Star Wars: Did Snoke Want Luke Skywalker to Join Him Instead of Kylo Ren?

The ever-mysterious Snoke got a rare moment in the spotlight thanks to Star Wars: Age of Resistance – Supreme Leader Snoke #1 by writer Tom Taylor and artist Leonard Kirk, and the issue implies that Snoke’s master plan originally involved recruiting Luke Skywalker instead of Kylo Ren.

Warning: full spoilers ahead!

The one-issue story takes place before the events of The Force Awakens and sees Snoke travel to Dagobah to train his apprentice, Kylo Ren. As they approach the same Force cave Luke once visited in Empire Strikes Back, Snoke refers to Luke as “one of the most formidable Jedi,” which prompts an annoyed Kylo Ren to ask Snoke why he speaks of Luke with such respect.

Everything We Want in Venom 2

The sequel to Venom has been officially announced and we’re celebrating with tater tots, fresh lobster, and a list of everything we want from the sequel.

Image Credit: Marvel Comics Image Credit: Marvel Comics

It’s pretty much a given the sequel will feature the first live-action appearance of Carnage, which is good because that’s what we most want to see in the Venom sequel. The stinger gave us our first look at psycho serial killer Cletus Kasady who we all know bonds with the symbiote offspring of Venom to become Carnage. Though leaner than Venom, Carnage has proven to be the stronger of the two thanks to his brutal nature and penchant for turning his hands into all manner of pointy things.

Al Franken Accuser Leeann Tweeden Does Not Want Him Driven From Office

Leeann Tweeden, the woman who spoke out Thursday to accuse Al Franken of kissing and groping her in 2006 without her consent, said Friday morning that she is not asking for the Minnesota Senator to be removed from office.

Tweeden, a TV host and sports broadcaster, sat down with ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday where she revealed to co-anchor Robin Roberts that she only came forward with her story so that other victims would be empowered to share their own experiences with sexual misconduct.

“I didn’t do this to have him step down. I think Al Franken does a lot of good things in the Senate,” Tweeden said when asked if he should resign. “You know, I think that’s for the people of Minnesota to decide. I’m not calling for him to step down. That was never my intention.

“I just wanted him to understand what he did was wrong and how he treated me and how abusers do that under the guise that it’s funny, or that ‘Oh, I can get away with it because I’m a comedian,’ Tweeden continued. “That’s never funny. When you shine a light on it, that’s the culture of it — that’s the chance we need to make.”

Though it’s been over 10 years since the alleged incident, Tweeden said she never let go of the negative feelings about it. “I stayed quiet, but I was angry,” Tweeden said on GMA, adding that she hadn’t spoken out about the alleged incident before because it was “a different time,” and that her now-husband had warned her she would face career consequences and would be “victimized.”

It wasn’t until California Rep. Jackie Speier shared her own account of sexual assault as a young congressional aide that Tweeden felt inspired to come forward.

“That happened to me … that was my sign, Tweeden said. “I think if I don’t speak up now, I’m going to forever hold that and keep it with me forever. That was my moment to speak up.”

She did so — telling her story in a blog post Thursday in which she claimed the Minnesota Democrat touched her breasts as she was sleeping while the two were on a USO Tour to entertain troops in December 2006.

“I’ve decided it’s time to tell my story. #MeToo,” Tweeden tweeted alongside the photo.

Franken, 66, quickly apologized for the incident in a statement obtained by PEOPLE, saying: “I certainly don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit in the same way, but I send my sincerest apologies to Leeann. As to the photo, it was clearly intended to be funny but wasn’t. I shouldn’t have done it.”

The former Saturday Night Live star later issued a longer statement, also obtained by PEOPLE, in which he apologized again and said “there’s no excuse” for his actions in the photo. “I don’t know what was in my head when I took that picture, and it doesn’t matter,” he said. “There’s no excuse. I look at it now and I feel disgusted with myself. It isn’t funny. It’s completely inappropriate. It’s obvious how Leeann would feel violated by that picture.”

He also referenced the recent wave of sexual misconduct allegations that have been leveled against men of power in various industries, and said that it has forced men to think about the impact their actions have on women.

“Over the past few months, all of us — including and especially men who respect women — have been forced to take a good, hard look at our own actions and think (perhaps, shamefully, for the first time) about how those actions have affected women,” Franken said.

President Donald Trump, who has also been accused of sexually harassing numerous women over the years, also tweeted about the controversy Thursday night, writing “The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words. Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps? ….”

“.And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women. Lesley Stahl tape?”

RELATED VIDEO: PEOPLE Writer Natasha Stoynoff Breaks Silence, Accuses Donald Trump of Sexual Attack

Tweeden, who also gave a press conference on Thursday in which she said she accepted Franken’s apology and was not calling for him to step down, reiterated to GMA that she has forgiven him.

“The first apology sounded like a staffer. That was very quick yesterday morning when I first talked about it,” Tweeden said. ‘And I was like, ‘Yeah, okay, a two sentence apology. I accepted that as well politicians need to really get ahead of the game. ‘I apologize, that was inappropriate that wasn’t me,’ … ‘Alright.’ ”

“The second apology, I think once things started happening in the media, the second one was definitely heartfelt,” she added. “I do accept it. I think he realized how people felt about it and now it’s a different time. 2006 is not 2017.”

She also said that she had seen Franken over the years with her husband. “I was very cold to him then and he had a chance to apologize and never did,” she said.

