All the High Fashion Moments From Beyoncé’s ‘Spirit’ Music Video

Beyoncé’s “Spirit” music video is visually striking, both for its picturesque landscape and high-fashion moments.
Filmed in the Grand Canyon, Beyoncé is joined by a host of dancers and her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, dressed in looks ranging from Valentino’s spring 2019 couture collection to up-and-coming international brands, including Canadian designer Mark Fast and Brazilian brand Maison Alexandrine. The looks were styled by Zerina Akers.

The music video was debuted Tuesday evening and is a part of the upcoming “The Lion King” live-action reboot’s soundtrack, which Beyoncé curated and produced. Beyoncé herself voices adult Nala in the film and joined the film’s cast for the Los Angeles premiere on July 10, where she had a mother-daughter twinning moment with Blue Ivy, and for the London premiere on Sunday, where Beyoncé and husband Jay Z met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The “Spirit” music video starts off with Beyoncé sitting in the desert wearing a color-blocked, exaggerated ruffle look from Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Valentino spring 2019 couture collection, which celebrated black women. She was joined by Blue Ivy, who wore a similar lilac-colored ruffle dress.

Amy Schumer Shares Ultrasound Video of Her Baby: ‘It Has So Much Energy — That’s Why I’m Puking’

Say hello to Amy Schumer‘s baby on the way!

The pregnant actress and comedian, 37, shared an ultrasound video on Instagram Monday, over two weeks after her appointment as the footage was dated Oct. 16.

“It’s moving all around! Oh my God, oh my God, see it has so much energy — that’s why I’m puking every day,” Schumer said as she excitedly watched the screen, which showed her child’s arms and legs in motion.

Much like her Oct. 22 pregnancy announcement, the video had a secondary purpose as Schumer urged fans and followers to vote in the Nov. 6 midterm elections.

“Happy Election Eve!” the mother-to-be, who is married to chef Chris Fischer, captioned her ultrasound footage. “You can look up your polling place + hours by texting LOCATION to 21333 And you can look up a sample ballot to be prepared at Make a plan to #vote and let’s make history tomorrow!”

In addition to recently showing off her baby bump for the first time on Instagram, Schumer has continued to update her fans about her pregnancy.

On Friday, the I Feel Pretty star discussed being in her second trimester while performing stand up in Las Vegas. “I don’t like it,” she said, later adding, “I’ve had a really tough pregnancy so far.”

Joking that she has “a half a year” left of pregnancy, Schumer also said everyone is a “psychic” when it comes to the sex of her baby. “It’s a 50/50 shot. It’s better odds than in Vegas. I don’t know what it’s going to be. I think it’s going to be a baby,” she said.

Girl, 16, Suffers Broken Ribs After Being Pushed Off Bridge in Dramatic Video

A 16-year-old girl sustained multiple injuries when she fell dozens of feet from a bridge after being unexpectedly pushed by a friend, and the incident has now sparked a police investigation, PEOPLE confirms.

In footage published by multiple outlets including KATU and Today, Jordan Holgerson is shown standing along a ledge of a bridge at Moulton Falls in Yacolt, Washington. The KATU video shows Jordan telling her group of friends, “No, I won’t go in,” as they pressure her to jump into the river nearly 60 feet below.

Yet, Jordan’s friends continue to press her in the video, and after she declines to jump once again, an unidentified woman is seen shoving Jordan while her back is turned. The push caused her to fall off the bridge.

A few seconds later, the high school student hit the water with a loud smack that can be heard in the video.

“I have five broken ribs, air bubbles in my chest, and I have a punctured lung,” Jordan told KGW8 from PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, where she is recovering.

RELATEDWoman Drifts for 45 Minutes in Terrifying Parasailing Accident Before Crashing, Breaking 4 Ribs

Sgt. Brent Waddell, a spokesman for the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, tells PEOPLE there is an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Jordan told KGW8 that she likely lost consciousness for a moment before hitting the water.

“In midair, I think I might’ve blacked out,” she said. “I was awake and aware when I hit the water.”

After plunging into the river, Jordan said someone nearby jumped into the water to retrieve her, and she was then transported to the hospital.

