend? All Bentley suggests is “positive vibes and an attitude where you’re open to having a lot of fun. Oh, and beer and ice are essential items.”

“This isn’t about making money,” Bentley says. “This is about trying to create a really genuine, authentic, awesome experience for the fans.”

Tickets for the Seven Peaks music festival are available here.

PILATI’S ENCORE: Stefano Pilati has taken to Instagram Stories for the second time, revealing teaser images that suggest that his latest fashion project — revealed in June — is progressing, although he has yet to detail plans for it.
“For the second Instagram Stories story of Random Identities, the focus is on the fashion, as in the art used as the background of the 15 looks,” Pilati said to WWD over e-mail. Guo Pei to Be Focus of SCAD Exhibition and Upcoming Rizzoli Book

EXHIBIT SET: The Savannah College of Art & Design has confirmed the dates for what will be Guo Pei’s first solo museum exhibition.
The show will bow Sept. 7 at SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film in Atlanta, and will feature 30 of the designer’s intricate gowns, footwear and accessories, including the imperial yellow gown worn by Rihanna at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in 2015. Although the musician and designer have not collaborated since that most-photographed choice, the blizzard of publicity their pairing established two years ago introduced Pei’s work to millions.
SCAD is counting on a New York-based creative collective HOWL that includes three photographers who are alumni — Jim Lind, Patrick O’Brien and Elliot Ross — to capture Pei’s designs in a monograph. The fourth member Forest Woodward is the only non-SCAD graduate. While individually the lensmen have worked with Patagonia, Carhartt and National Geographic, among other well-known brands, this is the four-year-old group’s first major fashion undertaking. Due out in December by Rizzoli, the book will also be a first for the designer. Along with photos of archival pieces, there will be a total of 44 images including some shot on old plantations such

Aretha Franklin Says She’ll ‘Retire’ After Releasing Her Upcoming Album

Aretha Franklin has said she plans to retire, but not before she releases her next album in the fall.

“I must tell you, I am retiring this year,” the legendary singer told Detroit’s Local 4. “I will be recording, but this will be my last year in concert. This is it.”

The “Respect” singer expressed her excitement about the new album ― set for release in September ― telling the outlet she “can’t wait to get in the studio.” On top of that, the Queen of Soul plans to tour with the album (on select dates) for about six months.

By the sound of it, “retirement” seems to be a loose term for Franklin, who also admitted she’ll do “some select things” here and there. Most of all, though, she just wants to spend time with her grandchildren.

The music icon said the announcement is bittersweet for her because she’s been in the industry for so long, but it appears she’s looking forward to slowing down.

“I feel very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from, and where it is now,” Franklin told Local 4. “I’ll be pretty much satisfied, but I’m not going to go anywhere and just sit down and do nothing. That wouldn’t be good, either.”

Bless you, Aretha Franklin.

North West Shows Off Designs For The Upcoming Yeezy Kid’s Line

While you were binge watching The Crown and lamenting the state of our world, North West was apparently busy becoming the world’s tiniest fashion designer.

According to Kim Kardashian’s snapchat posts yesterday, the long-awaited Yeezy kid’s line is on the way from Kanye West.

And it should come as a shock to no one that 3-year-old North, who has long rocked mini versions of Yeezy clothes, helped design it.

North is seen wearing an adorable sequined yellow dress and a matching shearling coat, while Kardashian can be heard asking, “Is that a Yeezy yellow shearling?” and “Hey, where’s our model?”

“Mommy and daddy are doing a kid’s line and these are some of the pieces,” Kardashian says in one clip. “Northie picked out the colors and the fabric.”

Wait. Hold on a second. Picked out the colors and the fabric? For the Kim and Kanye clothing line? We just stopped obsessing over brother Saint’s teeny tiny Yeezy 350s. Now we have to wrap our minds around the fact that this line, which we’ve been waiting for for what feels like forever, was designed in part by our favorite micro style icon? It’s almost too much to handle.

So far, no launch date has been given. But as this tweet shows, there’s no stopping the excitement of fans.

Gucci Teases Upcoming Campaign on Instagram

Gucci’s upcoming campaign seems to involve spirit animals and a lot of dancing. Last week the fashion house released nine short videos of young men and women during a casting in London to appear in the label’s new pre-fall 2017 ad campaign.
Aged 19 to 23, the protagonists of the clips are asked different questions, including “what’s your spirit animal?” and “what does it mean to have a soul?” before showing their dancing skills on Duke Browner’s track “Crying Over You.”