Kourtney Kardashian Cracks Down on Scott Disick’s Behavior: ‘I Don’t Want the Kids to See Him Like This’

Kourtney Kardashian isn’t happy with Scott Disick‘s behavior on this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

In a sneak peek at Sunday’s episode, Kourtney, 38, escapes Los Angeles for a California road trip with her sisters — but she can’t escape the ongoing drama with her ex.

In one scene, Khloé, 33, urges her sister to give Disick, 34, some “tough love.”

“I don’t want the kids to see him like this,” admits Kourtney, who shares three children with Disick: son Mason, 7, daughter Penelope, 5, and son Reign, 2.

This season, Kourtney and Disick — who were together for nine years before she officially ended things in 2015 — have been at odds over Disick’s partying, combined with his refusal to accept that Kourtney is moving on with her life.

“How is it that she’s allowed to throw up in bed and I have to go to rehab if I do something like that?” Disick — who has struggled with alcohol abuse — said in an earlier episode after his ex celebrated her birthday by taking a wild girls trip to Mexico in April.

“Kourtney having a good time makes me happy,” he said. “But of course, in the back of my heart and mind I get a little jealous, because I wish we could have had some of those times while we were together.”

RELATED VIDEO: Scott Disick Is ‘Jealous’ of Kourtney Kardashian Partying on Birthday Trip to Mexico

In the two and a half years since their split, Disick has regularly been spotted cozying up to different women in Los Angeles, New York City and abroad — most recently with 19-year-old Sofia Richie, whom a source recently told PEOPLE is calling Disick her “boyfriend.”

Kourtney, meanwhile, is dating 24-year-old Younes Bendjima — and in the KUWTK 10th anniversary special (which aired last month but was taped in April), she indicated that she and Disick aren’t likely to reconcile.

“I guess we’re co-parenting our kids and just trying to get along,” she said. “He’s family. But I mean, we’re definitely psychotic.”

“The debauchery that’s gone on has definitely closed the door several billion times,” she added. “He for a time period, he can’t be consistent.”

“Here’s the thing,” Disick said. “Every time I become too good of a person, she stops loving me, because she fell in love with a person who was a little bit f—ed up. I treat you like royalty, you don’t say hello to me. I spit in your face, you’re like, ‘Hey babe.’ ”

Wife of American Barcelona Victim Speaks Out: ‘I Don’t Want to Wake Up Without Him Next to Me

The wife of the California man who died after a van attack in Barcelona, Spain, on Thursday said she feels “empty” without him.

In a sit-down with NBC News, Heidi Nunes-Tucker, 40, opened up about losing husband Jared Tucker, 42, during their first wedding anniversary trip through Italy, France and Spain.

“I’d found my person: truly the love of my life. That was obvious to anybody that knew us or saw us,” she said. “And I don’t know that you find that again, and I don’t know that I want to.”

Nunes-Tucker shared that she is struggling to cope with the fact that she won’t have her husband beside her for the everyday events.

“I don’t want to wake up without him next to me, and I don’t want to watch TV without him,” she explained. “All of it is just going to be a lot more empty.”

Nunes-Tucker said that the duo were stopping for sangria at a café on the popular street of La Rambla on their way to the beach. They separated when Tucker went to find a bathroom.

“No more than … 30 seconds to a minute after he left, all mayhem broke out and people were screaming and crying and running,” Nunes-Tucker said.

A van had begun plowing through pedestrians, ultimately killing 13 and injuring scores more.

She was pushed inside the souvenir kiosk and stayed there hiding until the chaos was over. Afterwards, she was unable to find Tucker.

Nunes-Tucker felt a sense of hope when she saw a photo of her husband after the attack appearing to receive helped by someone. However, that optimism shattered when she went to a police station and cops revealed Tucker had died in the attack.

“It’s hard not to be angry,” she said. “It’s confusing why anybody would want to hurt anybody like that. Why would you want to hurt strangers? Why would you want to hurt anybody?”

Tucker, who was excited to share this special anniversary trip with his soul mate, never mentioned any hesitation about visiting Europe, despite it being the target of a series of deadly terror attacks in recent years, according to a close friend.

“He didn’t live a life afraid, he didn’t have fear of anything,” Billy Claraty told PEOPLE. “He took things head on all the time and thought he would get through it. They were just out to celebrate one year and have a great time and see some friends.”

In September of 2012 at an art and wine festival in Lafayette, California, Tucker opened his heart to Nunes, a teacher and the mother of a teenage son.

“When he met her, it was immediate, they both knew,” says Claraty. “Heidi was his total life, they had a great, amazing relationship. He had a bumpy road for awhile with past relationships and once he met Heidi that turned around for him.”

A website set up for his wedding to Nunes shows they were married on Aug. 6, 2016, after becoming engaged on Sept. 10, 2015.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Tucker’s family to cover funeral costs and help raise money to go towards his daughters’ education.

Inside Serial Killer Son of Sam’s Life Now: How He’s Been Born-Again as ‘Son of Hope’ and Doesn’t Want to Leave Prison

In the years since his arrest ended a reign of terror over New York City that peaked in the summer of 1977, David Berkowitz — the serial killer known as the “Son of Sam” — has rechristened himself the “Son of Hope,” claiming he’s a born-again Christian who wants to remain behind bars, according to his visitors in prison.

The redemptive identity is an attempt to replace the menacing one that Berkowitz, now 64, adopted in taunting letters written to police and a newspaper columnist during a deadly rampage that gripped the city in fear 40 years ago.

His 13-month shooting spree, which killed six people and wounded seven others, will be revisited in the Investigation Discovery documentary Son of Sam: The Hunt for a Killer, premiering Aug. 5 and exclusively previewed in a clip above.