The original video of the incident, which was posted to YouTube, was removed after it went viral.

Jordan’s mother, Genelle Holgerson, told the Thoroughbred Daily News that her daughter is still in pain and is “very tired,” and they don’t know how long she will remain in the hospital. But the family feels fortunate Jordan’s injuries weren’t as severe as they easily could have been.

“She is lucky she is not paralyzed or dead,” her mom added to Thoroughbred Daily. “We’re lucky she is going to recover and not have permanent injuries.”

“I’m in a lot of pain without medication,” Jordan told Today in an interview that aired Friday.

Genelle said the family knows the identity of the friend who pushed Jordan, and is calling for her to turn herself in.

Tom Brady Meets 3-Year-Old Twins Named Tom and Brady — and the Video Is Adorable

Thomas and Brady Caffyn were Patriots fans before they were even born!

The 3-year-old twins were named after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady by their parents, Brian and Grace Caffyn, CBS Sports reports, and they had the chance to meet him on Thursday at the opening day of the Patriots training camp. The family traveled all the way from their home in Hong Kong to Foxborough, Massachusetts, about 8,000 miles, for the special moment.

Cameras were on hand to capture the meeting, and the toddlers’ adorable antics later showed up in a video shared on the NFL team’s YouTube and Twitter accounts. Brady the footballer first greets the twins (“What’s up, dude?”) before excitedly telling them, “But I’m Tom, too! We got the same name … It’s pretty cool, actually.”

Brian shared in the video that he and his wife chose their kids’ names because they were “charged up” after the Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl in 2015. The twins were born two months later, and they thought the tribute would be less “crazy” because they live in Hong Kong. What’s more, mom Grace added that the kids’ middle names are Julian and Edelman after the Patriots’ wide receiver.

The athlete has played for the Patriots for 18 seasons, his entire NFL career.

He’s been married to Gisele Bundchen since 2009, and they have two children, Benjamin Rein, 8, and Vivian Lake, 5. He also has son John “Jack” Edward Thomas, 10, from a previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.

10 (Unintentionally) Terrifying Video Games

Video games can be plenty scary. Games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and PT all contain the stuff nightmares are made of.

But sometimes, games are scary not so much by design as by accident. Here are 10 games from well outside the horror genre that succeed far more than they should at being deeply disturbing.

Sugarland’s Steamy ‘Babe’ Video Treatment Was Taylor Swift’s Idea: ‘She Reached Out to Us’

Taylor Swift is the gift that just keeps on giving for Sugarland: Bandmates Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush reveal that Swift is the one who conceptualized the newly released music video for their Swift co-written single, “Babe.”

“She actually reached out to us and said, ‘I’ve got a great idea for the video,’ and she wrote the treatment,” Nettles, 43, told PEOPLE exclusively Wednesday at the CMT Awards.

“And we looked at it,” Bush, 48, added, “and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this is awesome.’”

On top of that, Swift, 28, wrote herself a featured role, playing a red-haired femme fatale in the early 1960s-inspired video, which debuted on Saturday night. Shot only a couple of weeks ago on the Los Angeles set of the AMC hit series Mad Men, it also stars Nettles as the wronged wife and actor Brandon Routh, who plays her philandering husband; Bush appears in the video in multiple roles.

RELATED: Sugarland and Taylor Swift Release Breakup Song ‘Babe’ — Find Out the Story Behind the Track

The betrayal song, co-written with Train’s Pat Monahan, was originally slated to appear on Swift’s 2012 album, Red, but it didn’t make the final cut. She offered it to Sugarland, who are Big Machine label-mates, for their just-released album, Bigger, and then volunteered to sing background vocals.

“She loves this song,” said Nettles. “She loves our recording of it. She’s been such a champion of ours, not only for many, many years, but also where this project is concerned. She’s just super excited that we’re doing it.”

Monahan was equally thrilled with the country duo’s recording. “Some of you already know that @sugarland has a new single out called #babe that sounds awesome,” he wrote on Instagram after the song was released in April. “I was lucky enough to have written it with @taylorswift and I want to thank Taylor for being so kind, sweet and talented and letting me be a part of her huge life.”

