Alexander Wang Ups the Ante on the Viral Bottle Cap Challenge

The summer’s hottest trend isn’t from the runway, rather it involves a bottle cap.
Alexander Wang is the latest to get in on the viral “Bottle Cap Challenge” where people post videos of themselves opening bottle caps in inventive ways, usually by kicking it open. Wang has taken the challenge to the next step, posting a video of himself on a boat in Croatia opening a bottle cap thanks to his dramatic, 360-degree hair flip.

Viktor & Rolf’s Couture Show Goes Viral on Instagram

Viktor & Rolf’s Instagram-inspired couture collection is coming full circle: It’s gone viral.
Taking inspiration from Instagram caption one-liners, like “Sorry I’m late, I didn’t want to come” and “I’m not shy I just don’t like you,” the brand’s fanciful collection of tulle ballgowns at Wednesday’s spring 2019 couture show has been flooding Instagram feeds and has even inspired a number of memes.
Artist and meme account Saint Hoax joined in on the fun with a series of altered images from the Viktor & Rolf runway featuring celebrities and quotes they’re infamously known for, like Lady Gaga’s overused “100 people in the room” story from the “A Star Is Born” press tour and one of Kris Jenner’s most memorable quotes from “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Calling the collection of dresses “Fashion Statements,” the designers wanted to balance the overused sayings with over-the-top dresses that reference the ruffles and large silhouettes of period dress.
“It’s the kind of message you find on social media, with the same instant feeling,” Rolf Snoeren noted during a preview of the collection with WWD. “All these statements that are so obvious or easy — there’s a lot of banality on Instagram and social media in

Photo Of Gal Gadot’s Husband Wearing ‘Wonderful’ Shirt Goes Viral

A post shared by Gal Gadot (@gal_gadot) on

Yaron Versano has a pretty super wife.

Gal Gadot told Glamour she met her businessman husband at a “very strange party in the Israeli desert.”

“It was all about yoga, chakras, and eating healthy — we didn’t exactly find ourselves there, but we found each other,” she said.

The couple was married in 2008 and now have two young kids. Gadot gave birth to their second child this year.

A post shared by Gal Gadot (@gal_gadot) on

The actress credits her husband with helping her stick to her goals of pursuing acting, and her perseverance obviously paid off. Gadot recently led “Wonder Woman” to thus far around $ 500 million worldwide, breathing new life into the DCEU.

You don’t need to tell her husband how great she is. Versano already knows, and he has the T-shirt to prove it.

In a new photo that’s going viral, Versano stands behind Gadot wearing a pretty “wonderful” shirt in honor of his Wonder Woman wife.

The photo received more than 1.2 million views in just its first 12 hours of being uploaded to Imgur, which makes sense. The image is so cute that the only explanation for it existing is that it was molded out of clay and brought to life by Zeus.

As BuzzFeed noted, the shirt is also on Amazon, for all the other husbands who have super wives (which is, you know, all the husbands).

But this shirt was clearly meant for one dude to wear, and it’ll hit you right in the feels.

Mom’s Viral ‘Behind The Scenes’ Photo Reveals The Reality Of Instagram Perfection

After posting a “perfect” selfie, a U.K.-based mom and blogger followed up with a powerful message about body image.

On May 16, Tova Leigh posted a photo of herself on Instagram, along with a caption about corsets and unrealistic body image standards.

A post shared by Tova Leigh (@tova_leigh) on

After receiving tons of “likes” and compliments from friends, Leigh made the selfie her profile picture on Facebook.

But she later felt guilt about her choice of photo and the filters and edits she used to create it. On May 28, the mom shared a follow-up post to reveal the reality behind the “perfect” selfie.

“Today I am sharing the ‘behind the scenes’ of that image,” Leigh wrote. “How I actually looked when it was taken, without 20 attempts to get it right, without cropping out the bits I don’t like and without adding the ‘make me look pretty’ filter.”

The mom explained that over the weekend, she read an article about the way social media can make people feel depressed and insecure because they perceive the perfect-looking images to be real.

“Well let me tell you something: THIS IS REAL,” she wrote. “In all my mum-tum, cellulitis, granny pants and absolutely zero thigh gap glory! Not the perfect sexy body by some dictated standard, but imperfectly fabulous because it is real and it is mine.”