Serving six consecutive terms of 25 years-to-life since pleading guilty to murder in May 1978, Berkowitz “has to wake up every day and remember what he did to innocent people,” minister Roxanne Tauriello, who is a regular visitor to him in prison, tells PEOPLE.

“David grieves over that a lot, and you can’t say to him — you never want to say ‘Son of Sam’ in front of him,” Tauriello says. “He never uses that name, ever.”

“He is genuinely sorrowful and does not want to get out of prison,” she says. “He knows he deserved to die and deserves to be exactly where he is.”

• For more on the Son of Sam case then and now, subscribe now to PEOPLE or pick up this week’s issue, on newsstands Friday.

Berkowitz’s shootings began on July 29, 1976, when he opened fire on two young women parked outside a Bronx apartment, instantly killing one of them, 18-year-old Donna Lauria. Investigators eventually linked his attacks — several of which targeted couples parked in dimly lit lovers’ lanes — by the .44-caliber handgun he used in all of them.

The cat-and-mouse game he played with police escalated after a shooting the next year, on April 17, 1977, when Berkowitz first called himself the “Son of Sam” in a letter left behind for authorities.

The next month, on May 30, another letter from the killer delivered to then-New York Daily News columnist Jimmy Breslin fed the growing panic.

“He is very aware of the public’s fear and incredible fascination with him,” says criminologist Scott Bonn, who interviewed Berkowitz in prison in 2013 for his book Why We Love Serial Killers: The Curious Appeal of the World’s Most Savage Murderers.

“He is a gnome-looking, bald, chubby guy with red cheeks, and he comes bouncing in to meet you,” Bonn tells PEOPLE. “He is quite different from the sullen ‘Son of Sam’ from the ’70s.”

After his capture, Berkowitz’s claims that he’d been ordered to kill by a demon (through a barking dog) initially led him to be judged mentally unfit. After that ruling was reversed and he was ordered to face charges, Berkowitz avoided a trial by pleading guilty.

In 1987, Bonn says, Berkowitz “reached a bottoming-out in prison. He didn’t want to live anymore and contemplated suicide.” But Berkowitz told Bonn that God forgave him after a dark night of despair, and he says he found religion that same year.

“He claims to be a born-again Christian,” Bonn says. Called “Brother Dave” by other inmates, Berkowitz now participates in an online ministry that is operated for him by evangelical Christians.

“He gets thousands of hits for that site because he is an interesting character,” Bonn says.

Adds minister Tauriello: “I cannot reconcile his deeds with the person I know today. It is hard to believe that at one time he was so wicked, so evil, so violent.”

In an interview with ID, however, retired N.Y.C. police Capt. Joe Borrelli wasn’t sold on Berkowitz’s conversion, saying, “It doesn’t make up for all those young women that he killed.”

“He is not putting on a façade, and he is not doing anything to get out of prison,” Tauriello says, noting that “years ago he wrote a letter to Gov. Pataki stating he does not want to come out.”

“He told me in conversations that he deserved to die, that he should have died, but at that time in New York, they did not have the death penalty,” she says. “He destroyed the lives of his victims, the parents of his victims and those that survived, who have to live with the fear of that.”

Now, according to Tauriello, Berkowitz says “one of his goals is to warn young people on the road to destruction. One of his ministries is to reach out to young people to show them the consequences of actions.”

Maison Standards Innovates With “Pay What You Want” Model

THE PRICE IS RIGHT: French label Maison Standards, which operates on a direct-to-consumer model offering high-end, seasonless basics, is eschewing the summer sale model in favor of a “pay what you want” policy on a selection of end-of-line products.
“We’re taking advantage of the sales period to talk about our model,” explained brand founder Uriel Karsenti. “It’s about putting the accent on transparency and the true value of the product.”
It is the second time the brand has undertaken such an initiative, after it debuted the concept in January. “Consumers easily adhered to the concept,” said Karsenti. “They were happy to participate, and we recruited 40 percent of new consumers.”
The current campaign runs on the brand’s website from today until the end of the month, with consumers encouraged to choose between three different prices for each product included in the offer.
The basic level covers cost of the item and its transport, a second price band integrates development costs and salaries, while the third allows the brand to finance new developments.
This means at the lowest level, a simple cotton t-shirt for women starts at 29 euros, or $ 32 at current exchange, and its price rises to 38 euros, or $ 42, for customers who

How To Handle It If Your Partner (Or You!) Want An Open Marriage

For BRIDES, by Gigi Engle.

Your partner just sat you down and asked for an open marriage. Or was it the other side of the coin and you are seeking an open relationship? Either way, what happens now?

First of all, many people are unclear about what it means to be in an open marriage. Wanting an open relationship does not mean you selfishly want to sleep with other people without losing the convenience of a primary relationship. This can be the case, but if you do an open marriage correctly, it doesn’t have to be.

Honestly, if it’s the right choice for you and your spouse, an open marriage can be pretty hot and exciting. It’s a new way to explore your limits both as a couple and as individuals. You can grow in ways you may never have known were possible — it can even make you closer to your spouse.

You can grow in ways you may never have known were possible — it can even make you closer to your spouse.

See More: The 50 Most Beautiful Wedding Cakes Ever

The number one requirement: it has to be something you both want. The only way an open marriage can work is with total transparency, regular check-ins on emotions and feelings, and radical communication. Both partners need to commit to total honesty and cultivate a bond that allows for regular reassessment of the arrangement based on each person’s comfort levels. The option to walk away has to be omnipresent.