RELATED: Taylor Swift’s Upcoming Sugarland Single ‘Just Might Be’ Inspired by a Previous Relationship

Though Swift had the original idea for the video, the duo says they got together before the shoot to collaborate on ideas. “She’s such a pro,” Nettles said, “and she’s easy-going.”

The filming itself was “pretty fun,” Bush told PEOPLE. “It’s great being in such a large-budget sort of medium for this and to be totally relaxed with all the other artists.”

Sugarland has just launched their first tour in six years, and Nettles and Bush both say they feel like they haven’t skipped a beat.

The partners say they’ve already experienced audiences singing along with their new material. “So the excitement for the new music is really palpable,” Nettles said.

Though all seemed to skip the over-the-top couture designer duds that stars like Cardi B, Rihanna, and Katy Perry costumed themselves in for the event’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” theme, the KarJenners found their own way to stand out.

Kardashian West, 37, looked like liquid gold in her custom chainmail Versace dress featuring crosses embroidered on the bodice and hip. She teamed the look with double cross necklaces, super long extensions and a Cleopatra-like makeup look featuring a smokey cat eye and a very ’90s over-lined lip that would make co-host Donatella Versace  proud.

Kendall, 22, rocked an off-the-shoulder ruched couture top with sheer elbow-length gloves and matching “long train” couture pants designed for her by close friend, Off-White creative director Virgil Abloh.

The model was “reminiscent of an angelic cloud sought to signify Roman Catholicism in renaissance art – embodying purity and delicacy of a modern angel,” according the release sent by the brand.

YouTube Star Logan Paul Apologizes for Sharing Video of Apparent Suicide Victim

YouTube personality Logan Paul is apologizing after facing outrage over a controversial video shared to his page that appeared to show the body of an alleged suicide victim in Japan.

The 22-year-old social media star — who boasts 15 million followers on YouTube, has endorsement deals with HBO and Pepsi, and appeared on a recent episode of Top Chef — came under fire Sunday for posting a graphic video filmed in Aokigahara, a forest at Mount Fuji’s base that is often referred to as “suicide forest” due to the high number of suicides that occur there.

Titled “We found a dead boy in the Japanese Suicide Forest,” the since-deleted 15-minute clip reportedly began with an intro from Paul boasting about the disturbing content before showing footage of what appeared to be a dead body with its face blurred out.

“This is not clickbait. This is the most real vlog I’ve ever posted to this channel,” Paul said, New York Magazine reported. “I think this definitely marks a moment in YouTube history because I’m pretty sure this has never hopefully happened to anyone on YouTube ever. Now with that said: Buckle the f— up, because you’re never gonna see a video like this again!”

While Paul later made reference to the seriousness of suicide, depression and mental illness in his video — even linking to the American Society for Suicide Prevention in the clip’s description — criticism from his audience, who are mostly teens, came swiftly, many asking YouTube to suspend his account.

“Suicide is not a joke. Suicide is not a way to gain views. Suicide is not to be taken lightly. What Logan Paul did is not acceptable,” one user wrote. “If you’re struggling, please take your health seriously and please seek help. Your life is worth so much. You are worth so much.”

Celebrities like Aaron Paul and Sophie Turner also spoke out, as did Paul’s fellow YouTubers.

“You disgust me,” Breaking Bad star Paul said. “I can’t believe that so many young people look up to you. So sad. Hopefully this latest video woke them up. You are pure trash. Plain and simple. Suicide is not a joke. Go rot in hell.”

“You’re an idiot,” added Turner, of Game of Thrones fame. “You’re not raising awareness. You’re mocking. I can’t believe how self-praising your “apology” is. You don’t deserve the success (views) you have. I pray to God you never have to experience anything like that man did.”

Paul issued an apology to his 3.9 million Twitter followers on Monday, claiming the intention of his video was to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

“Let’s start with this — I’m sorry,” he wrote. “This is a first for me. I’ve never faced criticism like this before, because I’ve never made a mistake like this before. I’m surrounded by good people and believe I make good decisions, but I’m still a human being. I can be wrong.”

