Iconic X-Men Cover Recreated With Marvel Legends Action Figures

X-Men fans will want to check out this San Diego Comic-Con 2019 exclusive from Hasbro. The iconic cover to 1991’s X-Men #1 drawn by Jim Lee has been recreated by Hasbro using Marvel Legends action figures, and posters of the diorama will be given away at SDCC. There are four posters in total that combine to recreate the full image of the X-Men battling Magneto.

Take a look at the posters and what they look like together (along with the original cover, for comparison) by flipping through the slideshow gallery below.

The posters will be given away on a first come, first served basis at the Hasbro booth #3213, while supplies last. They will be available for free for SDCC guests during two giveaway sessions: Friday at 10:30 am and Saturday at 4:30 pm. During each session two of the four posters will be given away. Fans can come to the booth during these times to collect all four and create the full quad poster.

Opinion: The X-Men Need Jean Grey Back

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey #1!

No major superhero character stays dead forever, but Jean Grey sure knows how to cling to the afterlife longer than most. 14 years after being killed by Fake Magneto (long story) in New X-Men #150, Jean is finally making her return in the miniseries Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey. That book is set to pave the way for a new ongoing series called X-Men Red in February, with Jean leading a brand new team. Clearly, Jean’s return is a big deal for the X-Men franchise, as well it should be. She couldn’t be coming back to life at a better time. After a year where Marvel has tried and failed to reinvigorate the struggling X-Men comics, Jean Grey’s return may be just the thing to finally put the franchise back on track.

The Final Trailer For ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past Is A Traveler Of Both Time & Space

On let the sun beat down upon the final “X-Men: Days of Future Past” trailer. Twentieth Century Fox and director Bryan Singer use an instrumental version of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” to score the last tease before the film’s May 23 release. It works, not just because the song’s lyrics (“I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been”) fit in with the film’s plot: In the post-apocalyptic future, Professor X and Magneto (Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen) send Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back to the past to change the course of history. The time travel puts Jackman in the same scenes as “X-Men: First Class” cast members Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and Michael Fassbender, and allows him to integrate with the new “X-Men” while still keeping old faves (hey, Halle Berry!) involved in the story as well. Watch the “X-Men: Days of Future Past” trailer, and ignore any and all similarities between the Sentinels and the Helicarriers in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