Whether this change is right for you or not, here is what to do if your partner (or you!) want an open marriage.

Find the root of the request

Ask yourself the following, depending on which side of the coin you’re on: Where is this coming from? What is the real reason I’m being asked to open our marriage? Why do I want an open relationship?

Here is the truth about the open marriage discussion: It could be indicative of larger problems within the marriage itself. Before you can delve into your personal feelings on the matter and decide how you’d like to proceed, you must figure out the why. There is nothing wrong with an alternative marriage style if it’s what both partners want, but before proceeding any further, you need to have total understanding. You owe that to each other as partners.

Underlying issues do not have to be the reason people seek an open relationship, but it is a possibility, and therefore this needs to be acknowledged and laid to rest. If you or your partner are asking to see other people due to unhappiness or dissatisfaction with the marriage itself, agreeing to an open marriage will not fix those problems. An open marriage is not a Band-Aid for intimacy issues

An open marriage is not a Band-Aid for intimacy issues.

See More: The Prettiest Wedding Dresses From the Runway

Approach your partner with empathy

Let’s be real here — your initial reaction to an open marriage may not be forthcoming and brimming with delight. Likewise, your partner may be caught off-guard should you approach him or her with such a request. It can be shocking to learn that your partner wants to change your relationship in such a fundamental way. Anger is a normal emotion. It’s OK.

Think about where your partner is coming from. Whoever is asking for this chat came forward in order to have an honest discussion, and that took some guts. The response: empathy.

No one cheated. Trust was not broken. Neither you nor your partner is required to be on board with this arrangement, but both of you do need to be flexible enough to listen. That’s what marriage is about.

Consider what this means for you as an individual

Take some time to yourself and figure out exactly how you feel about the prospect of opening your marriage. Don’t rush into a decision.

The fact is, in certain cases, open relationships are the byproduct of one partner wanting to sleep with other people and the other partner agreeing so as not to lose their spouse—guaranteed, this will end in disaster.

Remember: You can always change your mind. Relationship dynamics alter as you grow over time—the only way this kind of relationship can succeed is with a willingness to compromise and have honest discussions.

Assess how this change will impact your relationship dynamic

If opening your marriage is going to make one or both of you a jealous, needy mess, it won’t work out. Above all, you need trust. You and your partner are the only people who can choose what is best for your marriage. You understand each other and your relationship in a way no one else can.

Sit down, hear each other out, and figure out what each of you want in the short and long term out of your partnership, and move from there.

Julia Roberts Stands Behind Student Fighting for LGBTQ Rights Under Trump: ‘I Want All Students to Feel Safe’

As a transgender student leader in the conservative town of St. Joseph’s, Missouri, Miguel Johnson has witnessed firsthand the dramatic impact Donald Trump‘s presidency has had not just on his high school, but on the attitude of the entire town.

Just weeks before the election, Johnson, a GLSEN student ambassador, spoke onstage alongside Julia Roberts at the GLSEN Respect Awards, an event benefitting the national organization that works to keep schools safe for LGBTQ youth. Even among his brave young co-presenters, 16-year-old Johnson stood out.

“I had the pleasure of presenting with Miguel at last year’s GLSEN Respect Awards, and Miguel, like all the students I meet there, is smart, kind and incredibly brave to live their life openly and honestly at such a young age,” Roberts said in a statement to PEOPLE. “As a parent, I want all students to feel safe and protected at school, and I stand with Miguel and trans students across the country. You are loved.”

At the time, Johnson was cautiously optimistic about the upcoming election, which for the first time in history featured a Republican candidate who had openly acknowledged the LGTQ community. Trump even suggested Caitlyn Jenner would be welcome to use the bathroom of her choosing at Trump Tower.

“Before Trump got elected, he always said he was totally for LGBTQ students, because they’re people too and they deserve an education,” Johnson tells PEOPLE. “And then after he got elected, he was basically like, ‘Just kidding, I lied.’ “

On Feb. 22, President Trump overruled his own education secretary Betsy DeVos to rescind Obama-era protections for transgender students that had allowed them to use bathrooms corresponding with their gender identity. Instead, the Trump administration argued it should be up to the states and local school districts to establish “educational policy.”

Some states, like Johnson’s native Missouri, are already working to pass laws that would force students to use restrooms not based on the gender they identify with, but on the gender that appears on their birth certificates. “Since the recession of the transgender-inclusive Title IX guidance and introduction of two anti-trans state bills (HB202 & SB98) in Missouri, Miguel’s school has become less supportive and is now signaling potential roadblocks ahead,” GLSEN Director of Communications Chris Tuttle tells PEOPLE.

Johnson blames Trump’s flip-flopping on LGBTQ issues with changing the atmosphere of acceptance in his small town. “The feeling went from, ‘Trump is supporting LGBTQ students, so I should too,’ to ‘Well, if he doesn’t care, I don’t need to either.’ “

RELATED: Gavin Grimm Says the Battle Over Bathroom Use “Should Never Have Happened”

Dylan, another trans student at Johnson’s school, who asked that his last name remain anonymous, has noticed the same changes. “Once Trump became a candidate, my friends in the LGBTQ community heard more negative things being said about them openly. They’ve been threatened more, not only for how they identify, but also their race and even their religion.”

Dylan has also noticed that students seem to be more comfortable using offensive language in casual conversation. “I’ve heard more of it, not just directed towards my friends and me, but also just used in casual conservations, as if it were perfectly fine. Like if a person does something awkward in class, someone might say, ‘That’s so gay.’ “

Overall, hate crimes in nine U.S. metropolitan areas rose more than 20% last year, spurred by the heated emotions that arose during the presidential campaign, leading crimes researcher Brian Levin recently told NBC News. Crimes against Muslims and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people accounted for much of the hate crime growth, the researcher found. Many more cases, especially in small conservative towns like Miguel and Dylan’s, go unreported.