Leigh concluded with some advice for people to keep in mind the next time they see a “perfect” photo on Instagram or Facebook and start to feel self-conscious: “Social media is full of shit. You are beautiful just the way you are. And there is nothing sexier than being real.”

The post received over 37,000 likes. Leigh has three daughters ― a 6-year-old and 4-year-old twins. She told HuffPost they inspired her to share this message.

“They’re obviously still not on social media, and I sometimes worry about when they will be,” she explained. “As somebody who uses social media quite a bit for my work, I am well aware of how misleading it can be, and at the age of 41 I take things with a pinch of salt as I know that what I see is not always reality. “

Reading about the negative effects of social media “perfection” ― particularly on teenagers ― prompted Leigh to share the truth of her own “perfect” selfie.

“In reality, I was standing in my underwear in my bathroom facing a window, so I had really good light,” she recalled. “I had a mirror in front of me and I must’ve tried at least 20 times before I got the perfect shot.”

But the image was “dishonest,” and Leigh said she felt like a fraud after receiving compliments on how she looked in photo. “It did not represent what that moment really looks like, so I decided to share the truth.”

Though the blogger was hesitant to share such an intimate photo, she’s glad she did. Leigh has been overwhelmed by the positive reactions and all the kind messages she’s received from women around the world thanking her for her honesty.

“We live in a world and a society that puts a lot of pressure on women, young girls teenagers etc to look a certain way,” she told HuffPost. “We tend to share the good moments and the attractive bits about our lives which I guess is understandable, but at the same time is very misleading.”

She added, “If you look at social media you will see that 99 percent of images look perfect. But how does that even make sense? Life is not perfect. We are not perfect. And that was the point I was trying to get across: We’re not perfect but that is totally OK. Being real is far more powerful than being perfect.”

This Elderly Couple’s Viral Story Is Proof That True Love Exists

If you don’t believe in true love, you haven’t heard Iris and John’s love story.

In a viral Facebook clip from the British E.R. documentary series “24 Hours in A&E,” we meet lovebirds John and Iris, a couple who have been married for 65 years.

Though John is in the hospital for a heart problem, all his focus is on Iris, who sits nearby him throughout the hospital visit. John eventually reveals that Iris is in the first stage of Alzheimer’s disease

“The snag is, you know, it’s not going to get any better,” John tells the camera. “It’s sad. But I mustn’t be greedy. We’ve both had a good life together.”

John also describes the couple’s first date on June 28, 1946. (Yes, he remembers the exact day.)

Though his initial plan was to take Iris to an expensive theater in Leicester Square, his future wife suggested a cheaper movie. After the movie ― the 1946 film noir “The Dark Corner” ― the pair ate beans on toast together. Years later, John saw the movie playing on television and recorded it.

“Now, when we have special celebrations, we have our beans on toast and we have the film,” he says.

The clip has garnered over 350,000 “likes” on Facebook and left plenty of people teary-eyed.

“That hit me so hard,” one man wrote.”The fact that he’s grateful for the time they’ve had, I can’t think of what to say. Just beautiful.”

“Thanks, now I’m sitting at work bawling my eyes out! I’m a bouncer!” another man admitted. “Do you know how hard it is to have people take you seriously as a bouncer when you’re crying?”

It’s OK, bouncer bro. Just show them the clip and they’ll understand.

Student Transforms College Rejection Letter Into Viral Work Of Art

She transformed a negative into a positive.

When Claudia Vulliamy found out that the prestigious Oxford University in England had turned her down for a place on its classics course on Wednesday, she was understandably disappointed.

But she didn’t get downhearted. Instead, the 18-year-old student at Camden School for Girls in London hacked up the letter of rejection and worked it into a painting.

Her mom, Louisa Saunders, posted a photograph of her creation to Twitter (above) and the image is now going viral.

“When I got home to see the painting, I laughed, because it was funny and also sassy,” Saunders told The Huffington Post on Saturday.

“It was nice, because I could see that she wasn’t feeling too sad about the rejection. I know it breaks some people’s hearts,” she added. “I really admired her spirit, but I wasn’t very surprised because it’s fairly typical of her ― she’s always been creative.”

Saunders’ Twitter feed was soon flooded with positive comments about her daughter’s inspired work of art:

Vuilliamy, meanwhile, told HuffPost she was “really surprised” by her artwork going viral but was “so glad that it has cheered people up.”