While the answers are all different and peculiar, listing elephants, bulls, tigers and baby giraffes as spirit animals and highlighting how having a soul means “to be you in the purest form,” the nine modeling newcomers all share the trait of being people of color, which may hint at a pre-fall campaign celebrating diversity.

The tease has already sparked a strong social media reaction, dividing the audience into supporters of the concept, who find it fun and inspiring, and into those who consider the choice of casting exclusively people of color not diverse enough.

A&E Cancels Upcoming KKK Docuseries Over Cash Payments

The A&E cable television network said on Saturday it has canceled an upcoming documentary about efforts to help Ku Klux Klan members break away from the hate group, after learning cash payments were made “to facilitate access” to the film’s subjects.

The documentary series, “Escaping the KKK,” completed after a year and a half in production, was set to premiere on Jan. 10 and air in eight parts, capped by a town hall-style special broadcast on ending hate in America.

The decision to scrub the project came shortly after A&E said it had changed the series title to “Escaping the KKK,” from “Generation KKK,” in order to better reflect that the film was a work of documentary journalism rather than realty-TV entertainment.

The network also had announced a partnership with a civil rights group, Color of Change, which was to produce accompanying segments featuring civil rights leaders to furnish context for the documentary series.

As described by A&E, the series was intended to examine “anti-hate extractors,” who work to help individuals extricate themselves from the Klan, a white-supremacist group with a long history of violence, primarily against blacks, but also Jews, immigrants and other groups.

The film drew controversy soon after plans for the series were unveiled earlier this week, with actors Wendell Pierce and Ellen Pompeo among those criticizing the project on social media and Pierce calling for a network boycott, Variety reported.

Pierce demanded A&E provide evidence that the documentary subjects were not paid for their participation, as subjects of reality TV programs typically would be, and the network insisted that no such payments were made, according to Variety.

On Saturday, however, the network acknowledged learning from its third-party producers that some cash payments were made to Klan members who participated in the documentary “in order to facilitate access” to them.

The network statement said the payments, though “understood to be nominal,” were nevertheless “a direct violation of A&E’s policies and practices for a documentary.”

The Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacist groups, long relegated to the fringe of American discourse, have gained growing attention during the past year as their leaders vocally embraced the presidential candidacy of Republican Donald Trump and exulted in his Nov. 8 victory.

Trump has disavowed their support, though he has appointed Steve Bannon, former head of the website Breitbart News – a forum for a range of far right-wing opinion-makers, including white nationalists, neo-Nazis and anti-Semites – to serve as his chief White House strategist.

Jennifer Lawrence Plays The ‘Trainwreck’ In Her Upcoming Comedy With Amy Schumer

After seeing this summer’s “Trainwreck,” Jennifer Lawrence knew that she and Schumer were meant to be friends forever. So she sent off a quick email, one thing led to another, and now they’re writing a movie together. But this time, Amy Schumer is the normal one.

Lawrence revealed some more details about the plot of the film — in which she and the comedian play sisters – to Entertainment Tonight, confirming the script is ”dirty” and “real.”

“Amy, in this movie, she has it very together,” Lawrence said. “It’s her lifelong dream to be a flight attendant. She works at the airport. And I’m a mess.

The project came together so quickly, the Oscar winner explained, because both women feel comfortable sharing their blunt, honest opinions with each other. “We both have very similar senses of humor, obviously, and aren’t afraid,” she said. “Which is a good and bad thing, because I don’t know what our movie will be rated.”

Whatever the case, Lawrence put off any idea that she might involve any of her “Hunger Games” co-stars (and friends!) Liam Hemsworth or Josh Hutcherson in the project.

“No, no, no, no, no. There’s not really boys in it,” she said.

Bechdel test, check.

Andrew Lincoln Dropped His Script Over Crazy Upcoming ‘Walking Dead’ Episode

Look at the flowers, “Walking Dead” fans. Season 6 is going to blow your minds.

(Warning! Spoilers!)

The Season 6 premiere of “The Walking Dead” aired Sunday, and wow. After discovering an army of walkers trapped not far from Alexandria, Rick convinced everyone to follow his pretty insane idea to lead all the walkers away at once. Then, just when you think they’re finally in the clear, a mysterious horn sounded from the direction of Alexandria, leading all the walkers directly there.

Holy crud. And it’s about to get even more nuts.