Trump’s rhetoric on issues like race, religion and national origin, could have influenced the number of incidents, as well as the number of incident reports, says Levin. “That, coupled with significant coverage, might have encouraged two things to happen: Individuals who vary in motivation, from hardcore bigots to those just seeking a thrill, seeking something to do, as well as victims who felt that they should report this because they’re not alone,” he adds.

Moving forward, Johnson says, “I’m still trying to figure out what I can do to feel okay and how to make my friends and fellow students feel okay, and honestly I don’t have an answer. There’s not an easy solution, especially when the person with the most power is messing stuff up. “

In the meantime, Johnson is doing what he can to encourage fellow LGBTQ students to speak up. “The more voices, the more heard,” he explains. Sadly, Johnson says he knows many students who were “just starting to be comfortable enough to come out in school,” but have “started to back down” since the election. Dylan has noticed the same pattern.

“So I’ve really just been encouraging them not to do that, because it’s the same as us going back in time,” Miguel says. “We need to be progressive. People don’t realize that these things affect people they know and care about. So I’m hoping that the more people come out and speak up, the more people will start realize this affects them too.”

Club 33 Is Coming To Disney World And You’ll Want To Join Immediately

Club 33, Disneyland’s famously exclusive members-only hangout, is expanding with four new clubs at Disney World parks, a spokesperson confirmed to HuffPost.

The original Club 33 is hidden at the top of a staircase in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square, where it was originally intended as a hideaway for Walt Disney to host elite park guests. Becoming a member nowadays is nearly impossible, even if you’re ready to foot the rumored $ 25,000 membership fee and $ 12,000 in annual dues.

But soon, even more members will be able to join the fun if they choose.

There are plans to put a Club 33 outpost in each of Disney World’s four Orlando theme parks, each with its own unique look, the spokesperson said. There’s no word on membership fees or process yet, though an official announcement with more details will come in the next few weeks.

Based on what we’ve seen of Disneyland’s Club 33, these new clubs should be utterly secretive and swanky.

We are all smiles now that the entrées have arrived. #pocketpeacock #club33 #happybirthdaytome #allthefood

A post shared by Shiri Gutman (@percival_peacock_and_friends) on

There are already Club 33 locations at Shanghai Disney and Tokyo Disneyland, but these new outposts will be the first U.S. locations beyond the California park.

Stateside, Disney parks seem to be going for a more exclusive angle lately: In December, Disney World piloted a set of luxe cabanas in its Magic Kingdom park, and in January, a hidden venue called 21 Royal opened in Disneyland, where guests can host dinner parties for $ 15,000 per night.

We may never be able to afford these experiences, but they certainly add to the allure that makes a Disney visit so magical. Here’s hoping we score an invite soon!

No, Melania Trump Does Not Want To Wire You $20 Million

No matter what this ridiculous email says, Melania Trump is not sitting on $ 20 million for you ― or anybody else ― in the White House.

According to the scam message that landed in inboxes like the one below last Wednesday, the first lady is just waiting for you to pay $ 180 to the West African Republic of Benin’s Federal Ministry of Finance before she’s authorized to release “your” funds:

But apart from its obvious absurdity, there are several red flags worth mentioning — such as Trump’s supposed Japan-based email address and California area code telephone number.

It also falsely suggests that Melania Trump is living in Washington, D.C., when she continues to reside at Trump Tower in New York City, and it doesn’t reveal how such a fortune came about.

Replies to the email (which divert via a Yahoo address) and a message left on the number’s voicemail (that seemed to divert to another number) are yet to yield answers as to who’s behind this “419” scam ― which involves targets being promised generous returns if they pay certain fees upfront.

A similar email recently requested $ 3 million to help a Nigerian astronaut stranded in space to get back to Earth. The reward? A healthy share of his $ 15 million salary. What could be more legit?

Mariah Carey’s Song ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ To Become Movie

Mariah Carey’s iconic holiday romp of a song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is about to become an animated film.

Carey made the announcement for the film, which will be released during the 2017 holiday season, on Twitter:

“There are traditions we can’t live without. The tree, the stockings, the presents, and Mariah Carey,” the attached trailer teases.

We couldn’t agree more, Mariah.

Let’s face it, no matter what time of year that you’re listening to it, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is unequivocally the best song Carey has ever produced. Yes, “Heartbreaker” was of course THE jam that caused women everywhere to want to dance around movie theaters in crop tops in 1999, but it pales in comparison to the glory of “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” is romance, tiny Santa-themed dresses, happiness, “Love Actually.” It’s only natural that it be made into a film.

We already know a cartoon Mariah is purely delightful (courtesy of that impossibly perfect “Heartbreaker” video) so we’re waiting with bated breath for this film’s release.

If you want to keep up with the film’s news because you can’t wait either, you can follow along at @AllIWantMovie.

Pooch Hall on Parenting a Daughter with Cerebral Palsy: ‘I Want Her to Have as Much Normalcy as Possible’

Pooch Hall is a self-proclaimed “family man” — and that commitment is lived out both on and off screen.

Hall’s new movie Media — which premieres on TV One on Saturday — explores the drama and secrets behind a powerful family dynasty. In the film, Hall, 40, plays the hot-headed but protective eldest brother of the powerful Jones family, who is battling the competitive challenges of keeping their status and position in the communications industry.