Usually social media can be quite brutal but it made my week,” she added to ITV News. “I just thought it was a bit of a bummer not to get in. I felt like making it into something.”

She now hopes to study at Durham University ― and continues posting new artwork, such as the piece below depicting her mom, to Instagram:

These 15 Viral Beauty Tricks Made 2016 Even Weirder

Yes, 2016 was weird. And it had the beauty trends to match. Luckily, nothing lasts forever, even if those 100 coats of nail polish videos felt like they might.

As the year comes to an end, there’s no better time to revisit the trends that inspired a whole lot of head scratching, wonderment and just as many YouTube tutorials.

Check them out below and stay weird, beauty lovers.

1. Succulent nails

Because the only thing more painfully hip than nail art is succulent nail art.

2. KFC’s chicken-flavored nail polish.

Edible, chicken-flavored and oh so weird.

3. The V-Steam.

This Gwyneth Paltrow-approved treatment involves a tube that blows hot steam onto your vagina that allegedly “balances female hormone levels” (dubious). We’re not so sure about paying upward of $ 50 to give our vaginas steam “facials,” but who are we to judge!

4. Hologram lips.

OK, this one, that requires just one $ 14 lip gloss, is just as cool as it is weird.

5. Lisa Frank hair.

Because rainbows make everyone smile. #lyssdidmyhair #rainbowhair #hairvideo #allthecolors #lisafrankhair

A video posted by Connecticut Hairstylist (@lysseon) on

The Lisa Frank obsession this year prompted a clothing line, coloring books and this mesmerizing, psychedelic trend in hair dye. Rainbow hair isn’t necessarily weird, but the fact that it’s inspired by 90s-era school stationary is a little unusual.

6. Crystal lips

They’re made using “heavy glitter, base color and clear gloss” and they are so intense.

7. 100 layers videos.

Starting with “polish mountain,” beauty vloggers spent hours of their lives in 2016 demonstrating what 100 layers of mascara, foundation and liquid lipstick look like (to name a few). Jenna Marbles took it about 500 steps further when she did them all, plus hairspray and false lashes, because why not?

8. The edible chocolate manicure

OK, this mani made with icing may have been a joke, but that didn’t make it any less weird (or fun to watch).

9. Nutella hair dye.

As if we needed another reason to idolize Nutella: it allegedly lightens hair (we are highly skeptical) in addition to being the most delightful snack on the planet. Have we mentioned we’re skeptical? Of course, pretending to use Nutella as a hair dye would be pretty weird too.

10. Cheeto Curls

YouTuber Grav3yardgirl actually achieved some enviable ringlets from wrapping her hair in puffy Cheetos, but we’d still advise against trying this one at home.

11. Penis-imprinted highlighters.

Makeup brand Bitch Slap Cosmetics crafted these genitalia-themed highlighters that no one ever asked for.

12. Neck contouring.

So… Will this be a new trend? What do you guys think? #neckcontour ( @mwhairstyles) #fdbeauty

A video posted by Female Daily Network (@femaledailynetwork) on

Maybe useful for a red carpet you’re planning to walk down backward? Otherwise, this one just seems difficult to maneuver and a waste of time.

13. Boob masks.

You know those sheet masks you put on your face? Well, these are those but for boobs. They even have nipple cutouts. Reminder: Your boobs are perfect the way they are, sheet mask or otherwise.

14. Glow-in-the-dark hair.

Celebrity hairstylist Guy Tang created this high-octane dye job that legit glows in the dark. Black lights have never been more needed.

15. Vagasil as a primer.

Vagisil treats yeast infections, sure, but its ingredients do wonders for filling in your fine lines and acting as a great base for makeup, according to a bunch of beauty bloggers.

Meet The Lovable Couple Who Got Married And Went Viral On The Same Day

A day before their wedding, an emotional video of Kristie Scherrer and Tavis Doucette aging 70 years in six minutes (thanks to makeup and prosthetics) hit the Internet. The collaboration between YouTube channels Cut Video and Field Day quickly became a viral sensation with more than 14 million views.

via Tribune Media

“We realized it was released when we were on our way to our rehearsal,” Scherrer told The Huffington Post. “When we got to the dinner, we told a few of our friends who knew about it that it released and they all admitted that they had seen it. By then the local news had even picked it up. At the wedding everyone had seen it but us. We really wanted to watch it together and there was no time the day of the wedding.”