The Huffington Post caught up with star Andrew Lincoln at the “Walking Dead” fan premiere. He said the show eclipses its zombie count from all of last season in the first three episodes of Season 6, and ”every single episode is like a season finale.”

“The fallout in those last 30 seconds sort of propels the story arc for the next maybe eight episodes, and get ready — because two and three are like body blows and then four spins out into this indie arthouse movie — then five, six, seven, eight – I think nine is the most crazy episode we’ve had. I dropped my script when I read it. I was just like, ‘Nooo! We’re doing that?'” said Lincoln. ”So yeah, it’s crazy. It’s amazing storytelling. I think [showrunner] Scott Gimple and the team have just outdone themselves this season.”

Yep. Time to get excited. And crazy episodes aren’t the only thing coming. Rick Grimes also told us a fallen friend is making a return to the show.

“The beard is definitely coming back. I was campaigning for it,” said Lincoln.

Hallelujah! It’s back! Rick Grimes‘ heavenly beard is back! Fear the beard, walkers.

Fear. The. Beard.

Leaked Upcoming 50 Shades of Grey Sequels!

Ever since EL James’ new masterwork “Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian” became a runaway bestseller, everyone who can read has been clambering for more! Luckily, these upcoming titles have just been leaked to me. (Caution: Spoilers.)

“Kavanagh: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Anastasia’s Best Friend Kate Kavanagh”
In this retelling of the classic work we get to see the story from the point of view of Anastasia’s best friend and roommate, Kate. While you’ll miss out on much of the sex in this version, you’ll get a much deeper exploration of what it’s like being a recent female college graduate trying to make ends meet in post-recession Vancouver, Washington.

“Grace: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian’s Mom, Grace Trevelyan Grey”

This time the story is told from the perspective of Christian’s mom as she recounts what she knows of his S&M affair to her nosy Sunday book club.

“50 Shades of Shades
This one takes the old story and adds a new twist. All the characters are super cool and wear dark shades, even indoors when they are making love. The best line: “Anastasia, drop your panties” he said, “but leave the shades.”

“Desk Lamp: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by a Desk Lamp That Anastasia and Christian Knock Over While They’re Doing It”
Sort of self-explanatory.

“Ghosts of Grey”
This one is a real mindbender–delving into the world of Paranormal Romance. It’s the original story of “Fifty Shades” told from the point of view of Christian’s (ever-present but unseen) guardian angel–a deeply repentant Adolf Hitler working to earn his redemption.

“Fifty Shades Rex: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian Grey’s Corgi”
Here’s your chance to see what things look like from below. Wink Wink! The twist? Rex is 15-years-old and blind in his right eye from glaucoma. He lost a leg to cancer a year back, so he has to move around on wheels strapped to his torso. At the end Ana puts him down.

“Ceiling Fan: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by The Ceiling Fan in The Red Room of Pain”

At first I thought this was just gonna be a rip off of “Desk Lamp.” But as I started reading I realized there was a major difference. In this one, the character of Ceiling Fan is both sentient and gendered. The most intriguing line in my opinion is this: “I’m so happy to be the one who keeps Christian from working up too much of a sweat while he’s participating in his BDSM lifestyle,” said Ceiling Fan to herself. “God, how I hate you, Anastasia!”

Dave Coulier’s Upcoming Wedding Is Set To Be A ‘Full House’ Reunion

Here’s some big “Full House” news: Dave Coulier is getting married in July and his wedding is gearing up to be a “Full House” reunion! (Contain your excitement, please).

US Weekly reported that Coulier has been secretly engaged to long-time girlfriend Melissa Bring for months and their wedding is set for July 2 in Montana.

“Melissa has been my best friend since I met her nine years ago,” Coulier told US Weekly. “I feel like the luckiest man on the planet. I get to marry my best friend, and she doesn’t mind that I have a really bad gas problem.”

According to E! News, who also confirmed the engagement, Coulier gave Bring an engagement ring in late December, but didn’t actually pop the question until New Year’s Day.

As for the wedding, E! reports that John Stamos, Bob Saget, Lori Laughlin, Candance Cameron-Bure and other “Full House” alum will be in attendance for the week-long celebration which will include a pig roast, river day, rodeo night, fishing, hiking in Yellowstone and a barbecue.

Sadly, it looks like a day spent binge-watching “Full House” on Netflix will not be on the itinerary. As Coulier recently told HuffPost Live, “Do you know how drunk I’d have to get in order to watch a full episode of ‘Full House’ at this point?”

Fingers crossed it’s wedding-level drunk.