“My character has a little bit of Godfather dynamic, as far as making sure his family is good,” Hall, 40, tells PEOPLE about his role. “The Jones family is about unity, strength, power and understanding how to stay on top. I hope when people watch Media, they walk away with a new definition of what it’s like to be a not so perfect but proud African American.”

Hall says doubling as an actor and living life as a family man with four children — Djanai, 18, Djordan, 8, Djaeda, 10, and Djulian, 14 months — is never easy. “As far as me, being an actor and a family man in this world that we are working in … it’s never going to be easy,” he says.

But when it comes to the parallels between the fictional Jones family and the real-life Hall family, he quips, “Both families aren’t playing around.”

Hall’s eldest daughter, Djanai, has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. In support of their daughter and other special needs children, Hall and his wife, Linda, created the non-profit inClusion ClubHouse, where children with developmental disabilities can learn and play. Their ClubHouse will include five key spaces, including an arts and crafts “creation station” and a multi-sensory experience room.

“I want my daughter to have as much normalcy as possible. And other parents, who really wish they can have this for their daughter, or son, where they experience and exercise their normalcy in the world that we live in. … It’s real work,” he says about his family’s efforts to support the special needs community.

Hall also shares that he is excited for Djanai to be treated with equality at the ClubHouse. “I think I’m mostly excited about her being equal and her being like, You know what, I’m equal,” Hall explains. “My daughter, Djanai, is not looking at herself as I’m different. She will go, Okay, I’m part of this world and I am equal. She’s not looking at as far as I can’t walk or talk. My daughter is super fun, super dope.”

When the Ray Donovan actor isn’t filming, he says he spends as much time as possible with his family. And the ClubHouse, which is opening soon in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, will be a new space for focusing on family fun.

He adds that his Media cast has been extremely supportive of his family’s endeavor: “It’s crazy how much support I get. … I’ve been blessed.”

On Sunday, March 5, Hall and his wife will host a Celebrity Karaoke Night in L.A. to benefit their organizations, with proceeds going towards helping them continue offering much-needed programs for children with special needs and towards a building fund to open inClusion ClubHouse.

Media premieres Feb. 25 (8 p.m. ET) on TV One.

People Want To Move To The Newly Found Planets To Escape Donald Trump

NASA scientists caused a stir when they announced the discovery of seven previously unknown Earth-sized planets on Wednesday.

And with the TRAPPIST-1 solar system a mere 39 light years away, it didn’t take long for hundreds of Twitter users to declare they’d be moving there to escape Donald Trump’s presidency:

Some tweeters took a different approach by suggesting that Trump could himself be sent there, alone, as a test:

Others used the news to throw shade on Trump’s controversial immigration policies, including his proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall and imminently rewritten travel ban:

Some social media users just imagined Trump’s reaction to the discovery:

Plenty of others, meanwhile, just used it to mock the intelligence of Trump and the members of his administration:

Kim Kardashian And Chrissy Teigen Want You To Join Their Book Club

If you like to read books recommended by celebrities, boy, do we have some good news for you.

Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen are starting their own club with celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin. The three will, from the sound of it, pass the honor of choosing a title between them, although how often they’ll do this is unclear.

In any case, Kardashian is up first. She’s chosen Embraced by the Light by Betty Eadie, a 1992 book that hit The New York Times best-seller list for several weeks in the early ‘90s. It chronicles Eadie’s experience of her Nov. 19, 1973, hysterectomy, when the 31-year-old grief counselor died and met Jesus in heaven before doctors brought her back to life.

The book ― the author’s first of several on near-death experiences ― offers “astonishing proof of life after physical death,” according to publisher Penguin Random House. The New York Times noted in a 1993 piece that although the topic “initially seemed a bit far out to many members of Manhattan’s decidedly cynical publishing world,” it became a rousing success through word of mouth, and Eadie’s personal appearances in some places drew “crowds so large that the traffic clogged the highways for miles around.”

Kardashian broke the news over Twitter, between tweets sharing crowdfunding pages for critically injured or deceased children.

And yes, everyone is invited, the reality star added

Teigen stepped in to clarify that all you have to do to take part is read the book.

Whether the trio will debut a website for the club or offer questions for readers to discuss among themselves (perhaps over Twitter?) is yet to be announced.

Embraced by the Light is available through Penguin Random House and Amazon.

New Year’s Resolutions You’ll Actually Want to Keep

By A. E. Colas, ZEALnyc Contributing Writer, January 9, 2017

New Year’s resolutions are a great idea. You say to yourself, “It’s going to be different this year — I’m ready for a change!” We’re now a week into the new year and you’re finding yourself falling back into old patterns and nothing new is happening. Well ZEALnyc understands your dilemma and we’re offering some very simple ideas that can still get your 2017 off to a terrific start.

Resolution 1: In 2017, I’d like to dress better.

Head on over to The Museum at FIT (the downtown fashion institute) and see Black Fashion Designers, an exhibit that will give you just the inspiration you need. This exhibition, which is curated by Ariele Elia and Elizabeth Way, may also keep you from making some mistakes in judgement before hitting the post holiday sales. The exhibition runs through May 16th. For more information click here.

Resolution 2: This year, I should really learn something more about New York City.

Through February 26, you can learn about the city’s role in creating a place for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities during the 20th century. The Museum of the City of New York’s exhibit Gay Gotham explains how much of the work in the arts of the United States we accept as classic examples today were created by these visionaries who also just happened to be non-heterosexual. For more information click here.

Resolution 3: I want learn how artists make work that is relevant to the world around them.