“I didn’t do it for views. I get views. I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the Internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity. That’s never the intention,” he continued. “I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention and while I thought ‘if this video saves just ONE life, it’ll be worth it,’ I was misguided by shock and awe, as portrayed in the video. I still am.”

He ended his apology by asking his fans to understand his mistake, and assuring them it wouldn’t happen again.

“I do this s— every day. I’ve made a 15 minute TV show EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 460+ days. One may understand that it’s easy to get caught up in the moment without fully weighing the possible ramifications,” he said.

The statement concluded: “I’m often reminded of how big of a reach I truly have and with great power comes great responsibility… for the first time in my life I’m regretful to say I handled that power incorrectly. It won’t happen again. I love everyone. I believe in people. I’m out here. Peace.”

In the wake of the drama, the former Vine star turned musician was let go from his Disney Channel show, Bizaardvark.

Zac Efron Appears in New Bombas Video that Plays Up the Company’s Altruism

ZAC EFRON ACTS UP: Zac Efron’s latest big-screen role is in “The Greatest Showman,” but he also has a smaller one in Bombas’ latest video.

All three wear matching pajamas and different versions of Bombas socks. Lighthearted as his role is, Efron’s support is part of a three-and-a-half-minute flick that plays up the brand’s charitable ethos. Taking a page from Toms Shoes’ giving strategy of one pair purchased leads to one pair donated, Bombas has donated more than five millions pairs of socks to the needy since the company was started four years ago. After reading on Facebook that socks are the most requested clothing item in homeless shelters, Heath and Goldberg set out to try to do something about that.
Toms founder Blake Mycoskie is also featured in the video. This year, Bombas’ charitable efforts included providing 20,000 pairs of socks for hurricane relief efforts and 40,000 pairs to homeless veterans. Staffers at Bombas have donated their time to various causes, too, amassing 4,000 hours through volunteerism.

The Ladies of SNL Welcome You ‘to Hell’ with Anti-Sexual Harassment Music Video

In the past few months, a slew of powerful men — from Harvey Weinstein to Matt Lauer — have been outed as sexual predators. Though many may be shocked, the ladies of Saturday Night Live are here to tell you that this kind of bad behavior is nothing new.

Set in a Candy Land-like setting, host Saoirse Ronan and castmembers Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon posed as pop princesses to say “Welcome to Hell.”

“Hey there, boys. We know the last couple months have been frickin’ insane,” said Strong before Bryant chimed in, “All these big, cool, powerful guys are turning out to be — what’s the word —habitual predators?”

The catchy tune let guys in on a “secret that every girl knows” and addressed the harsh realities of navigating the world as a woman. As Bryant pointed out, “This ain’t a girl group. We just travel in a group for safety.”

The ladies also showed how women have been suppressed through history, featuring flashbacks to the Salem witch trials, the suffragette movement and the ’60s sexual revolution.

Leslie Jones then jumped in to remind everyone that “it’s like a million times worse for a woman of color,” to which they all agreed without hesitation.

“Now House of Cards is ruined, and that really sucks,” sang Ronan, referring to allegations against Kevin Spacey that led to the cancellation of his hit Netflix show. “Well here’s a list of stuff that’s ruined for us: parking, and walking, and Uber, and ponytails, and bathrobes, and night time, and drinking, and hotels, and vans.”

RELATED: Everything We Know About the Allegations Against Matt Lauer

SNL wasn’t done with the new wave of sexual harassment allegations. Later, on “Weekend Update,” Colin Jost briefly touched on Lauer, who was fired by the sketch comedy show’s network on Wednesday following sexual misconduct allegations.

“A new survey finds that four out of five Americans believe sexual harassment is happening in the workplace. While one out of five couldn’t respond because their boss’ penis was blocking the keyboard,” joked Jost. “I almost forgot about this week’s batch of predators. It’s just a whole segment of the news now. I’ve just got to announce the names every week like Powerball numbers.”

In the background, Lauer was shown alongside Russell Simmons and Garrison Keillor, both of whom faced their own sexual misconduct allegations over the last several days.