So 12 hours after their big day, the newlyweds watched the video for the first time at a screening with family and friends. A crew from Field Day was there to capture their tender reactions.

Credit: BuzzFeed via Field Day/YouTube

“Like [Kristie] said in the film, we couldn’t be more sure of the person that we’re with,” a misty-eyed Doucette says after viewing the finished product.

Although you don’t get to see or hear much from the couple’s family in the reaction video, Scherrer told HuffPost that their entire family was “deeply moved” by it.

“We don’t live anywhere close to our family and never have as a couple, so I think it showed them a more intimate side of our relationship than they are used to seeing when we visit,” she said. “They laughed and cried and were really proud of us.”

The adorable couple first met at a cafe on their second day of school at Wagner College back in 2006. They were introduced by a mutual friend and stayed close friends until their senior year, when their friendship blossomed into something more serious.

The couple moved from New York City to Los Angeles last year. Scherrer is an account executive at a marketing firm and Doucette is an actor.

“Which means I am a very experienced bar tender,” he joked.

Doucette and Scherrer said that neither of them anticipated the massive and overwhelmingly positive reception to the original video, but feel honored to have been part of the experience.

“Tavis asked if I cared if he submitted us for it and I said sure,” she said. “We went to the audition during my lunch hour and I really didn’t think anything of it. Then we got cast and started to learn more about the project and who was behind it. The director told us we could ‘expect some people to see it.’ But this kind of reaction, the responses and messages we have received, it’s been incredible.”

Watch their reaction video above. To see more photos from the couple’s wedding and from throughout their relationship, check out the slideshow below.

The photo shows the couple holding hands and closing their eyes as to not catch a glimpse of each other before the ceremony. The groom is saying a prayer aloud, while his bride-to-be stands around the corner.

“It broke me down to know that we felt the same way about God,” the bride told ABC News. “It just made me happy.”

The soon-to-be-newlyweds weren’t the only ones who were overcome with intense emotions.

“The whole room was full of emotion,” Schmidt said. “I tried not to cry and focus on what I was doing.”

Ebola Guide: Infection Control for Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (VHFs) in the African Health Care Setting (including Lassa Fever, Rift Valley Fever, Ebola, Marburg, Yellow Fever) – Isolation Precautions

Ebola Guide: Infection Control for Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (VHFs) in the African Health Care Setting (including Lassa Fever, Rift Valley Fever, Ebola, Marburg, Yellow Fever) – Isolation Precautions

This vital guide from the CDC and WHO, converted for accurate flowing-text ebook format reproduction, provides critically important information about procedures for preventing the transmission of VHFs. In Africa, viral haemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) include Lassa fever, Rift Valley fever, Marburg and Ebola haemorrhagic fevers, Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) and yellow fever. Humans initially contract an infection with a haemorrhagic fever virus through exposure to rodents or insects (for Ebola and Marburg VHFs, the natural reservoir is unknown). Person-to-person transmission of Lassa, Ebola, Marburg and CCHF viruses can occur through direct contact with VHF-infected material. This manual describes a system for using VHF Isolation Precautions to reduce the risk of transmission of VHF in the health care setting. The VHF Isolation Precautions described in the manual make use of common low-cost supplies, such as household bleach, water, cotton cloth, and plastic sheeting. Although the information and recommendations are intended for health facilities in rural areas in the developing world, they are appropriate for any health facility with limited resources. Contents: Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers: An Overview * How VHF Is Transmitted in Health Care Setting * What Is in This Manual * Who the Manual Is For * Objectives * How to Use the Manual * Glossary for Use with This Manual * Use Standard Precautions with All Patients * Section 2 Identify Suspected Cases of VHF * Use Information from Previous Outbreaks to Suspect a VHF * Begin VHF Isolation Precautions * Alert Health Facility Staff about Specific Risk for VHF Transmission * Report the Suspected Case to the Health Authorities * Identify Patient’s Contacts and Travel History * Isolate the Patient * Wear Protective Clothing * Disinfect Reusable Supplies and Equipment * Prepare Bleach Solutions * Prepare Supply of Soapy Water * Disinfect Gloved Hands between Patients * Disinfect Used Gloves before Reuse * Dispose of Waste