In the 1970’s many artists chose to focus exclusively on social issues of the day. The Studio Museum in Harlem has a powerful exhibit called Circa 1970 displaying these pieces in various media. Consider how this past year has looked in terms of artistic achievement and compare it to that earlier time. The exhibition runs through March 5, and if you haven’t been before, it affords a great opportunity to take in this museum, founded in 1968 “…for the dynamic exchange of ideas about art and society.” The Studio Museum in Harlem is on 125th Street, just east of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. For more information click here.

Resolution 4: I should waste less and recycle more.

Through April 16, see how designers and business owners handle the issues of waste and reuse at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Scraps: Fashion, Textiles, and Creative Reuse shows that through innovative thinking and practice, waste at all levels of production can be reduced to near zero. It will definitely help you remember to take your own worn out textiles to the recycle locations at farmers’ markets around the city. Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is on Fifth Avenue at 91st Street. For more information click here.

Resolution 5: I want to appreciate the finer things in life.

Visit the Frick Collection’s exhibit of Pierre Gouthière: Virtuoso Gilder at the French Court through February 19 and marvel at the skills used to create objects that decorated the court residences of the kings of France. Then go home and look at your chipped Ikea furniture. For more information click here.

Resolution 6: I need to do more to support conservation issues.

Anybody can go scuba diving and see coral reefs in all their glory. But it takes a creative mind to actually make a coral reef replica (in crochet, no less) and get it displayed in a museum. Visit the Museum of Arts and Design at 2 Columbus Circle to see Crochet Coral Reef: TOXIC SEAS and admire the craftsmanship. This exhibition, a product of sisters Margaret and Christine Wertheim and their Institute for Figuring, runs through January 22. For more information click here. Then text a few bucks to a reputable conservation charity.

Resolution 7: I should travel.

Then start your journey at The Rubin Museum of Art and their exhibit Masterworks of Himalayan Art. Among other things, you can go on a virtual pilgrimage to Mount Wutai, a sacred site in Buddhist teaching, located in Northern China. Start a bank account for travel with automatic deposits from your paycheck. The Rubin Museum of Art is off Seventh Avenue at 17th Street. This exhibition runs through February 6. For more information click here.

Resolution 8: I want to learn from the best.

Take a trip out to Queens to see the exhibit Martin Scorsese at the Museum of the Moving Image. The memorabilia from childhood to his work on such classic films as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Gangs of New York, to name just a few, is impressive and gives insight into the creative process of this giant of American cinema. After you’re done, go see his new film Silence. The museum is at 36-01 35 Avenue in Astoria, and is easily accessible by the R/M and N/W subway lines. The exhibition runs through April 23. For more information click here.

What Sex Therapists Tell People Whose Partners Don’t Want Sex

Being in a relationship with someone who’s disinterested in sex can feel incredibly lonely. A discrepancy in desire is more common than most people realize, though.

What’s the best way to address it with your spouse? Below, sex therapists share the advice they give people with higher sex drives than their partners.

1. Be honest with your spouse about your needs.

Don’t shut your partner out and quietly suffer through your sexual frustration. The first step you should take to improve your sex life is to tell your S.O. that you wish you were intimate more frequently, said Keeley Rankin, a sex therapist in San Francisco, California.

“See how your spouse responds,” she said. “Listen to what they say, feel and say they want. You never know, they may want more closeness as well.”

2. Discuss the things that make sex possible and the barriers in the way.

Without asking, there’s no way of knowing why your spouse is disinterested in sex. Maybe they’re just exhausted and too stressed out by the day’s end to initiate sex. Or if they’re experiencing sexual dysfunction of some kind (premature ejaculationerectile dysfunction or a lack of vaginal lubrication, for instance), it makes sense that they’re apprehensive about initiating sex.

“You have to consider the life, emotional and physical barriers that can affect sex and shift libidos,” said Elizabeth McGrath, a sex therapist and educator who works in the Bay Area. “If your spouse has been caring for others all day, for instance, they might not feel ready for sex until they’ve had a moment to themselves to feel nourished and decompress.”

Once you’ve pinpointed some potential causes, figure out a workaround as a team; schedule a doctor’s appointment if there’s a physical barrier to sex, or give your spouse some totally kid-free “me time” if exhaustion is the problem.

3. Try seduction, not criticism or pressure.

A slight mismatch in libido can easily become a larger one if the lower-desire spouse is badgered about the issue, said Danielle Harel, a sex therapist and the co-author of Making Love Real: The Intelligent Couple’s Guide to Lasting Intimacy and Passion

The mismatch often creates a cycle where the spouse with the higher sex drive complains, compares or criticizes their partner and the partner ends up having sex out of obligation, she explained.

Instead of pressuring your spouse, “see if you can find out what turns them on the most and try seduction,” Harel said. “Try saying (and really meaning), ‘It’s fine if we don’t have sex tonight but would you be willing to just open up to see if you start to get turned on?’”

She added: “Just because you start, doesn’t mean you have to go all the way. Make sure you have this agreement with your partner.”

4. Take turns initiating intimacy.

If you’re locked into a cycle of initiation and rejection, ask your spouse if they’d be willing to initiate some form of intimacy every few days, said Moushumi Ghose, a sex therapist and author of Classic Sex Positions Reinvented.

“Take turns each day initiating some kind of touch, even if if the goal isn’t orgasm, but just non-goal oriented sexy time,” she said. “The next day, the other person initiates. This can help balance out the playing field.”