Focusing in on Lauer and his famously contentious relationship with former Today co-host Ann Curry, Jost joked, “On Wednesday, the Rockefeller Christmas tree was lit and so was Ann Curry.”

Men’s Wearhouse Creates Video for Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, Men’s Wearhouse is doing its part to shine a light on U.S. servicemen.
The specialty retailer has created a video for its web site and social media channels featuring a former Navy SEAL, as well as U.S. Army and Marine Corps veterans, fitted them in Awear-Tech suits from Kenneth Cole and asked them to work out while wearing the suits. As part of Operation Tailored Heroes initiative, the company made a donation to the charity of their choice.
Awear-Tech uses 37.5 Technology, a patented process that removes moisture in the vapor stage before liquid sweat can form, and is made from elastic fabrics that help the suit move.
The company brought the veterans to a CrossFit box and filmed them running on a treadmill, doing squats, dead lifts, ropes climbs and other exercises.
Kenneth Cole is also featured in the video detailing how a percentage of all sales from the Awear-Tech line is donated to various veterans organizations including Hire Heroes USA, an organization that helps U.S. military members, veterans and their spouses succeed in the civilian workforce. Cole said that since the line launched, nearly $ 2 million has been donated to the cause.
The line is available exclusively at Men’s Wearhouse stores.

Ashley Judd Shares Tips on How to Combat Sexual Harassment in Powerful PSA Video: ‘Feeling Safe Is Everything’

Ashley Judd wants to teach girls how to stand up to harassers.

In the wake of ongoing allegations of sexual misconduct against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, Judd has teamed up with Teen Vogue in a new video to help give tips on how to combat unwanted sexual advances.

“Inappropriate and unwelcome is probably my most favorite way of disrupting harassment as it’s happening,” she opened the video, explaining how the phrase can be used against street hecklers.

In another scenario, the actress demonstrated a more physical expression of “no.” She placed her hand in front of her chest, with her palm facing the camera, looking sternly at the camera as she declared, “STOP.”

Judd was one of the first actresses to come forward and publicly accuse Weinstein of sexual misconduct — helping inspire over 50 women to do the same.

In the video, the Kiss the Girls star also recounted her own experience with the movie mogul, in which he allegedly asked her to watch him shower during a meeting in his hotel room, admitting that she was surprised in her own strength in that moment.

“I don’t know how I had the moxie to say no, no, ugh…no…no,” she said.

Judd stressed that everyone’s reaction to sexual harassment will be different — and that’s perfectly fine.

“Our bargaining strategies and things we do in these moments are normal. Anything we do in these situations is really OK,” she said. “Feeling safe is everything. That’s essentially what is taken from us when we experience sexual harassment and micro-aggressions.”

Judd also shared a series of verbal responses to uncomfortable behavior, explaining that women should trust their gut when a situation might feel off.

“You are ineffably powerful,” she said. “If it feels wrong, it is wrong. It’s really OK to say, ‘that’s wrong.’”

Judd has been outspoken about her alleged experience with Weinstein since coming forward in a New York Times article earlier this month. On Friday, the actress accepted the Truth and Power award at the Women’s Media Center Awards in New York City.

“We’ve been able to talk about how perpetrators are shameless and they put their toxic shame onto their victims and we internalize it and take it around with us,” she said during her acceptance speech. “Until we say wait a minute, that was never my shame in the first place I’m going to put it back where it belongs which is on the sexual predator.”

In response to the lengthy allegations made against Weinstein, a spokesperson for the producer said, “Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein. Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”

Sweden’s Princess Estelle Shows Off Her Somersaults in Sweet New Video with Dad

Princess Estelle can somersault — and so can her dad!

The 5-year-old princess, who is second-in-line to the Swedish throne, showed off her skills in a sweet new video with her father, Prince Daniel. The Swedish-language clip starts with Daniel talking about Generation Pep, or Gen-Pep, a non-profit he founded with his wife, Crown Princess Victoria, that aims to “spread knowledge and engage both people and organizations in a joint effort to make it easier for children and young people to live a healthy life.”

At the video’s 30-second mark Estelle appears, looking gymnastics-ready in leggings and a sweatshirt. The two briefly chat before she goes to show her dad one of her somersaults. Not to be outdone, Daniel — who met his royal wife while working as a personal trainer — then does a somersault of his own. The video ends with the two chasing each other around the yard, with Daniel eventually picking Estelle up and swinging her around.

It’s been an exciting few months for the Swedish royal family. Victoria’s brother and Estelle’s uncle, Prince Carl Philip, and his wife, Princess Sofia, welcomed their second son, Prince Gabriel, on Aug. 31. Just four days before, Princess Madeleine announced that she’s expecting her third child.

New Moby Video Depicts Donald Trump’s Rise And A Violent Demise

Moby believes that it is “obvious” the world is “a millimeter away from collapse.”

That fearful idea may already be seared into his own mind, but the artist wants to make sure that you too are considering the possibility of existential demise. “We’re slowly building awareness and you just hope that the awareness comes before we end up on a planet that’s uninhabitable,” said Moby in a recent phone conversation about his new album, “More Fast Songs About the Apocalypse.”

But Moby understands that shouting “dire!” is not as newsworthy as “fire!” He expressed frustration that in the “bleeds it leads approach” to media, topical “dramatic” stories win attention over the slow killers, such as antibiotic resistance and climate change. Along with his fear that the world is ending is a fear that nobody cares to notice.

And so the artist isn’t afraid to provide a bit of drama and set a spark to get a point across.

In Moby’s new music video, “In This Cold Place,” President Donald Trump is depicted as a Nazi-esque leader that takes over the world with a missile-firing machine shaped like a swastika and dollar symbol. By the end of the video, the Trump machine blows up as the oppressed people of the world rise up against him.

English illustrator and animator Steve Cutts ― who Moby worked with before on the viral music video, “Are You Lost In The World Like Me?” ― created the video and the original concept with notes from Moby. “He’d send me a drawing, almost with a little hesitation, saying, ‘Oh, do you think we can get away with this?’” Moby recalled. “And I was like, yeah, why not, just make it, go as far you want.”

Moby further encouraged Cutts “to make it even more dystopian and more extreme.”

Art depicting violence against Trump’s likeness is a trigger for controversy at the moment. Just last month, Kathy Griffin released a photo of her holding a bloodied head that looked like Trump’s. Over the last week, The Public Theater in New York City presented a version of “Julius Caesar” with a Trump-esque character getting stabbed to death by other politicians.

Both garnered protesters and a loss of advertisers, even though the latter presentation was actually a cautionary tale warning against hot-blooded assassinations.

Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg had a music video where he aimed a gun at a clown that looked like Trump. Trump responded to Snoop Dogg’s video on Twitter by suggesting ― with an exclamation point as he is wont to do ― that the artist should be locked up.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama?” wrote the president. “Jail time!”

When HuffPost spoke with Moby in May, only the Snoop Dogg incident had occurred. Still, the artist seemed entirely committed to his artistic decision.

“The criteria that you would use to determine where you draw the line is simply what’s effective and what’s legal,” said Moby.

“And I don’t mean legal in a cowardly way. I mean legal in a way that would lead something to be taken off the internet. Because you can make the best content in the world but if YouTube and Facebook won’t let people see it, then what’s the point of having this great content.”

He explained that in his mind, that’s “the only place for me to draw the line.”

The criteria that you would use to determine where you draw the line is simply what’s effective and what’s legal.

The video, released under the Moby & The Void Pacific Choir moniker, presents a cautionary tale of trusting capitalist marketing. Satirical takes on the Care Bears and Mickey Mouse distract Americans while rich people suck all the money out of the economy.

Trump’s rise in the video makes a point about how even though he clearly used a violent and dangerous “machine” to take over the country, he simultaneously tried to present himself as a cuddly old man and safe politician – such as when he hosted “Saturday Night Live” or let Jimmy Fallon rumple his hair.

The final act of the music video presents an imagined scenario of the proletariat fighting back and toppling the aristocracy, but all these visuals of destruction are presented as metaphor rather than a direct call-to-arms. The final scene even suggests that this attack on the ruling regime only takes place in the protagonist’s mind.