5. See if your spouse is willing to make out.

Reconnecting sexually is all about taking slow, measured steps. If your partner is willing to have a hot make-out session or just touch, be open to that, said Celeste Hirschman, a sex therapist and the co-author of Making Love Real: The Intelligent Couple’s Guide to Lasting Intimacy and Passion.

“Oftentimes, when people are asking for sex, a lot of what they want is just enthusiastic, loving connection.” Hirschman said. “Just remember: You both have to be enthusiastic about it; it won’t be fulfilling if your partner just gives you sex without being present or enjoying the experience themselves.”

6. Get outside help.

Instead of dwelling on what’s missing in the relationship, consider the bond and attraction that still exists and build on that, McGrath said.

“Explore workshops, sex education resources and sex therapy that can expand your sexual horizons,” she said. “Look at what is possible and continue to talk about what else you can do together as a team.”

7. Keep bringing your sexual energy, but in a loving, calm way.

Don’t lose heart if you’re the higher-desire partner, said Ian Kerner, a sex therapist and New York Times-bestselling author of She Comes First: The Thinking Man’s Guide to Pleasuring a Woman.

“Higher-desire partners often get frustrated and feel rejected, creating a sexual disposition that is impatient and brittle and temperamental,” he said. “This often worsens the dynamic around sex and sometimes the higher-desire partner may opt out altogether, which is equally bad.”

The best thing you can do, according to Kerner, is to “stay in it to win it. That means nurturing arousal through positive acts of intimacy.”

It’s OK If You Don’t Want To Be An Entrepreneur

Why do you really want to build a business?

  • To make your life more exciting?
  • To have more freedom?
  • To make more money?

You probably want more of everything! Great, because in addition to all of the above, business can also be:

  • more terrifying,
  • more depressing,
  • more exhilarating,
  • more mundane,
  • more lonely,
  • more aggravating,
  • more unsure,
  • more annoying,
  • more liberating,
  • more expensive,
  • more time-consuming,
  • more joyful,
  • more unpredictable,
  • more stupid
  • and, of course, more wonderful.

So it’s not that you won’t have fun starting a business. You will. A ton of fun.

But you’ll also go through a multitude of other emotions, states, feelings and stark realities, with that same fun mixed in randomly.

So now is the time to ask yourself: can you deal with all the elements of entrepreneurship, or are you just down for the fun stuff?

It’s ok if you really just want to experience the fun stuff that entrepreneurship has to offer.

I’m not judging. But I am pointing out that it’s simply not the way it is — and unfortunately, you don’t find out a lot of the other elements until you’re so deep in the game that it doesn’t make sense to quit. That’s why there’s so much talk about “hustle” and never quitting in the business space online — because so many entrepreneurs are too deep in the game to even consider turning around.

Once you’re a few years deep, it’s much harder to just “move on.” So you have to be extremely tough mentally in order to make it. That’s where the “hustle” mentality comes from. Not because entrepreneurs are some rare breed that don’t get tired — but because mental and emotional resilience is a learned trait that must be developed in order for us to survive.

I’m not trying to scare you. I’m just trying to share some things I wish people would have told me in the beginning.

People start businesses hoping that it will solve their biggest problems, all the while, forgetting that any new challenge — and make no mistake, running a real business is a huge challenge — will inevitably create new, previously unforeseen problems.

If you’re down for that, cool. If you’re not, just be honest with yourself. There’s no shame in getting a good job. Honestly.

For as much as I preach about building your own thing (and I do strongly believe in it) — I’d rather see you just be honest with yourself and do what’s actually going to make you happy, rather than trying to do something that isn’t “you” because looking at hundreds of pictures on Instagram every day has tricked you into thinking that you’re missing out on something.

Trust me, you’re not.

And let me assure you, there is nothing morally redeeming about being a business owner. A lot of the talk online equates having your own company with “giving back” or living your life “to the fullest” — as if there’s no other employment setting where this might be possible.

Entrepreneurship doesn’t bestow or imply any moral or ethical benefits.

Having a business isn’t a necessarily better way of living, it’s just an other way of living.

And this is your life. Any decision that you make for yourself will be correct — as long as you’re honest about what you really want.

These 15 Street Art Murals Will Make You Want To Visit Upfest 2017

A new book documents the colorful history of Europe’s largest live street art festival.

Upfest II chronicles the last four years of the “Upfest” event, which started as a small gathering in the Bedminster neighborhood of Bristol in southwest England in 2008.

It’s since mushroomed into a focal point for graffiti artists around the world, with this year’s edition over three days in July attracting 300 painters from 40+ countries who each painted on shutters, boards and buildings across the area.

Festival organizers estimate that 1,600 artists have taken part since the event’s inception in Banksy’s home city. Upfest will return again in 2017 from July 29 to 31.

The book (cover above) showcases 200 of those works of art, with the majority of the photographs taken by visitors and selected via a competition. A selection of them are below:

Upfest II is available to buy via the Upfest website here.

You Can Now Watch Netflix Anywhere You Want Without The Internet

It’s the moment all Netflix addicts have been waiting for.

On Wednesday, the streaming service revealed its new download feature, which will let users watch some of their favorite shows and movies whenever and wherever they want, without internet.

The download feature for offline watching is currently available today for Netflix shows “Orange is The New Black,” “Narcos” and “The Crown,” with more internet-free binging to come.

To watch shows offline, all you need to do is update your app. In the latest version, a download button appears beside the “play” button on select shows. You can specify the video quality (standard or high quality), too.

“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited,” Eddy Wu, Netflix’s director of product innovation, said in a statement.

The new feature is available for all iOS and Android users.