“I think that we’ve managed [to] be on the legal side of copyright violation,” said Moby. “Like everything in there looks familiar but nothing is a direct rip-off of existing copyright. Or so I am hoping.”

In February, Moby garnered media attention when he claimed, on social media, that he had sources that confirmed to him that Trump is being “blackmailed” by the Russian government.

“Intelligence agencies around the world, and here in the u.s, [sic] are horrified by the incompetence of the trump administration, and are working to present information that will lead to high level firings and, ultimately, impeachment,” Moby wrote. He also stated that the Trump administration might try to use a war with Iran as a distraction.

Although Moby’s claim to have reliable sources seemed questionable at the time, the statement still gained widespread coverage. Variety reported that Moby’s followers drew a line between the resignation of then National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and his prediction.

“I didn’t want as much attention as I got,” Moby explained to HuffPost with a laugh. “I don’t want to be the sort of ad-hoc mouthpiece for disgruntled people who work at intelligence agencies. But I just, felt like I had an audience and [my friends in the intelligence community had] asked me to sort of just draw attention to what the administration was doing to try and drum up an excuse for war.”

For those still deeply curious about this Moby-as-Deep-Throat situation, here’s his full explanation:

Without saying too much, over the years [I have] somehow managed to become friends with people in intelligence services in different countries. And I met up with some of them a few months ago, and they were talking about the Russian dossier and how everyone associated with it is being killed off.

And the thing that kind of scared them the most, was the false pretenses that the Trump administration were drumming up to try to go to war. Specifically at that time they were concerned about, I think it was the USS Cole, was antagonizing Iran. And the Trump administration was hoping that Iran would do something that would justify us going to war with Iran.

So one reason I posted that was in my own way to let the administration know that the intelligence communities ― and I’m not sure the only person doing this ― but there was awareness of what they were doing.

And the other stuff I posted ― like in the post I said look at Michael Flynn ― and a week later he was fired. Just as a way, again I can’t say too much, but just as a way of sort of like, trying to add legitimacy to the other things that I was writing about.

Moby also revealed that his source was a “career intelligence person” that asked him to relay this information ― all of which is unconfirmed. According to Moby though, “the straw that really broke the camel’s back” in terms of Trump’s relationship with the intel community is when immediately after his inauguration, Trump “went to the FBI headquarters and gave a self-promoting speech in front of the wall of fallen heroes.”

“If Trump is impeached or forced to resign, you can kind of trace it back to that moment,” said Moby. “That’s when all the career intelligence officers just decided that Trump is terrible and has to go.”

The premiere of the music video for “In This Cold Place” comes less than a week after Moby surprise released his latest album, “More Fast Songs About the Apocalypse.” The song is the sixth on this new Moby & The Void Pacific Choir album.

“At this point in my life ― maybe I really shouldn’t say this ― but given the way the music business is, when I make a record I don’t really expect too many people, or anyone, to pay attention or buy what I’ve done,” said Moby of making this new album. “So to that end, the joy and satisfaction that I get from making records has to be the act of actually making them.

“Like in the old days,” Moby continued, “You could find satisfaction from selling millions of records, but now the happiness I get is just the act of making them and putting them out into the world. And just sort of seeing what happens.”

Specifically, Moby now believes he can reach his biggest audience through music videos. And in that that medium, he feels he can be more explicit about his political ideas.

“As time has passed, I’ve wanted more and more for my work to somehow reflect my political concerns and my world views and issues that are important to me,” said Moby. “I’ve realized that music videos are just a really good way of trying to do that.”

At this point in my life — maybe I really shouldn’t say this — but given the way the music business is, when I make a record I don’t really expect too many people, or anyone, to pay attention or buy what I’ve done.

Moby spends much of the “In This Cold Place” music video characterizing the similarly controversial ills of the food industry. The backlash from claiming meat is murder could certainly rival a backlash from depicting violence against Trump. Even liberals often aren’t receptive to the idea of veganism.

And yet, as a vocal proponent of veganism, Moby doesn’t shy away from including this cause in the work as well.

“I’ve been a vegan now for 30 years and honestly, the cause of animal rights ―that’s my life’s work,” said Moby. “There’s almost nothing that humans are doing that’s more destructive to our species than using animals for food. And of course we’re destroying the animals ― a couple hundred billion a year ― but in doing [that], we’re also killing ourselves and making the planet uninhabitable.”

He stressed, “if I have a purpose on this planet, it’s simply drawing attention to that.”

The world needs saving, in Moby’s mind, and he’s certainly not wrong. But still, he remains dubious you’ll hear him.

“When it comes to issues, like being a good vegan or animal rights activist, I can’t just scream,” said Moby. “You have to strategically present the information in a way that people might be receptive [and] might respond to it. That’s why I felt like doing it in a cartoonish way in the video would both sort of draw people in and repel them at the same time in equal measure.”

This is an artist who knows what he’s doing.

And in this final millimeter away from a World War III you’ll read about on social media, Moby just wants you to listen.

Mark Wahlberg Forces Journalists To Reenact Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’ Video Just ‘Cause

Usually it’s the journalists asking things of celebrities, but in this case, Mark Wahlberg turned the tables.

In London for a “Transformers: The Last Knight” press event, Wahlberg recently grouped together some male entertainment writers on the staircase where the Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” video was filmed at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel.

“Sing it live!” the actor orders, after some audio trouble, in a clip posted Saturday by Kevin McCarthy, who reports for a D.C. Fox affiliate. Chris Van Vliet, Andrew Freund, Scott Carty and Xilla Valentine also appear to be doing their best to channel the iconic British girl group.

To see just how well the ragtag boy band nailed it, here’s part of the original with the new footage:

Katy Perry Is Breaded And Boiled In ‘Bon Appetit’ Music Video

Just when you thought you had your fill of innuendo-heavy, food-related pop songs, Katy Perry’s “Bon Appetit” arrived on the scene to make you feel confused, hungry (in a confused way) and wondering how much she actually knows about the Michelin star system.

On Friday, Perry released a very literal visual interpretation of her single. In her new music video, the pop star is first lifted out of plastic wrap by a team of chefs. They then proceed to rub flour on her very elastic limbs, cover her in carrots and onions, boil her, and do some other stuff. Migos arrives, Perry is laid out on a platter for some very fancy cannibals to consume, and then a pole emerges from the center of the dinner table.

At the end of it all, Perry is left alone, knife and fork in hand, in front of a pie made of human body parts.

We feel … things, but we don’t have the words for them just yet.

Madonna Shares Sweet Video of Her New Twins Singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’

A love for music clearly runs in Madonna‘s family.

The 58-year-old singer shared a video of Stella and Esther Mwale, orphaned 4½-year-old twin girls who Madonna announced she adopted from Malawi earlier this month, performing a passionate rendition of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” on Saturday. Dressed in matching striped pajamas and polka-dotted socks, the twins sing and clap along to the classic nursery rhyme while a woman plays the tune on the piano.

“A little night Music,” Madonna captioned the Instagram video, adding a slew of emoji.

In 12 hours since being posted, the video has been viewed nearly 400,000 times by the pop icon’s 8.8 million followers.

Madonna confirmed on Instagram that she became a mom again.

“I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family,” she captioned a photo of herself holding hands with her daughters. “I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time.”

Although Madonna had initially called the girls Stella and Esther in a previous post, she has most recently referred to her daughters as Stelle and Estere.

Malawi’s judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula previously told PEOPLE the High Court in Malawi confirmed the adoption order for the pop icon to adopt twin girls from the country.

Prior to her latest adoption, Madonna was already mother to four children: Lourdes Leon, 20, Rocco Ritchie, 16, David Banda, 11, and Mercy James, 11.

The “Living for Love” singer has a long history with the people of Malawi: She adopted David and Mercy from the African country in 2006 and 2007, respectively. And she’s worked to fight against poverty amongst the nation’s orphaned children for more than a decade with her Raising Malawi charity. This year, the philanthropic group will build Malawi’s first pediatric surgery and intensive care unit, the Mercy James Institute for Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care.
